Don’t recommend this place, workers are rude and disrespectful towards my wife on the phone, can’t even wait 5-10 minutes running late due to no correct time showing up and no phone calls to tell you they’re coming. Wouldn’t even rate this place 1 star probably 0, wasted my time and money just to show up n leave

Never even got the service asked for. First they called my husband to change the appointment time to earlier than the 2-4 window originally quoted. Then as soon as it hit 2 pm knocked on the door and quickly left before I could answer the door... I'm very pregnant so I move a little slow. Sounds to me like someone wanted an early Friday. I called company at 2:14 to ask them to return and never received a call back until 4 pm saying it was our fault, they won't come back and that we owed them the 75.00 simply for showing up. They never even called to say they were here before leaving and just assumed we were not home. Called to speak with manager and was completely blown off. The customer service from this company is horrible. We will never use them again or recommend them.

Assigned to me via my Home Warranty Company (American Home Shield). Missed a call from them so I called back and was told someone would be calling me shortly. I simply began asking what time I could expect a call due to a higher priority leak happening. The gentleman rudely hung up on me mid-sentence. I called back to see why I was hung up on and his assistant took the call explaining he was busy. Cowardly and unprofessional to say the least.

I had to call HSA for a shut off valve replacement and Carl's is the place they are using. While I was waiting to hear from them to set up the appointment I decided to just call directly to Carl's since I was already home from work. I set up the appointment, the receptionist was cool and I was good to go however I started reading the reviews here and panicked. They came out a few hours later and said my warranty should cover it but that they wouldn't call HSA right away for authorization because the wait time was so long they would wait till later. Having read these reviews I of course went into super panic mode and called HSA who offered to put me directly to the work authorization line. Carl's was legit in the wait time- after ONE HOUR AND THIRTY minutes on hold with HSA, I finally got an agent who called the service tech and they did what they needed to do and work was authorized. I was told to hang tight and Carl's would set up an appointment. I didn't hear from them yesterday and then didn't hear anything right away this morning so again I was stressed out due to these reviews so I just went to Carl's website and sent an email asking if they could please call me to set up an appointment. They called like 10 minutes later and were out here in two hours. The work took an hour (I was so worried it was going to turn into a huge ordeal) and boom- we are done. Crisis averted. I am happy with the service, Chris the technician was cool. He came in, got the job done, and I feel 100 percent better.

I don't normally write reviews but I was really concerned after reading so many bad reviews on here... the problem seems to maybe be the communication between HSA and Carl's. I can totally understand why they wouldn't want to sit on hold for that long when they could be out taking service calls. I don't mind having to be persistent, it's my house and I wanted to make sure this wasn't going to be a huge problem ... I also made sure to be pleasant with them. Sometimes just being cool with people gets things done a lot faster.

Carl's was assigned to me by my HSA home warranty to replace my ancient water heater. First tech that came and saw the old unit was very knowledgeable and said he was fairly certain my old water heater was from about 1978. He said he was also very sure that they would have to replace the whole until as trying to repair it would only cause more problems. After 5 minutes on the phone with the office, he confirmed this and got a request in with HSA for a new unit. It took about a week for them to get the new heater from HSA (arrived on a Friday), and a different tech came in to install it the following Monday. This tech was very fast and mostly clean as well. He cleaned up my basement stairs after the job was done but left a big pile of rusty muck on my floor drain (which would have clogged it) that I had to clean up. I'm not sure where all the negative experiences are coming from, but i didn't have a problem with Carl's.

The plumber came over to my house insisting I could not as a homeowner, obtain the permit needed to get the hot water heater installed and I would be charged $100 for the permit. He told me it was a state law and being a duplex I could not, as a citizen obtain the permit. So while he installed the hot water heater I called the City Hall and discovered his story was a lie, and the permit cost is $40.THE TRUTH IS: You DO need a permit for installing a gas hot water heater, however you as the homeowner can go to the city's website and print your own copy, or pick it up the day-of or day-before the install. The plumber simply fills-out their section and you can MAIL IT back to the city hall with your $40 check. When I confronted Carl over the phone he quickly back peddled and then said I needed to get the permit that day! And MUST have the pumber sign it BEFORE he finished the job. YET another lie. The clerk at City Hall said the only requirement was the plumber needed to fill-out their specific section - PERIOD. My home warranty company has now also been made aware of this Strong Arm SCAM.

This is not a professional plumbing company. I had them do some work through my home warranty company. They had to come back to repair gas leaks a second time because they don't have the proper equipment. If you need any kind of paperwork good luck. I've been trying for a month to get a receipt.

Horrible customer service. Recommend/assigned by American Home Shield and the technician tried to get an extra $125.00 from me to unclog my drain because he didn’t bring the correct equipment he needed to do the job. The service request was covered by my warranty so I don’t know why he thought I was going to just give him extra money😡😡😡😡 DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY EVER!!!

The plumber named Pat came to our house to fix a leaking pop-up assembly and drain pipe, as well as a loose shower head. Pat did a fantastic job... You could tell that he was an expert. He was on time, polite, and he was very efficient. If we need services again in the future, we are going to specifically request Pat, since he did such a great job. We couldn't be happier with our experience. 😁😁😁

Our sump pump quit on us at 3am on a Sunday. After contacting our home warranty company, I called Carl's to inform them of the issue since they were the ones dispatched to come out. I had issues with the home warranty process but Paul from Carl's quickly assisted in getting things rectified there. Within the hour, Paul was at my house. Some quick troubleshooting and he had a new sump pump installed and everything working as it should. Because of the amount of rain we had been receiving and with more on the way, he literally saved my basement from flooding. Paul was great to work with and I can't thank him enough for everything he did. Thank you Paul!

Not true to there words!!! Disappointed to the job done and the quality of parts they replaced to our garbage disposal. Our garbage disposal was replaced back on April of this year and it broke already. We were advised it has life time warranty but when you call and have them to come they will charge $55.00 for them to come and another $122.00 per hour. Terrible customer service! Not worthy calling. Wasted my time!!!!

I have been going to Carl's Plumbing for about 7 years now for any of my plumbing issues. I cannot imagine using any other company or service than them. They are always very quick to respond, and the service I have received has been 5 star+. Their professionalism and courtesy are second to none! Yesterday my water heater went out. I called Carl's plumbing, and within 5 hours of calling I had a new heater installed and was back to normal. That kind of service is almost extinct these days. If you need any plumbing service, I would highly recommend you call Carl's.

We called Carl's because of a blockage in the line flowing from our home. Carl's did partially clear it but said they were not able to clear it all. We paid them to return with their camera which they ran through the line and located the blockage under our basement floor. They said they would call us with the estimate to fix it as well as for a new toilet that we needed. After a week with no call I called them and asked for the estimate. I was told they didn't have it yet but would call back that day. Two weeks later I got fed up and called another plumber who was over the next day, gave me an estimate on the spot, came back a week later as promised and fixed the problems to our complete satisfaction. Tod date we still have no estimate from Carl's.

Bottom line: plumber charged $75, fixed nothing, probably broke the overflow mechanism, was hostile and dismissive.

Of course this would be a zero star review if possible. Carls Plumbing was sent to my home to work on three faucets by American Home Shield. I see that I am not the first to have this experience but
I neglected to look up the referred plumber before agreeing to the assignment by AHS. When I called the plumbing company directly to discuss the poor service, I told them I would be posting ANOTHER poor review here and on YELP. The person who answered stated that he didnt want to discuss the service with me and didnt care about the posts that I mentioned.

The plumber arrived and absolutely refused to even look at anything before I gave him my credit card to charge the $75 service fee. As soon as I gave him the card he started to explain that there was nothing wrong but then looked at the items and agreed that they were broken. The main thing was the Waste and Overflow system in a bathtub. He started to work on it while I was in another room and soon came to tell me that he couldn't fix it because it was too big a job and he had to get to other calls. He covered the overflow with a cap and said he was done. He would not look any further at the other items again because he had to get going because he was losing money. I managed to get him to put me on the phone with the authorization department at AHS and while I was on the phone he stood over me trying to tell me what to say to them, while continuing to repeat how much money he was losing while at my home and how he had to get going.

This company has no respect for home warranty clients. My experience with Carl's was an unpleasant weeklong saga that ultimately cost thousands and left me without working plumbing for days.

Remember -- you have the right to refuse the company your home warranty suggests. If they suggest Carl's, exercise your right to refuse, and choose another company.

If you want professional, good employees who know what they're doing, do not hire these people. My landlords house warranty used this company for our plumbing issues. They were rude, cancelled appointments without letting us know and left us without running water for over two weeks. Communication with their customers and amongst themselves was deplorable. I would have had better luck hiring a monkey with a wrench.

Carl’s plumbing came out to put in an air gap for a new dishwasher. They charged me $152.00 to tell me they could not fix it and would cost an additional $15 - 2000.00 to fix it. They are less than 2.5 miles away from me. The plumber that came out was nice enough but I felt the charge was excessive.

This was through my daughter's home warranty program. The warranty company had initially contracted with another business to replace her water heater but she kept playing phone tag with the guy for 2 1/2 days and finally asked the home warranty company if there was somebody else they used. They changed the work order to Carl's and within 20 minutes somebody had called to schedule the appointment. They came out the next day within the 2 hour window specified and got the work done. My husband was there to let Pat in since our daughter was at work. He said Pat was a hell of a nice guy and very thorough. Would definitely recommend!

I called my home warranty company American Home Warranty. I had the shower faucet leak and they sent Carl’s to my place. They changed the cartridge. Soon after the pipes started making this vibrating noise. They were sent again and they changed the cartridge again. The noise in the pipes still came after . They were sent the third time and this time he just diagnosed and left. I have to call the Home warranty company to find out the outcome and they said the cartridge is fine and they dont know where the noise is coming from!!! Really????

I was nervous about my home warranty company sending out Carl's Plumbing to repair a small leak because of all the negative reviews. But the guy that came out was super professional and got the job done quickly. There was something not covered by my home warranty and he took care of that also, and was cheaper than he originally thought.

AWFUL service, was assigned them by AHS warranty company. Agree 100% with other reviews. They are in business to collect the $75 service fee. Had a plumber look at the water heather that was not in the AHS network and said the gas valve needs to be replaced. This plumber didn't even take the time to remove the panel to make sure the gas burner ignited. If you get them assigned to you by AHS, call AHS and tell them you want a different plumbing service.

Called my home warranty company about a hot water heater that failed and needed to be fixed / replaced at 7:10am. They referred me to Carls and I got a call back from then by 8am, and scheduled me up for a tech to come out around noon. Their tech Pat showed up, found the heater had to be replaced, and had the new hot water heater installed and working by 2:30. Pat was very professional, personable, knowledgeable and completed the install quickly and correctly. Would definitely recommend Carl's and use them again in the future if needed.

My daughter needed her hot water heater replaced. He arrived promptly and started to replace it. Since it is an older house, there were other problems that became evident. He called my daughter to explain what else needed to be done, and came back the following week to complete the job. She is very satisfied with the result.
Everyone was so nice from the first phone call until the end. Very professional work. I would highly recommend.
Just a side note, they are located 45 minutes away and arrived promptly both times.

Fixed a clog in my high-rise condo. There was some question with the association regarding whose responsibility it would be, mine or the associations. The plumber not only came out and cleared the clog in a quick and thorough manor, but put the effort forward to tape off the rooter snake where the clog was, take it outside, unroll the rooter outside and measure off the depth of the clog so I could take the information back to the association.

Great work, prompt and timely service, and above-and-beyond effort!

This company was terrible to work with. It took them almost two months to fix two leaky faucets. I called the company repeatedly to find out a timeframe of when this would be fixed but constantly got the run around- I think I heard “I’ll have the technician Chris call you” 4 times with no follow through. It was an extremely frustrating experience. I would not hire them again nor would I recommend them.

Carl’s Plumbing was sent to us through our Home Warranty. The plumber was a young guy. He decided to try to carry a garbage bag full of water. He spilled all that water all over our kitchen floor and down the basement stairs. The water went through the floor to stain and damage the ceiling tiles of the floor below.
Carl’s will not return our phone calls. We have called multiple times and left multiple messages. A manager is never available and never returns the messages that are left.
We will be forced to hire an attorney to handle our concerns with Carls Plumbing. We have significant moisture in our kitchen floor which will most likely lead to mold.
We DO NOT recommend Carls Plumbing to anyone. We also have to report them to the BBB.

Carls's Plumbing did a great job! They were at my residence 2 separate times. All employees over the phone and at my home were professional, kind, and respectful. They installed my water heater, pulled out the old one, and also lined my chimney. I would recommend them to everyone! I had to schedule my chimney lining for after the snow melted, the only reason I had to schedule a second visit, which is understandable. Great job to all the employees at Carl's Plumbing!

We were also assigned Carl's plumbing by American Home Shield (AHS). After reading the reviews I asked AHS to provide a different option for a plumber, but sadly they were unable to. It's amazing that an insurance company would rely solely on one contractor to service all of the Milwaukee area, and even worse to use one with such a poor reputation. I allowed Carl's to come out and provide a quote. They submitted the quote to AHS and then I was informed that it would cost me 4x more than what AHS would cover. I asked for a detailed proposal to confirm the work that was being proposed covered the entire scope of the work that needed to be done. It's been over 2 weeks, I have called AHS 3x and Carl's plumbing at least 3x, and I still have not received the detailed proposal. Clearly, they were only interested in the $75.00. What a scam. I will make sure to tell anyone interested in plumbing work to avoid Carl's at all cost.

Went through this company through our home warranty , started out with a simple water heater pilot light would not stay lit, to having to replace whole unit. My family went without hot water on a daily basis for almost two months. Every day boiling water to take baths, Carl's could care less, the techs were rude and office person very unfriendly. HSA doing thier best to accomodate, but Carl's delayed returning calls to both us and HSA . At the end, HSA hired another contractor and found out that it was misdiagnosed twice by Carl's. Hot water heater is now finally working after a few hours of another company coming in to fix the problem, which should have been an easy fix 2 months ago. I will never use this company or would I ever recommend. If i could give negative stars I would

Who ever it was that showed up caused me to absolutely hate Carl, his company and HSA Home Warranty folks. I work third shift, so someone banging on my door at 3pm is like someone banging on a first shifter's door at 3am. When I answered, he bitched me out for taking so long to answer the door. He put a hole in my ceiling which I had to pay another company $650 to fix. He charged me $75 and said there was no leak, that the shower upstairs needed to be resealed. He left a complete mess which he said he would not clean. So between my $725 I spent on just that, I still have a broken garbage disposal, and a leak from the toilet during flushing that drips from the ceiling in the basement. If I call for these, I'm at an additional $150 just for the visits which would bring my total to $875, with nothing getting fixed aside from the hole in my ceiling, add in the cost of the home warranty and feel totally ripped off.

Save your home warranty money and when there's a plumbing issue, use it on some other company, Carl has enough bad reviews.

Carls plumbing have been assigned to fix our plumbing issues by our home warranty company for the past 6 or 7 years. Every plumbing job was done very well in a highly proficient manner. Today we had one of their staff named Tony to look into a sump pump issue. As the pump was tightly installed next to the dryer, we had to move the dryer so he can get to the pump, only to discover that the dryer vent pipe was worn out. He was so kind to help us fix the dryer issue even though this was not why we had him come over for. Thank you again Tony, we highly appreciate what you have done for us.

This company is absolutely horrible! Please take heed especially if you are African American. First of all they came on a date that I did not schedule then wanted to charge me an additional $100 dollars because I wasn’t home! Then when I complained and asked for the policy in writing they referred to me as “you people” when I spoke with American Homeshield they said this ridiculous company said that unless I apologized (for what I’m not sure) and paid $460 additional dollars “in cash”that they wouldn’t do the work. Here is where the total humiliation came in, I had gone without hot water for a month and was desperate to get it all over with, I called apologized for any misunderstandings and was told by Ryan that that wasn’t good enough that I was to come to West Allis and apologize in person to his entire staff. Really?! I told all of this to the insurance company but feel it was just their word against mine. I wonder what they had planned for me showing up in West Allis. HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE. BEWARE! Take the bad reviews seriously. UNPROFESSIONAL UNPROFESSIONAL UNPROFESSIONAL by the way I decided to take the pay out option and have someone else look at it and found out they were charging me 500 dollars more than I needed to pay! Had a home warranty, they had Carl's plumbing come out. When I talked to him on the phone he tried telling me I would have to pay for his overtime even though I had a home warranty, also said I would have to pay for any foriegn objects. I told the warranty company of his tactics and asked if I could have a different plumbing company come out which they denied. When the plumber got here it was the same guy I talked to on the phone, his name is Pat. He came by his self and put a pipe wrench on my access point in my basement and said he couldn't open it, then said he would have to contact my warranty company cause there would be a extra charge and needed to see if they would cover it. Comes back and says they won't and I would have to pay $150 extra. I told him to get the f. Out of here. Main Point is don't use Carl's plumbing or Pat from Carl's plumbing they are a scam. Hey pat Tuffy sewer and drain was able to loosen they nut with no extra charge. I hope the owner of Carl's plumbing sees this and takes action against Pat as other plumbing companys can do the job. This company was assigned by my home warranty insurance to fix a leaking toilet. They fixed the leak, but accidentally broke the toilet paper holder in the process. The plumber stated that he would talk to the owner about fixing it and get back to me, which didn't happen. I called numerous time and was told someone would call me back, and no one ever did. This happened in November 2022, never heard bak from them. They at least could have been honest and said they weren't going to fix it

Huge THANK YOU to Pat of Carl's Plumbing Services. Our issue was a leaking pipe. Request was made at 7:30 am, Pat arrived right on schedule, assessed and fixed the problem and was on his way in less than 2 hours. This company has helped us with several issues and bathroom updates in the past and have always done an exemplary job. Professional, prompt, and a job well done at a fair price.

I wish Google would allow me to give them zero stars! They have horrible customer services and very rude. I was told when I originally called that they would bring the water heater with them for the service call. I gave them the model and tank size so they could bring the correct size. They did not bring one with them and told me they would have to get it from HSA. Then they wanted to charge me $50 to dispose of it and another $105 for a permit that was only going to cost them $55 and a five minute drive from my house. After being told I could get the permit myself, they then refused to give me the required information once I was at the inspector’s office. They showed up even after being told I did not want to use their service. The plumber knew nothing about the cancelation or about needing a permit, so they were going to charge me for a permit that they did not get. The plumber who came to install was very understanding and polite but the office personnel did not seem to care when I said I would be calling HSA to get another provider or cash out. Due to the office personnel being rude and wasting my time, I will never use this company even if they paid me!

Absolutely unprofessional. Service man claimed he replaced my sump pump 6 months ago and now come to find out he lied and never replaced it. I guess I should have been watching him the entire time because now I've been scammed. It stopped working 6 months after he replaced it and my basement flooded as a result of the lie. They sent a different service man then the one six months ago and he even agreed both pumps looked too old to be 6 months old. Also, as others have said in their reviews, I requested paperwork on what was done on the service call and they will not provide anything.

The individual I worked with over the phone was rude, unorganized. When he asked where my leak was, I told him the kitchen sink, and he responded with 'put a bucket under it, will be there in four days.' After that experience I read some reviews and found that is pretty common, so called my Home Warranty Company to change vendors.

Carl's Plumbing was assigned to me through my home warranty, and I will be requesting that they do not send this company in the future. The person who came was unbelievably rude and unprofessional from the moment I opened the door, talking to me as if I knew nothing or I was a child. Based on one of the comments he made, I don't believe he would have been talking that way if he had been talking to my husband instead of me, a woman.

Assigned Carl's through HSA (my home warranty company) after being assigned another plumbing company who didn't clear drain blockages. The plumber came to our home promptly and was courteous. He was unable to initially clear the blockage, but returned the next business day with different equipment and successfully fixed our issue.

Called for emergency service and was quoted $188.00 per hour and $55. 00 truck fee. Technician arrived at 8Pm and finished at 9PM. The total bill came To $374. 00. Was charged for 1 1/2 hours and asked about charge and stated he had arrived at 8. Was told that they begin charging when they start driving, this was not told when calling for service and he should have charged for 2 hours because that was there minimum rate, again this was not told when calling for service. $30. 00 for materials not an issue and nice young man. I will not recommend and would wait until the next day if I ever needed any service.

I was assigned this company through my home warranty. The first time they came out and fixed a couple of the things we needed fixed. They did not fix the one problem though that was the main one (water line leaking under sink.) I called both Carl's plumbing and my home warranty back to get them back out to finish the job. We rescheduled another time, but I had to cancel the day before. I sent an email during business hours and called the office after I got out of work at 6:52 pm. Some guy from Carl's plumbing called me the morning of 8-18 and said I cannot reschedule. He was very rude and very uncooperative. The customer service was terrible and the work they do is not the greatest either. I am very displeased with this company and how they operate.

These guys are ripoffs. I wish AHS would dump them.
I called AHS for my water heater and they sent out Carl's plumbing. The tech told me the 40 gallon heater can not be fixed and it needs replacing. So a day later I received a call from AHS saying they will replace it with a 40 gallon heater and they will cover the heater and installation. They also said Carl's plumbing told them there should be some code upgrades which are not covered by AHS and I would have to pay for them. The total for the code as well as other necessary upgrades would be $770. So even though AHS is covering the 40 gallon heater and installation, I would still have to pay Carl's plumbing an extra $770 for the extra work they have to do. I said no and asked for a cash out option. AHS said they would pay me $700 if I find someone certified to do it.
So I picked up the phone and called 10 professional plumbers and all of them quoted me in the $850-$950 range for a 50 gallon heater including installation and whatever code upgrades needed. I had it done, and called the city to come out and inspect the work and it passed with flying colors.
So instead of a 40 gallon heater costing me $770 through Carl's pluming, a 50 gallon heater cost me $150 by not going with them.
Those scumbags want to milk you for every penny they can since you are covered through AHS thinking whatever they charge you would still sound cheap since you are getting a new one installed. If AHS ever sends Carl's plumbing for a service call and they tell you your item needs replacement, by default opt for a cash out and find a professional to do it for you and save your money. Either look for a plumber through Angie's list, google, or the phone book. Make sure you get a permit from your city so they can come inspect the work after they are done.

The only reason that I'm giving this company 1 star is because I can't give them zero stars. I requested expedited service on a Sunday, they did not call to confirm receipt of the request, but they accepted the job. Then when I called the next day to find out why they had not responded to my flooded basement, they said that they would not be able to respond to my home until Tuesday. The representative was rude to my wife on the phone, and we had to hire a separate company. Go to someone else!

Recently our Home Warranty Company referred us to Carl's Plumbing for a faucet replacement. Carl's promptly called us to set up an appointment. The tech arrived in the window provided and parts ordered. A few days later the faucet was replaced. The tech did a good job even though the old faucet was difficult to remove. Carl's did a good job, the warranty company however was a major challenge.

DO NOT USE CARL'S PLUMBING!!! I would question if their technicians are even certified or have any experience. From the reviews, looks like my sentiments are very similar to other people. The office can not follow up on any service information and the technicians have to call you back, but never do. Also, Carl himself is the most rude and does not care about customer service at all. He hung up on me and didn't care to do anything to help resolve my problems with the information passed to HSA for authorization. Save your $75 and pay a company that will actual fix the issue instead of wasting your time.

Our home warranty company assigned Carl's to replace our hot water heater. I looked them up and saw all these mixed reviews... figured we would give them a chance. I wish we hadn't. We've dealt with a lot of contractors and businesses in the industry while remodeling the house - Carl's was the least professional and most rude. They didn't seem to care about our business; the technician left out doors open when he came and went and left rust stains on our floors and stairs from the water that came out of the old hot water heater. They were not punctual and showed up outside of the time frames they quoted to us.

Being more polite and professional would have gotten them a better review. I will not work with them in the future and suggest if you're in the same boat that you ask the home warranty company for a different vendor.

Our water heater broke at 8pm and we submitted our information to our home warranty service and received a call from Carl's Plumbing by 8am the next morning and they arrived within an hour! When our home warranty service said they would order a new water heater to be delivered to Carl's Plumbing in 3 days, I was slightly frustrated. However, I was then told that the technician brought a new water heater with him and it could be installed right away. By 11:15 we had it installed and up and running. It was a great, highly appreciated and refreshing experience!

The lady I talked to in customer service was very polite. My number was given to the plumber like I asked so he could call me when he was on his way over. A BIG PLUS was they had a 11:00 to 1:00 time window available right away today. Literally 10 minutes, or maybe less, after the talk with customer service, I was called by the plumber and he told me he will be at my house in 20-25 minutes. Sure enough he got to my house in 25 minutes ON THE BUTTON. He got the job done and no other issues found. My shutt off valve that was shot in the basement is now fixed. I also give them 5 stars because everything worked out so perfectly with my wife expecting a piano student at noon. He got done in plenty of time. Thank you Carl's!!!!!

I have a home warranty and Carl's is always the first plumbing company to show up and they provide the worst service. So much so that I have requested that the home warranty block them from even being an option when I have a plumbing repair. This last encounter required them to come out and repair a shower faucet that they initially installed. The handle popped off and we couldn't turn the water on. They came out and put it back on and 2 days later it popped back off. They sent a different plumber out who told the tenant that it was stripped and he was going to have to order parts for the shower but in the meantime, he showed the tenant how to use some pliers to turn the water on and off and told him to do that until the parts come in. He then reported to the home warranty company that the faucet was stripped but not due to normal wear and tear so the home warranty refused to pay for the replacement of the faucet. This is the 3rd and final strike. Carl's is full of incompetent plumbers and I definitely do not recommend you use them for your plumbing needs. If zero stars was an option they would've definitely received it.

Carl's was assigned a sump pump repair job via my home warranty company. Within a few hours of submission they contacted me to setup an appointment and they were at my home the next week to repair it. The job itself was completed wiithin 45 minutes of their arrival where they determined the pump motor failed, installed a replacement and tested water discharge to show me it was functional again.

My water heater was leaking and Carl’s plumbing was the first contractor to come through my home warranty. I was very nervous at first I looked the reviews but I decided to give them a chance.

Carl’s Plumbing was out with a day or two or two and told me addiction to my hot water heater I needed to pay an additional $600 to have a liner put in to be up to code in my chimney. Thank god they did not have the parts or I would have paid the fee right there and then.

I then called my home warranty and advised them I would like a second opinion. Oh I had another plumber come out and told me I did not need the liner. They advised me Carl’s Plumbing has a reputation in Southeastern, Wisconsin and be a very unethical crooked plumbing company.

Please look at there Google Reviews, Yelp Reviews and Better Business Reviews. Please if your reading this do yourself a favor and go with any other plumber in the area.

My home warranty company assigned Carl’s plumbing to repair a leaking pipe in August 2022. They allowed this project to drag on for months with very little communication. The city needed to remove a tree to access the water cutoff, I was under the impression that they contacted the city. After months of not hearing anything, I was told I needed to call to get the access cleared. From there it continued to go downhill. They then told me that I had to pay $100 for them to come back out to complete the work because they had already been to my house. When I asked for the document that I agreed to pay for additional visits, they called my warranty company stating that they couldn’t complete the work because they didn’t have access. Even though I called them to tell them the City completed what they needed to. They are rude, unorganized and unprofessional crooks that take advantage of people. What took my new plumber less than a day to complete, Carl’s plumbing had me waiting 5 months. Do not deal with them, request a new company immediately if going through your home warranty company.

If I could rate less than one start I would. Had a plumber scheduled to come to my house and run a new gas line for a stove. 2 hours before they were supposed to show up I got a call saying they would be charging me $400 that WOULD NOT count towards the final bill just to send someone out. The original price quoted for sending a tech out was $100. Don't waste your time or money.

Absolutely awful! Would never use them. They were assigned to me by my home warranty company. They called quickly to find out the problems I was having and scheduled an appointment, They showed up on time, took my service call money, said they could not do any repairs, told me their paperwork did not list the problem correctly, and then left. I called back and spoke to the owner. He said it was the warranty company's problem not his. He then told me he would contact the warranty company and call me back. It's been three weeks and I've heard nothing. This doesn't surprise me based on the reviews. I contacted a different company, who fixed my problems, and explained to me Carl's is in the business of collecting warranty service call fees, and does little repair work. STAY AWAY

Chris was the plumber that came out to our house, and he did a fantastic job. A previous company had completely botched our gas line and turned the situation into a dangerous one where We Energies had to cut the gas off and we were without for 5 days. Carls came out in May because our sump pump was not running. Some “adjustments” were made to prevent the float from catching on the crock which were to have prevented it from not engaging in the future. After the same problem occurred 2 months later, I called to request paperwork detailing what had been done as all I received was a receipt for payment. Brian, the individual taking my call at Carl’s, refused to provide this even though it was authorized by the warranty company which I used. After calling the warranty company, they confirmed this information could have been shared directly with me. Their behavior is very telling...I would discourage you from considering this business as a viable option. I see now, I am clearly far from the only one who has concerns about the integrity of the business. Try someone else - I think you will find you are better off!

I was a little nervous to work with these guys after seeing the reviews. But overall not bad, got the new water heater installed. They let me know to change the wiring, and that I could hire an electrician, or if I felt comfortable, I could do it myself. I did it, saved me a good chunk of cash.

The plumbers were what I expected, you're handy man type, nothing negative to say there. Nice enough guys here to do their job.

The one downside I can say would be the additional fee for using a card to pay. I get it, they have to call in, but phone card readers would make it pretty easy. Maybe even cheaper.

Terrible customer service. Assigned by AHS, but I called back to change it. AHS was very good on their customer service end.
As for this Car's Plumbing I called them to set up a time and reminded them the day of the visit, I talked to non professional receptionist that said the time arrangement was ok.
The plumber showed up at his convenience early when I wasn't there. called back to get a rescheduled but didn't get any help from receptionist. Called AHS got another plumber.
Also the plumber demanded a credit card for payment and said there would be another charge to come back. I'm sending a letter to AHS about this unprofessional plumbers.

The actual plumbers who did the work and were very nice and quite professional. However, the company itself is shady. Why? Read on...

AHS customer beware! Carl's will charge you a $150 disposal fee (something the local Plumbing Inspector said is not normal). If your local trash service offers free bulk pick up, you don't have to pay them, but you do have to haul it to the curb yourself.

If your community requires a plumbing permit for hot water heaters (and most do), you can take it out yourself as a Homeowner Applicant and arrange the final yourself at a fraction of what Carl's will charge for the permit fee.

Also, Carl's refused to provide their WI Plumber's License Number unless I paid $50, which refused to pay! All AHS contractors MUST provide proof of license and insurance to AHS to be an AHS provider.

I’ve never had such a poor experience with a plumbing company. Unfortunately, my home warrant uses them and so I had no choice but to go through them twice- both with awful outcomes. The first time they misdiagnosed the issue. I had a different plumber come out who corrected their mistake. On the second occurrence they left within 5 minutes of arriving at the property even though I asked for a curtesy call when the technician would be on his way so I could know to be there to let them in. The office told me that I am to be at the property for 4 hours waiting for the plumber to let him in right away. They do not do currency calls to let you know they are on their way. Laughable. Also, the front desk people ignore phone calls for upwards of several hours so, don’t bother calling. Awful service. Go with someone else and spare yoyrself the trouble.

They give you a run around to get a permit until they take what they want off your credit card. I will update again after installation.
Update: They called to set appointment. 48 hours until install appointment. 8 days with no hot water is still too much, in my opinion.
We were assigned Carl's through our home warranty. Our water heater needs replacing. We did have to wait 1 day for hsa to approve the replacement. We've been without a water heater for 6 days. My husband called to follow up, he was told, they won't schedule an appointment until they have the water heater. We have 3 small children at home, and no hot water. With any other company,
we would have had it replaced same day, or next day. I understand they are busy, but they should have a pad in their schedule to allow for emergencies. We've also heard everything from, they have it stock, to it's in our warehouse. So, I'm not loving the lack of transparency. It's not like it's summer and I can throw my kids in the lake or pool to get them clean. Please consider any other plumber. -From a frustrated mom who needs hot water.

Had an issue with our tenant's water heater Thursday night, contacted our home warranty service Friday morning. We were assigned Carl's Plumbing for the job. After reading all the reviews on Google I became worried. We got a notification through our home warranty service a plumber would be out between 12pm-3pm. I had a very important commitment at 4pm and called Carl's Plumbing directly to see if they had anything early, they said they had an opening between 11am and 1pm so I was good with that. The plumber should up just after 1pm (which is reasonable since we pushed our scheduled time up). The Plumber took about 20 minutes to determine he could not fix the issue and would have to order parts and would not be able to complete the repair until about Monday or Tuesday. (Again this is reasonable since we were going into the weekend). Called on Monday to check for an update and we were told the parts had not arrived yet (Not everyone ships at the speed of Amazon...) again this is reasonable for me. Got the call Tuesday morning at 7:30am saying some one would be out between 8am-10am to complete the repair. The Plumber should up at 8am on the dot and the repair was completed within 30 minutes.

Most people are always willing to jump on a leave a bad review and not enough people leave good reviews when they received good service so I wanted to share my experience with Carl's Plumbing.

The last step will be waiting to see how we are billed from our home warranty service. Otherwise everything was done under realistic expectations and the job was completed. Everyone we talked to at Carl's Plumbing (receptionist and plumber) were polite, professional, and courteous.

I would have absolutely no issues using Carl's Plumbing again in the future.

Someone should investigate if these guys are actually even plumbers or if they just went to Home Depot, bought a snake, and set up shop. We had a sewage backup at our house that flooded the basement but after running a snake for a couple of minutes the Carl's guy determined that there wasn't actually a problem. Apparently, the sewer gnomes must have created this problem just to screw with us because we took the guy's word that the problem was resolved and later that day our basement was backed up again.
The next day we called an actual plumber (Anderson Plumbing on 97th and Greenfield) that came out and discovered that there was a huge blockage and took care of it. Oh, and they were courteous too, something Carl's was also a huge failure at.
Carl's customer service skills were just as terrible as their ability to do their job. They were overly defensive/ combative about their work and instead said that they, cannot guarantee that they could find the problem. I'd accept that answer if I asked them to cure cancer or solve world hunger, but for something like this? Perhaps their motto should be, Carl's Plumbing: We're not sure if we know how to do our jobs
DO NOT CALL CARL'S! WORST PLUMBERS EVER!!!
