We are very happy with DDR. They worked very hard to finish our basement and did good work. Our project manager Kyle kept us informed and was responsive to requests during the project. We will consider them for any projects we may have in the future.
I used DDR to have a patio added to the back of my house. The whole process was extremely streamlined and required very little interaction on my part. To start the project, Jesse came out to talk about my ideas and what DDR could feasibly do. He ended up pitching a few of his own ideas to me which I ended up going with and am super pleased that I did based on the finished product. When the project started, my project manager, Kyle, was extremely easy to work with and was always professional and courteous whenever I would call him with any questions or concerns. The teams that DDR uses (framers, roofers, concrete crew, etc.) all did extremely good work and got their work done at an impressive rate. A stand out from the DDR contractors is their electrician, Jason Sanders. Jason and his crew wired up two outlets, a fan, and a flood light for the patio after helping me figure out the best way to wire everything to do what I wanted. I was expecting them to have to cut a lot of drywall to be able to run the wires, but they were able to run the wires without damaging any drywall and were able to get everything wired exactly the way I wanted it. Overall I am extremely pleased with the build quality of my new patio and the experience that I have had with the DDR team.
DDR did a very professional job on our room addition. They delivered on everything they promised. Chris was a great Project Manager to work with. Plus all materials and workers showed up on schedule.

Only cared about project when payment was due. Substantial completion was 4 doors left to install, drywall not complete. Stairwell was never finished, drywall and trim. Stairs were not the way we wanted them after repeatly telling them different. DDR puts the cart in front of the horse constantly, to get that next payment.
My wife and I saved money for years for this renovation and felt like we had to constantly be on them to complete things. Had to come back and tear out drywall and fix things, when they were told before drywall was up. If ask would I use them in the future, my answer is no.

We just finished a project with DDR. I had spent a few weeks contacting and trying to locate a company that would build us an addition. We wanted a new kitchen and family room added to our home. DDR responded promptly to my initial call and got the ball rolling for us. They did quality work and kept the timeline they had initially estimated. We are grateful we found DDR. Chris is great to work with, and their electrician, Shannon, is awesome. I can’t forget Mike and Fernando either. Those guys did great work on the framing and siding. Distinctive Design did a great job on our room. We love it and would recommend them to everyone. Chris kept us informed all though the job and everyone that came to our house was so nice and professional.
We are very pleased with our new deck and porch that DDR installed. They said they could start construction in seven weeks and in six weeks three days the lumber was delivered and in seven weeks a crew showed up and began work. Entire project took three weeks we thought it would take much longer so we are very happy with that. Our project manager Eain Moseley was great to work with. He was very responsive whenever we had a question and kept us informed on the status of the project. Over all it was a great experience and we are very pleased. Would highly recommend DDR.

They did a great job finishing our basement and making it the perfect playroom for our kids! They were able to start the project quickly, finished it in about a month and the project manager, Chris, kept me in the loop with everything throughout the process. You may be able to find someone to do the work cheaper, but the process was pretty painless (not always the case in construction) and I love the end product!

I was going to wait until this project was done before leaving a review, but at about 3/4 finished I feel compelled to leave this positive review. Everyone associated with this room addition project has been stellar. Our project manager Ian is extremely sharp, well organized and a terrific human. I will post another review once it is finished (projected to be done on time and on budget), but for now we are extremely happy with this company.
I feel very fortunate to have found Distinctive Design Remodeling at a home and garden show. A representative met with me immediately after I contacted them and spent the time to fully listen to my needs and expectations. His estimate was precise and included all aspects of the room addition project. Every one of the sub contractors did a superb job and Chris,the project manager, keep me informed every step of the way. I could not be more pleased with our new addition and would absolutely use DDR again and refer them to anyone looking for a remodeling company.
After reading other reviews and having a meeting with a designer today, I would strongly urge people to stay away. I've been on and on talking with this company and when the designer showed up he basically said they couldn't do the job after 5 min of being here. While I did appreciate his honesty, he made it sound like they do sub-par cookie cutter jobs with very little quality control.
We've had a great experience working with DDR for our home addition and garage projects.
We saw DDR at the Lexington home and garden show and they set up a meeting for us at our home. We discussed our vision of what we wanted, they looked over our property to see if that was possible, worked with us on financing, then had their design team make blueprints. We reviewed and approved those plans and a few weeks later they began construction. Our project manager Kyle gave us updates along the way. Communication was great all along the way, it seemed like they really wanted to know that every little aspect of the project was what we wanted. I highly recommend DDR!

We just completed our sun-room addition and had a great experience with DDR. All the contractors were professional and did excellent work.

We desperately needed extra space but had some trouble finding people to get it done in a timely, fixed price manner. DDR ended up being just right. They were very creative in figuring out how to fit what we needed in our space (stairs and stuff) and ended up getting everything together and just the way they described. We really liked the people and the work and would use them again for remodeling or additions in the future.
Everything was done in a professional and timely manner, from the plans to completion. We're very happy with our new basement!

Basement turned out great. Just as we anticipated. Chad was very easy to work with and did a tremendous job.
DDR built a sunroom/addition on the back of our house to replace a covered deck. The crew was great to work with. Everything was done on time and looks as if it was part of the original design of the house. We have had so many compliments from neighbors on the look of the new room. From the quote process to the completion of the project, they were professional, informative and a pleasure to work with. Highly recommend!

My husband and I were trying to decide if we wanted to move or add on so I questioned prices for add-on's over the internet. Distinctive Design Remodeling contacted us and set up an appointment to come out and go over things. We research other remodeling companies and called the references we had for Distinctive Design and after doing all of that made the decision to go with them. The crew came and started earlier than expected which was a blessing to us because we wanted to get things started as soon as possible and after starting it seemed as if the addition was up in no time. The crew did a very good job and John and Chis who oversaw the Job were wonderful as far professionalism and working with us to make sure that we were satisfied with the work. A few unexpected circumstances came up and Chris and John did what they could to help us. The project is almost finished besides having the sink and toliet installed as well as our closets but our home now looks totally different inside than it ever has before. It is so much bigger and and feels much more homier. I am very pleased with the work and so happy that we decided to stay. I would recommend this company to anyone who is wanting to expand their home.

These folks are top notch! We wanted to add some living space to our older house we purchased and found them on Angie’s List. They have us a fair, competitive quote and even helped design the space to be finished in a way that would maximize my return on investment AND maximized the utility of the room. The electrician not only ensured that the number of outlets met code but also installed extra outlets for my wall-mounted TV. He even installed light switches that I didn’t know should have been installed. Chad Faris, the project manager, was always helpful and kept me informed every step of the way. He was always patient with my questions and knew exactly what he and his crew were doing. Chad even finished a part of the project that I originally did not ask for on his own time. Chad took great pride in his work and he and his crew really went the extra mile to make sure the finished product was perfect. If you hire these folks, and I highly recommend you do, ask for Chad to manage the project. You will not be disappointed, I promise.

We chose DDR a detached brick garage to our home. They met and exceeded our expectations.
The most challenging part was matching the brick to the house. But with patience the problem was solved to a fantastic match.
Chad Faris who led the project, was in touch with us on a timely basis from obtaining the permits and dealing with the HOA to putting on the finishing touches.
We have already received compliments from our neighbors. The project was done on time and on budget.
We worked with Chris to build a one car garage with some storage space. He communicated with us every step of the way and answered any questions we had. Chris handled everything and also made sure the siding of the garage matched our house. I'm super impressed with how fast they got everything done, especially with the space they had to work with. 10/10 recommend

My first home reconstruction project, and I got their slimy sales guy, Ray Burdette, inside my home. He started filling out a contract and giving me his high-pressure only have one promotion left in this area story. I fell for it and signed the contract!!! Then, when he left, I noticed that the things he had said orally, like high-end brand names of products that would be used on my project, were not specifically listed in the contract. I also noticed he had not included anything about the design schedule, or materials list, or plan for developing the design and getting my approval. I cancelled my deposit check and cancelled the contract. The company owner, Jon Penn, tried to tell me I couldn't cancel, but when I read their contract back to them, he got off the phone quick. I learned, no matter who you choose, get a project quote from at least three companies before signing, and you won't be using these creeps!

The communication from the Project Manager, Eian, started before the project began, which strengthened my confidence that my porch would be completed in a timely manner. At each phase of the project, Eian was there to assist the workers and was always forthcoming with information regarding the next phase via email or in person. Everyone was always friendly and helpful with my questions. The craftsmanship, talent, and teamwork of this group of individuals was wonderful and I'm very pleased with the final product as I can utilize this beautiful 12x16 foot screen enclosed porch all year round.

We recently had DDR add a sun room onto our house. There were several other options out there, but we cannot be more pleased with the decision we made. From the time the sales guy, Kevin Kelly, came for an initial visit, until job completion, we felt more than comfortable with the entire process. Chad Faris was our project manager. Chad runs a very tight ship. He made sure we were always informed about our project progress, or to explain the reasons for delays due to weather or materials delivery. I might add; the project was completed within a few days of the original scheduled date. Imagine that! DDR does quality work, with highly skilled workers. These folks are not the cheapest, but if quality workmanship is more important to you..., than look no further. Call them up. At least give them the opportunity to show you how they can turn the plans you have into reality. Hey, that part is free!! We are so glad we decided to give DDR that opportunity. And I am more than happy to offer this review of an overall great experience.

DDR rebuilt the top level of our two-tiered deck and then installed a roof and screen to give us a nice-sized screened-in porch. It wasn't inexpensive but I'd seen the work they did for a friend on a similar project, and I was sold. Chris, our project manager, was especially responsive and helpful. The work was delayed a little by weather and other issues, but largely done in the promised time. I'd recommend.

I was very happy with DDR for the master suite addition to our home. The whole experience has been pleasant from the sales aspect to design. The highlight has been our project manager Scott Hurtle. Scott has been extremely responsive to all questions. If Scott says something will happen on a Monday then it will happen. If not, Scott would call immediately and communicate very clearly the change in schedule. If I had any issue whatsoever Scott would have it resolved almost immediately. He accidentally cut my neighbors cable line (not his fault, unmarked by 811) while trenching the sewer line and fixed her leaning fence as an apology free of charge. My neighbor was so impressed with him that she plans on contacting DDR to build a sunroom. A fabulous local company that I would love to do business with again. Very thorough and detail oriented subcontractors. Omar the tile specialist was excellent as well as the electrical crew. I hope to work with DDR in the future. Request Scott Hurtle as you project manager and you will be pleased.
We chose Distinctive Design Remodeling to build our sunroom and deck this summer based on the enthusiastic reviews of friends who had screened in their deck. We are delighted we chose DDR to work for us. We were impressed by the number and quality of skilled professionals and the coordination among them. I can see how DDR manages to complete so many projects! Once the construction started, they were able to finish the project in a month as they had estimated, in spite of many days of rain. The crew members showed up whenever they said, put in long hours, and were professional in all their dealings with us. It was clear how the crew members took pride in their work and how attentive they were to the details. Their coordination of work from delivery of materials, laying the foundation, framing the room, building the deck, and clean up was all we could have hoped for. They were flexible in working with us on the design and even went beyond what we agreed on in the original plans. Our new and beautiful room and deck actually exceed our expectations in the quality and soundness of construction and design. We are thrilled with the final product and would not hesitate to use DDR for future projects.

We just had a sunroom built over our deck. DDR did an excellent job on the project from start to finish and were very professional.
We are extremely pleased with the entire project team and the project manager Chris, who was a very helpful and responsive person and was in constant touch through email throughout the project. The work was delayed due to some supply chain issues but as soon as the material was delivered, the crew finished the job in 3-4 days and it was all perfectly done. Extremely happy with the sunroom! Distinctive Design did great at the beginning of our addition project with keeping the process moving. They said we should be looking at about 6 weeks from start to complete finish. They started the process a bit ahead of schedule and had the majority of the work done in the six week time frame. What we were frustrated withis that after they hit “substantial completion” it felt like they completely forget about us. It was a full month from hitting substantial completion to them finishing the project. I tried calling the main office to tell them our project manager, Ian, had forgotten that our foundation pilings has not been filled in, reseeding hadn’t been done, and we still had some siding missing on the final structure where they’d changed the stairs to code. The office just sent me back to he project manager. Ian told us that management didn’t see us as a priority anymore. Finally after 4 weeks he got the pilings filled in, and the following week got the last bit done including inspections. Overall we are thrilled with our new space, the area for improvement is communication with timelines and timely completion of the project.

We used DDR to remove an old porch and to build a new, covered porch off the back of our house. They took care of all the details. Our project manager Kyle was easy to communicate with throughout the project. He always let us know when people would be at our house working. He was quick to remedy any issues, problems or concerns we brought up during the build. They started the job quickly and had it finished in a timely manner, despite setbacks from snow and icy weather. All the workers I spoke with were professional and courteous. We hired DDR to finish our basement, and we are so glad we did! The designer spent several hours with us to fine-tune the layout to fit our needs/budget. None of the other companies spent anywhere close to that much time with us. We had to wait several weeks to begin the construction, as they had several other jobs ahead of us. Once they started, it seemed like we blinked and the project was done!! Our project manager, Ian, was very communicative in letting us know what/who came next. We’ve already had a large family gathering in the newly finished space, and everyone commented on how nice it looked! A big “thank you” to DDR and their entire crew for delivering what they promised and more!! Highly recommend!

From the time we met with Kevin for the initial consultation and walk through, to each interaction with each of the teams was nothing but exceptional. We had a section of unfinished area of our basement and chose DDR to do the work. Not only were they fast, but very high quality work. Not many times do those go hand in hand, but their teams are very talented. Though they subcontract, those teams who did the electrical and trim were fantastic as well. DDR was great to work with. They dispatched a design manager out super quick, and he was very thorough in discussing my wants/needs and quoting a price on the spot (thanks, Pat!) They coordinated everything, start-to-finish, including dealing with permitting & my Historic District (which I was extremely grateful for!). I've worked with several other contractors in the past and have never experienced the level of communication I got with this project (shout out to Chris!). The job was complete within the best-case timeline laid out, which I was also very impressed with. All my questions & concerns were always promptly addressed. I probably could have found another company to do the job for less, but, I've learned through experience that you get what you pay for. If you want to get a project done with as little headache & inconvenience as possible, go with DDR.

We were hoping to get our basement finished before winter, a tall order considering we started looking for a contractor in September. DDR was very prompt in responding to our request for a proposal, and was able to fit us in. They were able to start our project the week after we signed the contract. The project manager, Chad, stayed on top of everything. He kept us posted on who was going to be at the project and when, The electrician spent a lot of time with us to make sure the lighting and outlets fit the future use of the space. We are happy with how everything turned out. There are always things that come up during a project, but all issues were resolved in a timely manner to our complete satisfaction.

Helped us with designing our basement layout, and did a great job of making the finished product meet or exceed our expectations.
DDR provides quality work and does so in an efficient manner. From start to finish, even with a window delay, the sunroom and detached garage were completed in a few days over 2 months. They assign a team to the job and move through the project swiftly with minimum delays.
This is fantastic company to work with. They are very professional and informative. Always responded quickly to all my questions. The quality of workmanship is amazing. Hard workers and quick. Everything was preordered and my room addition was completed in 6 weeks.

DDR constructed a four season sunroom for us. They were very professional from beginning to completion. Scott was a pleasure to work with as the project manager. He did his very best to meet our expectations. He was very helpful in making suggestions that enabled the sunroom to be completed to our satisfaction such as changing the heat/cooling system to a more effective one. It has been several years since we had a screened in patio added to the back of our home. Initially, it seemed everything was good. But in the years since the concrete job has proven to be subpar. It was not sloped correctly. This has created a continuous issue of water seeping into our patio from the outside. Even in the beginning the concrete did not blend in one section allowing an obvious visual defect that is ugly. We paid $35,000 total for the work. The concrete job had made the money spent not worth it. I would not recommend this company to a friend or anyone else.
We had initially looked at a sunroom on the back of the house when we ran into Distinctive Designs. The guys at Distinctive Design were very helpful and knowlegeble about their work. They suggested instead an addition to our house with multiple windows. This was a great idea! They listened to our concerns and took care of any requests immediately. Every team was knowlegeable about what they do and quick to answer questions. All work was done to our specifications and in a reasonable amount of time. Thanks guys! We will call again when we remodel our upstairs!

This company is a very honest and dependable company. We had an attached garage built onto our house and it is absolutely gorgeous. The brick they chose for the front, you couldn't have matched it more perfectly. This garage looks like it was built the same time the house was built. Everyone was readily available to answer any questions we had and it didn't matter what time of day it was. If they couldn't answer our questions over the phone, they were out there in person the next day. We thought that it was reasonably priced and they even poured a new patio and walkway to our swimming pool. I would definitely hire them again. Oh wait, we are getting ready to hire them again!
Very happy we chose to work with DDR to finish our basement. The crew that came to our house were very professional, respectful of our time and executed their work with a high level of craftsmanship. The office and project management staff were very responsive to our questions and requests. The price was very reasonable. We quoted several companies around town and DDR was the one that could give us what we wanted within our budget.

My wife and I decided to use DDR for our sunroom addition because our neighbors had used them a couple years ago. We were very impressed with the build quality and building process of their room addition. We had DDR give us a free quote and decided that the price was fair. The process began and ended within 5 weeks with very good communication throughout. We are now looking at a finished product that looks like it has always been a part of our home. It does not look like in afterthought with uneven floors going from one room to the next. We are very happy and would recommend them for your project.

We found DDR through a home and garden show. They were the first to respond to our inquiries about having a garage built. None of the other companies we spoke to responded in a timely manner. From beginning to end DDR was there to respond to any questions we had throughout the whole process. We needed a demolition of our old garage, new concrete pads, and the construction of our dream garage, a 726 sq foot, two car, and maker workspace. We were quoted a price and negotiated from there. Jesse the CAD designer had plans to us about a week later, we asked to have the garage rotated so the gable was facing front and they changed it no problem.
After the initial wait to break ground of about a month and half things went very quickly. Chris our project manager contacted us at every phase and answered any questions we might have had each time. The old garage was down in a day and gone by the end of the week. The new foundation was poured that same week. The building material can the following week and we had framing and roof on by the end of the second week. Every aspect was solidly built. There was a bit of damage to our gutter where a truck delivering gravel had ripped a hole and DDR took responsibility for and repaired it. The third week was electrical and main door installation. We asked for windows in the door after the fact and they were added no problem. We did pay the door company an additional amount because it was not originally quoted in the price. They also worked with us to design a drain so that there would be no standing water in front of the garage which was a problem with our original one.
We did pay a premium price for this garage, but we also received no worry premium service that was fast and professional. I highly recommend them for people ready to move on a project that they have been saving and planning to do. DDR offers 2-year labor warranty that includes the door. Various materials have other individual warranties as well.
We are definitely going to use DDR again to design and build our craftsman style front porch in the future.
DDR was recommended to us by a friend who used their services a few years ago. My wife and I were expecting our first child so we hoped our basement could be finished in two months. DDR understood that tight timeframe and accomplished it with ease. Not only did they meet our tight time frame, but they were also very professional, responsive, and knowledgeable during every phase of the project. Every member of the DDR team took great pride in their work and put our needs as clients first.
Scott Hurtle from Distinctive Design did a great job in managing our sun room addition. His team was fast, efficient and performed high quality workmanship. When problems arose he came on side very fast and worked out the issues to our satisfaction. We would use them again if we have another project.
DDR has a great team and resources for remodeling. Starting with Kevin 's consultation, then Jesse's drawing of blueprints, Charles ' coordinating with Historical Preservation Office, finally Scott went above and beyond to carry the project to finish line. Everyone in the team is hard working, knowledgeable and dependable. I can proudly recommend them to anyone.
DDR from start to finish was great to work with. Time was spent helping to design a good functional outdoor space. Any concerns were talked through and added into the design. First draft was perfect. Construction phase was good. Scott our project manager, kept us informed on when and how things were going to be done. Concerns were addressed quickly and Scott was there to make sure all was done correctly. All the crews were professional and did not cut corners. The covered screened in deck is now our favorite place to hang out. We also had them replace a door with windows and they cut in an egress window in our basement for a future remodel. I will use DDR in the future for projects that we have done.

We recently had a roof built over our patio by DDD. Our experience with the company was all positive. We recently had a very bad experience on another project so our expectations were cautiously optimistic. They blew us out of the water! Very professional, communication was great at every step. Always cleaned the work site before leaving. The work itself was designed well, utilized excellent materials. We were particularly impressed with how well Kyle’s team worked together. We heard of Distinctive Design Remodeling (DDR) through a commercial on YouTube and the radio. We contacted them through their website inquiring about getting our basement finished. We actually received a call back within 24 hours and someone was at our house within the next seven days. The Senior Design Manager arrived at our home and showed us examples of DDR’s finished work and asked us about our design ideas. After we agreed to their service, the ball began rolling within two weeks. It was an intense process. Lots of calls back and forth, contractors in and out, materials being dropped off, all of the normal things dealing with home projects. There was a mix up in our bathroom with the plumber and electrician and where things would be placed; DDR corrected this mistake immediately. There were also some mishaps and ordering delays with our bathroom back splash due to the pandemic that extended the project out longer. DDR responded professionally and with integrity and even still, our basement was finished enough to furnish within two months. My advice to any future customers to make this process even smoother than it will be, is to make sure you know the exact contact person for your project once it begins. We had some hiccups the first two weeks with contacting the wrong person trying to get information. But, once we knew who to contact, the communication couldn’t have been better. Overall, if I had to recommend a company to my closest friends and family for remodel, it would be Distinctive Design Remodeling.

As with all major construction and remodeling projects, every homeowners should always anticipated some unexpected surprises or delays that can occur, but good and timely communication always helps to overcome those challenges; both large and small. DDR's Sr. Project Manager, Chris Thomas was extremely thorough in all his communications with us. As such our expectations were always met.
Separately, each one of the subcontractor crews were friendly, efficient, and thorough. Whenever they were onsite, the work effort was continuous and effective.
Our project was an all-season 10 x 14 sunroom addition with a vaulted ceiling off the kitchen. DDR was not the least expensive contractor, but we determined they were the most professional.
We would highly recommend DDR as a remodeling contractor, and we would use them again.

They took a drab basement and converted it into exactly what our family not only needed, but wanted. Our new family room is absolutely stunning and our little girl is absolutely THRILLED with her huge new bedroom and glam closet. These guys all made sure we were kept informed about every step of the process at all times, and it was truly fun having them in our home. Of course, Kyle was amazing in his delivery, and we appreciate everything he did, and the way he kept it all lighthearted and stress free for us. Not one step was overlooked! We are very happy with our finished basement! I would recommend DDR and will keep in mind for future remodeling needs. Only suggestion would be to have a detailed design document or blue prints created after sales meeting but prior to start of construction.
The basement remodel has gone extremely well. The work that was done has been very professional. When we asked for something special to be accomplished it was accepted and done without any hesitation. I would definitely recommend DDR to do any remodel. Start to finish, DDR impressed us with their professionalism and workmanship. We hired them to transform a porch into a screened room wrapped with a deck. They provided accurate estimates of project start and completion dates, regular progress reports, and timely communication about workers’ arrivals. Their crews were amazingly efficient, working together as a well-oiled machine, getting things done without cutting corners on quality. Everything is tight and true. They took good care to tie the porch roof into the main roof without interfering with our solar panels. This team is top-notch! We had already talked to four other builders, but Kevin was the only one who really listened to what we were wanting - and then developed a plan that met our expectations. I felt like everyone else was trying to sell us a package. Chris was our project manager - he did a awesome job! We communicated almost every day, he kept me informed on what was going on and the next steps - it wasn't me bugging him for info. Everyone we met did a great job, they listened to my questions and had good answers, very responsive (I felt like part of the team for our project). I will hire them again! And, they were the best price - BONUS!!! No surprise cost overruns either. This was our third major building project, but the first time I've felt good about the results (two others were different companies). I recently used DDR to finish our basement. The process was quick and the work was very good. Our basement has become one of primary parts of our house now.
Unlike some remodeling companies, DDR only completes up to the drywall, so take that into consideration. Paint, flooring and bathroom parts (toilet, shower, sink) are extras you cover out of pocket. So this isn't a complete turn key solution.
My total out of pocket was a little bit more than I would have liked, although the basement looks great and I'm very pleased with the experience.
One of the things to always consider when contracting work is how any issues are handled at the end. We had a few small things surface at the end of the project and DDR has addressed all of them. Standing by your work means a lot when you're talking about the house you live in.
I would definitely recommend their services!

I must say, this was a dream come true for us. We had given up on doing our sunroom - which in reality we thought about just enclosing our sun deck. Well after speaking to other local company we were left with no hopes because of how expensive they said it would be.
After watching a TV commercial and seeing the company, I decided to send a message requesting information. I got to speak with Jesse. His enthusiasm and ideas got us rolled back into wanting to move forward and give them the opportunity to do the project. We were scheduled for about 4 months down and it all started way before and we were super ecstatic and happy.
Our project manager was Kyle and he communicated all as expected. Any question we had was answered. All moved forward as expected. Just our windows took a bit longer because of the manufacturer and we got on a small stall but once those windows were in, everything moved forward. One of the windows broke right after being delivered and it was taken care of on a timely manner.
I can say that every single team that needed to come by, came and did their part and moved on. Kyle let us know who was coming and what they were working. He many times came by and checked; sometimes he communicated with me if there was anything for us to know but mostly was with the crew onsite. He did send daily emails to keep us informed.
Every crew knew exactly what to do and they were all very polite and courteous. Big kudos to Mike and his crew, to the crew who did the sliding because it was a quite height and dark out and they were still working and all was well done, the electrician Shanon, the roofers who did all in a blink! - yes I wouldn't try to be so up high like them!
Overall, if I was going to do another project I will call them in a heart beat!
Sorry I do not have any pictures... still trying to put our new sunroom together!! looking forward to many days to enjoy some good conversations and sunsets.

We contracted DDR to construct a free-standing garage on our property. We were looking for a company that would handle all the details for us throughout the process, build a quality garage, and do so in a speedy way. They started in late June and had finished our construction by the end of August. Our project was a very large building, and we were very impressed by how well everything fell into place. DDR is a very well-oiled machine and made the process smooth. We had an issue with the electrical easement, and they quickly handled all the paperwork with the city and KU. We highly recommend DDR for any remodeling or construction and will definitely look to them for future projects.
This was the 2nd time we contracted with DDR. While I did not deal with them the first time, I had a great experience this time.
Chris Thomas, the Project Manager, was very professional, responsive and informative. He provided all the details and gave me the news as he received it - good or bad. He visited the site (the house) as much as he could. He provided detailed emails and updates; statuses on crew, equipment and delivery and was very patient in answering every single question I had (which were many) - all the time!
Apart from being professional, he also always took care of his crew, which, I thought, was very nice. He is a very hard worker and a great asset to DDR.
We took a lot of estimates and met with a lot of contractors but we certainly can say, DDR kept up to their word and their work. I will certainly hire DDR for me next project.

Overall, my husband and I are very pleased with the job that Distinctive Design Remodeling did in finishing our basement. Jesse, Jon, Jordan, and Mike were nice to work with and responsive to our questions. All of the men that came to do the framing, electric, drywalling, trim work, painting of the ceiling, and clean up were friendly and did good work. They seemed rushed at times. We would have appreciated a more detailed plan layout and more project management on site. We will consider using DDR again on future home projects.

I Love My New Garage! They where very Professional, Constantly keeping me in the loop as it was being built. At the end, They verified that I was completely satisfied with Garage before signing final completion papers.
After attending the Home and Garden Show in Lexington and making an appointment to get an estimate to have our basement finished, things went down hill very quickly. I made the appointment during the day but received a phone call the day before insisting that my husband be present during the meeting. I found this a bit odd but found out later that it was so Ray could deliver the full court, high pressure sales pitch in which he insisted that we make a $45,000 commitment that night or the price goes up $24,000 as of the next day. This was a so-called special show package and there was only one package left. Apparently Ray had another appoinment after ours where he was sure he would sell the last package. Don't bother with this unprofessional, over tanned, obnoxious sexists. The whole time Ray was here he continued telling us how his competitors would charge us twice what they would charge.
I am very happy with the roof DDR built over my patio. Eain, our project manager, was a delight to work with. He is very professional, kind, and a very hard worker. Everything seemed to flow smoothly and we had no major issues. I’m very happy with our new outdoor space.

These guys are good! Being new to Central Kentucky, my family moved into a home with a large unfinished basement and we knew we wanted to finish it right away. I interviewed and had quotes from 5 construction companies. Not only did DDR provide the most competitive price, but they were also able to start the soonest. Within just a few weeks, they were on site and work began. Our project coordinator Kyle was great, keeping me in the loop at each step of the construction process. Crews showed when they said, did quality work and completed the job when they said they would. Any concern I had was addressed and explained. The owner Jon was gracious when we did have an issue come up and made it right. Overall, very happy with the whole process - the sales process, providing a great solution to a layout issue we faced, friendliness of the staff and contractors and the quality of work. We hired Distinctive Design Remodeling to turn our back patio into a full family-room addition. Not only did they fit us into the schedule, but their work has been absolutely phenomenal. We contracted with DDR to add a 240 sq ft room addition off the back of our home and to remodel the exterior of the house. We signed with them in April and they completed the projects by the beginning of August, which is a super-fast turnaround. We primarily worked with two of the project managers, Chad Tipton and Chad Farris. Chad Tipton was very customer oriented; his number one priority was making sure we were happy and I was super appreciative of that. He never cut corners and took the time to get to know us. He wanted to ensure we were happy during each step of the process; I seriously wish all companies treated their customers like that. Our other project manager was Chad Farris. He was very responsive when I contacted him and always kept the project moving forward to ensure we didn’t have any delays. I was impressed with all of contractors that DDR works with, especially Ed and Joanie. They really went the extra mile to ensure each detail was taken care of. We have received numerous comments on our addition and exterior remodel. I would recommend this company and would rehire them if we needed anything else.
Update: 8 months after DDR finished our addition, we had a small issue with our mini split and had to put in a service call using the warranty that DDR offers. I called the main office and they quickly put me in touch with our project manager, Chad Tipton. Within hours that same day, Tipton had the company who installed our air conditioner back out to our house to fix the problem. I was super impressed with the warranty that DDR offers and how easy was to make a service call. I was genuinely appreciative of how quickly Tipton prioritized our issue because I know he had other things on his agenda for that day. It just affirms that even 8 months after DDR finished our addition, they still have top quality customer service.

We needed more closet space and a larger bed room. We also need shade for our brick patio that received afternoon and evening sun. After the construction we were very happy with the result that we received. All of our expection's were met and are very satisifed with the results.
I'm so happy that I had chosen DDR for my detached garage build. They took care of everything from the foundation to the roofing shingles and all in-between. Answered all my questions and ensured I was happy in all phases of the work. I will definitely use them again for my next project.

The project pricing was very competitive, all materials are good quality, and the workmanship is excellent. The project manager (Eain), as well as the workers that came to our home, were a pleasure to work with. Throughout the job Eain kept us well informed, helped us work out schedule conflicts with Home Depot door installers, find someone to come fix our chimney leak, and overall made sure we had a great experience with DDR. In my book DDR takes care of its’ customers.

Used these guys for a complete basement project. Went from bare bones completely unfinished to a high quality, professionally done living space. Everything was done to code and inspected from the wiring, plumbing, framing, drywall, etc. Any defects we found, Kyle offered to come back and make it right, which he did. Great work overall!

Kyle was our project manager. He was professional, as were the crew from foundation to drywall. Appreciate them all. DDR showed up on time and completed different phases in a timely manner. Even though it was winter there were only a couple of days that work could not be performed. DDR was very responsive to our questions and concerns.

Offer a pot of gold and left job not finished. Had to call in county to make sure everything was to code. Told me they have their own workers and no subcontractors but they were all subcontractors and did not work for them only. Never recommend!
DDR recently completed the building of our screen porch. Not only did they meet our expectations, they went above and beyond to exceed them. From the start of the design process through construction and follow-up, DDR demonstrated their professionalism, expertise, customer service, and true passion for their business. Their true purpose is to ensure their client’s complete satisfaction, every individual put in the time, effort, and energy to ensure that they accomplished this goal.
Ian Baker, our project manager, communicated with us throughout the process. He coordinated timelines with the different crews which ensured a successful project. Our screen porch was completed on budget and on time.
Not only are we extremely pleased with the screen porch, we are also thankful to have found a reputable, respectable, trustworthy company to partner with again in the future. The team at DDR quickly became more than a construction partner; they become trusted friends who you know have your best interests at heart.
The subcontractors they used were professional and did excellent work. At the end of each day, they cleaned up the job site. They answered all questions and concerns that we had.

The Distinctive Design team has been outstanding from the start. The member who came to look at our basement and give us a proposal was by far the most credible person to come out. Once we accepted the proposal the team immediately began planning and were on sight within a week. Each of the different teams (framing, electrical, plumbing, drywall, and trim) were respectful of our home (including loving on our dogs) and worked long, hard hours to make sure that the job was done right. Our main point of contact throughout was Jordan who kept us up on each phase of product delivery and made sure we had everything needed to keep the project moving. Distinctive Design wasn't the cheapest bid we received, but as the old adage goes, You get what you pay for. We are very satisfied with the end product and look forward to showing off our new, finished basement. We would definitely recommend them to friends and neighbors.

We are extremely pleased with our basement renovation that DDR did for us. Our basement was completely unfinished and had a bathroom layout that was not ideal for us when we purchased the home. From the very first meeting, we felt that DDR listened to our needs, gave us input that would help us keep the project cost lower (i.e. it would be best not to break all the concrete to move the bathroom from one end of the basement to another, but instead rotate the bathroom to take up fewer window spaces) and came up with a plan that made us very happy.
Our project manager Kyle ran the project smoothly. The level of experience, communication, and coordination he brought to the project was par to none. Any hiccup we had he worked around it. Any item that needed fixing was done within the week, and to be honest the items to be fixed were minor (leveling concrete before flooring gets put in, patching holes, applying extra caulking). The hiccups were mostly items on our end, where the shower pieces we ordered came broken twice. Instead of stopping the project until we had the shower pieces redelivered, Kyle worked the schedule to have his crew work on something else in the meantime.
All crew members, the plumbers, and the electricians were pleasant to work with and respected our home. DDR seems to take the time to vet the people they hire and contract out for projects, which we can all appreciate. The crew went above and beyond on the work and clean-up. Even going as far as patching holes my husband and I made in the staircase while we moved an old fridge down.
I wish they did kitchen remodels; I would hire them for that project in a heartbeat. We have recommended Kyle to our neighbors who are interested in finishing their basement as well, and I know they were impressed with what they saw.
We absolutely love the space that DDR created for us.
It was so nice to work with a professional contractor that could handle all the tasks required to finish a basement.

I had several estimates prior to finding DDR and there was no question they had the best estimate. We went from a completely unfinished basement to a basement with one room, bathroom, a large storage room and large living area which was finished in about a month and looks great! We hit a couple bumps in the road but nothing major (such as a leaky pipe after install) and when I called it was taken care of the same day. Chris was great in keeping us informed on who was coming and the status of the project. Definitely recommended for a beautiful, cost conscious, well-done project and won't hesitate to use again. When i ordered the patio I provided a nearly CAD quality diagram of the design of my patio. The design was never provided prior to construction starting and I told them the dimensions were wrong when they started the foundations. Went to Work came back and was still off by several feet. But was told the i signed off on dimensions. Next they started the roof and they tried using foil dry hose for extending my dryer vent. They then changed the roof design without asking. When they did electrical the disconnected an old switch then just left it. Then came concrete, it was a rush job to do framing and concrete same day, they used a bobcat and destroyed my yard. Then rather than follow drawing they tore down my firewood stand so they could run concrete where the stand was. Poor communication is the biggest problem. I'm still waiting for them to return to pickup dirt pile in my yard and put cap on rain gutter. Unless you can supervise I do not recommend. The quality is great just not what i asked for.

Extremely efficient and delivered high quality. Very responsive and thorough. Eain our project manager was very present ensuring our questions were always answered and we were kept up to speed with the progress and timelines of the project. That being said DDR will be on the more pricey end of the spectrum without much room for negotiation, but they do deliver with quality and reliability.

DDR was great to work with. Our project was tearing down an old deck and replacing with a formal extension sunroom. Eain was our project manager and was very responsive and made sure to communicate as things changed due to weather ECT. The DDR team did an excellent job with the extension from lining it up with the existing house where it looks seamless from the road, to color matching existing siding. Additionally, the team was great about making adjustments on the project when requested and providing detailed responses to very detailed questions during the design phase. Very happy with the work, professional and very reasonable pricing. In general very pleasant company to partner with and would recommend.
DDR finished our basement in 2019. The electricians were stellar, but everything else is just OK. There is definitely a lack in attention to detail: 1) the shower head and tub faucet are not centered over the shower drain, 2) one of the trim boards for a door frame was pieced together with a noticeable seem, it's about an 8ft span so they just cut corners by not getting the appropriate sized board, 3) the plumber did not attach the tub overflow cover, simply set it there without tightening the set screws (allen wrench still taped to the back, rusting), 4) they installed the bathroom door knob and it didn't latch, I had to go back with a chisel and line up the hole in the frame with the knob so the door would actually close and lock. There were other issues during the project, but those were addressed at the time because I called them out. The items above are things that the contractors were certainly aware of and should have corrected, but didn't. Working with the project manager was a generally good experience, but I would not hire them again based on the lack of attention to detail.

Distinctive Design was the right choice for our room addition. Friendly professional staff. They handle all aspects of the build from securing permits, materials delivered, job site clean up, and yard restoration etc. The project manager was always in contact with me letting me know when each phase of the project was next. He was quick to resolve any issues and ensured that we were satisfied. Our project was completed weeks ahead of schedule. Would use again for future projects.

Pros: Nice people and quality work. We got so many compliments from neighbors when finished.
Cons: Pushy salesman when getting our estimate. The estimate was done too quickly and didn't take into account our stair case under our porch.
We had two separate flooding incidents in between demo of old porch and new one. The first one was just a little and I called to report it. The second one was an inch or two of water covering 70% of my finished basement. I don't understand how this could happen and I still haven't fixed up my basement back to pre flood conditions. Also the aforementioned staircase gets wet after rain so I have to deal with that still also.
It took exactly one month for them to remove the giant dumpster from in front of our house after the project was finished which also put a damper on the experience.
I would recommend DDR, but I would also recommend staying on top of them and micro managing the project.
My wife and I wanted to build a sunroom
on the back of our house. Distinctive Designs & Remodeling came out and listened to what we had in mind. They were able to present us with our options at a price that was within our budget. They began this project in mid-August and was completed by the first of October. This room turned out to be exactly what we had hoped. It is a room that we will use for years to come. Thank you, Jon, Kyle, and all of the workers that made our dream a reality. You guys are AWESOME!!

Distinctive Designs remodeled our basement over this past summer. A complete gut and redo, our 80+ year old home in the Chevy Chase area was no simple task. Any issues that arose, Chris our project manager and his team where always available to resolve them as quickly as possible. I do think that they had taken on too many jobs and were a bit spread thin with work load, this lead to our 4-6 week project (original estimated time frame) being completed in 4-5 months, vacation delays included. They did a fantastic job and we love having a finished basement to retreat too. With competitive prices, and I definitely would recommend them to others.

I hired DDR to demolish and renovate my basement, including adding a bathroom and a wet bar. It was a big project, and with all big projects there were setbacks, but Chad made sure all of the problems were fixed and went above and beyond to ensure both our satisfaction, and a great finished product. Every employee of DDR who worked in our home was courteous, quick, and I was very impressed with their cleanup job once they were finished. I would recommend Distinctive Design Remodel to anyone looking to finish their basement!
Folks, be very careful of this company. They came in to do an estimate on finishing our basement (about 1500 sq feet) and repairing a small deck. One of the owners came by on Thursday evening and in the discussion he mentioned that they do not bother with building permits for basements. He also happened to mention that he only had one promotion left that would save us a bunch of money, but never detailed what the promotion was. He called back on Sunday morning in an attempt to schedule his follow-up appointment that day to show us the design and written estimate. He mentioned the promotion again and said he wanted to see us that day in order to be sure the promotion was available to us as he would be offering it to other people Monday. We have really just started the process of selecting a contractor for our project and were working to set up appointments with several others before we made a decision. I told him that we would not be making a decision based on a promotion, that we would not be pressured into signing today. He immediately told me that he was not interested in our business and would move on. We were on the phone for less than a minute. I know this company has great reviews, but I'm feeling like we may have dodged a bullet. They want to set up business very quickly and they apparently do finish their projects in an amazingly short time. To me, though, they are apparently all about a hard pressure sell and not interested in folks that might want to move cautiously. We are talking about a minimum of a $30,000 job. I don't make decisions about that much money in one day, do you?

The crew was great and the work beautiful. Our project manager always got back to us in a timely manner and work was great.
The team at distinctive design remodeling were all on board and very responsive to the needs and concerns for my new garage building. Jesse and Pat were ready to listen and provide professional expertise for all my questions. They had lots of experience building garages and many variations to show us. From the initial meeting to final approval, the Distinctive Design Remodeling team created a great screen room that we now use all the time. We thought we had a great idea/design concept but after our initial meeting, the design we agreed on was so much better than what we expected. Construction started and ended ahead of our promised schedule and each of the crews were very cordial and our project manager was very attentive to our needs.
Distinctive Design was prompt, professional, and attentive to my requests during the installation process. The patio looks great and I am enjoying it.

Overall the project was completed as promised with several modifications during the process that were handled reasonably well. General clean up could improve, but overall there were no issues with workmanship. Chris Thomas was an excellent resource as the project manager.
From start to finish during our screened-in porch project, the folks at Distinctive Design Remodeling made sure we were informed about options and fully understood each stage of the project. From the first time we met with Jesse, he made sure the plans for the project were exactly what we wanted, while project manager Kyle made sure everything was progressing as it should. My wife and I both commented about how responsive and efficient the DDR team was throughout the project. Hiccups are part of any type of construction, but it's how a company responds that makes the difference. The DDR team stepped up during any of those small setbacks to ensure that we got the very best screened-in porch that we could have imagined. Kudos to DDR! We are impressed!

From our first interaction with DDR at the Home & Garden Show this past April, we have enjoyed a very professional and pleasant experience with this company.
Pat, our initial contact, worked with us to come up with a plan for our new sunroom addition, and Jesse was very patient as we designed and tweaked it. Both were forthcoming and worked diligently to give us a quality room addition while staying within our budget.
The construction of our sunroom was managed by Kyle. We can’t say enough good things about our project manager! We appreciate his kindness and he’s just great at what he does! The communication between us could not have worked any better. We knew every week what to expect and were informed promptly if there were any changes. At one point we had a delay by the manufacturer in shipment of our windows. Kyle was right on top of that. He was honest about the delay and kept other aspects of the job moving as much as possible. In addition, he was very hands on during the entire process—many times we saw him interacting with the subcontractors to ensure there was no misunderstanding and that we received quality work.
The subcontractors that DDR used did a great job. It was a pleasant surprise to get phone calls from the subs the day before to let us know they would be here. We received quality workmanship, all within a reasonable timeline. This is very rare and much appreciated!
The entire process made us feel engaged and part of a team effort--not only did we want the project to be successful, but so did everyone else involved. That kind of work environment makes the project a pleasant experience. Congratulations to DDR and Kyle for exceeding our expectations.

DDR and especially my PM Eain did a great job on my home addition. The project got off to a rough start due to the weather, but they did their best to keep things moving and on schedule; overall ~2-3 weeks beyond the original target date (not bad).
Eain good to work with. He is very professional, reasonable, responsive and did what he said he would do. Contractors are often difficult to schedule so he kept me updated with frequent updates.
Overall the quality was good, price was very competitive, and they finished nearly on time.
Good work, fair price, easy to work with.
