very unprofessional personnel and they do not know what to do. first they told me the compressor in my heater needs to be replace cost $1500 and then they told me another parts needs to be replace which cost another $1000. I decided to not fix it. they damaged all the heater unit which now cost $3000. I recommend not to trust these people.

They found a leak that 3 other companies could couldn't find and they were very professional. I'm glad to have my problem resolved and my water bill back to normal.

My yard was flooded and the sound of gushing water was heard in my crawl space. What a morning and the plumber I usually call couldn't get to my problem until after 5 at overtime rates. I decided to just Google it and landed on Affordable Plumbing. These two gentlemen, Mike and Joseph, were so nice and accommodating. They returned my calls promptly and came out that morning. There was 8 inches of standing water in the crawl space and Joseph was willing to risk going under there near the electrical fixtures and fix the problem which was three leaks in my old copper pipes. All the while they both were friendly and informative as the project progressed. Mike gave me an affordable price for all the work they did and the job is holding up nicely a week later. I highly recommend Affordable Plumbing and hope you will be as satisfied with the service as I was.

Had a plumbing emergency after hours at a business. They came out quickly and were efficient and affordable. The owner and assistant Joseph were great. I would highly recommend them and I will be calling them for all my needs commercial and residential.

I used Affordable Plumbing heating and air three times in the past four years and I have been very pleased with them. This time they replaced all the piping in my home. I had that old galvanized pipe and had problems with it for years. Mike took the time and explained every step of the job which made me feel comfortable with such a big en-devour. The two guys that did the job were very careful and mindful of my home and they cleaned up thoroughly. I highly recommend this company.

I bought a Delta toilet from Home Depot on Elm Eugene St on a Saturday and paid for installation. I called the company that was supposed to install it on Monday. Its rep. told me she would call right back. I never heard from her.

I called Mike at Affordable Plumbing at 2:56 the following Monday after Christmas. He returned my call four minutes later at 3:00. I was already impressed.

Mike gave me a 1:00 to 3:00 estimated arrival time for the next day. Buddy was at my house at 12:55! How often does that happen?

Buddy took measurements to make sure the toilet I picked would fit. It did. He had the old one pulled out in about ten minutes and the new one installed before 2:00.

I was happy enough with what I was charged. It was a little more than Home Depot's installation was going to run, but again that company never called me back.

They did not offer to dispose of the old toilet. That was not a problem for me. It's something you might want to ask Mike about when you line up the job if it would be for you, though.

I'm pleased with the work and would use Affordable Plumbing again.

As new residents of Greensboro, we ran into a totally clogged house after a couple weeks - toilets backing up, water/sewage creeping into the bathtub. A friend referred us to Mike at Affordable Plumbing, and within a few hours everything was taken care of. Pricing was very reasonable, Mike was fast and explained everything in a way I (not particularly skilled in any of this) could understand. I highly recommend, and will always go back to Affordable Plumbing in the future.

I paid $850 for a hot water heater to be installed and I don't have enough hot water to finish a shower. I was told by them that the cold water mixes with the hot water so it eventually turns to all cold. Hmmm, that's the same way my old hot water heater worked and I had plenty of hot water then. Two people could shower one after the other, now I can't get thru just one. This heater is junk and now I will have to hire someone else to put in another new hot water heater and get rid of this piece of crap. But, seeing as I was way overcharged, at least it won't cost as much. DO NOT CALL THESE PEOPLE!

Updated 5/3/16 I finally convinced Mike that there really was a problem. He came out and fixed it. Plenty of hot water now.

I am the Property Committee Chairperson for First Christian Church, Greensboro, NC. We recently experienced a water main rupture which required a complete replacement. I called Mike Nelson, whom I had never met, and he responded immediately. He was able to start the repairs the very next day. The fix was to replace the water line between the meter and the building. The old water line was under the concrete basement floor, so an alternate path had to be chosen. Once the details were sorted out, the job was completed quickly, at a reasonable cost, in time for worship services on Sunday. The installation was difficult, and challenging at times, but Mike remained calm and always smiling, in spite of some unforeseen delays. He is a pleasure to work with, and I recommend him highly. He and his company will be our plumbing company go to for any foreseeable plumbing needs.

I have stored them in my contacts! This company will be my ONLY plumbing company. Very affordable, and friendly. I've already referred them to my friends!

My bathroom had 3 issues all needing addressed. Affordable Plumbing came out, were on time, diagnosed the issues, discussed the repair with me then tackled the problems. The repairs were a little more intense than expected. They completed the repairs and did not charge me extra for the extra required effort or try to upsell me. I greatly appreciated that. Working with larger repair companies often means the final total comes out way more than expected. This experience was far more positive than that. I highly recommend these guys!

Outstanding same-day service when I really needed it.

I've been using Affordable Plumbing Heating and Air services several times, and the service provided was great! Mike was always nice, quickly answering my calls, and promptly solving my issues, without braking the bank. I would recommend his team for any plumbing, heating or air-conditioning emergencies you might face around the house!

Wes and Scott were nice enough and responsive. They had to replace the fan motor in my outside unit. They told me the cost for the part was $200 and the service fees and labor were an additional $300. It took them half an hour to replace the motor. Doesn't seem very affordable to me. They billed me $75 for 2 service calls (one to diagnose the problem and another service fee to return with the part), and $150 for 30 minutes worth of labor. I don't know, just seems too high to me.

Have used Affordable on a few occasions...the most recent being to replace a wall hung sink and faucet in an older home. As all other times Mike returned my call promptly, they arrived on time and the work was done very professionally. I was also impressed with the cleanliness of the area once the installation was completed. The job was a bit more in depth than originally thought, but Mike and Joseph didn't let that deter them! Kudos to them for a job well done!

A plumber named Buddy came to check inside my home for possible leaking or running water and the were no running toilets in my home at all. I left him to check the guest bathroom on the first floor for 5 minutes and all of a sudden the toilet was running so loudly I could hear it in the other room. Instead of locating the issue as to why my meter is running at quadruple the normal usage, he was lazy and tried to make it as though it was due to my toilet running and it was not running prior to him arriving. He didn't even come in with any tools other than a small flashlight. The check of the rest of the home was superficial and nothing I could not and did not already do. He was there about 10 minutes total and didn't even offer to correct the tiny issue he had obviously caused. I would never recommend this company to anyone and in fact have launched a complaint with the BBB.

Can't say enough good things about Mike. He made a very big job stress free and always kept things light with his sense of humor :). We have found our plumber!

He wasn't rude so I will give them 2 stars. He really just didn't seem eager to assist me at all. They made a bad first impression that's for sure.

I've used Affordable Plumbing four times with Mike doing the work. The first time, when no other company would come due to the weekend and bad weather he came, found a a temporary sump pump and installed a good quality one the next week. On two calls, he fixed the problems and then showed us what to do if they reoccurred.
Mike and his work are trustworthy. He has never taken advantage of our lack of repair knowledge and never has done extra work to get more money. He is a professional.

We are a small church and had a heating problem, so we called Affordable plumbing heating and air, the call went good and they said they get in touch with there contractor to arrange a service call, the contractor name was Scott and he said it would be 75 dollars to check everything out and said gas valve was bad and it would cost 525 dollars to fix (350 dollars for part and 175 dollars to put it on) I found the part online for 113 dollars,he agreed to to install it for us, so it took about 30 mins to install and they charged 175 dollars, I know we agreed with price but thought it was more involved then what is was, just seems there is nothing affordable with this company.

Had a horrible clog in my home. Could not even run my dishwasher or washing machine without my downstairs toilet overflowing. Called Affordable and Mike came out and took a look. Informed me that it was a issue that the city had to fix. I really appreciate his honesty because he could have just taken care of it and charged me without letting me know it could be fixed for free by the city. Affordable is their business name and it literally translates to their rates. I had an estimate from Roto for $5K to fix a drain leak from the bathroom tub. They were going to tear down my sheet rock walls and recommended a whole tub replacement. I called Affordable plumbing, heating, air, they came over the same day and gave me an estimate of $550. Definitely worth the business and I highly recommend them for any plumbing services. Thanks guys!

I was having a problem with my washing machine connection, water was dripping and installers (Lowes) told me I needed to have valves replaced. So I called Mike and he took a quick look and had in fixed in 5 minutes. No valves needed at this time, which I understand can be quite expensive, and then he really made my day by telling me there was no charge. What a nice guy, I will certainly make sure to use him for my next plumbing issue which is inevitable with a 50 year old house. On a sidenote, he also has a good sense of humor! mulțumesc

Prompt, effective service. One of my kids flushed various toys down the toilet. The company sent out a plumber who was able to snake a comb out of the toilet, but a day later flushing problems returned. The company sent out another plumber who determined that the toy had been pushed into the sewer pipe. After working nearly a full day, he was able to remove the blockage without having to cut into the pipe. And he charged a fraction of what I would have expected for a full day's work. 5/5.

It is Christmas and I am busy with baking and cleaning and the water line to the ice maker developed a leak. Had to turn the water to the house off. Called Mike who said they would have some one out the next day. Okay so I can live without water for a day. A couple of hours later Mike calls. He is in the neighborhood and wants to stop by. He stopped the leak wished us a Merry Christmas and left. No charge. I would definitely use him again.

I needed a plumber to check out and fix my Mom's hot water heater; problem is, she's in Greensboro and I live in New England. After reading reviews I gave Affordable a call. Mike got back to me extremely quickly and managed to find a spot in his schedule in order to quickly get my Mom back up and running. Okay- I am updating my review of these guys. The problems we had were with Chip, one of the partners of the business. That bad impression has, unfortunately, not changed.

However, Mike the other partner has come through for us and been very accommodating and professional in resolving this matter so I have revised my stars and comments to be more positive. I'd say if you are dealing with Mike, he has been a stand up guy.

$200. Kitchen sink still leaking after 2 visits. This company is irresponsible. Save the invoice stating exactly what was done, otherwise the work is not guaranteed.

I had a leak under the house.I was told someone would call in a few minutes.Never got the call.

Buddy called 10 mins before arrival. He was professional and knowledgeable. I had a toilet that leaked into the basement after flushing. He had to replace the wax ring under the toilet and it took less than 30 mins. He made sure everything was cleaned up when he was done. This is my first time using these guys, and I will use them again for plumbing service.

I have used Affordable Plumbing for some big jobs (installing new sewer and water line pipes) and small jobs (installing a whole-house water filter), and I get the same great service each time. When I first called Mike, his quote was much lower than a previous one and since that fist time, I no longer need to contact anyone else, as I know he will provide the best service at the lowest price. I was able to call him on a Sunday night when my hot water heater went out, and he came the next day to install a new one. He is able to work with older homes (mine was built in 1938) and all of his employees are friendly, courteous and excellent at what they do. If you need an excellent plumber in the Greensboro area, I would not hesitate to call Affordable Plumbing.
