I can't say enough to express how happy we are with the service we received from Frye Electric. We needed some new fixtures installed, a doorbell wire re-ran and a light post removed. Javier and Jazz were FANTASTIC to work with. They worked great together as a team, communicated well with us and even had a positive sense of humor. The work was done efficiently and effectively. This day and age, it's very hard to find a contractor who will respond to your calls, let alone show up on time and do great work for a fair price. Frye Electric is doing it right!

I had an outlet and a ceiling light fixture moved, and it was so convenient! Frye showed up and estimated the job in about 10 minutes, then got to work. They had to get into a tight space in my attic and did so without complaint or issue. Then, when the electric boxes were moved, they reinstalled my fixtures and even put in a dimmer switch for me. And they cleaned up any trace of their work. All in all, it took under two hours and they were very professional the entire time. They even gave my cat a little love. Highly recommend!

Very happy with the work completed. I've dealt with Peterman Brothers and Mister Sparky, and Jon and Ben from Frye were more knowledgeable and better to work with than either of those two. Also a fair price and they held to the estimate I got by email. If I need work done in the future, I know who to call.

Came out to fix panel after a fire. Very nice techs. Had to come back because more wiring was fried than originally suspected from the outlet arcing. Was able to get us back up and running in a short time. Would definitely hire again.

I had already had another electrician and 2 different appliance repair companies to my home without my oven being repaired. I was ready to cancel Thanksgiving, but luckily, I called Frye electric, and 45 minutes after they arrived, I had a working oven!!! Same day service and excellent rates.

Outstanding work by Frye Electric - in the process of replacing the panel and upgrading to 200 amp service they cleaned up multiple issues with the legacy panel. As they were wrapping up they found a gas leak I was able to have addressed the following morning. They went above and beyond their scope to point out the gas leak.

Frye Electric did a great job for us on a Saturday emergency call!

I had a red hot connection coming in from line side to the top of our house load center (breaker panel). This was on the verge of being a house fire if went further! I shut off the mains and starting looking for emergency help (on a SATURDAY no less). Contacted a competitor first (who shall be un-named), immediate answer service, but indicated they couldn't be out until July 6th!! WOW, so much for emergency service.

Then I contacted Frye Electric. Emergency service operator was just as friendly. However, I got a phone call from Hal within minutes to ask for details of my issue. He said he would make a couple of calls and call right back. Within minutes, he said Cody was on his way.

Cody arrived, did the inspection, was able to come up with a safe & effective solution! He was kind, courteous, and diligent to help us out! Cody expressed he wasn't leaving until we had power no matter what it took!

Power was back up within a few hours! Very impressed especially for a late afternoon Saturday!

Do not use Fry electric. I own a townhouse in a small association of 6 units. The electric line from the pole to the house went out. It was about 40 feet. It knocked the power out to 4 of the homes.The president of the association called a couple of companies to come out and this is the first one that could come out. It was about 2pm. The president was one of the houses without power so he was panicking to get it fixed. He didn't confer with the other 3 homes before agreeing to have them fix it. They charged him $4100 for less than 8 hours of work because they told him it was emergency pay. It sounds to me like they had him over a barrel and he would've agreed to any amount. I feel like they took advantage of a panicked older man. Not very good business. Would never recommend to anyone.

We spent almost $4k to have them wire our basement in our newly built home. During their visit, their crew spilled something oily in our driveway, and made a huge stain. The circumstances of their visit make them the only possible cause of the stain. I didn't think it was a big deal and simply asked them to clean it up. They were unable to, so I contacted the office. All I asked is that they clean it. The owner called me back and was extremely rude, refused to take ownership of the issue and said that if we can prove it was them, they'll take care of it. And hung up on me. Having spent that much money with their company and being treated so rudely over such a small issue, I am just in shock. I have NEVER written a business review before because I usually just roll with issues and fix them myself or most people will come to an understanding or do the right thing. Them making such a big deal over cleaning a stain blows my mind. He said he doesn't want to take ownership and get involved in legal stuff. Nice guy.... definitely wouldn't trust them again if this is the way they do business.

I would highly recommend Frye Electric. My wife and I were struggling with high electric bills and flashing lights. Within 60 minutes they found the reason for the high bills and fixed the flashing lights. And their costs to come out was very reasonable. We couldn't be happier with the results.

Great attitude and great customer service. Called for a problem at our rental late on Saturday night. Jeff came out and tracked down the problem and fixed it quickly. He was so friendly especially for such a late night call. In my opinion the fee was very reasonable for an after hours rate. I will definitely be using Frye for my future electrical needs and recommending them to others!

2 Years ago, we had an excellent experience with having our electrical service panel updated and our service pole raised.

Today, I called for what I thought might be an emergency. Hal picked up and was incredibly courteous and professional, gave great advice and offered to have an electrician come by to personally check on the issue. It turns out it was actually an issue with our electric provider (IPL), but through and through both Hal and the service electrician (Chad) were understanding and thoughtful through the process to make use feel safe.

We are grateful for their continued customer service. Highly recommended.

Some of the worst customer service I’ve experienced in a long time. Called and was put on hold for 10 minutes, had to call back to confirm appointment time. Said 1-4pm, but didn’t show up until well after 4. Very disappointed. Acted like it was an inconvenience to confirm appointment.

My first interaction with Frye was great. Had an electrical issue in my basement and the tech was informative and thorough and got the job done quickly and well. The second time was vastly different. I had to go back and rehang the fan they installed for me because it was wobbling so bad. I'm not sure if I'll use them again.

I had a great experience with Frye Electric. I called right when they opened on Monday morning and had an electrician (Zach) at my house an hour later. Zach was a knowledgeable and was able to explain exactly what he was doing and how it happened. We had our issues resolved that morning and know the exact steps of what to do if in a similar position. We will continue to use Frye Electric based on this experience.

I was greatly impressed by the service I received. I had a power outage in part of my home, and the technician was able to diagnose and repair it in no time.
The technician performed the repairs as quickly as possible in order to save me money. This is definitely a business that I would strongly recommend you use!

They came out and installed a 220V outlet for my electric car. Quoted at $325 and ended up being only $294! Great guys, quick service and honesty. Would definitely recommend for any residential job in the future.

Same day service. Very polite and professional from original call to the technician who came out for service. I had a new outlet wired for an appliance. Technician was very courteous and vacuumed up drywall dust when finished. Price was competitive with my previous experience.

They are the best...They show up on time and work efficiently. They have done several major projects here at my old 1910 house. They replaced the main power line coming into the house to the box and have added several new circuits. And the same guys came back after 2 years so that's always a bonus when the guy has been here and familiar with the work! Highly recommend!

Guys were friendly......just saw that my light they installed got dropped and is dented and smashed...of course they installed it facing the stairs..have plenty more work needed, but will look elsewhere for sure!

Seriously, great folks. They fixed my issue in a timely manner, were very professional, knowledgeable, cleaned up after themselves, and the final bill matched the estimate. I will definitely use them for future projects and any unforeseen issues that will inevitably come up. I feel that their price was fair.

Jeff& Blake were very nice And very helpful. It was definitely a pleasure having them here to do the job we needed done.we will definitely call Frye electric again.

They sent a guy to my house to give me an estimate. I told him what I wanted done, and he said one price would cover it. I asked him if he wanted to go around and count the number of receptacles and he said no, one price will cover it. They were at my house today and want to charge me $2000 more for the work the estimator told me one price would cover. This experience has been bad. I would not recommend them. I just called their office and talked to the guy who came out to the house. He acted very hostile and mad. I would not give them any business.

After writing this review I was contacted by the owner. He came to my house and attempted to make things right. He was a nice guy and made sure the additional work was done. I was still charged for it, but it was a lesser amount. It doesn't change my other contact with this company.

Update 3/30:
Frye Electric sent out a second technician to complete our original service call today. Javier was a superstar! He was friendly, efficient, and committed to making sure we were satisfied with his work. He brought the necessary equipment and identified the problem quickly. We couldn't be happier with this second chance experience! We would gladly give FIVE STARS for Javier's work!!!

Original review for 3/27:
Our oven and a few outlets were not receiving any power. My husband is pretty handy, but he couldn't figure out the problem. He made an appointment with Frye Electric and informed them of the issue and what he had already done in the way of investigating the problem. Unfortunately, he was unable to be home for the appointment.
While I was entertaining and chasing after two little kids, our technician began looking into the problem. About 20 minutes in, he tells me he doesn't know what's wrong and my options are to schedule another appointment to trace the line with the line tester or open up drywall and re-run the line. I asked why he couldn't trace the line now and he informed me that the line tester is equipment that had to be specially requested (???!). On account of how I'm not an electrician, how would I know to request it? But I digress...
He then looked around for another hour. Then proceeded to reiterate that they would have to come back another day and my total was $233 (!!!!!!!!!!!). For what?! I asked. A $65 trip charge and an hour and a half of time charged in 30 minute increments. And now I'll be expected to shell out for another trip??
I called a couple other electricians who confirmed that they bring line testers to every trip as it's a basic tool. I believe the technician knew after 20 minutes that he wasn't able to complete my repair at that time, so it seems as though he burned up another hour to jack up the total cost.
I did call the company, but was told that all supervisors were on vacation. My husband talked to someone the next morning and made another appointment with the agreement that the second trip charge would be waived and $55 refunded from the first appointment. Maybe I'm being difficult, but I am still not satisfied with service, especially when we will end up paying over $200 BEFORE ANY ACTUAL REPAIRS. Who can afford to use this company at this rate?

Notice at 7pm I had electric sparks coming from my electrical panel and need someone immediately. Gave Frye a call and someone was supposed to come out. I received a call when I answered there was no response. Tried to call back many times but went straight to voicemail and could not leave a message. Even tried the main line to no avail. No one ever showed up.So much for 24 hr service.

Seemed like a good deal even though over market price; installed a dryer outlet in the kitchen for the range. Also, left live wires exposed under the house (which were paid for to be terminated at the box), and installed recess lighting were cabinets would go (guy said the distance was one door from cabinets and he told they are pro forma measurements for our install. To top it off, pretty much accused me of lying when all I asked was
Plug to swapped out. Owner, Hal Frye, told me to go buy part and swap out myself since I did not find it necessary for him to verify personally when I could send a pic after Michael made an appointment. He cancelled because we would not let the owner bully us and refuse to apologize after hanging up. Stay away.

Closed for good and out of business... why why why did you have to leave??? Was one of my most favorite places to stop in on my way through north indy. Hopefully we will start seeing their overstock inventory hitting the auction block soon! I don't think they had a closeout sale at all.

This company is rude and unprofessional. Had them out to my house to fix a problem. They walked around my house for 6.5 hours. They supposedly fixed the problem. As they were getting ready to leave we noticed our armoire in our room was broken severely. They discounted our bill 50 dollars for a 400 dollar piece of furniture, not anywhere close to what we paid for it. The sad part is, is that the employess weren't even going to tell us they had broken it. And here we are today with the same problem. So im pretty sure they just put a bandaid on the problem to begin with. Called the company just to be hung up on and told to find another electric company because of our attitude. Yes i have an attitude its the same problem they supposedly fixed.

Personally I've never had work done but the company I work for has. Based soley on the phone call with the owner that I just overheard, I will never encourage anyone to use Frye Electric. I won't go into details but how a company has made it this far with that type of leadership is beyond me. Certainly no way to run a business in my opinion. If you choose to use them, I hope your experience is more pleasant than ours.

Had new circuits run from basement box through crawlspace to desired location. The crew was great to work with and highly professional. Overall, a great value of service and cost. I have used them for two projects thus far, and they will be my first choice for any future work I may have.

Eric F. did fantastic work - very personable, intelligent, and explained everything he was doing. . Had 5 lights that wouldn't work. Had two single switches, a three-way, and a four-way. Told Eric the situation and he immediately began troubleshooting and had it figured out within 15 minutes. He replaced the bad switches and tested everything to make sure everything worked. Very reasonable price, excellent work, and definitely recommend.

Requested an estimate for electrical work. Greg came and gave me a hand written estimate and a printed one [ which I could read ] was mailed a couple of days later. I had questions about the estimate that I wanted clarified so I called and left a voice call requesting a call back. Nothing.
Called back again and contacted him while Greg was out of the office and he informed me you would call me when he got back to the office. Nothing. Today I call and reached Greg when he was in the warehouse and he said he would call me back. Nothing. OBVIOUSLY they don't want my business. They could have said so in the beginning. WiIl look elsewhere now.

Great company. Didn't go with them but they were my 2nd choice. They got back with me very quickly. Had alot of damage on house from wind storm the night before Thanksgiving... and they got back with me, quoted me a price.. very nice people. Professional

I am a property manager and have used Frye several times on homes that I have under contract. These guys know their stuff. They are prompt and get right to it. Knowledgeable and reasonable in cost, too. Let's face it, a licensed electrician isn't going to work for nothing, but I don't want to be gouged, either. Their prices are what I would call reasonable, and I've always been satisfied. From the lady who answers the phone, to Michael who does the scheduling, right down to the electricians they send out, is is a pleasant experience throughout. Frye Electric does an amazing job every year lighting our huge Christmas tree in front of our home. Not only do we enjoy it, several people we didn't previously know have stopped to thank us for the joy and beauty it adds to their Christmas season. Many thanks to the great crew at Frye Electric!

Called to make appointment. Went to voicemail. When he finally called back he was rather rude and short with me.
I guess my job was too small for their criteria.

I needed help with a breaker that kept tripping. The electrician arrived, asked me a few questions, and found the short in the wiring within 5 minutes. Then he fixed it, and offered to do any other electrical work for free since he had time left open for the service call. Great service!

Just had IPL out at 10:30 PM because of power going in and out, come to find out that the installer did not contact IPL when installing the upgraded. All of the connection was not done correctly. IPL stated it was a miracle that our house did not catch on fire. Make sure Frye contact IPL when doing any work or you contact them for proper installation. Thank God for IPL fixing the problem at 10:30 PM.

Frye Electric has performed several jobs, wiring a new addition. As well as commercial work at my Laundromat. They have always performed their job competently, and professionally, completely satisfied.

I am so impressed - they were professional, knowledgeable and skilled. They fixed multiple issues and helped me decide where motion sensors would be helpful- highly recommend.

My two previous negative reviews have mysteriously disappeared. Go figure. I would never use this company again, nor would I recommend their services. I was disappointed with their technicians, and horrified by the personal response from the owner.

Just had FRYE ELECTRIC try to charge me an extra FIFTY dollars because the workers went over 30 minutes, by THREE, YES 3 min. I had been quoted $128.00...he finally came down to $151.25, the lowest he could go NEVER AGAIN.
I had called for an estimate to have two ceiling fixtures replaced...no new wiring, on an 8 ft ceiling. I expected them to come out to give me an estimate, but he said over the phone that it would be $128.
