From my initial phone call to Briana, to Jack visiting our home to provide guidance and suggestions to care for our trees, to Carey for fertilizing, and to the AMAZING crew of Gustavo, Romero, Hector and the other gentlemen who completed the trimming and clean-up - WOW. 10 STARS. Added bonus - this all happened within 24 hours. Could not be happier with the service provided by Chip's Tree Service/Chip Off the Old Block. Safe to say - Customer for life!

I had my 5 Queen palm trees, 5 little palm trees, 2 big bushes in the back & my front yard elm tree trimmed today. They arrived on time at 8am & finished at 9:17am. They did an awful job cleaning up after the service, there was a 6ft palm frond on top of my hanging lights that I personally grabbed & walked out to them. This is clearly not enough time to efficiently trim & clean up the service. I had gathered a bunch of palm tree falling for them to take as they were already cleaning the palm trees, the guy laughed & said no. I had to call to complain about this. They sent the crew back to pick up the remaining pile. They were not happy about it. Here are some photos of my trees/ RIGHT AFTER the crew came. This is NOT a $1,000 service. I am not a happy customer & will not be using them again.

This was a big job and took several teams of people to complete it. Started with tree removal crew, using a large crane to take down at least a 30' mature tree with a base of about 3' in diameter. The tree was massive, and the crew did a fantastic job skillfully taking it down piece by piece. It took them about 3-4 hours and when they left you didn't even know they were here. The tree climber and crane operator strategically cut each piece and lowered them in tight surrounding without an issue. REAL PROs!

The second crew involved the stump removal/grinder team and skid steer operator, as their work was to remove the large remaining stump and 2' high mound covering about 16' square, bringing it down, level with the sidewalk. In addition, they had to remove the stump. This was a different team of workers and once again, when it was all done, you didn't know they had been here other than the evidence that the stump was gone! The crews were very professional and customer oriented.

I would highly recommend this company and would use them again. Oh wait, there is another team to recognize. The office team. Briana Grove and Yesenia Aguilar are the perfect example of customer service. Although I had issues with my phone, they made every effort in notifying me, keeping me up to date on status. We did experience a scheduling issue, but Yesenia was on it and jumped to make things right and work! You gotta love that type of customer service! I do and will remember this company and refer them to my friends, family, and anyone else that I learn of that needs this type of work. GREAT JOB you all!

For the record, Chips Tree Service did not pay me nor ask me to write this review, they are that GOOD!

About 2 months ago I called this business to schedule an Arborist (Anthony) to come out and see if my stressed tree could be saved, it was not hidden that the tree was seriously girdled around the trunk. He assured me the tree could be saved anyway, so he suggested trunk injections and ground soil fertilizer, at a total cost of $370.00. However, after reading up on how much of a chance girdled trees can survive, or even come back to a healthy status, even after these treatments is extremely minimal, close to zero %, if he was a certified arborist like the company website states he is, he should have known this already, and he should have just recommended to use the $370.00 only towards the tree removal and to not even to think about saving the tree, after all I am an adult, I am okay with handling the truth, and would have appreciated more his integrity and honesty, as a representative of this company. This experience has left a sour taste in my mouth, now I have to spend double this amount to have the dead tree removed. Going forward I will take my tree service business to other companies that believe in principles of truth, integrity, and honesty.

Five stars to Claudio and his crew, who did a great job - they arrived on time, cleaned up well, and were courteous. Claudio had to do some troubleshooting on our order, but he took care of it promptly and to my satisfaction. And Five Stars to Jack H., the arborist who quoted the job - he gives great advice and is always on-time. I wish could say the same about the front office staff! it took more than 3 phone calls to get a simple answer to a simple question about my order. I have been using Chip for over a decade, so overall, I'm satisfied with the service.

Great service, very professional and knowledgeable, and responsive. They trimmed three trees for us and treated two trees that have been ailing. They were also quick to return and resolve an issue - my husband wasn’t home during the trimming and I didn’t realize he wanted the branches that shaded his parking spot on the driveway removed. He called the company and they came out the next day. Jack, the arborist, as well as the guys who did the trimming and the one who treated the sick trees, were all very nice to deal with, patient and thorough in explaining what they were doing, and listened to our questions and concerns. We used the same company a few years ago to remove an enormous Aleppo pine and had a good experience then too. The price seemed reasonable and I appreciated that they came when they said they would.

My trimming needs were complex. There were a number of delicate items such as potted plants that could have been damaged during the trimming process. The crew worked rapidly and did not damage any of these items in the process. They trimmed only what I wanted to be trimmed and in the way that I wanted. I also noted that the members of the crew had great knowledge regarding the trees they worked on. I had some trees that do not appear in the typical yard. The crew appeared to recognize these. This was something special. When I need further trimming beyond what I feel comfortable doing myself I will hire this tree service again.

The crew arrived on time and listened to my concerns/questions before they started. They did a great job trimming & pruning my trees, but also did a thorough clean up before they left. Chips also did a complete tree & plant fertilization of my yard, and that too was very well done. I have used Chips in the past and will continue to use them in the future.

Humberto and the crew were timely, professional and thoughtful. The crew knew what the job was about and finished in timely fashion. Humberto was there to make sure I was pleased with the work, showing a friendly and courteous attitude. The whole crew worked as a team, so great job! Umberto and his crew came out to trim back and raise the canopy on my trees this morning. They did just what I wanted and they did it fast and professionally. But the best part was the cleanup after. It looked like they vacuumed my yard. Kudos to Umberto and his crew. I would highly recommend this company.

They're REALLY good at deceiving customers, pointing fingers at other employees, and ultimately pointing fingers at the customer. This is NOT a business you want to hire.

Miscommunication, empty promises, and lack of follow-through: I asked them to come out and finish the job, as in staking the trees they planted two weeks ago, and putting rocks back around the trees as they had been. (By the way, some of the rocks were stacked up around the tree beds when they removed them but quite a few of them were thrown into our basil plants. Nice.) I couldn't believe one of the responses to my pleas for them to just stake our new trees as they had said they would do (I had already replaced a lot of the rocks myself) was How about we stake your trees and instead of us charging you for that, you give us a good review?

How about you do the job as you had said you would and THEN I leave you a good review?

They were supposed to:
In the backyard, take the stumps from the dead trees out of the planters, replace them with new trees (that WE bought), trim the other trees in the yard, check the sprinklers, and then return the rocks to the planters. They said they would clean up the front yard of leaves but when asked if they could pull a couple of weeds, they said no, they're tree guys.

What they did:
Left little rocks and dirt clumps all through our lawn in back.
Took out the stumps, leaving quite a few dead roots in the planters.
Planted the two new trees and trimmed existing trees.
The guy who was supposed to check the sprinklers didn't come out for a few days afterward and that arrival was a guessing game. (He did finally show up.)
We were told the staking guy would come out in a day or two after that. A week later, nothing.
Denied promising the install of stakes, the return of the rocks, asked for a good review in return for them doing what they should of in the first place, and said my husband should of been the one calling them to handle the situation.
Also, before I called them and spoke to Mitchell, who asked for the good review, and then received a call from Mike, who started the conversation with a condescending tone, they hadn't charged us for the second half of the project. Once my call with Mike was over, they charged us immediately.

By the way, Mike was willing to throw Mitchell completely under the bus by firing him.

The only thing they did REALLY well: Played the blame game.

Needed to get the old backyard back in shape since I had family coming over for Easter or as my family calls it “La Coneja”. I hate dealing with trees I tell ya, me and tree trimming just don’t mix. Luckily after some research I saw Chips and liked their prices. I was pleasantly surprised at how good they are! Even had to change the time last minute with no hassle at all and a quick response. I wanted to be home so I could watch how it’s done but they were done so fast! These guys are definitely pros. I’ll definitely be using them again.

Today I had an old suffering tree removed and a New Lime Tree planted. This was scheduled by Victoria in a caring and timely manner ... and ... the work was performed by Carey and Ralph ... They all did great ... I am Very Satisfied with the final job.

Luis's Crew was Amazing-- they were fast , efficient, careful. They protected our property and were very good at communicating and listening to us. They were so fast and they left the place super clean. Big Shout out to this crew !!!! I would recommend them in a heartbeat -- If you use this service ask for Luis's Crew.

We have used Chips Tree Service for almost 10 years to maintain our citrus trees. They have removed a few old large trees as well as one of those really tall palm trees. They have pruned our citrus and saved a giant grapefruit tree that had a fungus disease. They have trimmed a large oleander hedge and will be doing it again soon! Luis and his team are always pleasant and cooperative and hardworking. They quickly do their job and clean up afterwards. I enjoy learning from them as well. Anthony is always so helpful in planning and discussing what needs to be done to keep our yard and trees healthy and happy.

We had chips come out to do total yard clean up, trimming, pruning of our almost half acre property and install new irrigation drip systems throughout. They also installed a fertilization tank to provide fertilizer to trees and bushes,everything looks amazing already, and it's only been one month. Christian helped us through the entire process and was very responsive and professional. Would highly recommend using chips.?

This company was recommended by a couple of neighbors in the Chandler area. Carey Cox was very professional, arrived promptly, treated the trees, and even gave me a few irrigation tips. Glad I used Chip Off the Old Block.

A little disappointed I called for a quote and explained where I lived and what I was looking for. The day they were supposed to visit for quote explained they don't service my area for less than a thousand dollars. Part of me was glad he didn't waste my time waiting on a visit, but would have been nice to see if I really needed that volume of work done.

Christien Expinoza visited our home for a sprinkler repair issue. He was extremely professional and knowledgeable. He was able to quickly troubleshoot our sprinkler system issue! He arrived exactly when he explained he would. Great guys and great service.

He checked on my tree, he showed me how to download hydrawise onto my telephone, he showed me some things on my telephone that I didn't know, he was very professional and very friendly. I had 5 large trees pruned thinned and shaped and they look great. Chips crew arrived on time and left my yard clean. I highly recommend them if you need any tree maintenance.

Very impressed with how quickly the were able to remove two trees and trim another! Literally took them 16 minutes for all that as well as cleaning up everything and making it look nice. Stump grinding was just as quick a few weeks later and it's like they were never there. Highly recommend!

Carey, the service provider was very personable & knowledgeable & worked hard the entire day to get the job done even though he had to install a back flow preventer which had not been on the list of items to be completed. I would definitely recommend Chips & will use them again if needed!

From the very first call from the arborist Anthony to assess and quote the job, to Briana who assisted with scheduling and payment to Moisis and the crew completing the job. Everything was done on time, efficiently and with excellent customer service. We had a cluster of palm trees right against our precious 100yr old pecan tree which we were very concerned about. Anthony and Moisis' team took very good care of the pecan and it is much happier now that it is not crowded. They also brought in a crane for a tall palm removal, which went off without a hitch. They also removed some debris which they had not created. At the end of the job, without me asking they took down some palm leaves which got stuck in a peach tree when removing the tall palm. I noticed it but had not mentioned it. Was grateful for their care and attention. Also appreciated the change for a final walk through and all was excellent. Anthony also drove about 30 extra minutes in the morning to greet the team onsite and make surer I was happy. During the day, one of the stumps was higher than I liked and they took it down immediately. Friendly, professional and high quality all the way.

Mitchell was very knowledgeable and offered us options. Crew arrived on time, completed job, and did great job of cleanup as well. We were completely satisfied and recommend Chips !

A tree in my yard fell on both of my cars. The price for the removal was so reasonable I decided to have pruning done on another tree in my yard. I have plans to re-use Chips Tree Service in the near future.

Contacted Chips Tree Service for a quote on removing oleanders. This was a big job as they stretched across the entire back of my property. Chris Espinoza came out. He provided us with a quote that was fair. Worked with Briana in the office with scheduling and payment. She was great with her follow-up which made the process go quickly.
Umberto and his crew were great. They worked well together and got the difficult job done. Cutting down them down, pulling out the roots and cleaning up the debris. They left my yard as it was minus the oleanders. Today a crew returned and ground out the remaining stumps. They also raked the yard in the area picking up any remaining debris.
Based on my experience I have contracted with Chips to have my trees trimmed before they leaf up. I am happy with the service provided. Have already recommended them to a good friend.

They did tree trimming and removal of a oleander bush. I was asked if I wanted roots removed for the bush. I declined because they said they would remove to ground level. I complained but the “arborist” didn’t offer any help. I won’t use them again.

Definitely recommend for all looking for services to be done. The estimator was on time, friendly and made the call to schedule on the spot which really made the difference as far as other companies I called for estimates. And I called the crew that did the tree pruning and removal magicians because they were extremely fast and efficient. Also they all were super friendly and communicative. They did an awesome job removing an 11 year old huge Palo Verde and did minimal damage to the existing water and lighting lines. They fixed any of the damage right away and the new Palm ? looks great!!

Anthony gave a free estimate of the work I wanted done on 3 trees on at my house. 1 palm tree removed then a mesquite and palo Verde tree trimmed. The price he gave was the price I was charged. I felt it was a good price even more so once the work was done. Umberto and his crew arrived 5 days later and provided quick, professional, safe, exactly what work was asked for and the cleanup was very good as well. Highly recommended

On time, efficient, great clean up. We had 2 massive Ficus trees trimmed way back and an AZ ash removed by Humberto and his crew. They did a great job. We also had a giant Sissou tree removed from our back yard. This necessitated the use of a crane from Marco Crane. Everybody was right on time. Claudio and his crew did great work, climbing and cutting and the Marco team was amazing with their precision and safety measures, my wife and I enjoyed watching both these teams working together immensely. Had a very positive experience with COTOB company from Jack Herndon who gave estimate to Brianna in the office, to the amazing crew that was sent out. Highly, highly recommend. The crew were prompt, efficient, extremely knowledgeable about what they were doing. I had one Mesquite tree removed and another overgrown Mesquite trimmed - amazing job!!!

From the very start with Anthony's recommendations & estimate, through to the very end with Ralph doing a fantastic job with the stump grinding, I could not be more happy with my experience with this company. Humberto and his team removed a very large tree quickly and professionally. Both Humberto and Ralph completed the work with absolutely no mess left behind. We purchased our home in September 2021. One of its features was a lush and beautiful back yard. Too lush. Too beautiful. Plus, when our water bill topped $300, we knew we had trouble. So we called a guy and had him come out and do some emergency repairs. That went well--we stopped the water flooding--but we needed a more permanent solution. That's where Chip Off the Old Block came in.

Anthony came out and assessed the health and arrangement of our yards, front and back. We agreed to add a fertilizer tank, repair irrigation line, trim back some trees (and to remove a couple) and replace some dying palms with cacti. Everything went well--every person who was supposed to show and do the work did show and did the work. Now, we're in good shape and looking at the next phase, as well as how to maintain things. Good stuff.

We had Umberto and his crew trim our huge Mesquite tree and another smaller one. They arrived on time and did a wonderful job without butchering the trees! Cleaned up nicely afterwards. Delightful people, we really enjoyed visiting with them.

The service was excellent from the very beginning phone call. Arborist Anthony came and gave us an estimate for huge tree removal including stump treatment and removal. We also got estimates on citrus tree pruning.The whole process was completed in a week. The crew arrived on the time noted and completed the whole job in two hours. The crew was very professional and extremely hard workers. The property was cleaned and now looks so much better after the service performed. The job will be finished when the stump will be ground in about two weeks. Highly pleased with a job well-done.

We have used Chip Off the Old Block for years. We have two very large, beautiful oak trees that this company trims and feeds. Jack Herndon, arborist, evaluated what needed to be trimmed and gave us the written estimate. We received a call from the office the next morning to set up the date/time for the crews to arrive. Today Humberto and his crew arrived on time, as always, and in one hour both trees were trimmed/cleaned out perfectly, all debris was removed and the yard and patios were cleared of every leaf and branch. Humberto did a 'walk around' with me to make sure everything was to our satisfaction and they were on their way. There is no dilly-dallying...these men work hard, are polite and do a great job. We would not have anyone else work on these trees. If you have a tree that you want taken care of properly by people who truly know what they are doing, Chip Off the Old Block is the place to call.

Saul and his partner were the finest gentlemen i have had at my home. They were patient with me. They explained things to me. They called the office about questions i had. They did not rush me. I am pleased with the business and they made a good choice hiring them.
I also appreciated the quick response of Chris to my numerous questions. Such a polite caring young man. Victoria was great too and all were caring of why the tree us so important to me.

I had a very large pine tree that needed to be removed in Tempe and I was every impressed with the crews from Chip Off The Old Block. We just had Chip Off the Old Block trim/prune two mesquite trees in our yard....WOW! We could not be happier with the work and the experience. Anthony came out and wrote up the estimate last week, the office followed up very quickly with the schedule, Umberto and crew came out today and did their wonderful job in half an hour! The trees look fabulous; we will not be using another tree service in the future.

Our experiences with Chip Off The Old Block have been the best. From securing a quote through job competition, this the process was easy and professional. Ralphy and Humberto (along with their crew) arrived right on time. They were efficient, did an excellent job trimming our Texas Ebonies, Palo Verde and Mesquite trees and left their work areas excellent condition. I highly recommend them!

Moses crew did an excellent job! They took care of the tree quickly and professionally and left the premises clean. They willingly accommodated a special request to cut up the trunk into several specifically-sized pieces. And they left the chips with a neighbor for composting. I have used this company on two previous occasions. I highly recommend them for tree trimming and removal.

Ralph finished the job by removing the stump. He did a great job! He took the stump down about 4 inches below grade. He cleaned up the yard and left everything ship shape. And he was very cordial and friendly. We were very pleased with the tree removal results.

Have used this company for a number of years to trim trees in the back yard. This year we also had to have one of our trees removed with the stump removal. Ralph and Cary did the stump removal as well as exposed roots. They did a fantastic job. You would never know a tree was ever there once they finished. Highly recommend this company.

We’re very happy with all aspects of Chip Off The Old Block's tree removal service. We had 3 - 45 year old, large pine trees (18-24 diameter) that were all leaning badly. Their quote was lower than other estimates we received, but they were completely professional, even providing a copy of their insurance coverage. Umberto and crew and crane arrived on time and worked efficiently. We appreciated that Jack (the arborist that provided the quote) also was there. A crane, a truck with a chipper, and another truck take up lots of space, but they were very courteous with neighbors and trash pickup. And, they were done and cleaned up(yard and street) in just 3-3.5 hours. Stump grinding was scheduled for the next day. They arrived on time and were done and cleaned up in short order. Not happy to lose our trees, but very happy that we chose Chip Off The Old Block to do the work.

Anthony responded to our inquiry to have 1 tree removed and 1 tree pruned. He gave us a price that we were more than happy with. We had him include a soil injection fertilizer for the remaining tree and stump removal of an old stump and the newly removed tree. This all happened within 5 days. Tree removed and pruned 1 day, soil injection 2 days later and the stump removal guys, Roberto & Ralph just left. I received a phone call the day before for each step to verify we were on the same page although everybody ended up showing up about 1 hour prior to when I was expecting them. They all got their business done quickly and I'm very pleased with the results. Thanks everybody for making the whole process easy and pleasant.

My folks had been looking a landscaping business for some time, when my mom called got an estimation and decided to book them. unfortunately, That did not happen. She got the run around about getting scheduled. She didn't understand why if this was a great company to use. Well to our surprise we received a call from Jennifer and she sent out tech right away(literally the next day 08/31!) She was so helpful, understanding and very very polite. If it wasn't for Jennifer calling us back to follow up we would have went in a different direction! Thanks to her we will definitely be using them again!!!!

I decided to try Chip Off the Old Block to trim 3 trees and to remove another. Jack came out to give me an estimate. He listened to what I wanted and spent time explaining everything and asking questions. He also
picked up on problems in my yard I didn’t know I had. It took a week for them to call back and schedule this
which was a little longer than I expected. They were on time and came out with 6 guys who were all personable and made suggestions and then got started. They continued to check with me regarding certain branches. I was surprised by their friendliness, not only the guy in charge, but everyone spoke to me. They were fast and verified with me that I was satisfied before they left. Sometimes I feel like I need to push for how I want my trees to be trimmed, but this was easy and I felt they respected what I wanted. Chip Off The Old Block has been caring for my trees for many years, and have always done an excellent job. Yesterday Umberto, Manuel and crew trimmed my palo verde, containing a large tree to a very small yard.They were prompt, courteous, professional and and did an excellent job including avoiding any damage to surrounding shrubbery. They know their stuff. This is the kind of service I have come to expect from Chip. I can't say enough about these guys!

I first used this company when the man that started it was still doing estimates. I estimate I have used them 4-5 times in the past. I really liked that they had Saturday appointments and pricing was fair. This year was an entirely different story. The guy showed up on time and told me that even their smallest job was a minimum of $800 due to my location (North Phoenix). I had a neighbor upset with the blossoms my Palo Verde was producing & I was having a pool party for a departing employee so the job was time sensitive and I told the estimator about it. We set an appointment for the following Saturday. About 2 hours after they were supposed to arrive they still had not shown up. I waited another few hours and found a voicemail indicating they were not coming at all.A crew member had a family emergency so they gave the rest of the crew the day off. In my line of work when someone cant work, someone else gets called in. NOT w/ Chip.! I took a look at the fine print on the estimate,& found my $400 deposit was not refundable under any circumstances. I wound up going with another company due to the time constraints and accepted I was not going to get my money back. That was until 3 weeks ago when they texted me to reschedule. I replied to the lady about my extreme disappointment that Chip had dropped the ball. I told her I had to get my trees trimmed and felt I could not count on them. That is when she told me she would refund my $400 and put the check in the mail. 10 days later, no check, I sent a text saying well?? I got a text response about 5 days later. apologizing that she has been away. Long story short I foolishly went down this path with them and got another text about a week later asking if I had received the check. Uh No. That was when I was told she would void the check and bring by to my home today. 4 o'clock was the agreed upon time. No call, no text with an explanation and a No Show. Do business with this company at your own risk! UPDATE: The Chip Off the Old Block employee did show up with a check the following morning.I have updated my one star rating to 3 Star. As another reviewer stated, customer service is lacking however they finally came thru for me & I appreciate it immensely,

I had become unhappy with my prior Arborist so I called Chip off the Old Block. My experience with them was great from the beginning to the end! Anthony came out to my home and walked my whole property with me. He listened to what I wanted and made recommendations along the way. He was professional and super friendly, (even great with my dog)! He explained everything they were going to do and why they were going to do it. His estimate was complete and very fair. I received a call from the office, the very next day, to schedule a time to have the work done. The crew showed up when they were scheduled to and got right to work. Humberto and Manuel did a great job! They went above and beyond my expectations! Our trees look great! They worked quickly, finishing within the time I had been told it would take. They cleaned up everything and made sure my yard looked even better than before they arrived. When my husband arrived home, he was blown away by how great everything looked. I can't say enough great things about this team! I am so glad I made the call!

4/26/21 Scheduling was an issue. No one called to confirm time frame. The crew came out and had to reschedule for the following day as they did not know they needed a ladder to do my palm tree. They showed up the following day and the ladder was broke. Humberto was the lead and was quick to come up with a solution. They completed the job and the trees look great. Humberto and Manuel with their crew cleaned everything up and my yard looks great. They even skimmed the debris from the palm tree out of my pool. The office needs to work on their customer service otherwise a great company. I'm still waiting for them to schedule my soil injections/treatment. Called yesterday and no one has returned my call yet.
5/17/21 Cary came out to do soil injectiions/treatments. Very professional, great guy. Di a wonderful job. Scheduling was still an issue called several times to get the appointment.

Moses' crew did an amazing job taking down a 40 ft elm in our backyard in a tight space between a shed, a new gazebo, and our home. Amazing safety and skill. Clean up was awesome too. Moses is the man!

I am not a frequent reviewer--I typically shy away from reviewing unless something is really special, or really awful. Lucky for us, this one is special. :) I just had a great experience with Chip off the Old Block. I called them because we have two HUGE eucalyptus trees that really needed some love. The arborist came out and was on time, friendly, VERY knowledgeable and gave me a reasonable quote. Within the week Romero and his crew had arrived early in the am, and swung into action. I have never seen better trimming/pruning. What a difference it makes when people know what they're doing! They even put upside down garbage cans on our blue glow agave in the walkway so they wouldn't get bruised by anything falling. Cleaned up beautifully and drove off leaving us happy. Two days later Cary came (the fertilizing technician), and injected feed for both trees. He even took the time to gather up and remove some extra debris that had shaken loose in the wind and fallen post-cut. What a great experience, plus the receptionist/scheduler Victoria was very kind and communicative. Five hearty stars and thank you!

I have been using these guys for years. They are the best. Moses' crew just left my house. They do a great job and clean-up completely!! The crews are always friendly as well. Jack and Conrad are also very knowledgeable when they come to do the estimates. I did not know about the new minimum, but my bill is always just bit over $400 anyway, due to the amount of work I get done each year. He has not raised his rates in a few years.

I really want to find a great tree trimming company that I can refer to family and clients. I thought I had when I read initial reviews of Chip Off the Old Block but unfortunately my experience having Chip Off the Old Block remove a Sissoo Tree, stump grind and trim 3 other trees was not so great. Mitch the sales person arrived on time and wrote up a quote. They were able to get cutting crew out within a couple days which was great. Problems started when they showed up 2 hours before they were supposed to be there and when I got back home(had to leave my appt), they started cutting on the wrong tree. I called Mitch to tell him and they at least trimmed the rest of the tree to balance it out and not charge me for their mistake. This of course could have been avoided if they showed up on time as I wanted to be there when they started to avoid issues like this. The office did try to call to let me know crew was going to be there early but I was at an appt with clients and could not pickup their call. So they proceeded to trim rest of trees and cut down large Sissoo tree in our backyard. Their tree trimming service was ok at best. The crew could only get so high in a couple of the trees so tops were not properly trimmed and then left a mess at my front and rear yard along with mess in alley behind our house. I have been picking up branches for weeks after they left. I did talk to Mitch after they left about the mess they left behind and his response was they clean up most of their debris but do leave some stuff behind. Funny that was never mentioned in the quote. They aslo broke one of our landscape lights which had to be replaced and that was a whole other issue getting their repair guy to come out. Crew then came back three weeks later for stump grinding and again showed up 2 hours before set appt. This was after I asked the office for them to show up on time so I could be there based on issues form initial visit. They did a decent job on grinding the stump down but left another mess that I had a to clean up. For the premium they charge for their services, they should provide better service. I certainly will not use them again and all I can say is you should watch them closely if you decide to hire them.

By far one of the best experiences we have had with tree trimming. Umberto and Manuel were unbelievably amazing! We have an enormous Mesquite tree in the backyard that has been in dire need of work. We recently had Humberto and his crew out to do our major trimming and pruning. This is at least the fourth time we have had Humberto do our work over the past years and he is by far the best at his business that I have ever encountered. He listens to everything we need done, asks questions if necessary and always impresses with the quality of his work. Had an old tree stump that needed to be ground out before installing some new sod. Called Chip Off The Old Block, as I have for over 20+ years now. Although we had a little miscommunication at the beginning, they responded quickly and did a great job! A special thanks to Frank, as he is a wizard at positioning the grinder - and kept a new tree safe from getting damaged. Happy with their work!

They were hired by my neighbor to trim a huge ficus tree that had branches hanging over my roof. Rafael (lead person) and the entire crew were very courteous, arrived on time, and did an excellent job of trimming the tree. Took time out during the process to ask how they were doing and if they needed to do things differently. They finished the job in less than 45 minutes and thoroughly cleaned up their work. I would highly recommend them.

We had Chip Off The Old Block come out to take care of our large ficus trees and a chilean mesquite that had a lot of dead branches on it. Umberto and Manuel (and their team) came and shaped the trees and made them look great. They were friendly and fast with their service. Would definitely recommend these guys to come out again! They made the trees look great and not scraggly like you see a lot of mesquite or palo verde trees around the valley.

Great tree service company. Arborist estimate was exactly what we paid. Ficus treated and trimmed as well as the citrus trees. Trimming only took over an hour including all the cleanup. Will use again and recommend to others in the neighborhood.

Humberto and his crew arrived @ 7:00 as scheduled. They immediately proceeded to cut down our large tree into sections and feed the sections into a grinder turning the tree into sawdust. The process took approximately 45 minutes. They cleaned up the yard and street and we're off to the next job. Humberto and his crew were professional and efficient. I strongly recommend their service for tree removal issues etc.

Absolutely would NOT recommend. Scheduled a small palm tree removal with Anthony and put a 50% deposit down but it was impossible to get ahold of the lady (Cynthia?) in the office responsible of scheduling the job. I received a VM telling me they would arrive Fri Aug 20 but they couldn't give me a time. I called back to reschedule and talked to Cindy. Cindy advised me that Cynthia was not in the office but she would call me back. Never heard back from anyone and apparently they sent a crew out on Monday Aug 23 while I was not home. The crew never called before coming over and just let themselves into my back yard to cut the tree down. I have a boat I wanted to move out of the way and two dogs I would have liked to secure. The tree was cut down but the roots were not, and still have not, been removed as per the contract. When the crew left my house they did secure my gate, luckily my dogs didn't get out. Overall Anthony and Cindy were very professional and helpful, but the lack of communication/professionalism throughout the rest of the company, in my experience, was legitimately the worst I've experienced in all my years as a home owner. I have yet again today reached out to the office in an attempt to get the job completed (even though management was supposed to call me today).. Very disappointed.

Had a giant pine tree that needed to be removed from the front lawn...Umberto and his crew made short work of it! The whole thing was gone and cleaned up in under three hours (excellent considering the size). They showed up ahead of schedule, and kept working until the job was complete. I’m very pleased. Name AKA Kilponen, we have used this service for many years!!! I don't think you are able to get a lower quote from any licensed professional tree service. The crew are friendly and hard working. The cleanup after branch removal is unbelievable! The branches over my roof were as huge as the trunk and I did not see how they could be removed without breaking tiles but with the aid of ropes, these men CLIMBED a barbed Mesquite, above the massive branch and carefully removed it. AMAZING!

Moses and his crew did a good job trimming my ironwood tree today and removing a dead queen palm. They were friendly and they were able to meet my expectation for the job. They clean up the yard afterward. I am happy with the job they did. The only thing to watch for is be sure the person writing up the estimate is to detail excatly what is to be done so there is no misunderstanding with the crew . Ralph did a great job at stump grinding the palm tree roots. He cleaned up the yard and surrounding area afterward.

Below was a year ago. This week Humberto’s team was at my house again for my annual pruning. I have a big yard with lots of bushes and trees, and a lot of general clean up was needed as well. They did a great job, and expertly pruned my palo verde. I have to also say, my arborist Anthony who came to review the project and prepare the quote was fantastic - knowledgeable, and he took the time to listen and make sure I was getting what I wanted, and needed. He even showed up the day of the job to make sure everything was clear for the crew. AND - the phone / office staff are quick, friendly, helpful.
The whole experience - it’s why I’ve been calling Chip Off the Old Block for years.

A year ago:
I had 40 year old, HUGE dead eucalyptus taken down, along with the pruning of a large mesquite, and some smaller trees. Romero’s team did the work. All the pruning was done very well and properly. Taking down the eucalyptus, which was very near my house and extended over my patio cover, was done carefully and safely. The 4 member team worked quickly and effectively and I was amazed how quickly they were done, including a thorough post-work clean up. They know what they are doing.

Jack was very professional and responsive from estimate, through the entire process. The crew was very friendly and accommodating of my request during the trimming. They were amazingly fast with excellent results. I will absolutely be calling on them in the future. Nice work guys!

Chip Off The Old Block helped us make the decision to remove a diseased Palo Verde tree, and they will help plant a new tree in it’s place. Moses & his crew did a great job with removing one tree and pruning several others. They worked hard & then cleaned up well at the end. We also paid to have soil injections to help our other trees be healthier. We realized that we need to invest more in taking care of our beloved trees!

Everything about our experience was absolutely fantastic! We called for a quote and received one the next day, trees were removed and another one trimmed on day two and on day three stumps were ground. Communication, scheduling was simple and clear and everyone who came to our property was polite, friendly, quick and made sure we were happy with the work. When they left the site everything was clean.

I have a large pine tree in my back yard. I also have a neighbor with a pool that the pine needles fall into after strong winds. It was time for some routine maintenance on the tree and I also wanted to help my neighbor if possible. The timeframe for the job was quick. From my initial call, consultation, and completion of the work, it took six days. Conrad was kind and gave a thorough consultation. I didn't feel rushed and he was available when I called with a followup question which he quickly clarified for me. On the day of the job Luis's crew arrived early and did a great job. Courteous, kind, accommodating, and communicated what they were planning to make sure we were on the same page. We agreed that they would take off as much as they could without risk to the health of the tree. I especially pointed out that I was trying to help my neighbor but my first priority was a healthy tree. They did the job quickly and cleaned up my property, as well as my neighbors'. Now for the cherry on top. Giovani was handling the clean up of the property of the neighbor I mentioned earlier. This neighbor asked that the crew remove more of the tree than I agreed upon. When Giovani said he couldn't do anything that wasn't authorized by the customer, the neighbor suggested that he do it anyway and just say it was a misunderstanding. Giovani respectfully declined and finished the job. He let me know what had transpired which I appreciated so that I know what kind of neighbor I'm dealing with. Not only did these gentlemen do a great job on the tree but they had my back! I am so grateful.

Ralphie and Saul came out came out and did a great job for us right after Christmas. Both were professional, friendly and very efficient. I will definitely call Chip Off the Old Block again for tree and landscaping needs.

Both the tree trimming crew and tree stump grinding crew were very professional, responsive and friendly. They worked quickly and efficiently. The tree stump grinders Jose and Rolando went above and beyond in doing some extra clearing around a couple of the stumps.

We had them out to give us an estimate to trim our 3 trees, two large ficus and an overgrown mandarin, that we far past due for pruning and were hanging over our shed. We received a reasonable estimate and the office coordinated appointment for the work quickly. Moises and his crew came today and they were so professional, they did a beautiful job on our trees and the cleanup was above and beyond. I asked if they could leave me some of the grounds for mulch and they brought it in and put it where I needed it. We will definitely be using them in the future. Thank you!!!

Ralph was awesome. Very friendly and knew what needed to be done. He ground the stmp and planted the new tree in just a few hours. He was also very conscientious about my dogs. He made sure I knew the gate was opened whenever he needed to talk. He kept me informed of what he did and was going to do throughout the entire process.

I hired Chip Off The Old Block to remove 2 mature trees damaged in the Hurricane Norbert rainstorm.
I called on a Thursday, they came and gave me an estimate on Friday and they did the work on Saturday. Fast, efficient, courteous. Both tree crowns were overhanging my roof. They did precision removals and the stump grinding was completed the same day! I have mature Organ Pipe cactus right in the work zone and nothing was harmed. They remove all debris and clean up the area with yard blowers. Good advice from their estimator. He is an arborist and knows his trees. We spent time evaluating each individually. He advised me to keep a third tree and even included a crown pruning of it (free) in my already fair price. Excellent work. I definitely recommend.

We have two mature Palo Verde trees, one mature mesquite and one very large Pineapple Palm that sorely needed trimming and thinning. We also had the trees power fertilized.

First, Carey came and shot liquid fertilizer into the ground all around the Palo Verdes and the Mesquite. He was very professional, knowledgeable and cordial, explained what he was doing and why.

A short time later Romero & his crew of four arrived with a large truck pulling a wood chipper, chain saws, brooms, rakes, blowers, hand saws, ladders & limb cutters and got to work immediately. All knew their job and worked in conjunction with each other.

We are tree lovers and were fearful that they might somehow ruin our beautiful trees. However, they did a fantastic job, cleaned up after themselves and were gone in about an hour and a half. These guys REALLY know their stuff!

My husband and I were very satisfied with chip off the old block and there amazing team behind the scenes with scheduling the estimate with Victoria who is also the gal who went the extra mile to help me with my bill as well as Cecilia who was very prompt in scheduling my tree removal . I could not believe the talent these men had Humberto and his men had taking down my very large elm in my front yard they made sure I was satisfied with the results !
With that being said I will definitely be spreading the word to my family and friends !

I never write reviews but this time I just had to. I had 4 very tall (60+ft) palm trees that were in impossibly tight quarters, less than 1 foot away from stucco walls and leaning over into 3 neighbors yards. AND, they had to be removed through the house since there was no outside access to the back yard. In addition, all the pieces had to be roped down into a very small area. The crew did the most amazing job we'd ever seen and thoroughly cleaned up our yard plus all 3 neighbors. Professional, safety conscious, fast, efficient, courteous and very highly skilled. We would not hesitate to recommend this very impressive group to anyone with a difficult tree removal. Awesome job!

First, they took time to thoroughly discuss what I wanted and what can be done to accomplish that goal! I am very new to the whole matured, citrus tree maintenance. So, education is critical. The trees look so much better! Thank you Moses Crew! I will request Moses Crew in the future!

I have used Chip Off The Old Block for 10 years. They have done jobs ranging from trimming one date palm to tree removal or trimming every tree and shrub in the yard. I have always then pleased with the quality of the work and found the pricing acceptable. Sadly, when their man arrived today to review the work I wanted done, he informed me there is now a $400 minimum. I sent him away, both of us having wasted our time. I had made it clear with the scheduler that I only wanted one date palm trimmed and she did not indicate any problem. Sad to be firing them after so many years, but I will be finding a company with no minimum.

I had a great experience with this company. I had an old old tree that was leaning over my roof removed. Found out that it was also rotting from the inside so it was a miracle it didn’t damage my roof when the storm came in. Also Ralphi was great. He was so polite and professional. Helped clean up the place properly. He removed the stump for me. He also sprayed the place for there were many roaches that were hiding deep under the tree. He was a blessing. God bless him.

Chip of the old Block came out 2 years ago and I paid for a tree consult. They were only interested in getting a big job, which I didn't have. I called them 3 weeks ago and they told me they had been sold. I had a 15% discount for tree trimming and they informed me their minimum was $2400. I was really disappointed and explained why. They did not get the job. I have hired another company to do the work and ironically paid extra for tree treatments because they were so outstanding. Customer service is very important & the new owners need to understand that especially in 2020 market

Tree and stump removal was done quickly. They made sure the yard was cleaned up before they left. Carey and Ralphie planted the new tree. They were a great team. I was very impressed with their professionalism and knowledge.

I have been using Chip Off the Old Block for several years but today's experience was beyond professional, courteous and conscientious. We had a large limb, high up on our pine tree that had broken and was hanging over quite a few other branches. Moses' crew was very careful in removing the limb so that it did not damage any of the branches below nor did it impact any other the other shrubs planted near the tree. I will request Moses' team for every service from here on out. They were great.

The chip off the old block crew was here today to trim my large mesquite and some is some other trees and did a nice job. They were very polite, cleaned up well, and I'm happy with the service we received.

Recently I had Moses and his crew come out to trim Two Queen, One Date, One Pineapple, and One Royal palm, as well as two Ficus trees. They team showed right on time and were both quick and professional. After they had finished, the team walked me through what they had trimmed as well as made sure I was happy with the cleanup. I would recommend them based on my experience and would hire this team again.

Today I had the pleasure of working with a young man named Nolan. My kumquat tree is ailing and needs attention. I was blown away with how professional, knowledgeable, courteous and respectful he is! Anthony (arborist) came out to give a free quote, and the following monday morning a crew came to thin the crown of our large mesquite tree, and also to remove a large, dying aleppo pine. Ralphie, George, and Carlos did a wonderful job. Efficient and professional without being rushed, and very easy to communicate with. They even let us keep the chipped mesquite material for our garden. Happy with the job, and the price was fair!

Moses (or Moises) and his crew did a great job. They were on time, completed the job as requested and were thorough in their work. They did a great job with clean up and I was very satisfied with the job they did.

If I was only reviewing the work they did, it would have gotten 5 stars.

However, they seem extremely disorganized. When I made an appointment for an estimate, they did not show and stated that the estimator's truck broke down. I could understand if that was the last issue, but it was not.

When they did come out the next weekend, we made a plan for them to come back the next Saturday morning. Saturday morning comes and goes, and I finally call and ask in the afternoon to ask what the issue was. Despite the copy of the quote showing Saturday morning, they scheduled it for Monday, which is an issue because I was not home. They did give a discount on the service at that point, which did make me feel better about the situation, however it did not end there.

When I finally worked out when they could come (the following Thursday), they called on Wednesday morning and stated they were about to start work. That caused more confusion because I had a crew working on a patio right under the tree they were cutting.

They actually did a great job on the tree itself, but when they dragged them out, they left scrape marks all down my garage wall despite ample room to not leave marks on the structure.

Thinking that my ordeal was finally over, I came home to find my compost waste trash container did not get collected from the street because Chip Off the Old Block had parked in front of it (I have pictures of it from my security system). When I called and asked if they could at least swing by and empty it out in one of their trucks (there was only lawn clippings in the receptacle) , they seem baffled and asked how I could blame them, despite acknowledging they blocked it. When they stated the manager would call me, he did not, and when I asked for his number, it went straight to voicemail and I received no response.

I will not be using them again. They did not arrive on the days they scheduled 3/4 times, did not seem to care about the condition of my property, or care about the fact they have inconvenienced me.

Fernando and the Luis crew were on time and completed the work we agreed upon. Fernando answered my questions about the health of a couple trees that we ended up having to cut down. I think he demonstrated that he knows what he's talking about. He was also accommodating when we requested that he be careful about a bird's nest in a tree. he was really customer-service-oriented. so good job everybody! I'll use you again. I think this was the third or fourth time.

Ralph, Claudio and Carlos trimmed a mature pecan and 2 elms trees today and did a stellar job. They, unlike other companies, were willing to climb high and thin the top part of the trees where the needed it most. The clean up and entire experience was professional. Limb from my neighbor's huge 20+ foot tall ficus tree ripped off in 1st monsoon storm. Luckily it landed in my yard, not on roof where it could have shattered solar panels. I would like to thank Humberto and his crew. They quickly and efficiently took down a tree that had died on my property. They also spotted some dead branches on another tree near it. For a nominal fee not only did they take those branches out for me but they also trimmed and shaped 4 Texas Sage bush that I have in the front yard that had overgrown the area they were planted in. I have been meaning to trim those but with the heavy schedule I have, it was proving difficult. Humberto and his crew took care of those quickly and made them look great. I got a very reasonable quote and quite less than another company to remove a couple tree stumps. They were able to do the job two days later. Showed up early than expected which was great. The two guys that showed up were very nice and professional. They did the job in a timely manner and cleaned up before they left. I would definitely call on them again and recommend them to anyone!!!

Since 2017 this reliable company has done all of the thinning, topping and trimming required for 3 eucalyptus and 3 live oak trees in my yard, as well as the trimming of our queen palms. In addition they have provided deep root feeding for same and for our citrus trees. Most recently, on May 26, 2020, John and his crew arrived in the early morning in order to top and thin 3 large eucalyptus trees, while at the same time protecting my and my neighbor's yards from the damage of falling limbs and foliage. They were done by mid-morning and their cleanup was thorough. This year, again, I appreciated this team of workers' professionalism and conscientiousness. They do very good work.

Last year they did a decent job skinning and pruning my palm. Said they'd be back each year to trim it up for $75. This year I call and the lady takes my info down, sends an estimator out and they tell me that they don't do jobs under $600. Poor communication and wasted my time. I'm small potatoes to them now. So much for keeping customers.

Luis Team did a great job. It was complicated as the tree service and APS had to show up at the same time to make the job work. APS turned up early and disconnected the power and Chip Off the Old Block showed up early (Luis' Team) and they knocked it out. They took the broken limbs off the power lines and thinned the canopy of other broken and dead branches. They cleaned up the yard and roof of the old stuff and took all the debris away. APS reconnected the power and we are now good. So, on time (early), got right to work, friendly, good communication. I have used them for for over 20 years. Thanks !

I've used this company for years but never again. Definitely don't recommend. At the beginning of the year I had to call several times over a period of weeks to get a job scheduled to trim my silk oak. They finally came out to take care of the tree this spring. when they were done the tree was butchered. It used to be a beautiful tree but it looked terrible. Whoever worked on the tree was not an arborist. The tree never recovered from what they did and is now dead and needs to be removed. I won't be paying them to remove the tree they killed, and I will never use them again.

Conrad came out initially and told me that he was the owner of the company. Felt confident with his analysis and told me that I would notice the difference in about a month after fertilization and trimming. Well, sure enough, the trimmed trees started dying. Called them and they sent someone out and said that he could treat thee trees, but no guarantee. If we wait until the weather gets cooler, they may have a better chance. Called again in October, and was told that Conrad no longer worked there, and that they could send an arborist to analyze the trees. Lost complete confidence with this company, and need to find a company that will remove the mess that they left me

I’ve used this company for over 10 years for all of my tree and yard services and I think they are the best in the Phoenix area, both in reasonable prices and expert services. Romero and crew just did major tree trimming on my large shade trees and they expertly avoided ANY damage to multiple fruit trees below. I highly recommend this company for all tree/yard services, both large and small jobs!

I live in Estrella Mountain in Goodyear. Two years ago we had a huge storm with 80mph winds. 70% of the trees in our neighborhood were blown over. I have 4 large trees in my front yard and I hardly lost a branch! Why? Because every two years they come out and professionally trim my trees. I have the biggest healthiest trees in our community and I owe a lot of the credit to Chip Off The Old Block. It started with a visit from Jack H., a certified Arborist analyzing what's best for my trees. This time he even discovered a Wood Boar problem in my Velvet Mesquite that needs treatment. Then Moses & Filipe arrived promptly to do the hard work. They did an incredible job!! In fact I watched in amazement how they do their craft!! If you care about your trees, COTOB is your tree company!

This company low balled an elderly gentleman that I am working with with for a tree removal. They required a 50% deposit and then came back and told him it would be over 40% more expensive. He declined their service and now for over a month they have been flaking him in returning his deposit. They have not been helpful until he threatened to call a news service. Very poor way to operate.

The service provided for tree removal and stump grinding was satisfactory beyond my belief. Both crews were fast and complete in a time so quick I couldn't realize it was all done.

I had a huge Mesquite tree that had a lot of dead branches and desperately needed trimming. It was overhanging the street and my roof.
The entire crew was very polite and explained everything they were going to do. The cleaned up the front yard entirely and even went on the roof to blow tree debris off. Would highly recommend.

I had a tall pine tree right next to my neighbor's property that was dying and had to come down. Tree trimmings was done well, but in the process a ground speaker was broke and the office staff and Ralph were excellent to work with and get the broken speaker replaced.

Manuel and Umberto's crew did a timely and very clean job removing both the broken and still standing tree removal after storm damage. Chip Off the Old Block came to estimate the same day I called and did the removal the next day. Stump also removed. Would never know there was a tree there.

I gave two stars because the people that did the tree trimming did a great job but the stump people offset that. The stump removal person was unexpectedly unavailable the day they were scheduled and needed to be rescheduled. He showed up unscheduled on a day I wasn’t home. I described several times where the stump was located and he removed the wrong one. That wouldn’t have been so bad except he pulled up one irrigation line, cut another one and cut through the brick border in front of the wrong one. I called and someone came out but didn’t have the equipment to do the jobs, said he’d be back in a couple of days and never came back. I am still picking up pieces of the bricks in my yard and 3 months later there’s been no communication or finishing that job. I’m very disappointed and further calls will be to another company.

I will never recommend Chip Off the Old Block to anyone and will never use there services again. I had an appt for an estimate on a Monday and no one showed up. Called the office and was advised they had an opening the Friday before and came out, however, no one was home. Of course not- that was not my scheduled appt. Thought I would give them a second chance. The day of my appt arrives- no one shows up. Called the office again and was advised they are on their way. Then I get a call from the guy who is supposed to show up and was advised he already drafted an estimate when he came out on the unscheduled appt. I was then advised he would schedule the tree trimming and fertilizing for 7:30 today- again no show. Called the office and was advised my appt was at 2pm. Are you kidding me! I cancelled all services, but suspect they will show up because they are so disorganized. What a waste of so much of my time.

Kerry did an excellent job at removing three trees in my backyard. He was quick, professional and clean. I would reccommend him to anyone I know! Will definitely use his services in the future.

Chip Off the Old Block does a fabulous job trimming my grapefruit tree. They know how to preserve a fruit tree. They are on time and clean up after themselves/. They come prepared to trim a large tall pine tree and you just have to tell the once and it is done.

I would love to give a 5 star review, however, as much as I don't think it is a company issue as much as it is an issue with the gentleman assigned to my service request. I had an appointment for July 13th for an estimate to have several trees prepared for monsoon season. With a window between 11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m, I received a call from the gentleman stating he was running an hour late which I was OK with. In the same conversation he said he would much rather put off my appointment until the next day which I told him I was leaving town that day for a week. We came up with an arrangement that he would call me sometime during the day July 15th and he would walk the property and discuss the estimate with me. I never received a call. Now it is the 21st and I still have heard nothing. I'm very disappointed however I have used the company several times. Not sure who to call now.

Ralphie and crew showed up on time and were working before I answered the door. Under an hour and the place looks great. Ofelia in the office was a pleasant charm. Always very happy with the service these guys give.

We had this company come out to check one of our trees. The person that came out did not address what was wrong with our tree, instead boasting about how he had so much experience in the industry. He left our property abruptly without helping us with our tree issue. Very disappointing as we have had this company come out before for tree trimming service.

They came out last spring and took care of a 25+ yr old mesquite in my front yard that the city of Phoenix was hounding me about. So I gave them another call 2 wks ago and last week they came and gave my mesquite the works treatment and it looks great! They also cleaned out 2 large piles of debris from my back yard. I initially was OK with the service that I received, but the followup and subsequent interactions has been less than stellar. In July 2016, I had COTOB remove a tree, grind the stump and trim a large fan palm tree. The folks that showed up to do the job were fantastic and helpful, but the job was rushed and ended with quite a bit of palm debris in my pool along with a broken low voltage electrical line that went to my yard lights.

I followed up with the gentlemen that came out to do the estimate and he stated that they would send someone over to fix the electrical line. This never happened. I just kind of gave up.

Last week, I called to again ask about the electrical line repair and also to employ them to cut down another tree and grind the stump. The person that I spoke to in the office said they would send someone out on the upcoming Tuesday...never showed. Never received a call. Still hasn't come by to give me an estimate on the tree and fix the electrical line.

Disappointed because I wanted to like this company...but it is obvious that it is run poorly and needs a course correction.

Cutters showed up without any advanced phone call or notification of time they were going to be there.
Workmen were courteous, but broke a large ceramic pot and broke a limb off a newer orange tree. The area where the chipper was located was left a mess with wood chips everywhere. Will never use again.

I have called Victoria the person who answers the phone 4 times since September Monday 9th when an estimator went to my house to see what to charge me and to set up an appointment and she keeps saying she will get back to me and she doesn’t. She blamed it on the estimator and then she promised to call me right back and she didn’t. I have used them for years and trusted their work and really need my trees cut but apparently they don’t need the business.

Chip Off The Old Block did a great job on removing my palo verde tree in my back yard including some tree trimming work in my front yard. I would highly recommend them to anyone who needs to hire a friendly, affordable Phoenix tree service company in the valley.

Great prices. Be very clear if you want the stump ground down below level. That is just $150. Or if you want the stump removed (in my case to plant another tree in the same spot) it's a much more involved process. Cost is higher for removal.

I have used this company on and off for many years. Sadly, their attitude and customer service has just got worse. They came out and said they would get back to me on the bid proposal and after two calls to the office they called back because the secretary made them. The prices are out of line and the customer service means nothing.!!

I had a total irrigation system replaced, along with the trimming and pruning of two large trees. The installation team was good and most polite. I had a new controller installed which is WiFi enabled. Allen was outstanding in his knowledge of syncing my WiFi to the controller so it would both water and fertilize correctly. I also want to thank Briana, who scheduled my services. She always handled my phone calls with a smile in her voice.
