I contacted this company for an estimate to repair the pipe in my main bathroom. The technician came, the fee was $69, my husband paid in cash, then I got a bill for the same $69. I was unaware that my husband had already paid and I paid the invoice. When I contacted the company my $69 was refunded. I was feeling pretty good about the company, believing it was a honest mistake. However, I ask how long does it take to receive the estimate, I was told 24 hours. After 72 hours, I called to inquire about the estimate, I was told that the technician was working on it and I would get it in 24 more hours. Needless to say, I received the estimate. When I called again, I was told that the owner would call me back today, after 2 days, no call from the owner. I then sent an email and I finally received a call from the owner, who stated that he has been out of town for 2 weeks and the technician needed his assistance to complete the quote and I would receive it in another 24 hours. I don't feel like I can trust this company at this time to do anything in my home. They have my $69 for absolutely nothing.

We had our chimney cleaned the day before Thanksgiving, and the chimney guys turned down the temperature on our water heater and forgot to turn it back up. When we got back to town after Thanksgiving, the water wasn't heating. We forgot about the chimney cleaning, and we weren't gone long enough to have turned the water heater down ourselves -- so we called Abbott Brothers to take a look. A repair man came to the door without tools, walked up to the heater, and immediately turned up the temperature dial. He charged $69 for the house call: fair enough, we made a silly mistake, and he's got to make a living. Then he added on $150 for the diagnostic. Driving around town the Monday after a holiday and spending 30 seconds in people's homes turning a dial for $219 is probably a great business model. If you don't care about repeat customers.

Scheduled an appointment for 9am (9-11 window). Got up early with my elderly grandmother. I called to ask what was up when no call no text by 11:15. Dispatcher said the tech would be on their way soon. I called back a half hour later and dispatcher says the tech is running late, won't be there til 1pm. They should have called me to say they were late, not the customer having to go on an Easter egg hunt. We cancelled. 4 hrs of our morning wasted waiting. Not to be confused for the other Abbott plumbing.

Mike and Dameon did a superb job. Abbott will be my first call whenever I have plumbing issues. Friendly, reliable, and thorough.

Incorrectly replaced water heater, which now constantly breaks and leaves my house without hot water. Stopped answering calls and texts about their shoddy job. Charged me $1000, and now the water heater is a constant headache.

They were able to get here immediately and get the job done in a timely manner. They were great at communicating throughout the entire process. I highly recommend them!

Mike and his team came out for an estimate on short notice and were ready to service our shower drain pipe the following day. Everyone was extremely nice and knowledgeable, pricing was very fair, and not only did they complete the pipe replacement, they checked other connections around the pipe to make sure there weren't going to be any future issues. The way they tented the working area to limit dust and debris and cleaned up the whole area was above and beyond what was expected. Would definitely recommend Abbott as well as come back for any future plumbing needs.

Very pleased with the services Mike and his team provided (replace main water valve and pressure relief valve). Booking was very straightforward - after filling out the webform with when I wanted them to show up, I got an email, text, and voicemail confirming the appointment **from the person who was going to actually show up** as well as a text when he was on the way. Initial consultation was quick and easy, and he spotted another potential issue he could address. He showed up the next day to perform the work, along with two apprentices he was training (this was when another larger plumbing company told me they were booked solid for 2-3 weeks). Work was performed quickly, professionally, and with minimal contact due to COVID-19 precautions. All three of them were wearing masks whenever I saw them. Cleaned up after themselves well, and offered to put me on a notification list for annual service of our water heater and pressure relief valve. Highly recommended.

We found out we had a leak in the main water line to the house when our basement started to flood. The insurance company wanted several estimates for the repair before deciding what work would be covered and I contacted Abbott Brothers after reading positive reviews online. I spoke to the owner Mike Soper Sr. who came out the next day on a weekend. Mr. Soper inspected, took measurements, and came up with some creative solutions for replacing the line with the minimum amount of disruption to our front lawn, flower beds, concrete walkway, and concrete steps. Not easy! His estimate was also extremely reasonable and the work description he provided was just what the adjuster wanted.

As soon as we got approval from the insurance company, Abbott Brothers was able to quickly schedule the repair. The crew arrived when they said they would and got to work digging the trench. More crew showed up throughout the day as the work progressed from excavation to plumbing. Everyone we spoke to was friendly, professional and happy to explain what they were doing and why. The work was completed quickly and on schedule, the job site was tidy and clean when they were finished, and before leaving they walked us through the work that had been done and answered all of our questions. Everyone involved seemed to take real pride in a job well done.

Arrived promptly and completed repairs. Explained what was done and gave instructions as to how to bleed the newly installed valve to prevent outside pipe from freezing. Very satisfied and highly recommended.

I'm a local Realtor and called to schedule a free estimate for my clients. This is not only posted on their website, but also on 2 emails they sent. FREE estimate. After my clients waited 2 hours, the company called me 5 mins past the latest time they originally told me. Came later in the day, which was great. 48hrs has passed now with no estimate, just a bill for $225. This is deceptive and I will never recommend this company. Do not advertise free estimates if you don't stand by that. As a contractor in MD you must give a price up front, not after the fact. I will not be paying this fee.

We had an unexpected leak coming from above, when no water was running in upstairs bathroom the night prior to a scheduled home inspection. Abbott Brothers worked with me to get a plumber to my house 1st thing thing in the morning.

The plumbers were courteous, respectful of my property and quickly assessed the issue.

They were able to retrieve a part to replace the defective one causing the issue at a fraction of the cost had the whole system needed replacing.

They fixed the issue, tested for leaks all before the lunch hour.

Abbot was quick to respond when I needed to replace a shower faucet. I was told their work was gauranteed. But when I contacted them about the poor installation which has caused an issue regulating the water temperature each time I take a shower. I have not heard back from them. Not even an acknowledgement that I contacted them. I guess I'll need to figure this out myself since it must not be worth while for them to correct the issue.

Abbott Brothers fit me in last minute. I smelled gas from the fireplace. We were headed out of town for the holiday. They were so accommodating and fit me in as i explained i had to leave that day. BGE turned off the gas the night before and told me i had a leak. I had no heat-i did not want my pipes to freeze. Alex saved the day and our holiday. Customer service is dead these days so when i get excellent service I really appreciate it!

Abbott Brothers are true professionals at what they do. The young men arrived on time to replace our Bradford White water heater. They also replaced and rerouted vent pipes that were out of code. Both jobs were done with care and outstanding workmanship. They completed the work in 2 hours flat and left the area spotless. Their price quote was by far the lowest of five other plumbing companies that we checked in the area. If you need any plumbing work done, I can’t encourage you enough to give them a call.

I wanted to give a really good review but unfortunately, there were several issues. They fixed my plumbing issue but left my hot water heater turned off without my knowledge. Called the next day and was told someone would be coming by that day to take a look but no one ever came, so we were without hot water for 2 days. After several more calls and texts, a nice gentleman came out and helped us and even pointed out some other plumbing issues to be aware of. This is the only reason for the 2 star rating. I had to request an invoice 4 times before finally getting one. We were promised a discount for the inconveniences but never received it. And we were promised a written quote for additional work but never received that either. I'm not sure what the issue is but it seems very disorganized from the outside looking in. For the price, I'd expect a more responsive customer service experience.

Wow, what a horrible experience so far.. Between the poor quality of work, damaging my subfloor which caused the bathroom tiles to collapse, dropping wood and cast iron in my drain which caused a severe backup and the lack of caring or concerns for my issues ive decided to sue michael soper and abbott brothers plumbing. Ive posted pictures of the collapse tiles in my bathroom, the sewer clog and what i found in the drain, and my toilet paper holder after his employees broke it. I also posted pictures of the three guys who did the work. A company is only as good as its employees and these guys really are the worst.

I called Lowe’s plumbing department In Towson of Baltimore County this morning to get some advice on how to stop a fairly newly installed toilet in our bathroom. The patient and knowledgeable person on the line showed be how to adjust the new fangled dual flush American Standard toilet. Fast and efficient!! 24 hours after my water heater stopped working- I had a brand new one installed.
I would recommend using this company.

We called for service on a Monday morning and the same day Mike stopped by. We were aware of, about, what and where the problem was so it wasn't complicated but needed a 2 man crew so Mike then set up a scheduled time to have his men come out. When the crew came, they did a great job. They were friendly and kept us in the loop. They finished in a timely manner, arriving around 1:30 and left around 4pm (leaving for about 30-40min to get a part they didn't have in their truck). Everything was great until we got a phone call, mid job, giving us the total price. We were surprised to find out that it was $1125. We were charged $69 for the original service call and $1056 for the 2 hours of work opening the ceiling to gain access, remove about 3ft of copper drain piping and replace with a 40 PVC piping and cleaning up. We noticed also that the invoice that we received after payment had a few mistakes. First It stated that it was in the basement. The work was not in the basement, it was the ground floor, family room half bath. Secondly it states that we were given a written estimate at the 1st service appt, before the work was done. We didn't receive an estimate at all, just the invoice after the job was done. We should have asked for it. We found out what the price was in that phone call, half way through the job, while the men were still working.
This was the 2nd time we have dealt with the Abbott Brothers Plumbing and we called this 2nd time because we had a great experience the first time at a fair price. Both times they did great work, they were friendly and thorough. I would suggest to ask prices upfront the first time you speak to them. I know next time we will be sure to get the prices upfront and an estimate so there are no surprises in the end and everyone is on the same page.

I needed assistance with installing a gas range. Ran into some issues I didnt feel comfortable addressing so I decided to call them on a Saturday afternoon. I highly recommend Abbott Brothers plumbing. They were polite and easy to communicate with. Most importantly they were willing to give me a quote/flat rate for unclogging/snaking a blocked tub drain that was a very fair price(something that all the other plumbing companies I contacted refused to do.) They were punctual. They were patient and competently persistent despite the fact that the block was especially bad. Even though it took longer than I imagine it usually takes they did not charge extra. They were neat and cleaned up after themselves. I could not be more pleased

We needed an especially challenging sewer line replacement. Many mitigating factors made a ‘normal’ excavation impossible. Abbott was able to come in with their ‘trenchless’ method in a prioritized timeframe. I was most impressed with how efficiently and effectively they were cleaned up and all of our issues were fixed. I had the pleasure of having Michael and his apprentice, Damien help me with a clogged pipe. My four year old had shoved a wash rag down my bathtub drain, causing a blockage. Michael and Damien came out first thing in the morning. They arrived at the time that they told they would and got straight to work. They even helped by taking it upon themselves to do some additional maintenance work that needed to be done at no extra cost to me! They gave me a very fair estimate at the completion of the job. I would definitely recommend this company and will save their number for any future jobs that may arise.

This review isn’t for Abbott Brothers’ plumbing services, because I wasn’t able to actually get a plumber to my house. I made an online appointment for Friday and immediately got a confirmation that someone would come look at a possible sewer gas leak from 12-2 PM. I waited until 3 PM before calling the company because no one arrived or contacted me. The office didn’t provide me with a reason as to why no one showed up or why I wasn’t contacted. Instead, they said someone would be in contact with me shortly. I received a text a few hours later asking if Sunday between 9-11 AM worked. I agreed. Unfortunately, 11 AM passed and the same thing happened — no one showed up or called. Not sure what happened, but 2 no show/no calls is highly unprofessional. If you know you’re not coming, have the decency to call so people can make other plans or use another business. Obviously, after two chances, I won’t be using Abbott Brothers again.

I call them over because I had a leak in the house after letting them know that city official had mentioned that I might have bad water main they come to the house check around and gave me a quote for fixing a water main and made me pay in advance for part of the job. The day they came to do the repairs they actually do their job and check the plumbing and proceed to tell me that I don't have bad main but that my bathroom is leaking. They had charged me over a thousand in advanced for water main change so they come back and tell me that my new invoice for repairing a leaking bathroom and a leaking sink is just 900 dollars less than fixing my whole main. They had me on the hook already and over charged me for fixing leaks and this is not even the reason for the review, I call in 3 months later cause the bathroom they had fixed is leaking again and when I called in the secretary could not tell me if their work had a warrenty and told me that someone would call right back. It's been days since that call and no one called me. I got a new plumber fixing my whole bathroom. Be careful with what they are charging you for and make sure they write you up for what you actually need, I feel like payment of a couple thousand dollars to fix two leaks was stupid of my part for letting them bamboozled me but them not even doing a good job at it is just terrible all-around

the men were great. but extremely expensive. $265 to unclog a toilet that took only 5 minutes at most.

We HIGHLY recommend Abbott Brothers! We had a small leak in our 18 year old water heater and called in the afternoon and Mike came out to check the water heater that afternoon after he finished a large sewer line replacement job! Mike and Dameon came with the new water heater the next morning at 8a and replaced it! We received messages that first evening for the timing and cost and that morning when they were in route! Excellent communication and very professional! Came exactly when they said they would be there. They took the time to explain the new parts that were being added (pan under water heater and how it works and new part for pressure due to new codes). Very fair prices, including labor cost. I found Abbott Brothers Plumbing & Heating through Bradford White's warranty contractors lookup page and sent a service request through the portal. The owner contacted me VERY quickly and said he could send a tech out within a few hours.

My service tech was Alex. He was professional, friendly, on time, answered all the questions I had, and even gave me a few tips for future water heater maintenance that I could do on my own if I so chose.

The labor cost was a bit pricier than I thought it would be when I got the invoice, but it was well worth the excellent and expeditious service I got from Abbott. Hopefully I won't need any more plumbing services at my home, but I'll definitely use Abbott again if I need assistance!

Much like another reviewer, I found Abbott Brothers through Bradford White's contractor page and gave them a call after looking at their review history to take a look at my faulty water heater. Mike was incredibly responsive, willing to work with me over the phone, and had a plumber arriving between 12 and 2 that same day. Alex arrived right at 12 and was incredibly diligent and personable. He was responsive to all of my questions and gave me some additional information for future troubleshooting should it be necessary.

I called other companies to cross-check the probably pricing given over the phone, but the other companies wanted to play the game and send their workers out to first take a look before they would even give a potential estimate, so bonus points to Abbott Brothers for being upfront and open.

They will absolutely get my business again and I cannot recommend them enough.

We needed a pedestal sink installed and the drainage pipe and valves rerouted to fit behind a corner part of the wall and to fit behind the pedestal sink. They had to cut out a portion of the the wall out which was done very neatly with care and they explained exactly what they were going to do. Tim and Marty were the plumbers assigned to this job and they were friendly, on time and very professional. They got the work done quickly and efficiently and also within my budget. We will definitely be using them in the future for all my plumbing needs.

I called Abbott Brothers about a water main leak to our house and the master plumber came out that day to look at it and give us an estimate. They were out within the week to do the repairs and had the line replaced in one day. They came back a few days later to rake and grade the front yard to put down grass seed and straw. Mike (the master plumber and one in charge of the job) was very responsive to my questions and any concerns that I had.

This was my first time using this company and they were phenomenal. Extremely responsive, affordable and got the work done quickly and efficiently. I highly recommend!

Mike and his team came to work on a drain that no one has been able to unclog. They spent the time needed to figure out what the real problem was and didn’t just show up and spend 5 minutes and tell me that it either couldn’t be fixed or try and upsell some other services. They even noticed some small work that a previous plumber did wrong and addressed it at no extra charge. Truly a class act.

nice guys but they took advantage of my mom - came back 4 times for the same problem, charged her excessively and never wound up fixing the problem. Just had a different Heating company come by and they got it done in 1 visit, under an hour, for 1/4 of the price.

We used Abbott Plumbing for a dishwasher that was not draining. They were very responsive and had excellent communication. The problem was resolved very quickly. Would use again.
