I installed new system but within three months I had to let their rude technician in my house more than five times. Not only their technicians their dispatcher is also so rude. Luckily I am within there warranty time so that they are still trying to fix it. if they couldn’t fix it I will have them uninstall the unit. So plz never use them they are terrible. They do not have good customer service. I am tired.

To be honest, HOW THIS PEOPLE WORK WITH HOME DEPOT?????? My mom bought a house and needed a new ac/heat system . We went to Home Depot and they help us with everything and they work with this people. They say the system is new, which I don’t believe. October 2018-2019 we made multiple phone calls for an entire year complaining about the system. For them it’s nothing wrong because they are not the ones who lives in this house. Our concerns, still the same. If the temperature is 28F okay they said “it won’t turn off at all for 3 hours and it’s normal to be warm,” but why the heat it’s not warm hot it’s mad cold like the ac. The house is always cold, we live like we don’t have a heat unit in this house, like we live inside if a fridge. The house has insulation, everything is fine. My room needed two vents and because they don’t want to do the job they said was okay. We tried to return, they always said “we are going to fix it and I’m sorry” for an entire year until when we had the time to return the unit and their warranty idk for what, they never fix the issues. The vents need the duck tape things they leave it like that. Now when they arrive to your door is $100 dollars + whatever they are going to do to the machine, to do nothing and leave it exactly the same or worst. At this point I only want to throw the entire unit to the trash.
I called a day ago to get help. A guy that I could barely understand took my info and told me someone would call me back. Why can't you set an appointment now?STILL they haven't called back.

Andrew was very professional and polite. He responded to our issue promptly and repaired our AC fast.
After spending 5 hours trying to figure out what was wrong with my furnace (as if I knew what I was doing) , I've decided to wait for the next day to continue to fix my broken Furnace on my own. My wife who was freezing, (since it was 38 degrees outside) was not having it anymore, broke my manly ego and told me that it was time to leave it to the experts. Reluctantly, I contacted ARS, they immediately sent Andrew. This truly knowledgeable and professional technician, who (made things worse for my ego) figured out the problem in less than 1 minute and fixed it. He took the time to explain the problem, and even though it was late (10 pm), treated us as if we were family and he had nowhere better to be. If Andrew is a true representation of how ARS deal with all of their customers you are then going to be in great hands. They came out to give me a system checkup he found a lot if stuff that I needed to replace I have an old unit but I get it serviced every 2 years now my unit inside the house was replaced 2 years ago I understood I may need some freon later l have home warranty that includes the heat pump and unit the tech said we don't deal with home warranty they are a rip off I told him some are but I've had the same one for many years they've replace my hot water heater my refrigerator my dishwasher and the inside heatpump unit the estimate was 3,000 I am a senior on a fixed income that whole list was over priced by the way I have used the AC since that visit it's very cold for the estimate they gave me someone could put a little more with 3,000 and get a whole new unit
Don't show up on time, and blatantly lie about their business. Stay far away, better to use someone on craigslist.

Rescheduled my appointment only for them to no call no show on the new date. I couldn’t recommend them. I wasted my little time I had after work waiting for them to come, only to have my time wasted. I will find another HVAC service.
Immediately wanted to sell a brand new system instead of the option of repair. We had second person come out and get the job done, but also found potential sabotage from the day prior. A wire had been disconnected making the motor overheat. I was told in no way could that wire of come loose on its own. Run fast from them, and get a second opinion always l. Our correct repair 550$ Versus a new 16,000$ system. Predator behavior

I worked with Adante. I checked around with multiple companies about replacing my AC unit and My furnace some places wanted to charge me an 6900 to install a Goodman 7000 plus just to install a Trane and this was just the coil and the ac not including the furnace. Adante informed me that my furnace was near its end my house was built in 1998 so 21 years old he would price match with my other companies and get me down to a comfortable range within my budget he asked me what I thought a fair price was so his contractors get work and I get my four year old daughter AC we came together on a Deal we both felt like was fair. This is what you call good business. If you use this company ask for Adante.

Wrong diagnosis, tech wanted to charge me nearly $600 for an inducer motor, the problem was a dirty hose from inducer motor to pressure switch. Per advice of a friend, I cleaned the line, heat is working fine.
Andrew the repairman that came was excellent. Explained to me where the unit was having issues and even showed me. The service took less than 30 min to get my ac back on. Trustworthy business from my experience.

I was approched at Home Depot and offered a AC service. I agreed as summer approches and also asked if they could check the heat system becuse I thought my bills were a tad high over the winter. They said yes, for an extra fee which was fine.
The service person showed up and right away informed me that my unit was thirteens years old and they are only meant to last 10 years. After farting around for a bit, I was left with an service estimate of $6000.00 for various things that he said were bad. He also said my heat was running expensive because my heat was running on emergency heat due to the fact that my unit needed freon. But you can't get that freon anymore (although 894.00 of his estimate was for freon) so I would need to replace the unit.
Conveniently enough, I was told someone could come the same day and give me a price for a whole new system (I also recall him saying mine probably had MOLD growing in the duct work AND my unit would most likely freeze up over the summer). I initially allowed him to make the appointment because I was so worried and shocked at the cost when I just wanted my unit serviced. Later that day as it sank in, I cancelled the appointment thinking maybe a second opinion might be better.
Two days later, I had another inspection done by another HVAC company. I was told by them that there are ZERO things wrong with my unit....it's in great shape and my heat was probably high because I raise and lower the temp by almost 10 degrees in a 24 hour period. Asking me about my heating habits lead them to this determination. Unit NOT running on emergency heat NOR does it need freon (they showed me the reading and explained it).

Single circuit capacitor 241.00
Buyer beware and get other opinions. I really feel that he inflated all these items to make me feel that a new unit was the much better option and that is a pretty crooked way of doing business.
I'm bummed out that they are associated with Home Depot.
Home Depot hired ARS to do an install for my new thermostat purchase (which I paid for through Home Depot) and was told ARS would contact me to set up the service date. After a week of not hearing from them, I called them to get the date set up. After being sent back to customer service with Home Depot because “they had no record of my service order” (I had the receipt) Home Depot had the work order where they had asked for them to contact me. After two more days of going around between HD and ARS, they still wanted to charge me EXTRA for coming out to my house!! Home Depot graciously offered to cover anything extra that was charged for the install, but then when I finally got a tech to come out, the tech declared I needed over $1200 work done on the circuit board, Still DID NOT install the new thermostat, and still charged the “assessment fee!!” DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!! I feel like I have not only been through the ringer with them, but have been ripped off as well! They took my money for absolutely no work!

My ac broke down last tuesday August 23, 2022 and I contacted them at 130 am and actually spoke with someone, they came out ahead if schedule that day diagnosed the problem and got the ball rolling. I have called for two days 8/29/2022 and 8/30/2022...... the first day was told my part wasn't even ordered yet.......what I am sitting in a house in NC with no ac and it's sweltering......who has money to throw away on a hotel room. To keep cool......was also told someone from service would call me back.....guess what....nothing. so called again o. 8/30/2022 twice was told the same thing....someone would call me back.....nothing.......they are probably in their AC Office and homes not worrying about the heat......it amazes me how fast they came out when I needed a new unit but in but after paying 12000 for a new unit, how they can't even pick up the phone to return a call when a customer is sweating because of no AC.......am considering another company for my service contract next year. VERY UNHAPPY CUSTOMER

They came out to repair a gas valve issue and I called for days asking to speak to someone about the cost. They have yet to call me back about the price I paid to get it fix. I continue to get people that can not provide any assistance. This is ridiculous.

Ken was great, very personable, went over ever detail, even talked to my son in Indiana who called while he was here, to assure him that we were doing the right thing.
I have had more problems with this unit in 3 years than I had with original unit in 15 years. How do you tell a customer they need freon but can't tell you how much you need but it will be $900. I regret doing business with this company. When you look at the reviews they're either a 1 star or a 5 star. So, that means you will get really good service or really bad. Don't take a chance when money is coming out of your pocket.
Needed my water heater replaced. They came out did and estimate and got it replaced same day. Did amazing work and looks better than before. Its even up to code which im happy about. Great price and great service. Everybody was nice and helpful.

This is my first experience with this company and my last and they haven't even installed my equipment.Only going forward because approved and in need of heat downstairs. First 2 warnings are the forged signatures on contract. I will inform the bank that is not my signature.
Also don't do bad business makes your company look bad. I will not recommend ARS to anyone. Companies don't let your employees make your company look like this is the type of business you do by forging ppl names on applications. Now I'm calling Ally Bank.

We just spent 19,000 on a new heat/ac unit one month ago. We already have had two issues. First, the thermostat broke? Brand new. Now, it’s 59 degrees inside my house and the heat is blowing cold air! We called ars and they said they were going to come take a look today Sunday from 11-1pm window. They called me at 10:20 while I was busy outside doing something and I called them back 20 min later and they called cancelling our appointment because we didn’t answer the phone!! The correct thing to do was to come to our house and knock on the door like a regular company. Ars is so unorganized and now we have to freeze to death another day. They are quick to sell you services but have excuses to come fix the issues.

The company is dishonest and I'm very surprised to see them rated so highly. I had a technician forge my signature on an invoice and contract for an estimated $2000+ in work to be done.
The company is also unprofessional and overpriced. I was charged $500 to replace a capacitor (which wasn't the issue) on the first visit. Technicians had to come to my house an additional two times for the same issue without ever fixing the problem. On the third visit, they left me with an invoice for over $2000 in warranty work in order to be able to complete the repair. ARS provided no scope of work or itemization of the repair costs.
Based on the inconsistent messaging from the various technicians, I was very uncomfortable with the price on the invoice. I finally called another HVAC company to validate what I was being told by ARS who quoted me $600 LESS THAN what ARS was prepared to charge.
I strongly recommend finding another HVAC company and taking your business elsewhere.

So our AC unit quit blowing cold air, I called ARS to come to my home and check the unit inside and outside. The Tech came and told me the unit was old and needed $1300.00 in repairs. He told me I might as well buy a new unit and quoted me that around $4300.00. He talked me into setting up an appointment with their sales team. I got a second opinion from a second company and the Tech told me that it was a simple switch that had gone bad in the unit, he over rode it that day and the unit began to blow cold air again. He replaced the switch two days later and the charge for this came to a little over $65.00. I don't know if the ARS tech was incompetent or a dishonest sales man trying to make a sale but I DO NOT RECOMEND THIS COMPANY!
The technician arrived on time in order to inspect my HAVC system. He was polite, neatly dressed and wore shoe protection as a means to protect my floors. He answered all pertinent questions regarding the operation of my unit. I would not hesitate to invite ARS/Rescue Rooter back into my home.
I purchased an heating and air until almost 3 years ago and I have complained about the same issue since the beginning. The company has not resolved the issue blaming it on the google nest they provided, and the company wants to be paid for technician fees upfront for services that should be covered under the warranty. I was told to relax it is not a big deal by the phone rep and that they don't have access to warranty information so if it is there I had no problems. Why is this not something they have knowledge of up front? It makes the experience worse being informed and asked for payment up front for things covered under your warranty and when your previous calls have not fixed the same issue!

I made an appointment for there AC check special. This is there way of trying to get you to buy a new system. Got a second opinion and all I needed was freon. Basically the service guy will pull up your property and try to sell you a unit claiming that your unit is out of date. Call someone else!!! Look up there poor reviews on Yelp😉

I called this company when my AC stopped working and the guy that came by was a strait up crook. He told me there was a coolant leak and my whole system including ventilation needed replaced. He then went on telling me there was asbestos though, so the company couldn’t do the work, but I could call his friend to do it for $16,000. First off, there is no asbestos, and I have an inspection to prove it. Secondly, I called another company for a second opinion and they said there was no coolant leak. The fan motor had failed, and they were able to replace it for $750 which included labor. Please save yourself some grief and call another company.

We set an appointment for 9 to 11 and received a confirmation call at 930 the morning of our scheduled service. We then received a call at 1pm that the tech was on the way, which was 2 hours after the window and we weren't available. When we had to reschedule, we told them any day but Wednesday and they set up the appointment for Wednesday. In order to get it repaired, our schedule was rearranged to accommodate this day - the tech arrived and after inspection thought it may be a leak, but didn't have the tool required (even though we told them we thought it was a leak when we called). He wasn't sure if it was a leak, but for $1900 (labor only, the part was warranty) they could fix it. He did offer to fill the freon at $190/lb. The only bright side was they discounted the service charge since they no-showed on the first, but said they might have to charge another service charge to confirm the leak. We've reached out to another company and will most likely not use these guys again! These guys talk customer service, but did not deliver

Andrew the repair guy was great, but when it came time for a replacement estimate, ARS's colors shone through. It took unnecessarily long (3x as long as the estimate I got today) and the car lot strategy of over pricing the original estimate and doing the let me call my manager and get you a great deal only if you buy right now was a major put off. The 100% up front demand confirmed that no way in hell would I let ARS replace my system. Yes the salesman got there right away even though it was a Sunday, but that and the empty guarantees were over compensation, not quality customer service. The lawyer who chases your ambulence to the hospital might seem good at first, but he's probsbly not the most competent lawyer and not the best hire.

Don’t trust them when they say there’s a warranty they will charge you when they come I have 10 years warranty I call because they nest thermostat not working she said will be $109 Charger for diagnose I told her I have warranty it’s just been 2 years since I have it she said they change the policy and I need too pay for it even if they did it last year. So don’t trust them don’t deal with them.
I have been using this company for several years now, for HVAC maintenance and once to replace an aging unit. They have been professional and respectful. When I bought a new unit they didn’t try to sell me more than I needed and were low pressure. My serviceman today was Joe and he politely answered some

Just had preventative maintenance performed on our air and heating units (heat pumps & air handlers). The upstairs unit stopped working for some reason. I went into the attic space and found the air handler air flow door to be loose. I started to unscrew the cover and it fell off before the second turn of the knob. It took me a bit to reattach the cover door securely than all of a sudden the unit started up is is cooling like it should. I presume the technician who performed the maintenance check misaligned the door. I would have hoped he would have checked it before saying everything is working fine. I gave the company a good review regarding the tech on their survey. Wish I would have waited a few days. I have one more maintenance per the agreement and then I'm shopping around. A little upset that something so routine could be missed.

. I feel set up. Friday July 29 I signed up for check up on ac unit. The tech was nice and professional and said I will need a filter in the attic unit soon but everything was great. The house and unit is 2 years old so I shouldn't be having any issues. Yesterday my unit stopped cooling my house. I called about the thermostat because the numbers weren't charging the air. After checking it and finding out there wasn't an issue with it, I turned system off and ran old timey window fan for the rest of the day. Sunday morning I noticed a puddle of water in my downstairs bathroom. The wall was wet. That tells me that the ac unit in the attic is or was leaking. This happened a month after y'all service. I feel set up!! Now y'all charging to come diagnose. I don't think that's right since it's coming from a spot where your tech was at. I can't get up there.

Awesome Update 7/30- We've had our new AC and gas furnace for 2 weeks and it runs beautifully!!! I love love love the Nest thermostat and the ability to control the temp while I'm away. The intuitive design of the Nest has kept the temp ideal! This is such an efficient system! Already got my utility prediction statement and it's projecting my usage down significantly = very nice $$$avings!! The whole team was awesome! Great experience!! I highly recommend!!

Despite the scheduling issue for the 3rd time; despite complaining and no response from a manager for the 2nd time; once I read the notes from today’s visit for A/C maintenance the technician who was alright but he wrote in the notes that the customer declined him from coming in the house and he was not able to do something in the house. He Did Not ask to come in the house. Also he commented on $300 for Freon that I did not need so why mention if I don’t need. He also tried to give me a lesson how many ounces equals a pound. As I continue to read the notes I’m wandering if I actually needed the part (compactor). I don’t believe it was needed but I did pay ARS labor fees. I agree with the other people and what occurred was not needed.I don’t know if he cleaned any coils; Freon licks I don’t know. I suppose this is what we have to work with.

After service, customer service over the phone impatient and rude. I called for a copy of my invoice. I had additional questions about my service, she told me to call back. My technician told me his name was Mike but on the paperwork it was James. My HVAC is only 4yrs. old. Before visit, my thermostat inside match temperature settings now it doesn't. While Mike/James was outside checking the unit I heard him hitting my unit. I went to check and he was trying to put back unit cover. I don't have the time or money to pay for additional services because ARS damaged my system. Home Depot and ARS should be ashamed. I wish the invoice was more detailed report. I want to see temperature settings and readings. Only an one liner, telling me what I already know. Except now, I will have to call a Real Company to fix their mistakes.

I will give 2 stars because the techs (Shawn and Jose) were friendly, hardworking, and professional. If not for them, I’d give 0 stars.
They didn’t show for 3 appointments that had to be rescheduled a fourth time. When I call their line to ask for help about all the missed appointments and techs not showing up when we are told they will show up, I was told “we will let dispatch know and they will call you” and then they never call.
We called Saturday to report the issue and was scheduled 5-9 that day to have someone come out and look. No show. It gets rescheduled to Sunday, 8-12. No show. Rescheduled 11-3, no show. We then received a call to schedule the appointment 5-9. I explained that we had been waiting on a tech since the day prior and was told they didn’t have a work order for us until that afternoon. It became clear that the individuals who answer the phones were not scheduling appointments properly and there was zero communication. Tech shows at 6:00pm and reports there is a leak in the coil. The next day, someone was supposed to come back out from 12-5. No show. We then receive a call being told our part has to be ordered and will be in Wednesday. Repair is scheduled for Thursday.
The day of our scheduled repair, we received a text saying the tech was on his way (we were told we would be notified when they were 30 minutes out). An hour later, still no tech. When I call to ask about it, I was told “oh, he’s on his way to Durham to get your part” - we live in Greensboro. When I asked about the text I got at 7:45am saying the tech was on his way, they say “well that’s an automated text that just gets sent out - we can’t help what it says”.
This place is a joke honestly, and they have zero respect for your time. If our landlord didn’t use this company, we certainly wouldn’t deal with the headache. Highly encourage you to use another company.
Scheduled a summer service. They called right before appt and needed to reschedule bc they overbooked. At next scheduled appt, Tech showed up not wearing a mask when we were told he would. We asked him about it and he said he wasn’t wearing one bc we weren’t. Uh it’s our house. He put one on and started what we thought was a cleaning of the air conditioning. He put gauges on the unit and stated some Freon leaked out and we needed 2lbs. Also, he showed pictures of a unit that appeared to have mold on it. Nothing was cleaned bc that was another charge. And he tried to sell us 1300.00 worth of other equipment on a unit we know needs to be replaced soon due to the age. And he ended by giving us a quote for 3lbs of Freon instead of the original 2. We choose ARS bc they offered a special for healthcare workers. We wasted money and nothing was cleaned. Just had our usual hvac company come. Unit cleaned, no need for Freon, and yes unit is dirty but it’s old. Do your research on companies. Look on BBB at ARS.
No show. Started at 12 pm was told they had the wrong address. I called them again was told they would be coming after they finished with the customer before me at 3:30pm. Waited then called at 5pm. Still same answer. It's now 9:30pm and no show and no call.

My 2 year old HVAC unit (under warranty) began making a 'thumping' noise. I called ARS to come to my home and check it out - for a fee of course.
The Tech came and showed me a video of a mouse that had gotten into the fan housing and was wedged in the blower area.
It was recommended that I needed a new blower motor and some UV light for mold- he quoted approximately $2568.
Mind you the Tech did NOT bother to remove the mouse to see if that alleviated the problem. He just told me the mouse had caused the spindle to be damaged therefore I needed all this repair. The estimate 'invoice' I received didn't list any diagnosis just CV-19.
After watching a YouTube video on how to replace a blower motor and fan, I decided I needed second opinion. That opinion revealed that there was indeed a mouse in there causing an unbalance -remove it and problem is solved.
I am ashamed that Home Depot associates itself with this company. This is dishonesty at its best right here. I wish I could give 0 stars!

Kevin was very professional and took his time to explain everything. He arrived on time, gave me a detailed list of options, and helped me to find what I needed at a reasonable price.
I was able to get repaired by another heating Servive when your service man could not. I will contact you when I must replace. Very professional service and John was great. Thanks

On the schedule from 5pm to noon the next day. No tech call. Multiple receptionists, who were kind, but the dispatch never responded. We called Mebane Air & they got right on it!

Very quick, easy to follow quote; prompt and professional service
No showed the first day and did not call to say they would not be coming. Did the same thing the next day. If you are looking for a reliable company then I would try a different place.
The Tech that came out was very knowledgeable and incredibly nice to work with. Andy explained everything that I asked and was great to talk to. I spoke with another tech about installing a new system, I forget his name but he was also very knowledgeable and informative. 3 stars because the scheduled window of arrival was 11-2. I received a phone call that I was the next stop around 10 A.M. but didn't see the tech until closer to 4. It was said that the tech was held up at the previous location. Spent all day with this, and had later than expected arrival, otherwise great experience.

I have Thermostat that is not working with Wi-Fi. I called and they had a technician out immediately and said they needed to get a new thermostat. I have called back numerous times asking for updates and they keep taking my number and emailing another service. I would not be in business if I operated this way completely unacceptable no one has ever gotten back to me.

My technician Carlos was the best. Brought him out for a second opinion, so glad I did. Other companies try and scam the home owner. This man and this company have integrity. Will use them as long as I live in Greensboro. They have a loyal customer from me, and I will recommend my friends and family.

Very thorough guys, knowledgeable about the Ins and outs of AC Units
Not recommended to look for what’s causing your ac’s problem. I called ars since they were the ones who installed the system at my house to check what’s causing my house vents blowing warm air and my thermostat having a hard time reaching my house set temperature, the ars’ contractor told me it lacks of freon. He loaded 1lb of freon but that didn’t fix it and says that he needs to look further on what causing it, which will cost more and more if he was able to fix it. I didn’t agree for him to do it since it cost too much. Before he leaves, I paid him $170+ for the service and putting 1lb of freon. He gave me his estimate of $1,000 to $4,000+ to look and fix the problem, he even recommended to just change the system instead of fixing it (which I didn’t bite because the system was only 7 years old). After he leaves, I called a different company for a second opinion and the next day this contractor from another company were able to tell me the problem and fixed it in less than an hour. Saved me thousand bucks and only paid them less than $180.

The Tech they sent to my house was very well mannered, clean, professional. However I am a little take aback at the charge for installing an $88/10 minutes to change part. And THEN wanted to take the part with him AFTER a person on the phone had made a remark about a used part being sent incorrectly as they explained why they didn't show up on Friday as scheduled to fix it. Due to the outrageous mark up on the $85 part and the delay in service I cannot recommend these guys. I smell deception to be honest.

Trash company the guy come in and he just said you need a new ac without even check it and the estimate guy told me don't speak to me I don't have time to waste I will just write you an estimates. They said they will charge me 104$ they charge me 116$ for nothing. It's a scam company and I don't like the way they treat me.
Very prompt in coming out and you get at least 2 options for what you need fixed or replaced. I just used for a new furnace and previously for a new water heater. Very professional and easy to work with.

Im an 8 year HVAC journeymen in the Chicagoland area and this company just tried selling my Aunt and Uncle a $10 part for $550. We sell this same part in the around here for $125. I understand inflation, but I cant wrap my head around this type of mark up. Please shop around with other companies!

I purchased a new townhome with ARS HVAC Equipment installed. I have had three instances to need warranty service. One no show after waiting ALL day. When the tech arrived at a later date he was sharp. Next service was OK. Current call for service was a NO SHOW again. No AC and NO response. NOT impressed! Tech was late again so I called the dispatcher to request assistance. She advised he was late due to responding to an emergency. I thought that odd, because my AC not working seemed like an emergency to me. Tech was ok. He found the power supply to outside compressor fell off. This is the second repair for brand new equipment that seems like slack installation.
