I had my ceiling, walls and trim refinished after a botched contractor job.They are the utmost professionals. They put a project manager and a customer service person on my project. They showed up on time and cleared the debris daily. While they went over schedule, they let me know well in advance and the reasoning which was great. They were courteous and responsive to any and all questions that I had.Couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Highly recommended for the next project

Great communication, efficient. They were not the least expensive however the business transaction was seamless. Raul was very professional and did great drywall repair work. You can see the before and after photos. I would definitely consider using Fix It for future projects.

I have used Fixit People for several home improvement projects both large and small and have always been satisfied with the work from their team. This time was no exception. Raul did an excellent job with fixing the water damaged drywall in my front porch/sunroom ceiling as well as the installation of new crown molding and new paint throughout the whole room. I also feel he worked really hard and went above and beyond to make sure I was happy with the work and helped resolve an issue I had with old bad smelling paint.Don the plumber also did a great job in installing my new kitchen faucet and repairing the water leak that was occurring as well as fixing the shut off valves so that I could turn off the water properly in my unit without impacting my neighbors.I would highly recommend the Fixit People and will definitely be using them for other home improvement projects I have on my list!

Fix It People were professional from the beginning of our communication. They responded quickly and the terms of their operation were clear. They showed up timely and fixed the gas burner that was not lighting consistently. When the door closer we bought was not the correct one, the technician showed us the correct one and returned to install it. Fix it communicated to us during the “waiting for the part to arrive process” and did not give up on the job, but saw it through to the end. They were polite throughout. I would recommend them highly.

We hired Fix It People a second time after the great job on our kitchen and bathroom. This time we had a pet door installed on an interior door and repair of a leaky toilet. Both were completed well, no issues with either job. We will definitely be repeat customers and recommend them to friends.Fix It People did a great job on a few projects including instillation of a backsplash in the kitchen, and removal of a portion of a bathroom vanity counter, repair of dry wall, and painting the bathroom. They cleaned up each day, arrived on time, and completed the work on time. I bought the paint that had been included in the quote, which was automatically deducted from the final bill. I appreciated that they kept track of expenses, and I didn't have to follow up to get the invoice adjusted. I would definitely hire them again.

This week we had 3 gentleman come to make holes for new lights, paint and hang the lights. I have used Fix It in the past and was only marginally impressed, however this time this groups of folks hit it out of the park. They were so nice and explained to me what they were going to do and why. They also made sure to clean up after themselves and it was just an overall wonderful experience. The people we had were Roger (lights), Robert (professional patching and painting), and Tony (light install) and I would totally work with them all again.

I hired Fix it People when another contractor did not fix the drywall damage from my toilet leak correctly. Miguel came in and did a great job! He was professional, brought materials to cover the area and surrounding area he was working on, did a great job in fixing the drywall and was easy to work with! I highly recommend Fix it People and Miguel.

I had Fix It People install a mantel/fireplace surround as well as a tiled faux chimney wall panel that I had made to hang above the mantel. Steve, the technician that they sent out to do this job was on time, friendly and super knowledgeable (20+ years of carpentry experience). I also really appreciated the excellent communication from the office, from my inquiry all the way to the follow-up once my project was completed. I'm looking forward to using Fix It People again, sometime in the future.

Fix-it people did various jobs for us. They painted a bookcase, fixed some repairs , put together 2 bookcases and hung many pictures. They were excellent, friendly and hard-working. We plan to have them come back for some items in next month that we weren’t quite ready for them to do! I would definitely recommend

Professional and easy to work with. Would definitely recommend! They can do all different types of work, so if you’re not sure if they can handle your job, just ask. They aren’t going to take a job they can’t confidently do with quality which is reassuring. But they still can do a ton of different things for you. If you’re looking for the cheapest possible option, keep looking, but you won’t find another option as professional as FixItPeople. They show up on time and have a project management team that is highly responsive and communicates well. They also have a nice invoice/payment system that makes everything really simple and easy for you.

Very professional, organized, and well managed control company. Easy consultation via FaceTime or web meet, payment on credit card simple. The contractors work is great. Overall a bit pricey for handyman services (you can def find much cheaper), if I’m being transparent, but the organized manner they conduct their work has been worth the value both times I’ve used them.

I’ve used Fix it People for two plumbing repairs and the install for an access panel. The process of getting a quote and scheduling the work was extremely easy and quick. The pricing was fair and the gentlemen who did the work on our house were nice, considerate and really efficient. Fix It People is our new go to for any handiwork around the house!

Hired fix it people for hanging several large paintings. The estimation and scheduling process was very high-tech and efficient. The quote was accurate and fair. The installer Steve S. was excellent, polite and professional. I had some questions about the charge for supplies and the billing person quickly resolved it.

This was a great experience from beginning to end. The video chat for the quote was quick and easy. Once I signed off on the quote, someone reached out within hours to schedule the work to be done.Miguel showed up on time and was very diligent in his work. He put down canvas to cover our carpeted stairs and spread plastic over top of all our things (tv, sofa, end tables, etc) to limit the dust. He did an excellent job with the repair and didn’t take shortcuts.Super easy process, very impressed with the finished product.

We contracted with Fixit People for two fixes in our rental condo.  A faucet and toilet tank stopper ball and stopper.  We supplied the faucet and parts.  The job entailed more work than originally planned in replacing valves and plumbing lines.  We understood this and were fine with the upcharges.  When the plumber arrived at the unit, I began getting phone calls that he could get into the building but not the unit.  I couldn't understand this and tracked former tenant and painters who had been working in the unit.  All told me they had left keys in the keysafe.  Our former tenant had to drive over to clear up the situation.  The plumber had been given the code to someone else's keysafe and was able to get into the building with that key.  Our tenant showed him which keysafe was ours, even though instructions and directions had been communicated with Fixit People ahead of the service call and supposedly given to the plumber.  Fixit People gave him the entirely wrong information on getting in to the unit.  They did the fix, which entailed us pre-arranging with the building management to turn off the water to the entire condo courtyard while he was doing the valve replacements.  When we arrived at the unit to do final preparations for a new tenant moving in, the toilet was running non-stop.  We examined it, and could not get it to stop.  We contacted Fixit People, who came out to fix the problem the following Tuesday,  New tenant purchased a shower head and we asked that the plumber look at shower head and replace with new head if needed.  For this we were charged $180.  This is their flat fee for a service call.  A five minute fix, when the plumber was there fixing what he had left un-fixed on previous call seems unrealistic.  When asked about the cost, they  were unwilling to give any break in the price, nor to acknowlege that their service person was indeed there for fixing a problem they had left undone.  We were willing to pay for the time it took to screw on the shower head, but not for a full service charge when the plumber was there to fix a problem they had caused.Re: billing. When we contracted for a bathroom fix job with Fixit People we gave a credit card for paying half of the service call upfront. When the service was complete, we received an invoice for the balance, due within 2 days. We needed clarification on the invoice. Fixit People did address the problem and sent a new invoice. They also informed us that if we didn't have further questions about the bill they would go ahead and charge the same credit card we used for the deposit. They did charge the card for the remaining balance on the invoice with our permission. But this set off alarm bells in that they had kept our credit card information in their system and were able to charge the new invoice on that card. We now have another disputed bill with them. Will they simply use our credit card to withdraw the funds, since they have the card on file? How do I get our card and info removed from their system?

Fix It People were excellent partners in filling our handyman needs! Exceedingly prompt and friendly service. Will keep them in mind for my own needs. Also, glad to recommend to friends & family.

I had Leo as my specialist. He did a great job of arriving on time, explaining the problem/solution, bringing all the supplies and installing/painting my door on a timely manner with no mess. The staff also organized quickly and got it taken done in a week when others said it could take 6 weeks.

I've always had a great experience calling the Fix It People for minor household repairs and installation—mounting wall art and floating shelves, replacing bathroom fixtures, and more. They always do the job cleanly and professionally.

They did a wonderful job installing our accent wall, we used them again to install dimmer switches, install a ceiling fan, and move our chandelier to be centered to our accent wall.Everyone we worked with was knowledgeable and efficient.

Tony did a bunch of work in my place - patched a wall, fixed a closet door, hung a new curtain rod, replaced my hard-wired smoke detector, and hung an additional one.He was on time, courteous, and did a perfect job on everything.I always know I am going to get good quality work when I hire Fix It People!

$240 for 35 minutes of workTo be honest, I did not know home repairs at all. I chose them because I trusted their expertise and the online reviews. It turned out that I was so wrong. After the virtual walk-though with the estimator, I did not hear anything back for two weeks. After following up with them, I finally received a quote 30 days after the walk-through. They said the projects would probably take 3 hours and gave me a quote of roughly $300, including the materials. I trusted them without thinking twice and approved the quote. The guy came and fixed the issues in 35 minutes. It turned out that the estimator was wrongly calculating the price and time needed. So I paid $240 for 35 minutes of work (I did not need the materials as stated in the quote).DO NOT GO AND WASTE YOUR MONEY!!! Take your own risks.

I have used Fix It People on two occasions now and they are just amazing. This second time around, they had to patch up the bathroom wall (after my fiance tried to spackle himself!).There was some miscommunication with access into the building (I was not home) but Armando was so incredibly accommodating. He waited for an hour (on one of the coldest days in Chicago nonetheless) until I was available, and he did a fantastic job patching up all the holes, paint matching, and painting the wall to look absolutely flawless.HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!! We had a fantastic experience with Raul! He was on time, worked quickly, friendly, gave great advice, honest, and did excellent work.

Tried this service on the basis of a recommendation. Ultimately, they did a good job on my list of tasks, but it was a little slow getting from the virtual walk thru to the estimate stage and same to getting the first appt scheduled. And when one of the tasks turned into a more involved job than initially quoted, it too took longer to get to the estimate and scheduling stage. So, if you use them, stay on them to get the the next stage if you intend to ultimately have them do the work. The work itself was done well; two different technicians were timely, conscientious about how they left the work space, and completed all requested tasks effectively.EDIT: New fixture ended up being problematic and we had to have another company come in to fix it. We thought it was a tricky lightbulb replacement, but it turns out it hadn't been wired appropriately when repaired.

They performed demo and restoration for s heat pump replacement. Raul, did a fantastic job on the restoration. Looks better now than before the demo.

I used this company in February 2022 to help rehab an old apartment. I hired them to update the electric, install canned lighting and hang ceiling fans. Tony and Roger were very knowledgeable, prompt and helpful. I also hired Fix It People to repair and paint practically every surface in the unit. They did excellent work. Enrique worked with me daily and was a great help with color selection. One problem with plumbing required Brian to repair it, a very friendly and hard working plumber who went above and beyond. The staff at the office communicated with me often throughout. I plan to hire this group again for future projects, no matter how small or large.

Had several service people out to for various jobs (electrical, plumbing, and wall repair/painting). All od them were professional, knowledgeable, and efficient.Leo, who handled my wall repair and painting, was incredible. He treated the job as if it was his own home, carefully and meticulously working through the process to prep, repair, and repaint the walls. Every interaction I had with Fix It People was amazing-- from the initial paperwork for a quote to the work that was done in person. They are super responsive, thorough, and friendly. Very pleasant experience working with Fix It People. All steps from estimate to payment went smoothly with excellent communication throughout. They were willing to work with me to use some materials I already had for a drywall repair job so I paid far less than what I was quoted at other companies. I moved into an older home that had water damage. It was my first time fixing up an older home. The task felt huge, but Fix It People's technicians/handymen were able to walk me through it. There was a few times that the job became larger than planned. They rolled with the punches and left my home in great shape. I appreciated them so much that I already have a list started for them to come again!

We had some ceiling lights removed and the holes covered and painted. They did a very good job, you can't tell there used to be two hanging lamps up there. They did remove the light switch, which was fine, but left the hole there unfilled, because they said that was not part of the original estimate and that we would have to start a new work order to have that filled for additional cost. We would have been happy to pay more then to have them fill it, but I was a little disappointed that they couldn't just take care of it right there and then. I ended up just buying a plate to put over the empty hole.

I needed assistance swapping a ceiling fan for a light and contacted Fix It People. They were kind, responsive, and on time, and the individual that installed my new light was incredibly professional and knowledgeable. The price I paid was exactly the price I was quoted, as well. The Fix It People nailed my ceiling repair and painting. They showed up when they were supposed to, did an amazing job, and all of a reasonable price. You can't even tell that there was a bit 10x9ft. hole in the ceiling! I would definitely recommend them to anyone who needs help around the house.

Very quick and responsive, even with the crush of requests coming in these days. Understood my need to have the work completed quickly and made accommodations to do so. Painters were friendly and knowledgeable. They found solutions to issues they noticed on site. Facetime estimate was easy, although they failed to notice how dark my walls actually were, so forgot to include cost/time to prime in the estimate. I'd suggest having them come out in person if you're making a big change. A few small, hidden spots they overlooked, but nothing that can't be easily touched up. Invoicing system is really easy. Recommended!

I have used other firms in the past and so was fully prepared for unresponsive and untimely work. That was not what I got. The quotes were provided quickly and the team members they had were ALWAYS on time. Everyone they sent was professional and the work was perfect.I had a spot of water damage in my ceiling. Not only did they quickly address it, but they perfectly matched the paint so that you can't tell there was any issue at all. When they said they would be there between 8-10am, they were there at 8am. I could not recommend Tom and the team he has assembled enough!

I've used Fix It People a couple of times, and I am spoiled. Their service is just so good. The whole team is easy to communicate with, and I am always so happy with the outcome. Once, some electrical work didn't come out the way I'd imagined it, and I didn't realize it till AFTER all the drywall work was done because the lights were going in last, and when I spoke up...they just sent the electrician back out and fixed it all, very quickly. It was truly no big deal. We are also super picky and have been satisfied by the quality of the work done. And, each time the actual cost of the work has been slightly lower than the quote, which means that the budgeting and financial planning surrounding the projects has never been thrown off by Fix It People.

Robert and Don from Fix-it-People did an incredible job today fixing and installing things throughout our home. They showed up right on time, were very professional and finished the job quicker than expected.We had a ceiling fan installed, 4 hallway light fixtures swapped out, our kitchen faucet tightened, kitchen grout redone, and smoothed out and repainted a portion of our ceiling post some water damage. We contracted with Fix It People to do some interior painting in our condo. Estimators provided timely estimates for different scopes of work. The project coordinators communicated effectively around needs and scheduling. The painter, Raul, was on time, respectful of our space, did excellent work, and was responsive to feedback. Overall a great experience. Would 100% work with FPC again.

The whole process from start to finish was seamless. The estimate was competitive than most and was able to accomplish virtually. Miguel did a phenomenal job with repairing our drywall and reinstalling and refinishing our base boards. You can't even tell there was a huge hole in our wall from before.

After a flood in our basement shortly after buying our house, we had the bottom foot of drywall removed, as well as all our doors and trim. We sought estimates from about 5-6 different places. FIP's quote was fair and most importantly, they got it to us in a day. Other places took constant hounding to get a quote, if we got one at all. They completed the work in a timely fashion and communicated upfront about everything. There were some relatively minor communication issues throughout the project but overall we are extremely happy with the work and they really went the extra mile. Raul mopped the floor all the way out the door, they left things clean and the one item of furniture that was damaged during the work, they sent someone out to repair it within a couple weeks at no charge.

We have used the Fix It People for two projects and have been thrilled with how each of them turned out. Both times we contacted them through their website with pictures and an explanation of the project and promptly received a response with a quote. The first involved moving an electrical box for a ceiling light fixture so that we could hang a pendant lamp over our dining room table. The box was moved to exactly where we wanted it, the light we picked was perfectly installed, and the workers painted the ceiling so it looks like the light was always in its current location. They were quick and professional. The project cost came out above the estimate but it was worth it to be pleased with the final product. Most recently, we hired the Fix It People again to paint our office in preparation for turning it into a nursery. They gave us one of the lowest estimates and were able to fit in our small project the soonest of any of the companies we contacted. Since we were so happy with the work they did for us the first time, we decided to move ahead. We learned the day of the project that our scheduled painter had called out sick. No problem because they were able to quickly line up a new painter for the day. The new painter, Dwayne, was quick while still being careful and detailed in his work. The cost came within the estimate and was done in a day. We were originally considering attempting the painting project ourselves but are happy we decided to go with a professional instead since the work was done much better than we could have done and within a fraction of the time. I’m sure we will be reaching out to the Fix It People again for our next home repair project.

I had the best experience with Fix It People. We needed to paint our entire house and reached out to FIP for a quote. We ended up using them and I am SO GLAD we did. They were professional, on time, and did an excellent job. All of my friends (even the non-observant ones) commented on how nice the paint job looks. The lines are SO crisp! We will definitely be using them to remodel our kitchen. Use these guys — you won’t regret it!!

I've used Fix It People over the past 1.5 years 1. to replace light fixtures with fans 2. Garbage disposal install and 3. Re-installing bathroom vanity sink - each and every job they have done fantastic work! I will continue to use them for all my handy person needs!

I first used Fix It People to repair/paint four rooms last fall when we were listing our Lakeview house for sale (I am retiring and moving to Las Vegas so no more snow!). They did an amazing job at a very reasonable price, and I thought we were done. Our house just sold, and as we were dismantling our basement bar we realized we had quite a bit of drywall damage and painting that needed to be done, but we were closing in 5 days. I reached out to Tom and Taylar, expecting that they would say there wasn’t enough time to get it done; they sent Raul over (who did an AMAZING a job) within 48 hours, and now I can leave town knowing the work is done to perfection. I was in the hospitality industry for 30+ years and appreciate great customer service…these guys optimize that! I always go to real customer reviews before scheduling work to be done, and I felt compelled to leave this review, as they are a group of folks-from initial quote to finished product- who care about what they do. Don’t look any further, they are the best!

The Fix-it-People have once again done a great job at my house. I had a bathroom vanity and medicine cabinet to remove and replace. Mirek quickly pointed out that the Ikea vanity I had bought was not great quality and suggested I return and purchase something from Home Depot. I was lucky to be able to return and purchase a new vanity. Mirek was able to install the new vanity and medicine cabinet and it looks great! He was very professional and made sure to ask before making all fixtures permanent. I will 100% use Fix-it-People again.

I love working with Fix It People. They are such straight shooters and problem solvers. We were out of hot water but it wasn't a hot water heater issue it was an electrical. We were able to pinpoint that up front so they sent an electrician that was able to fix the issue on first visit. So easy!

I had the staff from Fix It People work on many projects on my new condo this fall. I have nothing but high praise for this organization. They were timely, responsive, and the work was done very well. Roger with electrical work, Angel with general carpentry, and Eric with plumbing and installing a beautiful new back splash were all in my home and I was impressed with their skills and work ethic. They all were professional, arriving on time, got right to work and cleaned up when they were done. Also, the costs and estimates were always clearly explained so there were no surprises. I would recommended them and will use their services again when needed.

Ray came in and gave our whole apartment a makeover with great humor and sensitivity to COVID protocols. We had a couple jobs that stretched out over several days, and he took time to explain what he was doing, why, and how long everything would take. He was also so friendly and warm and brought a wealth of experience to our home - ask him about his time in the painter's union!

Everyone was very courteous and explained things well. Whenever I contacted the office with a question or concern they were very responsive. Most importantly, the final bill was VERY close to the initial estimate.

This company is great for managing a group of small home projects that need to get done in a timely manner. They organize and communicate with the trades and work with you on scheduling. So, bottomline, you know someone will show up, how long it will take and how much it will cost. All of the workers that came were timely and professional; and, I especially appreciated the proactive communication from my painter, Heriverto.

I hired FixIt People after receiving an estimate for two undermount sinks to be replaced. It is my opinion that the plumber arrived without sealant so he would have to spend an additional hour going to the store at $200. My invoice was significantly higher than the original estimate because FixItPeople charges for this time as normal and part of the contract. Maybe I am naive, however I think having tools to do the job, like sealant, is normal to a plumber especially when the job is well articulated and an estimate is provided. I feel very disappointed and betrayed by their system. The idea that a tube of $5 sealant cost me over $200 amazes me. This was my experience and I share to help others manage through understanding their quote system and actual charges.

We have used Fix It People several times. Each time they’ve come over, they’re on time, polite with a good sense of humor, and they do the work quickly and very effectively. We’d give them five stars, and will keep using them as new issues come up at our place.

I had Tony out to do some electrical work and he was great! Efficient, fast, wore shoe covers and a mask. Brent, Denis and Dylan in the office we’re great, scheduled the work quickly and answered my questions promptly and clearly.

Overall very disappointed in the work I had done by Fix It People - I had two bathrooms remodeled and the attention to detail was just not there. Towel bars were installed crooked, faucets backward from blue/red hot/cold indicators, and the vanity in my guest bath still has crooked doors and the install team stated they wouldn't be able to fix it unless I had a new vanity shipped from the manufacturer. I won't be using Fix It People for any future repairs I need done. I'm leaving 2 stars rather than one because they were very punctual and friendly, however.

The best! We've been a repeat customer since late 2016. Fix It People has been an extremely reliable resource for numerous issues requiring attention within our condo. Most recently, we had a need for painting of a portion of our 20' ceiling; we are a 3rd floor walk-up to boot. Despite some definitive logistical challenges presented by our hallways, stairwells and the size of the extension ladder, the team rallied to resolve exactly how to accommodate the issue. The job was completed efficiently and professionally; the knowledge and capability of the team was with without question. We super appreciated the can do attitude throughout the duration of what could have been far more stressful. Thanks, to Lane and Michael for their time, attention, and willingness to go the extra mile for this less-than-standard painting need. We also had one additional area in a stairwell in which the stairs themselves presented a challenge in reaching an area to be addressed; they knocked that out quickly and effectively as well. We've used Fix It People for electrical, plumbing, painting, grout & caulk work -- you name it. Thanks to the entire team, from estimating the job through to completion. Excellent resource for all home repair needs!

Overall: I could not recommend Tom, Juan and the Fix It People team more for refinishing/staining wood floors.My fiance and I purchased a home with wood floors that were in desperate need of refinishing and staining from light to dark on a complicated wood palette (maple with + Brazilian cherry inlay = stained dark with a mix of espresso + honey stains). We planned to make this happen only days after moving in, and we were hopeful that the Fix It People would be able to complete the job quickly to continue settling in.Our work was done ahead of schedule, the workers were professional and respectful and returned after the day of drying to fix any and every small imperfection to make the entire floor look seamless and flawless.Great value and great people!

I hired the Fix it People for a pretty extensive remodel of my new condo and they did an incredible job. My project manager, Taylar, kept me posted on everything that was going on and made me feel very in the loop. She also took my sometimes lofty and vague ideas and made them approachable and attainable. The contractors were respectful of other people living in my building and of the building’s common areas. The quality of their work is top notch, too. They offered to come in and follow up on things after the project was completed, which is so helpful. I would absolutely vouch for them and hire them again.

Tom and Joey did a fantastic job on every single step of the touch-ups before selling my condo and even finished a few small odd jobs while they were there.Tom first did a thorough itemized survey of everything that needed to be done and sent it to me the same day.Then Joey arrived and over a few parts of 2 days was able to complete the entire job and executed all repairs to high standards. The Fix It People team of Joe & Victor did a fantastic job repairing extensive water damage resulting from an ice dam situation. Was referred to Fix It People by a friend, and had an okay experience with them. Their attention to detail could be better as the drywall they hung has some gaps by the ceiling and my quarter round does not match my floor. Even after telling them it should have been stained with the floor, they didn't do anything to fix it. Tom was great at setting up time to understand what I was looking for with the remodeling which was appreciated.The project was supposed to take 3 weeks and went on for 2 months. I understand not everything goes to plan, but throughout the course of the project I had to consistently chase down someone to give me answers for progress updates. After my sink had been installed, a week later the p trap slipped off and drained water all over the bottom of my sink which was frustrating. They didn't clean up the garbage after I repeatedly told them I was coming to paint the place. I had to remove it on my own.Overall, everything is installed and works but the attention to detail needs some work.

They painted our living room, kitchen and hallway. The estimate was on time and accurate. The communication was excellent all along the process. They did a quality job. They even did a little extra.

Fix It People (FIP) did a great job with my repairs. This is the second time I had them out for work over the past few years (last time was them completing a major remodel of entire condo after previous contractors defaulted). They were quick to stop by, provide a quote, and complete the repairs. Mirek of FIP was extremely efficient. He completed the job (replaced a unique rear outlet toilet) on time and under budget. It is not very often that you find an honest company that is timely and focused on the customer in this industry. I will certainly use FIP again for future work. Five stars all the way.

Darrin did an EXCELLENT job. He came over to fix the clogs in both my bathroom tub and sink as well as a drip in my kitchen faucet. He made sure to explain everything he was doing, did tests to make sure the job was completely done, and showed me everything making sure I was happy with the result. My kitchen faucet was so rusted that he had to cut it out but he took PICTURES to prove to my landlord that it was work that needed to be done. The tub was my biggest priority and its finally draining again and he made sure to be thorough. He was also extremely friendly and even chatted with me! Which is a HUGE plus for me when dealing with any specialty worker coming into my home. I felt super comfortable placing my trust in him and he is VERY good at what he does, I was beyond impressed. I highly recommend him to anyone.

This is my 4th time working with FixItPeople and they did a great job (again). For this job I needed a couple of electrical junction boxes moved and lights/mirrors hung. River arrived on time and was very professional and courteous. As we talked thru the need we determined it was better to switch course and get different light fixtures to avoid having to rework the junction boxes. This saved me time and cost and ended up being the much better option for my needs. River was thorough in his explanation. After I purchased 2 new lights online for pickup, River went to pick up the items and returned promptly. The work was then completely swiftly and with high quality. I’m pleased with the service from FixItPeople, will use again, and appreciate River’s attention to detail and high quality work.

Called them to service a rental. They coordinated with tenants, who were pleased and I didn’t even have to be there. Whole transaction happened seamlessly and effortlessly via their site and through email. Will definitely use again.

Early March, I hired Fix It People to assist with a garage drywall project. The project manager did a great job with helping me coordinate with other companies. Their drywallers did an incredible job! And they went the extra mile to finish early. I could not have been happier and I would highly recommend their services.

I hired them to repair the water damage of bathroom ceiling from the leak from the unit above. Intial correspondence and quotation was very quick (within min to hours). They scheduled date and time and projected 2 days projects. However, men did not show up on time nor shown courtesy to inform that they are running late. First day, handyman did not even work. Evaluated the problem for an hour and asked to come next day. 2 days project got derailed and delayed for 2 weeks. This tardiness from handyman and lack of proper communication from their team made things haywire. On the last day, we had to remind them to discard the trash. In short, it caused us lot of inconvenience. Final invoice was $300 higher than quotation depsite reassurance that i'd be discounted for the incoveniene caused. I would not give them business again.

I’ve used Fix It People for multiple project but this last one cemented them as my go to contractors. They just finished a bathroom renovation and it’s spectacular! They installed new tiles, moved some electrical, installed new lighting and fixtures and installed a new medicine cabinet. Their pricing is competitive but fair. Their professionalism is unmatched. I recommend them for any projects big or small.

I recently needed repair work on a closet in the master bedroom. I figured it would be a hassle to get a reputable person out to do the work. I found Fix It People online and saw they had glowing reviews. I talked to Tom who quickly set up an appointment. Tony arrived on time and quickly did the job. Looks like brand new. And when it came to the invoice, they charged the absolute minimum based on their estimate. It was really a steal. I plan on using them again when the need arises. Glad I found them.

I've used Fix It twice -- once to repair damaged drywall and, most recently, to replace rotten deck boards. Both experiences were excellent. The technicians were really skilled and did an expert job. Fix-It-People did an outstanding job of painting my entire condo: all of my interior/exterior walls, inside of my closets, all of the woodwork(base boards, crown moldings and chair rails, french doors, etc), removing bathroom shower doors, and repainting several kitchen cabinet doors. They also installed a new dining room chandelier. All was done at very reasonable costs and very efficiently. My condo is now camera ready to be listed for sale and i feel confident will add to its marketability. We took him up on the offer and were pleased with the timeliness and quality of the additional work.I'm adding a star to my original rating because I can see that Tom truly cares about doing a good job and making things right, and I completely respect and appreciate that.Original review:We used Fix It People to do some renovations and repairs at a condo we purchased before moving in. Our experience wasn't completely horrible, but it most definitely wasn't great, and I would not recommend using this company.The good:1. Tom's (the general contractor/manager) estimates were detailed and easy to understand2. The crew showed up on time and kept the condo and common areas very clean3. Mirek was the stand-out individual on the team. He had the best communication skills, attention to detail, and really approached the work as if it were his own home. If you do decide to use this company, make sure you get Mirek to do as much as possible.4. We originally selected materials that we learned were out of our budget, and Tom was good at finding similar options within our price range.5. We ended our work with Tom before everything was finished due to multiple issues, described below. Tom did acknowledge the poor experience and fairly charged us for the work that was completed.The bad:1. The electrician we had was not good. He seemed to get confused, he messed up the switches and tried to tell us that that's how it was originally, and he was generally horribly slow. I would not recommend this company for any electrical work, period.2. Tom seemed very disconnected to the work going on and to his team's status. We had to bring up issues with him to ensure they were planned and corrected in order to stay on our timeline. He would also send one person to do work that should have had two people, notably the install of our range hood.3. Speaking of timeline, Tom does not display any kind of project management discipline in planning. We had to prompt him to give us a project schedule. He provided us with a very high-level timeline, and he didn't stick to it. There were multiple occasions when we learned about delays after-the-fact. I understand that sometimes delays happen, but the communication was mostly lacking. We told Tom that we expected more proactive communication, and he did adjust to a degree, but not nearly enough.4. Overall, aside from Mirek's excellent work, the work quality of the team was mediocre. If we hadn't stayed on top of the progress on a daily basis and managed Tom to manage his team appropriately, we would not have been pleased with the end result.My general assessment is that Tom took on too much work and was stretched too thin. I believe he wanted to do a good job for us, but he didn't. He had really pressured us to commit to doing this work because he said he only had one team left for the timeframe in which we wanted the work done, but I think he would have been better served to let our work go, and we would've been better served, too.

I am a landlord that lives out of state. For all of my repairs and fixes, I use Fix It People - have since 2015. Their staff is friendly, professional, and I feel comfortable leaving keys with them since I can't be there. The repairs have never exceeded and hour and a half in time (they are efficient) and have always been repaired on the first try, even if they have to run to Home Depot to get a specialty part. I can't recommend them enough - I am a customer for life.

Fix It People recently completed a myriad of tasks in my condo including drywall repair due to cracking/water damage, realignment of an interior door jamb due to building settlement, painting the kitchen and two bathrooms, re-caulking a shower, replacing rotted wood and a loose threshold in an exterior door jamb, and installing a kitchen backsplash. The crew of painters (Rafa and Tino), carpenter (Tony), and handyman (Jose) did a great job on all tasks and I am extremely happy with the results. They completed the work in only 4-1/2 days and thoroughly cleaned before they left. The backsplash looks great, the door closes properly, the shower looks like new, and there is no indication that the drywall was ever damaged, since the repairs were seamless and the newly applied paint blended in with the existing color.

I was so happy with the work done by Fix It People! They gave me a quick estimate, were so easy to work with throughout the job, and achieved great results. I'd recommend them for any home improvement job.

I called the Fix It People to help with a door handle that had broken off. The team at Fix It were able to get back to me promptly via email with an easy process of approving quotes and such. Taylar was able to come get it fixed and was in and out within 5 minutes or so! Will call again for any fixes I need.

I hired this firm to hang drywall and paint. The work area was no more than 75 SF including a small closet. They did not show up the day I scheduled the work so they started a day late and gave no explanation. The two man crew working very slowly took 3 full days. The did the easy stuff fairly well but the they botched everything else .The electrical outlets we're not secured to the studs, instead they shoved bits of plastic under the receptical to hold them in place. They brought in a third worker to install the baseboard which did not match the rest of the room and they didn't bother to wrap the baseboard around the closet entrance .They were happy to take my money.

I’ve used FIP twice and they really do good work for decent prices. First job involved installing two ceiling fans and pendant light fixture. Roger was awesome and even fixed a switch problem I was having in another room. 2nd project involved replacing a sink, faucet, and garbage disposal. There were some curveballs on that one but FIP did a great job getting it right. Will likely hire them again!

I would recommend Fix it People to anyone that needs some work in their house. They were readily available to give the estimate and wasted no time in scheduling days to the work. The guys that came to my condo, Joey and Angel, were great! They were nice and extremely helpful.

We had over a dozen small projects associated with moving to our new home - from assembling a TV console to various baby-proofing jobs. Tony took care of everything in record time. Efficient, professional, extremely capable, well-priced. What more could you ask for?

Initial communication is superb- cordial and punctual. Then it goes downhill pretty fast. Took about five months to repair from flooding. A number of miscommunications including to haul the floor material ourselves. Lots of patching problems rather than actual fixing.

Have had 2 very difficult jobs with this group. The first - they painted a whole wall of my condo the wrong color and I did not receive a repaint or a credit. On the second job, they were supposed to reattach a plate to a drawer and ended up ruining the plate by screwing through the front to the drawer and now I am unable to find the replacement.

Everyone arrived on time and did a great job! The work was all completed on time and done with high quality, and they were extra careful to make sure they didn't damage anything. I definitely would use again!
