We had Nathan from Service Star Plumbing come out to our new home today to discuss repairs from our inspection report.
First, let me say, Jodi who handled my emails from the start, was great to work with! Jodi's responses were incredibly timely and Jodi was able to squeeze us in on short notice for an appointment to have Nathan come check things out and give us a quote. Not only was Jodi communicative in email, but I also got a confirmation text morning of the appointment and a text when Nathan was en route.
Nathan, was on time and a pleasure to work with from the start! Nathan addressed all concerns from our home inspection report and went into greater detail on our specific plumbing issues. Nathan was thorough and did not rush at all. Everything was explained as items were looked over. Nathan provide quote options at the end of our meeting, discussed those in detail, and we felt no pressure. Nathan made our consultation a breeze. Looking forward to working with Nathan and team soon!

Eric and Dan installed a reverse osmosis drinking water system for us. They were on time, very professional and courteous. They explained what they did and how to operate and start up the system. They cleaned up completely after they were done. The workmanship looked great.

Fantastic service and quality. Very fair pricing also. Needed both sinks unclogged on a double bathroom vanity. Time was important as we were expecting the appraiser for the sale of our home. Contacted them at noon and immediately had a date and time for service the next morning. They showed up on time and corrected the problem quickly. The individual was very knowledgeable. Too much money

Dan and his assistance showed up on time, gave a quick estimate and completed the work in an efficient manner. They verified there were no leaks when the work was complete and cleaned up the mess when one was discovered. Very satisfied with their work.

Plumber misidentified the main leak, which (as we know now) was not a plumbing issue. Any experienced plumber would have seen the actual cause of the leak as not a plumbing issue and disclosed that to the property owner. Instead, they convinced us the cause of the leak was due to shower pipe, replaced the pipe, but the leak persisted (because main leak was not plumbing related). My mistake was not looking into the hole in the ceiling myself (of course when you pay someone to do that for you, you expect them to act professional and disclose what their honest assessment).

So, did they replace a new pipe, Yes. Did this stop the leak, No. Why not? Because the pipe they replaced was never the cause of the main leak. Can I prove that they knew where the main leak was but just chose not to disclose it to us, No, of course I cannot prove that. However, considering that if their trained professionals genuinely missed the main leak (which, now looking above my ceiling myself is so blatantly obvious the leak was NOT due to the pipe he replaced), would I ever reach out to them again for any work on my house, No. And neither should you.

I'm very happy with the work they did. They replaced a broken water heater & water softener. The work was done quickly, professionally, neatly, they were on time and on budget. I would recommend them to a friend or relative.

Easy to schedule and showed up on time. The reason I gave 2 stars was b/c I asked ahead of time relative charges. The person taking the appt. had no idea, and couldn't give a labor charge. 2 people showed up for a 1 person job and said they would be charging $1100 for a 3 to 4 hour job ($275/hr-$366/hr). Their reply as to why the rate per hour was so high...there are 2 of us. even then 2 x 20 to 25 year olds have the experience level to pull $138 /hr. You must be joking. It was an outrageous cost. Oh and the job was to install a T between 2 pipes and then screw in the legs to the sink. Then attach sink basin and faucet. The sad part was after trying to gouge me, he asked for a travel fee.

Ben and Dan were timely, very fast, and clean. They were able to have us up and running in just a few hours. Recommendations given for several different options for pricing including repair of existing, full install of several different sizes including timing, and most efficient. This was extremely helpful when deciding what I wanted to spend and what I would do moving forward. They were excellent.

Dan and Gavin were very knowledgeable and informed us of what future treatment might be required due to tree root removal in the interior floor drain. While they were here we had them replace and old toilet that wasn’t functioning adequately. They promptly ordered the toilet and had it delivered and installed within an hour. Cleaned out the old wax buildup and removed the old toilet and everything was clean and tidy when they finished.
We would highly recommend them as they were very professional, courteous, conscientious and knowledgeable.

Dan came out at 8am to inspect a leak from our water heater, which turned into 7 hours of hard work replacing the heater and fixing a separate toilet issue. He assessed the problem & even had the materials to replace the laundry tub trap, which he did within an hour - & confirmed that he did NOT have to replace the whole laundry tub - YEA! (Other company was going to replace the tub without even looking at it.) The cost was reasonable & even got a senior discount! Great customer service! Jody reached out to us from Angi's List. We had received calls from other contractors also, but I feel because we didn't confirm from the intital contact, we never heard back from them. Jody not only called us, but sent us a text message. She wasn't giving up and was professionally persistent in connecting with us. She was able to schedule Ben to our home the very next morning. Ben called to inquire about the project and kept in touch with us regarding the time he would arrive. He was on time, very professional, and friendly. He even put on boot protectors when he entered our home. Ben answered our questions regarding the current job and questions regarding futher projects we are considering. We had them out said it was 380$ to cut the sheet rock but if you you use us to repair your problem we will wave your fee then they quote you a stupid high price of 920$ for 50$ in parts and 1hr of labor and at that point they have you because they either made a pile of money by cutting a hole or fix it for a really high price. I am in the trades as an electrician and I feel like I was swindled.

We had water leaking all over. We also we needed a new water heater (as ours was 37 years old). I called yesterday afternoon and they arrived this morning at 8 am.

Very accomodating

I hired Service Star Plumbing to clear a floor drain in my utility room that was draining slowly. They didn’t provide a quote in advance, and charged a $49 travel fee to come out and provide a quote. The quote they provided was the highest of three service providers. Overall, the service was good, but I wouldn’t recommend this service provider for the value.

Provided quote within 2 days of calling - arrived on time and the tech was nice and informative.

They also provided an estimate for the job within 30mins which is nice to make decisions on projects

Overall service was great... They were able to schedule us for same-day service and arrived within an hour. They were able to determine the problem and give me options and they took care of everything that day.

The only reason I rated lower is simply the cost. I expected parts at cost + markup, and of course a labor charges.. but labor at over $600 an hour for a kitchen faucet replacement seemed absurd.

After talking through the estimate we were able to get it down to a more reasonable cost.. but that says that they are adding a lot of unnecessary items or fees hoping their customers won't take notice?

Quick fix, absolutely.. cost effective fix, not at all.

The tech was great. No complaints regarding him. I feel taken advantage of by the company. They charged me $850 for an hours work. The tech was able to drop the price to $650 for a main valve replacement, but it’s still crazy to think what ONE HOUR from the time he walked in and out the door cost me. Very disappointed. I needed it done today as it was leaking. I did not call it in as an emergency, the dispatcher provided me next availability. I was sure charged emergency rates.

Request was to make it safe and code compliant. They identified the problem and did the necessary work to bring it to code and make it safe. Dryer was installed. The shut off replaced, line secured and the ducting was replaced. Looks great. I would recommend.

They did not have any of the parts to repair a gas valve or a tankless water heater. This was on a Monday and he stated the gas valve parts wouldn't ne available till Friday and the tankless water heater would be out a week after that. Then he quoted an ungodly amount for both repairs. Sent him on his way.

Your guys Daniel and Galvin were AWESOME. I know it cost the company money but for the safety of your employees it would be AWESOME if they had snow tires on their Van's. You have wonderful employees and hope the company would do what it can to keep them safe. Thank you again for coming to my rescue.

Josh installed a large utility sink and spray faucet with a separate spigot for servicing our fish tank. Code required running an exhaust pipe from our lower level, a challenging proposition that Josh accomplished with minimal wall incursion.

I was told when he was on the way, along with his name and his picture!! Who does that!! This kid was so nice, respectful, and a fellow Harley rider! Called late yesterday with a clogged kitchen sink drain and Daniel showed up at 8 this morning and had it working perfectly by 8:45. He even cleaned out my bathroom sink for me too! Great service, clear pricing up front, very easy to work with. I was a bit surprised that it was $500 to clear out a clogged drain, but it is what it is I guess.

I just bought my first home in December of last year and the hose pipe was not properly installed or winterized and needed to be replaced. Dan was very informative and showed me exactly what he fixed and explained why the pipe burst and how to prevent that next winter. I called service star one day prior and they had a two hour window that they were open between 8-10am. Dan was prompt and was here right at 8am. Very professional and made minimal cuts to get to the pipe.

I've employed Service Star on my last two plumbing jobs; Eric has been the team lead on both. Both experiences have been excellent! Eric is the kind of guy you want as a service provider - knowledgeable, capable, flexible, courteous - a professional. My first job was a kitchen renovation that required a new sink location - water stub-ins for sink and dishwasher, drain & vent tie-ins, plus sink and disposal installation. I also had a frost-free hose bib installed. All of the work was done meticulously with no leftover mess - even in a construction zone! He even fixed a shut-off valve that was previously installed incorrectly by another company to remain un-named. The most recent job (16 months later) involved replacing the last of the galvanized pipe in 1950's Rambler - drains, and water stub-ins to two bathrooms. Eric also installed a new vanity/sink, and another frost-free exterior hose bib on the other side of the house. Eric was precise in his wall demolition where necessary to gain access to some of the plumbing - other places required no demolition and he left no trace. While working on the hose bib, he determined it would be best to cut the pipe back beyond the valve inside the house - he installed the new valve at no additional cost. And a couple days after the job was finished, I thought one of the sinks was empty a bit slower than it should so I called and spoke with Jody (always excellent customer service!). She scheduled Eric to come out the same day - only to find that it was some normal-type drain clogging stuff (soap scum, hair, etc.?) in the sink drain/trap. Eric basically performed my routine maintenance cheerfully and without charge. I find this type of service to be exceptional. Thank you Eric (and your additional crew) and Service Star - you're my first call with plumbing needs!

Unfortunately my clogged tub was not so simple. I live in a slab on grade home so concrete had to be broken up and a fair amount of digging to find good pipe to tie into. This ended up being a two day job (and then some). Eric worked diligently, answered my questions and worked cleanly. I cannot say enough good things about this company or about Eric. Five stars!

This is our second experience with Service Star Plumbing, and we come away equally impressed. Simply put, we have high expectations and this company is our first call for any plumbing needs.

Our sewage-ejector pump failed and Service Star came out the next morning, worked through the day, and got the entire situation resolved. Not only did the plumber fix the ejector pump, but he also worked to improve the pre-existing piping to make the entire system run quieter. It's quite an improvement.

The company is responsive, professional, and incredibly diligent. We can't recommend highly enough.

Needed a leak repaired on newly installed dishwasher, found the problem and tried for an hour to fix, unable to repair as a new part is needed. Very professional and didn’t charge for the labor time.

This was our first time using Service Star. Thought it was too expensive to unclog 2 drains over $700 and kitchen faucet was left loose. We agreed to the cost of unclogging the drains but wished they would have mentioned the loose faucet, tightened it or told us how.

Needed help to install my gas oven once realizing that only partial accessory pieces from appliance store came with the delivery of our new stove. They repaired a couple of range related gas leaks and replaced a copper gas line/pipe. They were efficient, communicated well, offered multiple options for repair and beyond, and they also gave me a few extra pointers about gas and water. It’s only been a few minutes since they left but the work they did seems to be quality. I will call them again the next time I have any plumbing etc issues.

Had a leak develop in the wastewater line at my parents house that was built in 1927, cast iron pipes.

The plumber's came and repaired the issue in about 4 or 5 hours and it cost a little over $2,100 and was expecting it to cost between 4 and 6K.

Plumbers were friendly and courteous and as I mentioned before they got what looked to be a rather complex job finished in a short time and would definitely recommend this company again.

The people we had out did great. The cost was overpriced and I was very disappointed in that aspect. They told us a new value would be $400 more than if we were to use our old. We tried to use our old and they said it was corroded, which I get. He went and picked up the valve kit, I looked it up later and it was $50 at home depot...Not sure how a company can just do this to someone. I am not impressed.

The job involved setting up a laundry tub with drain and supply lines, running water lines to an unfinished bathroom, and waste line for future vanity sink. Dan and Ben gave me different options for the job with clear explanations. They had a can do attitude. Their price was much better than another plumber I had a quote from. Josh was out within 2 days to fix my leaking drain. I could’ve gotten same day service but it wasn’t that urgent and my schedule couldn’t allow for it.

Josh was prompt, friendly, and courteous. He explained my options and was open to doing extra work for me that I hadn’t disclosed when I made the appointment. I am super impressed with the work completed and the one year warranty. I would definitely call again if I have anymore plumbing needing to be done.

I found this business on Angie's List. Within hours of when I expressed interest in a bid, they contacted me and arranged to come to my home and give me a price. The price was a bit higher than I expected, but seemed fair, so I asked them to do the work. Nathan completed the project that same day. Because I have an old house and old plumbing, the project took longer than expected and required ingenuity and persistence on his part, but he persisted, and by the end of the day, the problem was solved! I am totally satisfied.

I called them to fix a backed up drainage but the technician was unable to fix the problem as he did not have the necessary equipment for the job. So he recommended another company he said would be able to get it done.

I haven't used the business just yet. Service Star came out to bid a kitchen remodel. The gentleman who bid the job (Kurt) was a delight to work with and I plan to hire Service Star to do the plumbing work on my remodel.

Quoted me $853 to reconnect two copper to black pipe natural gas connections -- and that was the basic quote... I didn't even want to hear the quotes that would include upgrades that were NOT needed. I declined and still had to pay the $49 trip charge. Home Service Plus came out the next day and did the job in less than an hour for a total of $176 parts and labor. I'll let you judge if this was an attempted ripoff or not!

I've been contacted by this company when I was doing some contacts through Angi's portal. As I was looking for a preventive main sewer inspection I had no rush. However, they insisted in coming over as they had an inspection cheap fee of $49 and after doing the inspection, if there was any issue identified during that inspection, they would provide options to fix whatever is not right.
The 2 technician came over today and went down to the utility room, right after they've offered me a couple of services for over $330 with no inspection. Summarizing, they lied to me when they offered a camera inspection for $49 and then, with no inspection at all they started offering a bunch of expensive services.
I've just called in and the person that answered the phone apologize but now she explained that they charge the $49 for the tech to only come over and offer services, with no inspection...
Never ever will call this company again as I feel I was 100% cheated.

Kurt came out and estimated various projects related to our gas piping. The diagnosis and design were complex and Kurt did an excellent job of explaining the options and the cost for each of the different approaches. It turns out that I need to get Centerpoint to upgrade my meter and service line 1st. Centerpoint came this week, and installed a new higher-capacity, high-pressure gas meter. They were great to work with. Then Kurt of Service Star returned at noon to reconnect the house to gas and install a few regulators. Kurt also hooked up our Culligan water system to our refrigerator drinking water and ice maker. He had to get very creative to do that without tearing up the house. I am extremely pleased with Kurt's work. He is friendly, smart, creative, collaborative. And does meticulous plumbing work. I don't want gas leaks or water leaks. And he's very thorough. I recommend Service Start without any reservation.

Josh gave estimate of cost of water heater replacement, including comparisons of Tankless water heater versus Water tank. He was very knowledgeable and clear in explaining the different values and in figuring out the installation complications. Their estimate seemed very high, however. They use a brand of water heater you cannot find in big box stores, so it is card to compare prices. We will get more bids, even tho we had to pay $49 for them just to come out to our house.

This is the second time we have used Service Star Plumbing. We have been very pleased with the quality, timeliness and value of service both times. For this visit, Dan was our technician. He showed up right on time and was sure to put booties over his shoes to keep our floors clean. He quoted and repaired a leak that we had in our shower and also installed a new fixture. The service required him to cut an access hole in the wall - he cleaned up the dust so well you wouldn't even known he was there and the install of the fixture works great. We also asked for a quote for two new 50 gal water heaters (ours were an incredible 25 years old). He provide a quote, honored a military discount (which is a big deal for us) and was able to do the delivery, install and haul away that same day. I even compared the pricing for the units and was pleased with a very minimal mark-up. Dan was great - he answered all our questions, was patient and provided us options. Thanks Dan!

Eric from Service Star Plumbing, LLC came to our house to look at the work we wanted done. He offered 3 options to fix a drain pipe that had rotted. Eric completed the repair using the least expensive option he offered us. Eric was on time, did a nice job replacing the drain pipe, communicated well during the repair and cleaned the area when he was finished.

I was given several options to resolve my toilet problem. Because this was the original toilet from the late 1980’s I opted to replace the toilet. The technicians did a good job of explaining my options which included repairing the existing toilet. The job was completed at that appointment. The technicians were knowledgeable and pleasant. I would recommend Service Star Plumbing.

Service Star was very proactive in that a representative stopped by the day before to check on my outside water shutoff which saved money from having the city check it. The plumber who replaced the valve inside was very professional. He took care in going over the service fees prior to work being done and any possible additions if another valve needed to be fixed. It did not. Complications occurred but he willingly honored original estimate. This company values giving good customer service at a reasonable rate. Also person making appointment was very courteous as well. Highly recommend.

Very responsive and easy to schedule appointment, however their quote was more than double what the next company quoted. So I obviously didn't use Service Star. Very disappointed because I have heard so many positive reviews.
