DISHONEST COMPANY !

Our water heater was leaking water and I called AJ Buerkle early in the morning. The receptionist was not there and the owner Mr Buerkle himself ( although I did not know this at the time) answered my phone call and offered to come out to my home himself.
I was told over the phone that the water heater would need replaced.
Mr Buerkle promptly came to my house and confirmed it would need replaced and told me we would have a new water heater by noon. He told me then he was the owner.
I asked at that time what the cost would be and he told me it would be $1700 with installation.
This was not an estimate it would be the actual cost because it was a standard hot water heater replacement.
I told my husband it would be about $2000 preferring to round up higher just in case.

My husband commented that the cost was pretty high for just a hot water heater but I told him how pleasant Mr Buerkle was and how quick we would have our hot water back on.

HOWEVER .....
After the technician did the installation without any complications or changes, he called the office and we were told our bill was
$3000 !!!!!
No explanation or reason. The owner was no where to be found and my husband paid the amount because the water heater was already installed.

THE COMPANY IS DISHONEST, YOUR TYPICAL BAIT AND SWITCH. NOT TO BE TRUSTED!!!

GET A WRITTEN ESTIMATE BEFORE YOU ALLOW ANY WORK TO BE DONE!

Called over memorial weekend came out and checked the problem

We have been using A J Buerkle Plumbiing & Heating Company as our go to company whenever we have a need for plumbing work for the past 21 years. Today they dropped the ball. I called last week to schedule the replacement of the toilet tank components in our Kohler toilet in the guest bathroom. They said they couldn't get to us until today, Monday, December 12th. This morning I called to ask when they were coming to do the work. They didn't have me on the schedule and told me they didn't remember talking to me, even though we texted them pictures of the parts that were needed last week, which they confirmed. Won't use them again.

Quoted my 80yr old parents $1500 for water heater replacement. I replaced thermopile assembly for $28.
I REPEAT $28.00!!!!!!!

They did such an excellent job! I had a leak in my garage and one of there pumblers, John, fixed it without a problem! I highly recommend this company to fix any of ur plumbing needs.

I wanted to post a whole-hearted and enthusiastic recommendation for AJ Buerkle Plumbing Heating and Air Conditioning. We had an obscure leak from our 2nd floor laundry room into our kitchen. It was not easy to locate what was causing the leak. It involved cutting holes in a wall and a ceiling to locate the problem area and a remote camera to understand the problem. AJ Buerkle (father & son) managed the entire problem from beginning to end including a second professional to utilize a remote camera and then scheduling dry wall repair. Throughout the entire process they were courteous, informative, and extremely neat while doing their work. I was so grateful that they didn't simply identify a problem and leave me to figure out how to proceed to fix it. I cannot give a high enough recommendation for this company. The care, thoroughness and professionalism they displayed was what you hope for when facing a problem in your home but is not always easy to find. They removed all the stress for me while dealing with an urgent problem. It is a local family business that I am happy to support and recommend.

Great service! Al is excellent and very friendly. My wife and I bought a home in Mount Lebanon that was serviced by AJ Buerkle for years. After our first plumbing issue we called our Home Warranty company to have the issue fixed for their service charge. The line was flushed and problem fixed; however, the plumber (not AJ Buerkle) tried to pull a fast one and told us our sewer main line needed to be replaced (thousands).

We then wanted to get a second opinion since the home warranty places don't always use the best plumbers. We called AJ Buerkle, who recommended that we get an independent camera line testing company (paid for my our home insurance too) to film the line and then he would review the footage with us and recommend any work we needed to be done. After sitting with us and watching the footage, he informed us that the line was old but was honest with us that no work was needed.

It goes without saying that--unless it is a small job covered by our home warrant--we will never use another plumber for any service in our house. Honest companies are hard to find and they are always worth the small added costs.

Great Service...Great People...They Get The Job Done Right the First Time

They overcharged for each item. I had gas fired water boiler system repaired last year. For part that cost $87 online for the same brand they charged $150. For another part that cost &150 they charged $287. I called them but they had no explanation.

Al Buerkle has worked with my mother for a number of years now. My husband and I are in the process of buying a home and had a plumbing issue we asked the seller to fix - after the seller's plumber told us it did not need to be fixed we sought a second opinion from Al Buerkle. He was very quick in reviewing the dvd of the snaked drain and giving us a written opinion that we could send to the seller. He also talked to both of us about the issue and how it would need to be repaired. I felt very comfortable talking to him and held his opinion in very high regard given the extended working relationship he has had with my mother. While the seller ultimately decided to use her own plumber to fix the issue, he was very helpful and we will certainly use him for all of our plumbing needs in the future.

A. J. Buerkle Plumbing Company is an excellent company to use if you are having plumbing problems. They are professional, courteous and efficient. I had a toilet leaking in my bathroom which damaged the sub-floor, tile floor and ceiling below. Mr. Buerkle came out and diagnosed the problem and had all the specialists needed to fix the problem. He had a carpenter available, a tile person and a plasterer for me to use. He took all of the stress off of me to get the problem solved. I would highly recommend using A.J. Buerkle.

Massively overcharged my 82 year old mother in law by more than $125 for a garbage disposal replacement that took less than an hour and a half to replace! Crooks that prey on the naivety of the elderly should be completely ashamed of themselves!!

AJ Buerkle has shown us an outstanding level of customer service over the last 15 years. They have fixed pipes, installed water lines, unclogged drains, replaced toilets and bathroom facets, assisted with sump pump issues and always in the most professional and timely manner. This company is wonderful! I had an emergency plumbing issue. They were busy when i called but the owner came out to look at the problem. The showed up promptly the next morning and worked all day. They were professional, informative, friendly and thorough. They even cleaned up meticulously when they were finished. I highly recommend them!! I will use them again.

Al is THE BEST plumber in the South hills. He stopped by my house today to help diagnose an issue with water in my garage floor. He spent a half hour with me going over my situation in detail, leaving no stone unturned. Ultimately he said it wasn't an issue with my plumbing, and didn't charge me for a service fee even though his expertise was invaluable. I will use his company anytime something comes up.
