Had a horrible experience with this company. The tech who came out was actually really great...very nice, and knowledgable. However, once I had to work with the front desk and management to actually get the work accomplished it was TERRIBLE. no communication about the job, other than a grossly overpriced quote and an incredible condescending front desk person. If you have to use a company, I would run screaming in the other direction from this one. Cary plumbing was fantastic on the other hand.

Service was great but customer service is horrible I was without hot water for days and had to contact them back to schedule the appointment ! I was told one price on the phone when tech arrived it was more ! I was told he would arrive 12 to 5 which he was there around 11 so I had to get someone to meet him!

They ordered the wrong part 2 times. Had to come out 3 times and still can't get it right. Had to call because they forgot about my service after the first appointment..Update: office staff called and threatened to file a defamation lawsuit for untrue claim. Not sure how any of this is untrue because this is what happened and I have proof of communication. They also said that they wouldn't be servicing me any longer. Great customer service!They also said the review has been up for several months even though I only posted this last week. Screenshot for proof. Don't let them bully you with their scare tactic.Again, the techs were great. I wish the office staff were better. Overall, not a pleasant experience.

The technicians were nice but, they came the first time because I thought there was something wrong with my water heater and they said they checked it out and it was fine, but I had a leak in a pipe in the adjacent wall. They fixed the leak but left the pilot off on my water heater. Less than 2 months later my water heater began leaking water from a large rusted out hole in the side and I had to get a new one. How they could’ve missed this just 2 months earlier when they “thoroughly checked it out” is beyond me. They replaced the old water heater in good time and it was a very cold, rainy day so I don’t blame them for not doing a perfect job of sweeping up debris when they were done. The supervisor or whoever the woman I spoke on the phone with, would not admit to any responsibility for any issues like the pilot light or the missing of my rusted out, 16 year old water heater. She was very difficult to deal with.

Jamie tried to charge us for products and services that were not needed. We were told they were needed for code, but later admitted they were not needed and would only deduct 19.00 from a 1440.00 bill. To add to it, they called after giving us a quote and wanted to add an additional 115.00. Needless to say, we chose another company. I don't recommend these people at all. Please just be aware of your charges.

The plumber who came out was very knowledgeable, friendly, and informative. He was also able to find the leak very quickly and diagnosed the problem. However, I only gave three stars because the problem requires them to come back so it hasn't been fixed yet.

We had a clog line, and when we contacted them the lady gave us a time frame that the technician would be contacting us and that he would call 30 min prior to heading to our home. He did just that and when he arrived he went right to work. The clog was found and took care of . The technician was friendly and curteous . We highly recommend Modern Plumbling.

Terrible! This company has very poor customer service, requires payment up front before work is done, does not provide written estimates, changes verbal estimates, increasing the charges each time. This is without a doubt the most unprofessional company I have ever dealt with. Rude on the phone as well. How do they stay in business is beyond my comprehension. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! I was forced to use them because they were given to me by a Home Warranty Company.

Triangle Plumbing came to my house today to fix a disposal.Well, it was not my disposal but the switch that controls the disposal. The plumber said he would contact my warranty company and have an electrician come out to fix it. But, I want to compliment the pumber, unfortunately I did not catch his name but he was extremely, polite and pfofessional. If I had or have another plumbing problem it would be Triangle Plumbing I would have my warranty company call again.

I had them come to install a customer purchased whole-house water filtration system. The guys showed up when they said they would and got to work right way. They took pictures of their work, explained how everything worked, and labeled the filters so I would know which is which when replacement comes around. They gave me their estimated price up front before they started after assessing what would be needed and took the time answer a few questions. I appreciate good efficient work like that.

I had a garbage disposal that acted up on me this week, so I called my warranty company and they sent Triangle Plumbing out 2 days later. Misdiagnosed my toilet leak as improper install so that my home warranty wouldn't cover it. Then offered to fix the problem for $400 (in addition to the $100 I spent for the (mis)diagnosis). Had someone else come in the next day and do the job for less than $100 (including parts). Waste of money on this company. Will never use them or recommend them in the future.

TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICEI had to speak with the owner of the company because I was misquoted on a job they were doing. When I calmly asked why the price had changed, she was quick to state it had not, I must have misheard, nothing changed, that's the price that they originally quoted me. I continued to explain that it was not what was told to me and that I was disappointed the fee changed, she still wasn't willing to listen to what I was saying, at which point I stated this is unbelievable. She became extremely defensive and started speaking loudly and putting words in my mouth. She accused me of calling her a liar and that I said they are a terrible company, none of which I stated. I was simply trying to understand how the calculation was misconstrued to me two days prior. She proceeded to tell me she didn't want to work for me and that she was pulling her techs off my job and that she would pray for me...... I was on the phone shaking my head trying to make sense of what had just transpired. I have never been treated that way, she had zero customer service skills, was completely defensive and unwilling to listen to what i had to say or reason with me when I attempted to talk through the problem, and then at the end she was accusatory, and rude. To top all that off, they put holes in my ceiling that I didn't actually need. Highly recommend you go elsewhere for plumbing work.

This company came to my home to look at a water line issue for my refrigerator for a home warranty call. The warranty did not cover. This place sent me a quote for $ 782.00 to install a water line in a crawl space. $500 for labor and $216 for parts. Really!!! Lowes carries a DIY for $20. Avg. is $150.00 for job. Got a local plumber for $160.00. RIPE-OFF.

Worst company ever! Our pipes blew and the psi at our house was at 120, when it should be between 50-80. We have insurance thru First American Home Warranty. It took modern plumbing 2 days to even come out. When a technition finally came out they looked all around our house then charged us $65 without finding the valve or fixing the problem only to tell us we have a pressure issue. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!

Did a great job stopping leak and diagnosing the problem which was a leak from a pipe leading to the second floor bathroom. Also they did a fine job on replacing pipes for the second floor bathroom the on follow up visit.Sadly during the follow up visit a drill bit was accidentally dropped from the second floor to the first floor by the plumber. The dropped drill bit cracked the kitchen sink. The written note made by the plumber : the kitchen sink needed to be replaced and the right side should not be used until replaced. I have since replaced the damaged sink at my own expense.

My family was assigned this plumbing company by our home warranty provider (First American) to replace a leaking water heater. The techs that came to the house were fine and competent, but the supervisor in their office that I had to deal with was so incompetent and rude that my overall experience was extremely poor.To provide more details, our water heater was in the attic, which has a small door with a folding wooden staircase attached to it. The first tech who came out to inspect the leak said that we may need to remove the attic door frame (trim) and staircase to lift the new water heater into the attic, but he didn't seem certain that we would absolutely need to remove it (the door with frame was 20.5 wide and the new heater was 20 wide). Besides, this company did not have a carpenter or handyman who could remove the trim & stairs, so I'd have had to arrange a separate professional for that. When I later called the office about this, the lady who picked up the phone recommended not to remove the trim & stairs for now, and that they could reschedule the appointment if the new water heater did not fit through on the day of install. So I left the attic door as it was. The replacement was scheduled 3 days after the initial tech visit, and everything seemed to be set, but somehow our file ended up with one of the supervisors in the office. The interaction that followed with this supervisor the day before install was one of the worst customer service experiences I've had. She started claiming that we needed to remove the door trim & stairs, and that we would need to pay $150 rescheduling fee if the water heater didn't fit through the door on the day of install. We hadn't had the water heater for 4 really cold days at this point, and we had 2 infants and 3 adult guests, so I offered to take a chance and pay the rescheduling fee if needed. Then she immediately changed her mind and started insisting that we absolutely needed to remove the trim and stairs, and started threatening in an extremely rude tone that she would put our installation appointment on hold if we didn't. She also claimed that the replacement water heater was 300lb, which I later found out to be highly exaggerated (water heaters weigh about 200lb). It seemed as though she was simply trying to block the replacement for no reason, or perhaps she had overbooked her staff and was trying to give our appointment to someone else (it was a really cold week December, one of the busiest times for plumbers). I felt forced to give in to her demands at this point since this was an emergency situation for my family. I then scrambled to find a carpenter in 24hrs, and was quoted up to $1000 by some carpenters given the short notice. I was able to get a carpenter finally and the water heater was replaced the next day. What an ordeal!I see that many other reviews here have commented very negatively on the office staff of this company, especially a particular supervisor/manager, so my experience is not an isolated one. I recommend that you stay away from this company and find a alternative plumber for your needs.

Repaired line they thought was leaking and was not. Charged extra 371.00 to find leak. Found leak wa need more money to repair. I said no. They left. Called office to voice concern bo answer back as of yet. Still have leak. What they done was good but did not properly check where leak was cost me extra and still not fixed

I have no complaints about the technician, he was very nice. The problem is with a woman named Jamie, who I believe is the owner. My faucet has a leak and the technician said I was covered by home warranty to get it replaced, however, Jamie stated that there was more work to be done then I was told and what was written on the paper the technician created and that I would not be covered. After a while of trying to figure out the issue with home warranty, she became increasingly unprofessional, threatened to sue me for leaving a bad review, and hung up the phone. Good service but terrible management. I also paid the technician for a job he has not completed yet.

We had a leak that severely damaged a major portion of our wooden floor. The company sent Andy right away (on Christmas Eve!). Andy did a very thorough check on 5 potential sources of the leak in the house and then validated the problem by checking around the house and in the crawl space under the house. He identified the culprit and determined how to prevent further damage and then worked with us on next steps. Thanks Andy—you saved our Christmas!

Terrible customer service. HSA referred this company. I would NOT recommend this company. Not only are they rude and defensive when you request information (Katie) , but they even refused to give me their name and said they didn't feel comfortable speaking with me. I was requesting information on what part of the hot water heater wasn't working and the name of the supervisor that would be calling me regarding the situation. They told me the supervisor's name is J.J., but over 12 days he was not in the office or available to call. Then I was told that the piece WASN'T covered, when they previously told me over the last twelve days it WAS covered under warranty. I have been without hot water for 12 days and counting under warranty. The worst customer service I have ever had in Raleigh.

Called AHS on Sat and they scheduled an appointment for Monday. Feeling this was an emergency I called Modern Plumbing and they said they can come out on Sunday for an additional $125. That was fine. Said they would call me between 9 and 11am. After no call by 11:30 I cancelled.Amend: They did show up at 9:15am but unfortunately I don't think they rang our door bell or knocked very loudly or our dog would have let us know. That said and reading the other reviews, we rescheduled with another company.

Wouldn't schedule an appointment after 4 pm when I get out of work, so we had to settle on Saturday. Got a convenient 6 hour window to expect the plumber, 6 hours came and went, no call no show. When I called, Jamie confirmed that the appointment was for that day ( Saturday) and someone should have called. When I still wanted them to come Saturday night or Sunday morning they expected to charge me the emergency service call rate. UPDATE: Sunday morning: the plumber, and Jamie are calling my fiancé insisting that her appointment was originally for Sunday and that is why no one came or called on Saturday.(clearly motivated by this review, Because 12 hours prior a Sunday call would have been a much higher emergency rate) When I called to ask why they would tell us two different things Jamie got very defensive, cut me off and said I already explained to her the procedure, I don't have time to talk to you, I'll call you back. No Jamie, please don't!

Dennis came out to my house to investigate and actually went in my crawl space (unlike the previous plumber) to check it out. Though the warranty company would not cover his repairs, he was thorough, polite, and had common sense. I will be using this company for any future plumbing issues. Thanks guys!

More than happy with the service from Modern Plumbing & Backflow. I had issues with 2 hose bibs at my house, leaking and one the line was broken. Jerry, the tech that came to my house was awesome and he took the time explain everything that was going on and the steps to get it fixed, plus the cost. We had our warranty company send out this company to find and repair a leak. The technician of rived said we had a stopped up drain field I needed to call a company to pump off our septic tank. The technician was here for about three minutes never came inside and look for the leak and the source that caused the overflow in the drainfield. After I had the septic tank pumped off I called them back to see if they wanted to send him back out here to detect a leak to keep the sewer from filling back up again. At which time they informed me that I would have to pay two service fees along with a bill for $165 that my warranty company was already going to pay. The lady informed me that a leaking toilet cannot cause a septic to overflow. OK I said then she told me I knew nothing about plumbing. I agreed and said that’s why I have a home warranty and why they set a plumber out here. I’m sorry to say that I will not be able to use this company any longer due to the fact that they are very unprofessional.I would not recommend anyone to use this company if they want a professional company and a job well done seems like they just want to pass the buck.

Unbelievably bad. This company was forced on us by our home warranty. BEWARE. They lied to us and the home warranty company in order to get out of fixing their mistake. Here's the deal, we had a problem with our toilet/drain and called our home warranty who sent out these guys. Upon inspection the first plumber says it was toilet and we needed a replacement. They call and tell us it will be an extra $108 because the home warranty only pays for the toilet bowl and not the tank - what? Once our home warranty gets involved, they turnaround and say well the old tank still fits and you don't need a new one. So they come to install the new toilet, and guess what, the drain problem isn't fixed by the new toilet. The best part is the 2 plumbers knew that after trying to flush, whispered to each other, then tried to tell us alright, you are good to go. When we asked if the drain was fixed they said well it's supposed to be...then we flush it in front of them and surprise, it doesn't work. They act surprised and start to investigate. After a couple hours, they say that they need to schedule their drainage specialist. Days later, he comes and investigates with his assistant. They remove the brand new toilet and push a motorized rooter through, which apparently only pushed the clog further along so then they have to remove another toilet in another bathroom to try to reach the clog from a closer location. This doesn't fix it, actually makes another toilet unusable and they probably need to adjust the pipes under the house so after many hours they say that they need to submit the claim to our home warranty but in the meantime they will bring the stronger rooter machine to hopefully move the clog in the next few days. After hearing nothing from them after 4 days, we call since we now have 2 toilets that aren't draining properly. After a couple hours on the phone back and forth with the plumbers and the home warranty, it turns out the home warranty doesn't cover the removal of a toilet to remedy a drain issue and now the plumbers are denying that they ever removed the toilets and refuse to come fix their mistake. Awesome! I get that somebody on their side didn't read the fine print of the home warranty contract BUT we went from having one broken toilet to two broken toilets because of them. And they don't even have the class to try to own up and fix their mistake. Terrible business and really crappy human beings.

These guys are amazing! Being a New Yorker who relocated to Raleigh, I decided to give them a shot. They are amazing folks, the owner is honest and trustworthy - not out to take you for a ride like so many of their competitors. They replaced a hot water heater for me and did an amazing job. Had a hot water heater that was putting out brown water. Drained the water heater with tech guy present. Did that to flush heater and seen some improvements. But the hot water is still not clear. Probably eventually need to replace it but for now it’s working and not leaking.I informed the tech during the heater drain time that our house water pressure lowered when more than I thought it should when one facet was turned on. The tech thought the reason was a faulty pressure regulating valve. He replaced the valve for and also increased our house pressure by a few psi. Also had the bib on the back of the house changed due to it not being able to be completely shut off. The service was speedy and the technician listened to all the problems and fixed them for us. We also got a follow up call by the company spokesman to make sure our service was done to our expectations. I would recommend them if you need any water problems fixed.

This business is so bad that they cannot even get their own phone number corrected. I keep getting phone calls for them and I have contacted their company about looking into this and they expect me to tell their customers who call me at 3 am for plumbing issues what their number is. Looking at these reviews I just hang up on people and that is the nicest thing I could do for these people is to let them think I work for this company. This is a personal home phone and this company is terrible so I hope if my hanging up on one customer makes them go elsewhere, I have saved someone from misery!

This company is shady and if you have a home warranty, they will try to get money from you and the home warranty both. I had never had to pay more than my service fee for any repairs before, but they were going to charge me $1300 to replace my hot water heater. Who knows what they were going to charge the home warranty company. When I pressed a bit on this, they indicated that there were things that weren't covered by the home warranty. And while that may be true, I really didn't think there would be $1300 worth of additional charges. I ended up calling a local plumber with really good reviews who came out the next morning and told me he could do the job later that day for a total of $1400 -- and that's without any warranty! So I told him to go ahead and do it. I then let my warranty company know since the issue was fixed and they actually sent me a check for a good portion of that. I can't remember how much they paid, but I want to say it was between $700 and $800 they sent me, which means it ended up costing me about $600 instead of $1300!I had also asked this company about upgrading my unit and they said I had a 40 gallon tank and that to go to a 50 gallon tank would be an extra $625, with some of that being inspection fees and such for the different size tank. Well, it turns out I already had a 50 gallon tank, and when I went back and looked at their estimate they even took a picture of the plate that showed it was a 50 gallon tank! That would have been an expensive mistake that would have raised my total cost to nearly $2000! I guess over $2000 if you throw in my $75 service fee. If you get assigned this company by your warranty company, I would recommend you request a different service provider.

Pressure valve tank had to be replaced that was attached to the water heater. Plumber replaced it and secured it to the wall instead of letting it hang off the water heater. But later water was gushing out of the hose bib. So another plumber came back and replaced the hose bib. The repairs were done in a short amount of time but the cost was a bit too much for me. But I'm satisfied that everything is fixed and hope nothing else comes up in the near future.

Their phone operators sigh and make it seem like you are interrupting their day by calling with a question. Execuse me for needing plumbing work done. I was having a problem with a toilet not flushing properly. I’m a female senior citizen who had no idea what the problem was. I called and they came out the next day. The plumber was friendly, professional and efficient. He had it taken care of In about 15 minutes.It was very expensive. $250.00 to replace a fill valve. I knew in advance that would be the base starting fee but didn’t know what a simple fix it was. Next time I may try to fix it myself before calling a plumber. But if you can’t do the repair I would definitely call them.

It is impossible to explain all the reasons why you should NOT use Modern Plumbing and Backflow.I called to have 2 plumbing issues resolved and 2 technicians arrived. The first issue was the bathroom faucet which they spent an hour and a half analyzing and determining that the piece needed had to be ordered. They then took 5 minutes to analyze a hose bib needed to be replaced on an outside connection. They advised me of the amount and then proceeded to complete the work. Which took about half hour. All the time explaining what was happening. Total time approximately 2 hrs. Very cordial. When I called the office to get a breakdown of the amount I was told that they did not charge for the travel time to my house !!!! So I should be happy about that. I was also accused of making the representative uncomfortable about asking questions about the bill and that the technician suddenly didn't want to come back to my home because he felt uncomfortable . Then the representative hung up on me. Are they nuts. How do these people stay in business. Perhaps they don't want to be called out for over billing. Did they spend unneeded time on the faucet to pad the bill and don't want to own up to it. Maybe. Perhaps Modern plumbing makes this a practice. Shame on them.These people are scam artists. DO NOT use them for any reason. A consumer asking questions about a bill is standard, why should they feel uncomfortable. Their customer service is the worst.

I called my Home Warranty company who then referred me to this company to get my water heater fixed. It’s a water heater and should be a high priority. I was told that I could call this vendor with my claim number to schedule a technician which I’ve been able to do in the past and the vendor assisted immediately. I did but they refused to schedule a technician because they hadn’t received the claim. I again, get on the phone with home warranty who get on a call with them. I still could not get an appointment scheduled. I called this Modern Plumbing back later and even though Kelly initially told me she could get a technician out on Saturday, it changed to Monday. I proceeded to complain about the poor service and said I will be posting their poor service on social media. I was transferred to supervisor who told me that they will press charges if I do so. This is the level of service you can expect from this company. I already have a scheduled technician with a different company less than an hour later.

It was about 3:30 PM on 3/31 when I realized my aging water heater was not working. Went to check the pilot, which was out and would not re-ignite. I called in a claim through my coverage with Duke and it was promptly approved. They provided the name of Modern Plumbing as the supplier to handle the repair/replacement. However, by this point it was just after 5. In desperation to have hot water I found their number and called. They had already closed for the day, but had an option for emergency after hours. I selected it expecting a voicemail that would likely not be checked until next day. To my delight Jamie picked up immediately and began assisting me. There was not a team available to do it that night, but she walked me through collecting all the information they would need. Also, she answered various somewhat related plumbing questions as well. I submitted it to her via text and she opened the case for me that evening. The next morning I got a call from Jeff who had my replacement water heater and was arriving shortly. I had not drained the 50 gallon tank for them, located outside in a water hut, in advance so that was the only part that took any time. They were courteous in answering questions and even went so far as to help me adjust my house pressure valve. My water was hot within about an hour and has been great since. I highly recommend this business and had an excellent experience with them.

I DO NOT recommend this company. I was assigned to Modern Plumbing through my Warranty company. The first plumber they sent out was inexperienced and made my issue (which was very minor) WORSE leaving me without the use of my guest bathroom for a week. Once the 2nd (more experienced) plumber came out the following week, they stated they would have to replace the entire fixture for $500. Keep in mind my bathroom was in working order BEFORE they came out...and now it is completely unable to be used FORCING me to make repairs. On top of that...the team was EXTREMELY rude in their communication and refused to take any responsibility for their errors. Proceed with Caution...

Technician Matt was awesome. Originally I liked this company however they failed to complete the job and sabataged my claim with home warranty co so that the claim was sure to be denied. All that was needed was a new toilet flange however they submitted to ins that modifications were needed to septic pipe costing an additional 309.00.. had another company come in today that completed job for 95 00 and said that Moderns assessment was wrong. Felt like I had been strongly misled by Modern in favor of pleasing warranty company. Buyer beware

We called Sunday noon for emergency backup on toilets, shower and tub. We reached Jamie on the phone. She was very informative about weekend rates and that it would be late afternoon. Andrew came to fix the stopped up pipes, checking house to street first, then using several ‘snake heads’ to find blockage from toilet (He removed toilet first). He stayed late, until clog released. Whew! So grateful. Andrew was very skilled, smart, and courteous. This is our (new to the area) go-to plumbing company. Thank you.

The customer service was terrible! Matt the service tech was super nice and so was the office staff, but everyone else even the supervisor was super rude! We have a home warranty and we told them we only wanted fixed what was covered by the warranty, and they fixed something that wasn’t and didn’t let us know at the end of the appointment that we would have to pay so now we’re stuck with the bill. The copy of the work they did didn’t say anything about us having to pay. Do not recommend! Not to mention they showed up later than the five hour window of time that they gave us!

I called them with my problem on Saturday, they called me back promptly on Monday morning and set an appointment for Tuesday. The service technician called me and arrived on the front end of my allotted appointment window. He was very courteous and knowledgeable.

Scam. This guy is in bed with the warranty companies (HSA). If you are unfortunate enough to get referred to this company by a warranty company you are in for a ride. I had a hot water heater fail shortly after moving into a new home. Triangle came out and sent the warranty company a ridiculously inflated quote. $918 dollars in none covered charges for a hot water heater that cost around $450. I never could get a formal quote from Triangle after repeated attempts. The office staff will agree and send you nothing. I finally received an informal quote from the home warranty company itself and had two other plumbers come out to provide an estimate. I had both of them review the quote they provided. They were trying to charge $175 for an expansion tank that they get for $35, parts that were not required that I already had, Installation Modifications, and the list goes on. One of the plumbers who came out to provide another quote was very aware of this guys shady business practices. Bottom line. If referred to this company, request a plumber of your choosing, or better a cash payout. You will not get much out of the warranty company. Be warned, they inflate all other prices and then quote little for the actual hot water heater and labor, but it is the path of least resistance.

I have just talked to Jamie on the phone about our recent experience re our Renaii water heater. Jamie described the ongoing effort by Modern Plumbing to get us cleared for Renaii parts, and I do appreciate her letting me know about Modern's efforts on our behalf. I explained that I assumed our warranty company (ORHP) had long since canceled any arrangement with Modern because we opted for a cash-out. Apparently ORHP had never notified ORHP of our decision to accept a cash-out. During all this, I had been frustrated at not getting any clear information from the various people I spoke to at Modern. Jamie's explanation of Modern's efforts to get the part has satisfied me that you at Modern were making a real effort to get our situation resolved, and I appreciate that. I do wish there were clearer lines of responsibility both at Modern and ORHP. Thanks for the call.

After reading some of the other reviews, I was nervous to have Modern Plumbing come out to our house after our warranty company assigned them to us. I even called the warranty company to see if we could switch! Andrew came out to our house and couldn't have been nicer or more thorough. He diagnosed the problem, which took a lot of searching. It ended up being an issue with our shower door- something he could not replace. However, he gave us instructions on what would need to be done to remedy the problem. He even came back a few minutes after leaving to remind us not to use the shower until the problem is fixed. I am relieved with how well the visit went, and felt compelled to write this review as a warranty customer. I didn't feel like customer service suffered at all because we had the home warranty, and would feel confident calling Modern Plumbing again should the need arise.

**If you have been threatened by this business, please read**We have worked with technicians with the company for the past year as they were a provider through our Old Republic home warranty. The technicians are incredibly respectful, timely, and kind.We were told by their technicians that our inverters needed to be repaired which was outside our home warranty so we paid out of pocket half a grand to fix. After the work was complete, we noticed a leak and had two different technicians come today. They told us that the issue was NOT the inverter, in fact it was the shower valve. The technician advised me to call their corporate office to get a refund for the work done on the inverter and set up an appointment to fix the REAL issue.Upon calling, the supervisor (who was a woman, please search Supervisor in these reviews to show others who had the same experience) threatened to call the police on us for asking to resolve the issue. They then hung up on us and refused to have a civil conversation and hung up on us again. They made it seem as though I was threatening them but I was cool, calm, and collected - it was clear upon researching reviews that this SUPERVISOR does this to all customers.Since this experience, I have filed a case with the Better Business Bureau, tweeted at Old Republic, and have written this review. I am considering calling the police to report fraud and harrassment. Please follow this reivew if you have also been acosted by this business, this is unacceptable behavior by the SUPERVISOR, not technicians, and customers should not be treated this way.

A few months back I had to use them through HMS warranty. The management is rude. She hung up on me several times and kept yelling on the phone. I couldn't even talk. It took them approx 4 weeks to replace my hot water pump. That was such an inconvenience. They made appointments but never showed up after i took the whole day off from work and then made more appointments like from 12pm to 6pm and was still late. Apparently they even installed the pump wrong because i had to get someone else to come fix it..... the water wasnt getting hot enough 😐. This is the worst company to hire.

DO NOT USE! Modern plumbing came out to do an estimate through our home warranty, spent less than 10 minutes looking at the issue and claimed it wasn't covered under our warranty on a technicality. When asked for a quote from them, I was personally told they would get us a quote in a day or two. TWO WEEKS later, we still had no quote. We finally got one after reaching out for them to come back out to look at the leak again since they did a poor job the first time. Thankfully my husband was able to patch the leak while we now look for a different plumber. What a waste of a service fee for them to come out, do a poor job assessing the leak, and then not get back to us until we reached out again. I do not recommend.Updated to add: Modern Plumbing gave us a quote of over $900 for this simple pipe replacement. We had it completed by a personally vetted company for less than $300. Another reason to beware of this company!

Modern Plumbing & Backflow has been sent out twice via our home warranty company. Both times they were FANTASTIC!! Showed up promptly and tried to get me in as soon as possible due to an emergency issue. Our first issue was a flooded basement due to a toilet. The second time it was a clogged drain. Not an ordinary clogged drain. A drain that was so clogged it was backing up 1/2 of the plumbing in our 45 year old house we just bought a year ago. We had tried the most potent drain cleaners-the ones that have a guarantee-and had caustic solutions filling 2 sinks. They located the source and had to remove and replace a portion of pipe due to the insane clog from many years of improper/no maintenance. I was extremely concerned after reading so many bad reviews about plumbing companies assigned through warranty companies but we couldn’t be happier! Highly recommend 👍

My experience with this company was HORRENDOUS. The Tech they sent out spent approximately 5 hours, diagnosed my 1/2 inch leaking pipe in the wall of my second floor master bath as faulty vent pipe flashing on my roof! He advised me to get a roofer in. It hadn't rained in over a week, yet he assured me it was residual from rain which had collected in the ceiling of my FIRST FLOOR over time. The next day I had two different roofing companies come out. When I told them what the MPB plumber had said, they just shook their heads in disbelief. When I called MPB back and told them that two different roofers concurred that this is a plumbing issue, they set up a tech for 12-5 the next day, well their tech never showed or called. When I called MPB back at 5pm, their EMERGENCY contact person said that she saw our address on the list and we were next in line, her words were He should be there shortly HE NEVER SHOWED! On Wed morning, I called and CANCELLED THEM, I got my own plumber and he fixed it in 35 min. Due to the misdiagnosis of my leak and subsequent NO SHOW, I now had three more damage and missed two days of work due to their INCOMPETENCE. To make matters worse, my wife left a negative review, and the supervisor of the company promptly called us and threatened us with a lawsuit if our review was not taken down! We informed her that NOTHING IN THE REVIEW WAS FALSE INFORMATION! I actually have the original bill, where the tech puts in writing that he checked all the drains and this leak appeared to be a roofing problem! Needless to say, I couldn't in all good conscience recommend them to anyone. Do your homework, read ALL the reviews. The owner threatens anyone who reviews them badly with a lawsuit. If you review them fairly and honestly, she will be wasting money in legal fees.

They even called and threaten to send me to the credit bureau. It seems as if there was a discrepancy in communication and contract agreement with them and the warranty company. I was not happy. On Monday I discovered a major leak in the intake line to my water heater. I did the best I could with what I had available and called Duke Energy. They recommended Modern Plumbing and Backflow as the company they partner with for water heater installation & maintenance. I contacted Modern and after explaining my situation was given an appointment the next day between 12 and 5.When Greg, the plumber, called at 3ish to say he was on his way I couldn't have been more pleased. But I was. Greg listened patiently as I blurted out my story and immediately began the work of replacing pipe and valves. Less than an hour later, he was done and on his way to the next in need.From start to finish this was the most professional, responsive service company I've dealt with in ages. Greg was without equal when it comes to the care with which he did this job and the kind patience he displayed in dealing with me; I've seen none better. So, here's thanks to Modern and many thanks to Greg. You are my heroes. Thank you.

My warranty company chose them to fix both garbage disposal & water heater leak.Their technician came & claimed that he fixed the problem but just a couple of hours later we ran into the exact problem again ( actually the leak got worse) then I had to call them to get it fixed & while trying to expedite the appointment the owner said that I am rude, inconsiderate & refused to do the refund & when my wife called her , the owner yelled at her & hung up the phone.Great advice: never to call this company for any service. It will just get worse.

FIND ANOTHER PLUMBERI had Triangle Plumbing come out for my water heater via my warranty company.After confirming that it was in need of replacement, my warranty company informed me the water heater unit and install were covered but there would be over $600 in modifications that Triangle Plumbing said were needed. Unreal, no way has code changed to the tune of $600+ in a home 12 years old with installing a comparable unit. I ended up taking a cash payout from my warranty company and taking my business elsewhere. The plumber I ended up using provided a unit, installed it, and did the modifications for $760! Yes, that was just a $160 more than what Triangle Plumbing wanted for their modifications alone. It makes me sick to think of all the customers they have taken advantage of. This company is seriously lacking ethics. I can't believe they are still in business.

Terrible customer service. Called them out through the Warranty company to fix the supply line to my dishwasher. I was told by the technician it would be an easy fix and he would be back later on in the afternoon with the part and to repair the problem. After no one came or contacted me I tried several times to contact the technician including texting him per what their voicemail said to do. No response! I called the next morning to see what was going on and Katy in customer service?? told me they couldn't schedule anything until Monday and when I asked why nobody contacted me or could come out today (Friday) I was told that the technician that came out originally was off and they don't work on the weekends in a very condescending tone. Needless to say I cancelled my appt. and called Roto-Rooter who came out within an hour and fixed it for the same price without the poor attitude. Steer clear of this company.

Company came out to inspect a major plumbing problem after being called by Home Warrenty. Took 3 days for company to come out, plumbers completely missed the problem, meanwhile made inappropriate bowel jokes (about my family) and then when they came back out later that day to actually find our problem, said that our home inspector should have seen the issue. Would never use this company. Their estimate was hugely expensive and so our warranty denied us.

Whoever the supervisor lady is needs a serious attitude adjustment. Had the pleasure of hearing her place blame on everyone except her and her staff. Recorded all the calls, which she will also tell you she's doing lol. You're a company, people are gonna want good service, which is not you. Steer very clear of modern plumbing. Modern must mean, create damage and threathen to sue. This is basically a good ol boy, fix it with duct tape type of company. Create damage and try to pin it on the customer. Thats pretty pathetic.

Thinking we'd be able to use our home warranty, we had a service call scheduled with Modern Plumbing and Backflow. Dennis and Thomas came out to examine our shower leak 6 days after the initial claim was made to our home warranty company. They took less than 5 minutes to examine the tub/shower and only stayed longer because I asked multiple questions. After finding out our warranty doesn't cover caulking (which was determined to be the necessary fix), I called MPB to ask for an estimated cost of the project. Initially, the lady on the phone was trying to answer my questions but then I was transferred to someone higher up and she told me a large range for price estimates even while looking at the very specific pictures Dennis took. She told me they don't even want to come do this job and a tube of caulk costs $3 so I can just do it myself - quite rudely. After I thanked her for her time, she proceeded to hang up on me. Unfortunately they work with our warranty and we had/have no say in working with them inside of the home warranty contract. We'll not be using them for any additional fixes outside of the warranty after this phone conversation.

The owner Jamie is rude. She hung up on me because I was inquiring about the pricing for an item that was being quoted $215 when the part straight from the manufacturer is only $15. $8 at a local plumbing supply company. Modern plumbing is a provider with a home warranty system but refused to send requested information and communicate with the company. She told me to do the work myself and that she was closing my claim. Simply because I was inquiring about pricing and asking her to send additional information that was requested. They add additional charges to the job that the home warranty doesn't cover. In my two dealing with modern backflow and plumbing, I had to pay $214 for a new sump pump and $522 for a new water heater. The insurance covered the cost of the pump and heater, but did not cover the additional inflated costs to bring up to code. Not to mention the $75 service fee. The home warranty from American home shield is a rip-off to say the least. They must have some agreement so that both warranty company and Modern plumbing come out ahead okay, but the consumer pays the most. Will not be renewing warranty or ever using this plumbing company again. What a shame that this is how the home warranty process works.

There are plenty other plumbers to hire, skip this one. They do not return phone calls, threaten lawsuits, are just not great business people, etc. Also be wary of the reviews as a lot of them look to be relatives of the business, especially the 5 star reviews.

Friendly yes. However, part of the work we paid for them to do was incorrect. When brought to the attention of Modern Plumbing, they tried their best to convince me that this was good enough, instead of replacing with the correct part. We paid for this equipment AND installation. If even the label says it's wrong, it should be corrected. We paid for a thorough and correct installation of all equipment. Modern Plumbing did not wish to fix their error. They just tried to convince me to accept it.

Home Warranty Of America contracting this company to look at our tankless water heater, they came out and the guy states he has never seen or worked on one...GREAT! Then he spend a hour on the phone with the manufactors tech support, 2nd GREAT. They send back the fact is mine due to lack of maintenance. what a joke! The lady in the office, call her the superior is a pissed off none customer service, know it all that was wrong in 3 ways. She had a disrespectful attitude the whole time and never once offered help only roadblocks to resolve the issues. DO NOT use them! So many other choices that care not know it all office ladies that have no clue. Clueless. AWFUL COMPANY! STAY AWAY!

I found that from the beginning the staff was very helpful, they walked me through each step necessary to get my water heater serviced. The service men knew what they were doing and quickly diagnosed and replaced my water heater. In less than a week the work was finished. 👍🏾

Dealt with Modern Plumbing through my Home Warranty Company... their response time and availability to their customers was good when I had questions about the work I needed done on my water heater. I was skeptical about the out of pocket costs that they provided, so I contacted a different company and they got a new water heater installed at my house in less than 24 hours of initial contact at $400 less than Modern Plumbing quoted me. They told me by law I was required to make modifications to my vent system. Wasn’t the case with the other company. If you have to work with this company through your warranty, i would HIGHLY recommend looking elsewhere as I saved significant money in doing so.

We have the water heater service plan through Duke Energy and when we called about our water heater quickly running out of hot water, they had Modern Plumbing and Backflow contact us. I saw some bad reviews online and was a little concerned. Brian arrived with trainee and completed a hot water heater installation in under 3 hours. Brian corrected and improved placement of the expansion tank with the new lines and fittings installed. He demonstrated and thoroughly explained the gas control and pilot light on the new modern hot water heater. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!! Modern Plumbing and Backflow came to our house after calling our home warranty company for a leaky water heater. They came out and determined that the water heater was leaking at the bottom, and would need to be replaced. Instead of turning off the valve to the tank, they cut the lines and capped them off. A small leak has now turned into no hot water! They said they would submit a quote to the warranty company and get back with us. After 4 days we called and was told that the water heater was covered, but there would be an additional amount of $870 dollars that we would need to pay to bring our current installation up to code. I have built houses for 22 years and know current code, ours is up to code. They were trying to charge for an expansion tank (we have one), they were charging for dielectric unions (we have them), and most new heaters come with them anyway. Bottom line, these people lied to our warranty company about the water heater not being to code, sent over a grossly inflated quote and thought that by depriving us of hot water would make us desperate enough to pay up. They knocked on the wrong door this time, and found somebody who knows everything about there trade! Again I say STAY AWAY AT ALL COST!!

Great experience! Modern Plumbing and Backflow was very responsive to our need for assistance. We didn't have a flood but we were still triaged very quickly.The gentlemen who serviced our system were punctual--something we tend to take note of. They were thoroughly knowledgeable and explained everything to us, making certain that we, in turn, understood what needed to be done. Sept 2022, leaks: I found a leak in the stop behind the refrigerator, and while I was at it figured I'd get them to look at the kitchen faucet which I thought might be leaking. They came right out, replaced the stop, and explained that they found leaks in the kitchen faucet at several points and would have to just replace the whole faucet. Turns out they had a faucet right there in the truck that would work perfectly, so they replaced that as well. They did a perfect job, kept me well informed the whole time, and their charge was reasonable. No problem whatsoever since.April 2021, water heater: I am so glad I called Modern Plumbing about my ancient water heater. I called them on a Monday. They sent someone out Tuesday to assess the situation. The plumber was very professional and knew exactly what he was doing, and also had a great sense of humor. I received an incredibly reasonable estimate in email Wednesday, and responded with questions. The supervisor who drew up the quote called me back immediately and answered all my questions to my satisfaction. She had a great sense of humor as well. On Thursday I emailed back and accepted the offer, and on Friday we had a new water heater. This job that we had been dreading and avoiding for years, for fear of a long drawn out very expensive process, turned out to take less than a week from beginning to end and cost much less than we expected, and was a very high quality job to boot. I am amazed.

This was discovered on a Saturday, I scooedModern Plumbing was able to get someone to me on Monday evening. The fix requires approval through Home Warranty first. I leave a 3 star as Modern Plumbing admin staff has been very accommodating, but corrospense has been very slow. They are needing to coordinate with the home warranty group, but I have been needing to reach out to them instead of them contacting me. Now expected another full week before repairs are made. Again, well intended, but execution is falling a bit short leaving me one going on two weeks without water needs being met.

The plumber who came to fix our clogged kitchen drain was Dan. He was very friendly and professional. He is also very knowledgeable and happily answered all of our questions. He also gave us some great advice about some other plumbing related issues. I called Modern Plumbing in the evening and they called back first thing in the morning and sent a plumber by early afternoon as promised. I highly recommend Modern Plumbing and especially Dan.

Like everyone else, my Home Warranty sent us Modern Plumbing. At first, I was impressed. The quote was great, we got a second opinion and they said they couldn’t beat Moderns quote. We had them fix our lift pump for the basement (not covered by Home Warranty).After they dug up the yard, the quote went up $700 mysteriously. That wasn’t even the worse part!They cleaned out all our plumbing pipes, commenting on how they were full of baby wipes (from the previous owners). A couple hours after the job, my dogs were covered in what I thought was mud. After investing, the ‘mud’ the dogs were playing in was THE WASTE FROM THE CLEAN OUT (baby wipes and all).Needless to say, we are contacting DHEC in the morning!

I wish I could give zero stars. They replaced a water shut-off valve in my bathroom with a push fitting. Now that it's leaking they won't warranty their work. What gets them the low rating is that they were extremely rude about it and the manager started yelling at me over the phone. I shouldn't be surprised by their poor service though since the last time I worked with them I asked them for an estimate to replace some piping and it took them a month to send it to me, and the entirety of their detailed estimate was Replace Plumbing - $1200. It was seriously one line of text that took a month and 6 phone calls to get. Obviously I didn't use them then, I won't use them in the future, and you shouldn't use them now.

I had the same experience as another reviewer where they blamed my warranty company. I can only assume their rating is so high due to friends and employees reviewing because WOW. I have never been treated like that in my adult life. While a gentleman named Andrew was somewhat helpful and at least professional, I had the misfortune of speaking to the owner's wife Jamie. Now, every story has two sides, but consider this: Even if I am completely wrong about my complaint, this woman belittled me, called me a liar, put me on speaker phone so that other employees could gang up on me along with her, LAUGHED at me, and told me she would pray for me (why you ask? Because this was her way of further demeaning me to make me feel small). She also told me that I would not succeed in a legal action....before she knew I am actually an attorney. I will make sure to spread this word far and wide to every person I encounter. AVOID THIS COMPANY. I could have called another plumber on my own without going through the warranty company and spent less money for a complete fix, rather than be left angry, frustrated, and out money.

Called out though my home warranty to fix back flow/clog issue and to find and repair a leak. I was told my warranty didn’t cover any of it so I would have to pay out of pocket to fix the clog/back flow issue. But the leak they would need to write up a quote for. I needed it fixed so I gave them the ok. My roommate was taking care of the face to face interaction as I was at work. So I didn’t see the receipt until I got home. I was charged $276.55 and nothing was fixed. The receipt stated “tried to run small machine with no success” so what did I pay for…

We were thrilled with our service with Triangle Plumbing and have already referred a friend. The pressure tank on our water heater had a blow out in our brand new house. This caused a leak in my kitchen ceiling. They came out right away and found the source (which we thought was elsewhere and would have been much more entailed to repair). The next day they replaced our water heater, checked all the safety measures in the house, gave us amazing what to do to avoid this again advice, and their prices were fair.We would definitely use them again!

The people at Triangle Plumbing & Backflow are very rude. My home warranty company chose this company to replace my water heater. They came back and said that there were uncovered charges amounting to over $1000. After consulting a second plumber, this is a ripoff. When confronted about these outrageous costs, they said that this happens frequently and to just request a cash payout from the warranty company and hire someone else because they are not going to change their prices. They know they are overpriced and DO NOT CARE! They do not care about their customers, they just care about money. Stay away at all costs!

Hello, I appreciate the quick and response from the Modern Plumbing team. They were very precise in explaining what had to be done. Andy first technician that made the overall assessment and explained what had happened was “Awesome.” Great explanation and made the communication go smoothly. The next day got a call from Kim I think. Stating everything was approved and a technician would come out to install the electric water heater and extras. Kim, stating “It was covered 100% by your Duke Energy Home Protection Plan. The next day 12/06/2019 Winston & David came out explained what was being done. If I had any questions and what the warranty covered. They explained the quality of their service, and any future questions I could ask now or call the number on the magnet that was given to me. We called them for a sewer backup. After a few hours of using the snake they couldn't solve the problem. They told us the bill was $500 and call the city to finish the job. They left sewage around the clean out and made no effort to clean it up. We called the city as advised and they fixed the issue but told us the raw sewage that was left next to a creek is an environmental hazard. When we called Modern Plumbing to ask for their help cleaning up the mess, the supervisor/owner said Nope, and when we pointed out we could get in trouble with the state her response was Maybe I'll turn you into the state myself and hung up on us. If you want a plumber that charges you for not finishing jobs, leaves large messes and doesn't take responsibility for those messes, this is your plumber.

American Home Shield sent them to my house for faucet issue. The came first time on 04/29/16 it is 06/24/16 they still haven't solve the problem. Tech made 4 visits I still don't know the status of repair. Also they did not communicate with warranty with correct info.

The technician (Neo) was great both times he came out. However, the customer service was the absolute worst I've ever experienced... anywhere. While trying to ask questions about the diagnosis their claims rep was reporting to my Home Warranty Company, the claim representative continually interrupted me and then accused me of disrespecting her. She further insinuated I was trying to encourage insurance fraud. I really just wanted them to add more detail which would increase probability the home warranty company would cover the claim. As I continued to attempt to ask clarifying questions regarding the details of the service notes communicated to the warranty company, Jamie continued to interrupt. I never raised my voice and used good manners throughout the conversation yet I'm apparently disrespectful. Not even my own mother tells me what to say! -- Ma'am, I just asked if you could phrase it such that it specifies the actuality of the defect. My experience with this company has been minimal but this was enough. Go somewhere else, it's not worth the risk.

This company was referred to me by our home warranty company. The service people were overly casual, and kept their dirty shoes on in my house. They collected the fee for the warranty company, and then billed me additionally for the work they did. They tried to charge my credit card twice because they were uncertain how to do things. They did manage to clear the plumbing blockage, but the experience wasn’t great.

They Installed a new moen spray faucet that they ordered in our kitchen and it started leaking less than 6 months afterwards. Originally, we thought it was the faucet, but the two plumbers that we called in said that the installer had not tightened it properly. This leak compromised the bottom of the base cabinet, went through the hardwood floor and into the crawl space. It cost us $3000 to remediate. This is one of the reasons one should stay away from home warranty plans and the supposed professionals that they employ.

This company is pretty unreasonable and has no issue with allowing you to know they only care about the money (which is overpriced comparatively). The so-called supervisor was condescending and frankly rude. There are a lot of options out there and I would stay clear of this one. Seems like they should not be reps for the home warranty companies as they love to blame their own greed and lack of professionalism on the warranty companies.

The technicians who came were amazing. They were able to find roots in my main pipes and clear that away. I called the office in order to get a main report and to applaud the technicians (Greg and a helper).HORRIBLE HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE.I would have given five stars, but when I talked with Customer Service, I had a very unpleasant experience. (I would give this company zero if it wasn't for the technicians) CUSTOMER SERVICE definitely needs improvement. The lady that I had conversations with was SO rude I couldn't believe hearing half of the things she was saying.I'm a new home owner, so I don't know the 'ins-and-outs' of everything yet. When I called asking for a report because I may have to contact HOA because they planted a shrub over my main pipe which was causing the blockage, she went off saying how that sounds ridiculous and that sometimes you have to take care of your problems instead of blaming others and taking advantage of the system. And that if I can't handle issues such as this (main pipe blockage from the shrubs) I should sell my house and rent instead.At this point I was flabbergasted at what I was hearing I couldn't even give a proper response because I've never had such a horrible experience with customer service. She said I guess you hung up and before I could respond, hung up on me.I called them again and talked to the regional manager Sandy at the office. She was very professional, and was able to get me the information I needed.

Was referred to Modern Plumbing by my homeowner ins. co. for kitchen faucet & line plumbing problems. Modern Plumbing (Nick L., I think) came out & fixed the faucet line problem correctly & discovered another problem, a worn out shut off valve. Had to get ins. co. authorization for that 2nd segment of work but Nick indicated that he would try to get the cost for 2nd part of the job combined with the 1st part for cost savings. Another Modern Plumbing plumber (Nick #2) came out and finished the 2nd part, in a competent and prompt fashion, and they kept their promise re lower cost. Prompt, courteous, reasonably priced service in both cases. Altogether outstanding service!

Plumber came to my house to unclog my toilet, used the snake and further lodged in the foreign object. The object was stuck even more and could not be removed. He simply said whole toilet needed to be replaced and did not work further to help remove object from toilet. BUT, he DID collect his nice service fee!!! WOW! There are many other plumbers and even non-plumbers that can get objects out of toilets without making the situation worse or dooming a 2-year-old toilet for replacement! What a waste of money and laziness on the plumbers part!

Terrible experience. The plumber kept complaining that he was paid by the hour and not on commission, so it wasn't in his interest to find and fix the issues!He even told us to just change to the thinnest toilet paper to resolve one of the issues with flushing. Then later sneaked out without discussing anything or to let us know he wasn't going to address the problems - and nearly ran me over backing out his van so he didn't have to stay and talk to me.I would love to know the full details of their relationship with the home warranty companies.

Modern Plumbing was sent out by our home warranty company to fix a pipe that was loose. The tech looked at it and said he needed approval to cut into the drywall to brace the pipe and we would hear something in a few days. We heard nothing!!! Had to call home warranty a few times for them to reach out ans finally Modern Plumbing LIED AND SABOTAGED THE CLAIM saying we were missing parts!!! Totally not true, we have the broken brace. They did offer eventually to come back out for almost $400 when the part was $82 at Lowes. We just did the job ourselves. STAY AWAY FROM THIS DISHONEST AND UNETHICAL COMPANY!!!

To often we focus on service that that is not performed properly which is what I received with my first experience with Modern Plumbing. I would like to commend the second person that was sent to perform my job. His name is Luke Winston and he was really great. From the time he introduced himself to the end of the job he was always courteous and explained things along the way. I had a leak under my kitchen sink and he not only fixed the leak for the strainer basket but detected two other leaks in that same area. After completing the job and testing, he explained everything he had done in depth. He is one of the best servicemen I've ever had.

The team at Modern Plumbing installed a new water heater for us. They did a good job, but a few weeks after the installation, I noticed water leaking from the vent boot on the roof. I called to inform them of this issue. They sent a tech out and he surveyed the situation and took pictures. He said the office would be in touch with me within a few days. I had to reach out to them to find out how they would fix the issue. They would not take responsibility or ownership of the problem. Their tech was the one that re positioned the vent pipe that caused the holes in the roof boot. I now have to pay for a roofer to fix the issue they created. Very disappointed.

I wish there was a way to give Triangle Plumbing a negative rating. I woke up finding my sewage backed up in my den. I called and they told me they would be there between 12-4. They didn't show up until around 3:57 pm. They diagnosed the problem and told me to call first thing in the morning so they could fix the problem. Well, first thing to me is around 7:30 am. I woke up and gave them a phone call. They told me that he couldn't get out there until around ten. I explained that the plumber himself said that I should call first thing in the morning and he would come right away. The person on the phone then proceeded to inform me that first thing is around ten. Okay, not cool. The day before, I was also talking to my insurance company and they informed me that it would be covered under them. So I'm telling this to the plumbing company and they keep quoting me a price telling me it's not covered and that I would have to pay the $480. So I call the ins company and THEY contacted them and TOLD THEM it was covered. Still they refused to accept that my insurance would cover the full amount. They ended up getting pissy and putting on my record that I REFUSED to pay the amount. THIS WAS COMPLETELY UNPROFESSIONAL!. I called another plumbing company and they were at my house within an hour with the problem fixed with no cost to me. Will NEVER EVER call this company again and would not recommend them to ANYONE!

Had this company come on on Friday to fix my water heater. They replaced two heating elements. Saturday NO HOT WATER. Called emergency number. I was advised that they would come out on Sunday. NO CALL NO SHOW. Finally got a hold of them after several calls. Had another company came out stated that they put the wrong heating elements in 4500 watt, not 3500 watts which are required. VERY PISS POOR COMPANY. DO NOT USE. The owner was more worried about herself then fixing a problem that her company created. I see that I am not the only one that has complained about this company. SO SAD!!!!!!

My water heater sprung a major leak last night and flooded the side room that it's in. I put in an emergency claim with my Home Warranty Company and this morning a technician showed up at 9:00 am. He looked at every possible problem and fixed what needed to be fixed by 11:00. My hot water is back and running. Kai Long was very courteous and knowledgble. He explained every step he was taking as he went along. What a professional! I will definitely be calling them again for any plumbing problems I have that aren't covered under my warranty.

Sent to me through my home warranty provider to assess slow drains throughout my home. Technician spent the entire appointment addressing one slow drain in the bathroom. When he finished, I asked him lots of questions and he assured me that all my drains would be working... BUT he failed to test them all himself. I should have checked myself, because once he left, I realized that the kitchen and shower were not fixed at all, still draining just as slowly as before. I contacted the company and was told there are no warranties on their services, and that with my old plumbing, the technician could only make a temporary fix. I understand that temporary doesn't mean forever, but he literally did not fix all of the drains... So that's not temporary. That's incomplete! I tried contacting customer service multiple times, and eventually ended up on a 30 minute conference call with the supervisor / owner, my technician and others who did not identify themselves, as they tried to work out the problem. I found it unprofessional to include a client on a call like that. They were also patronizing in their explanation of my old home's system, and dismissive of my questions. In the end, the supervisor hung up on me without addressing my primary concern - why did the technician assure me he did a temporary fix on all my slow drains, when that was not true? I would not recommend this company because I found their work and statements to be deceptive, and overall my experience was a waste of $$ and time

STAY AWAY-- I had to use this company because my home warranty assigned them. bait and switch with the work order . Did not complete the work on the work order. They instead decided to do what they wanted to do which was outside the warranty and charge me with unauthorized work. This is their M.O. according to the many complaints they had as Triangle plumbing and back-flow... they changed their name but considering the same behavior is going on they did not change the personnel in the office and field. Now they are Modern plumbing and back flow and the complaints and reviews are still the same. The owner Jamie is very rude going through the reviews now i see that her office has been doing some name calling and being rude when being ask about charges that were not apart of the work order to be done. I will not and forever look into companies before being assigned by the home warranty . I would suggest find another company. Even the unauthorized work is completed in poor fashion . Looks terrible now i still have the issues and have to get someone to fix what they refused to do .

This was a Sunday the week of Christmas and the hot water tank had other plans. The expansion tank blew a small hole and water was blowing out like a high pressure hose. The only way to stop the water was to shut the whole water system off. We had a home owner plan and to our shock the expansion tank is not covered. The scheduler said the soonest regular appointment was friday and this was Sunday. Long story short we took the Emergency appointment and the extra cost. The Service tech came as promised and came with the proper replacement tank. Finished job in 30 minutes and took old tank away, checked the large tank and made sure our water system was on and working. Best service for Emergency. Big Thank You for saving Christmas.

I had a bad hot water heater, they were busy that day but could come over the next day. When they arrived, they agreed that it indeed was leaking and could fix it the following day at1700 hrs.The next day, I received a call from Modern Plumbing and they said they could be my house to install the W.H. at1300 hrs. When they arrived, they went right to work, upon completion they answered all my questions.This company was so easy to work with, their professionalism, ( when they arrived, they did so w/ masks on.) Company was assigned to me via First American. My first contact with them was a VM left after hours that they were reaching out but technically close and not to call back. Finally got an appointment schedule (afternoon 12-5, would call in advance). Afternoon completely wasted. No plumber, no call to even notify a schedule change. Requested FA reassigned to different contractor. I understand it is a difficult time, but its a difficult time for consumers too. I appreciate the very wasted work day!

The rating provided is 2 stars. I have used Modern Plumbing and Backflow several times before with good results. Unfortunately, this experience left me a dissatisfied customer. The original request was to (1) Remove and install a dishwasher (2) Remove and install washer valves (3) Repair master sink pop-up assembly (leak under master sink - piping connected to sink). First, it is important to communicate each team member was very professional, courteous, and responsive - the reason for the second star. The initial visit was for the quote - everything went well and paid a bit over $100 for the quote visit. The quote seemed reasonable (~$640 total) for the 3 tasks.The first visit to execute the three repairs took several hours, as expected. During the visit, there were issues with the dishwasher installation alignment and, with a stainless steel tub, there was bending that caused indentation in the tub and the dishwasher was forced into the position. The team member tried his best to get it aligned, in the end, it was out of alignment, which we agreed was not desirable, but could not be better.After the first visit, the incurred damage inside the dishwasher tub, coupled with the alignment issue presented a situation where the door would not close properly. Also, the master sink was still leaking substantially.Called Modern Plumbing. They were professional and courteous. Offered another visit.Second visit: Two team members came to the house to realign the dishwasher and install it correctly. They also worked on the master sink to fix the leak. The dishwasher was reinstalled and the door shut properly after this second visit. They also attempted to repair the leak under the master sink, however, it continued to leak.Called Modern Plumbing. Explained the master sink continued to leak underneath. They offered a third visit.Third visit: They arrived, still professional and courteous, wanting to fix the issue. They replaced the original replacement piece from the first visit underneath the sink. Tested it, and communicated no leaks. They left and the sink continued to leak underneath.Called Modern Plumbing. Explained it had been three visits and was still leaking. At this point, the customer expectation is to complete the job and provide return compensation to make things right.Fourth visit: The professional team member arrived and apologized for the situation. He then tightened all the piping and executed a thorough test for leak. There were no leaks.This concluded the three original repairs quoted four visits prior. We elected to choose Modern Plumbing to execute this job, and this was not done through insurance or a home warranty. I am partially agreeable to paying the full price for the dishwasher removal/installation (two visits) and fully agreeable paying the fully price for the washer valve replacement (one visit). However, after four visits for a specific repair, a refund for the specific job would be appropriate. The master sink repair was quoted at $166. As a previously loyal customer to Modern Plumbing, a refund for $166 should have been offered as compensation for this situation.I reiterate, the Modern Plumbing team conducted communications professionally, and the technicians were courteous and professional as well throughout each visit. I am disheartened and disappointed in the outcome of the situation.

Referred to them from our warranty company. Paid them 75 dollars to come look at a leak in our master shower. Plumber told us pipe had corrosion and it would be covered by our warranty no problem. Then the warranty company denied our claim because the plumber told them we caused the leak by excessively pulling on the shower head and abusing the pipe! When we called the plumbers back to ask about this they were very rude and basically said its not our problem your warranty denied you so pay us to fix it or go fly a kite! Right before the holidays when we are having company and businesses are shutting down for Christmas! SCAM ARTISTS!!!!!

I was impressed with Modern Plumbing from my first call with them. They came out and thoroughly accessed and diagnosed our situation. We have a very large pressure tank that died. It was a special order, and had to be shipped/delivered. They also called several companies to find us the most affordable, quality option and ended up saving us a lot of money compared to other companies that had provided a quote.The staff knew that we were without water in the meantime and kept us on the schedule each morning in case the tank arrived early. When it came in, they were at the house and installing it at first thing in the morning. We have water. With strong pressure. And we are very happy with the experience.

If its Friday the 13th, your water heater will leak. Actually the leak started on Thursday, and Modern Plumbing managed to get someone out the same day to drain the unit. They then sent two men out the very next day to replace the worn-out unit. These two got my unit installed in a very short time and didn't make a mess. Brian was incredibly helpful. He patiently walked me through all the steps to take if ever I needed to safely and efficiently drain the water heater - although this unit will probably never leak in my lifetime! And the valve work was artistic! The warranties were explained to me as well. Kudos! Thanks, guys!

Used these fools for some Home Warrenty plumbing issues. In their two visits they told me vastly different things, so I brought another gentleman over from BASS PLUMBING and he was able to fix the problem in around 30 min and WAS ABLE TO GUESS THAT IT WAS MODERN PLUMBING that came out before him. I hired them to help me replace all three of the toilets in my home. I provided the units as we were running on a tight budget and they preferred to work with different brands/products than we were interested. They provided me with a flat fee pricing per toilet. They were on time and their plumber was extremely courteous and professional. They swapped them all out in the time frame I was originally given and carried out the old units to the curb where they were picked up by the city. One of the toilets had a slight problem where the water was seeping from the tank into the bowl, causing it to waste water. And as soon as I called them they had the same plumber back out as quickly as they could and now all three are running great. I couldn't be more pleased with their service.

Had a plumber come out and we used our home warranty who referred them to us. We paid for the charge. My husband wanted to talk with me before cutting holes in the walls and the plumber stated we will not be charged for another trip with in 30’days to come out to do the work. The guy also stated there is a leak but he can’t find out exactly where it is at. So he was going to cut every where until he found it. So my husband wanted to make sure it was ok to do so.We have them on camera in our home and he clearly said that. That if we called back with in 30 days and said we will NOT charge you for another call out to do the work we will just charge you for the work done.We called back in 2 days to schedule for them to do the work. It took them 3 days to return our call to tell us they are going to charge out another $125 fee. I said no because we were not told that. That lady said “ I am the owner and he DID NOT SAY AND I AM TELLING YOU NO”I responded well how about this “we will never use you guys again. And I will make sure to review you” She said I was Threatening her and the callIs recorded and hung up. In no way was I threatening or mean. I said he did not say that and I have it videoed from my home security cameras.This company is extremely rude. The owner and careless and ultimately non professional. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. She was super unprofessional, she literally HUNG UP on my husband yesterday. It is now Monday and we still have no hot water. She played us all weekend and that’s not right! I have two little children at home that I care for as well as a sick mother inlaw, hot water is a MUST in my home. He was careful to check the status of all elements, conducted a thorough review of the water heater issues I asked about, then serviced the water heater and talked me through what he did - even taking the time to show me what had gone wrong that created the issue. After he was done with the service call, he made me aware of another issue and let me know issues could be associated, along with what to watch out for. He let me know that I needed to double check for coverage under my warranty and helped me understand what the next steps could be. He wrote up a summary report and the office sent me his notes in a digital version too. I AM A RAVING FAN and so grateful that Modern Plumbing and Backflow did the work for our family - they went above and beyond!

No one loves plumbing problems..... but it seems we all have to deal with it sometime. My homeowner insurance sent Triangle Plumbing out to fix my shower that had leaked through the ceiling into my living room. Ryan came in the scheduled time frame, and called to let me know he was on his way. He assessed the problem and then came back to make the necessary repairs. Ryan was professional and cleaned up the area following his work.

Warranty company referred us to them a couple months ago for an issue. It was a pain to get an appointment scheduled. When the plumber finally came out he didn't know what was causing a leak in the ceiling. After opening up the ceiling in our kitchen he still wasn't positive and told us to call back if it starts leaking a lot again. Someone else (also from triangle plumbing) came out a week later and decided it was probably coming from the washer pipes. He cut the hot water pipe in the ceiling of the kitchen without checking the flow of the water or even checking if the water was turned off to the house and water blew all over our kitchen and dining room. He left it like that and said he would come back after we moved our washer because he wouldn't do it or help me do it. We tried to call them to come back out multiple times and never got a response. Jamie is not easy to deal with either. Eventually we just decided to forget about going through the warranty company (because of triangle plumbing) and pay for everything ourselves. We called Cary Plumbing and they identified and fixed the issue in 30 minutes as well as reconnecting the pipe that triangle plumbing cut. The plumber from Cary Plumbing was shocked at the work that was done previously. The cost for the repair was far less than any quotes from triangle.

Home Warranty company selected this company to come repair a broken water line and toilet leak and I couldn't be happier. Great customer service began from minute one as customer service rep on phone was attentive and understanding of severity of issue (had no water in house due to water leak). She expedited my case on the schedule and kept me informed of scheduled appointment. Things only got better from there. Our technician, Cindy, showed up early, expertly diagnosed the issue, and made the repairs in a professional, quality and timely way. Less than an hour later, we had water, a fixed water line and a perfectly working toilet. I couldn't have been more impressed with Cindy's craftmanship. I’m sorry I ever began working with this company. Over the past two years, after repeated unsuccessful visits, all I have are a pile of bills and a stinky drain in my kitchen. I work out of my home, and at their last visit, he poured a toxic chemical down the drain that smelled so awful clients left my house. I called him back fifteen minutes after he left. My sink was filling up with black muck, and the smell was unbearable. He finally returned my call and told me he couldn’t come back that day. They told me the price to fix my problem and said they would not deduct the cost of the guy’s first unsuccessful visit.I’ve since had another company come look at it, and this is what they found (see pic). I wish I’d never started with Modern Plumbing. Beware.

The person who came out was very nice and professional. He had things working quickly and even double checked the order when he thought that one of the items we asked about would have to be a separate ticket with our warranty company. Once he discovered it was also on the order he fixed it right away. So we were thankful for that. I put the call in on Sat and received a call from the office on Monday with an 9-12 timeframe and within an hour had a call from the technician who arrived within 45-50 min. I was pleased and would use them again.

Modern Plumbing has been to my house twice, both times the plumber (happened to be the same guy) was very professional and explained what he was doing. Also he was very neat - he made sure when he left, he cleaned up after himself. Both times I was able to schedule my appointments fairly quick. The plumber took care of my concerns as I would have expected (installed 2 new sinks/plumbing and fixed a leak under my kitchen sink).

In my opinion, the professionalism from Modern Plumbing and Backflow, as well as its owner was completely lacking!After coming to my home to diagnose a problem involving a shower, we received a quote that indicated a modification was needed. When we called in to get an explanation, Jaime, who indicated that she is the owner of the company, was VERY unprofessional in her tone and the handling of my questions. She refused to explain the quote and refused to fully hear the questions that I was asking. She kept interrupting me as I was trying to ask a question and gain clarification, and then when I told her that she was not allowing me to answer her questions, she refused to complete the work as requested.Certainly, good customer service involves allowing customers to get clarification on quotes, especially when they exceed hundreds of dollars.It is my opinion that this company and its owner are very unprofessional and I am happy to find a more reputable and professional plumber to work with.

Had a warranty claim with uncovered items totally approx $1150. I asked what was covered and was quoted from triangle plumbing that my direct vent gas water heater can cost up to $2200 then she talked about a range from $1300 to $1800. Went back and forth a few times with warranty company and Triangle plumbing. Woman at triangle plumbing was very rude and had a nasty tone asking do you want a water heater or not!. Yeah, I do, just never from you. I found many plumbers willing to do the job for around $1500, and finally found someone to do it for $1250. Wish I could give negative stars.

Patrick was awesome. Called 30 min ahead of expected time to advise he was on the way and came on the front end of the 4 hour period given, not the tail end like most places. Sadly, Modern Plumbing stood us up 2 days in a row, citing emergencies promising to come the next day, then the NEXT day. Well, what was not an emergency on Thursday WAS an emergency by Sunday. In the end Tim the plumber DID come out @ 3PM on Sunday and resolved our issue w/i 1 hour.I can highly recommend Tim, super nice and efficient, not sure what to say about Modern Plumbing though.

It's been a long time since I've had a great experience with plumbing but Triangle Plumbing is a very caring and responsive company. They came right away after the first call and when the problem required another professional, the gave us an excellent recommendation for the referral. Troy, our plumber even called the next morning to check on us, gave us the reassurance that if we needed him he would come again and help until the other service could come out. I trust this company and ask for them when I call our home warranty company. I've used Triangle twice now and have never been disappointed.

Used them for a home warranty repair. Appointment was very quick and they showed up on time and claimed they fixed the problem. They never tested it so when I did, the leak was still there. I requested them to come back out and fix at which time they said the home warranty company would not cover the repair. Price was very high. Assessor quoted scope of work that did not occur. Said they would run a new power from breaker box to unit. That did not happen. They installed a junction box and ran a short line from an existing line and charged $535 for less than an hour’s work. It was a gouge and a rip off. When questioned about the charge the supervisor was rude.

The single star is for Tim, who was the first technician sent out to fix what we thought was a clog but HUNDREDS of dollars later found out was a break in the main sewer line. Tim was absolutely wonderful, professional, and as helpful as he could be. After all was said and done and after multiple trips by technicians who were not Tim, they diagnosed the line break but gave no further information as to location, depth, size of said break, and offered no view of the camera work they completed. They left me with no ability to adequately use the water in my home along with an absurd estimate that included use of a large excavator to tear up my yard and was literally TWICE what I ended up having to spend to get the line break repaired by another, more reputable, local company who made sure to do as little damage to my yard as possible. I trusted these folks because my warranty company contracted with them, but now I'm left questioning the legitimacy of the warranty company as well after this very disappointing experience.

Brian was not only on time called an appropriate time in advance .The entire time he was doing the install he was training someone and he was a good teacher and he left us with a clean spot-on job everything looks perfect it was in a timely manner they were polite and courteous knowledgeable and reviewed everything and made sure that the unit work before they left. Dismal. The individual who arrived at my home was unable or unwilling to do a proper diagnosis of an ignition fault on a tankless water heater, telling me it was some sort of issue with scale buildup without removing the front cover. Another plumber from a different service was able to fix the issue in 15 minutes. I was put into contact with them through a home warranty company, and many of the comments below about similar situations are unfortunately entirely consistent with my negative impression of their business ethics.

I would like to express my displeasure with Modern Plumbing and Backflow. I had a backflow preventer installed in November of 2018. Appointments were missed and communication was poor throughout the process. Brian showed up about 4 hours late the day it was finally installed and proceeded to tell me that the backflow could not be installed as originally quoted, or in the place that the initial Modern Plumbing tech said it would go. With the water inlet being in the ceiling, he also did not have a ladder that would allow him to reach the pipe, so I brought in one of mine.Brian's work did not pass inspection by the town of Clayton on a number of levels, and another crew from Modern Plumbing had to come back and re-mount brackets in addition to other things to finish the job. The inspector from the town of Clayton expressed to me that it was shoddy workmanship.The backflow recently started to leak from the ceiling. I called Modern, advised them that the leak was coming from the ceiling and they said they would send someone out Monday, which they did. Brian showed up, again without a tall enough ladder to do the job. He said he was not told that the leak was in the ceiling. Upon looking things over, Brian said that the leak was probably caused by someone bumping into the pipe. Because it was someone bumping into the pipe rather than Modern's poor workmanship, Jamie quoted me less than $300 to replace a couple fittings. They stated that they did guarantee their work, but not when the leak is not their fault. The bumping into the pipe was a convenient way to avoid responsibility for the poor workmanship.There are three brackets holding the pipe to the wall below where the leak occurred. The pipe does not move when bumping it. There is no way that someone bumping the pipe could have caused it to leak. This is simply an excuse to RIPOFF the customer after doing a poor job to begin with.In addition, I had a substantial overcharge, actually being charged twice for the same thing, which Modern disputed with me until I proved it to them when paying for the job initially. At that point they refunded the overcharge. I would not have received a refund if I had not caught and disputed the overcharge.Modern Plumbing and Backflow gives a bad name to contractors in general. I should have paid more attention to the negative reviews up front.

With due diligence, Matt discovered the problem was with a septic tank that I didn't know the property had. Matt referred me to a company that he knows to be as thorough as he. Bottom line, all of my drains were optimal before the close of business.

Our water heater was acting up, and we have company coming next week for Christmas. This was a pretty urgent issue since no hot water = a bunch of smelly disgusting family members all packed into one house for a week. I contacted our home warranty company over the weekend, and got a phone call on Monday morning from Modern Plumbing, who set up an appointment for the following day (today). Andy called me at noon to let me know they would be arriving within 45 minutes. He and Tom quickly diagnosed our problem, and he then clearly explained the procedure and costs to my husband and me.Within 2 hours they had finished all the repairs. No smelly family for us next week! These two guys provided amazing service and were a pleasure to work with. Thank you Modern Plumbing, and specifically Andy and Tom!

I have the water heater warranty through Duke Energy. My water heater went out in 2/28/20. Called Duke who promptly called Modern our to repair. Due to the fact my water heater was the original in my house that was built in 1995 they could not put it back under my house in crawlSpace because new ones are bigger. So had to order an Aqua Hut and run new lines outside the house. I had no hot water for 2 full weeks and the customer service was awful due to themNot reaching out to me as Duke has promised they would. I hate to give bad reviews because I feel the people working for this company are not at fault but someone dropped the ball on this. I boiled water for 2 weeks to take baths and do dishes. I don’t recommend them. I got my hot water on 3/13/20. The guys who came out to fix it were excellent as well as all the ladies on the phone calls.

No show, but claims they called and showed up at our home and left a note on the door. No note on the door, no calls on either phone. Manager said I was playing games, called me rude and hung up on me. I have never been treated with such a hostile manner before in my life. I have reported them to our warranty company and hope that no one else has to deal with them. Awful experience.

Be Careful. Shady billing, Horrible customer service, and Highly unprofessional. I asked for an itemized breakdown of my bill, which is a completely normal ask within the services industry. Immediately the phone representative became agitated and did not want to provide the itemization. She responded with, you are being charged for parts, repair, and our warranty. I again politely asked her for a break down of the charges, to include how much was for parts and how much was for labor (again, this is a standard ask). She huffed and puffed on the phone and then transferred me to another person. It seemed a little weird but I passed it off as she was having a bad day and thought maybe I'd have better luck with the next person. To my dismay the manager was more rude, confrontational, and unprofessional than the call rep. When she finally gave me a break down of the costs, I politely advised her that the numbers she provided did not equal the final bill that I would be charged. Instead of explaining the difference in costs, her EXACT response was, when you go to the grocery store to purchase milk, you don't ask for an itemized bill on the cost of the milk, do you?... To say the least, I was floored by the dimwitted analogy, the lack of respect to a paying customer, and the fact it seemed she was attempting to hide charges for which I was to be billed. And to top it off, they said I was the one being rude. WOW! Please be aware of this company, there seems to be shady dealings on customer billing and the staff is unprofessional from reps to manager. I highly recommend you go somewhere else for your plumbing needs! Good luck in your search.

This is the worst plumbing company to use. First impressions are very important in business and you would think that winning a customer over is important. These people came to our house and assured us that they would not touch it unless it was covered by our warranty and if it was, that they would charge the deductible and be done. They came and put two 10x10 holes in the ceiling just to caulk a drain pipe. They even used one of my tools because they were unprepared and then proceeded to charge the $100 for about $20 worth of work. Not only did they not get a go ahead from the warranty company, but they left the holes in the ceiling, did not contact back to let us know what was going on with fixing what they messed up, and didn't even submit the work order to the warranty company. After over a week of working with the warranty company and having us call them, they denied that they made a mistake and tried to laugh at us and said that we had nothing to argue with them in court. They are unprofessional and irresponsible. I don't suggest that anyone use this company and don't understand how they are even on the list to be used by the warranty company. They should be shut down.

FINAL WORD: They gave an outrageous estimate to repair. $700 above what the home warranty would cover. I got a second opinion and sure enough they were way overpriced, I received the new water tank, added an expansion tank and had everything put up to code all for $300.00 less then they estimated. Bad service, unprofessional and overpriced. My opinion... STAY AWAY!!!FOLLOW UP:: After complaining to my warranty company they did return later that day to diagnose my water heater problem. They have improved their service and while I increasing their rating I am still waiting to see how thing proceed from here.ORIGINAL:Appointment from 10-12. Tech showed up early and left. I attempted to call tech at 10:04 and 10:10 a few mere minutes after appoint time no answer. Left message. Finally get thru to tech at 10:38 he tells me he has moved on and will have to reschedule Wife took off work to be home for appointment. Called office, rude, blamed it all on me despite our being there at scheduled time. Will not use again, would not recommend to others.

In our experience, the Front Office Staff including a person calling herself Chrissy are unreliable, untruthful, unresponsive, rude and unprofessional. They can't keep an appointment and could not care less.Better off going elsewhere.They refused to allow me to voice my concerns to the General Manager or Office Manager. I guess they have a significant Covid Problem based on what Chrissy stated as to why they were short staffed.

Nick was very professional and extremely helpful. JOB WELL DONE!!!Found problem later (~45 days after install) with faucet plunger from original installation. Owner would not send someone to investigate without additional service charge. Disappointed in response.

Customer service was disgusting. I called to clarify a quote I received and was told the individual who answered the phone was new and did not have an answer, that someone who was more knowledgeable would call me back shortly. That was fine, except no one ever called me back. Called the next day and when transferred to someone who did know, she had the absolute worst attitude! I wanted to clarify what my warranty company would cover and if there was a way to do it within their constraints. She would not even let me explain anything before cutting me off and telling me that if that was what was put on the invoice, that was the only way they would do it. Continued to have an attitude and when I asked if there was someone else I could talk to and get more clarification, she said she was ending the call, she wouldn't talk to me anymore, and I could call back tomorrow to talk to the owner, but it wouldn't get me anywhere. Very poor customer service on the phone. Which is really a shame because the service tech that came out was a nice guy.

My boyfriend met with them and said they were easy to talk to and were quick and professional. On my end, they sent texts, called and were great with communication as well as let me know when they would be there. I loved that they contacted me to let me know when they were in route and if we would be there.

Jerry did a fantastic job at coming in today, identifying the issue and giving me really good advice on how to maintain the garbage disposal and what to to look for in case any other issues arise. Super professional, made sure I didn't have any questions and he cleaned and tested all equipment before leaving. Highly recommend this company :)

I would highly suggest using a different plumbing company. In the process of purchasing a new home, the inspection indicated that there was water leaking from one of the bathrooms under the house. WE had Modern come look at the problem and they said the leak was due to the bathtub faucet not having proper caulking. They applied caulk to the faucet and said if there continued to be issues, to call back. After a few months we discovered that the water pipe in the guest bathroom was pouring water under the house when it the shower was being used. Unfortunately we did not discover this until the guest bathtub and shower was used. When we called Modern to have them fix the problem they failed to see, they said it had been too long since they came out the first time and that they would not be coming to fix what they failed to see in the first place. They do not honor customer satisfaction. The men who came out in the first place were very friendly, however, they did not look at the pipes in the house and did not properly fix the issues. Because the guest bathroom is rarely used we did not discover the main issues and Modern would not come fix it when this was discover. We are very disappointed in Modern and would suggest seeking other professionals for your plumbing needs.

I had an emergency plumbing issue today, which is a Sunday. Andrew came out to my home. Andrew professional and very polite. He seemed to be very concerned about my issue and told me he would do anything he can, to get the issue fixed today..I have not experienced this kind of customer service in a long time. As well, Jamie in the office took my multiple calls, on a Sunday and tried her best to help as well. If you need an emergence plumber, please call Modern Plumbing and Backflow

Use at your OWN RISK!Had to use this company for Home Warranty leaking tub. First visit, they said tub gasket needed replace and needed to order stopper.Second visit to fix gasket, different team said that the plumbing entire plumbing needed to be replaced ($499.99 value). Home warranty denied.In doing so, Modern Plumbing took out my tub drain pieces and will not return. They said it's their word against mine.Home Warranty allowed second plumbing opinion. Another Plumbing company came out said plumbing fine, just need gasket replaced. Had to not only order new gasket but entire tub drain kit since Modern Plumbing will not return.The overall experience with them has been horrible from customer service, recommending unnecessary work, and finally stealing my hardware. YUCK!

We just had GREG D, plumber, yesterday, Nov 30. He was fantastic. ( And not only was he a professional at his craft, he was also a very nice, polite, hard-working young man, a true delight---as service professionals like him are so hard to find these days)........He fixed 2 plumbing issues, 1 running, leaky toilet and 1 sink that had been partially stopped up for years. In fact, we had already had 3 handy men and 2 plumbers in the last 2 years work on that sink and none could fix like Greg did. He showed me what he had done, and it was an impressive fix. This situation could really have gotten bad had he not fixed it when he did.......We have already rehired Greg and Modern for next week, for a 2nd toilet which is also in need of some major repair and work or we will be in trouble. There is clearly a hidden leak below the toilet that is wetting and affecting the flooring. Greg looked briefly at it yesterday and told us what we need to do...so, he was the man we want back to handle this job......Everyone from Modern has been great, efficient, helpful, fast, and friendly...We highly recommend these folks...Thank you Modern....you very quickly saved us big problems ....J Waters, Chapel Hill

I would not recommend them they came out on a Home warranty to tell me that the Hose Frost free anti-siphon outdoor faucet had split due to Freezing. Not covered under the Sears Home warranty. So they quote me $285.00 to replace it wow. It cost me $60.00 for a quote this was my deductible for the Home warranty. The Home Depot price for the faucet $28.99 I replaced it using the wonderful SharkBite 3/4 in. Brass Push-to-Connect Coupling cost $8.42. My labor ½ hour total cost $40.12 in parts from Home Depot….If you have deep pockets they are for you

I used Modern Plumbing for a leak in a pipe under my home. They were assigned to fix the problem through my warranty company. They showed up to my home within about an hour and a half of me making the claim. They were able to fix the problem fast and explained everything to me. They were very nice and professional. Would definitely consider using again. Thank you for helping fix my leak in such a short time frame!!

This company is horrible. It took two visits to fix the issue I was having. The first plumber was arrogant and lazy. He was told that was not the issue but did not listen. It took another plumber to come out. They are overpriced and did not do any repair. He told us what we had to do to fix the issue. Then when i tried to redolvebl the issue with then they was of no help. I had to go to the BBB where now they are stating lies. I do not recommend them to anyone.

Jerry and Greg were on time, very professional and pleasant, and were quiet and efficient so I could work from home while they repaired my toilet. They fully explained what they were doing and made sure there were no leaks. Would definitely use again.
