Francisco and Zach were great! The work was done quickly and with care and the install of conduit around the back of my house was expertly done and looks great. The charger install in my garage also looks awesome and they made sure that all my questions were answered and that I was happy before they left.Really, I was just blown away by how cheerful and happy they both were even with the looming threat of rain on the install day.

Had some issues with my first install but Smart Charge was very quick to offer help and properly fix everything!First 2 pictures show work from the 1st service and the next 2 show work from the 2nd service.I requested a quote to install a tesla wall charger and flush mount indoor sub panel in my garage since my main panel was full. Scott from sales was great to work with on quoting and scheduling my first service.Unfortunately, the first electrician Zach did not meet half of the quoted work. He was a few hours late which wouldn't have been an issue as long as the correct work was done.Zach installed the wall charger with no issues at all. Half of the job done perfectly.However, he did not install the sub panel anywhere close to the original work order. Zach said there was no room in the wall to flush mount the sub panel stating that there were pipes in the way but did not give actual evidence to the claim. He proceeded to bolt the sub panel on the wall instead and used the Tesla charger itself as a literal J-box to feed the sub panel. The charger was NOT connected to the subpanel in ANY WAY.This resulted in an incorrect, confusing and unprofessionally installed sub panel. The charger is NOT designed to be used as a J-box to feed other circuits let alone a 100amp subpanel. Zach refused to fix the install to match the quote, said its fine, safe and up to code. He said he was running behind schedule and still had 2 other jobs to do. Zach offered me cash to be happy and not complain. I refused and decided to settle this with sales/customer service.Smart Charge promptly apologized for the poor installation and offered to immediately schedule a 2nd appointment with another electrician to fix the mistakes made and credited a discount on the invoice for the inconvenience.The 2nd electrician Brian was a complete night and day difference. Funny guy too. He immediately pointed out the flaws of the 1st install and assured me that he would fix everything. And he did! Brian found the perfect spot to flush mount the sub panel and properly ran the cables through the wall to the main panel outside. He worked his magic like a true professional. I only wish Brian was there the first time.I appreciate Smart Charge for handling my uncommon situation very professionally and I have a lot of respect for their customer service for taking responsibility in making things right!

After seeing all the great reviews that Smart Charge America received, I decided to hire them to install a nema outlet so I could charge my tesla at home. I have to say that I regret my decision big time.My first impression of the customer service person was really great. She was friendly and always willing to help. She kept me informed in every step of the way.She scheduled the installation and that was were the problems started.The installation was supposed to take place in an hour and a half. It took closer to three days.The installer arrived at 5pm for a 2pm appointment. His wife was with the installer so he was trying to do everything as quick as possible. He did a terrible job and actually installed the outlet upside down. This was a friday so he said he would come back on Monday. I waited for the installer at home all Monday long. He didn’t show up.When Smart Charge realized that they had screw up big time, they decided to send “their best installer” on Wednesday. So I had to take off from work one more day and be home for the installation.When I told Smart Charge that they made me lose 3 days of work and that I deserved a discount they said that they are human and they can make mistakes. No discount whatsoever.The only reason I am giving them 2 stars is because they owned up to their mistake and did something about it.If you are looking for a reliable and dependable installer, please do not go with Smart Charge America.

About a month I started shopping to get EV charger install in my garage. I sent request to multiple companies and Smart Charge offer me the most fair price. And yesterday, Damir and Kevin came to install the charger. They were very professional and installed the charger in less than 2 hours. I was amazed by the quality of their work. If anyone out there needs to install the EV charger, I recommend Smart Charge America 100%.

I used Smart Charge America to install a 240v plug for the purpose of charging our Tesla. They installed a 40amp breaker in the subpanel and ran the lines to the plug. Francisco and Clifford were on time and did the job very quickly and professionally. I would highly recommend them.

He also price-matched me with another electrician and got me a permit upon my insistence. Three electricians came and finished the work in an hour. Great experience using Smart Charge for my EV installation. Damir was prompt, professional, and courteous. We’ve had a slew of contractors come and go recently and he was the easiest to work with. Definitely recommend!

Smart charge installed the charger and I’m happy with the charger but their estimate and installation and communication and ultimately the cost were not good. In the end it cost me $500 more than the estimate and that all happened day of install after the tech was an hour late after finding out I was outside his normal service area, arrived with out type required wire to run the connection thru the crawl space and I was at the local hardware stores getting the right wire for the job. Management went back and forth with me for a few weeks before rejection my appeal to meet me in the middle of the quote vs day of $500 extra for the install. I would have used my local contractor who quoted me the same as the original quote from Smart Charge (so $500 less than I actually ended up paying) had I known they were going to be 15% more than expected and quoted.

I got quotes from this business for EV wiring and asked them for a breakdown of the work. It’s important for new customers to understand they are charging 2-3x more than any other local business with similar or better quality of work. The realistic break up of just the electrical labor from this company came out to be $500 PER HOUR for 3-4 hours of work, which is simply unheard of. I hope customers understand the ongoing scam and realize that the cost of installing EV infrastructure at home or office shouldn’t be what SmartCharge asks for.

David was my installer. He was courteous, friendly, and prompt. Install took about 3.5 hours and he didn't have to shut off my power. I found out 11 months later that they installed the wrong outlet but charged me for the correct one. And that the breaker had the wrong volt put in.So it never has charged correctly for almost a year. And my dealership confirmed that my battery with somehow deteriorating quicker.Only the service guy can help me bc it’s a weekend and he is sorry but he also won’t be here Monday when I do talk to someone in the office.AN UPDATE: while I’ve been assured it can’t possible be their own fault, I’ve been met with resistance and suspicion. Damir, Perez, Allen, James, Chavez Bambury, Scott, and Rick over at Smart Charge America were absolutely great to work with in installing the Powerwalls we had purchased through the new Tesla direct program. Even though there were missing parts they were able to find a spare and get things going. A team of 5 folks showed up and had most of the work done in a day. When things were not working as either they or I would have expected, they came back to resolve the issue and supported us through until it worked correctly. I would have no hesitation in recommending the team at Smart Charge America for your powerwall or any other electrical job.

Overall I had an excellent experience with both Scott and Damir. Scott was super flexible and helpful though the EV charger sales portion and Damir was an amazing installer going above and beyond. Damir's work was super clean, he made sure to avoid any eyesores on the exterior and was super friendly talking us though the process. This company needs to hire professional employees, as like this review your employees represent all aspects of your company, NOT JUST INSTALLATIONS.Your employees is a very aggressive driver and should be evaluated. I requested an estimate to get a Tesla charger installed, within a day I received an estimate from Rondell. I decided to hire them because the price seemed reasonable. After calling, leaving a vm, texting and emailing back, I have yet to hear from them. I would not recommend a company that can’t even answer you after multiple attempts.

Such a great experience from D and Roshell! They knocked out my car charger so quickly and everything looks so clean and professional. Not hard but it was a bit time consuming. After that, no problems.They were prompt in scheduling an appointment and communication was very good. Fernando and Zach did the installation. They were on time and very professional. Fernando took the time to answer some questions about future install options before starting. We found a good spot to locate the charger and installation was very quick. They set up the internet connection, updated the software, then took the time to explain the operation and meaning of the light status. Overall, a no hassle experience.After researching the options, I found the pricing and value to be reasonable. I considered using my regular electrician but I’m glad I didn’t. Smart Charge America specializes in installing electric car chargers and that was evident. The install went very quickly and is optimized for my car and electrical system. I had a lot of work done by this team (Francisco and Zach), and am extremely pleased with work they did. They organized all the permits with Austin energy and coordinated a date to get the main panel switched out, updated with ground rods, surge protector and fully brought to code. They turned up exactly on time both days - one day to install the main panel and another to install a sub panel in the garage and a Tesla charger out front. The install was incredibly tidy, and I don’t think it would have been possible to find anyone that could have done a better job. I would not hesitate to get this company to do any electrical jobs for me in the future.

I had a car charger installed in my garage. The team was outstanding, I dealt directly with Anthony and he was very professional and knowledgeable. He answered all of my questions and alleviated any concerns I had about the trenching required. They had to dig a 40 ft trench from the side of my house that went into my garage. They went through my front lawn and underneath the concrete porch. Somehow they got it all done in under 7 hours, very efficient. I highly recommend Anthony and Smart Charge.

If you need a Tesla Wall Connector installed and live in the Boston area USE THIS COMPANY. They were friendly on arrival (called me 30 min prior to arriving). They were very clear with how they would install my wall connector. They were in and out in under 90 min.

Within a week of first contacting Smart Charge America David L. and Tyler J. arrived at my house and quickly and professionally installed my new EV charger. The installation involved running conduit through the attic to my main outside panel. Despite all these challenges Tyler and David had smiles on their faces the whole time. Francisco and Tyler called to advise when they were 10 minutes out, and got right to work when they arrived. They reviewed everything and gave me the game plan to make sure I was in agreement. I requested the location be adjusted and they completed exactly as requested. They explained all the parts and pieces, and even let me know the parts that had been swapped out (making room in the breaker), were still good and could be used for spares in the future! Kindly answered all of my questions (however ignorant they may or may not have been)!Pricey installation, however, I really valued the 4 year warranty and the trees being planted!

Francisco and Zach had to reschedule with us due to the rain, but they showed up early on a Saturday and knocked it out for us. In addition to doing a magnificent job of installing the charger exactly where we wanted it (we had changed our mind at the last minute), they went above and beyond and pulled another cable of mine, for an entirely different project, and left me with some extra material to help me finish it up on my own later. They ended up saving me a ton of time on something completely unrelated to the charger, without me asking, because they recognized what I was up to and that they were in a situation to do something helpful.As for the charger itself -- we love it! Worrying that we'll have enough time to charge up our car is no longer something we waste our time with. With this install it charges bonkers fast. We love it.

Francisco and Tyler installed a new Level 2 car charger at our residence to increase charging power. In doing so, they were able to figure out and fix an intermittent issue that had plagued us with the old charger. Both Francisco and Tyler showed up time, communicated well, and were prepared and knowledgeable.

When we got our Tesla, we called several of their recommended companies to install our charger. We also called several local electricians, figuring that they would probably be more reliable and probably cheaper. We were wrong on both counts. Smart Charge was not only competitively priced, they were very responsive. So we decided to go with them.We have an older home here in San Antonio, and the main electrical panel was clearly undersized and not up to code. It was a lot of work, but they did it very professionally. When problems with the city inspector came up, they could have shrugged their shoulders and said not our problem, but instead got involved to smooth things out so we could have our power restored quickly. We are very happy with the quality of the work, the responsiveness of the company, and the entire process. We recommend them highly!

Searched around for someone to install a Tesla Wall Connector and received 4 quotes. Smart Charge America was not the cheapest, but I was extremely satisfied with their quote system as well as how simple their installation plan was. I Initially worked with Scott who was extremely helpful and made sure I was comfortable with the plan. Other companies seemed like they were making things more complicated; cut a wall in the house, run conduit from the side to the garage, etc. Smart Charge America’s plan was very simple. Clay and D, were the installers, extremely professional, and were an awesome team to work with. They did a fantastic job on the installation, cleaned up their mess, and even went above and beyond and cleaned up the rest of the garage. Extremely happy with my decision to go with Smart Charge America, and definitely recommend them.

WOW!!! I contacted Tesla to get quotes for a Wall Charger install for my Model Y and they put me in contact with Madison over at Smart Charge America. If you need anything done I recommend contacting her because the communication was excellent!Once the appointment was scheduled, they sent over Abran to do the installation. Abran really knows his stuff and makes great recommendations on how to do the installation to get the cleanest look. He also goes the extra mile and has you go through a charging motion to see if the charger install location actually works for you.If you receive quotes from Tesla for a charger install and Smart Charge is one of the vendors I would go with them. Very happy with this company, the best contractors that I've ever worked with. I contacted about 8 different electricians, talked them through my needs, had a couple of them out to my house for estimates and sent pictures to the rest. This company may not have been the cheapest (although they do price match if applicable) but they were by far the most professional, did not require any tracking down or follow-ups. Had a great experience with SCA - they took care of my Tesla Wall Charger integration in conjunction with my complicated panels - especially appreciated Brooks, Mark and Clay's help with that - I feel like my panels / breakers are in better shape because they took a look at them. I also really appreciated their support in filing the rebate with the City of Austin - they follow up with an email that helps you apply for the rebate - something that every EV owner should be taking advantage of!

I live in an older home and to install my tesla charger in the garage, we had to dig a trench to the main panel which was on a post 160 feet away. It began with Scott on email sending me detailed information about the cost and how I could finance it. Extremely helpful. Then there was David on the phone and text daily making it happen and checking in along the way. Then there was Clay, who literally had his hands in the dirt doing his best to move through various obstacles that came up along the way. We have super hard rock in the ground and had to also maneuver around other underground pipes. It was a huge job and Smart Charge America did a great job! Let me begin with WOW!! Dee & Soka are two highly trained and professional electricians. They answered a million questions, were patient and very skilled. They were organized and even cleaned up afterwards. I was surprised with the amazingly clean job they did for my Tesla car charger. I had a difficult time finding an electrician to install a charger until I met the folks form Smart Charge America. I highly recommend them for your charger and installation service!

I used Smart Charge America to install the electrical work to eventually use a ChargePoint Home Flex. The chargers were out of stock at the time the work was done, but the work order and my expectations were all the electrical work would be done to this specification.I finally received my charger, and the electrician put the outlet in the wrong place (the charger must be installed in a stud, and the cable will not reach the outlet). When I contacted Smart Charge about this error, I was told that the work order was to prepare to hardwire the charger, and it would just be a small amount of material to extend the wire to the charger. This was a lie.I received an estimate for hardwire that was nearly $800 as the breaker also had to be replaced. Clearly, the work order was not intended for the hardwired charger, and their contractor messed up and they are refusing to correct the problem.I am left with only being able to use my mobile charger. Absolutely do not recommend.

Want. quote to install a Tesla Wall Charger and an NEMA 14/50 outlet. Did not come onsite and for an extimate. Want me to commit to the Wall Charger install and will give me quote for the NEMA 14/50 install. I refused. Never received a follow-up, call back, email or a quote. Not what I expected from a Tesla recommended installer! Disappointing.

We had Smart Charge America install a new 240v/60a Circuit and Vehicle Charger in our home. Not only did they do an excellent job, but they took extra steps to make sure that the new wiring was as hidden as possible (I had a hard time actually finding it when they were done), and armored within the garage portion of the install. The results were better than I had expected. Would recommend to anyone looking for a home EVSE install.

I never felt pressured to have them do more work than I needed, I always felt supported and professionally guided in my electrical projects. Work Done -- NEMA 6-50 240v install on a new 50A circuit for EV Charging.Estimate & Scheduling -- Scott worked with me to provide an estimate using Smart Charge America's fantastic online quote utility (upload several pictures, get a quote, easy!). Scott helped me get the lowest price possible from SCA by lowering the initial estimate to better compete with another estimate I received. Customer service was fast and had no problems answering my questions!Price -- SCA is Tesla certified. They're not going to be the cheapest guys on the block, but they back their work with a 3-year warranty and are willing to negotiate on prices if you provide them estimates from other installers. Personally, I was comfortable with SCA's prices given the value of a well-reviewed, community recommended installer.Work -- Clay and Richard called ~45 minutes before my scheduled appointment and asked if they could show up early! They walked me through the work to be done, surveyed the site, and got to work! The Smart Charge America team installed a home electric car charging station (the ChargePoint Home 25 Hardwire) for our new Nissan LEAF. The entire team was fantastic. I was able to fill out a quote form online by taking a few pictures of my electric fuse box and the location where I wanted the EVSE (charger) installed.I got a reply within minutes, a quote with three charger options within a few hours and the Smart Charge America team had finished the installation within two days - even before we actually took delivery of the car! Plus, they handled the rebate forms for us to receive money back from our local electric utility.When we bought the car, no one at the Nissan dealership knew much of anything about a home charger. Thankfully, the Smart Charge team knew everything. Really organized crew. Can't recommend them enough.

TL;DR you pay excellent prices for good service.ProsOnline quote process is easy to complete; they came when they said they would; appeared knowledgeable; and installed a working charger in several hours.ConsOriginal quote included boilerplate verbiage that was not appropriate for our installation and I had to ask for it to be corrected to ensure I understood what they were quoting; they cleaned up some, but not all of the mess they made; I requested quote on an additional scope of work and am still waiting to receive that-- I told the salesperson I preferred to cancel the install date and wait for the quote but felt pushed into the date they gave me; I had to reach out to the administrative office twice to obtain the information I needed to file for the City of Austin rebate.And my bad: I approved the $299 upsell on the whole home surge protector, and once it was installed, realized it was actually just for electronics (e.g. not medical equipment), has a two-year warranty, and was a device that retails for $52 on Amazon that can easily be installed by the homeowner.

Smart Charge Residential installed both a BMW Wallbox and a Tesla 100A Wall Connector in my garage at a great price. From beginning to end they were highly professional and knowledgeable, answering all of my questions. They aren't just electricians. Many of them drive EVs and are highly passionate about the industry!During the install they walked me through the details of the work before starting. Once completed they gave me a tutorial on the chargers and how to use them. They warranty all of their work. They really go the extra mile. I wouldn't think of using anyone else.

We recent used SCA (Smart Charge America) to install a Tesla wall charger for my Model 3 (which will be spending part of the year in a second home “up north”). Our interactions with the representatives of SCA couldn’t have been easier or better. Everything was handled in advance via email and photos. We simply took photos of our garage, our electric panels and a few other details. And then they had everything planned, articulated and priced in advance. There customer service is good and they offer a 4 year warranty. Because of some hiccups I am having a hard time getting my rebate filed and taken care of which is one of the reasons I selected Smart Charge. Hoping it gets worked out soon so I can update my rating. But, it has been a long slog - working on the rebate since June 2018 and it is now Nov 18 and havent been able to get it filed yet. Frustrating.Update. After sending emails and calling Smart Charge for months - My paperwork is finally done. It took me calling Inspections directly. Not sure in what the truth is - Inspections said they had not heard from Smart Charge, Smart Charge said they called. I have no idea who is telling the truth but I was able to get an appointment after a few calls. Someone came out from Inspections and Smart Charge and I stayed home from work. It was painful and I’m glad it’s over. While Smart Charge was good in the beginning, I probably would not use them again. Sorry Smart Charge. Not your finest hour.

Supremely satisfied with the work Smart Charge did installing my 220 plug. Clay Johnson was my electrician and he made sure to explain everything I needed to know and cleaned up my garage afterwards, so thanks for that Clay!

Easiest process I’ve experienced so far. I received a quote quickly based upon photos I uploaded to their website and they adhered to that quote. Clay and his installation team were professional and sought my input on location and aesthetics. Final product looks seamless.

Had a Tesla 240v plug installed in the garage. Jeremy and Nathan were great - went the extra steps to ensure we were happy with placement and really made sure we were satisfied.

Upon arrival, the job scope changed considerably because of issues we would have getting wiring through the attic. The crew adjusted and worked a long day taking care of everything. Clay, D and Roshell worked in the rain and cold, having to trench and bury the conduit and wire, even under a walkway. They worked until way after dark. Thanks! I used a local installer in Scottsdale Arizona and he charged me for 10 feet of wire but refused to locate the charger anywhere but right at the breaker box unless he charged nope. Total rip off and recommend other installers.

I got a few estimates through the Tesla referral website to install a permanent wall charger. All were in the $1000+ range for installation only (not including the charger), which is absolutely absurd to run a new 60a circuit no more than 5 feet in my case. I ended up hiring a local guy that would do it for parts and labor and it cost $250 total. It seems to me that companies like this are deliberately inflating quotes to take advantage of buyers they assume to be affluent. Dishonest at a minimum, bordering on predatory IMO. Support your local electricians - they are more than qualified to do this work!
