Sprang a leak over the weekend and, after scrambling to find a plumbing service that was open, scheduled a visit from Benjamin Franklin for later that day. Ira arrived within about an hour, quickly assessed the problem (our ejector pump had stopped functioning, and the barrel was overflowing), and gave me a clear list of possible fixes and their respective costs before proceeding.
We got lucky, and it turned out that we just had a stuck float, rather than a dead pump. He took the time to explain everything he was doing / checking, and also pointed out that, as the pump is only used by one of our bathrooms, we could put off replacing the pump until we were financially comfortable doing so, should it come to that. Many contractors I've worked with in the past have pressured to tack on as much service as possible, so I really appreciated this advice. Also, Benjamin Franklin's services are flat rate, so you know exactly what you're getting into before they start.
We were planning on replacing our water heater, and having a few other smaller projects done later this year, and I was impressed enough with the service I received that I've signed on for a service contract. I would 100% recommend them to friends and family.

Had a 20 year old faucet in a house that leaked. Our technician ended up having to cut the faucet out, so I felt better about not being able to do the faucet exchange myself. Very professional, explained the process and costs up front, and completed everything quickly. He cleaned up nicely after, and took the old faucet to dispose of. Very happy with the weekend service.

They are just extraordinary as a company. Everything about them is exemplary. They will always be appreciated for what they did concerning the busted pipes of current residence. When other companies wouldn't help, they did. They showed empathy and sympathy from the start from the moment that they were first contacted. The representative on the phone was pleasant and immediately showed she cared in the manner of her voice.
Wished left a review back on the March 14, 2022 day that they started the work.
They changed every busted, leaking pipe on the house for a fair rate.
Will use them again for all future plumbing needs. Hopefully, no more plumbing emergencies occur.

Excellent. We had our hot water expansion tank spring a leak. I called Saturday morning and they were able to come out within a few hours. Replaced the tank and did additional work we noticed to replace pipe copper pipe which had two pin holes. Ira was very clear in his communications and cost. Outstanding tech. In May 2023 I've had an absolutely bizarre experience with this Ben Franklin location and their plumber Chris B. and office staff. He came out as requested but they have REFUSED - after texts, phone calls, and emails - to simply send me the estimate as promised. And they won't explain why.
AND - importantly - Chris and the people in the office were told that I needed the estimate for my home sale, so timing was important.
This could be because I (peaceably) questioned the proposed price of a 40-gallon water heater replacement ($3,300?) or (accidentally!) left without signing the estimate (I shook Chris's hand and got his business card and said goodbye and he didn't say a thing about me needing to sign anything).
I've never run into a situation like this. From the plumber up to the office management, there's something wrong with this shop.

I appreciated being able to talk to a person on the phone to schedule my repair because I had some timing problems. Gail, the scheduling person, was very friendly and kind. The Benjamin Franklin plumber, Israel, was so nice! He was quick and professional, he explained things clearly, he was a great communicator, and he was nicely sympathetic when it was expensive. :) Thanks, Israel! I would use this company again without hesitation.

Ira is punctual, knowledgeable and has excellent workmanship. We joined the BFP member family this year and Ira has visited us twice thus far. He explained in detail not only what's wrong but why it's happening. He helped us to prioritize our critical issues for repair of over 50yr old plumbing on a teacher's wage. The technician (Ira) was very responsive and did a great job on my outdoor well pipe repairing. I called Saturday, they sent technician on Sunday to estimate the job, and the job was done on Monday noon with the fair price told on Sun.

Ira Miller cheerfully accepted the after hours call an hour's drive from his base. My kitchen-sink faucet had leaked so badly, including under the sink and ruining the floor of the cabinet, that I had had to shut off the water lines supplying the sink and dishwasher. Had to wash dishes in the bathroom sink, which is not fun. Polite but conversational, Ira worked steadily explaining the source of the problem and options of repair or replacement--always leaving the choice to me. I chose replacement as the original kitchen redo company had installed the worst faucet I had ever used in any of my numerous prior residences. He worked the whole task in less than an hour, and the new faucet compared to the old is a pleasure to operate--life's little joys!

Ira, the tech is always courteous and very knowledgeable! The prices with this company are pretty expensive. It's a $99 service fee and the repairs are extra charges. I do like how Ira gave me a breakdown of what each level of service

I was really impressed with the response time for my emergency. Ira Miller was extremely professional. He explained the root cause for the plumbing failure and the actions he will take to address it. He performed the repairs, and went through the process one more time. He gave additional instructions and left the working area in a clean condition. 5/7/23 Ira, was sent from Heaven. He explained everything to me as far as replacing my gas water heater and everything that needed to be brought up for the right codes for final inspection of the replacement of the gas water heater, but the whole time I was thinking I wish this water heater was electric and not gas. As he was explaining everything to me,I kept saying I do not like gas. As we were going over the pricing of everything for the replacement, of the gas water heater, he said, you know you could change the gas water heater to electric and you wouldn't have to go through all of the things to replace the gas water heater, so I'm getting a electric water heater. That's why I said in the beginning that he was sent from Heaven. He knew I didn't like anything gas and he made an another suggestion that made me so happy😀 thanks Ira you were really sent from Heaven. 6/2/23 Ira installed my new electric water heater he explained everything that I need to know about my new water heater. There was no need for Ira to come out as it was nothing he could take care of after a very well explicated reason. Ira however was very helpful in what I will need to do and steps to get there. I cannot say enough about this company and the employee who came out. From the moment I called to schedule, until the moment the employee left our house, it was the best experience ever. Scheduling was so fast and easy, I called around noon and they came out same day, NO EXTRA CHARGE for it being same day. Our technician was Ira! He was literally the bomb dot com haha! But for real! He called to let me know he was coming from DC to make sure I was still comfortable with the time he would be arriving. He was like literally on the dot of the time he told me he would be here. He didn’t rush, he explained everything to me step by step, so sweet and so straight forward, very friendly and respectful. He went well above and beyond, he was quick but didn’t Rush, Ira just knew exactly what he was doing! The price stayed the same, no hidden costs, no trying to talk us in to anything! I could go on forever, but honestly Ira made a horrible leak in our basement, such a smooth process. I would recommend this company 100000 times over to everyone!!!! Had a Sunday morning plumbing emergency, significant 2nd story water leak going into the 1st floor ceiling. Within 2 hours of the call, Ira showed up, found the cracked fitting, and repaired it. His work was fantastic, his professionalism was amazing. Will definitely use them again.

We appreciated a quick in-home consult with Ira. He is super knowledgeable and answered all of questions, and then some. We did find the water heater replacement quote quite high, and worked together to confirm our options for securing our own water heater through a local wholesaler. This saved us a significant amount of money, and Ira returned to complete the installation for us.
