Mitchell was prompt, knowledgeable, efficient, and thoroughly professional. As a technician, I certainly recommend him. Billy came for about five minutes to check on Mitchell and then left. Mitchell defined the problem quickly, a nonfunctioning zone valve, and then pointed out several other things that could be corrected. He prepared three estimates: $564 to repair the valve; $3000 to repair the other items; and $7000 to do a complete overhaul. I was shocked by the estimates and questioned why replacement of one zone valve should be $564. The explanation involved cost of the part, shipping, supply chains, etc. I was going to replace the valve myself but, in addition to this problem, had a refrigerator whose compressor quit and had to be replaced, and a car in the shop and did not want to deal with it. I told him to go ahead. It took less than ten minutes to insert the new valve. As he was doing it, I checked Amazon and the Honeywell valve retail cost is $76. He was there about one hour, so if Tipping Hat bought the valves at retail cost, their technician makes $488/hr. Everything is working fine now, no complaints, and it was done professionally. But their charges are exorbitant and I cannot recommend them for value or quality.
