I have had Fatman Plunbing for 4 repairs over the past few years from toilet repairs, new toilet installation and whole new hot water heater replacement.
They did a great job on all of this. Recently, my daughter called for a kitchen leak involving dishwasher, & disposal. They totally replaced all of the pipes and got everything working properly. Great plumbers!

Had a tankless heater that got knocked out by a summer storm while we were away on vacation. Called these folks up and they literally had me a new install same day! Oh yeah, did I mention this was on a Friday, AND July 1!?! Fantastic response, outstanding product, flawless installation. Thank you!

Bobby was great, communicated well prior to arrival, diagnosed quickly and charge was MORE than reasonable! I would use these guys again and would recommend to my family and friends!

Signora (I don’t think I spelled it correctly),the plumber, that installed the toilet, was excellent. He showed up on time. He was professional and polite. He wore those bootie shoes and even utilized a broom to clean up. He left on time also so that I could leave for an appointment.

They charge $90 just come give an estimate. I am in sales and that is absolutely absurd. Any company should give free estimates. WOW ARE THE SKETCHY! Just got a call right back from them saying they can waive the fee and give me a free estimate. I don’t do buisiness with companies that try to scam you!!!

Dave and Katelyn were very knowledgeable and friendly. We would highly recommend them. They quickly replaced our water heater and shared lots of tips. Thank you both!

UPDATED REVIEW: I wrote the review at the bottom of this page 3 years ago from the heart! I write this update today, 06/01/2023, with the same level of passion!

The drain line from the water softener installed by Fatman. as noted below, separated at a barbed connector and flooded my newly encapsulated crawlspace. Once the source of the issue was determined, I called Fatman and requested assistance. Service Tech - Bobby was brought on the line and he immediately started with excuses.. including confusing my home with another that he claimed to have leaking copper water lines. The scheduler indicated a supervisor - Brian would be coming out the same afternoon to evaluate the problem. She called back approx 30 mins later to confirm Brian would come out in the afternoon, but time was unknown... I thanked her again for her assistance and noted I had cancelled afternoon plans and would be home waiting until Brian arrived.

Bobby arrives approx 30 mins later and after discussing an issue with an employee on his cell phone, joins me in the crawlspace I had already entered to wait for him. Upon viewing the flooded space and the drain line hanging from the floor joists, he notes I've never seen one blow out like that! Then he starts to name off parts needed for repair and noted that it's out of warranty and that I would be charged for the drain line repair. He also advised that Fatman accepted no responsibility for the flooding and that I could call a restoration company for address the water removal.

Given my prior experience with Fatman staff during water heater installation and the water softener, I anticipated and expected a higher level of customer service... I expected a higher level of goodwill from the company!

I am disappointed in this local service provider and am now searching for a new plumbing company to service my future needs. I no longer recommend Fatman for any one that expects a company to stand behind their workmanship.

Wow! I've been a homeowner for over 40 years and never had the customer service from a plumbing company like I received from FATman for installation of a water heater and water softener!

Armed with recommendations from friends and neighbors, I called and Josh came out to provide a timely and reasonable quote with great advice and no pressure. Josh and other team members returned for the installation and provided exceptional customer service and a top quality installation! Thank you gentlemen for a job well done!

I highly recommend FATman for any plumbing need and will certainly call them again myself... but I hope it's a long time off! :-)

This was the third time I called FATman Plumbing my experience was delightful as always. After my water heater gave up after 17 years (good job water heater RIP) I called FATman... Fatman came and confirmed my water heaters is now with other good water heaters in heaven. Amen.

Although the pricing is higher than some other quotes than I got. (Paid $2048 total including the $600 Water Heater) I would rather pay a premium for my fellow neighbors than someone I don't know.

First time they brought the heater it had a big dent at the bottom, looked like it has been dropped. I requested to be changed and FATman did it without a fuss. (no it wasn't a small dent Bobby :) )

Took a while to replace it but so far so good. I will definetely encourage to use their services but It might be good to get your heater somewhere else. It would be way cheaper.

When I first requested my appointment online, I was very specific I have a undermount sink needs to reseal and redone the entire kitchen caulk. The lady who picks up the phone is very unpleasant, obviously impatient and difficult to communicate with. It’s scheduled in between 1-3pm, at 2:45pm I called, same lady was very impatient and said the tec will be there in 10mins, ended he showed up at 3:30pm and told me this is the job he can’t do (then why m I listed what’s my problem in the first place) so he called whoever and said the other guy can do it with however amount (which is almost two times more than I paid for)

I saw they have lots of good review and decided to give it a try, in their website seems like they care about technician’s time, gas mileage etc as when u schedule the appointment, there should be 24 hours cancellation and if tec comes out to see what’s the problem, there’s required fee for it.
Wonder is it just THEIR TIME is valid, not others, as being late and rude and came, and can’t even do the job as I listed in the first place, beside of wasting money just wasting my time. If u value your own time, treat other ppl the same!!!!!!

Dylan was fantastic. He showed up as expected, was very easy to speak with, he showed me all the areas of concern. And he went above and beyond on recommendations for replacements. The actual install of my new faucet and toilets was fantastic. 10/10 would recommend and I'll absolutely use them again.

I discovered a water leak in front of my home and contacted FATman plumbing. They scheduled an appointment, sent me updates on arrival time and arrived precisely when they said they would. The crew was Katelyn and David. They were fabulous. They investigated my concerns, went under the house to inspect for causes. They took pictures, showed them to me and explained the problem in detail. Turns out it was not a water leak at all, it was coming from my HVAC water condensation drain line and told me how to easily remedy the problem. They refused to bill me for their inspection. I am so impressed with the FATman company and crew and they will be my go to company for my future plumbing needs.

Called Fatman Plumbing when my water heater decided to leak with no warning. They came out promptly to provide a free estimate. Since I'm handy and could do the job myself (and had already removed the old one), I only needed some guidance on current code and proper installation. For a minimal trip charge, Brian, the tech they sent, got me all squared away and provided the assistance I was looking for. I can't say enough good things about Brian who was concise, friendly and knowledgeable. I recommend this business and particularly Brian to anyone needing plumbing repairs. It's great to know that there are still businesses and employees that go beyond expectations. So many unfortunately fall short, but Fatman Plumbing is a solid choice!

This was the third time I’ve used Fatman plumbing in the last 3-4 years. On each occasion I have been very satisfied with their work.

They work quickly, and have always done a professional job. They are extremely polite and explain what needs to be done.

I was referred to this company to repair our kitchen sink that needed to be sealed back to the countertop.

I called on Friday and Stephanie scheduled my appointment for the following Monday. By the way, Stephanie’s customer service is excellent!

Brian came out to our home this morning around 9:30a to look at the kitchen sink and possible repair it. In less than a minute he diagnosed the issue and said it would take approximately 2-3 hours at $150-$250/hr. in addition to the $87 service call. He then recommended that we call a countertop company to fix the issue as those companies typically work on the type of fix we needed.
My husband and I both agreed for Brian to repair the issue since he was already here OR we would’ve just paid an $87 service fee just for him to come out and refer us to another company. When you are paying for a service by the hour, the last thing you want to do is talk to the repair technician.. This job could’ve taken way less time if he didn’t give us a life story or asked questions not related to the service and got straight to the job. We paid $430 for the repair including service fee which is a lot for this type of fix…

Also, he did not have a mask on upon entry, instead it was around the collar of his shirt.

Brian arrived a little early and was able to fix the pressure on a sink faucet, unclog a slow drain, replace a valve that was causing a drip as well as install 4 new handheld showerheads. He was friendly and professional. He addressed all the problems we needed in just two hours! Would definitely recommend.

I had my water heater replaced. FATman plumbing were early, identified the problem quickly and provided options for me. I decided to replace and they were able to replace it same day in an hour and a half. They explained things to me along the way and I felt they genuinely cared about me and their work. I would highly recommend them for any plumbing needs.

County notified me of a leak due to excessive water usage (45,000 gallons!!) Determined outside between meter and house. After an unsuccessful visit from another plumbing company, I found Fatman on a Facebook group with excellent reviews. I am so glad I did!!
They responded to my message right away and made an appointment next day. A few minutes later, I received a callback that a tech was available same day. The technician Matthew B. arrived shortly after and was very kind and knowledgeable. He found the leak immediately just above the meter box and promptly repaired it. The price of the repair was very fair and reasonable! I’m impressed! Definitely recommend!!!

Excellent Customer Service! We have used Fatman Plumbing a couple of times. Professional staff from taking the call through the actual service! Same day service and very prompt arriving in their time frame. They were very knowledgeable in helping us to select the right products to replace the older models (water heater and garbage disposal). Harry, our latest technician, was very personable and explained all. Highly recommend this company for any plumbing services!

We discovered our water heater had sprung a really bad leak at 3pm today. It is now 7:20pm and Chris just finished up installing a new one for us. That is incredible customer service people! He came out quickly and kept us up to date on the status from the initial diagnostic visit to being able to find the last water heater in stock in the Charlotte area (that would fit in our crawl space). He secured the parts and came back tonight, after hours, to install it so my kids can jump in the shower. It is so wonderful to find contractors like Fat Man. He has earned a customer for life!! Plumber was professional and on time, and did what I asked. He was here one hour almost exactly and provided a new 8 connector hose with rubber gasket under the sink. For $339 dollars for this is a bit steep so I can't say I would use again.

Edit: The owner left a lengthy voicemail on my phone shortly after this message posted. Sir, your employee acted professionally and was knowledgeable and courteous as I said before. I just had a slight issue with your pricing schedule. I wish you the best.

FATman Plumbing has been my go to plumbing service since I moved here from NY in 2016. In my first house they came and helped me with putting in my water softener and then servicing it. They replaced two toilets and never had an issue again. I have recommended them to all of my clients and they have all said they were on time, courteous and professional. When I moved to my new home they came and out a whole water filter system, which has been the best investment ever.

Update after the water heater installation: Excellent job! Ours was a difficult attic install due to the original unit not fitting back down without taking the attic stairs off. Josh and crew arrived exactly on time and the job was done beautifully within 3 hours. The owner, Chris, also came by to introduce himself and ensure all was well. I’m so happy to once again have fantastic water pressure and hot water without delay!

Called this morning for a quote on a hot water heater. They sent out Josh and he was here within an hour and a half with a smile. He was very professional and knowledgeable. I’m impressed with our quote and looking forward to working with this company for any of our plumbing needs.

Very responsive (arrived within an hour of logging a call) and the engineer (Brian) was very professional and explained the problem, planned resolution and costs before he started work. The issue was then resolved quickly and efficiently - an all round good experience!

Our repair man was on time and found the problem. He left and returned shortly with the part needed and completed the repair. He was helpful and friendly. I learned a lot about my sewage lift pump by watching him work. A most pleasant experience. Fat Boy Plumbing is lucky to have such a good employee.

Jeremy came within an hour of my calling. Incredibly responsive service! He was super nice, very friendly and very knowledgeable. We had had low water pressure in our house for years. We had another plumber come years ago but they didn’t help the situation. Jeremy came and fixed out problem by upping the water pressure on the PRV valve. He made sure I was satisfied, which I AM, and made sure I had his number if I have any questions or problems. I found out they are located close to our home in Waxhaw. I will definitely call them again for any plumbing needs. I highly recommend!

called Fatman because of low water pressure... they have a sterling reputation on social media and absolutely lived up to the professionalism and service everyone raves about.. unfortunately, they were unable to solve my problem since it's with my well pump and nothing inside the house... but Fatman referred me to a local, reputable well company who is also held in high regard by their customers

I totally forgot about this review and updating it... turns out I NEEDED Fatman to fix my issue... and they did. Brought them back again to install a water tank for my well. Great company. Hire them if you can!!

I have used Chris and team in the past for a busted PRV valve and what a mess, but these guys are AMAZING! It all starts with Chris as the leader of the company, his training of the workers and his expectations of them providing Best in Class service. Each of his employees, from the first interaction with the office to the interactions in our home, is based on Best in Class customer service. These guys take time explaining issues and offer multiple resolutions. They are very clean and neat, pay special attention to the home and they clean up after themselves. Very responsive and professional company. I have referred FATman to a lot of people and all have been satisfied.

I love this service. They are very responsive, very easy to communicate with, and extremely polite. We’ve had multiple repairs done by FATman around our house over the years and I’ve never had a repair that required a callback, and I’ve never had an invoice that was unreasonable.

I requested to have a bathroom sink drain hooked up, since I renovated one of our bathrooms. The drain for the new sink didn't match the drain for the old sink. It was off about an inch or so. The plumber came out and did a great job. But then, the total cost was a complete sticker shock. Nothing on the website told me there was $99 service/dispatch fee. Even the text that we received from Fatman did not alert us of this. Then, add the $200 cost to do the actual job. It cost me over $300 to do a job I thought would be very simple for the professionals. Nothing against FATman. They did a great job. But I think the breakdown of the costs should have been told to me before I accepted, rather than be told after the fact.

They did a wonderful job with replacing my water heater. I called them concerning my water heater leaking and had someone at my house in less than 30 minutes. The whole job was done in about two hours. Josh did a great job, very professional and knowledgeable. I highly recommend them.

I was immediately impressed with how quickly FATman responded. Both Joshua and Dillon kept me informed with what was going on and they both did a superior job getting the old water heater out of the attic and getting the new one up in there. The installation is very clean and they diligently brought everything up to code from the 29 year old installation of the previous one. Dillon throughly explained the operation of the new heater. I loved their sense of humor - made for a very pleasant experience in every way.

Installed a new kitchen faucet in less than 1/2 hour. Great work. I have used Fatman plumbing since Chris started servicing Waxhaw. Have never been disappointed and have provided many referrals from my neighborhood who have also been pleased with Fatman service.

FatMan has always responded with incredible service. Their owner Chris has work ethic not seen in many contractors. I whole heartedly recommend FatMan Plumbing because their service is phenomenal and their prices are too. You’re not worrying about services you don’t need. You get honest evaluations and honest work.

Paid $87 for house call to have representative come out and say it’s covered by manufacturer and show me a 1-800 number for me to call(not even write it down or send it to me). That way I can call and have parts sent , to then have to reschedule for install which will be another $124. Bad hospitality in my opinion! It’s a $30 part and 15 minutes of time to repair, iv done it before(I’m sure someone who does this regularly can do it quicker). I paid to have it fixed not to have to call a manufacturer

They were on time. Both Brian and Alex were wonderful with a great attitude. They thoroughly explained everything to me in a language that I could understand. I had three other companies look at my issues and i couldn't understand a anything they were saying.
Fatman estimate was by far the least expensive, the other companies were way higher doing less work.
I will be recommending FATman to everyone that will ask me for a plumbing company

Thanks to Ralph for doing a great job today. Very attentive and explained in detail problem with garbage disposal. Company was quick placing order and scheduling service. I certainly would call and use Fatman again!

Brian is my guy! He was on time, knew the house we just bought (he did work here for the last owner), alerted me of a possible problem and took care of it on the spot. He stayed until all my questions were answered and have a plan set up. I know we are well cared for.

Called them and they were available. Kept us up to date for appointment. Showed up on time in uniform and checked made sure we had no leak and installed a faucet and told me about a warranty I didn’t know I had. Trustworthy company

It’s a Sunday night and our main line was backed up. We couldn’t use any of our facilities. I called FATman and within an hour Robin called back. She was calming and detailed. A couple of hours later Josh and David we’re here fixing the problem. They were professional, considerate and hard working. I’m really impressed with this company!

I moved into an older apartment in Charlotte last year and unfortunately I have had a few plumbing problems . I have used FAT man plumbing repeatedly and have been impressed with the quality of their work. My questions have been taken seriously and the folks carefully explain their work process. I would continue to use their services and recommend them to other residents in my building.

They were able to schedule an appointment the same day. They were very friendly and responsive! They took their time to look at each thing I needed help with. I wish all companies were as amazing with customer service as Fat Man!

I requested a quote for water tank replacement and Chris came out quickly. He agreed that tank needed replacement due to its age and showed me that it had in fact leaked in the past. He found a replacement tank that would fit through the attic opening and his quote was more than fair. He made every effort to work with me on the best possible solution and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend him for any plumbing needs.

Fatman plbg came out and replaced my hot water tank and two toilets. They completed everything in just a couple of hours and I Couldn’t be happier with their quick service! Highly recommend them for many plumbing needs!

Jeremy was very knowledgeable - he quickly identified the issue, replaced a shower cartridge, and the issue was resolved (despite the old one being firmly stuck in place!). Pricing was very fair, no attempts to upsell or anything, just great customer service!

Fatman Plumbing was great! So we had BRIAN WILSON today at our home, we had him install an Insinkerator Quiet series and a Reverse osmosis system which was VERY affordable, he was an awesome guy, good to talk too, and explained the process, he brought all of his tools, had everything he needed besides one thing and he let us know immediately. We have been using FATman for years and they always do great quality work. When you find someone that stands behind their work and always follows through, you stick with that business! Ken does an excellent job, and thoroughly explains everything.

Arrived earlier than expected, which was nice. Diagnosed the problem and told me that when I select a new faucet he will install. He is a known technician to me and I am a known customer to him, and the relationship is respectful and honest.

We called FATman to repair a leak in our hot water lines and to re-pipe as much as they could throughout the house without cutting into walls since we've been getting about one leak a year from our old plumbing. We worked with Dylan who was professional, showed up on time, and didn't mind answering all my plumbing questions as I had done some DIY work and like to learn when I can.

We also had a drain line broken in our backyard that turned out to be from a neighbors house. Dylan stayed longer than he needed to after the initial visit so he could help me along with someone from Waxhaw Public Works figure out the best course of action to fix it.

We're so pleased with the price and the work that we're canceling our home warranty which mostly covered plumbing problems because FATman was that much easier to deal with than any warranty repair.

Not only did Ken repair a faucet which was in dire need of being replaced, but also helped fix some pressure issues in the house. Ken was kind, and detailed on what the issue was and how to prevent it from occurring again. He also cleared out an unclogged drain that was on its way to growing its own life sized monster in there.

I had a leak (under my sink) from my dishwasher. I had an appliance repair service out to fix it and the tech was really concerned about having to order a new hose, how difficult it would be, grumble grumble, yada yada. He tried to repair a torn hose with a clamp and some silicone but it just leaked all over. That was a waste of $160 and two service calls. I thought a plumber might be the answer and sure enough a FATman tech fixed the job and did not need to remove the dishwasher or order new hoses. He actually ended up fixing some other piping issues under the kitchen sink and never grumbled about what a pain it all was. This was $160 well spent. Great service and attitude and a job well done.

Fat Man Plumbing is my go-to company for all of my plumbing needs! They do great work and take pride in everything they do.
Brian has been my tech more than once and I enjoy him a lot. Great guy and great service too!

Josh was professional, knowledgeable, fixed the issue in no time, and gave us some helpful household plumbing tips. And he just was plain honest. I was relieved that a contractor came, did what they said they would, and for the price they said. Terrific experience!

After our call space flooded they came in and immediately replaced our water heater that was run for a good price and with such helpful and friendly service not to mention they helped me temporarily fix a problem until I could get the proper company out to fix it. I’ve used them for several things and am always impressed with their speed and quality!

Great experience working with this company. They did the work quickly and efficiently and answered all of my questions (of which I had many) in terms a lay person could understand. They were also fairly priced, especially when compare
to some of the larger companies in the area who quoted nearly twice the cost for the same work.

I loved that I was able to book an appointment online. I also loved that fees were listed clearly when booking online. Our tech arrived on time and fixed our toilet quickly. I will definitely use them again.

This showed to me a level of care and service so often missing from service suppliers nowadays.

Joshua and his helper (wish I could remember his name) was great. Got to the house early and didn’t waste any time trying to find my leak. What I thought was going to be an expensive fix turned out to be that the flappers in my toilets needed some adjustments. Adjustments were made and problem solved. Thanks!!!

Employees had to be asked to wear masks. The older gentleman had a slight attitude and was not that nice. He was slightly edgy. We have been using this service for years and have never had any issues with Chris. We were actually disappointed in how we were treated:

We upgraded from 40 gallons water heater to 50 gallons. We were promised city inspection as part of it. After installing, they would not get it inspected. After multiple phone calls and calling city found out they don’t have bond with Mecklenburg county so they cannot actually work in county. Now I cannot raise permit since work was done by FatMan plumbing. Please check if they have permit to work before working with them. I have no idea if the work meets code or not.

Plumber did good job of repairing leak in copper pipe and explaining why he used sharkbites rather than soldering our 40-some year old pipes. Arrived early. ? Neither the plumber nor his trainee wore a mask. They didn't take the hint that I was wearing one. Good job at a reasonable price, but I have to knock off a star for poor covid hygiene.

Edit 9/19 - Chris contacted me and said that he has instructed the plumbers working for his company to wear masks on customer visits. I appreciate FATman's concern for their customers. Five-star company! ⭐

Very personable, professional and clean workspace. No leaks and perfect function with the new kitchen faucet. Shower/tub drain now evacuates water efficiently. Would definitely use FATman again.

The service technician arrived quickly and addressed the issue skillfully. Everything was amazing except that the parts and installation charges were little higher than usual.

Our toilet was backing up and busted the wax ring and had some leaking on the floor. They quickly diagnosed the issue was a clog in our sewer pipe and were able to clean it out.

Katelyn and David replaced a water heater due to an emergency situation. They were professional and wore masks. They answered all of my questions and documented everything for insurance purposes. I would definitely use them again.

Service guys were very polite and professional. Work was done to repair multiple things from an inspection report and they were able to repair everything for me in very little time. Will definitely recommend them to others!
