Update: the call center manager call and apologized for the confusion. Brandon came out, and he's awesome. He was able to determine that a new capacitor was necessary. Now the house is cooling.
I'm disappointed that I've had these problems with a new AC unit, and I'm disappointed that it took so long to get a tech out here, but the tech was amazing. I'm happy to have a house that's cooling down.
My AC unit was installed in October, and it’s broken today, the hottest day of the year. It’s 90+ degrees in my house. This is the 3rd time I’ve had to have them come out. 1st time was in November, and they hadn’t install it correctly, so the heat didn’t work. Next time was because the AC said “cooling,” but no cool air came out, and the compressor wasn’t running. By the time the tech came out it had started working on its own, and he said that he couldn’t do anything about it. This happened again twice. Finally, today, it happened again, but it hasn’t started back up. I called the Chas Roberts help line, and they said that they’d send out someone between 7 & midnight. It’s one thing to wait all day when the temps are reasonable, but at this point, it’s becoming a health issue.
Called a 24 hour hot line about my ac Unit being off for 2 days in 117 degrees, they schuelued an appointment in August!

Vague and not correct invoice. Technician doesn't bother to call 30min ahead, like they tell you on the phone. They make you wait on hold.

AWFUL customer service. Run capacitor went out within four months of their install, I called the customer service, told me to deal with it. I’m in absolute shock. Go with Parker & Sons or ANYONE other business in Arizona. Literally anyone else.

We are a family of 5. Our house is only 3yrs old and our upstairs unit has gone out 4 times. It went out this morning. Its 105° today and they said they can't come out till Sunday. Today is Wednesday. All of our neighbors have had issues with them as well.
Absolutely a terrible HVAC company to deal with. I purchased a new Fulton Home last year, and Chas Roberts did the install. We have had multiple issues with the system in this short period of time, they come out and claim to fix the problem, but then the same issue happens again. Last month our unit shut down and it took them 1 1/2 days to respond. The technician supposedly fixed the problem, then last week the same issue happened again. I was told it would take two days for service. I was irate, and asked for a supervisor to call me. No one ever called me. I had to hire another company to come out and get the unit running again. Last night another issue and it shut down. Many of my neighbors are having the same problem with this company, and now we are being told we can't get service until September, which is a week away. This company should lose their license and the Registrar of Contractors needs to shut them down. Sharing equal blame is Fulton Homes. Shame on them for hiring such a horrible HVAC contractor. They should have zero stars but Google required me to at least pick one star.
On a new build the brand new AC unit they installed required repairs after a few weeks. They sent a guy, he added freon, fine. One year after installation it stops working again. We call, this time the receptionist said they know it's an emergency but the soonest time they will come is in 3-4 days. A few days later the guy investigates, says the compressor is busted, and he won't even order the part until we give them $1800. Their warranty apparently doesn't cover parts, even if they cause them to break, only labor to an extent. I'm pretty sure they just hike the price of the parts to offset the labor. If you are buying a unit that uses chas Roberts for AC, set aside an extra few thousand dollars because it's almost guaranteed that you will need it. I love my house, but I hate feeling like there is a ticking time bomb looming because of chas Roberts.

We had a problem with a newer install and called them told them it was a 106 degrees and their air conditioner quite.first they said they could come out until they said it was a year and half old they couldn’t come for a week.told them there was baby in house and they got more rude. Don’t ever hire them if you want honest results
Chase Roberts puts in a lot and installs a lot of air conditioning units they make service contracts with visa homes and other home builders but they don't want to take care of customers who are melting in their homes The air conditioning doesn't work they don't want to come out cuz they're making money installing not on warranty work I find that ridiculous their customer service in my opinion is worse than any I've ever dealt with if it was my choice I wouldn't deal with them now
This is by far the worst of the worst. If I could write a negative rating I would. This company needs to be shut down. Not only are the techs not trained they are so inconsistent with what goes on with their repair. They have been out to our home 8 times in the last 5 months and see about 10 different techs. Not one of them can fix the issue of the AC unit, coils freezing over. They will explain the work that they have done will fix the issue however when they leave the temps rise right back to where they were. The ONLY reason why they are being used is due to the warranty that is in place. We call to schedule another Service Call we have to re-explain the issue every time. Notes, notes, notes!! Either fold and go out of business or figure it out and train your techs!!

I recently moved into new build and called for service due to AC went out. Kenneth did an outstanding job. He explained what happened and was very professional and knowledgeable. He even followed up with me to make sure everything was okay
Thank you Kenneth for the great work!!
Avoid this company at all costs. All of the other A/C contractors in Arizona nicknamed this company “Chainsaw Roberts” for a good reason. If they are the installer that your new home builder uses, walk away and buy a home from someone else. I’ve had to come out of pocket thousands of dollars to remedy all of the issues that this company created on our installation.

They don't honor their commitments, they don't provide timely service, they are very unresponsive, and you can't trust what the employees tell you.
At first, we had good luck with them maintaining/fixing the main A/C under warranty from new home construction. However; June 11, 2021, my mini-split unit stopped working. They couldn't send someone out until the end of July. The technician said the compressor was bad, and he'd get back to me with a price. I waited a week and 1/2, and did my own search for the compressor, and finally called them since they didn't get back with me. They finally gave me a price for the part over 3 times what I could get it from from a number of reputable firms. I told him that's what I was going to do and he told me that was a good price and let them know when I got it. It took another week and 1/2 to get it here (now mid August), and I called to schedule. The earliest they had was Sept 27. There were several emails & text to confirm the appointment. On the day of the appointment, someone called and said they couldn't install the unit because they didn't buy it. I talked to several people, including a technician who was fine doing it, except he didn't know what to charge. I finally spoke with Ozzie Brixa, the supervisor who canceled the appointment, and said the original technician was no longer with them and the one that scheduled the appointment was new. He wouldn't honor the commitment those employees had made. The bottom line is that they strung me along through the heat of the Mesa AZ summer, I had to get the compressor myself, and after all this time I need to find someone else to install it.
I did something that seems so unlike me. The installers came to my house to replace one of my two 16-year-old central air units, and I sent them home. They had come out with a 3-ton unit, with the price I had been quoted for a 3 1/2-ton. This was the last straw in a series of changed stories from Chas Roberts. And a 1-star review is also very unlike me--I try to look for the good. But the more I think about this the more convinced I am that I was being taken for a sap.
I tend to be a trusting guy, and I'm a little embarrassed to confess about how long they were able to string me along, but I'll spit it out here.
Here’s the story: They came out in September for a repair. We did the repair, but decided it was time to replace also, and they would let us apply the repair cost toward the replacement. So we called them back in November to measure for the install. That's when the inconsistencies started. Oh, it's the north unit that needs to be replaced, not the south unit. We must have had a miscommunication. I was skeptical. It was the south unit that wasn’t cooling adequately. He said that was because of the clogged filters, but it was the north unit that had the leak. OK, I let it go. Then we had an issue with the tonnage. The existing unit was 3-ton, I wanted a bigger unit because when we have a houseful of guests, the existing cooling hasn't been keeping up. They told me that going to a larger unit would require a $180 permit fee to Mesa. Even though that didn't make sense, I bought the story. Still, I told them no difference, I wanted the larger unit. Then he hemmed and hawed some and told me there was some technicality that in this case I wouldn’t need the permit. Anyway, my trusting nature was carrying me through until the installers arrived with the 3-ton unit. I asked why I was getting a 3-ton unit for the price I was quoted for the 3 ½-ton. Well, it had been sixty days and prices have gone up. Nope, cancel this install. I’m convinced at this point that all of the “miscommunications” were simply them trying to push me into a smaller unit for the same price. In calling other companies, they told me there was no “permit fee” from Mesa for upgrading the size of your air conditioner. I'm getting someone else to sell us the new AC, and I'm replacing the south unit, as that is the one that quit cooling in September.
I should add that Chas Roberts was the original installer when our home was built, and when the new contractor came to install our new unit, they discovered errors in the Chas Roberts install that were causing uneven cooling in our home, which they then fixed.
In fairness, I should add that in calling around for another estimate, it looks like they were giving me a really good price. Still, I'm not going to hire an AC contractor I don't trust.
I was so nervous about getting a new A/C unit after my 14 year old unit quit working.
I ultimately decided on a Lennox and $8,500 later I’m sweltering in a 88 degree house.
It was sold to me with the idea my bill would go down 30% in reality it’s gone up 30% because the unit is working so hard to cool.
The unit they put in was installed with no refrigeration so we had to have it filled, 8 days later it broke down again.
I am a widow and I’m so stressed out about this.
They said it needs a new coil
(This is a brand new unit)
the guys have been here for over 5 hours trying to replace the coil. My poor animals are panting so bad.
This should not be happening and I’m not happy at all.
If I could give no stars, I would have. My air conditioning unit was serviced by this company very recently. They told me that I needed a part, which I purchased for $200. After they installed the part, they told me it was the incorrect part. The capacitor I needed I was told would be $3000 for both the part and the installation. Upon receiving this news, I chose to get a second opinion. As it would turn out, the technician that installed the $200 part, did not hook it up correctly. Or at all as the wires were left loose and not plugged in, according to the second opinion technician. Due to this error, I had to pay an additional $70 for the second opinion technician to come and correct Chas Roberts' poor work. I am completely dissatisfied. This whole ordeal has left me traumatized and without air conditioning for much longer than was necessary. I urge you to strongly consider another company for your air conditioning needs.
This company is absolutely a joke. The AC they installed in my Lennar new home broke for the second time in a year. I will never want to deal with this company.

Came in. Did the job and left. What more can I say?
These guys are such crooks. The plumber wanted to charge me $140 a hour just to diagnose the issue when the the problem was just a closed valve. The crook charged me $100 to open a valve. Definitely do not recommend.

Chas Roberts installed our AC in our new home. After dealing with them for three years and having parts replaced and the system barely could keep my house below 80 in the summer, I called valley AC. They did a fantastic job and showed me how bad chas is as a company. I would safe yourself a lot of trouble in the end unless your planning on during them u will never get them to do anything. I paid 1300 to repair damage done by the techs and poor install of the unit that was 3 years old. What a joke. Call valley AC. Very professional and honest.

You have to pay $85 just for them to come out, then repairs and materials are separate, and they don't even have same day appointments. No thank you

This is the absolute WORST AC company on the planet. My home builder Taylor Morrison used them as their preferred AC vendor. Whoever made that decision at Taylor Morrison CLEARLY did not look on GOOGLE and see the horrible reviews on this company. The thermostat these guys put in is an ABSOLUTE JOKE. I purchased a NEST thermostat and noticed after I installed it there was a clicking noise so I tried to call these MORONS to ask if they have problems with NEST thermostats on their units the put in my house which are Lennox. They refused to answer my questions and said that I would have to PAY an $85 service call to have a technician come out. This COMPANY is horrible. NO customer service at all. I recommend FutureWAY Mechnical. Taylor Morrison please quit using Chas Roberts as your preferred vendor for AC work.
This company charged me $800 to “fix” my ac when they then realized it doesn’t work. Now it’s still not working. Absolute worst AC company on the planet

Poor service. They always try to fix the refrigerant, but come back every year saying it broke again.
