The electricians were very polite and professional in every way. I would definitely recommend working with this company, and now I know who to reach out anytime I have electrical issues. Kent and Jeanette are AMAZING!!!! They are A+++. Kent and his team are extremely knowledgeable. Jeanette from the beginning helped me in understanding the electrician world and getting prepared for our appointment. Kent came prepared and there is no task that Kent can't do. I needed an electrical panel to be replaced to bring it up to code. An extremely knowledgeable and friendly electrician, Kent, showed up on time and installed the unit. He was careful as far as protecting the floor of course with a dropcloth. He was extremely efficient. When he opened the panel for the first time, I was amazed that anyone could possibly know which wire goes where. Kent assured me that this was an easy task. He did a great job. Thank you, Kent. I feel so fortunate to have found Kent and Jeanette at Skyline Electric. Kent is a brilliant electrician AND a perfectionist both of which are qualities you want in an electrician. As anyone who has ever done anything home related knows, things rarely go according to plan. Electrical projects are no different. So you need to have an electrician with the knowledge, experience, skills and tools to just “figure it out” when something happens. Kent has all 4. Plus he is a fun and very cool guy. Kent and his team did an incredible job! We had recessed lights, pendants, and new light-switches installed by Skyline.- We had a great initial consult by Kent over the placement and size of the lights. This helped us a lot.- We used Halo Home recessed lights, its a new technology where the color warmth is changeable and dimmable from your phone. We had them installed and everything works perfectly.- The lights are perfectly alligned.- Gloves were used to avoid marks on the glass pendants.- Kent's team left the house in a clean state, great people, it was a pleasure having them over.- We received a call 2 weeks later if everything was still working. Great after care service as well!Overall exceptional work and service for a fair price! 200% recommended!

Kent and Dave were excellent. On top of what we called for, we had some problems with appliances installed by Abt that we didn’t even realize. They were quick, professional, and we really appreciated their help!

My experience until today has been very positive, both for my family, friends, clients and anyone I've referred to this company. I have sent no less than 3 people to them and my family has used them for both smaller and larger projects on no fewer than 3-4 occasions. And then today happened.Skyline was called out in November or early December to install gutter heaters into my 97 year old grandmother's 4-flat. The system was installed, though they ended up staying late because the gutter heaters kept blowing fuses (she has an older electrical panel). They managed to stabilize the system temporarily and we thought there wouldn't be a problem in the future. As soon as the January ice storm hit, the gutter heaters started blowing all of the fuses again. No problem! I called Skyline but this time they sent Kent. While nice at first, his attitude quickly changed later on. I'm the type of person who looks to professionals when I have questions and I rely on them for education and information. I asked Kent some questions and he just seemed annoyed. Upon his return from the supply warehouse, I asked him if I should turn the gutter heaters off in an effort to make things a little easier for him. His response was to call me an a$$hole (multiple times) and then tell me that it's always the person behind you that is telling you how to run your f#%king business even though you've been doing it for 35 years and have '5 licenses.' Excuse me? I've done nothing but try to help make things easier for you and if I've had a question, I have asked it (as any consumer would). I don't know everything and I'm hiring you for your time as well as your professional efforts. It's not too much to ask that you be somewhat pleasant during the process.On top of this, Kent did not wear a mask. At the time (01-13-22), we were in the middle of the pandemic and at the peak of the problems with the Omicron variant. Regardless of what you may think of COVID-19, he knew that the owner was a 97 year old.The bottom line is that the job wasn't properly completed back in December and the job wasn't completed today, either. Kent, after his tirade/hissy fit, decided to leave the job site without closing the roof hatch that he opened to examine the electric gutter heaters on the roof. My 97 year old grandmother was left to find someone with a ladder who was willing to help close up the hatch so that water and ice didn't cause hazardous conditions for her tenants. It's a shame that I will no longer be recommending this company due to the unprofessional actions of their owner. They had been great up until this point. Today is simply not something I am willing to overlook.As an update, we're still left with an incomplete job. If Kent receives an honest review that doesn't meet with his approval, his response is, You're on your own, as evidenced below. Caveat emptor.

Who knew an electrician appointment could be such a good, satisfying experience?! Jeanette and Kent are amazing- great communication, friendly, knowledgable, and trustworthy. Kent knew exactly what was wrong and got to work replacing the breaker in my electric panel as well as the outlet on our patio. He was done in 30 minutes but did a thorough inspection, efficient without feeling rushed. I highly recommend them and they will definitely be my go-to referral. Thanks!

Beyond happy with skyline electric. After calling 2 HVAC companies as well as my building maintenance, everyone was clueless on the power trouble I was having with my thermostat. I heard 3 times that installing a low-voltage system in my unit would be impossible.Kent came out and within an hour the job was done. Now I can enjoy having a Google nest without issue! Couldn’t recommend enough!

When you buy a new house, there's nothing better than finding your guys. (Or gals. No sexism here.) Now we've got our electrical guy! Kent's the best. He's super fast to respond to texts and calls. And he's really efficient in diagnosing issues. He installed a complicated chandelier for us, then figured out why we seemingly had no power running to our smoke & carbon monoxide detectors. He's a Nest installer, too, which is harder to find than you'd think. We've had several contractors in who obviously didn't know a thing about it. After everything Kent did for us, he charged us a ridiculously reasonable amount and was on his way. I'll absolutely use him for all electrical everything in the future. Just keep in mind, he may not be able to get to you right away, but he will get to you, and it'll be well worth it. Pro tip: Make the guy some coffee. He likes coffee.

Kent and Alex were very responsive, personable, and did an outstanding job with all the work I needed completed in a timely manner. They took the time to always be sure and ask if I was satisfied with the job they were doing before they completed their work, and were also very careful to clean up their work area each day before leaving my house. Kent was knowledgeable and wasted no time in fixing a panel with poor wiring, and fixed my motion-sensor switch issues. He also explained simple how-tos so that I can manage on my own. No fuss, fixed my problem and left me with good information. Pricing was upfront, transparent and honest, no hidden fees.

I found this company based on google reviews, and they did not let me down. I had Kent wire my entire security system in my new home. He and his crew were not only a pleasure to be around (which is such a bonus), but cared about the quality of their work and that everything was done properly in a timely manner. I cannot say enough great things about Skyline Electric - Kent and Nic did an amazing job installing several light fixtures in my new condo. They were extremely knowledgeable, quick and professional, leaving the place spotless when they left. Jeanette in the office was also really great to work with - very communicative and responsive, even managing to get all of the necessary approval forms to my building's management office within 24 hours (which they hand delivered). Skyline Electric installed the electrical wiring and GFCI panel needed for our hot tub. They were quick to provide a quote and do the initial wiring prior to the winter weather. They were able to reschedule multiple times due to delays in the hot tub delivery, but when it finally arrived they were right on time to finish the install. Skyline Electric is great! My experience with Skyline electric has been nothing short of amazing. I needed help with fixing my thermostat for a line voltage HVAC system. It was a challenging job that not many could do and most of the people I reached out to were reluctant since the task involved was complex. Kent from Skyline electric was brilliant – he was knowledgeable and understood my need from our initial conversation.He even went the extra mile to ensure I was confident and comfortable with this installation by showing examples of successful installations at various other condos. He was prompt and very professional. He even recommended we install a four-position switch that would help set fan speed as required.I am completely satisfied with his quality of service and cost. These guys are great. I hired Skyline to fix the front and back lights for our 3 story building in Lincoln Park a couple of years ago, and had them work on multiple things for my own condo today. They are all very professional and knowledgeable!Both Kent from a couple of years ago, and Tom with his buddy boy helper :) who were here today, did a great job. And when Tom did not have a tool he needed to cut the kitchen island cabinet, so that it would not crack, he called the office and had the right tools delivered very quickly. I had a superior experience with Skyline Electric. They are great electricians, handle the administrative details accurately and efficiently and they take the time to make sure the customer is happy with the outcome!When I called (after reading YELP reviews) I gave info on what problems I had (along with what I thought needed to be done). I was surprised to receive a call from the owner. He wanted to work with me over the phone to possibly resolve the issue (for free!) and eliminate the need for a service call. Who does that?? We weren't able to fix it, so his guys came out. Very professional and friendly. We still had problems with an old fixture. The owner came to work with his crew, but didn't charge me for this extra time. My bill was very reasonable and all matters were fixed. Skyline is now my electrician. They are a real find

Beyond helpful. Came home to all power in just my condo unit being out with no obvious problem at the circuit breaker. They were able to troubleshoot the problem immediately over the phone tracking the issue down to my building’s main breaker and walked me through how to reset it in minutes which solved my problem. Professional and were genuinely interested in solving my issue without scheduling unnecessary appointments, sketchy quotes, etc. They will be my go to electricians from now on.

Kent was great to work with. We recently bought a home that needed extensive electrical work (replacing and moving an electrical panel) in order to install a new electric hot water heater and Kent and Aldo got it done quickly and at a reasonable price. Scheduling was very flexible - the job was done over the weekend which worked best with my schedule. Kent does quality work and doesn't cut any corners - it is rare to find a tradesman you can trust. I'm not one to go out of my way to write reviews, but I feel compelled to do so for Skyline Electric. I truly cannot say enough good things about my experience. They were incredibly easy to work with and even managed to accommodate our urgent needs on a Sunday. Kent was very friendly and knowledgeable, and solved our problem within minutes. I called on a Sunday, and Kent was able to come to the house ASAP (within 30 minutes). Over the phone, Kent immediately diagnosed the problem we had been dealing with for over a week. He was able to thoroughly explain the cause of the problem, the fix, as well as how to prevent a recurrence of the issue. I can not say enough good things about this company. We had them install 26 lights, install a chandelier/fan box, replace 4 lights, move a light switch, add 2 outlets, move another outlet, and remove 2 different outlets. it was 3 full days worth of work, the guys were here right on time everyday, very friendly, and more importantly, trustworthy. They were responsive with all the questions, and flexible with changes we made after the quote. All the guys really know their stuff and double, if not triple check their work. Kent, the supervising electrician is like a magician when it comes to making things happen that most electricians would have to spend a lot of time figuring out how to make it work. It seemed like Kent researches the latest and greatest technology because he was able to comfortably explain all our options when it came to the different housings and light switches. We are extremely satisfied with the quality of their work and will be hiring them again in the future.

Let me first say, that I have not officially retained Skyline for their services, but I wanted to give them a shout out for helping me when I was in a bind. I have been trying to close on my condo for 3 months now and have experienced several delays (none Skyline related) along the way. We were finally in the home stretch when my lender flagged the electrical panel as possibly needing repairs. This would yet again delay our closing which was particularly bad timing as our lease is running out and winter is quickly approaching. Due to me talking to Skyline over a month ago to inquire about an initial quote, I knew that the panel was working fine. So on short notice I reached out to them to craft a statement to send to my lender stating as such. I called them at 8:50 in the morning and by 9:50 I had not one but two statements from them that I could send to my lender to help me close on time.I will definitely give Skyline a call when I am ready to do an upgrade. Based on the reviews it sounds like their actual work is as phenomenal as their customer service. Thank you Skyline Electric!!

Kent is amazing! He gets the job done quickly and inexpensively. He was able to work through some issues we had with our wiring. He definitely went the extra mile and make sure we were satisfied after the job was completed. I would highly recommend him for any electrical work whatsoever.

Unlike a couple other electricians I had contacted, he called me back right away, scheduled an appointment the next morning and was able to come and go in a couple hours. Had a great first experience with Skyline Electric today installing my NEST thermostat in my apartment. Jeanette was great and explained what I needed to provide, Kent was very friendly and knowledgeable, and quickly installed a converter and the NEST, leaving it ready to go in less than two hours. Kent from Skyline Electric just did a remarkable job for me. I first asked him in to solve an electrical problem with my furnace which two other tradesmen had failed to correct. He figured it out immediately. So I asked him to walk through my house with me to evaluate seven or eight other electrical problems. The house owner before me had done a lot of amateur rewiring, which turned out to be much worse than I imagined. In his walk-through Kent did a very professional, detailed analysis of each of the problems along with his proposed solutions. His fee , which seemed reasonable to me, covered eight hours of his labor plus an assistant.The job itself was a nightmare and uncovered more, seriously dangerous wiring problems (like bare wires touching old dry wood). He and his assistant worked nonstop from 10 AM to 8:30 PM. He did not ask for greater pay than his original bid. I would say his work was exceptional. He really knows what he's doing! His work is top-of-the-line and I have no doubt that he saved our house from burning to the ground.

Skyline did a great job installing nest thermostats in my condo. We ran into some problems with the thermostat but Kent figured out a solution and didn’t leave until the job was done! I needed somebody to figure out whether a problem I was having with some LEDs was serious or minor, and what I should do about it, if anything. Skyline returned my call within a couple of hours and communicated well about scheduling, and even though Kent's previous job ran a little long, he extended his workday to come check out the situation a couple of days later. After examining the equipment, talking things through, and following up the next morning, he gave me good, straight advice about my options, didn't try to push me toward expensive work that might not be necessary (I decided to wait), and, in the end, didn't even charge me for the visit. So, I can't testify to the quality of his electrical work, but I sure appreciated the integrity and the generosity. Very positive experience.

Just moved into my new condo and wanted a Nest thermostat to replace my old setup. I purchased the device from Best Buy and asked them to install it but the Geek Squad dropped the ball in scheduling my appointment and I grew very frustrated.Skyline came to the rescue and took on the project. What I didn't realize was that my heat/ac setup was unique and complex. Knowing this I realized that I picked the right company to do this. What I found reassuring was that Kent, who completed the project, was a certified Nest installer.Kent was very helpful in walking me through each step of his installation process. Through no fault of his own he found that the first device I purchased was defective. We exchanged the bad Nest for a new one and the installation was finally completed.Overall I think anyone else would have given up due to how complex the setup of my heating/cooling unit. But Kent kept at it and found a solution to my needs. I highly recommend Skyline. I plan on calling Kent again in a few months as I need a ceiling fan installed in my 2nd bedroom. Excellent experience working with Skyline Electric.Electrician, Kent, is a strait shooter and will tell you like it is. NO BS. Straight to work and completed everything like he said he would.Originally my appointment was forgotten about, but as soon as I called them they rearranged Kent's schedule. Not many places will do that, especially around the holidays.Very commendable work ethic with good pricing. Couldn't ask for a better electrician. Would recommend 10 out of 10 times.

Don't look further for an electrician! Skyline is busy but more than worth the wait. We have a baby on the way and debated whether it was the right time financially to update the lighting in our dark home and when Kent, Alex, and Chris showed us the finished product, we were speechless! From start to finish they were on time, professional, kind, and, coming from someone who cleans the house after the cleaning woman leaves, they were immaculate! They even worked around my 120 lb dog who wanted to be one of the guys, saving us from having to take him to daycare. Can't say enough!

Skyline Electric was incredibly responsive and got us an appointment the morning after I called which was amazing. Tom who came and did the work was friendly, professional, thorough and had the can-do attitude we needed after a series of failed attempts getting our internet hooked up. Tom helped us get a cord through the wall into our apartment that finally equipped us to connect to the Wifi. He was extremely skilled and knowledgeable about what to look for and where to insert/pull through the cord. He did it all seamlessly without even a scratch on any of the walls and was in and out within an hour. I would call Skyline and ask for Tom in a heartbeat if I needed anything else!

I quickly found out that they all take a message and call you back to you in the indefinite future.Luckily, I kept trying until I found Skyline. I was quickly connected to Kent. I explained my situation to Kent and he immediately diagnosed, explained, and solved the issue over the phone.It is rare to find someone so knowledgeable, efficient, and honest. I called this electrician from a recommendation from my realtor and Im glad I did. Before hiring Skyline, I had another electrician over to figure out why my microwave wasn't working and for 1 hour the OTHER electrician just put the test in and out of the plug, and after an hour they didn't fix anything but charged me. I called Skyline and they came over, understood what the issue was in a matter of minutes and came back the next day with all the supplies to fix my electrical box. Before they did that, I got an estimate from another company and they said it would be 3x more since they would replace the whole unit. Skyline said that was not needed, and helped me find a more adorable solution that fixed my problem! My microwave works now, my electrical box is compliant (before it was breaking all sorts of regulations) and Ive hired them again to work on some light fixtures. It's hard finding a trustworthy electrician and I'm glad I found one in Chicago. Will 100% recommend them to family and friends

After installing our Holiday lighting the circuit tripped repeatedly. Skyline sent over one of there team . Kent pulled a new 20 amp circuit just for the exterior outlets and solved the problem. This took place at 7 PM Saturday night and was all completed by 9 PM. Very fast response time , Clean , Fast and respectful of our home. The price was more than fair!!!!

I heard what sounded like fireworks going off in both my bathrooms at 4:30 AM. I called Skyline Electric and a sweet woman named Jeanette answered the phone sent Kent over to fix what could have eventually started a small fire if I had waited longer to call. Kent is an all-star electrician. You can tell electricity is second nature to him. He figured out a wicked problem that was happening to many of our lights. It wasn't easy and tested our patience, however, Kent was cool, calm, and collected and figured out the issue with precision and care - a lost neutral. I must also add, we had a number of laughs while he was here. A great electrician and a wonderful person.

The AC wasn't working on a hot summer Sunday due to the AC switch in our home breaker unit having connection issues (some sparks and tiny fire). Called Skyline (Kent) on the same day and he stopped by within 45 minutes to fix the issue. He knew what the issue was immediately and was very efficient with his time. He even under charged us. Excellent service - called Good Friday in the late morning with problems with 2 electrical outlets, by 8pm the same day everything was fixed! Amazingly they are open 24 hours! Kent was very knowledgable and solved the problem efficiently. We couldn't have asked for a better electrician. He even went out to get additional supplies as needed to make sure the job was done correctly! I would highly recommend him for any job due to his extensive experience and commitment to excellent service.

The wires on my hot water tank burned out. I called and spoke with Ken. He told me they would be here within the hour, and he'd come himself if everyone else was tied up. About 50 minutes later, he was here. About 40 minutes or so later, he not only repaired the wires, he also did on my other hot water tank (I'm in a multiunit). Needless to say, I hope I don't have any other electrical issues, but if I do, I told him I'd be reaching out to them. Thanks Ken!!!

I called Skyline at 12:30 am. We lost power in the middle of one of our late night parties I called Com-Ed and they told us it had nothing to do with there equipment. Skyline sent Kent and in 20 minutes the party was back on. The price was totally FAIR for that time of night. Vary professional quick response time. What a find! I'd been saving up a bunch of little and big-ish electrical jobs in my house for a while and finally decided to bite the bullet. Kent and Jeannette (his scheduler) were SO attentive and communicative with me from the get-go. He was slammed with some huge emergency kind of jobs for bigger clients, but he and Jeannette made sure to schedule time for my non-emergency stuff, and even offered to come to my place on an evening or weekend for no extra charge.He really considers every job equally important. His pricing was very competitive, and my jobs (from switching out some hanging lamps, putting in a new halogen bulb, to bigger jobs like bringing an electrical outlet to my outdoor deck) were not going to make him a millionaire, but he treated me like they would. He's a perfectionist and wouldn't allow my lamp to hang from the ceiling any way but the exact length and direction I wanted.Plus he's so much fun to work with. He's hilarious, down to earth, and has stories that will blow your mind. At the same time, he's extremely professional, knowledgable and meticulous about his work. He comes from a long line of electricians in his family and takes his work and your safety very seriously.And i haven't even mentioned Bob yet. Bob came with Kent the second time out, and he was just as warm, friendly and professional as Kent. My house presented loads of century-old challenges to them, but they did NOT charge me extra for the extra work. They stayed true to their quote. I love these guys and feel like I have electricians in the family now. I'll definitely be calling Kent for my next job.

Being an experienced and thoughtful consumer, I have a quite clear understanding of what I need, and what to expect.Given that, I needed a really good and smart electrician to put up a ceiling fan in my bedroom. It was a difficult job.. THEY DID IT PERFECTLY... It was installed perfectly, they are BRILLIANT in that they didn't have to rip up my ceiling, which the other electricians insisted had to be done, to snake wires and conduit thru the ceiling and walls.. Long-story short, I was replacing an outlet and blew out the circuit breaker in the basement of my apartment building (who knew there were two). After calling 5 electricians on Sunday to no avail, Skyline walked me through the process over the phone to see if they could save me a $250 emergency visit and it worked, all fixed! Friendly and helpful, I will go nowhere else in Chicago now!

I wanted my track lighting removed and recessed cans installed in their place. There was a small 4 x 4 hole that had to be cut in the ceiling. He did the removal, installation then patched and sanded the hole. You cannot even tell. He found a few issues along the way that were incorrect and corrected them as well.
