I really hate doing this since I am also a contractor and know how sometimes a reviewer will not give an opportunity to make things right. However, I do need to make people aware of their shady behavior. I scheduled a window replacement on a rental property in Phoenix I owned as a part of selling the property back in January. Adam was the one that answered the phone, agreed to the time frame of install, took my order, and took payment info for the deposit since the glass had to be ordered. When I called to check on the status of the ordered glass since it was the day before the install, there was no answer. I called multiple times after that, sent text messages, and still no answer. So, I called my bank and let them know to put a stop payment/dispute on the deposit. I then sent a message to Adam stating that I put a stop to the payment/dispute, and then miraculously I got a call back. He then proceeded to tell me that he was tied up with work, and that was the reason he was not able to answer. He plead with me, and asked if they could still perform the install since the glass was in their possession (mind you, I had enough time between initially calling/messaging Adam to call my bank, and to call another glass contractor to get a quote and install date, before he called me back) and if it was not installed, it would just sit there. I reluctantly agreed, and the glass was then installed the next day. Here is where it gets bad. I called to make the payment in full with a separate card since the dispute I put into place could prevent them (same merchant trying to charge a card with a dispute with said merchant could decline payment), and received an invoice for my payment, and work performed. About two weeks after all of this, I see a charge on the account that I had the dispute in place for the original deposit amount. I called my bank to see why this was, and I was told that the merchant provided proof that the work was done which allowed the dispute to be resolved in their favor. At this point I called Touchdown Glass to see if this could be resolved, but again multiple calls with no answer. Once I actually got a call back from Adam, he asked for my name/address to where the work was performed, and then proceeded to hang up on me, and would not answer again after that. I have at this point chalked this up as a loss, since I do not expect I will get a response from the business. As a contractor myself that services residential and commercial clients, I feel that this review is necessary to prevent further loss to other people, and from the looks of Touchdown's recent reviews, I am not the only one that has dealt with their money handling issues. If I do receive a negative response, or if integrity is questioned, I will be more than happy to update the review by attaching the invoice I have retained from Touchdown to prove that this review was not mistakenly posted about them.
