We have been a customer for over 20yrs. I have referred lost of friends and family. We have always had great service from pool techs, manager, and customer service people. For the last couple of years that has stop. I've called customer service and can't reach a live person. I leave a message and no call back. I have sent emails and no reply. After reaching out to other customers and finding out there having the same issues or have already found another pool company. It's time for me to do the same!

Worst company ever they over sprawed plaster all over my cooldeck and plants and gravel. They broke my outdoor facet creating a leak that i had to replace. They broke my hose and dprinker system. They littered all through my backyard without cleaning up after their lunch. They never replaced my pool fittings or hooked up my pool sweep, they didnt program my pool motor it just stays on all the time ?♂️. The new tiles they put it are already cracking a week after install. The plaster has lines in it for not being properly applied. They left all my old pool fighters scattered around the lawn. They left their ladder in my back yard for over a month. They have horrible communication they tell they will show up to check it out and then never dhow. They dont return emails or phone calls. My project start Jan 21 and still isnt complete and loads of issues and problems. I would give this company a wide berth. I will be contacting the Attorney General of Arizona, BBB Consumer Affairs. 0 out of 10 would not recommend.

Disgustingly ran company. I have emailed, called, left voicemails without a return contact attempt. I have confronted the technicians about quality of work, and to no avail. Pictures attached are taken 15 minutes after their cleaning. My pool has been disgusting for months, and I cannot get through to someone. Do not fall for their salt system pitch that locks you into their service. I cannot wait to be done with this company and move on to someone competent. Save yourself a major headache. Never use this company!
Note: purchased this home 6 months ago, and inherited service from prior owner. In 6 months, the pool has not been properly cleaned once. You cannot cancel service without them removing their salt system, which I am sure they will find a way to damage previous setup and cause additional cost.

The original pool company we had was sold to Poolman. We have had nothing but issues. We had a salt system installed by them and our pool would never look clean. Paid them to have the pool cleaned last year just to find out our popups had not been working, so the pool was disgusting and the tech that came said “oh yeah those have not been working for a while.” This year we had to hire someone else to empty and clean our pool, just after spending over $1000 to have poolman do it the year prior, and found out that salt cell was installed incorrectly and dirty water was being pushed back into the pool. When we called poolman the tech that came out was making excuses as to why it was installed incorrectly, but knew it was installed incorrectly. Informed him what the pool repair guy we hired told us and said, “well fixing the salt cell isn’t going to make a difference in how dirty your pool is.” Instead of trying to rectify the situation the technician did not want to work harder than he needed to and just uninstalled the salt cell. We just got a knock on our door from our neighbor informing us that water was spraying their window. We walked outside and it is coming from the pool pump. Poolman was just here today and this happens, pretty big coincidence. They come every week and our pool is disgusting. Their customer service is horrendous and they take no accountability. Save your money and go elsewhere.

John Saunders is our Poolman technician and he is wonderful, he comes regularly, he does a great job and lets me know if he sees any issues, gives me tips for taking care of potential issues and always offer additional services if needed. To top it off John is very personable, respectful of our dogs and ALWAYS ensures the gate is closed securely to both the yard and pool. Thank you John for being so awesome!!
I’ve had poolman for one month. In my 4 weeks of service they did not show up once, and twice now have left the pool dirty. I mistakenly chose to use their salt water premier service. These pictures were taken within a half hour of the tech leaving my pool today. They are terrible at answering calls as well. If this looks like premier pool service to you, then poolman is a great company!
Update: they sent a manager out and then had the pool tech come out again. I’ve added another picture to show the impeccable job they do on their 3rd attempt to clean the pool.

I’ve been using Poolman for 5+ years now. I tried to do it myself in the beginning but my pool kept turning green so decided to use them. Service has been great. Joe Sowers has been servicing it and doing an amazing job. I have dogs and he makes sure to communicate with me when he’s coming so we can get the dogs put away. Lets me know of any issues so we can get them fixed before they become a problem. Great team and super responsive. Would recommend to anyone looking for pool service. Oh and bonus it’s salt water so keeps the hair and skin healthy and not drying out.
I have been a Poolman customer for 7 years and my home was previously serviced by them prior to my purchase. Generally, I've had a pretty good experience. However, their service has deteriorated beyond recovery in the past 6 months, to the point of my ultimate decision to cancel.
I've been on a salt (chemical) only service which includes maintenance of my water chemistry, but does not include brushing, backwashing, baskets, etc. I maintain the filters, sweeping, and skimming. At times, I've been unable to do this and have opted to pay Poolman to vacuum or clean the pool fully. I've had a few green pools due to heavy storms or negligence on my behalf, but it has been very infrequent (and somewhat expected for any pool owner in AZ).
This year has been another situation entirely. In March, Poolman sent an email saying that they were streamlining our route system so we can improve on reliability. We got a new tech and new service day. On June 9, a tech serviced our pool noting the free chlorine level to be 2 PPM. The very next day, my pool was showing signs of algae and a test strip showed chlorine at 0 PPM. There was an issue with the salt system (which was repaired), but had gone entirely unnoticed by the service tech 24 hours prior. On July 21, a tech serviced our pool and indicated chlorine levels of 2 PPM. When I returned home on July 24, the pool was turning green. In both cases I had to add shock at my own expense and spent additional time cleaning up the problem.
As many other recent reviews have noted, I've also experienced a billing problem with Poolman this year. In January, Poolman sent an email stating you will receive all future invoices via email and Poolman will charge your account using this preferred payment choice. I've had an established auto pay agreement since 2014, but that didn't transfer to the new system automatically (this was NOT clear in their email). Each month, since January, they have sent an invoice indicating a balance due equal to my monthly payment amount. However, in July, I received a past due notice for $300+ and a threat that my account was being sent to collections. I've now paid the balance, but the communication in this situation is infuriating.
Today, when I called to follow up on these issues, I received a recorded message stating due to the high volume of calls we cannot answer your call; please hold while we transfer you to voice messaging. With service issues for two consecutive summer months, billing problems, threats of collections, and the inability to speak with a representative about my account, I have made the choice to cancel my service.
With more than 5,500+ service accounts, they are experiencing serious scaling issues. I hope they can work through these operational problems and that I might be able to give them a chance again down the road. Until then, I will be working with a smaller, local provider. I suggest you do the same.

I've been using Poolman Salt service and maintenance for over 11 years. John Saunders Is the technician that comes out every Thursday. Honestly, in the 11 years that we've been doing this, while satisfied, John has been the most outstanding person we have had on this route!
He leaves the area better than he found it, he makes sure that all the baskets are absolutely clean, and free of all debris.
I've never seen the sides brushed as well and the steps are tended to also.
Thank you John!
The pool technicians are the stars at Poolman. I have been a customer for nearly 30 years and have always had great service from the weekly techs. My current tech, Joe S. is a superstar!
The office and management staff pale in comparison. They rarely respond to phone calls; lacking follow up skills and any form of customer service.
Worst company ever!!!! We have been dealing with a billing issue with poolman for almost a year now- conveniently, they are always too busy to talk to us or they never call us back. To add to the fun our last tech rarely showed up and would sleep on the side of our house in his car. As of last week we've been promised to have a tech out here 3 times and they still haven’t shown for a crusted up salt cell. I used to work in the customer service industry and have NEVER dealt with a company as dis functional as this! I’d love a call back- like you said you would time and time again but won’t hold my breath.

John Saunders is a fantastic pool guy! He is courteous, shows up on time, and does an excellent job - consistently. We have aggressive dogs and he doesn't mind coming to the front door to let us know he is here, so that we can lock up the dogs. If nobody answers the door, he calls us before entering the back yard. We are so grateful for John!
Great experience with Poolman Aquatics Group’s serviceman Tyler McCullough!! Tyler showed up to replace one light and found another with water in it and ready to be replaced too. Tyler fixed the first light, did the warranty work on the second, and came back the very next day to fix the second light. Tyler doesn’t waste any time doing his job. We would highly recommend him. Thanks!!
We have used Poolman for over a decade now. They have been responsive when we have issues. John Saunders is our Poolman technician, and he has done a great job and will let us know if there are any issues. If we have questions, he lets us know what he can do or sends us to other Poolman staff who can help. Appreciate John's work very much!
Taking time out to recognize our service tech John Saunders. He's been assigned to our pool for quite a while and we really appreciate his work. On time, never misses a day, and haven't had any issues in a long time.
John Saunders has taken care of our pool needs with great care. He never misses a week and does a thorough and competent job. I trust him completely. Thank you!
Joe has been doing our pool for years. He's always professional, and does a great job. When he's out, the other techs that stop by are just as professional as he is. They keep our pool clean and looking great.

This company started servicing my pool weekly in October 2020. The pool was looking properly cared for, up until December 2021. In 2022, the price of service increased, technicians started shortening the amount spent on site, skipping service days and not taking before and after pictures of the work completed.
I contacted customer service and the district manager when I noticed the color of the water was turning greenish. I was told the missing days of service was due to the small number of technicians available in the company. The district manager at the time, was able to find a technician from another route to service the pool but it did not help. The water of the pool has never returned to the crystal clear color it once had. This is because the technicians do not bother to do a thorough job when and if they come.
My contract is for weekly service for the same day each week. However, I am lucky when I get 3 service days. Getting 2 right now. Rest assured, my bill remains the same (PLUS a gas charge!). I have to spend endless hours on the phone or writing my customer services representative and district manager detailing why I am requesting credit to my account. No surprise that takes all sorts of approvals and time to happen. However, when they had my credit card on file for auto pay, they had no problem adding extra fees to my account, that I had to dispute and wait a month to have removed.
Do yourselves a favor. Skip this company if you are looking to have your pool cared for. This company is not the one. They will only cause you aggravation (mental, monetary, time) and your pool will look awful.

I have weekly service from this company. I have had the best tech over the past several months. His name is JOE Sowers. He's Always very very professional yet fun and able to converse with as he does are pool cleaning. He answers any questions that we might have and although we are tenants renting the home this is all handled through the property management which that part is very unfortunate, but if there are broken pieces or things That need replacement he documents them and then it's up to the property management. I look forward to him coming on Wednesdays when I'm home we always chat or he'll talk to my mom when she's home. Hes always nice he never parks in our driveway which is cool cause we're always coming and going some of the other guys raced their truck right up to the last little edge so they don't have to walk us far to the backyard which he is not lazy by any means. I know they do routine as far as how you are determined to get a person days and if you're on there route regionally. But I live in surprise and if anyone else chooses the pool man for their service this I highly recommend Joe for this particular service as far as weekly maintenance and such I'm not sure what else he does do or is certified to do but what he does for us is a big task And he leaves my pool sparkling clean. JOE SOWERS.... YOU GET 5 GOLD STARS FROM ME!
Tyler was fantastic!! He came out in the freezing, got in the water no hesitation or complaints, and changed our pool light! Quick, efficient, and so friendly! We will definitely be using again for all repairs that we can!
Our tech. John Saunders been maintaining our pool for quite some time now. Always does a great job and is very thorough and professional.

We are very
happy with there service and our service person Joe dose an excellent job keeping our pool running great.
John Saunders has been my service tech for a year now and he has always ensured my concerns were addressed as fast as possible. He has always followed up when I have questions and has always been very friendly and courteous.
I earlier posted an email sharply critical of Poolman in Scottsdale about a repeated billing problem I had them and with a warranty issue having to do with a pool coping repair job done last February. I had not been received callbacks or responses to both emails and letters sent to the local office, except one voicemail that attempted to sandbag me. After posting my previous email, I was contacted by Andrew (who unfortunately didn't stay long) who sincerely & appropriately apologized about the billing issue, explained the problems the company was currently having, and made the issue go away to my satisfaction.
It took a lot more effort to get a response about the repair job problem I had. However, two months into our communications I was finally contacted by responsible persons with authority in both the L.A. and the NY offices, the latter of whom coordinated with the local office to address the repair issue without expense to us. Ultimately the corporation dealt professionally with the issue. Their response was an attractive repair that completely satisfied us. In light of these actions, I am upgrading my rating for Poolman.
We have used this company for many years. Service is dependable and they respond to any problems in a timely manner. Our bi-weekly technician, Joe, has been excellent. Service has been consistent. He alerts us of any problems and assists in getting them resolved.

I signed up for Poolman around 2015 after turning my pool green a few times. A friend recommended them to me and I signed up for their Salt Water system plan. I sold the house in 2018 and bought a new home in 2019. The first call I made when I closed on my new house was to Poolman. I knew I could trust them to take this burden and stress off my plate. Recently with Covid-19 I had a lot more time on my hands and could have started taking care of my pool again in order to save some money. However, I trust the technician they send to my house every week and see him go above and beyond to make sure the equipment is working and the chemicals are balanced. The small things matter and Poolman does all of those and more.
My friends comment frequently on how clean and clear my pool is, I take pride in that (even though Poolman is doing all the work)!
My pool guy is Joe Sowers. I finally have someone from this company that does a great job and cares about how he performs the service. Hopefully he will remain my pool guy for a long time.

My service rep Wil, is outstanding! Always on time, professional, friendly, and always keeping me posted on pool condition and/or maintenance needed. I rely on Wil to keep my pool top notch. Thank you Wil for always going the extra mile so my pool can always be enjoyed. You are the best! Poolman, you definitely have an awesome rep in Wil!
Poolman services my pool weekly. They noticed a leak that needed repair, and called me, and told me what was needed. They sent me a quote, and I signed off on it. They told me when and what date they would be able to do it, and was on time, and got the job done. They called and asked me how things went. I could not be happier with their service and professionalism. Thank you

I have used pool man for 1year now, they have been dependable and professional. My cleaner Will, is the best he's there every week raining, cold or heat he's there providing excellent service and advice.
We’ve been with Pool Man over 2 years. In those two years, they can’t seem to bill their customers properly. They missed pulling payment several months and all of the sudden we get a HUGE bill because they forgot to bill us. Just received an invoice that they “forgot” to bill is in August. It’s so unprofessional of them. It’s getting tiring to get unexpected bills from then when we thought they pulled from our account months ago.
DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY. In 5 months we were billed for weekly service and they showed up two times. We installed cameras to prove they were not coming. The manager promised they would get it together in Dec but did not deliver on his promise. We have had extensive bills to remove algae etc from not being maintained. Completely unprofessional company. Urg.
Edit to owners response: don’t worry, I cancelled my service with you and you will never get another dime of my money. I will also refer everyone I know elsewhere. I have been a Poolman customer for over 4 years. Waylon bennett set me up for service and was fantastic. Any time I ever had any issues I could email Waylon and he would take care of me. It was the best customer service I could have asked for. Ever since Waylon left your company, my customer service has completely disappeared. You raised my rates from 56.00 a month up to $125 without ANY communication. When you try to call in, it takes HOURS to get in touch with someone. Voicemails go unanswered and it's just turned into a terrible company. The final straw for me was when you started charging me a fuel surcharge for your vehicles. Customers who pay a monthly fee for their pools to be cleaned should not be paying for your vehicle's gas. I called and left a voicemail and someone called me back two days later saying they could not waive this fee. I asked a manager to call me back and clearly stated that I would cancel my service if nobody calls me back...Guess what, nobody called me back. Management showed me how much they care about my business. I called today and sadly cancelled my service and will give my money to someone who cares. I was also informed there will be a new charge of 3% on credit cards moving forward. You still have a couple weeks to save me as a customer but I will not pay for your gas and I will not pay a credit card fee. The customer service has been atrocious since Waylon left.

John Saunders is the best. Our pool is always sparkling and he has been good to our pet turtle.
Excellent service! Will is always punctual and brings any maintenance discrepancies to my attention and gets them resolved quick. 5 stars….
I have been with Poolman for several years but the cost of the service has tripled, they spend <5 min on my pool and do not even empty the skimmer basket that is overflowing with tree debris. I know they don't turn on the pool (as they claim to do) b/c they document a PSI that my pool has never been at. I have left 4 messages on the company voicemail for the last 4 days to return my call, but I have yet to receive a call back.

I had been with them for over 3 years. The initial service was pretty great, however it seems that there was a fundamental change in things starting about 2 years ago. The techs kept showing up without the gate key, I had two guys show up two days in a row, one saying my service was moved over and now handled by the business level service. I told them as long as my pool gets cleaned, I'm ok with that. Around that same time, I've had sub-par service from them only to have price increases and a decrease in the quality of service. They say they brushed the pool, but it just looks like a few scribbles through the pool leaving a trail where they did brush, only accentuating the areas they did not. This last 4th of July, I had it when I had to brush AND vacuum my pool after it was in embarrassing condition to have guests over. I shouldn't have to do this when spending $155 a month. I've been working to find a replacement service and just canceled them this morning. A note to management: Whatever changes you made starting a couple years ago..........were terrible changes and there was a distinct dive in the quality of service from your company. I thankfully got Jessica on the phone this morning to cancel my service after calling several times only to be sent to voicemail. She was pleasant and easy to work with. I just wish I wasn't required to find a new service after all this time.
I was happy with this company until this January 2022 they suggested I drain my pool to address the chem levels.. So I did I agree to the charge. Once the pool was drain and refilled is when my problem started there where to many to list. No communicates between department, was double charge for the pool draining. Well not return calls or reply to email. Finally I get my April bill with no adjustment to my monthly charge give to me after I paid my March service bill. They also included their Annual Conditioner Fee which I paid in June of 2021. I tried to get in touch with a number of people but no called me back. I received a message from my pool Tech this morning who does my weekly service that he was not able to access my pool as there was lock on the gate. So this company did not even bother to let their employee know that I had terminate their service... This is no way to treat their customers or employee..

Use this pool service at your own peril. They will disappoint at every visit including the scheduled visits in which they do not show up. My pool needed to be acid washed TWICE as we were out of town and their techs quit. For 4 weeks each time our pool went untreated during the summer months. Now, a full year after kicking this company to the curb, they are making attempts to collect $90. FYI poolman, I am rich. I do not use credit. I have enough cash to sue you into oblivion and buy your company just to close it down. Put the $90 into collections as you have threatened. DO IT! I do NOT live and breath according to credit scores. They mean nothing to me. You were warned and notified numerous times via email, phone calls and in person that you would not be paid. I have all of this recorded and on email. So, BRING IT! How you are still in business is beyond comprehension. If the desperate attempts to collect money after a full year of ZERO attempts is any indication, hopefully you are nearing the end of your business lifecycle. For all of you people looking for an honest pool company, try TLC.

We used this company for probably close to 10 years. We used them for weekly maintenance and repairs such as replacing the pool pump twice. The company used to be consistent and reliable. Their service has gone down hill considerably. They don't show up when scheduled, sometimes you can't tell that they've been there even though they say they have, and they're very difficult to work with. We have cancelled our service with them and I do not recommend them at all.
UPDATE: they were supposed to come today to remove the salt system. Surprise!! After I arranged my day to work from home so I could be here for today's appointment they're a no show. But they can come tomorrow in the middle of the work day when I'm 40 minutes away. Great. They still don't understand that this unreliability is why I'm terminating their service in the first place.
I’ve been using Poolman service ever since I moved to the valley as I never had a pool before. They converted my pool to a salt water system free of charge and have kept my pool sparkling ever since. I am thoroughly impressed with this company! And if you need any repairs they can send there repairman out to take care of it
Our salt system has a broken lid for 5 days. We’re unable to operate our pump snd filter ?? But Poolman has zero replacement parts???
Have been trying to contact customer service for 2 days, with absolutely no contact or response. Ignoring the customer must be their policy and maybe the problem will go away ??
Have been a customer for almost 10 years !!! That doesn’t matter ??
Terrible customer service !!!!
Really great company and people. Thanks to John sanders the best pool technician for all the work!

We've been customers over 15 years, and are very unhappy with their customer service. I have called and emailed poolman many times only to leave a message and NEVER receive a return call. They stopped putting the charge on my credit card and I received a bill PAST DUE!
I want to take care of this, but can't ever talk to anyone.
WHAT DO I HAVE TO DO TO GET A CALL BACK TO STRAIGHTEN THIS OUT? NOT A GOOD WAY
TO DO BUSINESS.
TIME TO SHOP FOR A NEW POOL SERVICE COMPANY!
The man that services our pool doesn't do a very good job.
Plus now in addition to their very large price increase, they want me to help pay for their gas.

Canceled service with this company after months of poor customer service( hours on hold no call backs) After multiple attempts to convince me to stay I was told I could pay my prorated amount for the month and be done. Mailed my final payment in and had them come and remove their equipment from my property. What do you know, they still charged my credit card and sent a technician out to service my pool. They currently have multiple emails sitting in their inbox from me. Still waiting to hear back.

We have been using Poolman for the past 7 years. There has never been a challenge that wasn't easily resolved. The entire staff is quick to help and kind. I have also had the opportunity to talk to the owner a few times; he is extremely professional and fair.
I also wanted to take a moment to compliment our service technician, Jesse, for all the hard work and attention to detail. It doesnt go unnoticed.
Recently bought a home with a pool serviced with Poolman. After a month noticed my skin burning and strange smells from the pool. Took the water to get tested at Leslie’s and the Chlorine was 24ppm, TA was zero, PH was 6.5 and CYA was 150ppm. They’re supposed to test the water weekly and shouldn’t have been adding chlorine tabs to my salt system. Long story short, had to drain my pool 3/4 to get chemistry correct, spend $400 for a pump, water, salt and chemicals and then promptly canceled the service. Do yourself a favor and take care of your own pool, these guys clearly aren’t doing a good job.
Hi reader!
Quick overview: (if you want to skip the detail paragraphs)
Jon, a repair technician of Poolman, is the main reason for my 5 stars. Although, Poolman itself has a great platform and ease of scheduling, the most important part of a business like this is their customer service and knowledge at the ground level. Jon provided that and beyond!
Anyway, I moved into property that came with a pool. I love the idea of the pool and I sure love when my friends have a pool! Somewhere I can go hang out, maybe enjoy a BBQ and then leave without having to worry about the bacteria we just bombed our friend's pool with. For example, it is kind of like being a Auntie or Uncle. It's nice to spend time with the nephews and nieces knowing that they are not on my watch 24/7.
So, needless to say, I was pretty neutral on owning a home with a pool because of the maintenance required. However, thanks to Jon from Poolman, I am much more comfortable in how to maintain my pool. Not only that, but Jon came out and gave fairly priced estimates on some repairs that I don't feel comfortable with.
In summary:
Poolman services are great as far as I can tell. But depending on the service technician someone may receive may be the cause of negative reviews I've read here. That being said, I cannot emphasize enough how thorough Jon was in his inspection and estimates of my pool!
We have been using Poolman for over 15 years. Since Covid hit the quality and response to cleaning service issues is non existent. The service technichians don't come on the scheduled day nor do they actually clean and stabilize the pool. When you call to report an issue which happens weekly, no one answers the phone. You'll leave a message and they don't call back. Absolutely horrible and we will be finding a new pool service company soon as this one should be shut down.

We've been using Poolman's weekly service and salt system for 3 years. Over the past 6 months their customer service has been terrible, no one answers their customer service line, responses to emails have been minimal, we've been charged for services we haven't received, we've been sent service reports when our pool hasn't been serviced, our pool has turned green multiple times, prices have increased on top of having to pay a fuel surcharge for their employees, and most recently we were told that black mold has formed and our pool needs to be drained and acid washed. We cancelled our service and do not recommend using Poolman at all for anything related to your pool service.

We have been using this company for over a year now and service is very poor. They are supposed to have someone come on thursdays to clean the pool. Most the time they don’t clean both filters, they never come when they are supposed to, I haven’t had anyone here in three weeks so I went and checked the water myself. Nobody answers the phone or any emails. Looking for someone else who will actually come.
John Saunders does a terrific job, a professional at cleaning, equipment, and is meticulous.

We have been a customer of Poolman’s for a little over a year. And while they’ve provided adequate service up until late, we noticed recently the technician was only spending a couple minutes to “maintenance” our pool on a weekly basis. After reporting the issue to Poolman and with a minimal credit promised (still not received) we decided to part ways. Our new technician has found a broken top valve due to pressure built up from lack of backwashing, clogged filter requiring replacement, and double the recommended salt levels. The best part? Poolman will not address the concerns, nor escalate the issues, or refer back to the credit promised in the account notes. Trust in Poolman to charge for services they never complete, avoid your concerns, and treat your equipment with as little care as their customer service.

Worst possible service and company. Their service techs flake consistently, damage personal property, never answer their phones, do a sub par job in cleaning. They miss their weekly service appointments and have all the excuses in the book not to show up. Hiring teens off the streets to service the pools, barely have any REAL knowledge in chemicals and equipment. This company will not last with this type of service. I would highly recommend NOT using Poolman!
John Saunders does a great job week in and week out. Very knowledgeable and friendly. I would recommend John to anyone

As an update, The area manager reached out. The pool was ok for a week and now it is green again and i cannot get a call back. I was told I would get a credit for the chemicals I had to buy and that also never happened. I have also asked multiple times over the course of a few months to be taken off autopay and they still keep charging me automatically. They are hands down one of the worst companies I have ever dealt with. They do not care about their customers at all and just keep chraging exorbitant fees and not doing their jobs. We have been using Poolman for over 10 years.. In the last 2 years over the summer our pool has turned green once a week at least. They have tripled their cost and done worse service since they tripled their cost. I am now paying an exorbitant amount of money for them to come and balance my chemicals only for A-day later my pool to turn green and we have to come out of pocket for more chemicals. What's worse? The fact that I have now been calling for 10 days and cannot get a return phone call.. Our pool service tech. came out this week and even put on the report that our pool is not registering any chlorine, yet no one is following up to take care of it. I had even asked to be taken off of auto pay and asked for them to call me to discuss canceling and still cannot get a call back. Unprofessional and terrible service. My next call is the the Attorney General as I am being charged for services not rendered.
We have been using Poolman for a few years. We recently got a new technician, Bryan. He is awesome. Ever since he took over, my pool is always sparkling and my algae is gone. He is great at communicating and fixing problems when they need to be fixed. We love our salt water system and are so happy that we have a great technician to take care of our pool.

Our technician is great, but the administration is terrible. We pay by check and send it to the PO Box. They changed their PO Box and didn’t tell us. Instead they sent our balance to collections. After confirming the new PO Box and sending a check totaling nearly $1k to cover several months, they still have not cashed it and we can’t get anyone to answer the phone.
I started using Poolman about a year ago. I decided to go with chemical only service and take care of the rest myself. For last summer and the winter, this worked quite well and the pool stayed nice and clear and fresh. This summer once temperatures started heating up, they've been having trouble keeping up with the algae, even with me brushing the pool every day and sometimes shocking it myself with my own chemicals. But the algae keeps coming back and it doesn't seem that the service can properly maintain the pool. The visits also were rarely consistent from the tech, and sometimes they would even come a day late, which meant they would often be here on a Saturday servicing the pool when we are trying to use it.
I did inquire about switching to full service, but it seems the price has increased quite substantially since I discussed it with the company a year ago; I believe full service was $94 then and has now increased to $125 monthly. And while I understand that costs of chlorine have increased, I've spoken to competitors and they can perform the same service level for about $20 less per month. I've also been told that I can no longer drop to the lower service level for the winter as they no longer offer this service. At this point I will likely be cancelling and seeking out an alternative company to service our pool.
About 10 years ago, Poolman Phoenix started doing my parents pool. When I recently learned that Poolman removed my parents owned Hayward chlorinator (worth about $2k) so they could get my parents to lease an inferior one, I felt like that was elder abuse. Poolman regularly sent know nothing kids to maintain the pool, and those kids managed to keep the walls of my parents pool green for almost the entire 10 years because they NEVER brushed. The filter covers were frequently installed with sticks and leaves in the seal so that the pump would just suck air and the water wouldn't get circulated through the chlorinator. About a year ago, Poolman raised the price to $75, so my 86 year old father said they just couldn't afford it any more and he canceled. Poolman confirmed by phone, yet ignored on paper that he canceled by continuing to bill them. The chlorinator disappeared, so they knew. After 3 attempts to stop the billings, I finally told my father to just stop paying. Poolman turned my father into collections for a final $75 bill, which is very upsetting to my parents. I will pay the entire bill, including all of the collection agency fees, if Poolman will give back the Hayward equipment that they took. Unthinkable. I've been maintaining that pool now for about 9 months, and it looks fantastic by brushing and using basic chemicals from HD. The pool is being used again because it doesn't look disgusting.

When I first started with Poolman in Jan. 2020 I was happy to have them as I never seen my pool so clean. My service tech was Q and he was phenomenal. Awesome personality and was very thorough and did honest work. The only issue I had at the time was their payment set up. You could never view your payments, view services and any work being done or paid for. I called them for years telling them their payment system is very shady and unprofessional and they would tell me they are working on it. Things started change and Poolman advised that Q would be servicing another area and I would have a new tech. It was nothing but problems from that point forward. My pool was green for weeks at a time and then I would complain and I would have to go through so much wait time and response time just to talk to someone. I would never know about issues and they would bill me and never asked or advised me that they were doing something different and would be billing me. I warned them to not do things extra to my pool without letting me know and then bill me for extra services that I had no idea was needed.
I paid for months and months of pool service even when my pool was not usable due to my pool being green time after time. My Jacuzzi was constantly filthy and when I would complain, the service tech retaliated and threw chlorine tablets in my pool and left the basket out of its place.
At times they would send out a manager but there was no compensation. They happily took my payments though, for poor service and an unusable pool. I continued to see billing for things NO ONE advised me of and my trust with Poolman was nonexistent. There were days that my pool looked like no one ever came out and cleaned the pool.
I constantly reported issues and there was never any type of satisfaction with my service. They would be very annoyed when I addressed issues and I would get snide remarks for my issues. It was exhausting.
I was done with Poolman and was tired of trying to get them to do their job. I called Poolman and tried to cancel but the representative Jessica was awful and rude. She told me I could not cancel and that I had signed a 30-day cancellation contract. Asked for the contract and she stated that she had to get permission. She then started telling me that I had missed payments from over a year ago and that I owed them for more partial payments. She was informed that I pay every month and can prove it and that she is incorrect. She had to dig to find the correct information but kept correcting herself after I told her she was incorrect. Her demeanor was so off putting and frustrating to deal with. She eventually hung up on me and I called and spoke to better representative who handled the matter professionally and verified all the billing errors were incorrect. Hate that I cannot remember her name but Poolman needs to have her train all the other rude and incompetent employees, because she handled the matter correctly and professionally.
Things for Poolman to change:
1) Rude representatives (listen to the phone call with both reps)
2) Better pool techs (If you guys still have Q, have him train and give this guy a raise or promote him)
3) Promote honesty with the work your techs do
4) Admonish retaliation with your clients from your tech and compensate when you are wrong
5) YOUR BILLING SYSTEM still sucks and needs major improvement.
6) Inform your clients when you plan on doing an extra job that you plan on billing extra for.
7) Don't try and collect in a rude way, when you think your client didn't pay from A YEAR AGO. You guys have a lot of billing errors and if I did not keep records of my payment you guys would be falsely collecting from your customers. I had to prove I paid and was falsely over billed many times. You guys will rudely demand payment like Jessica did and she was WRONG. Wonder how many others were bullied to falsely overpay because there was no records to prove otherwise.

Customer service is terrible. I was set up on automatic billing at $75/month. Then I noticed all of a sudden that my last two bills were $125. I called and was told that they raised their rates. They never notified me, and I never agreed to let them bill me for more than $75. They admitted that they did not notify me, and said they would look into why I wasn't notified. I asked to speak to a manager and was told one wasn't available, but one would call me back that day. That was last week, still no call. I called again today and just get a recording. Do not use this company.
Awful and I mean AWFUL customer service. I tried leaving a negative review directly on their website and it magically disappeared without being posted even though it confirmed the review was submitted successfully, so if that tells you anything. To summarize we had an amazing tech but experienced numerous issues with floaters on busy weeks or when our tech was not working his usual schedule. We have 3 large dogs and keep the gate locked. I only unlock the gate before the tech comes and make sure the dogs are inside until after they leave. We got switched to a new tech about 2 months ago that would show up extremely early. We asked if we could receive a later service time as I didn't want to have to get up at 5 am to go unlock the gate. I've had nothing but problems since the tech change and they never answer their phones. It goes immediately to voicemail and I was even informed that is purposefully, they said they only return messages and don't answer live calls. I've left numerous messages and sent multiple emails to a prior customer service rep that I had worked with previously and have failed to get any type of return call. Also the most ridiculous part is they try to blame us for keeping our gate locked and not giving them a key to our gate so they can come and go as they please. I'm sorry but for a dog owner that just doesn't work. Maybe if you don't have dogs and don't care if the techs come at a reasonable hour on a consistent schedule vs just showing up whenever they please on any given day without prior notice, and don't care for timely customer service, then this might be the company for you.
poolman is the best pool company I have ever had! nice people and efficient.
I have used Poolman since they took over from my previous pool company in 2012. We have had a sparkling pool for years and consistent service twice a month. But recently things changed with this company. Whoever is servicing our pool is sloppily dumping something white in the pool (and on our brand new decking) and leaving. One time something on the system had broken and he never left a note or rang our bell to discuss it. Then two months ago we started to get black algae. No mention was made of this or any attempt to clear it. I was traveling out of state and taped a note to the pump asking them to treat the algae. Poolman sent someone to my home later, but the gate had been relocked so they left. If they had contacted me I would have had the gate unlocked or rescheduled. When I returned from my trip several weeks later the algae was worse. I tried calling several times and it always went directly to voicemail. Someone finally called me and sent a very nice tech out who added something to my pool and pump (or something) and said it would clear it up. Well, the algae is worse and the regular serviceman has made no attempt to help with this. I pay $50/month and just learned it’s going up to $75 and I am stuck with a pool that I will probably have to drain in July in Arizona!
I will attempt to call Poolman tomorrow and give them one more chance to correct this and explain why I’ve been paying for someone to come and not even notice the condition of my pool. I will certainly not be paying $75/month for someone to dump white stuff in my pool and leave without looking at it.
UPDATE: My husband left a voicemail and they returned his call. Sent a tech out the same day and he worked on clearing the pool. He explained what he was doing and we are feeling confident that the pool will be swim worthy very soon. I really appreciate the speedy response and will gladly continue my relationship with Poolman. I am changing my stars from one to four. Would still like a little better communication.
I have been using Poolman for about 7 years now for 2 properties. They were always very reliable and communicative but over the last year the company has changed dramatically. I have had poor service, it is impossible to reach anyone at the company and they do not seem to communicate well with each other. Leaves are left at the bottom of the pool after cleaning, they don’t take away the leaves that were fished from the pool so they just blow right back in when he’s gone. They keep raising prices for less quality work. I added a fountain to be cleaned at our property and was paying a lot of money for that and the technician was not not cleaning it for months ( he said he wasn’t told to clean it). I kept giving them time to improve but it only got worse. My last straw was receiving a bill from a collection agency because I hadn’t been paying my bills that were supposed to be on autopay. After 4 days of trying to contact Poolman, they said they changed their system and the credit card info didn’t transfer over. They said they sent an email but I did not get one. I don’t understand why any decent company wouldn’t call the customer for payment before sending to collections.

We have been with Poolman for a very long time. They have a great deal where you get a leased salt system, but when something goes wrong, the follow up takes so long, the customer agents are rude, they do not show up when they say they are going to, and are ill equipped to fix issues or don't know how. We had our monthly price increased $30 per month to balance all of our chemicals due to chemical shortages. Yet, my pool keeps turning green and because it takes them so long to get back to me we have to buy more chemicals and fix the pool ourselves. Then they had a technician come out and fix our timer and assure me this was the issue. $270 and a week later the pool is green again. You can't call and get a hold of anyone directly, they have to call you back. When you ask for a manager to call you back, you never get a call back from a manager, you talk to a rude customer service agent. Sometimes a good deal is too good to be true!
5 out of the last 6 weeks I have called the office after my pool guy left. Absolutely the worst pool cleaner I've ever had. Management refuses to do anything about this. Claims he vacuums the pool when in fact he doesn't, claims he brushes when in fact he hardly ever does, says that he empties the skimmer baskets when in fact he does not. Definitely not worth the money at all. Stay away from this place!
I have had pool man for 4 years now and for the most part service has been decent (4 star) but recently I came back from a work trip and noticed that the salt cell pig tail had broken (their part). Having this part break caused my pool to run dry for two or three days. It took them three days to get a tech out to fix it. Once the tech fixed it they said that my pool pump was fried and took zero responsibility. I'm not ingnorant when it comes to pools so having a pump run dry for three days will cause the motor to overheat and short (which is what happened). Their only solution was to have me pay $1900 for a new pump installed. I have called 5 times this week leaving 3 voice mails and still no call back. Incredibly frustrating! I replaced the pump myself and have tried a few more times to get them to come out and do green treatment. Pictures below are the results with no response still...
Update: 7/26, two more calls and no luck. PS if you leave a poor review on their website it doesn't appear. Be weary as this is an extremely shady business practice.

Had to cancel service. 8/2021 they are Increasing my service by 40%. Twice a month the tech shows up and puts in two chlorine tabs, some acid and he's done ($20 worth of chemicals, if that and no cleaning included with my service). Poolman wants to change $75+ for this now! In my 5-6 years with them, my security cameras caught different techs not doing their job. Not testing or adding chemicals, but leaving the prefilled service slip showing levels and amount of chemicals they put in. They will sit in front of your house for 10-15 minutes, because their vehicles have GPS tracker showing the time they were servicing your pool. My security cameras showed the truth! Mind you all, I have a salt water pool, which is less maintenance and less chemicals than a normal pool... But they want to charge close to 1k Dollars a year. I'm now testing and managing my pool at $300-$500 a year. Please be aware of what you are paying for and make sure you are getting the service that you are paying for!
I originally called Poolman for prices on servicing my pool and wasn’t impressed so I went with a different company that I was very happy with. Unfortunately Poolman bought that company. Since the purchase they have not provided me with any proof that I have agreed to use their service, they make extremely rude calls demanding money yet can’t or won’t provide any type of billing statement or signed agreement to use their service. When they did come out they didn’t have the proper equipment and had to use mine. They have back washed my pool multiple times down the side of my house without using a hose and made a complete mess of my landscaping. Most recent was a call demanding I pay them over $1000.00. When I asked them to email me a statement showing why I owed them any money they got offended. They sent me an email that requested payment for a balance due but still no breakdown of charges. As of today’s phone call they have me a completely different amount they claim I owe and i still had to demand a statement with a breakdown. I still have not received anything from them as far as a contract or agreement or even an email to have them service my pool

Will Fuller does an awesome job servicing my pool. He shows up when he is supposed to, cleans and checks the pool and answers all my questions. Well done!!
Excellent, professional pool cleaning/maintenance. Always on time and done right the first time. I have never had to call poolman back. Would recommend.
I just watched one of your technicians sit in front of my house for 10 minutes and I guarantee you that when I call I will hear these words, looks like they rung the door bell twice and no one was home. Someone is ALWAYS home, and no. No one rings the doorbell. We've even asked for double measure of proof of your incompetence that you call when you've arrived. No calls. No doorbell ring. No door knock. It's been about a month now that we haven't been able to use our pool because it is filthy. We've had to cancel a birthday get together, we can't sit in our backyard to relax because the now swamp-like pool is attracting all kinds of insects. I had to scoop a dead bird out of the pool just days ago. You started sending someone on Fridays last month and there always seems to be a reason that we have to wait until the following week to get our pool cleaned. And of course you come the next Friday where there's another issue that will cause us to wait. When you actually follow through on your service the pool looks great, but lately this service has been a complete waste. Also it doesn't help that NO ONE EVER ANSWERS THE PHONE. I would like for someone to reach out asap.
thank you.
Our pool cleaner, Arthur, does a wonderful job taking the time to get our pool sparkling clean. The repair team, in our experience, responds in a timely manner to diagnose the problem and make the adjustments or repairs needed. The customer service reps I have spoken to are friendly and professional. The remodeling department, however, has not responded in a timely manner, which is why I am giving 4 stars and not 5.
I have been using Poolman for over 5 years and am very pleased with their service. My pool is always sparkling clean and they notify me immediately if my technician observes something needs to be replaced or repaired. Rolando has been a wonderful technician. This year Poolman redid my 30 year old pool deck and it looks fabulous!!!! I greatly recommend their service.
Will is the best pool service technician i have had. He is very thorough and my pool has never looked better! It is always clear now, even with the increase in windy days and dust. He Communicates well if/when my pool situation changes and let me know clearly what he’s doing to maintain it. He goes the extra mile to make sure he’s ahead of any situation as opposed to responding to problems. Before he came, I was planning on canceling my pool service because I felt like I could do just as good of a job as the other company. Now, that i see the value, I don’t think I’m going to get rid of pool service! Thanks a lot Will!!

Will is our pool guy and he is great for all things relating to the pool
THEY USED TO BE SO GOOD!!!! but have gone WAY downhill .....FAST... Been with them a long time mostly due to me trying to be understanding. but I've been having issues and they raised their prices twice last year. been trying to call about my issues for a week and a half! but nobody answers and they don't return messages. The technicians don't seem to check the equipment they install at all!! I'm now staring at what is my 2nd bad salt cell in a few years but again i can't get them to answer the phone to help. (which i shouldnt have to do anyways the techs should be checking that) $110 bucks for a tech to come out for 90 seconds twice a month is not competitive in this market... for a few dollars more i can get a better company to come out every week and not only balance but sweep and empty baskets (which poolman does not do for $110) but i would have to speak to someone to cancel and again they don't answer phones! finally today i got someone in their commercial dept to pick up the phone (im not a commercial client but was just randomly hitting phone options looking for a human) and they are sending someone out to look at the salt cell... we'll see what he says but most likely going to cancel unless they pull off a miracle.
Edit: if you think my frustration is only due to the complete lack of value in your current pricing then you didn’t read my post
Edit2: also daily amazing that they haven’t answered their phone in over a week but can reply to a Google review in like 10 minutes. ?
I love Poolman’s weekly service and have the best pool guy “Will” who comes over every Friday on time and does an outstanding job every week. He brushes the entire pool. Empties all baskets, vacuums and treats my chemicals and my pool is always crystal clear. Haven’t been more satisfied and would like to give a shout out to Will and Poolman’s service and would recommend to anyone.
I cannot say enough good things about Poolman! Justin, our technician is very professional. He always communicates what services were performed as well as anything our pool needs. We have a large pool so Justin recommended a product at the beginning of the summer that would help keep it looking crystal clear. He does a fantastic job maintaining our pool! Their office staff is easy to communicate with and very friendly. We are so happy with the service that we’ve referred them to several friends in the last six months. Great company.
Buyer beware. I am not sure what is happening with this business. The company was awesome prior a month ago. We have been with them for 2 years. We have had 4 different technicians the last 4 weeks and the latest one, David, issues a report that the pool has been cleaned however he never came to the house. I have pictures showing the pool is still dirty. My wife and I are also home at the time of the supposed cleaning but no one came to our yard to clean the pool. Trying to get this resolved with management however no one picks up the phone.
Still waiting for the call the owner put in the reply as a response to my review and I haven’t heard anything on my calls
This company is impossible to get in touch with. Multiple calls that go to voicemail and then they do not call back. I have been trying to get a significant leak from the salt cell fixed for many days. I will be shopping for another pool service company. Terrible customer service.

We have used this company for several years, the service kept getting worse and worse. Only comes every other week, a different service person every single time. The pool started turning green, they didn't do a darn thing about, had to call and complain. That's the only time that they would do anything about it. The service person would come out, walk around the pool, never putting a needed chemicals in.
I would never ever recommend this company for anything!!

The teach for our home is lazy! I had to tell him he needed to brush the steps and the walls. He has not backwash our pool in over 3 weeks. I am home to watch his work. He left garbage in my yard and in my pool. Poolman was a great service, but this tech has left a green tint to our pool! I have been trying to get a hold of someone for the last few hours and nothing! Finally get a phone call to speak to a condescending young girl. Worst service!!! I miss the service when pineapple pools was in charge of our account ?
While the service individual taking care of our pool does a fair to good job weekly, the overall experience with Poolman has been unacceptable. Poolman bought my pool service company (Pool Agency) and it has been a disappointing experience dealing with the Corporate Office ever since. For starters, they somehow forgot to bill us for 8 months when we should have been on auto pay. A very nice service technician addressing a small repair let me know of the issue upon which I immediately squared the account- never got a single call from anyone. A month later I get a bill reminding me I still owe this amount despite having already paid it... of course the added jargon about collections is in the letter - Im sure its another oversight but Ill just give them a call and make sure they get it worked out- never a live person- automated system takes you right to due to a large volume of calls immediately with every call- i have left messages and requests to call for days. I eagerly await the dignity of a simple phone call and maybe...just maybe an apology... for now- try another provider.....
The kid never added chemicals to my pool then when we stop service they continue to bill me unbeknownst to me it is now been 8 months and received a huge late bill saying that if I do not pay this bill they will turn me into collections. They actually owe me one week's service as I quit them a week before the billing cycle ended I pay my bills online it comes directly out of my account I have the receipts no one will call me back. Anyone else have this problem maybe it's time to have a class action suit as no one will get back to me
I couldn’t be happier with my pool service. Rolando by far is the best in the business. I’ve never had such an awesome technician take care of my pool over the last 15 years. Rolando is always on it, my pool has never been more clear and clean. I can’t tell you enough how happy I am and would recommend Rolando and Poolman to anyone looking for a High Quality pool cleaning company.
On time, quick service. Great job!! Will definitely use again!!

Worst pool company they don't care about the customer or there pool workers it all about money .they expect to much from the tech but don't give them the right tools to attack the cause if it was a green pool they think with a salt system it Ganna cure all .they stress the workers to hall all this salt for pools and to have so many go Green .techs need the tools to fight the problem at the time they are there
algicide. phos remover .cal hypo.to get the problem before it gets worse. And later look down on them for having green pools.shock and tabs don't just do it it's more then that poolman likes to work them harder and blame the tech. It's Co. bad management they worry more on what the tech is doing then the customer to save a buck treating them like there Lucky to work there like there's no other job other then them. They promise to givebut then they take back what they say to techs they find something to discredit them from the work theydo and take bonus or however they did it but pay never added up.many years nothing to show for not even a thanks
If I could give zero stars I would. They are LITERALLY the worst pool company ever! We were using another company that Poolman bought out and since then have had awful service. We cannot get ahold of anyone. We had a major service scheduled and I tried to reach them for over 24 hours with no response, then the technician just showed up at our house. We finally got ahold of them a few days ago to cancel our service and then this morning AGAIN someone randomly shows up. This shows their lack of communication amongst their crew. This is unacceptable in a service business.
BEWARE. They install a salt system that remains theirs. If you decide to move on, they will come and remove it or allow you to buy it. Our unit is 6 years old and they want to charge over $550 for me to keep it. Mind you, that system is already out of warranty. Do not trust them when you talk to them. Our pool went green this spring and spoke with a manager. He assured me they would be doing spot checks on the technician. 6 weeks later, the pool was green again only 2 days after he'd been out to our place for the service. When I called, there was ZERO documentation that spot checks were happening. When I expressed my frustration, I was told they cannot babysit all of their technicians. Looks like they need to babysit the managers as well. Don't even start with them, you'll live to regret it.
First pool company I hired, awful experience. Called in to have my pool drained and filled. Talking with a rep she mentioned 1.5 days to drain, next day 1.5 to fill and than balance the water the next. Which will be a 4-5 day process.. They had a tech come out and just dropped a pump off and left, said he will be back in twos days. 4 days later, no tech. So I decided to acid washed and filled up my pool and balance the chemicals myself. 5th day the tech came and picked up the pump and just left. Few days later they sent a supervisor to come and balance my chemicals, which I already done. I mentioned to him about what happen and how I was not satisfied with the service and promise of 4 days, that turned to almost 2 weeks and I am not paying for a service that you didn't really do, he just said ok, your water is good and left. Than few months later I get a bill saying I have a past due amount. Past due, for what service? The one I had to do myself. I'm not paying them, if they decide to send my bill to collection I rather settle with them than give any money to poolman.
Service has deteriorated. I have been a customer for 8 years. The last year has been one minor repair after another. Every month something different. Felt like I was being taken advantage of. The final straw was I ok’d an O ring repair. The tech opened the back wash valve and forgot to close. My pool service ran overnight and in the morning the pool level was down 6”. The techs are poorly trained. When I called to cancel my service the person I talked with never asked why I was quitting. I guess they really don’t want to know why customers leave. Just get new ones!
I have been with poolman for 26 years and they just flaked on me. They only come out every other week to put chemicals in. When green slime started to appear, they refused to return phone calls and did not fix the problem. Extremely extremely unhappy with them. I have a rental property and there was a leak in one of the pipes. Poolman said if they fixed it they would start chemical it. I got it fixed with Poolman and they never started chemicals. The company is definitely going downhill. Good luck if you hire them

We have been using Poolman since 2015 and have been very pleased with the service provided. Our technician Kyler is incredibly professional, knowledgeable, and kind. He immediately communicates any concerns to us. He takes ownership in getting pool issues rectified with the technicians for us and goes above and beyond to make sure the equipment is working and the chemicals are balanced. We would definitely recommend Poolman to our friends and family.
Service is terrible. The company doesn't communicate well with homeowners. My service day gets switched without my knowledge, my service technician get switched without my knowledge. My side gate key is with the technician that serviced my pool 2 months ago and they can't find my side gate key. The guy quits and no one tells me. Frustrating. Do not hire big companies like this. Their low level technicians have destroyed my pool equipment a high end Hayward system. I had to replace parts thus summer and due to high amount of chemical my stones around my spa is now purple and it's cake on with so much calcium build up.
Where to start... My parents have lived at the same house for 15+ years and for some unknown reason our landlord has continued to use this company's services. Over the years we have had several issues with the company and no improvement has ever been seen. there have been many weeks where no one has shown up at all and many more where the work is incomplete. My biggest complaint with this company is their apparent lack of professionalism and terrible customer service. Almost every time we've had an issue with something we'd get a short generic response after sometimes hours on hold saying that they'd get someone out to fix it, while the issue remained unfixed for an additional 2 to 3 weeks. By the way, they have a terrible tendency to leave back gates open, even when you put a laminated sign on the gate reminding them to close it. We have had 4 dogs over the years and every single one of them has gotten out of the backyard because the gate had been left open. if it wasn't for our landlord continuing to throw money at them, we would have cut ties with this company ages ago. I would not recommend this company to anyone. They're lack of quality service is absolutely not acceptable.

We've been with this service for years, but over the last year service has plummeted. Our pool used to be crystal clear, but now there are calcium deposits and algae growing because our salt system wasn't working in the tech never noticed.. Our techs are almost different every time someone comes. We and our current tech have requested a full deep clean at least four times, but the company has yet to respond. It's impossible to get anyone on the phone. We feel stuck in a service that we hate because they own the equipment we use. This is absolutely ridiculous do not use this company.

Constant problems with service. Either it is a new tech being sent each week and inconsistency in completing tasks or problems with basic accounting issues. For 4 months the new system just not charge the credit card on file...then they called and wanted it paid all at once. What's worse is their accounts department treated me like I am a delinquent customer when this was their fault. After I made a payment plan they didn't follow it and double billed me. When I asked for some explanation they were again rude.
Joe Sowers does a great job with the Weekly cleaning Thank you

Justin does an excellent job of keeping our pool swim ready. We appreciate his attention to detail and his responsiveness to any concern that we have ever had. If you are looking for a pool service, Poolman is definitely one you should consider.
Never show up when they are supposed to, call to complain and get told my service date is a different day than they've been coming on for months. Then get told that my appointment has been pushed back TWICE now, two days in a row. This isn't even the first time they have failed to come on the day that they're supposed to be here without any notice. They never call to explain there is a problem and we have been pushed back - we have to call to ask why they're not here and then get attitude from the person who calls back. Our vacuum broke a month ago and they have been aware of it since the end of June - it is now the end of July and the vacuum has still not been fixed despite multiple email and phone inquiries about it. I am requesting that the rental company who owns my home transfers us to a different service. 0/10, would not recommend.
I did not hire Poolman, they purchased, I believe, the company I used prior. They worded on my rental property and my tenant complained of burning eyes and skin. Good luck trying to contact them and speak to a human!!! I tried numerous times and you get the pleasure of holding for a long time and then they say it has been so long that you must now leave a message. Then good luck getting a call back. It is not like this is a discount pool company, my monthly fee was just she of $150 a month for a play pool. If you care about customer service, and your finances do not hire this company. Maybe others have a different experience but this is my experience.

This is an absolutely terrible company. We used to have Pineapple Pools and figured they would have kept on the same crew from that company when they bought it. I said to my husband, I know they have some bad reviews, but how bad can it really be? I wish I had listened to the reviews as it is has been worse than I could have imagined.
We started service with them in December and they first came on December 23rd. I received a note and an update of the work that was done. They NEVER came back to my house after that. I provided them with pictures of my pool with debris on the bottom and a basket full of leaves on the afternoon they were supposed to have cleaned. I am paying for their most expensive service and don't expect to have to follow up behind them to make sure work is being done. Additionally, they had my filter running from 6am until midnight, which is ridiculous for this time of year.
I called repeatedly and never got a call back. I left messages and finally got through to someone my sixth time calling. They are refusing to refund my money even though I had family members at the house that could confirm no one ever came. I never received any notes of service after the first time they came. AFTER I cancelled someone came to my house and dumped a bunch of chemicals into my pool which has my pool chlorine into a toxic level. They also left my back gate open. Thank goodness I hadn't let my dogs out yet or they would have gotten out.
I have had to find new service and have had multiple people come out to give quotes. They are all saying that my pool is at a point where we need to drain and refill after what Poolman has done to it.
I have been repeatedly asking for a manager to call me and am still waiting. Stay away from this company!
Our Poolman service tech, Kenny has been great. Not only does he arrive at the same time & day every week, he cleans & checks our pool & equipment professionally & efficiently. Having taken care of our pool myself for 4 years I appreciate thet attention & care Kenny gives our pool. A stellar Poolman employee, very reliable!!
So-so. We inherited this company when they acquired our regular pool people a couple years ago. I kind of liked my old pool company, but alas, they are no more. They generally do a really nice job on the pool, though they did kill several of my plants by backwashing into the planter, then said it wasn't possible due to a 10 foot backwash hose (was actually 25 feet). Did nothing about my dead plants, They periodically tell me need several hundred dollars worth of work done to my pool filter, and then said the display was broken on my intelliflow pump, and they would be happy to install a new pump for $1700. Display works fine if leave the cover closed. When my technician comes, he leaves my pump running on high 24/7 even though I vane asked them not to do that, it only needs to run part of the day, it has 4 settings, Finally, billing is a nightmare, my bill has been screwed up so many times it's not funny. They kept billing me for things I paid for last summer. Took months to resolve it. $109 a month for once a week, 45 minutes (if that) for a 13000 gallon play pool.

At first, our service with Poolman was quite satisfactory. They were recommended to us by my sister-in-law, and once we saw that they will instal a free salt water system we were instantly sold. Over the course of time, we started noticing the service going down hill. I had contacted customer service when I had finally had enough. The pool technician always stayed parked out in the front of our house for at least 15-20 minutes (no big deal there) but would only spend five minutes flat in our backyard. Our security cameras capture what time he comes in and when he departments. He clearly couldn't see us inside, because then he would've bothered to skim the pool and empty the basket; which is part of the service that we pay for.
When I had called customer service, they stated that a manager would be coming out to check his work without him knowing and to address our algae problem. Well, he didn't show up the day we were told, he was apparently scheduled for a different day. The day that he did show up, he stated he had no knowledge of having to check the technicians job. He shocked the pool and stated he would be back the next day to check if that was enough or if the algae required more. Well... he never showed the next day! My husband gave them a call, and guess what! They said it wasn't necessary for him to come back. Then why did he guarantee my husband that he would come back to follow up?
Then the next week, another manager comes out. She also had no knowledge as to having to check the technician's job. She checked the chemical balance and when my husband went inside to check on the dogs, by the time he came out she had left. He still had questions that now once again, were being left unanswered (yes that I will say was more on him than her for going inside). The one thing she did reassure him about was that the technician is supposed to leave a paper after service, which he had not been doing for a long time.
This was a few weeks ago; fast forward to this past week. We get our service done on Mondays, and when my husband had asked weeks ago if we could get a different technician he basically told that is impossible. Our most recent service was on August 17, 2020. The pool technician (surprisingly) left a paper stating which service he had completed, which included emptying of the basket. Which, low and behold, when I had checked, the basket was at max capacity. I understand some leaves would be in there no matter what, but it was still as full as it had been the night before. And, of course, the algae issue still has not been resolved. It's actually GETTING WORSE.
Poolman has proven to us that they are quite incompetent with their service. They do not care to correct issues that they caused (as there was no algae in the pool until we started using Poolman) and when an employee of their's obviously can't do their job properly, they don't seem to care to fix that. There clearly is a lack of communication from the moment you speak with someone on the phone, to the moment a manager or technician shows up. The free salt water system is absolutely awesome; but it's not worth it!
Do yourself a favor and find yourself a reputable company. Even if they charge a little more than Poolman does, I'm sure it'll be a company that genuinely enjoy's their job and cares about keeping customers.
Great experience with Poolman. I called their office and they had a technician out the following day to evaluate the damage another pool company had done to my pool. Dan arrived on time and did great plumbing work for my new pool pump. Their prices were very reasonable and I have since signed up for them to maintain my pool on a weekly basis.

Decided to leave this review during my 30+ minute wait on hold with Poolman. While our pool technician has been good, this was only after an initial complaint when we realized he spent around 5 minutes cleaning our pool- leaving debris unskimmed and the basket not emptied. This was verified by our outdoor cameras.
My biggest complaint is Poolman's lack of communication and customer service. I was enrolled in automatic payments for years however, due to some reason unannounced to me, the automatic payments stopped. All while I assumed everything was fine and the payments were being drafted each month as they had been for the prior 2 years.
At no point did anyone call me, send an email or stop service because of this. Instead, they continued to service my pool for months and then send a collection notice in the mail for close to $1000. This is the first piece of mail I've received about this matter, additionally no phone calls or emails.
When I finally got thru, they explained this happened to every customer by mistake however, I couldn't even speak to a manager to ask follow up questions. SELECT ANOTHER PROVIDER FOLKS.
While I have no problem paying for the service rendered, I am baffled at how this situation got to this point and how they except at first communication to pay the amount in one lump sum. I have already filed a complaint with BBB and look forward to hearing Poolmans explanation, that's if I ever attempt to reach or be contacted by a human being.
Poolman- Thanks for the years of service, multiple & recent up charges to more than $25/mo and for helping me to make an easy decision by going with a different pool service.

I've called for 2 days straight and no one is answering the phone and have not returned 3 messages and an email. My pool is green because they missed last week, and haven't come yet this week. Monday was the normal day. Are you out of business? At least return phone calls!!!

I would recommend Poolman for there excellent pool service. Justin cleans our pool weekly. He lets us know a half hour before he will be at our home so we are able to put our dogs away. He is professional, efficient, knowledgeable and does a great job. I would recommend this pool company if your looking for a great pool company!

We have Bryan Walters as our pool technician-he is newer to our service but had big shoes to fill from Joe - our former tech. Bryan is very thorough and does a great job each time he cleans our pool. He is also responsive to our feedback or questions! Great guy and ambassador for your company! Melanie and Joe Drazkowski
I would give poolman a 5 star rating but I’ve had so many issues with previous pool techs and untimely responses from people in the office when I’ve had issues that I thought about finding a new pool company. However, Terrance Wilson who is my pool tech now is amazing and does an awesome job! Terrance is very personal and knowledgeable, I would hope that this company appreciates his hard work and dedication to you guys.

We’ve been using Poolman for over a year and are very happy with their service. John S. is very professional, efficient and polite and is very helpful with any questions or issues we may have with our pool or the equipment. We are pleased to have John as our pool tech.
Ky is our pool guy and he’s awesome. Very friendly, always nice to my kids. Accommodating, especially in the summer when he would arrive and I was doing swim laps he made sure the next week to arrive a little later as not to interrupt. Would recommend Poolman company to family and friends.

Poolman has horrible customer service. Our service technician has changed multiple times this year. It is August (Monsoon Season) and they have shown up once this month. They added a ton of chemicals and left a note Not for Swimming. That was 2 weeks ago. I have had a pool for 18 years and under their watch I have experienced my pool turning green twice within 4 months. The service manager told me it was my fault, despite the fact they didn't show up for several weeks. I am about ready to pull their salt water system and throw it to the curb. Whoever gets here first gets it. So very close. If you are in the zip code of 85308, please consider another pool company.
Have never had the best experience with pool technicians where ever we looked until Will was assigned to our home. Will goes way above and beyond what he is required to do to keep our pool looking it’s best. As long as Will is around we will be using Poolmans services.
My husband and I are from the MIdwest and expect quality in our contractors. We have been so impressed with Poolman that we have them taking care of multiple pools for us as well as given then several referrals. If you are looking for a trusting, professional and dependable pool service look no further. We personally give our stamp of approval. We are happy customers for over 3 years now. There is no comparison to the others.

Poolman is simply the best pool service I have ever had. I live in a rural area of Pinal County, and I have a pool that is 14 foot deep at one end. I ALWAYS have a sparkling clean pool. Steve is my technician, and he is awesome! He does a great job week in and week out. Russ is my point of contact if I suspect anything is amiss with the system; he answers promptly and assesses the issue quickly. The office support staff and billing provide great customer service. Why aren't you using Poolman???
I’ve been with Poolman since March and I love their services. Justin is the pool tech that services my pool every week and contacts me if there are any issues. I switch to Poolman because it was affordable and I have not regretted it. I would recommend Poolman to anyone that is looking for affordable services with excellent customer service!
Same problem with the last reviewer. They have serviced my pool for 5 years, and never was green until the last several months. It’s been green several times now and I’m ready to cancel. They can’t handle it. Also, I gave them a new card to charge me and they told me they added it to their system. Then I realized I had several months of unpaid fines from them, called them and they blamed it on their new “system”
While the employees I have interacted with were kind I have had a very frustrating experience with Poolman AZ. I scheduled an appointment to have my pool drained and acid washed on 4/23. The morning of my appointment I received a call to cancel my appointment because I had not signed a draining waiver. I sent the waiver right back but was told I would not be able to have the pool drained as the technician had already left the office for the day and didn’t have the necessary tools. Later that morning I get a call from the technician to tell me he was on the way and would be here by noon. At 1pm I called the technician to find out where he was and he said that he wouldn’t come until Monday as he was overbooked for the day. Not at all the story I was told earlier that morning. I requested to speak to a manager, no response.
On Monday, he installed the drain and left, said he had other stops. Tuesday he came and cleaned the filters and acid wash and started refilling the pool and told me someone would be out tomorrow to put the chemicals in. I didn’t like that I had to call and check in with the technician everyday on what time he was coming.
I put in a call and an email to find out when they would be coming by to complete the job and was told they wouldn’t be here until tomorrow.
It is very frustrating to be sitting around with no ETA no updates etc. What only should be a two to three day process is being dragged out to a week. Also, they requested full payment up front but there is no incentive to the customer to make sure the job is done correctly and within a decent time frame. I realize that this is probably their busy season but wish they would communicate and be more cognizant to my time as a paying customer.
Still waiting to hear from a manager.
Unfortunately, I wouldn’t recommend this company at this time.
Jerold is the BEST TECHNICIAN ever! He is professional, kind, very respectful, a light, warm, very knowledgeable of everything from chemicals to the mechanics of everything as well as back washing vacuum main and brushing he puts 1000% into his efforts and is always having a smile on his face and pleasant!
The technology that Poolman offers for everything they do is far superior compared to any other companies. They immediately sends you not only photographs of Before & After your pool has been cleaned and treated they also show you a table as well as actual measurements of what chemicals or tablets have been added to your pool. Additionally if there are any repairs needed those are also mentioned in these summarisation of their service afterwards.
Jerold goes way above and beyond even leaving a written notice of what he has done with sometimes a personal note which is quite unimaginable in today's world how respectful and kind he is carrying about his clients.
Their emails are instantaneous as well as transparently asking for your reviews or any issues you may have to write back the office is also outstanding in their phone service any time you call or they need to call you.
Additionally there billing and paperwork are streamlined to the same outstanding ability and transparency through your emails and makes it easy to set up auto pay for your services.
As a final note remember that the person who takes care of your pool you trust with your skin, accidentally breathing in water so it should not have harmful harmful bacteria or out of parameter chemical imbalances and making sure you do not have any leaks that will make your water bill rise substantially. Yes that is their job the don't forget so many people out there rush through things and you never know what they do unless you have a security camera I can tell you 1st hand there has never been anyone better then Jerold as our professional pool technician or this company Poolman over all in every single way.
So the next time Jerold comes your way smile and know that the trust you have placed in him will always be carried out to the highest of levels! Also, remember how much you and your family rely on him as well as Poolman.
We even ordered & affixed a black top flap metal mailbox to an inner patio wall in the shade always leaving Jerold a cool drink & snack in a bag letting him know how much we appreciate him and to also respect how hard he just worked taking care of our pool and to keep him fueled on hydration & treat for his long day ahead.
Trust me when I say that most people take professionals like Jerold for granted but WE ALL could never do what he does all day long nor would want to especially in the heat of Arizona!
Thank you Jerold & Poolman so much.

So we decided to find a new pool maintenance company. My neighbor uses Poolman and he said he is satisfied with them, and that is great. And I trust his judgment. We haven't used them yet, nor will we. I called them 10 days ago to request an estimate for our pool maintenance. They arranged it so that Cameron would come today, June 10 between 8 and 9 a.m. At 8:30 I get a call from them telling me Cameron's schedule is really booked and he won't be able to come out today because he has to take his daughter to swimming lessons???? Really????? You didn't know this back when you were scheduling? Asked if they could come tomorrow, and I said yes as long as it is the same time frame. They said he would call when he can get here and give us an ETA. After the call I decided I didn't like that. First it irritated me that Cameron suddenly had this appt for his daughter's swim lessons. Then I was not confident by the call that he would show up between 8 and 9. So I called the company to cancel Cameron, or anyone for that matter. When I got the message it said I was #4 in the queue. I waited 20 minutes and then the message came on to say I am sorry due to high call volume we cannot take your call. How did it go from #4 to such high call volume? So I called again and went to X127 which is Rebbecca Marro. (the name and extension my neighbor initially gave me). I called her once before and got no answer. I called her this time, she didn't answer....no surprise there. Got her VM. left her a message to make sure they don't come tomorrow. I will find another company. While I am glad that my next door neighbor has had good experience, I will not use this company.
OH Another thing. There were two different times (that we know of) on Thursdays over the last few months where a pool guy came through our gate, and came around to clean the pool. The first time I didn't recognize him asked who he was and he looked at me like I had two heads. He said he was there to clean the pool. I asked him what company he is with and he said Poolman. I told him he wanted the house next door and he said the GPS brought him here. I said your GPS should have taken you next door. The last time it happened, which was just a couple weeks back we were having our back patio renovated and our pool resurfaced and retiled. The pool was empty of course. Around the corner comes another guy, from Poolman. Had to tell him the same thing. I wonder how many times we weren't home that our pool got cleaned and our neighbor's didn't. I did let my neighbor know it happened so he could be on the lookout.
This is NO WAY to attract new business. HORRIBLE!
This is the first time in years I’ve been completely comfortable leaving our pool for the summer. I love that we have the same tech every week, he shows up when he’s supposed to, checks everything and understands salt water systems. I am supremely happy with the service we receive from Poolman. This is not a ‘splash and dash’ pool service company.
Making an appointment for pool cleaning was effortless and the technician arrived as scheduled. He did a thorough job with my pool and did it efficiently so I was only charged for 1 hour of service! I consistently receive excellent service and highly recommend this company!

Poolman purchased the contracts of our previous company. We have our own salt system. A couple of months after Poolman started servicing our pool, a major component failed, and they charged us $800 to replace it. The next month another major part failed, and they said our best option was to replace the whole thing for $1400. We were going to do it, because, heck the system IS 20 years old...but wait...didn't I see something on their website once??....OH YEAH...they install their own salt systems FREE when you are a monthly paying customer!!! So why did I pay for that $800 part??? And why were they going to charge me $1400? When I brought this to their attention, I didn't even get an apology...which honestly was the last straw. Our pool hadn't been looking clean anyway; I had just been lazy about trying to find someone else. And when I did...we were 200 LBS...yes 200 LBS low on Chlorine...so what exactly had they been doing with our pool Jan-April??? And here is the last kicker...I have been trying to cancel for months, and they say...you can't cancel by email...well, they have a voicemail that says because of COVID they are short staffed so please email... and I am getting past due notices... So here I am. Hoping they will see this and know I am dead serious. This is ridiculous. I hope others don't pay for their equipment and are watching their chemicals. They were clearly not testing my water and treating it weekly with what it needed. And rather than me paying them, frankly, they should have apologized and repaid me $800 for that part they install for free for all of their other customers...then we would still be doing business with them, and they wouldn't have this 1 star review...
REVIEW UPDATE: I cancelled Poolman back in February cuz they were awful. Made sure the account was totally paid off. Now 5 months later I get ONE notice tell me I owe $200 and they are charging me late fees for not paying?? PLEASE DO NOT CHOOSE THIS COMPANY ITS AWFUL. TRULY. Save yourself heartache and money and find someone else.
I left a review a couple months ago when things were great. Now? Not great. They missed service 4 times. They missed service 2 weeks in a row! No refund offered for missed service. I call their customer Sevice line to get them to come out and they NEVER ANSWER. I’m not talking about 1 or 2 calls. I’m talking. 15-20 calls at all different times of the day! They also Upped the price from $110 to $140? I ended up cancelling and going with local.
We’ve been using Poolman for quite a few years now and are happy with their service. Jake M. Is our pool tech and he does a very thorough job and always answers any questions we may have. He does a great job!

Great company. They deliver great service consistently year after year. Any time our pool has had issues they have notified us. Their salt program is an awesome benefit for their customers. We have always had professional and prompt service, which is saying alot as we have been on service for 12 years. It's rare to find a company that goes above and beyond to make things right and has as much integrity as Poolman does. If there ever has been a problem they have always been very prompt in sending a manager out to resolve it. Just a very solid good company.

We hired this service to clean our pool once a week. In the short time we have used them they have never come on their scheduled day. We keep our gate locked and unlock it on our scheduled pool cleaning day. Every week they have not been able to come on our scheduled day and then forget to notify us so we can leave the gate unlocked on the next day for them to return. Horrible communication and customer service. Their inability to properly schedule their staff should be a warning to other customers to not use this company if they actually want their pool cleaned.

I worked for this company for a few months. I left because they are shady and unprofessional to another level! They even tampered with my last check! During the time I worked here I really tried to help property managers out but PoolMan company always pushed my request and property managers over!!! I’d never get answers from office and when issues arose, even one property managers said that managers at PoolMan are push overs meaning they never answered or fixed anything!!!
So many complaints about the company and when I tried to address them they just didn’t care !! Poor company!!!! Poor customer service!!! Poor employment choice!!!! You’ll be better off choosing another actual professional POOL COMPANY but not this one ! Trust ……

What a great experience! Usually when you contract out for a job this large you worry about everything. Not with Poolman. They did exactly what they said they would plus more! They set the pump, chipping crew was out I'm finished on time. Plaster crew came out as schedule and finished on time. Poolman sent out managers to do the plastic care and follow-up service. Now my 40 year old pool looks new! And the big shocker... not a penny over estimated cost!!! Plus the job was done drastically cheaper than other estimates from other companies. Thank you for man!

Overall I have had a good experience with Poolman, specifically with John. He has communicated well and kept my pool looking clear. At times when my pool changed colors, John was sure to get a manager to come inspect it until it was no longer green.
I just bought a new home with a pool I do not know how to use. It has a pop-up system. I called a couple of pool places for a lesson. They charge $150 at most other places.
When I called Poolman the customer service woman told me they offer a service for customers like me called Pool 101.
They charge $75 for an hour lesson. Half the price of the 2 other places I called.
Sign me up!
2 days later Scott came out and told me all about my pool system. He was funny and courteous and explained things with examples I can understand. If I needed to ask a question or cover something again he gladly would.
I highly recommend Scott and Poolman!
The service itself was fine, but stay as far away from their maintenance department as much as you can.
My filter started doing some blowback and was making the pool dirty and hard to clean, so a manager came out and said I needed a sand change. I asked for a quote but never got one...
A few weeks later another manager comes out and says my pool takes to long to clean so they'll have to raise my prices.. But if I buy this new $500 pool vacuum he'll drop the price back down to where it was (I didn't buy it). I ask about the quote for the sand change again, but he doesn't know anything about it and calls, no record of it. They'll send someone else back out to quote me again later.
Again someone else comes out, looks at everything and I get a quote in the email later. They say I now need a whole new filter for $1600.
So here I am, them wanting me to blow $2200 on service. I called a competitor they came out and looked at it all. For less then 1/4 of that $2200 they did the sand change and fixed all the other issues. My filter is fine, it has probably another good 8 years in it. The vacuum is fine and working properly now that the sand is fixed. $20 in chemicals and my pool is clear again.
They're supposed to come pick up their salt system today and stop service.
Pool not clean-Overall not happy with this service. Pool was simply not clean when they left, with visible dirt and debris on pool sides and on bottom. Guy would stop by and spend a few minutes doing minimal work.
One time when they noticed my pump bearings were going, my system was somehow left on all day. Ironically I received an email from Pool man the new day with a list of proposed repairs. Chems were also off to the point where I developed a rash every time I went in the pool.
I switched to a pool service in our area and am much, much happier.
John has always been responsive to any special requests or concerns I may have had and relayed them to his main office to ensure that my concerns were addressed. He works quickly, is considerate of my pets even though they are a slight nuisance. We are moving out of state in November, and I will sincerely miss their service.

Pool man shows up at different times of the day, pool is also green at least twice a month. Salt residue is left all over cool deck or in rocks, no one returns my calls. I don’t even know what they’re supposed to be doing when they show up because my pool just looks terrible all the time. I always have to go back out and clean it myself, save your money!
If there was another company that offered the salt water pool I would switch in a heartbeat.

Have used Poolman for several years and they leave our pool sparkling clean every week. We love the salt water system. We even moved once and they removed the system, returned the old system to fully functional prior conditions. Then they placed a new system on our new house. All this was very simple.
One of the worst pool services I have ever had.... we never originally signed up with pool man we were signed up with pineapple pools which was the Best pool service we ever had until they sold out and pool man bought there company. We gave pool man a try which was a BIG MISTAKE. They said our motor was out on or pool pump and quoted us $1800to fix and found we out from another pool company our breaker was out and our pool system is working just fine ... this isn’t the first time they said something was broke on one of our pools that turned out to be just fine. The company that pool man bought to gain us a customer had made repairs on our pool and not even 6 months later they tried to have us pay them to repair the same parts and wouldn’t warranty them even though they had a 3 year warranty. Pool man was just a mess ever since they bought out pineapple pools and the worst company to ever use to maintenance pools. The $110 a month was not worth it at all. And more than a hassle than maintaining my own pool myself.

I would recommend Pool Man services because they have done a great job keeping my pool clean and balanced. I like the extra effort they make to call before coming. This allows me time to lock up my dogs. We are really looking forward to the new salt system that was just installed. The lease program is great!

I am cancelling my pool service first thing tomorrow morning. This is breech of contract. Hi hire poolman to make sure everything is running properly, especially because I am a new pool owner. My pool went for months like this and all of a sudden I got a new tech and my pool looks like the one on the left. They didn't do their job. Now I have to pay more money to get someone out to clean up their mess. It's not worth having a free salt water system. Not if my pool is going to be looking like this. The only reason why I gave two stars instead of one is because the original tech who cleaned my pool was awesome and did his job but he no longer works there. Big fat F for Poolman and NO refferals.

We have been customers for over 20 years and lately the quality of service has gone down. We keep seeing prices go up and service is going down. I am currently shopping for another pool service.
We had poolman for over 8 years each year the service has gone down but because we had there salt system we have lived with disappointment. Every month we get a new tech and he has no clue how to keep our pool in check. we pay all year for the summer months to swim in our pool last 3 years they have failed to keep our pool ready for now swim time there techs are clueless on how to keep our pool balanced. There management always have a excuse for there terrible service Well as of today they can take there equipment and leave there Management is always a excuse for lack of service. Anyone considering them should be prewarnded

Poolman left our property gate opened multiple times, leaving our pool exposed to children in our neighborhood. The consequences could have been disastrous. Our pool was also consistently green and their continual rotation of technicians left us with poor quality service. Do yourself a solid and use someone else.

My service tech is William Fuller. He does an outstanding timely professional job. His service exceeds my expectations. He is better than most of my past technicians. I like consistency in my techs . I hope he keeps this route and is my service tech for a long time. thxz

We have used them for years and cannot get them to do a simple repair. We have been waiting for literally months for them to fix a part, and algae keeps growing, so they keep having to shock the pool, which makes it look better for the day but unsafe to swim. They are happy to take your money when all they have to do is a 5 minute visit 1x/week, but refuse to make a repair despite continually promising to do so.
If I could post pictures here, I would show the $5,000 worth of acid spill damage running from my pool, back porch, down my dogrun, and all the way down my driveway to the technicians parking spot, all caused from a routine pool cleaning. After arguing with manager, to managers manager, to boss, with them for over a month they finally admitted that this was caused by them and they refused to fix the damage, saying that the most effort they were willing to do was give me a few months free service and otherwise I could fix it myself. Use at your own risk. I will never make that mistake again. I can't believe I paid them for this.
I have had issues with my pool for years with regular pool services until I came across Poolman. I was enticed by the free soft water system as I wanted to get one but I did NOT want the maintainance issues, so to me it was a no brainer :). That was nearly 4 years ago and the water is refreshing, my dogs love it as there is no itching for them or me and I have not had the dreaded algae issue I had every year previous to Poolman servicing my pool. I have recommended Poolman to 5 people and they have had the same experience and are still with them, too.

I personally like our techs but I am not totally happy the the overall company. My current tech is Jake M. I feel he may not always want to see me but he does always listen to my concern and address issues with the pool. My rating is on the tech not repair or management of the company. That would be a one star
This is a lowsy company. They never answer the phone and when it comes to payment they don't know what they are doing. I've pay the bills and accounting is so incompetent they can't even find it.. horrible experience, glad to get rid of them.

In April I hired and signed a contract with Poolman to service my pool. My pool was crystal clear when I hired them and since 05/11/2020 my pool has been green. Today, 05/27/2020, it still looks like the picture attached. I'm shocked on how this situation is being handled with no sense of urgency and no remedy to the problem. Has anyone hired a lawyer to sue them for damages?
Pool man has serviced and managed my pool for over 15 years. I'm very happy with my weekly pool tech, Rolando and Chris is great on occasional repairs that are needed. I highly recommend Pool man.

Terrible in so many ways but our biggest complaint was with repairs - We had a leak to our pump for 8 months that they continued to ignore and delay fixing. I called countless times about it and every time (after getting through the painful extended recorded message) they would act like it was a new issue or make excuses or reschedule and reschedule and reschedule the repair tech visit. After months of this I asked to speak to a manager and they said one would call and they never did. That happened three times. Seriously worthless. And then the pool started turning green and the whole rigamarole started all over again. Felt so good the day we finally fired them and I deeply regret waiting so long. Hired a new company and both problems were fixed within a week.
Will Fuller is our technician and he's amazing. He always does an excellent job, communicates in a timely manner, provides advice for any issues that pop up, and is an overall amazing person. Highly recommended!

Worst service ever. Please look elsewhere.
I gave them a year of chances without complaining to my property management, The manager was nice and always sent a supervisor out to fix all her techs issues but never did nothing about the problem and The next week it would be the same problem all over again . The problem was all the techs are lazy we’re already halfway through the summer and my kids rarely got to swim because of their laziness. I hired another company for one week so they can test Chemicals right after pool man left and literally had zero chemicals in the pool and that was right after pool they left.
DISPICABLE. The fact that they will only respond to the 5 star comments tells you everything you need to know about this company. If you have a problem, its your problem. My property management company hired this sorry excuse for a company.
First visit, they tested the pool and the chlorine level was high so they took the chlorinator out of the pool. It was clear, clean water. Then didn't come back for a week. Surprise surprise a pool with no biocide turned green. When I asked them to come clean the pool they said they would not sign a service contract until everything had been fixed. That is code for 'we are going to charge you to have someone come by, walk past the dirty pool, and look for everything and anything to charge you for.'
I cleaned the pool, treated it and backwashed the filter a few times and got it back to clear.
In an 8 week period they sent someone out 6 times and never once was the pool cleaned, baskets cleaned or filter cleaned. They walked past my green pool 6 times and didn't have the decency to put a one dollar chlorine puck in the chlorinator.
THIS IS A PERDATORY COMPANY. Do yourself a favor and give your money to a different company.
I have 6 years experience in industrial water treatment. We all know that pool cleaning is the 'little leagues' of water treatment. I would be caring for the pool myself if this were not a rental.
POOLMAN - are you going to ignore me again? Answer for your unethical business practices. Answer for your immoral pretend service? Better yet, prove me right and give further validation to every one of these one star reviews.
Poolman has been great, they are helpful when I have questions which is quite often since I don't know anything about pools. They take great care of my pool.
Our Poolman has provided the best service we have ever experience. He is knowledgeable, professional and above all genuine. We look forward to him every week. Thank you!

Wil is terrific. I can always depend on him to fix things in my pool. He also knowS that I am away during the summer and he makes sure that everything is okay. He keeps an eye out for anything that is unusual and would let me know if necessary. I have enjoyed his work ethic and friendliness. He has cleaned my pool for many years. Thank you Wil!
My wife and me have used Poolman services for over 10 years. Since that time we have never seen a more professional, dedicated and enthusiastic group of managers and personnel so willing to quickly help us out with any problems that may arise with our pool or equipment. In all this time our pool has never, I mean never, turned green or been in a condition where we couldn't swim. We are on full service and never had an occasion wherein we did not receive excellent and quick service on any problems we had with our entire pool system. As a matter of fact, they go out of their way to ensure fast, courteous and prompt service. They maintain a staff of employees who are professionals with a Can do attitude, in their service and repairing any equipment problem quickly and efficiently. We will never leave Poolman for another pool company. Period!!
Wanted to charge me $315 to repair small leak between pump and filter My old pool guy came over and replaced a $5 o-ring. Pool was green 3 times this summer. Dropped service.
