My apologies my first review was the raring company Mr. Rooter is terrible. I've never used roto rooter. 5 stars for correcting me.

Had a sewer back up and was able to get ahold of them through my community owners here at Hilltop. They originally sent me a message saying they weren't able to make it out today. I responded letting them know I was unable to shower due to all of the backup into the bath tub. They responded in 15 minutes or so saying they were able to move some things around and get us taken care of in the same day! Mickey was our guy and he meant business. He assessed the problem, saw what he needed to do and got to it. Thanks again Mickey and Roto-Rooter

UPDATE: While Shane explained to me that the clog was deep in the pipe, was not food, and not due to my negligence, the property manager produced a bill on which Roto Rooter stated the problem was a food clog. I was charged for the bill and Roto Rooter would not discuss it with me (as I am only a renter) or have Shane review the stated cause. Either this was an inadvertent mistake or a way to keep the property managers business. Next time I would video the fix to have some proof of the actual problem. Once Shane left I had no recourse.
Original review: Shane, the plumber, was fast, professional and very courteous. He explained everything and I was very comfortable having him in the house. Very very impressed with this company!

Extremely overpriced. We were told that to repair the leak it would be $210. We thought it was something a bit more serious. The gentleman cut a hole in our basement ceiling, claimed he wasn't sure what was leaking, and replaced the water supply hose to the toilet. All of this took him less than 20 minutes. Total charge, $205.

Mom and dad purchased Roto-Rooter in Wichita August 1st 1960 from Carey Alexander. We have been so blessed. We love Wichita and feel so honored to be part of such a great community.

The technician was friendly, very knowledgeable, fixed the problem quickly, and explained everything well. He gave us recommendations of future work that will need to be done, but without pressure. The price was great!!!

I had a clogged drain, and called one of the competitors to come out and try to clear it. 3 plumbers and a water mess later, they couldn't get it unclogged and quoted me a repair in thousands of dollars to break the floor and replace the pipe. I'm so glad I gave Roto Rooter a call instead!
Tom came out much more prepared - using a shop vacuum and towels to keep the mess to a minimum. He got the drain unclogged in under an hour. He ran the camera through to show me the pipes and explained how it got clogged and how to prevent it from happening again. Roto Rooter saved me thousands of dollars, I couldn't be happier!

We always use Roto-Rooter for our drain cleanings. We have several trees on our property so roots clogging up our line is a common thing. Brian has always been polite and professional. We would highly recommend him and Roto-Rooter Wichita.

I had trouble with roots growing through clay tile sewer line. Roto-Rooter service department did an excellent job cleaning out the line while keeping a clean work space. The service provider shared knowledge on what was causing the issue and offered maintenance advice going forward. I was left feeling confident that the sewer line was restored for normal use and felt informed on what to expect in the future.

The workers that showed up to my house were very friendly and professional! My basement had flooded due to some blockage, the workers were punctual and completed the job in a timely manner! They even FIXED my garage door!! That was the icing on the cake, it made my day not only did they care about my current issue but they seen another easy fix and wasted no time helping me get my garage door back on track. After a rough morning, its good to know there's people willing to go the extra mile to make you smile. Thanks guys for everything!

Great locally-owned company that has extended hours for those of us that can't always take off work. They located my missing sewer clean-out that was buried underground with their standard charge which many companies wouldn't consider doing. Although they may not be the lowest price sewer service, the convenience of scheduling and the promptness/thoroughness of service has made Roto-Rooter the only company that I have consider calling in the last decade!

Had been fighting a clog for several weeks tring all sorts of ways to clear it. Roto came out and in less than an hour conguered the nasty clog. Thank you so much. Brian you did a outstanding job was polite and professional. Thank you again

The guys were nice but if they would have done the video first I wouldn't have to had paid so much. I talked to the main guy with Wichita sewer and he said they would have came out and cleaned the roots that was blocking my pipe no charge because it was on the city side not mine. They didn't come and look at it and we are getting a new mainline put in.

Prompt service. I made an online appt. late at night and they called back by 8 the next morning, arrived shortly after and had service completed within an hour. The plumber was friendly and helpful.

I live in a rental, in Riverside, lots of old trees, and old pipes. The roots in the sewer system were causing things to backup in the drain in my basement.

Tom arrived today within the hour time slot that I was originally told. He was friendly, and professional. He even went above and beyond and cleaned up the toilet paper and other mess that had backed up into my basement floor. Thank you so much Tom!!

We had a quick response - he had been here before - gave us our 15% discount because it had been a year since we last had it done. Was quite clean. He gave us a good report on the line. We had a problem with one of our stools flushing. He put in some 'pink stuff'. Said wait 30 minutes and then flush. We have had no problem since. Great job.Very clean. Good job.

We had a house full of guests on Thanksgiving and that weekend. After the last guest left late Sunday afternoon, I started laundry and the dishwasher. Much to my dismay, the sewer started backing up into the basement bathroom. I called Roto Rooter and another plumbing service, both of whom told me they were very busy but would put us on their list. A couple of hours later, on a Sunday evening at the end of a holiday weekend, Roto Rooter was the first to arrive. Preston took care of the problem in about an hour. He was very courteous, friendly and efficient despite the late hour and having a very long day. Thank you Preston and Roto Rooter. We were impressed and will definitely be calling again if we find ourselves in the same or similar predicament.

Really well run company. We have a crazy schedule and they were easy to work around our schedule and great at communicating both pricing and services needed. The technician was super friendly and did a great job of getting our issue cleaned up quick. Definitely calling them next time!

Had service call for a sewer drain cleaning and was dissatisfied with the price quoted so I declined service but paid for a service call. Was contacted quickly by management who saw a fee should not have applied for the work that was done. I was told there are service fees for plumbing repair, pipe fitting, construction/remodel bids and some other more detailed work but not for a simple drain clean estimate. Management worked with me and their employee to better the experience I had. If you choose to use Roto Rooter simply ask if there will be a service fee in advance and about the possibility of a price quote for simple work over the phone in order to save your time and their manpower. Roto Rooter actively monitors their reviews and seems to work towards providing higher customer service based on feedback.

Micky did a GREAT job! I scheduled this appointment on a Friday afternoon and Roto-Rooter was on site at my house within 2 hours! Micky did a VERY thorough job and even Camera'd the line to make sure there were no other obstructions. Thanks for your help!

CALLED THESE GUYS AFTER ANOTHER PLUMBER GAVE US AN ESTIMATE, THEN THESE GUYS GAVE US ON LESS. SO WE WENT WITH THEM. EVERY TIME WE TALKED TO THEM THE PRICE WENT UP. THEN THEY SAID IT WAS BECAUSE THEY HAD TO GO UNDER CEMENT AND WERE NOT GOING TO BREAK IT(BUT THEY DID). OUR LANDLORD SET THIS ALL IN MOTION THEN THEY DIDN'T FOLLOW THROUGH AND I HAD TO CALL THEM TWICE FOR BACK UP ISSUES THAT THEY TRIED TO CHARGE ME FOR EVEN THOUGH WE HAD AN APPOINTMENT FOR WORK TO BE DONE WHICH THEY SET TWO WEEKS OUT KNOWING IT NEEDED E MEDIATE ATTENTION. THEN THEY HIRED A THIRD PARTY TO DO MOST OF THE LABOR. THENRITA CALLED ME AND TRIED TO EXTORT PAYMENT FROM ME INSTEAD OF THE LAND LORD. THE DAY FOLLOWING THE WORK A MAN SHOWED UP ON MY PORCH TRYING TO EXTORT PAYMENT AND THREATENING MY DAUGHTER WITH LEGAL ACTION. SHE WAS 17 YEARS OLD. NOW THERE ARE STILL HOLES IN THE YARD WHICH THEY SAID THEY WOULD COME BACK AFTER THE DIRT SETTLED.....I DARE NOT CALL THEM I DON'T WANT TO BE CHARGED AGAIN!

Excellent phone staff that are courteous, knowledgeable, and caring (they went the extra mile for me on one issue, even calling me back shortly after they had closed for regular business hours meaning the employee was delaying her departure from work and taking it upon herself to solve a problem). Competent and polite service techs.

Had the handles replaced on 3 toilets, and all 3 started running thru almost as soon as they left. The shut-off to one toilet had broken and leaked when they shut it off and they didn't mention how much or clean it up. I found out with ceiling damage below that it was quite a bit. One toilet still doesn't flush properly. I probably should have just tried replacing the toilet handles myself.

I have worked for a company 18 years we have used Roto Rooter exclusively this has given our company the feeling of security when we had problems arise. the employees have always been courteous some more caring then others BUT never rude or short with their interactions.
I have had them help me with my home issues and at a rental property. it really is a help when I am traveling and I have an emergency to call from out of state and have them say YES! we will take care of that for you and you do not need to worry.

Mike & Tony evaluated an outdoor water hydrant/faucet problem and determined a total frost-free hydrant was needed to resolve the attachment problem. It took them only minutes to locate the pipes to disengage, cut, and install a brand new pipe/hydrant system that actually works, compared to the problem we had been dealing with for 14 years! Did a great, professional job and had just the right hydrant with them to do the job! Very happy now with something that works and not out of the 1800s century! Thanks to the folks that setup the visit and especially Mike and Tony!

We had some major plumbing issues in our apartment and they came out within 30 mins after they where called and fixed the issue in a timely manner! We had sewage backing up into our apartment and started to flooding our kitchen. I am beyond thankful for your plummer Tony!

I called on a Saturday with sewer flowing through my basement. The sewer was actually backed up in the city's line. No charge. That is a great indicator of excellent customer service considering Roto-Rooter had expenses involved with a city's problem, and did not pass the cost on to me. Gave me affordable options my local outfit didn't because the guys from Roto Rooter knew what to look for. Very much appreciated.

Had a couple of hydrants/spigots replaced. Got multiple quotes from different companies, Roto-rooter was the only company that didn't quote having to cut through the shower tile (for one) or drywall (for the other). They fully assessed my home and was able to determine they could replace them using the tiny crawlspace. We thought we would need to cap one and install a new one at a different location, the quote to do so was reasonable. During the work it was easier to access then estimated and they were able to replace it and come in under the quoted price. I am extremely happy with the quality of service and will most definitely use Roto-Router for future plumbing needs.

I just want to say make sure you are choosing the right Rooter company. I was told I had a very costly problem by another Wichita Rooter company but thankfully chose to get Rotor Rooter’s quote. Turns out I was totally scammed and the final cost fixing what I really needed was 10% of the other quote. Fast professional and thorough!

Tony did an excellent job. Fast, Friendly and Personable. Called on a Saturday afternoon and Tony / Roto-Rooter was there in less than an hour. Would highly recommend both if you find yourself in less than desirable circumstances.

Jacob did a very nice job on the hot water heater. Our hot water heater had lasted 15 years and was still going strong but we wanted to get a jump on it just in case. The installation was done quickly even though there was no emergency. I do not write many reviews but Roto-Rooter went above and beyond. As a side note, the family owner's are pleasant to talk to. Good job.

The toilet in our RV was clogged and on a Sunday I booked an appointment on their website. They were out the very next day and fixed everything. I was so grateful and would highly recommend them. Technicians were very professional and worked hard to make sure drains were completely cleared 👍👏

Our sewer was backing up into the bathtub so I called for service. Scheduled for afternoon, I was told. Received call that they were on their way around 2:00. At 3:15 I called again to see when they would be here only to be told nothing was scheduled for my address. They had my phone number correct, on someone else's ticket. This was from the same person who took my initial request no less! She then asked if I would like to schedule service!! To have the same thing happen? I don't think so....I am editing this post to thank you, respectfully, for your reply. Being in the service industry for the past 25 years, I completely understand getting overwhelmed and making mistakes. I must say the CSR remained friendly during my second call. That was refreshing! I do appreciate your offer, and will be calling on you again.

I have used roto-rooter for years! tom for my plumbing issues and nathan for my drain cleaning. both are very professional and gets the job done! I highly recommend this company!

I wanted to add that in addition to my positive experience with Kelly, my technician... The lady on the phone (I don't know her name) was very friendly and helpful. She communicated a lot about a somewhat complicated scheduling process, place of service, etc. Thank you, Ma'am.

Called them on basement drain issues, and had them clean up both the sewer line and the basement drain line. (which I had not had cleared since they put in my seamless line almost 20 years ago....yea, it was time for a cleaning!) A really nice young man (I THINK his name was James) showed up and within an hour had me all set! Prompt, friendly, quick, accurate, what more can I say? Knowing I have folks like these to handle my issues gives me great peace of mind. VERY happy customer.

Oh please don't take this the wrong way. We were not able to use your service again due to our landlord's negligence. You serviced our address last year for a sewer issue. Did a wonderful job, but due to them, you couldn't do it again. We had to use a different service, at our expense.

I would definitely recommend this company for anyone having plumbing issues. The staff is very knowledgeable and helpful! Justin has been wonderful with fixing anything we throw at him and has had great patience with us. We believe that he is definitely an asset to your company! Keep up the great work Justin!

I called Roto-Rooter after I was charged a ridiculous price ($560) from a different company. The person whom I spoke with on the phone was friendly and after speaking briefly stated that a technician would be in contact with me about our situation. They called not even 10-15 minutes later. Keep in mind I had called them around 7 p.m and was surprised with how fast their response time was, I had a toilet where the clean out was clogged and needed to be drained.

The technicians on site communicated effectively and kept us up to date on what task they were doing. I wish I would have gotten their names because they were really great! They got the job done within 45 minutes to an hour and even put lining down to keep the area clean. I would highly recommend them to anyone who needs services.

I refuse to use this company based solely on the fact that they are some of the worst drivers in this city. I can’t count the number of times one of these trucks has almost caused a wreck. From trying to shove me off the road to drivers texting while behind the wheel, it’s aggravating. Maybe take drivers ed if you’re going to drive around in a giant advertisement for your company.

Byron came to unclog a very nasty backed up sewer. He had to dig up the sewer outside and snake it. He was extremely professional and calm even though the job was probably the worst sewer back up I have ever seen. I've been a plumber for 22 years so I have seen plenty. I don't do sewers. Highly recommend this company. From the looks of the reveiws all the tech are superb but Byron was exceptional.

My wife and I have used Roto-Rooter for over thirty years (probably about 8 to 10 house calls) and have nothing but good things to say about their service and friendly employees (folks on the phone and technicians who come to your house). Everyone who comes to our house (Byron most recently) has been knowledgeable, thorough and efficient. They get to the root of the problem, clean up and are finished. This is a good company in my opinion!

I should have asked more questions about pricing before I called. The last time we had to be roto rooted, they ran the whole line out to 120 feet and the problem turned out to be the cities. They even helped us call the city and get the problem resolved. I was really happy with that service.

This time, this young man turns up and I'm the wife. My husband was asleep because he's 3rd shift. The young man asks me if any prices had been quoted to me. I say no and he tells me that he wants to charge me 238.00 to clear the sewer line. No mention of anything was made and I agreed to 238.00.

After a while, he comes in and tells me that the price he told me was only for 60 feet of the sewer line and that our sewer line is longer-like 90 feet and he would need to charge me 298.00 to run the whole sewer. I was told that we wouldn't get the year long guarantee if we didn't run the whole 90 feet. The prices were written on his wrist. There was no pricing chart or anything official. It made me feel not good.

UPDATE: The Company sent me a refund check for the extra amount that I was charged. I would like to thank them for that.

Another local plumber tried to clean our sewer line and got their equipment stuck in our clean out. They said our sewer pipe had failed and in order to get their cable out and run a new sewer line the cost was going to be $5,500! After 10 days of getting the run around and now having sewage in our yard from the cable being stuck, I called Roto Rooter to see if they could help. They sent out Brian the next day. He took one look at it and thought he knew right away why the cable was stuck. He thought that the plumber who had been here before was inexperienced and got a ball of roots caught up that was too big to retrieve. He said he thought he could get it removed in less than 20 minutes. They got to work and sure enough he was able to get it unstuck, removed from our sewer line and clean the sewer line afterwards! They were done with the whole process in about an hour and a half! They packed up and the bill was less than a third of what the other company wanted to charge me to replace the whole thing! I am a customer for life! Thanks Roto Rooter! You saved the day!!!

I couldn't be happier. This monster clog had us down for 5 days with various family members trying various sized snakes, chemicals and hand plunging. We thought we were in for a huge repair bill. I called Roto Rooter and they were out the very same day! Tony whipped that clog in 40 mins. Considering what the bill could have been (with a bunch of auto mechanics trying to address) it was VERY AFFORDABLE. Walla...the kitchen is back in business and hubby couldn't be happier.

This happened the day before Thanksgiving and Roto Rooter was so gracious to be able to fit me into their schedule. The technician was kind, professional, and got right to work when I showed him the problem areas. He fixed the issue quickly and I was so relieved and grateful for the fair price! Always on time and reasonable amount to unclog sewer line.

We have used Roto-Rooter's services for the last 31 years. We have been satisfied with their work and have not had to have them come back to do it over. They cleaned up their mess before they leave and that was important.

They are very professional. Quick and fast service. As soon as I called the arrived at my house quickly.

I noticed an odor coming from the basement. Come to find out, my floor drain had backed up about a gallon of something. I called to schedule an appointment and to my surprise they were able to send a technician out same day. They called before the technician arrived to verify timing was going to work. The technician was very professional. Twenty minutes later, problem solved. Great job!

Our washing machine was draining water out from under the machine. I called Roto Rooter and Colin was sent out. Colin worked for over two hours to make sure our drains were running. Colin Cleaned the drain in the house and then got on the roof to clean a pipe line up there. Colin went up and down the ladder several times to make sure it was clean. When he had finished and the drains were running he cleaned up everything perfect.
In December I called another company out to clean a bathroom drain. I was told the drain was corroded and couldn't be fixed. He ran something down the drain, but it still took over ten minutes to drain. The plumber was here far less time then Colin, and the bill was way higher then Roto  Rooter. I didn't even mention the tub to Colin because I was told it would need robe replaced. When I took my bath the tub drained quicker then I could dry off.

We were very pleased with our service today. When I called to book the receptionist was very knowledgable and explained pricing. Our plumber Tony arrived on time, did a great job, and stayed to make sure the problem was fixed before he left.

Bought my first house and within the first week of home ownership, the main drain was clogged. I had nasty water blowing up in all of my drains. I was certain it was a major issue with the house and going to be a costly repair. Enter Mickey and Richie to the rescue! Poor guys cleared out about 20 pounds of roots from the drainage pipe in the freezing cold with a smile on their faces. I could even hear them laughing! They were very professional and helped me get a more realistic picture of the problem and the future maintenance costs. They were also thorough in inspecting the system beyond the present issue to make sure there weren’t any other apparent problems to be addressed. I couldn’t be happier with this service and the cost.

To Technicians Jeremiah and Justin, you did an outstanding job today! Not all tech's will tackle a difficult job like you did and methodically work through the sewer line to clean out the roots. Thank you for doing a job well done. I am one very happy customer.

The service we got was nothing more than amazing.

My husband and I have had two other plumbing companies come out to assess the issue when we had a minor leak, only for them to push the issue off on gouting and a cracked tub.. as the issues got worse we decided to try someone else instead of always calling our warranty. my mom suggested Roto rooter and they have done more work and put in more effort to fix the issue than the other two did combined.

I'm greatful for them and their determination to fix the issue enough to stay late. Thank you so much! You guys have saved me from so much stress and headaches, it's great to be able to use our water again!

From now on, Roto rooter is the only plumber we will go to when issues arise.

I rarely ever write a review but thought this was deserving. We had a clogged line. It was a Friday night and I had removed the toilet and tried what I could but couldn't unclog it. Decided I would call Saturday morning to see if someone would come out. I tried another reputable service first, and while they came out promptly, the cost was just more than I could live with. I tried Roto Rooter next. The lady who I talked to, who was also very polite, gave me an idea of what it would cost and said they could get someone out within the next hour. Even with having to pay for the service call of the first service, the total cost was going to be under half. Not sure how that other service can have many clients with that kind of pricing, but just glad Roto charged what I felt was fair. The technician called within the hour saying he was 5 minutes away. He was very polite and had the drain unclogged within a matter of minutes. I hope I don't need to call again, but if I do Roto Rooter will be my first call. Thanks to the tech Will and Roto Rooter. Great service.

Unfortunately, I am unable to review their service. Scheduled a root removal a few days in advance and had them confirm that they were coming Saturday between noon and four. They never showed up, and they finally called at 4:12 to say they were to busy to come up. Decided to schedule with another company instead of wasting another day waiting for the services.

All I ask is that they would have contacted me earlier to reschedule a few hours earlier. I understand that things can be busy, and I would gladly be flexible; but if you blatantly disregard your customers...well then you really aren't worthy of the customer's business.

It is absolutely disgusting to see how little they value their customer's time and a potential relationship with a new customer.

I ended up with all the same issues—bait and switch on pricing, doing work I didn’t ask for to charge more than necessary, no response to complaints. In reply to my initial complaint call, I got a letter from Roto-Rooter that was nothing but half-truths. I followed up with a lengthy e-mail detailing what actually occurred. I GOT NO ANSWER.

After a week waiting for a reply, I re-sent them my e-mail and copied it to the National Roto-Rooter Customer Satisfaction Manager. She passed it off to the Regional Franchise Manager, who passed it right back to Wichita Roto-Rooter asking them to “reach out” to me. Ten more days—NO RESPONSE FROM WICHITA ROTO-ROOTER—ZERO INTEREST IN THE CUSTOMER.

I’m turning 70 next month. I had an exceptional person service my sewer for decades who was prompt and thorough and very cost conscious for the customer, but he has sadly passed on, leaving me to find someone else.

Don’t call Wichita Roto-Rooter—there must be another company in the Wichita area that actually cares about serving the customer’s needs.

I highly recommend Roto Rooter. It is refreshing to experience an honest company that puts the customer first. The service personnel are excellent. They are punctual and the quality of their work is top notch. I recently had sewer problems due to tree roots. It looked like I was going to need a new sump pump too. The sewer line was cleared and the employee cleaned up the mess made. I made an appointment for a new sump pump. Today, two servicemen came to install the pump . They found that the pump needed its line cleared and then the pump worked. They could easily have installed a new pump but were honest and told me the old pump was working fine once the line was cleared. Our family has used Roto Rooter for over 50 years. and their loyalty, honesty, friendliness, and expertise are the best.

I called them at 8 AM and our drain was unclogged by 10:30 AM the same day! That is service! We have been using Roto Rooter for over 30 years now and it's been owned by the Farmer family this whole time. One thing that is impressive is a lot of their employees have been with them for 20 years plus which I believe is pretty uncommon in the plumbing/drain cleaning business. Why would you use anyone else?

Roto rooter is a wonderful company with helpful staff! Justin always gets the job done and makes sure were taken care of. Never leaves a mess.

Inconsistent. Took them coming out three different days, with different crews to fix the problem. Kept saying it was parts. Didn't show up on time. Did work without consent, without estimates, and then charged card without permission. Left no option for a second opinion. Unprofessional, will not use services again.
