Ed and his team are fantastic! While we were under contract for a house, he wasn’t able to come by to give us a quote in our limited time frame, but used our inspection report to provide rough estimates that we were able to use to negotiate a lower purchase price. His team replaced the knob and tube wiring in our attic, added new outlets, repositioned recessed lights, and replace our main breaker switch. They did so with very minimal demolition to the lath and plaster walls. His team was professional, quick, and friendly, and they performed their work at a fair price.

I just had Jeff and Ben come out to my house to replace some outlets that had burned out. They were on time, friendly, and very professional. Their work was much appreciated!!

We asked for recommendations from our neighborhood HOA website when we needed electrical work done and were told about SJO. We have subsequently worked with Ed and his team to do extensive electrical work at our house on multiple occasions including installing a new electrical panel, new lights, switches, adding new circuits to add power to our garage and quite a bit more. I have worked with so many contractors over the years and SJO is one of only two that I have NOT regretted hiring. Ed has given us great advice on the work we needed done, including telling us the most cost effective ways to accomplish what we wanted to do. The team of electricians is friendly, careful in their work, always on time, performed the work properly in a timely manner and delivered what we wanted. The price has always been reasonable and well in line with what competitors charge. I feel very confident recommending SJO. I will hire them every time I need more electrical work.

I have used SJO on a slew of projects; remodeling, panel upgrades, additional outlets, Lighting installation, etc. They have always been very responsive, including a same day visit for an emergency at one of my rental properties. Their billing is fair and better than other bids I have received and I know that my homes will be safe, which is most important as a property owner. Ed is amazing and can figure out the best way of working with the tricky electrical I've found in some of the older homes in Denver. I highly recommend this team.

Electrical work is so complicated, and with everything going on these days, it's nice to know someone still cares! Ed is so knowledgeable and helpful. I'm a designer and hired SJO to install a multi-pendant light in a stairwell. I emailed a picture of the pattern for pendants with dimensions of the height and said if there were any questions I was happy to clarify. They showed up at the job and the electrician seemed to have not seen the picture or description I sent at all. I resent the picture and said I was happy to talk to to them if they had questions.

They installed a completely different layout from what I had then sent over twice.

Now they are saying that they won't go back to fix the layout unless we pay the same amount of the original install.

I have used SJO in the past but will no longer be using them in the future. It's disappointing that there was no communication through this entire process and then they are unwilling to work together to get this fixed.

I hired SJO Electric through my general contractor. They were hired to do a significant amount of work at my home: installing new circuits, relocating receptacles and switches, and installing 86+ lighting fixtures. SJO has been pre-paid to perform all of this work.

Mid project I discovered that neither SJO nor my contractor pulled any of the required permits for this work. Both SJO and the contractor walked off the job when I questioned this.

To date, SJO is refusing to return to complete the job. I was left with electrical work that not only was not permitted, it was not even up to code! Additionally, they will not speak with me or refund me the $10,585 they were pre-paid for parts and labor to install my light fixtures, receptacles, switches, etc. I have detailed invoices and a signed statement from SJO accounting department to confirm this.

Ed has been a nightmare to deal with. I wouldn't hire Ed or SJO to change the batteries in a flashlight, much less to any actual electrical work in a house. The electrician I hired to finish the job was highly critical of the work performed by SJO.

Ed came out and was great! He didn't say I was crazy when I explained my very bizarre issues with old wires. He did figure out that it was an issue outside of my home and not internal - he called the power company and had them right in to fix it. He also had great recommendations for lighting and will be back to implement them as well.

Awesome company to do business with. I had several other companies come out to give an estimate for upgrading my service. ED came out from SJO and was the only one to point out several items that the previous estimates had missed, including needing a second grounding rod as well as a ground to the water line to meet local code. As he explained, SJOs price was slightly higher, but the other companies would most likely need to add these charges on during the install bringing their estimates in line with or above the SJO price. When the crew from SJO came out to do the work, they were quick and efficient, even going so far as to relabel the electrical panel so that I would know what breakers went with what areas of the house. I have had them back several times to do some additional work and have been more than pleased with the people and quality of service they provide. I would highly recommend SJO to anyone needing electrical work done.

We waited 2 weeks for an electrician to come to our home. The breaker to the garage kept tripping so we were unable to use the garage during this time. The electrician spent 15 minutes and charged us $154.00 to tell us everything was fine. The electrician left and the breaker tripped again and sparked. He said everything was fine ...... clearly it isn’t fine as we still don’t have electricity on our garage.

I had a number of outlets and a light fixture go out at a rental house and the tenants had just had a baby so I needed to get power back on quickly. After calling a number of places and receiving estimates including convoluted charging schemes and response times on the order of days to weeks I found SJO. They had a technician who was available immediately and had reasonable rates with no emergency fee, no outrageous minimum charges and they were willing to talk through the plan to diagnose and repair in terms of what would be charged etc... The technician (Joe) was able to quickly diagnose the issue and hunt down the culprit (loose neutral wire). He kept in touch with me throughout the process so I never felt as if I was being taken advantage of. The summary: the circuit was repaired, tenants got power back, I paid a reasonable fee and SJO gained a return customer due to the efficiency and integrity of their service.

SJO Electric came to my house because I wanted them to give me an estimate to replace the entire electrical in my house (because I was previously told by someone else that it needed to be done).
Todd came over and looked at my electrical system and told me the issue I was having (for which I was told I needed to rewire the whole house) wasn’t caused by my supposedly too old and bad/unsafe electrical system.
He told me instead that the electrical system I have is actually good and doesn’t need to be replaced.
I was really surprised at this and I can’t say how much I appreciate SJO and Todd’s expertise and time! Overall it is quite uncommon (unfortunately :( really uncommon) to find an honest electrician...now I know I can trust SJO.

Highly recommend the SJO team. We needed an electrical drop solution for our production space and they installed great solution. On time, dependable and courteous service! Their dispatch notification system is incredible!

Do not use this group without a full quote. They convinced us to go time and materials and then charged more than we felt was reasonable. For instance they claimed 28 hours initially and when we saw the work sheet, the totals added up to 25 hours and without any deductions for lunch breaks. They had 4 on the team and yet said they had to find the office security to let them in (or out?) 3 times. Not sure why one person could not have stayed in the office if the rest had to go get supplies. Nor why they didn't bring the supplies with them. They adjusted the hours a little when we complained, but still charged more for canned lights than what we found for them through our sources and the overall work. And then immediately threatened a lien. I'd be cautious with them or you'll get some surpise billings.

Ed did some work for a client of mine. He was on time, explained the issues in great detail, did the work in a timely manner and charged a fair price. SJO is a great company to do business with!

Just finished installing electric in ceiling and hanging fan as well as moving electric behind a hanging tv. Joe was professional and one of the nicest service men I have had since moving to Denver. I highly recommend him and the company!

Ed did a great job fixing some issues I had on my food trailer. The response time was swift and the customer service was wonderful.

Absolute rip off. These guys bill like they are neuro surgeons and all they are in overpaid electricians. Are you kidding me that it supposedly took FORTY MINUTES for 2 electricians to find a fuse in the box that had tripped???? They didnt even replaced it, they just flipped the switch and billed 40 minutes. I tried these guys based on good reviews. I sure wish I hadn't and I'd be 250 dollars richer if I hadn't.

Todd and his team are an invaluable resource! I contacted Todd about an issue my mother was having with a smoke detector. Someone from Todd's office reached out to my mother right away. They then proceeded to rewire a smoke detector at reasonable price. They were quick and efficient!

Everyone was friendly on the phone and the tech showed up at scheduled time but it was about $270 to replace two GFCI receptacles which is pretty high for a $10 part and probably 20 minutes of labor per part.

We recommend SJO because of their professionalism, experience, and expertise.
