AUSTIN LOCK & SECURITY

I have known James Austin for over 25 years. I have used his services on my rental properties, referred him to my friends and used his talent on my private home as well. I have NEVER had a bad experience and he NEVER lacks the expertise needed to do his work. He has always been and will continue to be an upstanding locksmith with conscience--unlike others out there!!

I called a local wickenburg # and he said he was in Glendale but on his way back to wickenburg. $225 for a key sounds high. My mechanic said he just needed the cylinder turned one clock to remove the lock. There is a tool that does this and usually takes 2 min. If not he could just drill it out and replace it. It turns out after my mechanic called him Austin lock got verbally abusive. When I called Austin lock back I found out he isn't from wickenburg and he made up the story about coming back and was going to drive up here for the job. Austin lock said the lock cant be drilled and replaced due to fins in the steering column and I would need his service anyway. I am glad I didn't trust austin lock because my mechanic replaced the lock assembly for less than half of what austin lock wanted to make a key and it took only about 30 min. I would never call them again. I think they are a scam and they try to take advantage of an uneducated public. Too bad he ran into someone who knew enough not to fall for his tactics.

Great service and friendly! I called after losing a key to my safe and within hours had a new one. Saved me from such stress. Plus, this is a wonderful family-owned business with very friendly staff! I ended up chatting with the owner for a long while after my key was made. It's hard to find that kind of care, friendliness and service. Highly recommend!

This person is a flat out crook. Charged 125.00 and didn't fix the lock. I purchased a new on for 60.00.
