They were very friendly and informative. Kevin priced out all the options for fixing my old dual unit (15yr AC unit and 27yr furnace). Then After Justin priced out a complete replacement, which is the option I chose.

Permanence in nature is not a value of these modern day hucksters. Installation and repair maintenance racket. They have not once cleaned the air conditioner evaporation coils. The system has had multiple failures. And they still want a maintenance fee for a system that was 10X the price of a big ticket item.
RH&A has done my bi-annual maintenance for a few years, and my experience with them has been good in that regard. So when it was time to get my system replaced I got a couple quotes and ultimately decided to go with the company I was already familiar and comfortable with. Sales experience was fine. However, installation was NOT. It has been an ordeal. Installation day was fine, but when the AC came on for the first day it was actually warm, the system stopped working. RH&A sent someone out, and turns out the AC drain lines had been installed incorrectly. Then the town inspector came out to do the inspection, but because RH&A had not left the necessary equipment on site to do the inspection (in this case, a ladder), the inspector had to decline the inspection. RH&A sent out a ladder, inspector came back, and failed the inspection due to a small air leak and lack of CO2 monitors, which I was unaware were required to be provided to me. RH&A came back out and fixed the air leak and installed the monitors. That repair person found that the trim surrounding the attic access was falling off, having been removed to get the new equipment into the attic. I had already corresponded with someone at the company about it and sent pictures, but they were ignored. Thankfully this time they sent someone out right away and got it affixed properly and cleaned up/painted. Then the inspector came back out and everything passed. Now I just need to get RH&A to come back out and take their ladder, which has been sitting on my front porch for 4 days, even though the company had pressured me to move up the final inspection because they needed their ladder back.
Luckily I am able to work from home, because all in all I had to stay home SEVEN times to get this all dealt with. That is not acceptable. I do have to point out that all of the issues stem from the initial installation. My overall interactions with the company have been positive - they are friendly, apologetic, and worked quickly to remedy the issues. However, during the initial sales pitch, they made a big deal of how all the installers were certified, trained, etc. Apparently mine needs some additional training....
I haven't decided whether to renew my maintenance contract next year. Luckily I won't have to deal with another installation for many years (I hope).

Had to get my upstairs AC unit replaced. Got what I felt was an excellent quote, for a larger unit and some additional ductwork to our bonus room. Dewayne and David handled the install, and we couldn't be happier with their professionalism, including taking care to keep the house clean. My wife even demanded to know what brand of vacuum they used. The job took a little longer than expected, as the attic area presented an especially challenging workspace, but they didn't leave us without AC, and completed the job promptly the next business day.
Now the upstairs can beat the heat, which the old unit hadn't been doing for years. We are very pleased with Raleigh Heating and Air!

Worst customer service I’ve ever experienced. I’ve spent 1000s of dollars with this company and they just can’t get it right. Every couple of months something is broken. I told the tech I’ll pay for a whole new system I just want a working hvac system. He told me that everything had been replaced in my system and I’m good for another 10 yrs. Well they’ve been out here 3 more times since then. I told them to fix everything I don’t want to have to pay another diagnostic fee, I even signed up and paid for the preventative maintenance. They came out and looked at it for the maintenance and said everything is working and I’m good to go. I’ve had to reset my pilot light multiple time since then and now it isn’t working at all. I called them back and told them I know what is wrong and I’ve spent 1000s of dollars with you already and I even signed up for preventative maintenance but my HVAC still doesn’t work after they’ve been out here multiple times. They still said they would charge me a diagnostic fee. This company will rip you off as much as they can. The girl who answers the phone laughed at my frustration and when I spoke to the manager he told me to take my business elsewhere and he hung up on me. They do not value their customers!!
When I called, Diane was very courteous on the phone and scheduled a technician to come to my home on the same day. Ken was the technician they sent and he was very professional and knowledgeable. He was able to fix replace the motor of my inside heating unit in no time and restored heat in my home on the same day. I value a company that can support me as soon as I need it, some things cannot wait until next week.

We have been using Raleigh Heating & Air for years. They continue to provide superior service and their technicians are experienced professionals.
I chose Raleigh Heating & Air based on their reviews, but I was very disappointed with the outcome. They sent their technician out to diagnose the problem with my A/C which was $95.00. The technician advised me that the system was empty (no refrigerant) that my A/C may have a leak. His recommendation was that since the unit is 10 years old, he recommended a new system due to the age. Also if I wanted them to do a leak search, it would cost me an extra $139.00. In my mind I felt my unit was not that old. My gut feeling was, I would rather get a 2nd opinion than to pay $4,000 to $6,000 for a new unit that I may not even need. So I got a 2nd opinion from another expert technician/company who came out diagnosed my problem/found the leak for half of what Raleigh Heating and Air charged. The new technician advised me that the leak was open and ovious and was within eye shot. He basically found the leak within less than 15 minutes. So I got my A/C up and running for less than $800.00. The new technician advised, I can get at least another 5 to 6 years out of my unit.

Kevin S. and Mark H. installed our new upstairs heating and air conditioning units yesterday along with a downstairs wifi thermostat. They arrived when we requested them, and they completed this project in a professional, timely and efficient manner. They placed plastic on my steps and landing, kept me informed of their progress, and instructed me on how to set my wifi thermostats. They also removed all of the project related debris. I am very pleased that we chose Raleigh Heating and Air for this work.

We called Raleigh Heating and Air in May of this year to come look at our heat pump system because it wasn't cooling properly. They sent a tech out the same day and had it diagnosed within minutes! The tech was very professional and helpful in our decision to purchase a new system. Our new system was installed two days later. The installers were on time and did an excellent job! When they were done we couldn't even tell they had been there. They picked up all their trash and made sure that it looked just like it did before they started. They set everything up for us including the new thermostat in the house. Raleigh Heating and Air is top notch and I have and will continue to recommend them to everyone I know! Their entire staff is very professional and go above and beyond to make sure you get the help you need!

At one time, I thought highly of this company, but my most recent experiences have been terrible. I would not recommend them to friends, or family.
They quoted $823 to replace an inducer motor on my HVAC system. Without any HVAC experience, I viewed a couple YouTube videos, then ordered the part on-line for $320. It took me only 45 minutes to replace the part. And, the vast majority of that time was taken in reading the directions and double checking my work. It was simple. Yet, they sought to charge over $400 an hour for labor to replace a snap in part. Worse, for something that took me 45 minutes, would likely have taken an HVAC repair person 10 to 15 minutes, making the true labor rate appreciably higher. Can you imagine what they would charge if complexity was involved? Just watch a couple YouTube videos on compressor, drier or accumulator replacement. That's where skill is required. This was a very simple job, yet they attempted to fleece me with an extraordinarily high labor rate for a simple job, absolutely egregious and unacceptable.
They installed a Trane Heat Pump system for me in 2011. It came with a 4 year warranty. Had they signed me up for the extended warranty, which was free from Trane, that warranty would have been extended to 8 years. They didn't sign me up, or even alert me to the need. Nor, was there anything in the paperwork that alerted me. At the 5 year point, the coils on this system developed a leak. The coils cost over $3,400 to replace.
Finally, they installed a system humidifier for me. They didn't advise or install a filter system on the water-line. The evaporating water left a hard, flaky mineral deposit behind that was thrown into the coils, clogging up the coils, destroying the efficiency of the system. It was an ill-planned , ill-positioned installation that created numerous problems and wasted time and money to resolve. After a year of use, I turned the system off.
Their labor rates are excessive. They don't look after the customer's best interest on warranty issues. And they did sloppy work for me. So, my 1 star recommendation should be readily understandable. I'm only sorry it could not have been ZERO stars.
Addendum: Two years after they posted, I am just now seeing the company's response to my review. Their response contains a number of lies ...
1. I made no request that Raleigh Heating and Air do work for free. I made no threats about bad reviews. NONE
2. There was no self diagnostic here. Regular maintenance of the system they installed in 2011, by a company other than Raleigh Heating and Air, identified the need to add refrigerant in 2015, and again in 2017.... alerting me to a refrigerant leak in the system.
3. Their details about the warranty are wrong. TRANE informed me that Raleigh Heating and Air failed to register the unit for warranty. And, if they had done so, TRANE would have extended the parts warranty from 4 to 8 years. Every reputable HVAC company will register a customer's unit for warranty coverage upon installation, and not leave those details to the customer. At the very least, they failed to inform me of the need to register to extend the warranty, and there was nothing in the paperwork provided with the install that alerted me to this need either.
4. The issue of the $400 an hour labor rate for inducer motor replacement stands. I paid Raleigh Heating and Air to come out and diagnose a problem I was having with a Bryant unit at my home (a different unit than the one they installed in 2011). They quoted me a rate that worked out to at least $400 an hour for labor, if not significantly more. How they justify $400 an hour is beyond common sense.
And after the LIES in their response, I should be even more aggressive and go after them legally. This company failed me, miserably, in both installation of a new system(s), and repair of an existing system.
I WILL NEVER AGAIN DO BUSINESS WITH RALEIGH HEATING AND AIR.
After about a week of intermittent heat, Raleigh Heating came the day after I called, diagnosed the problem as control panel, located and ordered the part. The part arrived the day before the expected date. Because my husband was in the hospital and could not return to a cold house, the company sent a man to UPS to pick up the part and come to my home to install it. Ah, blessed heat.

Having to replace and overhaul an old HVAC unit in a rental property that had been phased out years ago, and unexpectedly giving out during the heat of the summer, the guys over at Raleigh Heating & Air came through, big time. Not only did they come out and give the best estimates, they workmanship and cleanliness of the installers and customer service (hats off to Chris B.) was far superior to those of the competition, over the last 35 years. Give them a call, it's definitely worth your time.
This is a nice place to go if your AC is broken and you want it fixed in several days.

Just finished up a new geothermal install in our house to replace propane. Raleigh H&A came in with the best price and were the most knowledgeable in their sales and design of the system compared to others who quoted our system. Peter did a great job answering all my questions, and the main installer Brian obviously has a lot of experience with geo. Working with their driller (Boyette) was a pleasure as well, great fun to watch the wells being drilled (although it was really messy!). Will definitely recommend to friends who need any HVAC work, looking forward to seeing some far lower heating bills this winter!

We have used RH&A for several years and I have completely satisfied with their work and their technicians who service our system.
We hired Raleigh Heating & Air to replace an air conditioner at one of our rental properties. The unit they replaced it with was damaged during install, and was not installed properly. When we called to complain the company sent someone out and inspected it and apologized, and replaced the unit with a new (better) one, hired a painter to paint a wall that was damaged and gave us a discount on the overall price with sincere apologies. They told us they had terminated one of the employees who did the first install and the other was receiving disciplinary action. Even though our initial experience was not positive, I was happy they were able to rectify the situation and make things right for us.
The professionalism and details of what and why they would do what they recommended were enough to persuade me to feel comfortable to go with Raleigh Heating & Air.

Raleigh Heating & Air has provided my HVAC service for over 10 years at 2 different homes, 1 in Cary and now in Durham. Their team is courteous, prompt and technically very good. Their prices are competitive as well.
I would only mention that if they recommend a repair or part replacement, and you do not chose to go forward that day, there is a $50 fee for the return visit in addition to parts and labor. This is not unreasonable, however I don't recall ever being told this - it may be on their invoice but I did not notice. I suggest it be clearly stated by the technician. Other than that, I have give Raleigh Heating & Air very high marks and would recommend their services to anyone.

My experience with Raleigh Heating & Air has been very positive. Dan responded quickly to my inquiry on Memorial Day and Nate arrived that day to get my unit cooling again. It needed additional work due to a faulty coil and they were prompt to schedule and return to do the work 2 days later. Nate arrived within the time promised and called me prior to arriving. What I appreciate most is that both Dan and Nate were very polite, responsive, transparent about the situation that was diagnosed, and clearly explained my options and the costs involved. They looked for ways to save me money. I've worked with other A/C companies in town and Raleigh Heating & Air far exceeds their level of service and skill.

I called Raleigh Heating & Air because my Nest thermostat needed a Common wire. Their customer service folks were amazing and scheduled an appointment the next day for the late afternoon. I received a call a couple hours later and they informed me they had an earlier opening that day if I would like to reschedule, which I did. They sent a gentleman named Torrie to take care of my issue, and he did so in a timely and efficient manner. He pointed out that there were a couple of issues with my unit that may cause some trouble in the near future, so I asked that he do the winter maintenance check. He signed me up for their maintenance program which includes winter and spring/summer checkup. The gas lines on my unit were a bit rusty and he informed me that using a rust resistant spray paint would help keep them from gaining further rust. I scheduled an appointment to have one of their representatives come out to quote a new system install as we are planning on upgrading our old system in the near future. One of the main reason's I decided to do that was because of the in-depth explanation that Torrie gave me on the current state of my system. Today I spent about an hour with a Comfort Consultant by the name of Justin Wahrenburg. He was extremely professional and talked me through all of the options for my home. The information that I was given will make it extremely easy to set up a new unit install when the time comes. The day this current system gives out, I will immediately call Justin at Raleigh Heating and Air to schedule the install. I cannot say enough about Raleigh Heating and Air and their professionalism. I highly recommend Raleigh Heating & Air. I will be telling my family and friends to go to them for their heating/air needs.
My split system AC was not cooling in my bonus room--called
RHA--techs were here in a couple of hours--quicker than I anticipated--they checked things out--replaced a damper control gadget--checked the system for proper pressures, etc. and were complete in about an hour. Times approximate. Courteous, helpful explanation, no problems.
Great, timely experience when one of the motors on my heatpack went during some of the coldest days of the month. The tech promptly diagnosed this issue, tested to confirm, then located and installed the parts same-day. He was friendly and professional, going so far as to show and explain what was going on. We've scheduled RH&A to do our bi-annual checkups as well. Will leave feedback if anything changes!

Requested a tune up from another company and never heard back, Raleigh Heating and Air not only got back to me, but that read my request and called after 3pm ... which is awesome for the day sleeper. Everything was explained over the phone and I got a reminder call before the appt.
My tech was Dave H ... highly profressional and knowledgible. He explained everything that he was doing and why. Looked over the heatpump and air handler. Made some DIY suggestions ... which I loved. The experience was just over an hour.

Robert knows his stuff. Like a dog with a bone he problem solved, identified, and even came back a week later to ensure quality service. My downstairs heat went off during the night so I called first thing in the morning. I was immediately scheduled at a time before noon. The rep. was very courteous. The tech. called before coming. He was great and even took pictures of the work he did for me so I could understand more clearly. Couldn't have asked for a better experience. I've been with Raleigh Heating and Air since 1989 and have had nothing but excellent service. My tech even gave my dog a treat before leaving.
There was an issue from the original repair work (blower motor and squirrel cage replacement). Raleigh Heating and Air listened returned to my home and got it right!
Solid company so I decided to opt into their maintenance program although it was summer, the representative told me to wait until September. When called to make the appt all my information was in the system. Even with rescheduling changes it was a breeze. The service pro was respectful, clean and very knowledgeable.

We went to flip the switch from heat to cool only to find the air conditioner wouldn't come on. Found Raleigh Heating & Air had great reviews on Google and gave them a call around 9am they had a tech ther around 12:30.
They sent Walter B in less than 10 minutes
he'd diagnosed the problem and had the air going. More importantly he discovered that the previous installer (Family Appliance Svc) had done a horrible job installing the unit 5 months earlier....and told us what
our options were to get it done properly to extend the life of our less than 6 month old new unit.

RH&A provide prompt, reliable, and thorough service. The most recent call I've had by them was a twice a year maintenance call that I have purchased from them to ensure that my system is running smoothly. It's a very reasonable cost. RH&A provided me email and text notices a day or 2 prior to the visit and the morning of the visit. The tech called me as he was on the way and he arrived on time. He was extremely courteous and worked as quickly but thoroughly as possible enabling me to get to work in the time I had estimated. His review of the work after completion was thorough and understandable.

Justin and his HVAC team were great. I think HVAC replacement is one of the more costly repairs a homeowner can have but it was great having Justin there to answer all of our questions and schedule our installation two days later. No issues with the new system and they are sending out an HVAC inspector this week to make sure the unit is functioning as it should. Definitely recommend Raleigh Heating and Air!

Raleigh Heating & Air has continually provided top notch service. I've been using them for bi-annual maintenance for several years and I appreciate their professionalism and courteousness. The other day, Adam A. came out for service and he was very thorough and explained in detail the state of my A/C units. Although one of my units is on its last leg, he did not push the purchase of a new one. I appreciate this a lot when dealing with companies. Once again, I had an all-around great experience!

Walter and the folks at at Air Experts (previous Raleigh Heating and Air?) are a top notch organization based on my first experience with them (certainly not my last). I called them for a second opinion from a diagnosis of a potential carbon monoxide (CO) leak from my heat exchanger on a 7 year old Trane from my previous HVAC company. The previous company 'red tagged' my system, shut it down and presented me a quote for replacement that was well over twice the standard replacement cost. Walter applied his experience, analysis and common sense and quickly determined no present danger of CO, in fact at the exhaust of the furnace CO was 18 ppm and you start getting concerned at over 1000 ppm. So, no issue, no concern for panic. I have three CO monitors in the house, none of which has 'beeped' a warning.
It is so refreshing to find a technician like Walter and the company he represents with a combination of ethics and experience.
After hours service call by Kevin saved the day! With weekend company arriving in a matter of hours the A/C goes out - panic city. Fortunately this great company was able to help, Kevin immediately found and fixed the problem and even had a dog treat with him for Jake! Will never call any other company for heating or A/C - these folks are tops!

When they only came to service my unit under the contract I had, everything was in perfect condition. Then I had a technician contacts in the unit replaced. He said the cost would be $295, and that included my service contract discount. He NEVER told me the price of the parts and said I needed them or the heat strips would stop working. I watched him replace the parts and in took him a total of 10 minutes to unscrew 4 screws and replace the contacts. After he left, I checked the price of the parts myself online, for the exact ones he put in, and the only cost $15 each! $15 and 10 minutes cost me $295. I called the owner and her was going to remove the new ones and refund my money. Then ten minutes later, he called me back to say he changed his mind and wasn't going to remove them and refund my money. They never gave me a breakdown in price to let me know the cost of the parts and they completely overcharged me for parts and labor! Then made me feel I would be without heat if I didn't replace them now! I do NOT recommend them and have reported them to the Better Business Bureau for their unethical and unprofessional practices!
On September 24, 2019 I had massive water leakage from a secondary drain. On that same day, I no longer had a leak. The best HVAC guy I have met, Gabriel provided professional, courteous service, provided answers and solutions. Awesome. They are not the cheapest. But if you want it fixed, done right, at a reasonable price. Call them. You will be happy you did!

RHA has combined with another company. We have been with RHA for 22 years. I hope we will have another 22 great years with RHA.
Kevin Rabon arrived as scheduled and completed a tune-up service on our furnace. While he was onsite we asked him to have a look at our outdoor unit as it was making a loud noise at shut down. Kevin quickly identified and corrected this problem under warranty. As a result, we no longer experience that loud noise and could not be happier with Kevin's solution to this problem. We originally choose Raleigh Heating and Air based on their great reviews. Unfortunately, our experience has been a 1 star.
1. They showed up and repaired our system. The got our system up and running and told us we needed a part. They told us that our part and labor was covered and we just had to pay a fee for the coolant and visit. Later that day, they emailed and said I need to pay $1,646 now and “once we file warranty, we will refund you whatever labor costs JCI awards us. Often times the amount refunded will be less than the amount paid. Also, this normally take 6-8 weeks for the refund to happen.” Please remember the theme them telling us different stories each visit.
2. Part came in and they fixed it. They fixed the “Evap coil” which was told was our only issue. AC was cooling and we were relatively happy for about 5 hours. Flash forward to 4:00 PM same day, AC stopped cooling. They came back and said “everything checks out and it just takes 24 to 48 hours to cool. Ok, this sounds reasonable. Next morning, AC is not working at all. Zero cool air and system stopped working.
3. Raleigh Heating and Air came back out. – They told us that now our condenser coil is now leaking! (previously checked 3 times) Interesting, the first 3 visits the condenser was never an issue. Did you miss diagnose our system and you fixed the wrong part? I feel it is too much of a coincidence that a part of the unit that was looked at three times (1. Initially, 2. When part came in for upstairs, 3. When technician came back and did a full evaluation on inside and out.
Now we are asked to pay another $625+ plus in addition to our trip charges and initial cost. Total cost to date is: $1,646, $125, $279 = $2,050. With these payments and what I believe is a miss diagnosis we still do not have working AC as for 11:00 AM on 9/1/2020.
4. We have not had air-conditioning for 7 days, with our house temperature in the 100+ at times. We have a sweet elderly dog that cannot live in those type temperatures. We were forced to leave our house and check into a hotel for several days (at my expense).
5. Today, 7 days of having zero AC they are here to fix our AC. We were greeted with them saying, “before we fix this, you have to sign something saying you will pay us today”. Yes, today we have to pay another $700+ plus for the labor (part if covered under warranty) to put in a part that was checked 3 times and it never had an issue. Maybe they could back out the $279 and the $125 for the “leak check” and trip charge, maybe even hotel expense? The answer was no, you owe us $625+ for labor plus the $2,050 already paid and sign a document that says you will pay us today.
6. Wow, this might be the worse experience of any company I have had in Raleigh in my 7 years living here. I dislike leaving bad reviews and would have not posted or deleted if they worked with us. I just wish they worked with us on cost, based on inconvenience and the most likely misdiagnosis of our system. My advice, please use another provider.

Amazing experience with this company. Our air went out on a 95 degree Sunday, and we called first thing Monday morning. They were out here by 11:30 and fixed everything by 2pm. Kevin helped us fix issues previous technicians caused, and suggested different items for us to install since we're expecting a baby; his knowledge and professionalism were A+ and we greatly appreciated this company for helping us! Lucas R. was our technician today and was very professional. He showed up on time, wore booties in the house, explained everything he was doing, and answered all my questions. Very friendly and personable, he gave me some additional ideas to improve our filtering, both inside and outside. He ended our visit courteously, and even brought two biscuits in to give to our dogs! Quick, easy, professional service from beginning to end, as even the scheduling agent was friendly and accommodating when I had to move the original appointment, a real asset in today's world! Highly recommend this company and their employees!

He came out to service my A/C unit and did a great job. I had a lot of (surely annoying) questions and he took the time to answer each one. He even showed me how he performed some of his temperature readings just because I was curious. He also gave me a lesson on home efficiencies in general. I feel like he definitely went above and beyond what was needed.

TreMont arrived right on time , introduced himself and went about checking out the heating system for the winter season. Lucas, a Raleigh Heating & Air service technician, is yet another example of this company’s excellent choice in representatives. I have met and worked with many and am continually impressed with their professional and knowledgeable approach.
Lucas proved notice he was in route and arrived promptly at the scheduled time. After completing his investigation of the failed system, he presented his findings in a detailed manner. He answered all of my questions and explained the internals of the system around the point of failure. With this imparted knowledge, I was able to make well informed decision on what work should be done.
During the repair of the system, it was noticed that the tape used in the original installation showed signs of wear. Lucas corrected this and provided information on why this type of failure occurs.
Lucas is simply another example of why I continue to do business with this company.

Caution! Price given can be misleading!! Its stated as cost of repair but its for evaluation. So instead of coming ready and doing work, its a price for the evaluation! Also compared prices and with this system you pay more.
** Actual plumbers may be good here but prices given the now corporate structure where you talk only to the sales ruins the integrity and increases the prices.

We worked with Lee on the quote and install of 2 new AC/Heating units. We couldn't have asked for a better experience with Lee, his techs, or the company. Lee was always quick to answer our many questions - reaching out to us at night and on the weekend to make sure we had everything we needed to make an informed decision. Then he was able to fit us in earlier than expected after our old furnace went out during a cold spell in December. When my heating system went down in my house I did not know who to call I did some research on Google and came across Raleigh heating & air . They have very good reviews . Technician Dave Holiday came out and he did not fail to deliver quality service , unbiased advice . He was real professional and polite . When Mr. Holiday determine what the issue was he explained it in detail as well as gave me a root cause . He answered all my questions and was really knowledgeable . Upon completing his work he did a really good job of cleaning up his area . Hey spoke really highly of his company the most important you could tell he has a passion for what he does . At the end of his visit I was really impressed how Mr. Holiday and Raleigh heating and air use iPads . He typed a very detailed report of his visit for the future for him and his fellow technicians . Very Highly recommended. Our furnace stopped working on a very cold Saturday morning. We called, and within an hour a technician was ready to schedule the job. The technician that came out was punctual, knowledgeable, professional, and did a great job explaining all of the processes.
He even let my husband watch the repair, patiently teaching him what everything meant and how the system worked. Would definitely use them again!
I recommend service contracts for new or existing customers who don't have them. Regular inspections and preventive maintenance are performed twice a year to keep heating and cooling systems functioning efficiently and to detect problems early. Service personnel are courteous and work purposefully.

Elizabeth H took our call and had a technician on the way to our house in less than an hour on a Sunday morning. Mike C was very polite and professional and was able to fix our AC in short order. Mike C was very friendly and politely answered my questions as I followed him around during the repair. Mike C was very familiar with my Carrier unit. He had formally worked for the company that installed it only 4 years ago.
I agreed to purchase the annual maintenance program before he left. There was no hard sell to buy it but he did explain the service/benefits and my wife had been talking about getting the unit cleaned regularly anyway. Mike C wore shoe covers every time he came into our house which we appreciated.
Raleigh Heat & Air will be back to check my Heat this winter & again to check my AC next season. The experience was a positive one and they completed the job reasonably and very satisfactorily.

I always like how they can service or fix issues without all the add ons and do what is necessary.
I put in a web request overnight on Friday and had a call back at 8am on Saturday to get details on issue. Not even an hour later a tech was at my house. I can't say enough wonderful things about this company. I had a houseful of out of town company and we discovered the AC did not work the first night after they arrived. Being new to Raleigh I had no idea of who to contact for immediate help. They agreed to come that same day and Kevin arrived earlier than promised. He discovered the problem immediately and did everything needed to correct the problem. He even went beyond the scope of our problem and checked to be sure we would not have further problems anytime soon. He took a lot of time with us and the bill was unbelievably modest. I was very very impressed with this technician’s work, follow-up, dependability, and knowledge. I had to have 2 parts ordered and it meant a lot that the same tech came to install each part when they arrived, since he was very knowledgeable about the problems I was having. That has never happened before with any other company and it made a huge difference since the problems I had were very unique to my house. I was educated by the info this tech shared and feel I am in much better hands going forward. 5 stars!

Mike C. did such a wonderful job when I called to have someone come look at our air conditioning unit that was not cooling our house. I was sure we were in for a new until, but Mike was able to get it working again and save us that cost, he was very diligent to find what was wrong and didn't stop until he got it working. Their arrival window is 2 hrs which makes it easier to schedule things. Spent more time in guiding and explaining the costs. TIP: Ask for estimates upfront, so you don't get surprised on the numbers.

I first called Raleigh Heating And Air back in July. Diane was extremely helpful in figuring out which service we needed. Since we currently were not having any issues she suggested we wait till sept/oct to start the maintence. This would allow us to have the spring checkup on time. I was appreciative that she was looking out for what made sense for us versus trying to just get money out of us. She even called at my appointment time to let me know the tech was on his way. When Torrie (the tech) arrived he introduced himself and immediately put on booties to cover his shoes. He first asked if we had any issues and wanted to see the thermostats and the HVAC unit. It took him about an hour and when he was finished he explained what he found and answered any questions I had. Both Diane and Torrie were great to work with. I even referred Raleigh Heating to my parents.
Friendly Customer Service and Techs. Tech arrived at scheduled time, completed work quickly and explained what was done very clearly. Would recommend to anyone.

This company does provide in-home professionalism and always enjoyed the technicians provide. I had a whole system replaced in 2016 at what was a competitive price. Fast forward to January 2018 and I had inquired to Raleigh Heating & Air if my furnace was an automatic two stage unit with the very cold temperatures. The unit cut off over night for 2 hours. I asked if the unit was accessing the 2nd stage heat and they could not verify my equipment over the phone if we had automatic staging. I was forced to pay a $95 diagnostic fee for a simple yes or no response. Sadly the technician was more helpful than anyone over the phone and could have been resolved easily. I would recommend getting a quote from them for new equipment, but have reservations when it comes to asking for technical questions about your newly installed system.

Vickie was very knowledgeable and helpful. Dave seemed to really know air conditioners and helped me to understand what was happening and the consequences. I was surprised at the charge for freon -- $141 for the first pound and $97 for each additional pound. I can buy freon for $20 a pound and I am told that a contractor can buy it for about $17 a pound. This represents over a 500% markup. How can they justify this?

Amazing, amazing professional and customer service. I have a nightmare of a story regarding another AC company (that I won't get into) but Raleigh Heating & Air came to the rescue. I purchased a home in which they had installed one of our ac units two years ago. We were having some issues, I called them to see if they had any information on the unit. They had DETAILED work notes on every visit they ever completed at the home (on both our ac units) and they sent me all the information. They came out and fixed our issue, so when it was time to purchase a new unit for downstairs, I didn't have to think twice about who we were going to call. They were even a little higher than my other quote for repair on my unit but it isn't worth saving a few dollars to go with a company who doesn't do things the right way or have responsible technicians. Raleigh Heating & Air ROCKS! Installation crew was great! Very professional and courteous. Hats off to the whole team, from the office staff to installers.

Had initial issue with pricing for diagnosing system. Raleigh Heating worked with me and I then gave them the go ahead to replace my defective coil. All is well now.
Called to set up a maintenance appointment well in advance and arrived as scheduled. The work was done in a timely manner and met expectations.
Sean was prompt, very professional, and followed up with me to update me on how my AC system is working. He also suggested a UV light to keep the coil clean in my system which I appreciate. So far everyone I’ve interacted with at Air Experts has provided exceptional service and gone beyond expectations, and I’ll continue my service plan with them and would definitely recommend them!

On one of the hottest days of the year my upstairs unit stopped cooling. I was desperate to get someone out as soon as possible. Initially I called my home warranty company and unfortunately found out that was not covered, so I did a Google search and found Raleigh Heating & Air. The reviews were good, so I called the next morning to try to get a technician out. I was very surprised that, not only did they send someone out the same day but, he was able to diagnose and repair my unit by replacing the capcitor in one trip. I see why the reviews are so good - the service is excellent! I would highly recommend them!

Raleigh Heating and Air was recommended to me by a family member, and I am very glad I had them out. The service pro that came out to my house, David Clark, was very knowledgeable and friendly, and was able to diagnose my issue in just a few minutes. Had a wonderful experience with Tim of Raleigh and Heating this week. We have a new home and were having difficulty with the air not working upstairs but downstairs was fine. Tim came out and determined that the zone board for upstairs was originally installed below another part that sweats and water was dripping onto it and shorted out the board. He came back in just 2 days and replaced the zone board and gave me the good news that the part was covered under a warranty by Honeywell. It still cost us the original service call and then the labor to replace the part but he went further and moved the location of the zone board off to the side so that the same thing wouldn't happen again. Raleigh Heating and are was NOT the original installers of the system for our new house. Tim was so pleasant, curious, and knowledgeable. I highly recommend he and Raleigh Heating and Air!
I'm so happy that I found Raleigh Heating & Air Inc. to replace my HVAC. Prompt customer service: I was able to see a customer representative within 24 hours of my initial call. He was able to offer me the best price quote for a brand new HVAC. Prices were substantially better than ARS which I found to be overpriced. The technicians were prompt and courteous. I'm satisfied.
My HVAC was not functioning properly so I called Raleigh Heating & Air. The receptionist was very polite and they were able to schedule someone to come out on Sunday morning. With temperatures in the single digits the prior week, we definitely appreciated the timely weekend availability. David serviced the visit and was able to find the problem with our system. No pressure with the recommendation and he offered his opinion on the best fix for the unit. Also very nice. After cleaning the unit, heating was restored and we will be using Raleigh Heating & Air for future HVAC service. Thanks guys.

After taking a day off work they didn't show up for my appointment. I called them and they said they had no record of it and asked me if I made an appointment with a different company. Ridicules, they installed my system and when I called for service it was evident they had all my information. Just an attempt to make me feel it was somehow my fault. In my opinion I feel their office is dishonest. I will never deal with them again. I have already found another contractor and the problem is fixed.
Fast and friendly service. Found the problem with my old HVAC unit and repaired it quickly and cheaply the same day.

Walter came out to follow-up on an intermittent problem we had been having with our heat. He arrived on time, did a thorough inspection of our system, tested the system, cleaned some contacts and tightened some connections and tested the unit several more times to verify it was working properly. He took the time to thoroughly explain what he suspected the problem to be and the steps he'd take if his visit that day didn't fix the problem. Very please with the service (as usual).

Torrie Jones just did our HVAC Spring Maintenance. He did a great job. Called to let us know when he would arrive, didn’t make a mess and informed me as to the condition of the systems, all with a pleasant, friendly and professional manner.

the folks all seemed nice. however....they were here for 8 hours. they didn't have everything they needed...and kept having to get someone to bring them something. they also gave me a gift card they said I could use to pay my bill with as I financed it and the bank it was financed through said they could not use that card to pay my bill. Beside the issue of a failing heat pump heat and cooling system, Lucas and Dan were able to diagnose the problem and initiated steps to get the job done. Both men were courteous (even dealing with me), neat and thorough. (part 1)
The next review (part 2) will include a 1 week+ wait for repair parts before the unit can be repaired. It will dip to the lower 20's again, so Emergency Heat and firewood will keep pipes from freezing.
Now its May, 2016. Installation of parts went flawlessly. Everything is working properly. I am a satisfied customer yet again!
Feb., 2018. I was alarmed that our heating bill had doubled from the previous year. I made a service call, then Elizabeth and Dave set up a prompt appt. and checked that my HVAC system was in good working order. Good Job!
Aug., 2018. Steven from RH&A, Inc came over (on time) to perform a scheduled maintenance. He found and replaced a failing component saving a future cost and HVAC disruption. Good Work!
Kevin was very helpful explaining everything as well as quick to get back to us with all estimates, etc. Dewayne and Scott, the service technicians who actually installed the new unit were prompt, efficient, professional and very patient in answering all of our questions. We would highly recommend them to anyone needing service or installation.

it all depends on technician you get. I do have them for my maintenance service at my home. But last week, I asked for their service at my renta, wrong diagnostic, wrong service. When I called back to say AC still didn't work, suggestion given was another tech visit for more diagonostic for 200$s. So we called another reputed company.. within 15 minutues guy told us the problem was Thermostat tripping zone and not starting the AC at all! I have my entire AC unit replace by Raleigh Heating and Air/Air experts and I have mainteannce plan with them. Now its making me question the entire service.. trust is broken!
I found Raleigh Heating & Air via a coupon book and called them to take advantage of a promotional price on a maintenance check and tune up for heating and cooling systems. Booking over the phone was easy, and the technician came over the very next day during the agreed upon time window to introduce himself and ask how he could help. The technician was courteous and efficient, and took care of my 2 A/C units and 2 furnaces in short order, making sure to tell me about his progress and observations along the way. In the end he also saved me on the total cost of the work by letting me know of a different service plan they had available. All in all, I had a great experience with Raleigh Heating & Air, and I will call them again next year!

We have been using Raleigh Heating and Air since we moved into our home in January. The service has been exceptional and it was no different this time. Our technician, Kevin, arrived promptly at the designated time. He did a thorough check of our units (our upstairs unit wasn't blowing cold air the previous night and the temperature was at 81 degrees until late at night when it finally cooled off outside). He tracked the problem down quickly to the load management device that had been installed and hooked up to our units. Because of the load management device and the extreme heat of the day, our A/C wasn't running long enough to cool the upstairs off before it was being shut off by the load management device. His advice was to disconnect the device because the savings was very minimal. He was able to do that and we haven't had a problem since!! And one of our previous techs even called to make sure everything was working properly - now that is customer service at it's best!!!! Thanks guys!!

Tech Mike C was very polite as he answered questions to my satisfaction.
We have been real happy with our service. They call ahead of time, and give you about a 30 minute heads up before they arrive. They are professional and even wear shoe covers so your floor doesn't get dirty. Our house has been so much cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter.
David H. was extremely helpful and efficient during our HVAC outage on Sunday. He called ahead of time and was honest about the parts and leaks. He answered our questions and was very professional. David H. gets five stars.
They were the second company I called to resolve our issue and the technician nailed the issue right away. Got our heat back on in a few minutes. Excellent service from service technician Tim.

The person who came to our home for service was professional, smart and friendly. I really appreciate all things that he had done.
We have a service contract and when they came to do our annual check on our unit they found issues. They then charged us a service call to fix the issues. A few days later the temperature dropped and there was no heat. It was late on a Friday at this point so I waited until the next day to call but the problem corrected itself. A month later the temperature dropped again and we had no heat. Four phone calls later we were told we might have a technician out to our house by the next day but they couldn't say for sure. When the technician arrived 30 hours later he had an unapologetic tone and said they were supposed to check something after the last call but didn't and the heat was out because they hooked something up wrong. He blamed it on too many people living in my house even though I am the only one who adjusts the thermostats. The service was covered since it was their mistake but, seeing as I am pregnant with twins and trying to stay healthy in 20 degree weather, an apology would have been nice at some point.
Kevin was informative, knowledgeable, professional, punctual, and efficient. I could not have asked for a better experience or a better technician. I would highly recommend his services in the future. 10/10.

They do what ever they can to get you scheduled as soon as possible while working within your schedule. I would highly recommend these folks if your need service or a new unit installed. I have a home warranty, but after two very shifty visits from a different HVAC company, I called Raleigh Heating and Air. The problem was a frayed wire in a switch. He was in and out in no time! I also signed up for the preventative maintenance package while he was at my house since my heater is older.
Have used these guys for several jobs before. Always very professional. They give several options and let me decide on how to move forward -- no pressure to take the most expensive gig. These guys are on my short list now.
Kevin came on time to do the maintenance work on our heating system. He did a very thorough job. We started using Raleigh Heating and Air recently and we are very pleased with their work. We would recommend them to our friends and neighbors.
Josef arrived on time and was very polite. He was very thorough and explained everything he was doing when he performed the maintenance visit on my gas furnace. These guys are fantastic. I have the HVAC maintenance plan, which is paid once per year and covers routine maintenance of my AC and furnace. I was late to schedule the furnace maintenance, as they were able to fit me in the day I called (a day with super cold temps!). Highly recommend.

I couldn't have had a better experience with Raleigh Heating and Air. Dave came out and confirmed the fact that I needed a whole new system (which I pretty much knew), then Cody came out and did a great job of giving me a quote and answering all my questions. Then, the installation team came. They were very punctual, knowledgeable, polite, helpful, friendly, and neat. All in all, they were done in a days time, and Cody had been here just the day before, so everything was done in just two days. Their moms would have been proud at how well they cleaned up after themselves, and they even put some mulch around the outdoor unit, so it looks really nice. Plus, you can't beat their 10 year warranty on parts and labor! Wow! What a deal. Thanks guys!!

Very professional group. Showed up on time. Work was thorough and clean installing a new AC and Heating system. Their cost was considerably less than other company's estimate. After an initial problem that caused water to accumulate in overflow pan, they showed up late afternoon on a Saturday within two hours of call in middle of busy season to fix the problem. Everyone in their group, from salespeople to installers to phone receptionists, seems professional, knowledgeable, and polite. Would recommend with no hesitations.
Charged me 18k to replace air conditioner with zoning. Did NOT fix my problem. Have asked for itemized bills multiple times as well as explanations why putting a new 4 ton top of the line Lennox unit has not fixed my problem. Electric bills higher than ever. Absolutely disgusted with Patrick and the rest of the office. Feel completely taken advantage of.
Dave was amazing. Very knowledgeable, and gave helpful tips on preventative maintenance. I would only want him to return if we need service. They will be coming out to give us quotes on new systems, so I will be reviewing that process as well.

Always have good experiences with Raleigh Heating & Air. Recently worked with Diane F on phone to arrange service for AC shut down. Phillip B came the next day and replaced a capacitor that had quit, and in no time had my AC up and running. Heat so bad really need this quick fit. Have asthma and was considering going to a hotel for relief. Didn't need to do that after repair. Originally purchased HVAC from RH&A and have since always used them only for my system.
These guys are the top! Simple, straight to the point, not complicated and really accommodating. Their prices are reasonable. I had my Trane system installed by them (heat pump and blower) 7 years ago as per their advice. This year I needed a small repair (motor controller) and H&Air was quick on the call. I would really recommend these guys.

$13,500 system replacement by an very unprofessional install crew, I had high expectations for this company after all the research I had completed. We signed this contract based on the reviews online, and the presentation by the salesperson, Kevin, who seemed to be both knowledgeable and sincere.
Turns out, the review process itself is not reliable..at all. I wrote an in-depth, negative review on Yelp, including a copy of the invoice to prove that it was a real customer review. Seems that someone flagged my review to have it removed. Another Yelp user told me that Yelp would filter reviews made by people unless they had a large number of reviews and Yelp Friends. Then I take another look at Raleigh Heating & Air on Yelp, only to see a Bunch of vague/generic, 5-Star Reviews, made by people with only 1-3 reviews, and 0 friends! Kind of makes you scratch you head if you know what I mean.

I have worked with Raleigh Heating and Air for over 10 years and received nothing less than A+ service. I recently had an A/C unit go out and RH&A did not disappointed on the install. The install tech's were professional and very knowledgeable. They finished the job ahead of schedule and without issue. Sometimes when the unexpected happens, people (and businesses) show their true colors. A hiccup in an otherwise routine HVAC installation offered a perspective on Raleigh Heating and Air's business values. Due to some confusion in finding my home, work started much later than expected. Despite this, and despite my insistence that the men, who had been working nonstop without so much as a lunch break, could come back another day, they stayed late into a Friday evening to deliver on their promise: installing a new HVAC. And not only did they keep their promise, but they upgraded the system, at their cost, because that was what they had in stock. I originally chose Raleigh Heating and Air because of their price point and salesmanship, but would strongly recommend them because of their excellent values and customer service. They truly went above and beyond expectations. When incurring such an expense on home maintenance, I am fortunate to have landed with a company with the honesty, work ethic, and integrity of Raleigh Heating and Air. By all means do your HVAC research, but keep in mind the qualities, often difficult to quantify, that matter most.

I am extremely impressed by the customer service that Raleigh Heating and Air offers! From the initial phone call, to the quote process, and to the installation process, everything is seamless and quick. Lee is fantastic and came to my house the same day I called to get us a quote for the HVAC system. He really took the time to explain all my options and really helped to meet my financial expectations in this crazy economy. Installation day was fast and the installation team was friendly, helpful and efficient. They even mailed a thank you card to our house after the installation and you just don't see quality customer service like this any more. I am so happy I called them.
Service is very friendly and professional. I am on an annual contract that includes a spring checkup for the A/C and a fall checkup for the heat. Both the ladies scheduling the appointments and the technicians that come out to do the work are always friendly, can answer all my questions and do not try to upsell me any extra products or services.
Lucas called approx. 20 minuets before arrival. Lucas and Matt S. inspected the unit for other potential problems then informed me that the part was available at a Clayton location. I agreed to the repair price and they immediately went and retrieved the part. they returned and installed the motor assembly in 15 to 20 minuets.
I could not ask for more from a service.
Torrie J. did an outstanding job identifying and fixing the problem with the A/C coil leak, and avoid a costly system replacement. I will recommend him and the Company to anybody in my network who needs service.

I do not really write any negative review to any one unless it gets to my nerves and i hate liars.I have some rental property in town, had some issue with my cooling system HVAC and wasnt cooling home enough during hot summer days. My tenant called me that its too hot to stay at home and i did some online research,found this place, called them to set up an appointment. I stay out of the town most of the week so i asked my tenant wife (her husband is a pretty handy guy too and work for a maintenance company) to allow the maintenance guy from this company to inspect things. Guess what he made a complete fool to me and the my tenants wife giving unrealistic reason and charged me approx $590 since i wanted to fix it and do not want my tenant suffer. later that evening, my tenant ( husband) called me and asked me what did he do, i explained him all the things guy did and charged me $590. He wasnot pleased with my answer. We did end the call hoping that it would fix the problem. We had a same problem after a week, the house started not cooling. so than i called a guy from diff company, he went there and mentioned that it was just a small fix and nothing more wouldnt cost me any money. He even waived the service charge and mentioned to me that if there will be issues again let me know but this should fix it. and he mentioned that the previous company robbed you.

Always very professional, using foot protection when indoors to keep your floors clean; always explain the work performed, and willing to discuss any needed or recommended repairs/upgrades. They never fail to call at least 30 min before arrival.

We are new customers. After three years in our 24 year old house, we needed to replace the original upstairs gas furnace and AC system. During the sales process Cody ran circles around the incumbent company (our provider of 10+ years who replaced two full systems in our prior house). He came promptly, did a proper load calc, presented an array of competitively priced options, and throughout the weekend provided immediate responses to our questions. An installation date was available quickly, and the team on site did a great job. I was very pleased with the entire process and the best HVAC service I have ever experienced. I first met with the Project Manager Roger who was very knowledgeable and explained everything to me so I could understand my purchase. While he was there, he even went above and beyond to change my air filters during my consultation. Within a day, Tyler and his install team came in to do the job and they were very courteous and finished the job within a reasonable time. After inspection, Mitch came out to do one last minute repair and then spent over 30 minutes helping me register and sync my thermostat control with WiFi. He then went over the entire control panel/menu on the thermostat to explain the system and gave pointers for best use. Thanks again to everyone at Raleigh Heating and Air, you did a great job! I will be calling you again!

We were very impressed with Raleigh Heating & Air: responsiveness, courteousness, professionalism, very efficient work and knowledge. Our AC stopped working in a very hot Saturday night. We called to many AC company for emergent services. Raleigh Heating & Air was the first company calling back. The front desk staff was very nice and patient. The onsite diagnosis trip was scheduled immediately. The technician team arrived on time in Sunday morning and the issue was completely checked and suggestion of replacing the damaged unit was give in details. Code Oliver came the afternoon and explained the replacement very clearly, answered questions professionally and gave the proposal. The new unit was ordered quickly. The installation team came on time two days latter and the new unit was installed, tested in few hours. We have comfortable environment again. The technicians explained the use of new thermostat, installed CO detectors to meet new codes, repaired broken PVC pipes and cleaned the working site completely. We are happy to have Raleigh Heating & Air to help us and will use their services in the future. Thank you, Raleigh Heating & Air!

We purchased a new system (inside and out) from Raleigh Heating and Air. We were initially drawn to them for their high reviews and the fact that they service York systems. After 13 visits we were getting tired of paying the $80 service fee. Every time they would come to do routine maintenance/biannual tune up the system would break down within 24 hours. It was terrible. The last call out the tech was especially hostile about being called back out. When we insisted we weren’t paying the service call again they fired us as clients. We called another company out that day, they took one look at the system and said it was programmed wrong. We haven’t had an issue since.
We had managers out who insulted us, rude service guys, nice service guys... all of whom said they just don’t build them like they used to. But it turns out Raleigh Heating and Air just doesn’t know how to program their own systems!

from start to finish these folks are pro's they came out on a weekend to fix our air conditioning and we were SOLD. we scheduled our heat evaluation for winter and the guys and team were prompt, courteous and thorough. as long as we are in Raleigh/Triangle area this is OUR company for heating and cooling.

In 6+ years of having an entire brand new HVAC unit installed by Raleigh Heating and Air, this is the FIRST service call EVER that I have placed. Vickie returned my call within 5-10 minutes and was SUPER courteous! In fact, she diagnosed my issue over the phone...frozen condensation pipe. She suggested I try pouring warm (not boiling) water on the line to thaw it out. I immediately proceeded to follow her advice. Approximately 30 minutes later, I received a call from the On-Call Tech stating he would be arriving at my house in under 15 minutes...and he was absolutely on-time! Vickie's diagnosis was correct...frozen condensation pipe had shut down my entire unit. The Tech cut the pipe between the frozen and not frozen sections of pipe and sure enough, the unit started!!! He was the NICEST guy, too! I'm not sure I would have been so pleasant working outside, crawling under people's houses with the 7 degree temps outside if I was the tech! But he was absolutely wonderful!!! I have ALWAYS had nothing but wonderful things to say about everyone at Raleigh Heating and Air...from my initial installation of my entire replacement unit and duct work to my Spring/Fall HVAC service checks I renew EVERY year.....and I highly recommend those, too. If you never need to use it...wonderful! But, all it takes is that ONE time and you will wish you had! LOVE Raleigh Heating and Air! Will continue to recommend them for ALL of your HVAC service needs! Keep up the GREAT work guys...oops..and gals!!!!!!!

My husband and I just had a huge duct work job done yesterday. Justin, the sales installer, was very informative and extremely helpful. He made us feel very comfortable about the job and the people that worked for Raleigh Heating & Air. What caught my attention was when he said My job is to inform you of everything going on down there, regardless of what your final decision is. David, who was the lead installer for our house, was phenomenal. The guy that did the job with David was very nice and polite. (I forgot his name 🙄). Very precise, and also very informative. Had a capacitor breakdown on my AC unit (13 years old) on Saturday morning when I knew it was going to be 100 degrees. Bummer! Call for help and got right through to Elizabeth who took my information and let me know about scheduling options. I needed help right away, so was added to the list (I'm sure it was long...). Josef called me back and was on site by about 1PM. Did a great job repairing the unit from parts on-hand and checking the function. We found that the outside filter on the compressor unit was very dirty and Josef cleaned it out - bringing everything back into line. Great experience.

I have been working with them for years on installation and maintenance. Let me just say that I love them, always professional, courteous, and knowledgeable.
Kevin came to my home and was very professional in checking my system for the bi-annual inspection. He came in and explained what he would be checking for in the attic where the furnace was located and then he continued to the air conditioning unit outside. He reported that the system was running as it should with no issues.
I would recommend Raleigh Heating & Air for a new or replacement system, and for service after the sale.
Called when my heat went out overnight and they responded immediately the next morning. The technician came out and was very polite and professional. He diagnosed the problem quickly, gave me a instant estimate for repair and had my heat going in about an hour. I would highly recommend this company for any future work. Update: See below for the original issue I had with this company. Two days ago the manager, Brian, called me to see what happened. I explained it all and mentioned that I hired another company that was coming to do $1600 worth of work at my house this week. Brian then apparently called our town inspection department to report that work was being done at my house because an inspector showed up to make sure the work was permitted. So since Raleigh Heating and Air cannot earn their own business with solid practices, they attempted to cause trouble for the company I did hire. Seriously reconsider hiring this cutthroat, dishonest company!!! Call Biggs instead. They are honest, hardworking guys who do a great job at honest prices.
I'm sure these guys do a great job. Here's the problem I had: we had a list of HVAC issues so they sent a senior tech (Buddy) who I liked. He seemed like a pretty honest, straight-forward guy. I paid him $150 to diagnose the problems, but Buddy couldn't quote pricing so then Cody came out. I could tell pretty much right away that he was the slick sales end of this deal. His prices were exhorbitant compared to other quotes I had. I mean $8,000 to do a $4,000 job exhorbitant. Just to be sure, I had yet another reputable company out today and they confirmed that the lower quotes I received prior to trying Raleigh Heating and Air were correct. There's no doubt that Raleigh Heating and Air will do a good job. The question is, are you willing to pay twice as much for it? I sure as hell wasn't. There are other reputable companies in Raleigh with honest prices. This company felt to me like one big sleezy sales pitch. One caveat: I would have hired Buddy directly. Maybe he should open his own HVAC company and charge the real rates.

Raleigh Heating and Air has been my HVAC company for several years. I've had good luck with them so far. Yesterday our upstairs air went out in the afternoon. I called Raleigh Heating and Air. Initially the weren't able to dispatch a tech until the next day but after I described my problem, the changed up their schedule and got a tech out to our house within a few hours. Fortunately it was a quick and easy fix (capacitor...duh) and I was back in action in no time. Thanks!!

Raleigh Heating & Air did an excellent job of installing our new heat pump. The work was done professionally and all appointments were on time. Both the sales team and the installers were polite, knowledgeable, and approachable for any questions or issues about our new system. We have done business with RHA for over 10 years and would refer them without reservation.
The technician (Nick) was polite and courteous, as was everyone I contacted in the business.
They did charge over $400 ($395 for the replacement with a $59 service fee) to replace a single condensate pump. Which seems high.

This is step 1: Make an appointment. Result: wrong appointment date. The lady on the phone, Kate, was very nice and I made an appointment for 9am Friday. I get an email notification that my appointment is for 9am Thursday....not good that in Step 1 they already messed up.
Very unhappy right now.... Our unit is only 4 years old. It stopped completely Saturday. RH&A sent someone out on Sunday - took all of 10 minutes to diagnose bad fan motor, said part would need to be ordered Monday, hopefully get there Tuesday, would only take an hour to install. It is now Thursday evening, still no word on part. I have called 3 times - basically only to hear part has been ordered, hope to get it soon. This is a full warranty call, so I am assuming the jobs that are paying money are being put at a higher priority. I will never buy anything else from them.

The technician who was supposed to service our home missed his appointment because he didn't call the number we gave him when we scheduled our appointment. Apparently they rescheduled our appointment without telling us because I received a call later that day saying a technician was coming over. When I told the person calling me I wasn't going to be home because nobody notified me of the reschedule he got defensive and never took ownership or apologized for the mixup. Overall the interaction was unprofessional and uncomfortable. I would not work with th this company again.

After our air conditioner went out, we called Raleigh Heating & Air and they were available that day to come out. They were helpful on the phone making sure I had the unit turned off before they arrived, and then they were even more helpful when they arrived. Dave explained everything he did and showed me what to look for so if the problem were to ever happen again I'd know how to fix it myself. I'd definitely recommend them!

These guys are professional and do good work.
Came over in short turnover time for a quote. Proceed lower than area competitors plus a free Wi-Fi thurmostat. While doing the quote, sales knocked off the furnace door and the tech came to fix it while sales was still here. They installed with short turnover time. They vacuumed where they were walking. And they installed two CO2 detectors for free. Per code we only need one, but the gentleman said it's good to have one any place there's a gas appliance.

New home needed a new HVAC sooner than later, Was lucky enough to have Justin Wahrenburg come out to answer all our questions, help us understand how everything works, and give us several options that work for our family. Never felt pressured and had the option to do an installment billing plan similar to cell phones that allowed us to get the new HVAC right away. It was an absolute pleasure dealing with Justin and much to our surprise the installer, Sean (sp) was just as professional and walked us through everything he did as well as the hows any whys. You can tell this company has very high standards of excellence and it is apparent in their people and what makes them stand apart from the rest. HVAC needs can be scary for homeowners, looking forward to future interactions with this company. HIGHLY RECCOMMEND!

Our experiences with Raleigh Heating and Air have always been excellent.
Our most recent experience was the complete replacement of the HVAC systems for both floors. This job was completed in one day under oppressive outdoor and attic temperatures.
I remember thinking when Dewayne introduced himself to me that he radiated confidence, professionalism and expertise. I was right!!! His assistant Tay was friendly and all business. He appeared to be the person in the team that made sure that all preparations were made in a timely manner. They were!
Jason arrived later in the morning, He enhanced the team's precision. He also provided the necessary skills to make getting the job done in one day possible. You could tell that he also had the unquestionable skills to get the job done. All three of these gentlemen can work at our house anytime,
I would be remiss if i did not mention Paula. She's great! She was the person behind the scenes that that kept the ball rolling. Very professional. I have always believed that the person who answers the phone creates the first and lasting impression of a public or private entity. To the people at RHA, you have nothing to worry about with Paula. She is a consummate professional. By the way, Paula has a great sense of humor.
Kevin, who was our first contact for this project, came to our home to go over options. He was convincing and knew his products some much so that we felt confident to take his recommendations while not needing to search out other proposals. That's the mark of a good sales person.
Riggs did such an awesome job. He was so pleasant to be around. Was nice to my daughter (who was up his butt, in the attic and everything) and was even nice with the neighbors little kids.
Riggs was very knowledgeable and helpful, explained everything to me. I really appreciated his time and attention.
Called for a new system install and the technicians installed within the same week. Very fast and courteous service!

Very professional and nice. The technician was very helpful and fixed my problem very quickly. He did recommend that I upgrade my unit (the current one is 22 years old) but was not pushy at all when I told him I wasn't ready to do that right now.
I had my system installed yesterday . So far the shopping and buying experience with Raleigh and Air has been very positive . The salesperson Cody was very good to work with and very responsive to my questions and concerns . The only slight glitch is that I didnt realize that it would take Duke a month or so to get a rebate check back to me . The crew was also extremely professional to work with . The were well prepared and took great care in my home. They worked hard all day .I work in a similar business and Raleigh Heating and Air would serve as a great role model for other companies .

They came quickly, thoroughly explained the problem, and gave me all of the options with pricing to fix it. Chris was the technician and did a fabulous job!
Dave was the technician for our maintenance visit. He took his time and checked everything then explained it to me in language that made sense. I also appreciate the invoice including everything Dave told me verbally.
Excellent service, seamless process. Appreciate they upgrade everything they touch up to code. Their attention to detail and flexibility was great. I'm moving and plan on using them for our next place.
Tech (Tim) arrived at scheduled time. Inspected both units, took pictures, cleaned outside units, explained all that was found. Emphasized no issues but recommended certain maintenance. Very informative. Will be signing up on their program

Steven Nordan was an extremely knowledgeable, thorough and professional technician. It was by far my best experience with an HVAC technician/company since I have been a homeowner.
Tim went above and beyond to reattach a fallen flexible duct from our upstairs, especially given that I hadn't cut the access hole in the wall high enough. He got it done, and we couldn't be happier to have air upstairs again!

Raleigh Heating and Air replaced my HVAC in June 2016. The cooling system seemed to work fine, but the heating system struggled to maintain inside temps above 67 degrees when the outside temp dipped below 25. The lower the temp outside, the lower the temp inside. This was explained to me as being normal by Raleigh Heating and Air with the explanation that heat pumps are not designed to work that well in cold temps. I don’t buy it. Fast forward to NOV 2019 (2.5 years after install) and the blower motor goes out, a fuse is blown, and there is a leak in the refrigerant line. They covered the cost of the blower motor repair after I complained a great deal. I paid for the refrigerant and fuse. Ok. Fast forward again to yesterday when we tried to install a smart thermostat and after following the pretty simple instructions found that there was no power to the thermostat. Original thermostat was battery powered. We called RALEIGH Heating and Air and the technicians determined that there is not sufficient voltage to the common line “c” to operate the smart thermostat and *something* in the unit is running really hot, *might* be the transformer. We are told they can repair an apparent short / C wire but can’t guarantee it will fix the issue and oh, we might need to replace the transformer. All questions about a systemic voltage issue from the time of install are dodged (could be anything that caused it, it’s the unit not the install, we used existing wiring...). So, after many good faith attempts to use RALEIGH Heating and Air my assessment is if you want a company that will fix each issue as it arises and nickel and dime you / drag you along for years, this is the company for you. If you want a company to be able to diagnose and take ownership of the workmanship in your HVAC system as a whole, look elsewhere. Technicians were otherwise sufficiently professional and response time was good.
**Update**
The response below is also highly unsatisfying and another example of how the company will use any excuse to ensure they don't take accountability for the workmanship of their installs and subsequent problems. As expected, and no, I will not be calling you again.

Amazing job! Knew what problem was immediately and fixed it quickly. Helped explain what happened and what they had to do to fix it.
The service technician, Lucas Rosenstrauch, was extremely patient about an overview of our HVAC unit, and the electrical service issues we were having. He explained to us our options and let us choose the best method to approach a solution. We value a company in which patience and customer service is instilled in and demonstrated by the service technicians. Way to go Raleigh Heating & Air!!!!

Great company. I'm very pleased the way they do business and treat the customer.
Courteous and professional service.
First let me say that I thought they were good after the first visit. The first guy came on day 1 and said we had a damper issue and replaced the damper motor. The problem was it was more than that. That same day about 8pm the AC went out again and it was 80some degrees in the house that night. Thats where the service got bad.
Day 2, the guy didn't get there until like 3pm. I assumed since we were seen the day before and something was still wrong they would have came out earlier. Nope. Just put us to the back of the line. This guys comes in and cant find an issue because the AC seemed to be working OK by the time he got there. My wife took his excuse that he couldn't find anything and he left. By 5:30 the AC was blowing hot again. I called them back and said its not working again and they said someone would come TOMORROW. How you could leave a house that the AC wasn't working all night and not find the issue is crazy. Did we just make this up?
Day3
I assumed since we called the day before that we would AGAIN be top priority or close to the start of the day. Not to mention this was the THIRD DAY. They did not arrive until 3pm AGAIN. The guy on the phone was a little rude, but since I had already paid on day 1 I had to stay calm and accept whatever he said or I would have been stuck calling someone else and getting another diagnostic fee + parts. So the the guy from the first day shows. He nice enough about the situation, but that doesn't change the facts. He finally found the issue and fixed it. Been working since. said there wouldn't be another diagnostic fee, just parts. No $@##
So they eventually fixed it, but the reason for the bad review it that they didn't do homework the first 2 days out. If you see one problem your suppose to check the other parts just in case. The 2nd guy that dealt with my wife seems to just gloss over the check and really did nothing because on day 3 the guy found it in less than 30 minutes. Very frustrating to be without AC for 3 days in 90 degree heat. Especially when they just missed it.
Mitchell and Scott were very professional and went out of their way to ensure the duct replacement was completed before they left. They arrived before 9 a.m. and could have easily left at 5 or 6 p.m. and returned to finish the next day but Mitch had told us the job would be finished that day and insisted on keeping his word. Both he and Scott worked very diligently and finished the job after 9:30 p.m. We have not seen such dedication to customer satisfaction in a very long time.

Kevin arrived quickly on the same day I called. A/C repair was quick and he gave a very detailed explanation for operating my new thermostat. I was cool again in no time!
No one wants to have their air conditioner break, it is always inconvenient, uncomfortable and expensive. I did however have a good experience with everyone at Raleigh Heating and Air. They scheduled the tech, Torrie to come out right away. Torrie was quick in finding the problems and explaining options to fix it/replace it. He was friendly and sympathetic even though he had been working out in the miserable humidity for hours. I ended up needing a new unit, everyone at RHA helped to make it as painless as it could be.
I am a member of RH&A’s Comfort Club and have been a loyal customer. They are nice guys and prompt, but be careful of their pricing. I was significantly over-charged for the last work they did for me – and I do mean last. I paid for two diagnostic visits (not sure why) and then the charge for actually fixing the problem worked out to be over $300/hr. A part needed replacing that was under warrantee, so the charge was all labor. I ask for an explanation of the high charge but my request was ignored.

Great service from the Raleigh Heating & Air Service Pro Kevin Rabon! Keven and the Raleigh Heating & Air staff are always courteous and professional and provide excellent service, highly recommend.
Josef arrived on time, was very polite, put on a pair of booties and commenced to install the Next thermostat. He was patient, knowlegeable and explained in detail how to use the system once it was installed.
I would highly recommend Raleigh Heating & Air and Josef and will certainly call them with any HVAC issues.

I was with Raleigh Heating and Air for many years and happy. They inspected both my heat pumps twice a year and repaired when needed. A couple years ago the local owners sold the company to Air Experts.
In October my downstairs was inspected the technician found problems including low coolant (R410A). He then told me about expensive repair options and suggested I should consider replacement. He further told me my heat pump was 13 years old and its about at the end of its expected life.
The technician really didn't seem know too much about heat pump control. He told me when the outside temp drops below 36F the heat pump automatically starts the Auxiliary or strip heat when heat is called for. It was 26 this morning. I'm a nerd and know my heat strips weren't needed this morning (I've made lots of improvements to reduce my energy usage). He lost a lot of credibility.
Now back to the coolant leak. A different vendor added coolant and stop leak to my system and it ran great. I don't know how long it will last but its much better to delay the replacement costing well over $8000.
Thanks to Lee Gately for his expert advise. He helped us select the correct system for our needs. His customer service and knowledge are first rate.
Thanks also to Bill, Stephen and Lennon who installed our new system in steaming hot conditions. The install looks great and the house was spotless when they finished.

Riggs came to service our AC unit. He was very professional, answered all of our questions, and fixed a part that needed replacing. We signed up for the yearly heat/AC check with the company while Riggs was here. Their prices are good and they have great customer service.
Staff is very professional and helpful with all my questions. Very easy to work with my schedule and to assist with all my questions. I definitely recommend Raleigh Heating & Air. Great customer service! This company really cares about their customers!!

A competitor of Raleigh Heating and Air had told me that I had a cracked heat exchanger in the heating side of my HVAC system and a leaking coil on the cooling side of my system. I was on the verge of paying thousands of dollars to replace the system. I called Raleigh Heating and Air to get a second opinion. Tim Steed, an awesome service technician, performed a thorough inspection of the entire system, and although it's old and inefficient (10 SEER), he said it was still in great shape. No cracks...no leaks. I will only use Raleigh Heating and Air going forward, as they are professional, HONEST, and friendly.

Excelent same-day response to A/C failure. Technician explained the problem in detail and ordered repair parts. Part was available the next day and repairs were completed and system was tested. Fortunately this repair was completed under warranty.

For being on time and handling communication (automated email reminders) this place does have that down properly. But when it comes to actual work and up selling, that is where I have to knock a couple stars...
Compared to other hvac service contracts I've had, these folks do not seem nearly as thorough but they are quick to point out things that aren't really a problem and upgrades at a cost that is higher than most.
After doing a routine maintenance they left me with a problem that never existed prior (zone was no longer working). The positive is that they did offer to come back later that night but I was able to avoid it and another potential return trip cost.
At the end of the day, I think these folks mean well, definitely try to sell you on everything and are a bit pricey than others.
Great service! They were very flexible in working with me to get a time in the evening in which a technician could come out. I was going to reschedule since the first technician was on his way and I would not be home in time; however the dispatch worked with me to get another tech out so that I would not have to reschedule. The tech that came out was very nice and great at answering all my questions.

I had a great experience with Raleigh Heating & Air today. The technician, Torrie, was very knowledgeable, helpful and professional. He took the time needed to thoroughly explain the issue with our Air Conditioner. I felt he was very patient and respectful in his response to all my questions and professional in his repair of the unit.
A great job by Josef who inspected our AC for the summer season and made some recommendations about new AC units. Raleigh Heating and Air is a great company and I have gotten good, prompt service for the past 6 years.

I'm leaving this review after having Raleigh Heating and Air come out to my home in August 2020.
I had a leak coming from my attic through my ceiling/wall because of my ac and I had Raleigh Heating and Air come out to investigate. The service tech reviewed the situation and said that I needed nearly $3,000 worth of part replacements (new pan, new coil, etc.) on a unit that is only 2 years old. I had used this company in the past and had a great experience so I almost trusted the tech, but I decided to wait and get a 2nd opinion.
I ended up having my unit fixed for $225 as the only issue was the system was not properly draining.
Raleigh Heating and Air tried to get over $3,000 out of me after parts + labor if I had went with what the service tech was telling me. Also, he kept pushing their yearly service warranty on me and even told me it would help him if I went ahead and signed up.
I will not be using this company in the future and I would warn you to be careful if you choose to use them. It was a waste of $60, but it could have been a lot more.

A friend recommended Raleigh Heating & Air when the company chosen by our home warranty wasn't able to fix a clogged drain pipe from our attic AC unit. The company dispatched someone quickly, even though our issue wasn't an emergency, and Buddy J. was able to solve the problem that stumped previous technicians from the other company. He happily let me tag along into the attic with him and thoroughly explained the issue and the steps he planned to take to fix it. He was very upfront about pricing and options, which I also appreciated. I'll definitely use Raleigh Heating & Air again and recommend them to friends in the area.

We bought a new furnace and a new AC from Raleigh Heating & Air about 7 years ago. They had the best prices and the best customer service. Seven years later, we are still enjoying a warm home in the winter and cool home in the summer. We decided to be part of the 'comfort club,' and now we receive 2 visits a year just for maintenance and to ensure everything is running at its best. There is no charge for the visits, and gives us piece of mind. The technicians are always on time and courteous. Today, Kevin Rabon was our technician. He is a great representation of a well-managed company! He even brought treats for our dogs!

Prompt service exactly as promised. While doing a tune up on my system, Dave even took the time to point out a plumbing leak I was unaware of. Raleigh Heating and Air goes above and beyond. Friendly, knowledgeable staff with fair pricing.
The customer service was not as professional as in years past while using Raleigh Heating and Air. We had maintenance done and two weeks later, the exposed heating coils over heated and started to smoke. I had to pay a service call to get them to come back and repair a problem that they created. Glad it happened before we left to go on vacation the nexy day.... would lost our home! Not good customer service!:-(
