We completely remodeled the tiny bathroom in our little 1925 bungalow in Minneapolis, and we added a half bath upstairs. We thought it was a tiny project. Turns out that the project was physically small but complicated, the way projects in older homes can be.

Jim Schuman is a master plumber and we were extremely fortunate that he was assigned to our project. He figured out how to run the pipes for the upstairs bathroom without sawing the wood floors upstairs.

Everything Cities 1 said they were going to do happened when they said it would. If you've ever run a remodeling project, you know how huge and how rare that can be.

Everything went well with these guys. I can't recommend them highly enough.

I requested a boiler tune up, got a phone quote for 1 hour labor and a trip charge...total of about $210 or close. The tech came and went while I was not present at the home...later... I got a $521.00 bill. $300 of service that I did not approve or request. I emailed the office about how I could get billed for service that I did not approve, and got no response. A simple phone call after the initial assessment would have been quite easy, professional, and the total amount acceptable. Use someone else.

I called cities 1 out to my house after hours and they were prompt on getting to my house on time and took care of my laundry tub backing up and flooding my basement. They were very courteous in explaining to me why this happened and how to prevent it. They were affordable, I would recommend this company to anyone for plumbing.

We have used Cities1plumbing at Neumanns bar many times. They have put in air conditioning units, a boiler and fixed many plumbing issues we have had. They are very timely and very knowledgeable in anything we have needed. They have done a good job with my business & at my house i have had them do all the plumbing when we added a bathroom in our basement. I would recommend them to anyone every guy that has come out from this company has been very good at getting things done.

We had an issue with our radiant in-floor, which is usually difficult to find help. Todd Maul from Cities1 came out and diagnosed our problem, and had it fixed within the hour. He was professional, courteous, knowledgeable, and efficient. In addition, he provided a wealth of information on our system. I now know who I am calling every time I have an issue. This was one of the best service providers I have worked with in a long time!

I recently called to have 3 running toilets fixed! Josh, the plumber assigned to my case called before he came and gave me an ETA! What struck me, is how energetic and polite he was on the phone! So awesome to hear! He showed up when he said was going to, was sincerely polite in person as he was on the phone, and fixed all 3 running toilets! I strongly recommend Cities 1 Plumbing Heating, and Air Conditioning! Their service and professionalism was a breath of fresh air! 10/10

I highly recommend Cities1 for your plumbing needs. They are considerably less expensive than the more publicized companies because they don't spend money on advertising. Their staff is friendly and very knowledgeable. You won't be disappointed hiring them!

This is a mixed review, as I've had both a good and bad experience with Cities 1, ironically with the same service person. I will do my best to just explain the facts and let anyone reading these reviews make their own decisions.
I was referred to Cities 1 a few months ago, and I had them come service my air conditioning in my townhouse. David R (HVAC) came, and he was very professional, explaining what he was doing and why he was doing it. Given my general lack of knowledge on the subject, I felt very confident that David was doing great work at a fair price. We recently moved, and my duct-cleaning company said they could do their best work if the attic furnace were serviced by an HVAC professional first. So I called Cities 1 again, and I immediately explained to the rep there that this was my first priority. She assured me that wasn't a problem.
When the day arrived, I was thrilled to get David R again. But days later, when the duct-cleaning company returned, they informed me that the attic furnace was not clean. When I inquired about this, David insisted that wasn't one of his objectives and then tossed out some obscene figure to do the work. Again, I was clear with the first person I spoke to what the main objective was, that this wasn't just a general checkup. I have since called Cities 1 every four or five days, and no one has provided me any solution or shown any accountability.

These guys were super professional, quick, and easy to work with. Will be using them for any future needs around the house. A++

We’ve hired Cities1 for our boiler repair, tune ups, and mini-split AC install and have been extremely happy with everything they’ve done. Prices are very competitive, and they’ve always been extremely professional, friendly, and fast! We just had them out for a boiler tune up, and Jim was wonderful. He walked me through everything and explained things in a way I understood. He genuinely cared about making sure I understood. We initially had a quote from a different company about needing a complete boiler replacement, but our boiler apparently has a lot of years left in it. Honest company with great employees, highly recommend!

Hi there, giving them 2 stars as the tech that came out very nice and polite and the company did respond pretty quickly to my dispute. Was hearing some strange sounds from my boiler so asked neighbors who to contact that was affordable/trustworthy. Was referred to Forrest heating. Called number for them and was surprised that they had answered as Cities1. They explained the had purchased Forrest Heating and he was now working for them. Set an appointment to have it looked at the next week.

Rep came out and was nice and respectful and had me crank up my heat to see what happened in less than ten min he let me know the unit was heating too high so the High Limit Temp sensor/modual was bad and would run out to the truck to call hiss boss and check and see how much it would cost to fix. After talking to his boss he came back in and let me know it would be about $700 to fix. I asked for a breakdown of the cost and he said he would have his boss call back to give me a breakdown. He also warned me that his boss would likely try to sell me a new boiler given mine was a bit old. Given the cost I said I would have to get another opinion before making a decision.

Called another group and explained the condition, part needed and the cost which was met with a laugh. I will admit we didn't discuss the specific product number but I informed him it was a Bryant unit from the 1970's and gave home the model and he stated the part itself should be no more than $100-150 and takes 10 min to install. He then asked if I had turned the temp up on the sensor and turned it back down as it can be common for them to stick? I tried it per his instructions and now everything is working fine again, no $700 fix.

Fast forward a month later a bill shows up in the mail (which I fully expected) for $205 for the 15 min visit (which I did not expect) Emailed the company given the cost and being less than satisfied with the $700 quote for a sticky switch and the trying to sell me a new boiler for a minor issue and to their credit the owner got back to me right away. Politely tried explaining to me that $205 is the minimum charge for a house call and that their rates are competitive and even for small jobs they have to bill for more time to make it worth their while. We ended our conversation at that.

In conclusion, I'm giving them 2 stars as they came out on time and were responsive to my dispute, but I would not recommend them based on their trip costs, parts cost, calculation of time billed for and in my opinion an emphasis on getting you to do the most expensive things not trying and explaining other alternatives.

HORRIBLE and VERY DISHONEST. They sent a Dave out to fix the plumbing only thing he did was spent an hour and busted the wall in the bathroom and told us he would come back another day. It takes 5 minutes to bust the wall open and come to find out there was no leak at that wall and he wanted to charge us for 1 hour $205 something dollar and had the guts to say he wasn't sure when he'll come back. UNPROFESSIONAL and UNRELIABLE do NOT waste your money.

I had a wonderful experience with Cities 1 Plumbing. I submitted a request via email Sunday night and was contact Monday morning by Megan. She was delightful to speak to and was even able to schedule a same day toilet install. A few hours later Don showed up at my door and fixed my toilet issue within an hour. I had a functioning toilet in under 12 hours from the initial point of contact. I am super impressed and will be recommending them to family and friends.

The best quality and service I've EVER had regardless of job. Would recommend in a heartbeat to friends and family.

I just had Rich Peterson and his wonderful crew of plumbers practically re-plumb my entire house and they did and AMAZING JOB! I am in the midst of a full kitchen and bath remodel and I am so happy I chose Cities 1 to do my plumbing work. Rich stopped out and looked over the job and gave me GREAT insight into how best to design my bath and I was so thankful! If you are considering Cities 1, as a plumbing contractor, please know that they will be fair, honest and trust worthy guys to have in your home or business. PS Dave is my favorite guy on their crew!!!

I gathered quotes from several HVAC providers in the twin cities. Cities1 gave me the best quote. They didn't try to pressure me into anything. They kept things simple: showed up, installed the furnace, charged what they said they would. Can't ask for more!

Janela Taylor - I had to have an Old furnace and A/C replaced after having a few quotes etc. I decided to use Cities 1 and glad I did they did an amazing job called before arrival used booties to cover there boots Cleaned up all there mess and had it done in a few hours😊!. They also correctly plumbed out the pipe as my previous was not!..... I am very pleased/happy with the whole project from start to finish! THANKS Cities 1 you are amazing at what you do!!!!!! Will always use your company! Thanks Again!!!!!!

Dan Simmer did such a great job replacing the drain pipe for my bathroom. He took the time to explain everything to me and always asked if I had additional questions. Reasonably priced, professional and left things clean. I highly recommend Cities 1 and will definitely use them for future projects.

After a service call identified potential larger issues with our furnace Cities One quickly came out and gave us a competitive estimate and got the installation set up for the same week. Adam did an excellent job on the install. He added an extra cold air return box under the new furnace to increase and optimize the return air volume and furnace efficiency. He ensured all duct seams were taped. He was very courteous and informative and excellent clean up at job completion. I have had Cities One install and service my boilers and hydronic in floor heating system with excellent results on two homes. They are my go to HVAC contractor.

Dan Simmons and the team at Cities1 were the pros we needed after poor experience with a typical sewer cleaner company (in dispute now so won't mention their name...yet). Dan not only solved the sewer issues in my 1915 era home, but provided me with a real education in how to handle future problems. He was knowledgable, patient and thorough in exploring all possible causes, then called in Ben from McCollough to scope and auger my basement lines. I would highly recommend both companies. Don't be fooled by the 'same day, low cost' offers - get a professional diagnosis before agreeing to any fees or services, especially in older homes. By using Cities1, I saved thousands and now have total confidence in the solution they provided.

$617 for an $80 part and hour of labor.....never again

I am a maintenance technician for a property. I fix HVAC units and there are times when I too need help and the first company I call to be honest is Cities 1. I've dealt with other companies but after my experiences with Cities 1, I promise I'll never call anyone else ever again.
From the very first phone call to every single technician that has come out to service/fix our units it is a pleasurable experience. The gal scheduling the appointment is extremely courteous, helpful, professional and always wants to help you. What else I really like is she seems knowledgeable too. The technicians are almost like old friends that come to help you out. They are personable, friendly, obviously incredibly knowledgeable and they share their expertise with you and explain what they did/are doing. What's more is they seem to always remember me too and I really like that.
I honestly am thankful for Cities 1. I refuse to call anyone else because they are so great. Thank you Cities 1.

Always a wonderful experience when we work with Cities 1! I work for a Property Management company in Downtown Minneapolis, so we use plumbers on a fairly regular basis, and our go to has been Cities 1 for years!!

When I called Cities1Plumbing, I spoke with Emily, who was professional and so kind as I was upset and frantic about issues with my home. I was immediately put in touch with Dan who came out to our house with urgency and calmly explained everything to me in such an amazingly clear way. Cities1 saved our home. He addressed problems with ease and was so amazingly professional. I can't say enough about them. I highly recommend!

I had a chimney guy rebuilding my chimney and we discovered my hot water heater in the basement was not connected properly to the duct going up the chimney. I needed it fixed that day. Most shops I called said it would be weeks before they would be able to come, but Cities1 said they could get a guy out the next day. A little while later I received a call from them informing me Tyler would be over in an hour. He fixed my duct problem in a hour, even though he had to bust out some of my chimney to get at the ducts properly. They really responded to my dilemma and came through. Can't thank them enough!

Excellent experience with Cities1, I had a minor plumbing issue after a recently completed bathroom renovation. The boss, Rich, was very responsive to my calls and was very friendly and helpful in explaining possible issues. The plumber he sent out was very friendly and was able to quickly diagnose the issue (hair clogged drain) and fixed the issue in less than an hour. Highly recommend this company, they truly care about customer satisfaction and getting the job done!

We had a leaking pipe late on Saturday, July 30. My husband called five different plumbing businesses that said they were 24 hour and seven days a week but two could not come out until Monday or Tuesday. Cities one was the only one that called us back and were able to come out Saturday evening. Jim could not have been more friendly and helpful and his quick response saved a lot of headache for my husband and I. We needed a Radiator moved and a range gas line moved. Larry came out and looked at the job. You find out real quick that he does not try to sell you anything you do not need and answers all questions so truthfully. His knowledge is very tremendous and you will not find a nicer guy to deal with. This is my first experience with this company and I feel like I got very lucky finding them. Now as to the technician that came out, His name is Casey(sp). He EQUALLY as nice and knowledgeable. What you would call a real Tradesman of the old school type which you do not see as much these days. This company is serious about their work and I cannot recommend them highly enough.

My thermostat was not working and Technician fixed it immediately without having to replace it. He also serviced my furnace and prepared it for winter. He bled all of the radiators, as well. He was very knowledgeable, professional, and efficient. I HIGHLY recommend Cities1 Plumbing, Heating & Air Conditioning.

installed Mini split for my contractor, permit pulled 10/23/2020. They had to come out and fix the install august ($400) they call me on feb 07 2022 and tell me they never got paid and it is going to collections in a week. I reach out to my contractor and here is the response Turns out I do know Rich at Cities 1! We chatted and I gave him the heads up on the check. Attached is the summary as you requested I don't know what is going on with this company, but I had a terrible experience.

Outstanding company

Communication and service were great. Honest and reliable. Definitely be using them again at our business.

We use Cities One for all of our apartment buildings and they have been great. We probably call them once a day right now for some of our older buildings and they have always been easy to get a hold of and do a great job.

Lack of attention to detail. Lots of solder dripped on floor and they threw a rug over it (I cleaned it up). Huge holes drilled through studs for small diameter piping. Drilled 2.25 hole through the top of a closet door jamb for no reason, and one other unneeded large hole (oops!). Basically anything that wasn't connecting two pieces of pipe was done sloppy.

Cities 1 Plumbing always comes in clutch. They are there for you at the drop of a dime. Even when they are backed up, if it is an emergency they make it happen. Cities 1 is like having a handy father in law to save your butt when you are in a pinch. Definitely the top plumber in Minneapolis/St. Paul. You can look around and try and find a better plumber in the Twin cities... But you won't.

My husband and I recently had a gas leak issue. We are so grateful for having found Cities1Plumbing. They were courteous, on time and just did a wonderful job. A previous company wanted to charge us triple but Cities1Plumbing were so reasonable and honest. We will definitely be using them again in the future and telling anyone looking for plumbing work to call them. Thank you!

I am a licensed general contractor that has been using Cities 1 team of plumbers for more than 5 years now and have nothing but great things to say about them. Wether its a code compliant rehab or replacing a old water heater there team can handle it. The guys are professional and courteous and show up when they say they will. I would highly recommend Cities 1 plumbing and heating for all your plumbing needs.

Furnace/AC fan making a little noise so we thought we would call and have Cities1 come out to check it out. WOW! I guess since its so hot out they decided they can up there truck charge. $149.95 truck charge plus a minimum 1 hour charge of 68.95. $218.98 just to have them show up. Unbelievable! I asked why the prices are so high the lady says its hot out! CAN YOU SAY GOUGE? Called around and found several places with waaayyyy better pricing! A guy from Cities 1 called me back to cancel the appointment because I complained about the prices! We have way too much business and don't need yours!
GET ANOTHER PLUMBIMG AND HEATING COMPANY! THESE GUYS DONT NEED YOUR BUSINESS!
