Dollens Electric

These guys are great. Had power fail at one of our outbuildings; they offered to come fix it on Xmas eve but I said after Christmas was fine. They came out on time, got it fixed, all good. Highly recommended!

We had a great experience with Dollens Electric—they helped us replace old wiring, install new outlets, and install bathroom fans in our home (including adding the vents through the roof). This is the second time we've used Dollens, first being when they upgraded the wiring to the entire house. This time they installed an isolated circuit in our garage and some can lighting. Even though it was a smaller job, they treated it just as importantly as the bigger job.

They answered all our questions, let us know and talk through our options and didn't do any additional work without letting us know and approve the price difference for our requests, rather than telling us at the end of the job.

Jason, Josh, and Elijah were prompt, considerate, professional, trustworthy, and kind. The work for our recessed lighting project was done quickly and with care, precision, and high quality. These guys are the best. Very knowledgeable when troubleshooting old problems from less capable electricians who were here for prior owners. Installed a new outlet in my hardwood floor that looks beautiful along with solving our where to put the lamp problem. Lastly wired up a cat6 network allowing us to move our router/hub into a closet off my desk.

We recently bought a vehicle and I contacted Jason and he came right away. The next day his son Josh, cousin Elijah, and their friend came by to install our 240 volt outlet with precision and quality. I would go to them again.

I had Dollens come out to bid on installing a standby generator and they were friendly, on time, and professional. They walked me through options, explained what they were looking out and why and asked lots of follow up questions to make sure i was getting a bid for everything i wanted and needed.

Update 9/2020 - Upgraded some thermostat wiring for me with a difficult routing. Professional and quick.

Update - Jason and Josh again came through for me. In the midst of a heat wave, they were able to come to the other end of the county and fix an electrical problem at my mother's house. Got the outlets for the portable AC and lift chair back working and made the wiring safer to boot.

Original - Could not ask for better. Jason installed a new 40 amp circuit and an EVo charger for our car. (No more slow 110 charging. Yeah!) While working in our breaker panel he noted a dangerous situation left by a previous contractor who upgraded our air conditioning.

(Side note kind of disappointing the inspector didn't notice that the other contractor put in a bigger breaker on a wire that was too small. Luckily the wire insulation had just started to bubble and it didn't catch fire.)

Within a week they were able to fit us in to replace the faulty circuit as well as rewire our garage lighting to eliminate some creative but scary runs of extension cords and re-purposed outlets. Now I have bright lights and when I look up, I don't see wires draped everywhere.

We connected with Jason of Dollens Electric through our equally excellent general contractor Dan Mackey. (Who by the way had nothing to do with the faulty circuit or the creative garage lighting.)

Lastly a thank you to Jason's son Josh who got to do the crawling under the house.

As an elderly person living in a 50 + year old house I had a lot of concerns. I called many electrical companies and I left many messages but I got a quick call pick up when I called Dollens Electric. I explained my concerns to the polite person who answered my call and she assured me that she would have an electrician call me right back. Within an hour I received a call back and within a few hours I got a lovely gentlemen named Jason who came to my rescue. He listens to all my concerns and explained things to me so I could understand them. Mr. Dollens as I learned later was very knowledgeable in the field and with ease explained everything. Then he did some testing and let me know the areas of concern but that I was in no danger as I was so concerned about fire. Once we arrived at the stage of contracting Dollens Electric I was very satisfied with what it was going to cost me and even more satisfied with the work. I will definitely call on Dollens Electric and recommend them to all my family and friends.

Three completed projects

We have had Dollens complete 3 projects for us. The first was a field solar installation. The sale was professionl and accurate..no unexpected additional charges were incurred. The project was completed on schedule and very well done..We are really enjoying paying only a minimal amount for electric service. We were so happy with this company that when we decided to do a kitchen remodel (complete) and then upgrade our old and faulty electrical panel we again had Dollens perform the work. They completed the upgrades we needed in a timely, courteous manner and answered all our questions and concerns. It is truely a pleasure working with this company and their staff was great.

I apologize for leaving a 1 star review earlier. I wanted to leave a review for another electrician service with similar name.

Unlike other companies that claim to use internet Dollens Electric actually replied to email available appointment dates not phone number to call to set up date and time. Once estimate was done job was done under 4 hours with almost no interruption to normal household life. They had to turn pawer off for a min or two but that was about it. Very impressed.

The guys who came out listened to what I wanted to get done and got right on it. I’m very pleased with their work. More business to come!

Dollens Electric is fast and efficient. They can handle jobs of any size, from small to large. They have done multiple jobs for me over more than ten years. I recommend them highly.

Dollens Electric did an excellent job finding & installing a new solar attic fan for me. They showed me online the fan they had selected, demonstrated how it ran before installing it & put it in the opening in my gable in 45 minutes. They did not try to sell me things I did not want. I did not feel pressured to buy other things from them. If I have other electrical work I will definitely call them.

DEC rewired my garage and several outside switches and fixtures. DEC fixed a cobbled up mess that did not meet code. I have complete confidence in their knowledge and ability, and in the work they did. It was comprehensive, met code, is clean and well laid out and everything works for the first time since we moved in. I would recommend DEC to anyone for any size job, with no reservation. I intend to use DEC again to fix more things that were not done properly in the past. Jason and Brian worked hard and smart. Their class of work/knowledge is rare and hard to find these days. I use them with confidence in the quality and professionalism! !
