Second Opinion Plumbing

My kitchen faucet broke and I could not get it to turn off. I called 10 different plumbers in the Mesa/Gilbert area, and Second Opinion Plumbing is the ONLY one that answered. They were able to get a plumbing technician out to get the faucet to stop running. The faucet did need replaced because the internal components broke and the screw was cold welded in the faucet. Charles had to literally saw the old faucet off to remove it. He was very professional, replaced our kitchen faucet quickly, and did a great job. I recommend this plumbing company over any other in the Mesa/Gilbert area because they answered the phone, fixed the problem, and I have yet to hear back from the other 9 plumbers that I called.

Austin was amazing! He serviced our AC unit and got us up and running in no time. So grateful for his help and professionalism. He was on time, honest, kind and a genuine good person. 2nd opinion was at house to repair running toilet. made repair. had to call them again, same issue. they came and shortened chain. had to call again (third try) same issue. they charged me again. they will say it was a different problem, it was not. they should have identified the real problem the first time. I was charged twice to repair what should have been done the first time. nice people, but they say they guarantee their work. perhaps, but they will charge you again! By the way, at end of third try, I was not told in advance that I would have to pay again nor what it would cost..just asked for my credit card again.! Margaret P. , Mesa, AZ

Beyond exceptional! We had a slab leak under our kitchen area, involving our water heater. Chris Cartem was our assigned plumber. He was punctual, personable, professional, knowledgeable, thoughtful and by far, superior to the other plumbers we had out to evaluate. Chris even took an additional amount off after determining the repair did not require as much work as initially estimated-amazingly honest. We were impressed with his integrity.

Just had a new water heater installed by Brian and it was a great experience. The prices they charge are extremely reasonable and actually quite phenomenal relative to the big guys. Second Choice was the third plumbing company I called to look at my bathroom issues. After receiving extremely high quotes for work that did not seem relevant to the problem, I was thrilled to have Brian quote a very reasonable amount, fix the problem and show me the video as he ran the camera through the cleared pipes. He gave me written quotes for other plumbing issues I have been dealing with and might want to address in the near future. Brian was very patient, professional and thorough. I was having an issue with my water heater yesterday so I called my home warranty and they would not send anyone out to my house until the next business day since it was not a true emergency. I have tenants with small children living at the property and needed the water heater fixed asap. A good friend of mine referred me to Second Opinion Plumbing. I called them last night around 7:15pm and was greeted by a warm welcoming voice eager to help me with my water heater issue. I briefly gave him the rundown on what was going on and with no hesitation he asked for my address and said he would be over in 20 minutes. The technician was able to fix my water heater within 15-20 mins of being there. He also took the time to show me what the problem was and explained ways on how I could help this issue from happening again in the future. I was left with excellent service from an outstanding technician who gives pretty solid high fives on the way out the door.

I would HIGHLY recommend Second Opinion Plumbing to everyone in the area with hopes they are able to work with Justin who was the top notch technician who came to my rescue with such short notice. Excellent from start to finish!! Had a main waterline burst a leak in our yard on a Saturday evening. Ryan answered my call late Friday night for a tub stem that broke off inside the cartridge. He said he would be there by 9 the very next morning and he was here right when he said he would be. On 09/27/2022, I had Charles from Second Opinion come out. The handle on my shower had come apart, and the shower could not be used. He immediately knew what the problem was, and fixed it in no time. Third time I have used them, never been an issue! Recommended!

I had the water line to my toilet tank blow and flood the place. I tried to fix it myself to save money, but still had some leaking and a couple of stripped fittings. Ryan came to my rescue with quality parts and great service. He also fixed my slow draining sink at no extra cost and educated me to fix it in the future. Very prompt, quick and fair. The only plumbing company for me!

Kyle was great. Knew exactly what to do with my bathroom water and drain lines in order accommodate our new master vanity. Job was done fast and right. Vanity went in the next morning and fit like a glove!

While doing some afternoon dishes we had a pipe break and flood our kitchen. I was referred to Second Opinion by my parents who had some plumbing for their bathroom remodel done by them. I called and within 5 minutes got a call back and had Kyle en route. Kyle showed up and was so professional and nice. Best plumbing service in the business, no run-around, very experienced, friendly and honest guys. Was referred to by a family member and some other friends and will always call them for any of our plumbing needs.

These guys were great! I rarely write reviews online (good, or bad), but felt compelled to pitch in a good word on this one. We just had a simple drain blockage, but these guys were extremely friendly, up front, and efficient. Arrived ahead of schedule and made for a very pleasant experience.

Spoke to Ryan about installing a water softening system. Ryan came to my home and gave me a quote after looking at installation options. I did hours of research on softening systems and couldn't find a better system anywhere near the same price after installation. Ryan installed a 42,000 grain softener, carbon filter, and ran a hard water line with spigot to irrigate my backyard. It's been over month now and I couldn't be happier with the quality of equipment, quality, and installation.

Kyle was our technician that was dispatched to fix an issue with a toilet we had . He was right on time and extremly professional and friendly. Overall fantastic experience and highly recommended. Price was also super competitive.

I needed the water shut off for my fridge water line replaced. The old one was leaking and could not be shut off. They scheduled me for the next day and contacted me that day earlier than scheduled to see if they could come over early! Yes! Kyle promptly evaluated the problem, gave me a very good quote and then replaced the shut-off valve. This was not a standard compression shut-off valve that you can buy at Home Depot or Lowes, otherwise I would have done this myself. He had the correct part on his truck and was done in no time at all. I will use Second Opinion Plumbing again! They are family owned and operated.

When my son got out of the shower this morning, the water was gushing full-blast after being turned all the way off. We had to shut off the main water valve and hope someone could come out ASAP to help.

Kyle answered the call and was so helpful! He gave me a very reasonable window for service and called when he was on his way. He completed repairs quickly and the shower handle works better than it ever has.

Original Post 2020: Brandon showed up at the early time window which was great, he also called ahead of time to let us know he was on his way. Quickly assessed the problem and went out to get the part to make the repair on the same day. Would definitely recommend!

We could hear water behind the bathroom wall but we could not see any water anywhere. The meter was not spinning but we called a couple of plumbers out anyway because we knew the noise was new. The first plumber told us we should just wait until we saw water somewhere because there was no evidence of a leak. Second Opinion Plumbing came to the house and asked if they could cut a hole in the wall to see what was going on. Sure enough there was a small leak under high pressure in a connection pipe spraying against the wall. They were able to repair the pipe in 15 minutes, and were super reasonable on the repair cost. I am so glad we called them, it makes me cringe to think the damage that could have been done had we waited like the first plumber told us.

Kyle at Second Opinion Plumbing saved the day! From the moment he answered my call to the time he showed up 45 minutes later on a Sunday evening to fix my problem, Kyle was an abosolute professional. He was able to repair an almost impossible fix and saved me from having to make much larger and expensive repair. I would recommend Second Opinion Plumbing to anyone, and ask for Kyle!

SECOND OPINION PLUMBING replaced a water heater. They were professional, and focused on the quality of their work. No games. Their service was timely and they had a good work ethic. Cannot heap enough praise on Kyle, Tawny and family. These guys installed two 1000 psi misting systems in 2 difficult locations, in one day, during a monsoon, and did both for a reasonable price. We have an 82 year old house, and a significant portion of galvanized pipe that was badly deteriorating had to be replaced. After getting extremely high quotes from two other plumbers for a major plumbing repair, we called Second Opinion. We chose Second Opinion for the job not simply because they offered a competitive estimate, but because of the thorough assessment and explanation that their technician Charles provided to us. The repair job was completed yesterday, and we cannot praise this company enough. Throughout the day-long job, Charles provided continual updates as the work progressed & made sure we were informed of all aspects of the work being done. Charles was thorough, professional, personable, and he was extremely respectful of our home and our animals. After the bathroom ceiling had to be completely removed to get to a big section of leaking galvanized pipe, Charles made sure that every bit of ensuing debris was cleaned up. We have never had such a thorough clean-up after a repair job! On every aspect of this experience, we give this company 5+ stars -- the speed of response, the quality of the work, the professionalism and care of the technician.... we have tried several plumbers over the years, but we have finally found a plumbing company that we can feel 100% confident about. I called second opinion plumbing yesterday for an appt to remove our 2 plugs from our wash outs. They were able to come out the next day and worked hard to remove them. Not only were they successful but they even went to the store to buy us new covers. We were impressed by their work and happy with their prices. Great service. My service tech called in advance of his arrival and showed up exactly as he promised. He explained the solution to my plumbing problems in plain terms and not only informed me that the parts may be still under a manufacturer warranty, he helped me deal with the manufacturer to obtain those parts at no cost. That alone saved me several hundred dollars. I would highly recommend this company for your plumbing problems.

A Second Opinion trick was parked in front of my house for about 30 min while the Second Opinion employee smoked cigarettes and littered his cigarette butts.

Brian was Our technician who came out for a quote for three different issues in our home. He came out on Monday, arrived 10 minutes early and was very efficient and thorough in explaining the issues we had and recommendations for fixing them. We then scheduled for the work to be done on Wednesday. He was timely, told us it would take about 4 hours and got it done in about 3.5 hours. He took the time to go over our new appliances he installed as well as the warranties and any other necessary information we would need in terms of operating or managing our new sinks and reverse osmosis system. Very fair price and very happy!

We no longer need to leave a sign in our spare sink saying do not use, and we finally have a reverse osmosis system, new kitchen faucet, and new garbage disposal. Highly recommend them and will be using them again in the future.

This was a company that I called for a quote due to the reviews. I called and 1 of the owners came out and looked at the job. He did a nice thorough inspection and made sure to find all that would be needed. He even found better parts with a better price. All was good.Then when the owners away from house at their shop the quote changed and the quote went up about $300 and every excuse under the sun. A quote is a quote to get job done not some here and some there and you pay us what we want to charge you. Just a big circus show once they left the house. Kinda sad cause he was a nice guy and felt that the price and time of work was good. Now I take my business else were and will never recommend this company.
For the 2 owners I would check the person your working with. You guys are missing out on a nice paying job cause of your partner or both greed and horibble customer service and the way you treat people (like I don't need your money). Kinda sad.

Second Opinion Plumbing provides expert service, at a very reasonable price. We originally hired them initially to install a tank-less water heater and water softener. Upon inspection it was decided that our plumbing was dated and needed to be replaced. The crew worked tirelessly the entire day, all the while being extremely polite and professional. The results were fantastic and we are now enjoying the luxury provided through their hard work. I cannot recommend them highly enough.

Great company to do business with.

It all started when the hose on the shed blew a hole in itself. As we all know how wonderful our water quality is here in Mesa! Ha ha!! Lime had basically sealed the pipe and hose as one. So I tried to find where it was coming into the shed and my trusty jigsaw just nicked the blasted copper line. Instead of down and up or up and over it came in at an angle! Called a couple of other companies but they could not make it out today. Called these guys and from call of help 11:00am to finish 1:10pm Charles our tech was a total professional! Kudos for your being a friendly professional plumber plus!! (They do A/C too). Wife and I have found our go to plumbers. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!! My appointment was this morning for 11am. Prior to my appointment I received a 10min on my way call. They came in and went straight to business. Both had friendly ENERGY and 2nd Opinion freshness. They worked well together like a TEAM is supposed too. They got my master bathroom tub working again...🛀🏽rub a dub dub thanks for my tub! I will DEFINITELY be calling this company back for any plumbing needs. They fixed my master bathroom tub and installed a new kitchen faucet in matters of record time.

My water softener stopped working so I called Second Opinion since they had installed it. The office person was extremely pleasant and Charles Harvey came out to check it. Unfortunately, it needed to be replaced after 7 years service. He explained everything clearly to me and was very professional. Hopefully, this one will last longer. Thanks for your prompt response

I have used Second Opinion Plumbing twice before. Great experiences on both times. This week the connector on my solar water heater was leaking. I called Second Opinion. The lady who answered the call was so friendly and was able to schedule me to check the leak this morning. Charles came out and he noticed an O-ring was missing in the connector to cause the leak. He just put one in and didn't charge me for the part and for coming out. He also gave me a quote on some new energy saving water heater option in case I need a new one in the future. I highly recommend them!

Your service tech was super friendly and professional, although went I got the invoice (which we paid without hesitation) I don't think I have ever in my life hired a plumber, I did not expect the amount to be so high considering we supplied the faucet, the toilet parts, etc. We expected it to be around HALF of what it was, however, I truly believe paying top dollar should have its rewards for great service, great work and we hired the best company (and I'm really big on good review ratings). Also meaning, my lack of knowledge was being preyed upon by the other company... Don't hesitate, get their second opinion. The $14k quote ended up being $700 (after he discounted by $100 for being done early) and no cutting my slab for no good reason. This is the second time I have used this company and have not been disappointed either time. They installed a new AC unit at my business and then repaired an outside broken water pipe at my home. They had to work in unbelievable conditions ...115 degrees and had to dig 25 feet from house to street. Work was done well. Clean up was unbelievable. Kudos to both Justin and Austin!! We are doing a total curbless walkin shower remodel. I had to hire 2nd Opinion after Tawney who took my call was so upbeat and friendly I immediately felt this wasn't a corporate organization this was a family operation and they care. Brian came out soon after on time, polished & wearing a mask (other plumbers did not). I have to admit I didnt know what I wanted and where to put it but he took the time to thoroughly explain everything even giving me some better ideas. A week later was surprised to find he himself would be doing the work with a helper. I observed he is very careful with tasks at hand and treated his helper with kindness, respect and yet authority. Answered my million questions without irritation and even gave hubby some how to tips that were greatly appreciated. Oh yeah, price was very fair for all the work they did also left the place cleaner than when they came.

I have been suffering with sewer gas issues for the last 6 months. I’ve had other plumbing companies come to find and fix the issue, they didn’t address the issue. Then I called Second Opinion Plumbing and Air. Trevor came the very next morning, conferred with his Supervisor and came up with an idea. He left to go pick up a part and came right back. He replaced this part under my kitchen sink. I don’t remember what the part was called, but almost instantaneously, the smell disappeared. It’s been several hours since Trevor preformed the miracle and no sign of that nasty sewage smell !

Called and made an appoint for this morning. Charles showed up first thing in the morning. Did a great job of not only finding the clog, but also discussing the problem, short term and long term solutions.

I had found an issue with the clogged pipe and he was kind enough to connect the piece for me as well.

Hopefully I won't need their (or Charles) services for a while but if I do, I now have a company that I can trust going forward

I cannot speak highly enough about Second Opinion. I contacted them for an estimate to replace 28-year-old polybutylene piping in a two-story home with more resilient PEX and add a new water softener. Their estimate ended up being more reasonable than two competitors. Kyle also identified and explained other issues that had been jerry-rigged by the former owners and needed correction.

Once the work was scheduled, Tawni in the Second Opinion office was always quick to communicate or answer any questions. The courteous four-person team who performed the work didn't stop for two days. They use their time and yours efficiently.

In the course of performing the work, Kyle also found a serious venting issue with the HVAC air handler in the attic that presented a carbon monoxide risk. He fixed it that day at no additional cost.

These folks are professional craftsmen who know their business. I plan to use them for any and all future plumbing needs and recommend them to family members and friends.

We just got out RO system installed and it's been great! We called this week and they came out right away. Kyle was friendly, quick and efficient. He installed the RO with no problem and told us about the system. I would highly recommend using this company.

I cannot praise Austin and Second Opinion Plumbing enough. I found a water leak on the night of Thanksgiving and knew that finding a plumber during a holiday weekend was going to be difficult. I called Second Opinion Plumbing first thing Friday morning and they were able to schedule a technician for later in the day. Austin showed up, on time, and got to work. He walked us through the entire process and quoted us the amount he would charge before he got started. Throughout the process, he made sure we knew if anything quoted was going to change. Austin was great at communication, he was friendly and he was professional the entire time. I was extremely happy with this experience and will definitely be using Second Opinion again. So I had no hot water and was having trouble diagnosing the problem. When I called the office, the soonest a person could get out was tomorrow. This is
completely reasonable, but a long time for my family. Charles had done work at the house before so I called his number. Demolition day at our house and the shut off valves were leaking in multiple rooms of our house. Called Second Opinion Plumbing in a panic and they sent Kyle over within an hour. He did an amazing job! Worked quickly and efficiently even with all the chaos going on in our house. And even though it was a Sunday they didn't charge us an arm and a leg. I highly recommend them!!!

I noticed a soft spot on my drywall and instantly feared the worst. I contacted Second opinion plumbing and within a couple of hours Brandon came to inspect the damage. He said it was not an active leak and the water damage was from our shower leaking into the drywall and recommended a couple alternatives for repair. I appreciate the honesty and responsiveness and I will absolutely use them in the future!

They added another $125 to the cost of changing a sink faucet. Customer service/friendliness was non existent.
I couldn't go upstairs when the plumber said he had to run the water to get it all out before working on the faucet.
My tub faucet magically turned on itself according to them and my ceiling downstairs was filled with water and ruined. They refuse to pay for the fix. I even offered just a cosmetic fix rather than a full expensive repair. Their response we won't fix it.
I had a guest over between the plumber sink replacement and the next day when the ceiling was filled up and dripped on the floor from several areas
When I had them look at the damage they happened to have a person that could fix it. They came out and said it would be at least $5,000 and it would have to be blocked off for 3 days. I don't feel comfortable with them.

I highly recommend Second Opinion. They've been to my house 3 times this year, and each time the service was fantastic. They arrive on time and do great work. Today, Justin came to replace a broken kitchen faucet. He was on time, friendly and professional. He had the new faucet installed and working great in no time. I'll definitely call Justin and Second Opinion for my next plumbing project.

It is rare these days to find a contractor that is honest, trustworthy, and reliable. Second opinion plumbing is all of those things. I can honestly say I am so happy I found them. The misting system is even better than I had hoped. I installed a system that has made my backyard like a resort. My family enjoys spending time back there even when the temperatures are over 100. And it looks GREAT!! I was concerned the appearance would be undesirable but boy was I wrong! It looks very modern and contemporary and actually adds to my home’s curb appeal. I called them about a leak under the sink. Kyle came out the same day and quickly took care of the problem. He also gave me some information about a couple of other plumbing issues I was having. This is the second time I have used these guys and both times they were excellent.

We were having trouble with our RO system. They came out and weren’t able to fix it, but they didn’t charge a service fee for this. That was crazy because most companies charge just to come out. We ended up needing to replace the system, so went with Second Opinion. They were on time, quick and clean. The RO system works even better than our other one. I will use them again in the future and would recommend them to anyone with plumbing needs.

We called Second Opinion for a friend who needed a job done quickly. They showed up on the weekend and fixed the issue and were so kind and professional. We will use them for all of our plumbing needs.

I have a water heater that is 18 months old and I have a water softener. My previous water heater began leaking at about 4 years. When Second Opinion installed this water heater they recommended that I replace the anode rod every 2 years. Apparently, the anode rod attracts the sediment and corrosive elements (like minerals in the water) so that they corrode the anode rod rather than the inside of your water heater tank (Google) and the water softener puts something in the water that causes corrosion. I never had water softeners before I moved to AZ, so I was unaware of their purpose. Sure enough, when he removed it, the anode rod was in pretty bad shape. Brandon and Aaron were efficient and friendly and charged me a reasonable price.

I had Kyle come over 2 more times to help me with a shower and install a main valve at the front of my house. Then I had him come back over again to help me with getting water softner and carbon tank combo and install a kitchen faucet that was very poorly installed by a unknown company. I didn't even bother with another company to get another quote because I know they can't be beat and the quality is far superb with Kyle.

When he first came over a few years ago he helped me with a toilet leak at a vacant home I owned and the quality help then made me remember to call them back for more work.

A few weeks back I had 2nd Opinion come out and replace the anode in my hot water heater. Our neighbor and friend's husband was out of town and she had called me to tell me her dishwasher wasn’t working and could I help. Perfect timing, Justin was kind enough to go over there with me after my service call and checked what he could. He did confirm it was getting hot water. Yesterday we noticed our hot water heater wasn’t heating. I had checked it but still no hot water. Called Justin and he was in the area and came by to check it. There was a loose wire to the heater element which he fixed - no charge. Really like this company!

Came home and saw a large puddle of water on my covered porch. Was certain I had a leak. Called Second Opinion Plumbing and Kyle came out within 1 hour of speaking with him on the phone. He did a thorough inspection and determined that I did not have a leak but the puddle was likely from the heavy rain we had been having. WOW!!! I am so impressed with the professionalism and HONESTY! And, the inspection was FREE! They have a customer for life!!
