Tried to give them my business to replace a garbage disposal and to fix a dripping/leaking shower valve at a rental house. Initially he just said straight out I don't trust you because I told him I am travelling and can't be reached while I am on the plane. Then I offered to provide credit card (so he would trust me) and he actually went to the house, with no notice of a time either to me or to the tenant. Last text I received from Tony was tenant didn't open the door! Find someone else....!!. If there would be a picture associated to unprofessionalism, I think it should be Tony's photo!

Very seldom do you meet a contractor who is punctual, honest, adept and willing to take the time and explain the situation and willing to share their knowledge. The knowledge he offered alone was worth the cost of service, and the price was more than reasonable.

He gave me options to choose from on how to move forward with the repairs and I did not at any point feel like he was forcing any costly or unnecessary solutions.. I called them when they were on vacation and still he took the time to inform me on the possible issues i was having with my ground water pump and water pressure coming from the kitchen sink. He seems to enjoy helping people even at the risk of loosing some business.

After he left my home, I replaced my faucet and everything works perfectly, no leaks and excellent water pressure!.. and the ground water pump is fully functional as well! Whatba great experience!! Call after we had a leak and it wouldnt stop. Was in the middle of moving and it HAD to be fixed before 5. We called and explained to Tony and he said I have an appointment, but let me see what I can do. 20 minutes later he arrived at the house. He fixed thw problem in.lime 35 minutes. Tony and his son came and replaced my hot water heater. Pointing out the last person who installed my last hot water heater had done a couple of things that didn't meet code. He installed new water heater and install other items that were wrong correctly without additional cost. Very honest and professional.

Exceptional A+++++! Tony spent a significant amount of time on the phone with me discussing my plumbing issue, requesting pictures he could review, and educating me on certain aspects of my system. He ended up recommending some options that would be more affordable but didn't involve his labor services. I really didn't believe companies like this still existed. We have done business with Tony on a couple of different occasions. We had called him nearly 4 yrs ago to help with a plumbing leak and recently needed more work done while renovating our kitchen.
Both times Tony was able to come within a day and the work was done within a couple days. He went out of his way late on a Friday afternoon to help us out working around other contractors we had in the home.

I called him because of a slow leak under the house, corroding pipes from some mystery problem and brackets that dropped pipes onto the a/c ducts. He fixed everything for under $700, educated on issues, and let us know tips for preventing rodents and snakes under the house.

This was my first time calling Tony and I was most impressed with his skill and his professional attitude. I had a leak in my hot water tank and needed help replacing it. A pretty regular issue for a plumber but it happened to be a wonderful sunny day in Virginia Beach and a Saturday to boot! I called Tony and he said he would be over to replace it in two hours. True to his word, he called in two hours to verify the address and was over soon after that. I was working on replacing a leaking washer supply valve that required me to shut off water to the house. In the process of closing the main water valve (the original flapper valve from when the house was built) to the house, I broke it. At this point, I was past my comfort level for DIY plumbing and gave Tony a call. He told me he'd call me back in an hour. In well under an hour, Tony gave me a call back and was at my house ten minutes later. He walked in, sized up the problem, and had my water valve fixed (with a new ball valve) in under an hour. On top of that, he took an extra twenty minutes to finish the repair on the washer supply lines, too!

Tony was friendly, easy to communicate with and, most importantly, a consummate professional. His workmanship was beautiful and he was very clear about his intent to return to fix ANY problems with his work. I don't expect I'll have any. Tony will be the only guy I call for any of my future Virginia Beach plumbing needs.

Thankfully, my water heater only needed a simple reset, but Tony kindly told me that if the same problem does happen again he’ll make another trip and only charge me for parts and labor minus the service call fee. He’s a very nice man, polite and friendly, even evaluated the current condition of my water heater and explained some maintenance aspects that I didn’t know how to do.

Also, I’m grateful to Tony for coming so quickly to my house (just 2 hours after we spoke on the phone!) and getting my hot water working again before evening. I have his card taped to my water heater and will definitely call him when it comes time to replace this unit — and I pray his expert predictions hold true, that I get at least another 2-3 years out of this one! :-)

Recently renovated our home with a local contracting business recommended by a neighbor. After a long 6 months of renovating a 1600 square foot home our master bath did not have hot water and lacked water pressure. Our contractor couldn't figure it out and wanted to install a booster pump that would cost us and additional $850. Frustrated and not wanting any additional work initiated by the contractor I decided to call Tony, after reading his reviews through Yelp. I explained to Tony our frustration and renovation situation and he was able to survey the situation the same day. 30 mins after talking to him over the phone he was at my residence. By the time I was able to leave work and arrive to the house he was already done. Within 15 minutes he was able to rectify my situation as well as assist my mother-in- law with her plumbing issues in her home downstairs. He explained and walked me through what he did and I was surprised that my contractor couldn't figure it out and wanted to charge me additional $$$ for something we didn't need. I highly recommend hiring Tony to fix your plumbing issues. He was patient, up-front and knowledgeable. He is a true professional and will be the only person I will contact for all future plumbing needs.

I last had Tony and Son come out around 10 year ago when his son (who was not on the job then) was only 7. Well, a few weeks ago I called Tony and Son again and it turned out to be the same thing as previously. He diagnosed my water heater problem, (without the threat of a service call charge if I didn't have him fix the problem) let me know what the cost would be and then got right to work. His total time from pulling in the driveway to shaking hands on his way out the door was less than an hour and a half and in that time he found my problem, repaired it, then welded in new lines to prevent it from happening again. He is a true artist in his trade. I felt like my problem was personal to him. And when I asked what happens if something goes wrong with this repair, I didn't get the standard taillight warranty (warranty is good until you see my taillights) answer. Without question, Tony and Son Plumbing, Inc. is my new plumber.

Tony came out to help us on a late Friday afternoon after another plumber we had called ended up flaking out. We had a leak due to a nail in a drain pipe (from a recent siding project) and he did all he could to cut as little as possible to find the hole. He was very logical in his decisions for where to cut which resulted in minimal holes in our walls. He found it Friday evening and came back first thing Monday morning and had the pipe fixed within an hour. I'm completely upset at this plumber! I can't believe that this company is rated 5 stars. We hired him a few days ago to fix our problem. Problem number one: We had a leak in our main water line. There was no digging required because we had already done so but we still got charged for digging, parts and labor. Problem number two: they left the entire work area dirty, they didn't pick up after themselves. I had to go and clean up a blanket and all the material they cut and did not use. At least clean up after yourselves!!! Third and biggest problem: due to this plumber's carelessness, now our entire house's main water line has dirt inside the pipes and all of our toilets and cold water lines are clogged with dirt. That's just wrong!!! We called and complained immediately after figuring out what the problem was with our water. We opened one of the faucets and a whole bunch of dirt poured out! Now our entire drinking water supply is ruined thanks to this company. They want to charge us $100 again to come back and fix the problem. Their excuse: it happens every time they do it!

Tony responded right away on the phone over a weekend to plan a visit to a rental property with a gas water heater issue. Once again the drain for my washer became clogged (third time ) It seems the pipe is old galvanized and needs to be replaced. I have five furry roommates that cause ALOT of hair!. We had a backup in our shower. I called Tony and he was able to give me a price right over the phone (great price compared to others I called) and was able to fit us in the same day. Called about a plumbing issue Saturday morning and he said they would come by on Monday. Told me to text him all the info and they would call about 45 minutes prior. Tony is a total professional. As a Master Plumber he knows his trade better than most of his peers. I had Tony out to install a new water heater. When I called, I told him what I wanted for a heater and he was able to give me all the stats along with the pros and cons of my decision. He was in my drive way at the exact time he said he would be there. Tony was finished in a very timely manner. Unlike many others who I have watched install water heaters, he realizes you do not have to wait for the tank to be completely emptied before cutting supply and feed lines. By the time the tank was emptied he was ready to remove and set the new water heater in place. Tony performed his job as efficiently as possible to ensure saving time and money to his customer. This is an extremely rare quality found today in any profession. After setting the water heater in place he checked to make sure that the drain valve and relief valve were unobstructed, because they were in a different location from the old heater. I highly recommend Tony. He looked at the shower diverter and 2 bathroom sink faucets. He took his time and found that the items did not need repair or replacement at this time. Tony also looked at my water heater and it too did not need replacement. I paid a nominal service charge and received piece of mind! I rarely write a review but this time I felt is was necessary. I called Tony on a Friday because a leak had developed in the crawl space of my house. It was about 4:30 so I knew I had to get some help before the weekend. I assume it was Tony that I spoke with and he told me he was tired and he was not going to do any more repairs this week and to call him and set up a time for Monday. I had already shut down the water for the house. I crawled under the house and found the leak and realized that I had better call him back and get on the list for Monday which I did. We had new plastic placed on the floor space about 8 months prior so the crawl space was clean but there were some areas of standing water from the leak. Some of these areas were 2-3 inches deep making it impossible to repair a pipe without having to get wet. Realizing I was not going to get Tony out there until Monday, I bought some tubing and hose clamps and crawled under to make a temporary repair on the leak. After doing this, I realized that there was another very small leak about 8 feet away from the first but in a much more accessible area and could probably be fixed while kneeling down. I did not attempt to fix the second leak but shut the water off for the weekend to await Tony's arrival on Monday. Tony did come to the house on Monday, gave my wife an estimation and then proceeded to crawl under the house and fix the leaks. He certainly had to get wet from the areas of standing water. After one hour of work, repeat, one hour of work , he presented a bill to my wife for 675.00. He said he was giving her a break as his original estimation was 725.00. He did have an assistant and he did use maybe $25 in tubing, attachments, etc and he did have to navigate 2-3 inches of water in certain areas and he did give my wife an estimation before the job was started. He also made 675. 00 for a hour of work. The fee, to me is beyond outrageous.
It is true that my wife accepted the estimation but she would have accepted about anything he said to get some running water. I called Tony to try to discuss this outrageous bill and he became very irate and hung up. My advise to anyone looking for a plumber who does not command 600/hr for his services, avoid this guy at all cost.

Replaced a busted gate valve that was the interior main water shut-off valve that was stuck partially opened. Showed up 20 minutes early, cut out the dry wall surrounding the valve and replaced the necessary pipe and fittings and installed a ball valve in it's place in under an hour.
Professional, responded quickly to phone call and text message and was courteous on the job site. Recommended for future work.

Great work! Tony came out to take a look at our refrigerator water valve, and did a wonderful job! He was able to stop by the day after I called him, and showed up on time. Our valve was in our crawl space and he recommended we replace the valve with something more stable. He discovered the old valve was actually rusted over, and offered us a reasonable solution. Throughout the process, he explained what needed to be done and if it would cost more, so we could make an informed decision. Pricing was reasonable, and we are very happy with his work! Last month Tony and Son re-piped sections of our upstairs plumbing where a crack had formed near the main stack. We had been plagued with upstairs plumbing issues for awhile that ruined a large section of our ceiling. Another plumber had come out to our house four times, but we kept having leaks. I had a big water emergency after a failed DIY attempt at replacing my tub faucets. First, we had one of the big companies come over to look at our water pressure problem. They did nothing but tell my fiance that it would be several hundred dollars to troubleshoot the problem. Tony and Son Plumbing, Inc. is the best. What you have is a small operator owned plumbing company that is affordable and responsive. The best part is that when you call the phone is answered by the Master Licensed Plumber himself. When they pull up to your home to do the job, it's the Master Licensed Plumber himself. He does it right the first time, because if he doesn't he has to come back for free. 99% of the time, when you call a plumber and they show up, what you have is an employee learning to be a plumber working under the license of the Master License Plumber for an hourly wage. Every time the trainee has to come back, he gets paid for it. With Tony, you get the Master Plumber doing the work himself. Tony admittedly is OCD, so anything less than perfect isn't good enough. Since my first time using Tony & Son I have never looked elsewhere!

Tony is a wonderful professional who went above and beyond with a major kitchen sink issue!

I used Tony & Son to repair my hot water heater. He charged $79.00 for his service call. When he returned to install the part he charged me another $245.00 for 1/2 labor a total of $328.00. I could not believe he charged $245.00 for half hour of labor. I called reputable plumbers in the area and they said his charges were excessive. He should have charged no more than $150-$160. I called Toney to discuss the charges and he became rude and defensive. He would not listen to me explain why I was calling, he just kept talking rudely to me and hung up on me...PLEASE do not use his service if you want to be treated with respect and not have to deal with price gauging to a senior citizen.

Tony had done some work for me several years ago. He had a winning personality, skilled in his craft and gets the job done to the satisfaction of the customer. I needed a plumber asap, due to a running toilet bill of over $1,000.00, in appeal now. Called tony, but it went to voicemail, so being in an anxious state I called another plumbing company (One Stop) and they came right out. The plumber was nice and said all was fixed after about an hour cost me $122 dollars, which I didn't mind paying as long as the toilet was fixed. The next day it was not running and I was happy, but on the 2nd day, it was running again. I was really upset. Their ad says they get it done the first time. I called them, went to answering machine, left message. Emailed them with the same message about the running toilet still running. I had a bad feeling then, about this company, went back and read some more reviews and found some other people with the same problem as mine, and they, too, had to call One Stop back to come and fix the still running toilet. It took two or three days to get anybody from One Stop to come out and when they did, they were charged another $116.00 to fix their still running toilet. I decided, no way was I going to pay any more money to this company. I finally got a hold of Tony, and he made it out today, which was Wednesday 9-17-14. He showed me why the toilet was running, advised me what needed to be changed and why. He went out of his way to explain things to me. He changed out the items that should have been changed out with the other plumber, and replaced with new up-to-date products. He fully tested all functions of the toilet to make sure everything was working properly. Within 30 minutes, he was done. All is quiet with my toilet now, and I'm sure, this time, it is fixed. Our Kitchen sink Backed up at dinned and i tried all the normal things liquid drain openers and snake nothing worked. I called Tony & Son Plumbing after four other plumbers who started at 400.00 and up. Tony gave me a very fare quote and a time he would be at my home. He called when he was on his way to my home and arrived on time. He had the drain cleared in 30 to 45 minutes all the way to the main line. and gave a guarantee as well. I called Tony after dealing with another company who told me I needed cut out a structural support beam in my attic, just to facilitate installing a new water heater. These days it is tough to find someone you can trust and someone who won't over-charge you in any way they can, but I'm happy to say that Tony is an honest man and did a fantastic job fixing a leak I had. The leak was located in a tough spot and he still managed to not only fix the leak, but improve the entire set-up of that section of the pipes so that I wouldn't experience any issues with that part of the pipes again. If you need a reliable, knowledgeable and fair priced plumber this is who to go to. We called Tony for a slab leak moving into our new house and he came out that day to inspect. He returned once the slab demo was done 3 days later and repaired the leaking pipe. We blindsided him with a shower faucet leak in an old tub and he gladly replaced the gaskets and fixed it as well.

Badly clogged drain that couldn’t be fixed without a plumber. He was able to finally clear the drain without tearing out the pipes, even though he has prepared us for the more expensive repair. He was honest and did an excellent job on giving an accurate quote Tony was way ahead of schedule too.

Gentlemen and a scholar; let me elaborate. My hot water heater went out so when he came in I explained what had happened, he immediately knew the problem. Wires shorted out inside the tank itself. Instead of sayin in I needed a new hot water heater he fixed it himself saving me probably around $600. Then when it was time to pay, I tried to tip him and refused saying it was about the customers, not the money. I highly reccomend him.

My husband and I have been having an issue with a severely clogged hallway bathtub. The first plumber we called was completely overpriced and would not give us a for sure answer on if they would be able to unclog our bath drain. We told him the situation with the bathtub drain and he gave us a great price at which he would fix it, and was confident that he would fix it. He was also very flexible with our work hours. Tony was responsive and came promptly the next day when he said he would. Totally professional, he diagnosed the issue with my downstairs shower not producing hot water and gave me his best recommendation for the leak in the upstairs one. I went with having him fix downstairs and attempt the 50/50 chance of success option upstairs. Replaced the cheap and poorly installed valve with quality product and quality work. Will definitely call him back to fix the upstairs shower.

Morning of, Tony shows up ON TIME and takes a look at the issue and gets to work RIGHT AWAY! UPDATE: Tony just recently replaced my water heater. He is the ONLY person I would trust that the installation was correct and that the connections were 100 percent safe. (My original water heater, not so much installed well OR safe.)

Tony was timely, courteous, and professional! Confirmed the leak and diagnosed the remedies same day. Was able to come out and repair very quickly! Definitely have Tony & Sons listed as my prime plumber from now on!

Timely, reliable, and straightforward

I called Tony to install a new kitchen faucet so this was not an emergency repair. However, he called me back promptly and told me when he would be available which was fine with me. He came when he said he would and had the faucet installed in no time, even though it did not come with all the parts needed to make the sink area complete. Tony is friendly, tells you what he is doing while he is doing it, and doesn't charge exorbitant fees. I have called him a couple times and would not hesitate to call him again.
