It’s 7:23 pm on 5/18/22 and even though I have a sign that CLEARLY STATES do not knock on my door. No soliciting, no nothing…. I have someone from this company ring my doorbell, while I’m trying to get my four year old calmed down for bed.

I get this is their job… but when I have a sign that is very easy to read, I’m not sure why they don’t honor that.

This is why solar companies have a bad reputation!!! The companies need to instill in thier employees to not knock/ring door bells when there is a sign!
So very frustrating!!

If this was the last solar place on earth during the blac hole eclipse, I wouldn’t use them!! I would highly suggest you don’t either!! The fact that I have stopped down to take the time to write this should hopefully tell the owners how furious I am.

We are so pleased with our experience with Sun Run Solar! From the very beginning, our sales rep, Daryl Daniels was very attentive, responsive, knowledgeable, kind, and helpful! We were kept informed throughout every step of the process. I never thought solar was something we would get. After meeting our salesman Dutch I was totally impressed with the professionalism, knowledgeable and time he took with us. We decided to get it installed. I feel it is just a win for us in the long run. Yes it is a big investment and I feel you get what you pay for and we are truly happy and comfortable with our decision.

Installed just before Christmas. They denied wrongdoing but after an electrician I hired came out to confirm they damaged the line to my stove somewhere in the house. Haven’t been able to for 2 weeks. Possibly be longer due to waiting to set up a day to have an electrician run a new line since I opted not to have my dry walk ripped up. Communication is horrible between them. They did promise to pay for the repairs. But the out of pocket eating out is adding up. Ruined my holiday season. I really wanted to love this jump into solar with a company I heated nothing but good things about from a good friend.

The previous owner of the house that I purchased had Sunrun install panels a couple years ago.
The actual energy produced is much less than they claim that the panels are producing. They are trying to claim that the panels are putting out 1,000 kWh, but they are actually only delivering 600 kWh. I tried to contact them about the issue, but they were too stuck on repetitively asking me what app I was using, to actually address my issue. I guess their computer system was promoting them that it was an application issue and they were too ignorant to actually provide relevant answers.
Do not go with Sunrun, if you want solar. The cost that you will pay for their panels will be much higher than what you will save in energy costs from your regular energy provider.

If I could give zero stars I would. They offered me a sign on/referral card for each of my two houses and four months after install, on only one house, that card has never arrived and I asked several times after 90 days. The system worked for one month, then stopped generating power. I am charged anyway with the caveat that when their tech comes out, first availability was 6 weeks out, I might be reimbursed. I have two houses on my property, I applied for solar for both and only one has been installed. There were are permit and design issues with the one I live in and once they change something and you are not new business, you go to the bottom of the pile. I will be lucky if I have solar on my main house a year after application. Buyer beware of this company. I thought the affiliation with Costco spoke highly of them. WRONG.

I signed my contract with sunrun to have solar panels installed 2/2021. The panels were installed 5/2021. We are now 16 months into having panels on our roof and they still haven’t been turned on. 16 months!!!!! I have called, emailed, and even talked to the rep at Costco. Never any updates. Never an explanation as to why they still haven’t turned them on. We have finally decided to consult with an attorney to take action and have sunrun remove the panels. I hope we can get them off. Even if they were to turn them on, I’m not sure I’d be willing to stay with sunrun. What an atrocious company with non-existent customer service!

I installed Solar Panel from Sunrun through Costco. Sunrun lied to me to receive my contract, the majorities Solar Panels Sunrun installed did not work since they installed it, Sunrun hide information (the reason the panel they installed did not work properly). I bought large size of Solar Panel over $40,000 plus interest rate and refinance cost which I paid over $50, 000. About 10-11 of Solar Panels did not work since installation. I paid electric bill over 10,000. I tried to communicate with Sunrun customer service and they offered me only 2000 and repair the panels. Unfortunately,  Sunrun customer service is trying to ignore and dismissed my request for taking full responsibility for all damages caused to me.

Do not trust Sunrun and Costco. I only hired Sunrun because I trusted Costco.  They are unethical companies and they are trying take advance of customers. They took my money and Sunrun caused me financial and emotional stress.

I filed complaint against Sunrun and Costco with Sate Licensing Agency, State Attorney General Office, Better Business Bureau and Complain to the Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA).

I am going to provide bad review against Sunrun and Costco in Yelp, Google Review, Solar Reviews and others.

My next steps would be to contact my local government and local media regarding Sunrun and Costco.

Do not get solar panels from these people. The salesman said my roof will not leak as long it is not over 25 yrs and if it does to not worry because SunRun will cover it. I should have known better. Well it leaked within a couple of months. They fixed it but 6 yrs later it happened again at the same area! I filled out the online complaint form twice only to be denied coverage twice. The roofer said they would not have any solar company install panels on roof 10yrs or older since the intense AZ sun just beats up on the barrier so much quicker. So I caved in and will pay for the roof myself. I lease the panels for 20yrs. Mind you I do not own these panels. I lease them. Now I find out that SunRun will charge me 175.00 per panel for removal and reinstalling the panels! The salesperson failed to inform me of that too by the way! I tried contacting SunRun again but the person on the phone said there is nothing they can do and basically pay up! Please be very careful when signing anything with these guys. Please quote me on this, SunRun is a terrible company! All they want is your money. They DO NOT care about their customers. DO NOT trust their sales people. Before signing anything look at the fine print with repairs and guarantees.

I've had a number of service issues and am month 3 with no solar production. Their online chat reps are good at telling me who to reach out to in regards to my case, but the case managers are unresponsive. I had a case open that closed after a new inverter was installed, but the system is still not working. I will also be directed to reach out to their partner companies to address my issues such as when any needed equipment will be shipped, but I do not feel that should be the customers responsibility, isn't that what I pay Sunrun to do? So my system produces 0, and my electric bills soar. Then I have to wait a year for any credit to be issued on my account for my service guarantee while I continue to pay my monthly Sunrun bill for 0 production. Nobody seems to have any sense of urgency to get things back to normal. I urge anyone considering solar to shop elsewhere.

Worse company EVER!!! First off they took over 5 months to get my solar installed and you can never get ahold of someone. When they came to do there checks they forgot to turn my power back on and ruined everything in my refrigerator. When they were taking forever I called my PM Ryan to ask some question about why its taking so long and asked if my system will be big enough and I was worried he told me Well you can just cancel everything. He was extremely rude.
My main question to everyone at this company was Is my system big enough so I will not have an APS bill? and all I heard was yes... and now I have a solar and APS bill EVERY month. This is not cost efficient for me and when I called to ask question about getting rid of the solar they put me on hold and never picked back up. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!! Yes the price is nice but you will not get what you are looking for.

Do not use Sunrun Solar! If I could give them 0 stars I would. We’ve been stuck with them for longer than I care to remember and we’ve had nothing but problems. Customer service is a lady from India who doesn’t have a clue but what’s scripted for her to say. Recently we needed critter guards installed and they tried to charge us 4x what other companies would dot it. Now they are trying to charge us $350 to make sure a reputable company did a good job. Otherwise they are canceling our warranty. This place is a shady business!

I have had Sunrun for 2 years now and I was told “your solar will cover you APS and should only pay $20 a month to APS”. Here it is 2 years later and I pay $140 a month to you and average $220 for APS; before solar I was on a plan of $157 a month to APS. Now I am stuck in this 6 year contract and can’t get out. It took them a year to even paint the conduit on the side of the house and it’s the wrong color. Many things wrong but only selling 9 kw per month to APS I. Phoenix does not sound right, and when I called Sunrun they refused to send a tech out to check because their system shows everything is normal; APS said they don’t do anything with it except for read the meter. I would not deal with this company every again!

I mean to pressure a client into solar then telling them you can add on batteries later on when a system is available and it's available through solar edge but you won't honor the request to install a system said Customer purchased to an existing system all because of a special permit process give me a break just hook up them two wires and mount unto a wall and I'll up the review to four stars then 5 when I actually receive a refund because of excess energy I sell to the grid. I'm also writing this review during a blackout because I have no back up system hooked up because grid tie is half a solar system its just purely to make sunrun money . I sent a request complaint to the attorney general. Using head quarters in San Francisco .

My system has continually underperformed but the low minimum that Sunrun sets in the contract sets the consumer up to not be reimbursed financially for continual underperformance. Additionally the contract states that Sunrun is monitoring performance but they absolutely ARE NOT. If you don't catch it they will never tell you it is underperforming but will gladly ask you Did you know your system is underperforming? We trusted Sunrun because they were a vendor at Costco and usually Costco doesn't steer you wrong but this time they did. I would NOT use Sunrun for solar although I strongly believe in solar energy.

It's not a good start to a decades-long relationship. The installers didn't provide the correct documentation so SRP wouldn't approve the interconnection. Then my contacts at SunRun (Ian and Rhett) stopped answering my texts. Customer service was hit and miss (the live chat was terminated by the agent (Lari and Angelica Mae--two names given inexplicably) before she gave me an answer; when I called, the customer service rep couldn't tell me anything about my system and didn't have the phone number of the new person on my account--first I had heard that there was a new person).

I will update if SunRun actually gets back to me and resolves this.

Update (3/27/2023): So after several attempts, I have been in contact with SunRun, but when one thing gets resolved, another pops up. My system is now working correctly (after some confusion between SunRun and SRP (my utility) about whether the meter had been installed), but the app data is disappointing for two reasons:
1. The power data are incorrect, showing a peak of 0.8 kW when my system is much larger.
2. The power data are delayed by 24-36 h, which makes it impossible for me to optimize my power consumption to match the system production.

I am waiting to be contacted about these two new issues.

Customer service sucks! They have no professionalism, they don't know how to return phone calls or emails. I have to call or email multiple times before getting a response. The installers damaged an electrical unit that ran to my stove top range, which caused it to not power. I was left without power for my stove since December 22, 2022. Weeks of trying to get Sunrun to take responsibility was impossible. Finally they responded and said to call an electrician. An electrician was called and confirmed Sunrun did damage during installation. We notified Sunrun rep and told them they needed to pay this. They stated they would reimburse us for paying out of pocket with the electrician company. The repair happened January 10, 2023. Immediately notified Sunrun and provided the invoice. Consistently asked the escalations team and my representative where and when to expect the reimbursement check. Neither of them knew. Finally, March 13, 2023, we were notified that they supposedly mailed it out to the wrong address, which they are claiming it is my mailing address (which happens to be next door). I had to confirm my mailing address to my permanent address (which is where the solar was installed). March 14, 2023 is only when I get someone on the phone stating they were sending it to the accounts payable team to get this check reissued. I'm so dumbfounded on how my mailing address is different than the physical address where the solar was installed. My contract CLEARLY states my MAILING address is the SAME as the physical address. So who the hell screwed this up? On top of that, I have been trying to complain but no one seems to be the right person to complain to and just keep passing the buck! I now have a new escalations person assigned to that I haven't heard from. I emailed the escalation team over a week ago and still have not been contacted. The person now assigned has a voicemail that stated they are prioritizing their calls with people who live in California. How about this was a priority when i was left without a stove during the HOLIDAYS and had to spend more money eating out?! From the get go, this didn't go well. The sales rep that was originally assigned (as I was a referral from someone else) never contacted me and i was told to call back next week to see if someone would help me. Finally my case got reassigned to someone else that actually did help me. But after that it continued going down hill. This is the WORST company I have ever worked with!! Never would recommend Sunrun to anyone!

Very upset - I had my roof replaced 2/24 but prior to having it replaced I tried to get on a schedule for the reinstall they said they couldnt schedule reinstall of solar panels till work complete. Well tomorrow will be 6 weeks since my new roof (been trying weekly) ... I finially got thru to someone today and they gave me reinstall date of 5/16 litterally another 6 weeks of waiting - My HOA will probably fine me for the panels being in my front yard that long. I may end up needing to seek legal council on my options this is just ridiculas!!! This is one of several problems I can go on and on about them trying to scam me out of a few thousand dollars

I won't be using their products ever, since they were are very inconsiderate to people they do interviews with and claim to phone call people that night of the interview and instead send a text.

Any other company would have made a courtesy phone call, not sending a text about not hiring someone. Whoever sends out the texts, needs to remember that we are not in high school, this is the real world and adults use courtesy phone calls when they don't plan to hire someone.

I won't be suggesting this company to people I know, because of this experience.

I would rate them zero stars.Horrible company I wish we never had solar. Aps let me know there was a problem with the solar for the last couple months.I called and they said it would be 6 to 7 weeks before someone can come out here. Seriously that long to get someone to fix it. Then they told me I would get a call in 3 to 5 business days. Apparently they don't care about the customers.
HERE is an update Well its been months and they still haven't fixed the solar the customer service is horrible.

I reluctantly signed up for a free consultation from one of their reps at Home Depot. The exact words from the rep when I gave him my phone mumber was they won't spam you or anything. The appointment was set for 2 1/2 weeks out yet they proceeded to call me 11 times within 22 hours. Appointment canceled.

I noticed my system was inoperable in early October, I called sunrun and they confirmed there was a problem. It took several days to get a technician out and I needed a part that was bad, I believe it’s a inverter. A month later and nothing has been done except waiting on this part. Terrible communication, no answers as to why this is taking so long. Very disappointing

Signed a solar lease 18 months ago. They turned on my solar without notifying me. The panels are NOT working my power bill woth APS is full price. This is robbery. Im paying 350% MORE for power. Whatever you do do no do this. Its a rackett. Doesnt even deserve one star.

This company is something else , not only do they promise that they are a stand up company but just as horrible with customer service !! Please do your research before adding sunrun to your home . This company tells you lies and i will be letting 6 friends i know to go somewhere!! The list of what they did during our install was just awful everything from not having permits for inspections, failing inspections to the last straw on the camels back that made me write this Review. When we were trying to decide what kind of a system we wanted and how many solar panels we needed we were told that 85% of max allowed would probably be good enough, but if we ever decided that we were not getting the production that we needed from that amount we could at any time call in and get the added panels and that it would just get refactored into our loan. Mind you no less we spent 50k with this company. Well after having our system for about 5 months and the summer months within reach we decided that we needed more panels to keep up with the ac use. I then proceeded to call Sunrun to get my panels maxed out. I do not know why I expected anything else but more lies from this company, but I was told that I could not add any more panels to my system. That the State of Arizona would not allow me to add the rest of my panels to my system. This company has no idea what it's right hand is doing from it's left hand and for being such a large company they have no idea about customer service. My representative never called me once. She never returned my phone calls nor she ever answer the phone. I got solar to not have a bill with the electric company not to pay them a butt load of money and never get a single thing I was promised. I will never ever recommend them to anyone. I am no forced and stuck with a system I was told I could continue to add to if needed. And after many of thousands of dollars you would think I could have what wanted much less what we needed. Find any other company to business with.

I got the help that I needed to get my insane power bills not only within my budget, but actually below it! No gimmicks, no catches, no hidden fees. I want to give a big shout out to Jason at Sunrun. Since the beginning Jason was very informative and made sure we had the best setup needed for this location. He has continuously checked on the installation process to make sure we were satisfied and to make sure everything was installed properly. He recently came out to the lactation to make sure everything was working properly. Jason is a great asset to Surun and I would personally recommend him if you are looking to get solar. Finally, a company and sales rep who knew what they’re doing in the solar business. I spoke with 3 different companies and multiple reps and finally found someone who knew what they were talking about. Anna and Sunrun were fantastic to work with. She explained everything simply and didn’t give a ton of different quotes that I didn’t want/need, straight to the point and super helpful. If you’re looking to get solar, call Anna at Sunrun before making your final decision.

Shane and Sunrun Solar are absolutely amazing. I have been curious about Solar products for quite awhile however I was not too familiar with the installation and pricing, among other things. Shane stepped in and answered all questions which was great; Shane really took the time to get to know my family and I and walked us through the process. He still checks in on us every now and again and has assisted in every question I have had. I would highly recommend this agency to anyone. Ask for Shane!!

9 weeks without any energy credits. They didn't even tell me SRP sent me an email identifying the issue. 3 weeks until they tried to fix it, couldn't fix it and no one reaches out to me to let me know the fix didn't work until I communicate after 10 days. I called them this morning it takes 5-7 days to get a call back? I suppose when they call it will take 3 more weeks to actually get someone here to not fix it again. But no one will call to tell me that either. Customers aren't a priority. In my previous home I had Solar City / Tesla and they were way prompter and more professional. Buyer beware this place sucks.

I spoke with well presented salesman, Shane, which took the time to walk me through how the solar system would specifically designed for my home would benefit me. From showing me exactly the size system would reduce my electric bill. I'd recommend sunrun to anyone interested in solar.

Ms. Pawlenty was awesome. She was extremely knowledgeable about her product, and VERY patient in answering all my questions. I took over a leased system from purchasing a home and this piece of junk fails every 3 months. Now it partially works while I make the lease payment and $500 electric bills. Run away as fast as you can. Do not buy or lease anything. Their customer service is horrible.

I was really concerned that the solar was not going to completely get rid of my electric bill. Jim G assured me that the system would cover my electric bill except for the small monthly charge. I’ve had the solar for three months now and could not be happier. The system has done everything Jim told me it would do. They install the system cleaned up and did everything they said they would do with the install. I could not be happier with the way this is gone. I highly recommend SunRun and Jim G. Thanks Jim.

We made an appointment with Sunrun, because Costco has a relationship with them. When we think of Costco we think of good value, quality and helpful service. We expected that Costco would partner with companies that have similar values, but Sunrun shares none of the Costco values. The Sunrun sales person, Chris Tullos, provided an estimate to provide solar for our home that was more than DOUBLE competitive bids. We were unimpressed with Chris Tullos's knowledge of his company's services and his condescending and disrespectful communication style. Don't bother with Sunrun.

I WISH I COULD PUT ZERO STARS!
This is the worst service I have ever gotten from a company. Everyone I talk to defers to someone else. No one wants to help. I have simple questions about my system and contract because I'm selling my house and the potential buyer wants answers so they can write an offer. Leo is the worst supervisor ever, I'm not even sure how he's a supervisor. If Vivint was still my provider, I wouldn't be having these issues. Now that I'm having this hard of time I will definitely NOT be getting a new system on my new house like planned. Thanks for nothing!

Im quite sure this has been one of my biggest mistakes in 30 plus years of home ownership. All BS from the beginning . To start with not enough panels, Didnt hook up 1/3 of the system. Until i reported the problem. They do not monitor the system like your told. My system went down June 26 th and was finely brought back on line Aug 9th. Being its summer in Az my power bills for that period were apx 340.00 ,680.00and 500.00 . Sun Run credited me 150.00 .

From start to finish was not happy with experience. Panels were poorly installed and reconfigured panel placement without notifying me. Most of the panels were placed right behind a large tree that blocked any sun. I had to remove my tree. I also referred my friend to get solar and never received any compensation/sign on bonus that was promised. Do not recommend.

Be careful some of the reviews that have brought the rating up to 2.9 are within the last few hours or days, that usually signifies they are fake reviews. I think from the real reviews this may be the worst company I have ever looked up.
They just came to my door and told my kids they were here to check my meter. So they came to get me. I have a no solicitation sign on my door. I asked if they were solar 2xs, she said “it’s renewable energy” 2xs and finally would said it was solar after I said is it solar in a stern voice. She bragged about the company and I said “so if I looked you up the company would have 5 stars” she said yes. After she left I looked it up, 2.9 stars. She said they are A+ rated with the BBB, I looked it up, it’s not good and they are not BBB accredited. She completely made all that up. Very aggressive. I told her I didn’t like that she rang the doorbell with a no solicitation sign and she said most of her customers have a no solicitation sign! Very disrespectful and I would not trust her with the way she twisted things around. I have a no solicitation sign because I get one day off a week and I don’t want to spend it answering my door. Please Sun Run have your employees respect the no solicitation signs! Also have them be straight with people and don’t allow them to lie and act like they are APS to get me to the door.I’m pretty sure that’s illegal.

We have been told that our system is not producing power. Titian, the installation company, has been out to check on the system twice. Both times Titian told us that the system was producing power and they were able to read the out-put at their office. A check with APS indicated that they were also able to read our power out-put. My wife as made dozens of phone calls to Sunrun starting in June of 2021 about this problem without resolution. The person who answers the phone for Sunrun refuses to allow my wife to speak to a supervisor. In the mean time we are still paying $179 a mouth for equipment that Sunrun says is not working. We wish that we had never heard of Sunrun. Still not fixed as of 1/14/22! If this is not fixed by the end of January 2022 we want; 1.the system removed from our roof, 2. our roof repaired so that we don't have a leaking issue down the road, and 3. reimbursement for the $179 for the months this system was nonfunctional.

The deserve ZERO stars. Our roof is covered with sun run panels. We got the max thats allowed. It’s $200 a month and we LEASE. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THEM!!! We aren’t saving much (if any) and still have a $200-350 APS bill each month! We opted for critter guards and after 18 months needed them to come out and fix them because the pigeons had made it their home. There are tons of them. When I called they said the critter guard warranty expired after 12 months and it’s on US to fix it. Sun run recommended heavily that get the critter guard, they installed it, BUT sun run says it’s NOT part of the solar. Even though we lease. It’s on us. That was the whole point of us leasing. We didn’t want to deal with the responsibility of repairs!! ??‍♀️ They’re horrible!! Instead they want to charge us $200 to come see it, just to tell us it’s on us to fix!!! I wish it was easier to get out of a contract with them. The customer service is lacking, the sales representative no longer answers our emails or calls and we are now stuck dealing with a problem I never wanted. This was my husbands thing. Bless him he thought it would save us money but it doesn’t!! I can’t say enough how TERRIBLE sun run is!!! DON’T GIVE THEM YOUR BUSINESS!!!! THEY'RE A SCAM!!!!! ?

It’s been 7 months only heard from them 3 times. My sales guys was pretty good in very minimal ways.heard many reason that turned out to be excuses I’ve asked many times for a scope of work well that never happened either. Rescheduled 3 time no I’m out.
Won’t even attempt to explain there attitude towards concerns they will over talk you.
So do yourself a solid and look up there bad reviews!

Awful company. I initially signed on with Vivant solar and found out recently that Sunrun bought them out. They're on time and more than happy to get you into a contract and take your money, after that, good luck getting in contact with them to hold up their end of the bargain when maintenance needs to be done. I've been trying to get a remove and reinstall scheduled for a month so that I can get my roof replaced so that I can sell my house, and there's been hardly any contact from them. I've called and left my number multiple times and when they said they'd call back within five business days to get that scheduled up... guess what, nothing! Gonna file a complaint with the BBB and or get litigious if they continue ducking out of doing their work.

The whole experience with solar has been great. I used to be nervous opening those mid-summer electric bills with the a/c running all the time here in Arizona, but not anymore. I also had some questions about how to best utilize the system and Shane Price was able to help me figure it out. I would highly suggest that every in Phoenix gets solar and preferably with SunRun.

I never write negative reviews , but this feels like the only way to help others not make the same mistake. I started the process for sunrun who is now Vivint after multiple calls with promises to follow up and no one ever does, I had one rep that was trying to help and after an hour this time nothing got resolved he put me on hold and I said I’ll hold and before he hit the button he said “of course you will hold it’s not like you have a choice” this level of customer service is shameful. I wanted them to come take all their stuff that’s been sitting on my roof for a year and take me out of their system but they said that’s not possible for what I’m reading this company has a bad habit of sticking people with contracts by lying and using shady tactics. I’m going reach out to the CEO and plead for them to do the right thing and get me out of what ever lie I was told.

I purchased a home that already had Sunrun installed. Having seen Sunrun at Costco, I mistakenly expected them to have been vetted and offer acceptable service. The transfer process was a hassle for the escrow company, seller, and me. Sunrun's transfer team was difficult to reach and very slow to respond during escrow. The Sunrun lease was paid off at closing but Sunrun continues to be a hassle. Some disconnect is causing Sunrun to send past due notices while also sending statements correctly showing the credit balance for the paid in full lease. I've sent the details to customer service, the transfer team, and their collections team but so far no one has corrected the issue. Now they are threatening to send the account to collections and shut off the system. On the up side, the solar system is working so hopefully they'll leave it running.

absolutely the worst company to use for solar. During install damage done to my house. Don't have my system 100% working. I have called I have emailed I even spoke to people. They were supposed to come out and fix it last month and did not get it fixed. I've waited two weeks for an appointment to just get an email that they are postponing my appointment again without any notice. Their breaker box is faulty and instead of install fixing everything they put me on to customer service who does nothing. I beg everyone not to use them until they can fix these issues. I have now contacted Costco and waiting for a return help. Shame on Sunrun!

This company has not done what they said they would do! Bought a house with existing lease and gave them a current credit card. 6 months has gone bye and it has never worked at all! We were scammed! This company guaranteed us to cover our electricity leaving a $25 bill to TEP! Our $225 bill would beg to differ! After 3 years of ignoring our texts, emails, surveys, and calls, they finally said we could upgrade to more panels for an additional $80/month, we agreed (Fooled us twice)! Months later, nothing happened, no response to our inquiries, now they say it will cost us $7 to 10 THOUSAND dollars if we want more panels! DO NOT USE SUNRUN! What a joke! 1 star only because we couldn't give ZERO!

My APS bill is the same as without solar but I have a whole solar payment on top of it. When they were pushing solar on me so hard they swore my APS bill would be nothing. Now I have a regular APS bill AND a solar bill. Stay away. They don’t help either when you contact them, they say their panels are producing “so much energy and it must be APS”

We couldn't be more satisfied with our Sunrun Solar experience! I researched various solar companies and after 3 months, selected the Costco offered Sunrun System. It was installed quickly and orderly! The installers were very polite and kept me informed of what they were doing. During the Winter months, we paid nothing extra for electricity and our Power Company (APS) advised us we have over $150 in surplus. So far, it was one of the best investments we could have made!

DON'T DO IT! Talked me into a financing option that would use the tax rebate for solar panels. I just talked with a tax expert after not being able to get my full refund. They told me you don't get an actual refund just credit that covers your tax liability. So I wont be able to claim the full money for 8-9 years while the loan requires it paid in 18 months. So I will be stuck paying close to double on my electric bill every month compaired to before. The loan paperwork was done to never mention a rebate and called it a vaulantary payment of 26% of my 20 year loan in 18 months. Bigest scam I've ever fallen for. All I can say if your looking them up DON'T DO IT!!

My service was to be installed by the end of March, no later then April, it wasn't completed till the end of August. You no longer speak to someone in Nevada. You only get one person I refer to as Indonesia man. Not friendly and certainly no help. All he will tell . Sales will tell you out put guarantee or they will refund you utility bill. I have not idea if my system is working, I can't get into my account, Oh and when you call you will be told that someone will contact you within 48 hours NOT!!!! maybe on Indonesia time but not here in the USA. I have a roof leak and need to have several solar panels removed to repair the roof. SUNRUN is going to charge me over a thousand dollars to remove and replace six panels. I've been contacting them daily to determine when this will be done and cannot get an answer. They claim that they have forty-five days from the contract date to complete the work. They further claim that I'm responsible for any further damage caused by the roof leak while I wait. This is an impossible situation caused by a company that does not appear to care about is customers or damage caused by their failure to act. Time to call a lawyer I guess.

I would recommend NOBODY TO SIGN UP WITH SUNRUN. We had solar installed on our house and it took Sunrun 8 months after the panels were installed to turn it on but in those eight months we kept getting nasty phone calls telling us they were going to turn us into the collection agency for not paying our month bill? It was not even turned on so we are not going to pay for something we didn't even get to use. And the crazy part of that is we set it up to be auto pay through our bank???? Since we have had our system on now it has only been about 8 months and twice they system has shut off so not only were we paying Sunrun then we got a bill from APS so now we are paying double? Well this July & August the hottest months in Arizona the system shut off and we did not know it was off so we had to pay over $600.00 each month as even though you report it to them it takes them weeks to show up and then to tell you that yes it is generating power but a chip quit working we were still stuck with the bill........ So they assured us we would get refunded/credit for those two months but it should have been for 3 months due to their slow response to show up to fix it. Then after being told we would get a credit just two weeks later they took our payment again......WORST DECISION EVER TO GO WITH SUNRUN.

Do your research and know what you are getting into when you look into solar. Misinformed customers is not the fault of the company. Solar is not a perfect solution and the blame lies on the two providers (APS and SRP) in the valley they hack the buyback price of kWh and increase the kWh price when you are not on solar but it is expected when they are in business to make not lose money. Sunrun was nothing but honest and helpful from the beginning. I have had my system running for about 4 months and have been very pleased with the savings hopefully the savings continues throughout the summer, but time will tell. Sunrun has contacted me twice to make sure the system is running properly and the available app is nice to check the output of the system. Make sure you keep your panels clean so they can maximize the production. I have no vested interest in the company but wanted to share a good experience. In addition if your are a Costco member the discounts and the cash back benefits from Costco are amazing. Again research and understand that if you get into a lease and not a purchase it is still not a real good option if you do not own your home and do not plan on living there forever.

Beware: After weeks of waiting for a referral fee, sunrun told me Costco buyers do not qualify. sunrun never explained why this was not mentioned upfront. My friend’s residential solar system is massive. It consists of 40 panels, so the proceeds were there to pay the referral. Since that experience, I have ceased recommending sunrun.

Update: sunrun's customer service was unable to remedy the above. Communicating with them was a waste of time.

The service once you actually have a solar system is absolutely terrible. My solar equipment hasn't been functioning properly for months now. Once I realized I had a solar issue, I contacted SunRun in early October. There is no issue getting a hold of someone in customer care but their troubleshooting is absolutely worthless. They don't even have the proper manuals for my system when they are trying to troubleshoot my equipment. I literally had to send pictures of the error code over three times and also do my own digging to figure out the error code as they had absolutely zero clue over the phone. Once they realize they can't fix it over the phone the next step is they are supposed to have a field representative contact you to schedule a tech to come out. Each time I have talked with their customer care they promise to have a field rep call me which has failed to happen over four times (in addition to multiple emails). One time the customer care rep even promised to call me back to make sure a tech called me by the end of the day and even she failed to call me back. It resulted in me having to file a complaint with the BBB which is the first time I've actually felt compelled to do so against a business. They finally contacted me to schedule a tech and end out telling me the earliest they can get someone out is in a month. That's over two months just trying to get some tech to look at my equipment to even try and diagnose. To further aggravate, they are very clear that the tech fee is $95.00 an hour even though it's warrantied. When I questioned them why I'd be paying $95 / hour when it is warranty they state it's only charged if they find it to not be a solar issue. How are we supposed to know if it's a solar issue if your customer care reps can't even diagnose when you send them pictures of the error code and do all the troubleshooting for them? Just absolutely abysmal customer service.

Don't take the Costco Bait - shop around. I began looking into solar and saw that Costco had an affiliation with Sunrun, whereby they offer Special Costco pricing. I spent an hour on the phone with a sales rep and she was very nice and went through things in good detail and then she hit me with the price. I needed to do a double-take and then a triple take. I'm not sure if they're assuming that if you shop at Costco, you won't shop around, they're giving Costco a huge kick-back or have a fairly expensive marketing plan, or all of the above, but they were more than 3X the next highest quote (I received 4 other quotes that were all very consistent). She tried to tell me that the equipment they provide is the best of the best, however, the company I ultimately selected is using the exact same panels. SHOP AROUND.

Have had 2 faults in the last 4 months. 1st time was just a remote communication error that took 2 weeks to fix for a 5 minute job.This time the inverter has failed, and we've had no energy production for two months, they claim to be waiting for the part, but I see a lot of new ones being installed in my neighborhood, in all fairness, mine was still under warranty which puts it in a different category. Tech just replaced it since this review, who was professional and courteous, it will also take up to 2 years to be reimbursed for lost production, probably would do more research on them after this.

First and foremost, my sales representative was extremely knowledgable, had a great personality, and was not pushy at all. The installation process did take some time, but that's to be expected in the construction industry. I think people create a false expectation because they do not see the big picture and carry narrow views and opinions. The hold-ups are very rarely caused by bad scheduling. Jobs like this require permit, after permit, after inspection, after permit....etc. If they were able to to just slap panels, a converter, and a batter on your house it would take 3-5 days. Anyhow, regarding my bill. I was given proper information about annual rate increase, and my bill is spot on. I was also informed about the auto pay discount at the POINT OF SALE. Listen sales reps, if you even care to read reviews of your own company, do not lie, cheat, or sugar coat anything in your process to get a sale...it will not help you. Disclose EVERYTHING up front, and hone your craft. When you sell this way, you will make 10 fold back on word of mouth referrals, I promise. I keep my air at 72 in the summer time, and my highest APS bill has been 45.00. This is unheard if in Arizona. I'm not sure what everyone's complaints are referring to, but there's no way this company deserves this many bad reviews. Thank you Sun Run, for saving my money. Thank you Cheetah solar, for being completely honest and upfront throughout the sales process. If anyone has questions, feel free to email me.

Two weeks ago we let SunRun know our panels are not working. Since then SunRun and the contractor Titan that does the work have both passed the buck back and forth as to why no one has come to fix our panels. Avoid SunRun at all costs. PS - I see SunRun likes to respond by giving out their customer service number on these reviews. Don’t bother, my wife is on hold right now. Their customer service is awful.

March 2020 Vivint installed my solar, OK for a couple of months but 118 degree weather in Phoenix AZ was too much for the system and I ended up with a large APS bill.

Vivint keep telling me they will review the design of my solar panels and get back to me. Now 6 weeks later and no results, no reviews and no contact. BBB is next to hopefully get some sort of response from Vivint/Sunrun.

I thought about solar for a long time, eventually chose Vivint because of the lease concept. Talked to several other companies and definitely ruled out Sunrun

Now Vivint and Sunrun have combined ... what a mess!

I say 5 stars for Sunrun making everything easy! The process for getting the panels installed and transferred was easy! The only thing I would give ONE STAR for is Jeremy Busick. I’ve emailed and called MULTIPLE times and never did he once respond or call back. He was continuously asked me for my buyers credit report when that is nowhere near my business to be asking. FIVE stars to Megan with Sunrun support for answering my questions and informing me how the process is for transfers. I was stressed for a month not knowing anything because I kept receiving emails about the transfer not being complete and I will be responsible for all payments of the solar panels if I did not get the appropriate documents submitted when really it wasn’t my job to do so to begin with. But seriously THANK YOU MEGAN.

They put up solar on my moms roof. And where they installed the solar they clearly didnt do it right because the roof is rooting where the solar is installed. They want to charge us $7500 just to take down the solar!!! Worse company ever. Your making my mom sick! I would like the owner to contact me immediately. Sunrun installed my system and when I asked the price to add an additional panel or two, they declined to add onto my existing system but offered instead install a new additional system containing only 2 panels. How sad.

They claim to save you money. Not true. They LIE!!!
They just want the monies. Not the hassle of doing good for customers.

Stay away from them. NO good for anything. I've call stated this. I get the run around. .
Maybe It's time for Customers, to proceed to other measures.

I'm so tired of this.
Suppose to clean the panels. Not happening. They stated don't need to.
System running fine. Fine my fanny. It's been 10 months, and nothing.

Make sure you read your contract thoroughly because any questions you may have that's where they will direct you. Believed my bill would be less but won't see those savings for 12 months. The amount on the contract will be $15 more per page 3 section 4 they offer an aoutopay discount. The process to get the panels installed was a longer process than first explained it took months. Due to bad scheduling times from the sales rep. Overall terrible company.

When you need to get a hold of customer service they never answer their phone. If I didn't have a contract with them I would have looked elsewhere. I called multiple times and no answer. Terrible at keeping me up to date on the next process of installation etc... I don't recommend vivint either I have multiple properties and neither one are good. Try your luck elsewhere.

Install was easy and seamless, but beware once they have you in a contract that is where easy and seamless end. Oh and apparently having a system that works properly is to much to ask. They are just trying to save face with the BS response to the one star reviews. We have contacted customer care over and over for months and get nowhere.

i have had the solar on my house since january, not one ounce of power has been put back into my home. They do not have a system in place to red flag your account when something is wrong, the rep from sunrun told me the tech that installed and told me that LIED... they have a appointment set for me but it will take ANOTHER MONTH to have some one come out even though my system has NEVER WORKED since day one. UNACCEPTABLE. now im being charger 3X the amount from srp for 8 hours everyday to have no solar return, and sun run wont fix it in a timely matter... WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE AND ALL TOGETHER COMPANY EVERY...

My 9kw system installed over 4 years ago, has never worked over 6 months without breaking down. Yesterday a scheduled production meter replacement went bad. My system was up and running when the tech arrived, He never came to my door. Changed the meter and left. The system has been down since. CALLED Got no where again. I give the rip off company a trillion Dubble F stars

I would put negative stars if I could honestly worst supervisor I've ever encountered in customer service in my life! Absolutely rude and all he said was I can't do anything per your agreement as a legal document I get that and that's fine but he wasn't giving me options either. Or telling me why I couldn't get anything done for me. I had to ask him a million times why they couldn't do an early review and all he kept saying was it's up to me if we can do the early review. If I'm not able to do that based on my account usage than say that. Don't keep saying the same thing over and over. Seriously rude. I had to get very disrespectful and I believe I even cursed which is not like me. He was sooooo rude and degrading! I'm definitely calling my attorney over the scam they are running. They're still going to charge me although they're not producing the energy in my solar and now I have to pay APS twice as much and them as well? They couldn't do anything at all. I've neveeeeer had an issue with them until now! The man I spoke to was a poor excuse of an employee.

I called back and found out his name was Martin and confirmed with another employee all the information with a TOTALLY different tone. I mean like night and day!

The initial visit by a representative left us both with many questions so we had an additional meeting to clarify things. I feel the representative was not that knowledgeable and had difficulty answering our questions. A site survey was scheduled and an hour after the tech was supposed to be at the house I was informed it would have to be rescheduled. The company rescheduled it to today, Feb 20th, at 9:30. That time came and went and noone showed. I called the representative and told him we are no longer interested and will seek other providers. He actually called me back and said because it is a holiday noone is in the office. So why did they schedule the appointment and never change it?! Needless to say I told him we would look elsewhere. Had this company performed better they would have had our business. After reading other reviews I am glad we are looking elsewhere.

I wouldn't recommend this solar company to my enemy, they lie, cheat and defraud you out of every dime , they do not provide what they promised and you can not get rid of them nor can you sell your house unless the person buying wishes to continue your 20 year contract. They are rude and ruthless and the Arizona corporation commission will back them no matter what. They are being investigated by the FBI for defrauding the federal government, however they have obtained permission to operate in many states. Stay away from them.

If you are debating on using this company, expect this. Please read the following. We have dealt alot from this company. The installation was horrible sunrun blamed titan solar and vise versa. Heres the latest. Our 8/19/21 Aps bill showing ALL the electricity produced was $428. See attached screenshot. It clearly shows this company only paid $3.95. But according to customer service our panels work great and there are no issues They are saying we used all the solar panel energy that was produced except $3.95 and that we used $425 worth of APS energy. So they are saying we used over $800 worth of energy with four people in a 2000sq ft house. here is a screenshot of what they state is a normal bill. These panels are horrible, i would never have signed a contract if I knew what i know now.

Oh sunrun is the worst I had my system installed in 2017 I’ve had nothing but problems with it constantly under producing I have been getting power for the past eight days from APS which will charge me an arm and a leg but they refused to take anything off my bill 340 Each month they give you the same excuse about that under performance that they will reimburse you at the end of every year but when the time comes you’re lucky if you get a check for $30 every time they come out to look at my system to supposedly fix it they break tiles on my roof don’t replace them I’m responsible for the cost of that Just spent $400 fixing the tiles they broke last time do yourself a favor and do not use this company you will regret it I know I do

Beware of Roof Warranty stated by sales representative and the contract you sign for there is a 5 year difference. Sales rep and website say 10 years but contract says only 5 year warranty.

GOT AN EMAIL ABOUT 2 MONTHS AGO SAYING SOMETHING WAS NOT WORKING ON OUR SOLAR. SAID THEY WOULD CONTACT US BY END OF THAT WEEK BUT THEY NEVER DID SO WE HAD TO CALL WAS TOLD THE PART WAS ORDERED AND WOULD TAKE 2WEEKS WHICH BTW DIDN'T SEE THEM EVEN COME OUT TO LOOK AT IT IN THE FIRST PLACE!
OUR APS HAS GONE UP FROM $70 SOMETHING TO $300 SOMETHING THE NEXT MONTH TO LAST MONTHS OVER $500. MY HUS BAND CALLED AND ASK IF THEY ARE GONIG TO CREDIT US FOR THE TIME IT HASN'T BEEN WORKING AND THEY TOLD HIM NOT UNTIL THE END OF THE YEAR!!!!!
MY HUSBAND EMAILED THEM LAST WEEK AND GOT NOT RESPONSE AND IS ON THE PHONE WHILE WE SPEAK...SAID IT WAS A 2 HOUR WAIT??

We have been trying to talk to Johan Bernal about paying off our solar. We have left messages and emails and I have even chatted with customer service, to contact us as our contract states one price to pay vs what they are telling us. We have had our solar for 7 years and the price difference they quoted us is about $7000.00 dollars more than our contract states. If we don't here back, we will, unfortunately, have to take this to court just to get it paid off. It's ridiculous that nobody can call back or even email us. If you get solar, I DO NOT recommend Sunrun!!!! Why don't you give a phone number instead of email so we can physically talk to the resolution dept dear owner of Sunrun!!!???

I’ve dealt with many Sales Reps and Sales consultants over my many years. I always proceed with caution when approached by these people. David Watson (Sunrun) is what a representative for a company should aspire to be. He is very clear, articulate, and informative. He is knowledgeable of the company he represents and the product he sells for them. I don’t write many reviews on my experiences with sales reps. It’s rare that you come across people who know how to do it right. I really felt that I had to acknowledge our experience with him. You will never feel like you are being sold something. You will never feel like you are being pushed one way or another. There is no hard sell from David. Just very straightforward and polite. He was very personable with my wife and I and respectful of our home. Sunrun (or any company for this matter) should hire a lot more people like David.

Sunrun was super fast throughout the whole process! I was able to purchase my system and have it installed in about a month’s time from when we first inquired about it. So far so good but now we’re waiting for city, county and SRP to approve and activate. I am happy we were able to get it done before the extreme temperatures of summer hit.
