Thank you for restoring my faith in Option One Plumbing.

I had my sewer line rooted, but this first try was not acceptable. The service person was only here for a short time. He ran the rooter into my line with only a single straight blade head. I did not feel like he went in very far.

I was concerned that the rooting had not done a good job of clearing my line, so I did a sewer line video to check its condition.

What a mess. There was soft wavy plants of some kind in much of the line. These plants were not hard to dislodge, just bumping them with the camera was enough to dislocate them. How is it possible that these easy to remove plants were in the line even after being rooted?

There was also some kind of crusty material lining much of the pipes. I was not able to dislocate it by bumping into it with the camera. Still, It looked like something that would have been cleared with a rooting. Why was it still there?

Just 26 feet into my line I found a major root blockage. The roots filled the whole pipe with the exception of a small space where some water could flow under them. I think it would have only been a matter of days before the small space would have clogged up and my line would again fail.

I could not get my camera past the roots, but I feared that the rest of the line was also in bad condition. How is it possible that my line was in such bad condition, considering it had just been rooted?

I called Option One Plumbing and requested that the rooting job be repeated. The same service person came out and this time the local owner was with him.

They re-rooted my line and this time used a good double head on the rooting machine. They spent over 3x longer than the first time and I felt much better about the job they did.

When they left, I did another video of my line. What a difference, all of the soft wavy plants were gone. All of the crusty material was gone. All (yes all) of the roots were gone. My pipes looked clean and polished. I can see there is no serious damage in my pipes that would limit or prevent a good rooting.

Thank you Option One Plumbing for the extra effort to make sure my line was cleared. My end result was a 5-star job, but I had to do much work, much negotiating, and I had to spend hundreds on a pipe video camera. Come on Option One, give your customers a 5-star job on the first try.

I still have a problem with my line. Option One Plumbing did a good job on their second try. But they were not able to reach to the end of the line. There is dirt in my pipe toward the end of the line. I'm not sure what to do about this, maybe a high-pressure water jetter or something like that.

Here is my suggestion to Option One Plumbing which should help prevent future bad experiences of this kind. Periodically require that all your service personnel do a before-and-after video of a line. That way they can see the result, judge, and improve the quality of their work.
