A-1 Affordable Plumbing

They came to do plumbing as a preferred provider from my Home Warranty Company. A leak caused water stains on the ceiling of my shower. There is a bathroom directly above it. The plumbers that came seemed nice enough but couldn’t determine where the leak was coming from (the upstairs, sink, toilet, shower or jacuzzi bathtub?). They advised the only way they would be able to find out was to bust open the ceiling in the shower. They suggested I monitor the upstairs use and if I can figure out where it’s coming from, I can call them to come back. I had a roofer measure from the wall to the showers stall and then measure the same distance upstairs. No question about it. The toilet was directly above the shower. I called for them to come back and was told by the person who answers the phones and scheduling that if there wasn’t a current leak that they can see, that they will not pull the toilet. So after paying $75 service fee for them to come out (for nothing!) I had to get my own plumber who took but a few seconds to walk in and decipher that the toilet was directly above the shower. I had to pay him to pull the toilet and sure enough, it was very wet. So, I will never use A1 Affordable Plumbing again! I don’t understand why it took a roofer to think to measure and the plumbers didn’t think of that? Really?

Absolutely terrible with lots of other companies out there I would definitely look elsewhere

Want to thank you for a job well done. Billy was very courteous and professional. Every repair was fixed and taken care of. He was in and out. Lol... I was a little confused about the softball...Billy would have to tell you about that. And YES I would recommend A-1 Affordable plumbing inc.to my friends and family.

Horrible utterly horrible...from the woman who schedules with a horrible attitude to the plumber who leaves a note that he was there but doesn't ring doorbell or knocks...horrible...and I trusted them to come fix something that they couldn't get to last week but I live less than a block away and told them EXACTLY what I needed

Fantastic job! I was nervous because it was a warranty service request. Bill arrived in a timely manner. He was knowledgeable and efficient. He resolved the issue and left me one pleased customer. I have nothing but good things to say about his service. I would not hesitate to use them in the future.

I am so thankful A-1 Affordable Plumbing has a relationship with my home owners warranty company. Billy is so knowledgeable about many plumbing issues and I was blessed with having him show up for my repairs. He explained my problems in a manner that I was able to understand and receive. He also answered many follow up questions I had. He even offered to clean the area he performed work on. For several years I had issues with my water pressure and other plumbers were unable to identify that my water softner was the culprit. I will definitely refer my friends and family to A-1 Affordable Plumbing.

Service is top notch. I was pleasantly surprised. My hot water tank was installed quickly and efficiently and I made good time getting to work. I highly recommend them. Diane ordered my tank right away so there was no delay getting it installed, otherwise I would have been without hot water even longer. The plumber was knowledgeable and did a great job.

These guys are super unprofessional and rude. I would not recommend them to anyone. They came out to fix a hot water heater issue 3 different times and still have the same issue. I asked if they will be able to fix this and their response was we will keep coming out as long as we are getting paid. After their third visit the hot water tank has stopped working altogether. Please take your business elsewhere.

Have a $100 deductible with a home warranty. Guy came out tightened 1 nut and left. 3 months later have leak at same location. Called home warranty and they said I would not be charged. Made appointment with plumber and they said the work they did was no longer guaranteed because the guarantee expired that it would be another $100 service charge. Yeah right!! Not gonna happen.

Update: The plumber came out replaced the ptrap and slipnut coupling. As a courtesy he calked the countertop to base as that was loose. He was really professional and completely changed my view of this company. Best part is my home warranty covered it so no additional cost. I recommend them.

Wanted to charge me a service call, to fix the same faucet they didn't fix right the first time. And they had to use my tools!

The man came to my house to fix my tub faucet. He left, took my money, when I went to turn on the faucet it didn't work. I called them to come back and fix it and they refused. Horrible customer service and horrible plumbing services.

Ralph was great! He called ahead, was on time, polite, explained everything he was doing in detail, and fixed everything within an hour. After getting the runaround from another home warranty preferred provider for weeks, waiting around for hours, and multiple no-shows - A-1 was a breath of fresh air! Thank you Ralph.

I have used used them for many years on my commercial building my renter one of his employees was sick and late getting to the shop to open up they left and said said you can no longer be of service to you. Called for the owner and received a phone call 3 days later from the secretary and said we can go back out but for double the service call

I recently had my hot water tank leak in my home on a Saturday night and the insurance company sent them Monday morning. Billy was very nice and he worked quickly and professionally. He had all the equipment to repair the water tank to allow water usage until the replacement tank came.

I received service through my home warranty provider. A young man by the name of Billy came out, fixed the issue, & offered to answer any questions about any other problems I may be experiencing with my plumbing. He was very pleasant & professional. I will definitely be doing business with this company again & will refer them to friends.

I would never recommend this company. The work is poor quality, the attitude of the plumber is laxidasical, and the woman on the phone when you call is rude, obnoxious and unkind. Multiple trips to my house to fix a leak in the upstairs bathroom that also had a bad clog. My homeowner warranty company sent this company out, and they did not fix the problem. Instead of being pleasant and gracious by taking ownership of the failure to fix the problem, the lady was blaming me! A reschedule will be WEEKS out, and the 4th of July weekend is about to begin.

Do you want the job done? Maybe give them a call. Do you want it done correctly and professionally? Do yourself and your plumbing issue a favor and call someone else. A-1 Affordable Plumbing happily takes your money and that of the Homeowners Warranty, but they REALLY don't like to actually fix anything.

My warranty company has dispatched another.

In Cleveland, my daughter's hot water tank stopped working. I live in Wooster and Diane arranged for repair to be done and for me to pay by credit card over the phone.

Awful! I have never delt with such nasty and rude customer service!

My home warranty company sent these bozos. The upstairs toilet leaking into the kitchen was the main problem, but we had some other minor problems to add. A guy came out. My wife saw him leaving the house and was surprised he was already done so quickly. So she asked him Did you get everything done? He said yes he had. That was the day before we left for our vacation. When we got back, the toilet was still leaking into the kitchen! We called them and said basically, Hey, he said he fixed everything, but didn't fix the leaking toilet. They sent someone else no charge. Fine. The guy comes out while I'm at the store. I tell my teenage son to tell him to call me if he has any questions, and my son did so. I rushed home and got there about 5 to 10 minutes after he had arrived, but he was already gone! He told my son that there was no problem! He didn't bother to contact me to tell me this nor ask me exactly what we were experiencing. Just left. I was livid. I called A1 Affordable Plumbing immediately, hoping that I could get the guy back out before he got too far. The woman on the phone was totally unsympathetic and only argued with me, basically saying that he would not come out, and that he was right, and I was wrong -- there was no problem with the toilet! I told her to try standing in the kitchen here sometime when it starts leaking toilet water. Avoid this questionable outfit.

Diane was very rude. This company works with home warranty company and seems to prioritize you accordingly. Work on the customer service Diane.

Was surprised to see the negative reviews, as the plumber from A1 came at the early end of the expected time window, worked quickly and fixed multiple problems. He showed me that the work had been completed, demonstrated that the problems had been resolved and gave me infomration on how prevent future problems. Also said that they would come back within 60 days to revisit any problem they had worked on today that wasn't throughly resolved, free of charge

Great company to work with. On time, professional. Found the problem solved it quick. Leak all fixed.

Our plumber, Bill, called prior to his arrival. He was prepared and ready to make the needed repairs. His courtesy and professionalism were on display from the time he pulled in the driveway. He demonstrated his knowledge of plumbing by checking for the little things before making larger repairs, which, as it turns out, weren't necessary. A-1 Affordable Plumbing is a company we recommend and Bill, our plumber, is a star. The company and his clients are lucky to have him. Well done.

DO NOT USE THIS PLUMBER!

I was put in contact with this plumber through my home warranty to address issues with my shower. When they came to my home, the plumber was in and out within 30mins and didn't fix any of the issues I had. I was told he would do some research and get back in touch. He collected the $100 deposit required by the home warranty and left. The next day I received a voicemail that said nothing can be done and the claim is being closed. So now I'm left with a shower that still doesn't work and $100 out of my pocket.

When I called the plumber back to have them come back out, the woman was condescending and provided no solutions to the predicament I was in.

Very poor customer service, took my money and ran. DO NOT USE THIS PLUMBER!

We called at 6:15 pm for a leaking shower and possible blocked drain. Nick was out by 7:45 pm. He checked out the shower, drain and access panel and determined that the problem wasn't the pipes but a crack in the shower wall itself. Unfortunately, that's not something they do. No charge for the visit and consultation. Nick was very courteous and professional. Zero problems with Nick or the contact person when we called in. I'm surprised by the prior negative comments. Definitely would consider using them in the future for other plumbing issues.

Their service has been great each time they come to our house.

Diane was able to squeeze me in on the same day I notified them about the problem. Billy got there quickly & took care of the problem, answered all my questions and ordered another part that needed to be replaced. It couldn't have been smoother or easier and I am happy to have found such an awesome company. Highly recommend!

I could not have had a better experience with this crew! I was so concerned with the leaks in my house and worried that it was going to cost me thousands of dollars. Not only was it amazingly affordable, but they called to let me know they were on the way, they were on time, they were courteous and professional! These folks are real pros and exactly who you need if you have any plumbing issues.

I have to give one star, but they don’t deserve it. He set the water temperature to an illegal 150 degrees Fahrenheit and it nearly burned my hand while doing the dishes. Setting it this high also caused the pipe to burst and leak in the basement. Terrible service.

Had a horrible experience.

Missed the first appointment completely, were late to the second one. They also installed plumbing that was against code, which I later had to repair at my own expense to meet inspection.

I recommend avoiding this business at all costs.

Billy came to our house today and did an excellent job. He was efficient, quick, professional and helpful. We give him 5 stars for a job well done. We highly recommend the company and Billy.

They never followed up and left me with a plumbing issue. I will now have to call another company to get an estimate after they came. Unresponsive and unprofessional. I am more than happy to give them another opportunity to follow up and make things right. Hopefully they will surprise me yet my guess is that they just don't care.

Based on your response you really don't care. I spoke with your organization and was promised and estimate then called back and left a message. I wanted to engage you to fix the issue yet did not receive any follow up. At this point I have called another provider. If your intake team was a bit more friendly I might have continued to reach out yet it was evident that they were disinterested in helping me obtain an estimate. By the way, have you created an estimate yet, it has been over 2 weeks.

Used A-1 for a water tank replacement through my home warranty. Repairman came out very promptly and installed it with no issues. Very friendly. There were some extra charges for modifications but i have no issued paying for them.The home warranty does state that is not covered. Before bashing them for things they cannot control, look over your home warranty to make sure what is covered. I would recommend them!

Wish I could give zero stars. Absolutely the worst. They are incredibly rude whether they are in your home or on the phone. Explained my situation of just purchasing a house and not having the money TODAY but will FRIDAY and told me to use a credit card and it wasn’t her problem. Horrible, horrible customer service.

Through my home warranty, I was connected with A-1. I had no trouble getting an appointment. Billy called to say he would be arriving within a half hour, which was right at the start of the time frame I was given! He evaluated my plumbing issues, explained what was needed, gave me some options, and ordered the necessary parts. He was professional and friendly. I will absolutely recommend this company to my family and friends. Well done!

Billy was my service representative. He was prompt, efficient and very knowledgeable, regarding my water heater repair. He explained everything to me, in terms I could comprehend. It took two appointments to complete the work, and he made sure to do what was necessary to stop the leak on the first visit. The office staff was also courteous and professional. They addressed my repair and appointment, in a timely manner. I would gladly recommend A-1 Plumbing and Heating to others. Five Stars!!! ⭐️

Wanted to charge me almost $200 to replace a wax ring on a toilet. Unbelievable. Thankfully, I found another plumber who did the job right, showed up on time and charged me only $90.

My home warranty sent these guys for no water pressure in the shower and a leak in the sink he put Teflon tape on the shower head and told me I need to get caulk around the sink??? Isn't that what they are paid to do?? Not tell me to fix it!!! Paid my 100$ deductible for Teflon tape and told to go buy caulking terrible service

My warranty company told me something was covered under my warranty and they refuse to fix it. I asked to speak with a manager and they refuse.

This company came out through my home warranty insurance and was supposed to fix a leaking toilet. A day later I called them back because the toilet is still leaking. The receptionist that answered the phone stated she would call me back after speaking with the technician. Well that never happened, so I called them back this morning because now it is leaking more than it was originally leaking. I was told they could not come out until late next week and to shut the water off. I informed them that they should be able to come back out being it wasn’t fixed the next day and I was informed to go back through my insurance because the insurance would issue a recall. THIS IS THE TYPE OF BUSINESS THAT WE (CUSTOMERS) SHOULD INFORM OTHERS ABOUT BECAUSE THIS IS A POOR BUSINESS PRACTICE AND POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE!

While I understand that sometimes something like this can happen, the right thing to do would have been to dispatch a technician to finish the repair completely, not push it off and put the customer in a worse position than they already were. However, after reading several threads, one common theme seems to continually resurface...poor customer service (rude, obnoxious, condescending) from the receptionist (Diane) and not completing work orders as dispatched.

I've called them twice and they have been responsive, prompt and helpful with problem.

The A-1 Affordable Plumbing technician was very nice and did a great job fixing our hot water tank. But on his way out he destroyed a 13ft section of my lawn with his truck causing over $300 worth of damage. He said he'd fix it, but never returned to do so.

A-1 Affordable Plumbing made no effort to compensate us and when we called to inquire, Diane called us an a**h*le and hung up on us.
