I had a sink and faucet installed by Dave (contracted through Home Depot). Although I was not there to watch the installation, I came home to a beautiful sink that was installed very well! I really appreciated the work that Dave did, especially with the sealing around the edge of the sink. He took extra care to make sure that the area around the sink was well cleaned before doing the installation, and there was no sign left behind that and work had been done (ex: floors and counter tops were clean, no debris under the sink, etc.). Overall, Dave did an excellent job! I would highly recommend Zenner & Ritter for any home improvement projects!

Greg knew exactly what was wrong with our furnace and told us our options. He worked with us to decide on what we wanted and didn’t want with our new furnace. Rob was very knowledgeable on the furnace system. He put in a new Arzel System. He made sure that I was satisfied with the work before he left. Rob explained what he was doing. Very well done on the part of all three gentlemen that worked installing a new furnace and air conditioner. This is day two and all appears fine. They will return to finish the air conditioner when the weather warms a bit more. So far I'm feeling good about selecting Zenner and Ritter.
They came out at 6:30pm. I was very impressed that they work until their calls are finished. Most businesses will pack up at 5 and leave you hanging. Our technician was very thorough.

The young man was very polite and personable. I am grateful for his service. My only complaint is this system was installed just over 2 years ago and I have already had a failure. My previous system was over 20 years old and I never had a service call. But this is not the fault of Zenner and Ritter.
Tech was extremely professional and explained everything that he was doing and that he needed to do. Very knowledgeable and did not complain when asked to complete service that he offered.
Bill came out to evaluate layout and speak about in-home generator. Bill answered every question, was thorough, listened, and was respectful. Very detailed in his quoting process and extremely knowledgeable. Looking forward to doing more business with Zenner & Ritter

Appointment was easy to schedule. Assessment of needing a furnace or not and which is a suitable unit was very detailed and answered many questions about all the items we were interested in. We will review the written estimate and go from there.
Very professional and thorough. Eli did a great job and got my AC working. I am very satisfied, as I am a Severe Asthmatic. For me, the AC is a necessity.
Shawn, Jay, Nick, and Tanner definitely put in a full day's work installing ductless heat and A/C in our 120-year old home. They overcame various challenges running the electrical and remained professional and good-natured throughout. Our AC died in the middle of a hot streak. My wife called yesterday and we got an appointment for today. This morning they called to confirm and when he would be here. He came on time. Checked the system, repaired what needed to be fixed and we are now cool and comfortable. He let us know what parts were needed and how much it would be. Very happy with the entire service.

Our furnace stopped working & it was 20 degrees outside. A serviceman was sent at a convenient time for us. We received a call when he was on his way & he arrived shortly after. He diagnosed our issue within minutes & had a furnace working in no time. He was efficient & professional. Exceptional service!!
Our furnace recently went on us leaving our family of 5 without heat. After making the call to Zenner and Ritter, a tech was out the very next day (per our request). Earl F. arrived promptly and provided an estimate for a new furnace. He took the time and explained everything so that we were able to understand exactly what we needed. He was extremely personable and made us feel like family and not just a number. When it was time for the furnace install, techs Dave and Phil arrived at our home the morning of. As soon as we opened the door, we were greeted with a smile and two very positive attitudes. Again, they explained the work that was going to be done and, were very inviting when we checked on the progress throughout the day. Once the job was done, they walked us through our new system and answered any and all questions we had (not that we had many since they covered most). Earl also revisited our home to ensure we were satisfied with everything. We couldn’t thank him and his team enough. Not only did they provide us with heat again, but they left such a positive impression on us, and we will never go to anyone other than Zenner and Ritter in the future. We cannot recommend this company enough and we can assure you that you will not be disappointed!
Our experience through this company has been great! We called Monday morning because our furnace wasn’t working and Richard (technician) came out that day to check things out. He found the problem and was very professional. We purchased a new furnace after looking over the very detailed and specific estimates and were able to have our new furnace installed by Brandon 4 days later! He removed our old furnace, repaired some current issues, and installed the new furnace in just a few hours. He was also very professional and made sure all of our questions were answered before he left. This is a great company and I will recommend them to anyone needing a heater service call or installation! Thanks! :-)

Dave was friendly and knowledgeable. His apprentice was also courteous and helpful. We had Zenner & Ritter install a new furnace and central AC several years ago with outstanding service.

Zenner and Ritter replaced my old dinosaur of a boiler with a new energy efficient system this past August. Due to the season, I wasn’t alerted that something wasn’t quite right until I tried to turn on my heat 3 days ago, and nothing happened. Yeah…. The guy installed a boiler and never tested it, but I digress…. Why is this a 5 star review? I’ll tell you. I think theres a lot to be said about taking accountability, and Zenner and Ritter did just that. The very next day they had a new tech out the assess the problem, and within 24 hours, I write this review as a happy customer in my warm and cozy home. The tech, Shawn C, was a class act. He spent more than half the day installing the needed component, as well as providing an additional upgrade that I requested last minute. Shawn was very patient with my endless questions, and he took the time to thoroughly explain everything to me. Not to mention, every representative I’ve been in contact with since initiating service back in August, gets an A+ in customer service. Gold stars for everyone! (maybe not that that first guy 😬).

Zenner-Ritter installed a permanent generator at my home today. Greg H. came to install the generator and to manage the business needs of the day. I appreciated that he seemed efficient in his work and curteous in his manner. After the installation, he gave me helpful instructions for monitoring the generator. Melton handled the electrical connections. He was focused on the job and proved to be meticulous in his work when the generator was tested. I was glad when he explained the new control box for electric service and I was glad to know it was fully automatic. I thought Greg and Melton made an excellent installation team. I am glad to have the security of a permanent generator as a way to power my home with electricity in the event of a power outage.Based on my personal experience today, I would recommend Zenner-Ritter to anyone seeking to install a generator at their home.

Rob was great. He is one of the few around who does boiler work. He installed my auto fill meter to my boiler and educated me on how to do maintenance. He was efficient and did a great job!
Dave Buckley came out and fixed the problem with my hot water heater quickly and efficiently. He was very knowledgeable about his craft. Suzanne in the main office was very friendly and extremely patient. She got things done quickly! I would definitely call them back if needed!!

I have an engineering background and appreciate discussing technical details of the equipment, and Rich's experience with this HVAC equipment was very helpful and informative.It's now two years later, and Ray was the service tech who recently came to check out my furnace prior to the heating season. Ray took his time and did a thorough job checking the performance and cleaning the critical components of this 10 year old unit. He was very knowledgeable and I'd definitely recommend him.

We had Zenner & Ritter here to supply and install a new hot water tank. They did a great job and carted the old water tank away. I was impressed that they put down a cloith drop cloth to keep floor clean. I also liked that they wore shoe covers anytime they had to step on carpet. We also had them install a new handset ln our upstairs bathroom. They also did a great job on that and left the room clean (no spare parts or wrappers left behind). All in all I was very pleased with them and I would hire them again.

Chose Zenner and Ritter based on a recommendation from family, and after going to several other companies for estimates. I am happy with the work but required a few calls for follow-up after installation of two furnaces, as one was not entirely sealed. They did come out and fix the issue, and I’m satisfied with everything now.

I called Zenner & Ritter for a relatively small job and they did a superb job installing our new kitchen faucet. They came out the day before Christmas Eve. It was less than 48 hours after I called them. Another company I contacted said they could not make it out until well after Christmas. Zenner & Ritter quoted us an exact price for the job over the phone, and that's what we paid. The other company gave me a range that was wide and considerably exceeded Zenner & Ritter's quote. The guys that came out worked effectively and efficiently. I also liked how the company was reachable by phone at 7 am in the morning, the day they were scheduled to come out, when we called to ask if we had time to run up to the store to get a different faucet. Overall, I am very satisfied and plan to call this company for future jobs.
This is the second year in a row that Gregg has come out to do my yearly maintenance on my generator. He has great customer service, nice personality and very knowledgeable. He explains everything that he is doing and explains all of my options to me prior to doing the work. Gregg was very conscientious regarding coronavirus and takes every precaution to keep the customer and my home safe.
The technician Carter, was awesome and more than accommodating! I could not get the full comprehensive maintenance due to a schedule conflict. Carter went out of his way to see that all my needs were met and a follow-up visit will be done. He was very nice and did a thorough job checking my generator and listening to my concerns. I highly recommend Carter to service your generator. He was very professional.

The technician that came to service our boiler was so great, I wish I could call him to come fix anything and everything in our house. Very friendly and communicative, extremely thorough, hardworking, knowledgeable and clearly cares about the customers. Any time I talked to someone at the office, they were very friendly and helpful as well. The text service that is used to communicate who/when a tech is coming is convenient. He walked our entire house with us and went over changes we could easily make ourselves as well as how Zenner & Ritter could come in and help us. Zenner & Ritter responded quickly and efficiently to a call on Christmas Day. With a couple of hours from the initial call the problem was resolved in a most courteous and professional way. We have used Z&R before and continue to be satisfied by their performance.We use Z&R for annual maintenance of our furnace, a/c and generator. They also service our rental units. On Oct 18th I called Zenner and Ritter to have a service technician come out and find out why my furnace, purchased through them and under warranty, kept turning off. It heated the house but had to be turned on at the furnace everyday.On Oct 20th Aaron, the service tech came by and did a very thorough inspection of the entire system, vents and all, and determined that the problem was a bad fuel valve and that they would need to replace the Fuel Control System. He decided to turn the fuel valve off until they came back out and in the process broke it. I signed a service agreement, expensive but necessary. Paid him $97.33 for coming out and was told it would be a Few Days for them to get the part. Aaron, in spite of breaking the part, was very professional and friendly.It is now November 9th, and I have had to call them four different times to find out when my furnace will be repaired. They won’t call us to give us any updates and every time I call I just get told, they will call me when they get the part in. They offer no other information, or solution.In the meantime, we’ve felt the temperature drop steadily, down to the 30’s in the evenings. I’m worried about the health and safety of my family, my water pipes and how much longer we’ll sit here shivering. While my furnace wasn’t running like it was supposed to, it did at least run before they came out to look at it, and the company just keeps blowing me off, like there’s nothing they can do about it.

Greg, the technician that came out, diagnosed our air conditioner’s issue quickly, went and got the part, came back and fixed it. No problems at all, and my house is cooling again. As for the company, they sent Greg THE DAY AFTER I CALLED. This made me very happy! Finally, I appreciated the communication from the company. They confirmed my appointment, let me know when Greg would be coming, and even sent me a picture. I am a satisfied first time customer!A year after my first post (2021), I am posting again. Time to get our old system replaced. Aaron, the technician, was also knowledgeable. He answered all of my questions clearly and explained everything to me. Oh, and same day service!! I believe it was mid October when I called for a furnace tune up. I was given an appointment for December 1st. OK, I had a $50 rebate that expired on 12/31/21. Z & R called me on Oct. 26 to cancel my appointment. Told me they could see me in May. A LOT OF GOOD THAT DOES ME !! I wanted the furnace tuned up for winter and wanted to use the rebate.

Sam was very knowledgeable and he offered to check on questions I had. He had the part that I needed and was able to fix the problem promptly. We had an issue with an intermittent problem that would cause a no heat fault with our furnace. We called on a Saturday and witching an hour, a technician called back and was on his way over to address and fix the problem. After a lengthy diagnosis, there were a few minor issues that needed to be addressed. All were handled professionally and parts were available. The furnace was readjusted as a few valves were turned HOA bit too high, a pressure switch was faulty and a condensation line was full of water and slime. All issues taken care of in a three hour period and the furnace was back to normal operation. A fair bill for the time spent and a repaired furnace. Very happy with Zenner & Ritter.

We have used Zenner & Ritter for a couple of years and been happy with their reliable good work. Their communications are clear and the repair & maintenance techs have been extremely helpful at solving problems in our 100 year old home.
Though I tried to relight the pilot light in my hot water tank, I couldn’t get it to work. Called this company yesterday and they had a technician out the following day. Don't trust this business. They make you pay $89 just to get someone out. They do nothing and never send out estimates after their visit. They just take you money and leave you freezing with broken pipes

I am sharing my experience because I had extraordinary service with this company. I had a generac whole house back up installed. I hope The system is as good as its reviews. It was expensive and I hope the quality out lasts the 10yr warranty. The experience I wanted to mention was the crew who ran into several issues while installing. Continued to ask if the location was ok, if I was happy with the process. A tech from the propane company (Warren from superior burnwell) allso did a great job working together till the project was done. The electrician who came in the house most often was clean, professional, quiet and got along with our dogs. After all the trouble the next day we woke up to no heat in the dead of winter. I called Zenner at 5am and got the after hours attendant who knew what to do. By 8am another electrician was there and had us fixed at no charge. Thanks Zenner I appreciate you standing by your work and seeing my project through till perfect.

Earl F. from Zenner & Ritter was very professional when I requested estimates for a furnace, AC unit, and generator. Very precise, and he went over everything in the estimates. I'd hoped that my old furnace would just need a simple repair but that wasn't the case. After 21 years, it is time for a new unit. Nothing could be done today but the repairman was very thorough explaining the problem and the cost to replace. Because I am old, he even asked if I can be moved up on the list for installing a new furnace. I am really hoping that is possible as it is very cold here and I have animals, so I can't just go to a motel. I have always heard this is a great company and now I know that's true. Their people really are caring about their customers.

The entire team at Zenner & Ritter was so helpful and accommodating. The reps who answered the calls (Heather and Melissa, yes we called a couple times with more questions! were very friendly and informative, and our technician Greg was as well. They came even earlier than originally estimated. I've used them for plumbing, sump pump, and for our ancient steam boiler system and they've been great every time. There's no plumber out there who will tell you exactly when they will arrive, but customer service gets as close to a ballpark time as they can. Solid base of know-how on systems new and old. Affordable, reliable, straight-up folks.

I had an emergency with a hot water tank leak. I contacted the Zinner and Ritter, I was taken care of the situation the next day.With the super help of the office staff, and the professional plumbers, Mitch McGovern and Nathanial Wallace. They explained. the work to be done and if I had any question. They did a super job along with the cleanup. My dealings with the office staff, along with the plumbers are a great asset to your company.
Very happy with the install of our new Central air unit today. The whole experience was great and we were given outstanding service beginning from the quote we were provided by the sales rep Brian, to the prompt and professional installation done by technicians Phil and his assistant. We were on the fence about getting the unit installed but the companies acknowledgement of our military veterans is what sealed the deal for my husband. I rate the entire experience 5 stars and we will be calling Zenner & Ritter for HVAC maintenance in the future.

I use Zenner for my yearly maintenance, but this year I had them replace my furnace entirely bc it broke. They were very professional, clean, and showed up when they were scheduled. Everything was done in a timely manner and they explained the new unit to me. I did not have time to do much comparison shopping, but those few people I talked to said they felt it was a fair price for the furnace.
Ray was knowledgeable, fast and resolved the issue. A gem that provides the service that this company has been known and trusted for!Kevin resolved a major issue I had with CO leakage. He took the time to explain the services and recommend replacements for other items that were in rough shape and that could cause problems down the line.
Dominik and Tim were very thorough repairing the AC line leak. They were able to run tests to verify the leak was properly repaired and explained the process.The estimate cost for the repair remained the same with no additional costs! Dominik saved me money for the overall cost for the evaluation and repair based on his knowledge. I really appreciate his honesty and professionalism!
Our ductless AC install was the largest residential project this installation team (Scott and his crew) had done and they did a great job. They were efficient, polite/friendly, tidy, and helpful in discussing the units and how they function etc. A major AC install is never easy, but we were very pleased with the Z&R team and highly recommend them.

From the rep at Zenner & Ritter who called me to the installers, and the finished job, all steps were fantastic! I am completely satisfied with the job that was done. Edited 2/2/23. Finally, after an actual plumbing company came out, my kitchen sink is working. RIC plumbing accomplished on one visit what Zenner and Ritter could not do in 4 visits plus a lot of money. Go with a real plumber not one that does plumbing secondary.Edited 1/25/23. 4th Visit !!!! from Zenner and Ritter for my kitchen sink that doesn't drain after paying a lot of money!!I DO NOT recommend this company for plumbing. This has been an absolutely horrifying experience. Have been lied to, given different prices, given different information, not given a straight answer. Different with each person you speak to. Only 1 master plumber, and they send inexperienced workers out. Now, I have to call a real plumber to actually get the job done.Edited 1/9/23 Mitch and Nate were out to replace my kitchen sink drain pipe to PVC. Mitch tried his best to get the sinking draining on this 3RD DAY of repair for same issue. It was not enough and the rest of the pipe will have to be replaced on some other day 4 or however many?Not happy with Caroline in the office for telling me to find someone else after they had started the job. Was not given a quote on today's work and was quite shocked. Shocked also by what it will cost again to actually get it working so I can use it and my dishwasher . Shocked that I continue to have to pay when the job is not completed.Edited 1/7/23 Dave was out to repair kitchen sink that is not draining. Dave explained process and what was found. I will need to replace part of pipe because from age/use it was totally blocked. He will return. I appreciate that he communicates what is going on and explains everything. Great customer service and expertise.Edited 11/10/22 Dave and Nate were out to handle a plumbing problem. They both had great customer service and did a great job. I am so glad that Zenner and Ritter are able to help me with a variety of issues. Edited 05/18/22. Sam from Zenner and Ritter came today to do yearly maintenance on my furnace and air conditioning. Zenner and Ritter came in, they pulled the old hot water tank, installed the new, all-electric tank, and had everything running in a couple of hours. It's been several months now, and we've had absolutely no hiccups.

Quick response to service call. Friendly technician. $100 to show up is reasonable today. Not great communication between office/tech as I did not receive a call ahead as promised and he had incorrect info when he arrived. Diagnosis was ok but rushed and repair was very expensive so focus was on selling new. Quote was presented well and ok price but decided to repair whats broke as unit is not ready to replace.Update 3 yrs later. As I noted 3yrs ago, I decided to repair the furnace board rather than replace the whole furnace because it was not that old. The furnace is still running well and shows no signs of wear or failure. All that was needed was the new board (actually just relay ON the board but I replaced the whole thing) I expect to get many more years out of this as it really is in good shape. No need to replace the whole furnace because of 1 bad component.

Called for furnace repair on Sunday. They were willing to send someone out right away. Seemed like a well run family business by the way the staff answered the phone and communicated. A part was ordered and installed in just a few days. Very friendly, respectful (we have young children who were sleeping that evening), and fair. The annual maintenance on my backup generator was difficult to schedule. The technician that arrived was good at communication , very pleasant to work with, kept me advised of the process and the results. . Dominick was extremely good. The charge for travel was exorbitant and not revealed to me at time of purchase.
Technician was not knowledgeable and diagnosed my issue incorrectly. Said my motor was bad but it was actually a fan bearing. Said company would call me the next day to let me know about my part and price and they never called or updated me.I then called Isaac heating and cooling and they diagnosed my issue correctly and fixed it. They had knowledgeable technicians and got my AC back up and running. Would recommend Isaac and stay far away from Zenner & Ritter

We just bought our house so our furnace tune-up was also an opportunity to learn about our furnace. Our service person (my husband forgot his name - I’m sorry!) explained everything in layman’s terms and told us what to look out for. I would like to take a moment to recognize Michael S. for fixing our AC unit in the middle of a heat/humidity wave. He was able to come out the very next day, troubleshoot through several issues, and replace the motor fan the same day. He is professional, knowledgeable and very friendly. I had 2 air conditioner units installed and a new furnace. Right on time, a team of 4 showed up ready to work. They were professional, respectful and easy to talk to! I was a bit unprepared in moving certain items for them to get started but they instantly and happily began helping me with the MANY boxes of holiday decorations that needed to be moved. All 4 of these gentleman were so hard working and cleaned up so well!!!! I’ve been using Zenner Ritter for years and there’s a reason for that. I have always had great service with all of the technicians and sales staff.
Technicians were nice and arrive on time. They showed that they are professional and knowledgeable. Yet a few minor details related to CO/smoke detector they failed to comply with, resulting in an extra service appointment. Nonetheless, all issues were fixed in their next visit.
Horrible customer service. Lies all throughout their business advertisement. Refused to help us become we didn’t have the part and they would not provide it. The representatives were not lucid on their part. They also stated if they did provide the part it would be 2-3 business days before help would arrive. Completely contradicting the fact. For something so essential for everyday life, it should be taken seriously as such. A major company being out of a main part is a horrible excuse and i’m very unhappy. I would not recommend the company to anyone.

Rob and Conner did an excellent job on install TWO systems in my double in Kenmore. They showed up on time each day, were very professional, courteous and took the time to listen to my questions and made sure they explained everything they were doing along the way. Zenner & Ritter installed 2 Mitsubishi Mini-Split air conditioning units in our 95 yr old home after offering the best cost estimate. The installation took 2 full days to complete. Lead Technician Scott J. was most knowledgeable, professional, accommodating and personable. He took time to explain the process and rationale through out, paid attention to detail and gave a thorough operation and maintenance tutorial. He is a credit to his Firm. We have had a most positive experience with Z&R and their team to date.

Once you setup service there's a ton of communication between emails and text messages. The most helpful of the messages is the name and photo of the technician who will be coming to your door. It's nice to know who to expect.The first service technician here (sorry, I don't recall the name) was great, friendly and communicative.Dan Marky was here subsequently to make the recommended repairs andthen for 2 minor-issue follow-up visits. Dan was also excellent, friendly, and patient. He took the time to fully explain everything that was going on and make reasonable recommendations for future service and equipment replacement.Zenner & Ritter is a higher priced HVAC provider but they do a great job.
Installed whole house stand by generator. Couldn't be more pleased. Nate and crew were courteous and professional beyond my expectations. Very well versed with the install and operation of equipment. Very informative and genuinely good natured and friendly. The whole experience was as stress free as possible. Called to have hot water heater replaced. Joe N. arrived on time. He was very friendly and professional. New hot water was installed efficiently and old heater removed. Joe left house in same condition as when he arrived (cleaned up after he was done). Price was reasonable and matched the estimate previously given. Will definitely refer friends and family to them.

After contacting six different well known heating and cooling dealers in my area, and stressing that my husband has a health condition with difficulty breathing on hot days, Zenner & Ritter was the only company that offered to check the issue on the same day. Since it was a Friday, the soonest appointment by another company was the following Tuesday. The others scheduled later in the week or for the following week. The technician who arrived within three hours of my call was superb. Aaron did everything in his power to provide comfort for my husband, as soon as possible. He worked with his assistant and the job was done within two hours. I am also grateful to Mr. Ritter for sending his employees to check our situation, so late on the Friday of a holiday weekend. Indeed, a five star business with five star workers!

I wanted an estimate for adding an AC system to my house that currently has water baseboard heat and no AC. I called Zenner & Ritter because I had used them before to install a forced air system in a previous house. The salesman was prompt, personable, professional. He thoroughly explained different options for my current situation, and ultimately sold me on a new mini-split system.
Will update following install, but I can’t say enough great things about the punctuality, knowledge, and professionalism Earl exhibited during the estimate and walkthrough. Looking forward to the installation (which I only have to wait about a week and a half for!!) I kept being pushed off and delayed on other contractor’s schedules.

Brian David and I discussed option for a back-up heat source for my home. he explained why the ideas i had might not work and suggested a much more economical solution. in the end i ordered two electric milkhouse heaters from home depot for only $60 total.
Setting up an appointment was quick and easy, tech showed up right on time. The company has a text system that shows a picture of who will be seeing arriving. Aaron was great, very knowledgeable and polite. Answered all my questions and went the extra mile to make sure our furnace was working correctly. Would definitely recommend.

Z&R came out during the blizzard when my Generac natural gas-fired backup generator choked off. They came within 10 minutes (during a blizzard). The problem was quickly determined; wind drove snow into the air intake and clogged the air filter. A new filter was installed and the generator started back up. The tech explained everything and I set up a temporary obstruction to block the snow but allow airflow into the unit.

The Zenner & Ritter Team was very professional. They even came out in a terrential rain storm. They work in teams for Gas, Electric and there is even a foreman on site. Zenner & Ritter installed our Generac 11w whole house generator in August 2017. Bill (sales) was easy to talk to, knowledgeable and fair. Nate was the installation hero, going into our crawlspace on a 90 degree day to install the gas line so we would not have pipes running along the length of our house. He was polite and professional. We were pleased that the generator was safely installed on a concrete base placed on stone. We chose Zenner & Ritter not only because of the good deal and service from them, but also because they used Melton Electric for the generator's electrical hookup. Tom of Melton Electric was very polite and professional. We have only briefly lost power a couple times since the installation, but the generator and our lights came right on! Thank you all!

This is regarding an estimate for a standby generator.Brian, called ahead of time, was polite, detailed and of course wore a mask:) He provided me a quote and told me of potential a timeline for the project to start. I have not yet decided on the project but so far my experience with Zenner & Ritter has been positive.
The technician removed the old furnace and installed the new one. Tested it for performance and made sure that our existing a/c unit was operating in sync with the replacement furnace. And the unit is reasonably priced. We are a non-profit organization so we count all of our pennies. Definitely quality service. Will definitely use Zenner & Ritter for future HVAC needs. We have other units and another building.

Jim Brainard was extremely helpful with my failed sump pump, explaining the cause and what my options were, and made the entire process simple and painless. I was worried about when someone would be able to come and potential water issues, and the customer service rep was very courteous and responsive when I called, and had Jim to my home within an hour or so. What a relief! Jim also did a great job explaining and teaching me about home safety regarding furnace filters, which I greatly appreciated. Our furnace went in our new house, as it was over 20 years old. Our AC was over 30 years old, so we figured it was time to replace both.Zenner & Ritter replaced the furnace in our prior house and did a wonderful job. No insurance?Mistakes happen, what determines if you are a reliable company is how you deal with rectifying those mistakes! And Zenner & Ritter is a nightmare, and we are likely heading to court. I'll try to keep it short, but succinct!Z&R serviced my faithful generator in August of 2018. In late February 2019, we had that awful windstorm in the Buffalo area. We lost power at night, and the generator started as it always has. I woke up in the morning, and the generator was no longer running while the power was still out. I went to the basement to check up on the sump pump, which was not running, but the water had not gone out of the sump pit (yet). I immediately called the 24-hour service line of Z&R, which is a complete joke with no prompt return call. By the time the service technician arrived, there was 1+ foot of water in the basement.The reason the generator stopped working? The service tech in August forgot to put the cap back on the oil reservoir after servicing the generator!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The result was my recently finished basement flooded with $15,000 in damages. That's a problem!Generac (manufacturer of the generator) confirmed it was a technician error. As soon as Brian Ritter realized the extent of the damage and the cause of the loss, he ghosted me. I had to hire a lawyer to get any response from Z&R, and their lawyer is making me jump through all sorts of ridiculous hoops. Presumably, in the hopes that I will drop this and they don't have to payout.This situation could have been quickly resolved if they had just filed a claim with their insurance company. Still, they seem to be unwilling to share who is their insurance company or policy. It makes me doubt whether they are insured.Next step? I'm preparing to file in court in January. Pictures of the generator available to anyone who would like to see them.Update: My lawyer informed me that there will be no offer as long as this post remains and that Z&R's lawyer communicated to my lawyer that if this proceeds to litigation, they intend to file a countersuit for defamation. (I'm not worried about that, as for defamation to hold ground my review would need to be false and I'm sticking to the facts)

I called Home Depot for a new Hot Water Heater installation because they advertise 'Same Day Installation' if you call before noon. I called at 8:30AM to schedule the install. Zenner & Ritter showed up at 11AM to perform the install. Home Depot said the install would take 3 hours. The install took 3 hours. Zenner & Ritter exhibited exceptional customer service and performed the job to completion without issue, and successfully.I was blown away by both Home Depot's ability to deliver on their Same Day Installation promise, and Zenner & Ritter's ability to complete the job on time and as expected. Had Rob out again for the second time in the last several years to fix our hot water heater. Due to his expertise, he was able to diagnose the problem and unfortunately give us the bad news that it needed replacement. He thoroughly discussed the options of repair versus replacement. Overall very pleased with my experience. My AC unit stopped blowing cold air on Friday night. I thought I fixed it and when I woke up on Saturday I realized I hadn't. Very satisfied, the crew did an outstanding job in about half the time that was estimated. They were very knowledgeable and friendly. I would highly recommend Zenner & Ritter. The only unfavorable comment I would make is that when we unpacked the Generator we found the Generac did not include the necessary wifi set up. Instead, the included a note saying they would send the parts within six or so months. That was a surprise to to the Z & R crew and me. If you are going to purchase a Generac generator make sure it includes the parts to do a complete installation. The Z&R crew will install the rest of the system when and if it arrives. Ads I said earlier, I would highly recommend Z & R for any service you could need.

I preferred around noon because of my work schedule. They were able to fit me in and gave me timely advanced notice that they would be arriving soon. Rich arrived and listened to my explanation of what was wrong and went right to work on the problem at hand. Rich also review the summary that was previously written regarding our furnace he made sure that everything was in working order before he left.

I asked for an estimate for a whole house generator. The technician, Earl F, called ahead to let me know he was on his way. I then received a text message with a picture of Earl, and link to a website that showed his current location, so I knew exactly when he would be arriving. He arrived on time, and listened as explained what I wanted. He then asked questions to make sure my needs would be met. Earl then surveyed my house to get an idea of exactly what work would need to be done to install the generator. He then provided two different estimates (for two different generators), and took the time to answer all my questions. He also explained that I would need to get a new gas meter, as the current one would not have enough capacity to run the generator.I still am waiting to get another estimate from a different company, but Earl represented Zenner & Ritter well. I will definitely be considering hiring them to install my generator.

The sales rep who sold us on the upgraded systems and duct cleaning was top notch. Took his time, told us all these things they would reroute for convenience and efficiency, and was very professional. Even the duct cleaning guy, great guy, did a thorough job. Very professional. I called to schedule installation and it took 2 days for someone to call me. Seemed like I was bothering them, and told me they’ll get to me. Installers were smoking in the driveway, around outside the house, and come walking in the house w a tim hortons cup. They also blasted rap music while working, and didn’t protect the carpets/stairs from the ancient furnace they dragged out. Not as professional. They had to call for backup later and the 3rd guy even came in and tried putting down sheets but it was too late. I was fine bc it was a hard job and they worked the whole day. They had 0 notes on what the sales man promised and I had to tell them how they were installing/moving the system. They also said it was too late to swivel the furnace bc they already placed it in before I remembered what the sales man said so didn’t get that either. I’ve had 3 service calls in 2 months which is always inconvenient to have someone come back out, and move things to access it, and take time from work. They were good about getting someone out to fix the problem but good thing it was business hours. One was for not turning on the gas so there was no heat, and another for water leaking all over. Damaged my table I had stored near it as it soaked all night until I found it. The tech who installed never connected the drain for the condensation so it leaked all over inside until it poured out on the floor. The system itself was supposed to be great, most expensive to offer and I feel the dinosaur one we had worked the same. Still gets hot/cold spots, and took 6 hours day 1 to drop 3 degrees. Lowered a star bc I woke up to water in my basement. Again. $10,000 piece of equipment with water overflowing into it.

I had no heat, it basically took almost the day to gave them come here. But Carter was very professional and fixed my issue. My boiler was only just over 1 year old. We will monitor and if happens again, may need to replace the part.
Ben did a great job and answered all my questions. He got my AC working and did regular generator maintenance in the same trip. Very professional service, would recommend.

The day after Christmas was the coldest so far this winter, so naturally our furnace quit! We called several of the top-rated companies in the area, and Zenner & Ritter was able to get to us hours before anyone else. Andrew got our furnace up and running in less than an hour. Very professional outfit!6/18/18: From one weather extreme to another! This time, our central AC quit. Zenner & Ritter did a great job for us replacing our furnace in January, so we didn't hesitate to call them again. We ended-up having 4 different Z&R pros come out to evaluate, and then remove the old unit and install a new one. Thanks to Dean R, Mark C, Brian L and Shawn C. It works well and cost less than we thought it would! By the way, when we bought our condo 5 years ago, we had to have the hot water heater replaced within 6 months. We bought one at a supply store, and the store sent a contractor out to remove & replace. We just noticed the tank has a Zenner & Ritter decal on it! This company will always be our first call. Thanks!11/19/19: We moved into our new house in October after many months of renovations. We thought everything was perfect. Of course, as soon as it got cold, the furnace stopped working. Zenner & Ritter came out right away. Unfortunately, the initial repair was not the cause of the problem. After 2 more visits, Zenner & Ritter's Greg M came out and diagnosed the real problem. Nate and his crew of Matt, Andrew, and John did a fantastic job installing our new generator. My wife and I couldn't be happier. The price was right on target. As a matter-of-fact, we got an estimate from the people that generally do our heating and other jobs for us, and they were $450 cheaper, but would only cover the bare minimum of the house. Thus, for just that much more, our entire house is protected.They were very clean and respectful of ourselves and our home, explaining all that was to be done to complete the job. They cleaned up afterward and didn't leave a mess.It not be possible to find enough words to describe the job they did in proficiency and professionalism. We couldn't be happier, especially with the peace of mind they installed in our home yesterday. Now there is no need for worry should my wife is home alone and the power goes out.They are highly recommended!!!!!

Excellent service. Service call placed after buyers agent was in home with there clients and afterwards suddenly home would not cool. Agent denied tampering with the central AC. Zitter quickly gave me an appointment which was very much appreciated since house was still having showings and was now warm. Greg with Zitter came out and was very professional. He checked the outside unit and then the electrical panel. He had me come into the basement so he could show me why the AC suddenly stopped working- someone had turned off the master breaker on the electrical panel! Thanks to Zitter my central AC is working and will no longer have a warm home during showings.

I Scheduled a Cleaning for my Working Heater, just to be on the safe side for winter. Took 3 months plus to get an appointment, the guy i requested have worked for me before and seems to know what he's doing (as they have alot of new staff that doesn't seem to know how to do their job) & Mr Jim was the original man who told me it would be necessary to service my machine! They sent the wrong guy to me even doe i requested Jim a million times on the phone. the guy was super nice & said i needed a Duck Cleaning, sorry for the miss understanding! So i asked am i gonna be changed & he said no, i didn't do anything & there was a misunderstanding for the job, you don't owe anything! We will try to get you the right person to do the job! He was on the phone for about 20 minutes or more & told me that someone will be in touch with me! Funny enough today i got an email for a bill of almost $100... so i called to explain & customer service was so rude & i was basically being forced to accept the new service email! after i explain to her that no one ever called me to follow up about the service i requested! as i tried to explain to her she didn't seem to care... Their Customer service is Horrible and should do a better job...

Earl came out to give estimate on 2 boilers needing to be replaced at my rental property. Was on time, professional and explained all that would be replaced, all codes to be followed and pulling of permits. Cost was similar to other estimate I received from another company. Just need to get more information on the financing available to me. Would definitely recommend if shopping around o heating services.
Aaron was sent to us to investigate condensation water that had been pooling in our basement and in the foundation joists of our 1940 house.The culprit was discovered to be incomplete primary drain lines for our ductless system.Aaron took many photos and shared them with the people at the office.He worked with us and explained what should happen to remedy the situation.Aaron was our point person for the entire repair and completed installation of a complete set of drain lines for our five Mitsubishi units. We are so glad to have found him to be such a competent and reliable professional.He does the right thing.
Needed an emergency furnace replacement - they sent someone out to assess the same day I called, and they were there first thing the next day to install the replacement. I was really pleased with all of the techs that I worked with. They were all super knowledgeable and took the time to explain why they needed to replace, the different options that I had available to me, and explained to me all of the different valves/switches/filters for my new furnace and humidifier. Everyone was masked the entire time they were in my house. Highly recommend - and will definitely use them again when it comes time to have central air installed.

I was surprised when the electricians who had to wire in a subpanel for the generator wanted to move the whole existing electrical panel. That would have involved cutting all of the outgoing electrical supply and splicing onto the existing wires to lengthen them. They did find another way. OK Good. The job took all day. Still OK. But there was no AC when they left. I had to go out and did not stay to test everything. I discovered the AC failure at 10:30 PM when I got home. I did call the 24 hr service. I was told that someone would get back. I waited and waited, not wanting to miss call. Finally went to bed at 2AM. The electrician called at about 8AM. He came out promptly and fixed the situation. Apparently, it was not a big deal. But it was disturbing. The workmen were very nice. Non-smokers. Quiet. Polite. If all had worked, I would have rated five stars. The extensive time requirement was no surprise. We had been advised that it was a long job that would require six hours.
The 2 gentlemen that installed the boiler did an outstanding job. They covered everything with us and cleaned up better than I expected. Great workmanship in connecting all the pipes.

Kyle was an excellent service man! Scheduling the appointment was difficult on the week-end because you do not give a time frame for the service person to arrive. But he did a fine job, once he was able to come.Dave Z. did a fine job. I was out of the house most of the time he was here, so I can't give details.Gene was an excellent sales person and coordinator. He raised my confidence level in the decisions I was making.

I am extremely unhappy with Zenner & Ritter’s service. We had a water boiler heat system that was never working properly since we moved into the house. So, we asked Zenner to come take a look to diagnose the situation. One of the things this tech told me was that our 2 zone valves were in working condition. 2 other companies came after Zenner and showed me that in fact, the first floor zone valve was broken and only turned on heat when the 2nd floor kicked on. The tech then went on to tell me that “no wonder it doesn’t work, the pilot light is broken with no flames.” He never once said we needed to do anything with the gas line and just left it on. You can blowup a house by leaving the gas running on the boiler if the pilot light is out and this guy had no concern about it. Obviously he was wrong about the pilot light being out because shortly after he left our home, the boiler kicked on. The other companies that came said the pilot light was working, so this Zenner tech was just wrong. He continued to look over the unit and said its full of debris and dust. He did not test for any leaks. We had another company come the next day and they did a test for carbon monoxide and found that there was a crack in the main part fo the unit and that it was in fact leaking carbon monoxide slowly. This other company was much more professional and said we have to shut off the unit for your safety. Back to Zenner. Now we end up with this guy saying this and that is broken and it would cost just as much to fix it as it would be to replace it. We end up paying him about $100 dollars for the service to just come and look at the boiler. We write him a check and he leaves. Minutes later our doorbell rings and its the tech again. He says He needs to come back into our house because he forgot to take pictures of our boiler for their records. So, I let him in and he takes his photos. Now Zenner is contacting us saying they never received the check and are asking us to do a stop payment with the bank on our check that we already provided to their tech and send them a new one. So not only did Zenner provide poor service with completely wrong information, they lost our check and want us to pay for a stopped check and still pay them. Do yourself a favor and go with a more reputable company like O'Donnell Heating & Air Conditioning or Reimer.

Mike S. gave me a call first thing in the morning and showed up exactly when he said he would. He was very polite and professional. He did the maintenance work and then we spent ten minutes talking through his findings. I have a big old house with an aging boiler that keeps on ticking, but I know I need to consider replacement options soon. We talked about the pros and cons of each. Along the way I learned quite a bit about how my system worked. I've always been impressed by the guys that Zenner & Ritter sends out each year.
My girlfriend and I just bought a home that was equipped with a GENERAC generator. Living in Buffalo, it was a huge benefit for us knowing if the power went out, we wouldn’t be in the dark and cold. We knew nothing about the thing, so to make sure it worked and learn more about it, we called Zenner and Ritter to have someone come out and teach us. Brian David came to assist us, and he was awesome. He not only answered every question I had, but also SHOWED me things about my generator that every GENERAC owner should know. We didn’t have it installed ourselves, so we needed to know more about it, and not once did he act like my question or concern was dumb or like I should have known that already. He understood our situation and was extremely professional and kind throughout. He even went as far as to tell me more about the Bryant brand air purifier system the house had that we also knew nothing about. The experience was more than worth the price of admission, and thanks to Brian and Z&R, we know we won’t be without power during the winter months. Thank you!!!

Jeff was professional in both installation of the product and also in customer relations. He did a fine job and was very pleasant to discuss hot water heaters, HVAC systems, philosophy, and the effect that social media has on the problems and people of today. I highly recommend him for future HVAC work, as well as discussing the past, present, and future of mankind.

Greg came and looked over the ac and quickly found the issue and was able to repair it. While here also mentioned our generator should have maintenance done to it. I mentioned the red light being on and he said he could take a quick look. Turns out it needs a battery. Will be coming back to them for all our AC and generator needs. Felt they were very fair and honest and look forward to doing business with them again in the near future. I also like that they called the day before the appointment to confirm and also send text messages with confirmations and I even knew who was coming to my house before he even got here. They are a great company to work with. I will definitely refer them to anyone in need of work done to their systems.6/29: Greg came back to repair and tune up the generator that came with the house when we got it. He really knows his stuff and got it back in working order in no time. I can not say enough good things about this company. If you need any work done, I highly recommend giving them a call first.

DO NOT TRUST THEM TO BE HONEST AND NOT UP-SELL YOU!First the positive: They get a tech out the same day.Now the Negative:They sold me on a brand new furnace that didn't even fix the problem!They were called out because the furnace wasn't responding to the thermostat. I was told the furnace was old and throwing a code and they could replace the board, but its wasn't a guarantee to fix the problem and was subsequently sold on a $2,600 brand new furnace.Turns out it was a $300 fast stat that needed replacing, NOT the furnace! Yet they still penny pinched me for the $89 service fee to come back out and charged me for the new fast stat!They're response was Well it could have still been a bad furnace and that was a separate issue. Easy to say after you threw it out and charged me for a new one!

Had a empire space heater installed about a year and a half ago in one of my properties. Well the space heater won’t stay lit yes out of warranty for 3000 dollars for a space heater on whatever regardless asked for a service call to have it looked at willing to pay and no one ever showed up or had to decency to call and reschedule or acknowledge someone is living there. Well we will never refer or ask for service again. Thanks I will be finding a new company for now on.

I called Zenner and Ritter for maintenance on an old hot water boiler that had gotten very noisy. The age and condition of the boiler was such that one thing began to lead to another, and potential costs were mounting. Greg from Z&R came out to talk through the options of repairs vs. replacing the boiler; it was very informational without a hard sell. We decided to proceed with replacing the system, and Z&R were able to schedule the work within several days of deciding to move forward. Shawn and his crew did an excellent job with the installation, and were done in one day. All of the technicians and front office folks I spoke to over the course of that week were very professional and up-front about costs and timeframes. Really appreciated the quality of work, reasonable costs, and effort to get our heating system up and running quickly.

Everything was great from start to finish. We called and they had someone on-site to give us options and estimates within a day. They gave us honest feedback and never tried to up-sell anything. We had an easy time picking the installation date (even changing it when it was better for us). I want to start by saying my experience with the technician, Greg, was great. He was kind and courteous. He explained everything thoroughly and repaired the AC efficiently.My issue is with the scheduling/schedulers. Long story short my AC broke at the end of last summer. Since I didn’t require AC during the winter, I waited until May to get it fixed. I schedule an appointment in November for May 14…6 months in advance! I had an email confirmation of this appointment.Two days before my appointment they call me to schedule my service. I thought that it was weird because I already had an appointment. I called back and they had told me it was a “tentative” appointment and that there was no free time to do it that day. I said I have an email and in no way does it say “tentative”. She told me it was because they didn’t know if the part would be in… even though I made the appointment 6 months in advance. The part was going to take long we than 6 months to come in? However, either way the part was in on time! So why couldn’t I keep my “tentative” appointment? Well it was already given away.No apology what so ever. And just stated she would reschedule the appointment. The scheduler was quite rude and scheduled me a week later. Now a week is not so bad and normally this wouldn’t have been such a big deal….. of course the one week I had to wait it was 80+ degrees each day! I live on a second floor condo and my place got up to 85 degrees! Very frustrating and very annoyed when it should have been fixed prior.Why schedule appointments if you are not going to keep them? If they are “tentative” the customer should be informed and they should also be informed when they are given away.

Satisfied with their techs. I’ve had Demetri 2-3 times. He diagnosed a leak in furnace last time and was frustrated he couldn’t fix it. Bothered him enough that he put it on group chat to discuss. That’s an employee I would want in my business. Just had Merek over for maintenance. Good tech. Zenner and Ritter may not be the cheapest but really like their service.Had to replace leaking furnace. Secondary heat exchanger rotted.Sean and Easton did an excellent job today. These modern furnaces and thermostats are not easy to install. Everything working good so far.Had Dave and Joel for tankless water heater. Looks good. Pleased with the installation. The Navien A2 has 3 modes for internal recirculation. Not just the default constantly on which turns the tank on every 2 minutes. It's quiet but can still hear it. Was annoying. Trying intelligent mode now. It learns when you use it.

Benjamin came to clean our ducts. He was courteous, kind and did a wonderful job. The service was reasonably priced and I was shocked at what he was able to clean from the ducts. Glad to have all of that gone! Will definitely use again in the future and would recommend!!
We had a few bumps in the road during the install process but were able to get everything resolved eventually. There was some back and forth but all in all I am satisfied with the install.A real bright spot in the whole process was Kyle M. He went above and beyond to make sure everything was up and running.

This company is great. I needed a gas water heater replaced with electric on short notice. I called them on Sunday, they came for the estimate Monday, and completed the job on Tuesday. Every employee I talked to was very friendly. The most impressive thing was that these guys replaced the heater in my basement while I sat in the room above them and they were so quiet that if I didn’t let them in, I wouldn’t have even known they were there. I will definitely call them when I need something else done.
The technician Andrew, called before he arrived and let me know he was on his way. I arrived home and he was waiting. He went straight to work. Assessed the situation and let me know exactly what he would be doing and a ballpark estimate. Once he was completed outside he went downstairs to examine the system running and do some tests. The work was completed in a very reasonable amount of time. All in all we are please with the work.Jim

To say that I had a horrible experience is an understatement. I contacted the company to schedule a visit for a heating issue. After the technician’s visit and quote I had several questions and that’s when it went down hill. I called for three consecutive days and was finally told that another technician needed to visit the property. A new appointment was scheduled that resulted in a no show.I’m a property owner and investor and deal with different contractors and I have to say my experience with Zenner & Ritter Home Services was very disappointing.
Whenever we call with a question or problem, they are quick to respond with a speedy solution...So far based on passed and present experience, we give them an A+.....

Got a brand new AC unit 3 years ago when mines decided to breakdown. I have been having issues year summer with my unit and everytime I call and i have someone come out to check it out I have to pay $200 service fee for nothing to be fixed. Then they tell you we will send someone else out tomorrow. This is a freaking scam. So I have to pay numerous people service fees until someone comes along and figures it out. Instead of someone coming to help the useless service person that they hired in the first place. They are supposed to be experts I don't think I should pay a service fee if the experts can't even figure out what the issue is. Only positive thing I have to say is they came out to my home the same day I called them for service my AC Unit.

For both the installation and maintenance they did an outstanding job, they provide great service and the technicians as well as the office staff are friendly, willing to answer all questions, and serve as wonderful ambassadors for Zenner & Ritter.
Very happy with the work that the installers did. John and Mohammed were very good. They completed the job ahead of schedule. They explained everything very well and clearly. And made two ladies who cannot handle the heat very happy! (Also, the Mitsubishi mini-split ductless system we had installed works EXTREMELY WELL. Is very quiet, and cools our large home really quick!). Overall, the experience with these two guys was terrific. Not only did they both do great work but the were also BOTH very pleasant to talk with. A++

I just had a new furnace, water heater, air purifier, as well as central air installed by Zenner & Ritter. The employees were very polite, and attentive to all my questions and concerns. I would definitely recommend this company to anyone who needs similar services. The price was very reasonable, and products and service were high quality.Just had another wonderful employee stop over to check why my furnace was shutting off after a few minutes. He found the cause (plastic shavings from installation) plugged a very small filter, that caused a sensor to turn off the furnace.Not only did he fix the problem, he went the extra mile and secured a part on the hood that was rattling!This company is it’s employees……and they are wonderful.Thank you, Jeremy!

I've had other service techs from zenner Ritter and they have been okay. But new tech to the company Steven J. Was the best yet. Young, personable, efficient and gave a great explanation on my basic whole house generator maintenance. I hope they hire more techs like this.
I was desperate and my Navien Hot water Tankless system went on the blink! He was here within an hour. I was amazed as it was Friday late afternoon. He contacted the manufacturer and assessed the problem. Still waiting to hear on warranty or what’s next but I feel so relieved and confident that we will be taken care of. Update! Navien replaced the unit under warranty and Zenner & Ritter installed new unit today! Clean, professional and courteous technicians! So forward two days, came to install a brand new heating & A/C system to replace our old dinosaur system. This crew was amazing! Professional, super courteous and efficient. I cannot say enough great things about Will and his helper (sorry did not remember his name) zenner & Ritter now have our complete loyalty to use them and recommend them to everyone!!!

We had a great experience with Zenner & Ritter with installing duckless HVAC in our house. To start, Earl came out to our house and gave us a estimate right on the spot before he left unlike other contractors we had come out. Earl was very knowledge, not pushy, and confident on how to do the job. They kept us well informed on when they were coming through the whole process. Wil and Phil were our installers for us and they were great to work with. Very quiet and very knowledgeable, but they showed up on time everyday and worked a full day. They actually got the job completed one day early which was nice. They were respectable, and did a great job cleaning up any mess they made. Phil seemed to get phone calls from other co-workers on jobs they were doing and after the job was completed, I learned he was the best guy they have for installing duckless HVAC. I would highly recommend this company as they are well knowledge and professional.

We hired Zenner & Ritter to install a new furnace and humidifier in our house, and ever since, we've had issue after issue with the work that was done. The spot where the filter fits was installed incorrectly and ever since we've had to jam the filter in, bending the filter in the process. Zenner & Ritter came out to fix the problem but it only got worse. They took chunks out of our wall to install the thermostat and humidistat and didn't repair the damage that was made. Recently, we had an issue with our furnace and humidifier. Zenner & Ritter came out and turned off our humidifier and told us the wire running from the humidistat shorted out the line running from the thermostat. This is a problem that they created when it was installed and they refused to fix the mistake they made. Friends and family will not use this company in the future, and I would urge you to steer clear as well.

I have had my generator maintenance done each and every year by their professional technicians (and courteous office staff) knowing that it will reliably turn on when required. I would recommend Zenner and Ritter for your generator needs.
We have use Zenner & Ritter since bought our house about 14 years ago.They have installed a new furnace and central air shortly after we moved in. We have them out in a fairly regular basis to check and perform maintenance on the units.We also had them move a gas line when we converted from electric to gas stove. Then we had them put in a new hot water tank a few years ago.Their prices are reasonable. Their technicians are always polite and courteous.My wife and I recommend them for any of your needs.

We had a steam boiler put in through the HEAP program. The banging through the pipes from a new system has been going on for a month by a different company. We finally got a second opinion through Zenner and Ritter, and the technician Mike found the problems to the boiler. We've been losing sleep every night with the banging. The original company that installed it came out a half dozen times and still didn't fix the problem. I would highly recommend Zenner and Ritter for their thoroughness and knowledge that Mike displayed.
It was a pleasure having Ryan doing the annual maintenance on my Air Conditioner, Furnace and Generator. He is an asset to the company.

He is very detail oriented, courteous (laid drapes across floors, work shoe covers and masked while in my house), took great before and after photos. The photos were hardly necessary, however, as I can tell the difference in the air I’m breathing… much cleaner and healthier!! I’m a very happy customer!

My wife and I recently had a home generator installed. Everything from the start of the process by Earl Farley setting up the quote and through the installation by Derek Judd was great. Everyone was professional and courteous, answering all questions my wife and I had. They even made a separate quote after we had an idea about a different location for the generator. Their sub-contractor electricians were top notch as well. Explaining everything that needed to be explained and making sure that my wife and I knew how the system is designed to work. Also, performing a test of the system, which I know is required however, so that we know what is supposed to happen, how the sequence of events occurs, and what we can expect of the house generator. The noise level of our Generac is at or slightly above that of a lawn mower. We are so far happy with our purchase.

Brian just came out to give us an estimate- will take him a couple days to work it up. But he answered every question we had, was extremely knowledgeable. Explained everything to us in detail. Lenny the Technician came out on Friday 11/ 8 to see why my furnace wasn't working. The motor was seized up and a part had to be ordered. He called the office to get the part ordered ASAP. Before he left he made sure I had another heat source in my home and offered me some space heaters! Saturday 11/9 I got a call from Heather in the office saying they were able to secure me the part and had a service guy willing to come and put in the new motor! I purchased my furnace & air conditioner from Zenner & have a yearly maintenance program for each unit. During the recent 2022 blizzard our furnace shut down and the water heater began to leak.We called for service and had two service orders prepared. The furnace was restarted the evening of the same day we called.The installation of a new water heater was scheduled for a day later.Joel and Nathaniel called in advance of coming to install a new water heater. They were both friendly and professional and got right to work. Joel was careful while removing the old equipment so it would not leave water dripping as he pulled it up stairs and out the door. Nathaniel, before leaving made sure we knew where the documentations for the heater was located and showed us how to start the pilot, if needed in the future.Both these young men did a great job.

I had a pipe section installed to repair a leak under my kitchen sink. They trouble-shooted the source of problem pretty quickly, and got things rolling within 90 minutes! I was expecting a higher bill, but it was quite reasonable for the work that they did! I'm very thankful that they took the emergency call at 12:41 am and came to assist 10 hours later!

Just moved into my home that Zenner and Ritter, or known as zip and rip in the HVAC industry, installed a furnace within the past 5 years and 3 spots the gas lines weren’t tightened. One being so loose it could be turned with my bare hand. Any other place would have their reputation totally tarnished over this. You should be ashamed of yourselves that you charge the amount you do (and I know how much because I worked for another large HVAC business in the area for 6 years) and this is what your leaving in peoples homes. I have 2 small children in this home that you so poorly installed a furnace and tank in. Quality assurance is key to success.

Rob Schadel was the superior technician that worked on my house. When he arrived he was cordial, polite, friendly, confident, and prompt. With a firm handshake and a friendly smile He initialized conversation and was thorough with his description and explanation of the job at hand. He told me that he will take care of the problem and will not leave until it’s finished and I am 100% satisfied. My confidence with him was solid at that point and he began the service. He diligently worked making sure to not damage anything, make sure he was neat and precise with his actions. I would periodically go to speak to him and he would with intent look me in the face express his correspondence. Afterwards I would leave satisfied and certain I was in good hands and confident in his knowledge, wisdom, and ability. When Rob was done he summoned me to see his work. The tank looked amazing and the work area where it was housed was cleaner and nearer than it was before he began (not that it was unkept)! He assured me of his confidence in his work. We exchanged more pleasantries, he looked me in the eye extended his hand for a shake stating. “It was a pleasure working for you.” I was blown away by his professionalism, integrity, and expert representation of his employment at Zenner and Ritter. 2023: contracted Z&R to install new AC units (compressors and ceiling units). There were a few hiccups with the initial install, but at the end of it all, I am very happy with the finished product. Here's what happened - after the initial installation, 2 of the 4 units didn’t work. Z&R sent someone out to fix them within a week, so that was nice. The outdoor conduit/lines were not installed correctly, and they sent someone out to fix it after a few more weeks. The initial installation was apparently rushed, however, and the best they could do without totally disassembling everything outside was an improvement, but it initially didn't look quite right. Overall, happy with the eventual AC inside, not too happy with the outside connections. Almost all of the ZR people were great. I think I just was unlucky with the original install team, who appear to have rushed things at the end.UPDATE: Z&R contacted me with a very strong desire to fix any remaining issues. They were very professional, helpful, and I'm looking forward to using them again.2014: Keith came out and installed a new furnace. Very friendly, professional, polite. I am very happy with the service, and so far the furnace is working quite well. They were also very respectful of the house and took their shoes off before coming into the home, unprompted from me.

I was very impressed by my entire experience with Zenner & Ritter. The representative that came to my home for the estimate was knowledgable and answered all the questions that I had. He helped me choose the perfect system for my home. The installers were equally impressive. Their attention to detail, technical expertise and high standard of excellence was wonderful to see. I have a duplex home. The new system was installed in my tenant apartment. Two new thermostats were also installed, one for each side of the house. The new thermostat that the company recommended has made my heating and cooling much more even without the house being too hot or too cold. I'm no longer constantly turning the temperature up and down to feel comfortable. It is bright and easy to read even without my glasses. Thank you Zenner & Ritter for a great job!

Ray knew business found the problem & restarted the furnace. Said the switch was the problem did not have that part with him. After he left about 20 minutes it shut down again I tried what he showed me but would not restart Green lights were blinking, I tried to get the switch to reset which I could hear it click but no fire would start. Then three blinks again. We have an electric space heater which I moved to the center of the house and went to bed. About 5 in the morning I head the furnace starting up and it was running by 6 the house was back up to set temperature. Still running ok at 11am.

Added a light in the basement of a former co-worker who recently had Zenner and Ritter install a 14kw Generac generator. The panel was full of double and triple taps for the transfer switch, so 2 and 3 wires per breaker. I plan on calling City of Buffalo Electrical inspector to find out what he inspected.

Customer Service called to advise me that the service man was in route including his name and estimated arrival timeEli Broshar arrived when expected. He was pleasant, courteous and efficient.When job was completed he gave me a review of my systems condition and advised me what was done and the possibility of a future issue.Very pleased with Zenner & Ritter. They have installed and maintained both my heating/hot water and central A/C for many years.
My central A/C failed on a Sunday and my house quickly rose to 84 degrees. Tech, Ryan Bigelow, called us back that afternoon after I called the on-call answering service and was completely honest regarding what he thought our issue was over the phone. He then came to our house later that evening, again this was a Sunday. He was friendly, personable, professional and showed us everything he was doing, walking us though the repair from start to finish. In 30-45 minutes the A/C was back up and running. Truly a first class experience from start to finish.

Before anyone from the company arrived I received a text message to let me know who was coming, what time they would arrive and what they looked like as well as their COVID- 19 policies they would be adhering to. Scott and Curt accommodated a request I had to relocate the thermostat, made sure it was where I wanted it and walked me through all of the settings and features on our new ultra efficient, super quiet Carrier HVAC unit. Mike S. was fabulous! He was at the house before I was, was very pleasant, immediately put on a mask when he saw I had one on and that I was holding my four month old baby (we have been extra cautious because our baby is so young, it's so refreshing when other people are thoughtful and respectful of that). He installed a condensate pump for our heating unit so it could drain into the basement sink before we sold our house. He was done in less than an hour, and was so professional. They also answered several more of my questions that I had about other things like my hot water tank. They are going to replace my whole furnace and hot water tank as they are 18 years old and not working (at least the furnace right now). Kevin helped me make the purchases which were best for me. He was awesome and I truly enjoyed our conversation! He knew I was unable to be around for the installation the day after and went out of his way to get guys here ASAP to at least get my new furnace going so I had heat. Dimitri showed up on time, did a thorough assessment of the furnace, answered every question I had regarding the furnace and the replacement furnace that I stand in need of and even left a space heater for the tenant that was affected by this issue. I had new central air installed in my home about 9 yrs ago and a new furnace 5 yrs ago by Zenner and Ritter and I've used them exclusively for routine maintenance. This is a very professional company. They go over and above the standard. Last year I had a problem with my air conditioning and Greg found the problem in about 10 minutes. He came again this year for the routine maintenance and he remembered us. Greg is professional, knowledgeable and personable. He makes sure you understand what he is doing and why. I highly recommend Zenner and Ritter and Greg as well.
D'mitri Serviced the Generac backup generator at our newly purchased home. He also explained the system operation to me and answer all my questions. Very pleased with Zenner and Ritter, phone calls were always answered, no waiting for call backs, informed when tech is on the way, and service performed professionally.
I have been using Zenner & Ritter for 7 years or so now. They started by installing a whole house generator & back up sump pump and handled the whole process in such a professional manner that I began using them for regular maintenance of my furnace etc. Very professional and trustworthy throughout the years. A few weeks ago the fan motor on my 15 year old furnace broke and I decided to replace the whole furnace and air conditioner rather than a repair. Z&R gave me the initial quote with four different pricing / equipment options and took care to find me rebates available. It's important to note that they help you understand the capabilities of the equipment as well. I also secured three other quotes from local companies and while Z&R may not have been the lowest price, they were close. I chose Z&R rather than the others because I know that there is a reputable local company that stands behind the most important equipment you have in the house. I know that there will be someone there if I have to call with an emergency at 2:00 AM. The install was done by Fulvio and another tech whose name I forgot (sorry). They were top notch. Clean, thorough, and great communication. The whole experience was good!

Rich was great. We've had him here before and like before, he was very knowledgeable and diligent. He was determined to fix our problem and he did. If we have service issues in the future we hope it's Rich who comes out.
Rich went above and beyond! We had been having issues with our boiler on and off for a year or so. Zenner and Ritter would come and fix the problem, but it would eventually reoccur. We thought maybe the equipment was a lemon. Today, Rich came at the end of the day, on a Saturday, and started out as the others had done. But rather than assume the problem was fixed, he did further troubleshooting as to why we have had so many problems. Eventually he figured out there was a rodent nest in the intake pipe, preventing oxygen from getting into the unit. He took the time to take the pipes apart, clean out the mess, and put it all back together. We are so grateful Rich went the extra mile and confident the issue will not happen again. Rich also took the time to explain it all and make recommendations on how to prevent it from happening again. We highly recommend Zenner and Ritter. Each of their staff has been wonderful to work with, and Rich went above and beyond.

We had 3 quotes on power generators. Brian was the only one I felt was telling me the truth. The company came in with a very reasonable quote and spoke in terms I could understand. Called Zenner and Ritter early in the morning and they said they could get someone out that day. Greg was my tech. He called prior to his arrival and right away got to work. Zenner & Ritter installed a 18KBTU heat pump in my house. I love the product and am very happy with it. However, there is a incentive available through the NY Clean Heat Program of which National Grid participates - but the installer (aka Z&R) must apply on my behalf. I tried applying myself but was told it has to be the installer. After three attempts to resolve with Z&R I have yet to be helped. I am told repeatedly that someone will call me back, but they never do. Very disappointed with Z&R's responsiveness... I am eligible for $400 for the heat pump that Z&R installed, but after several months of attempting to get help - no luck.

Whole house generator - I requested via phone for someone to call back regarding instruction to clear 4 codes. Technician was dispatched 5 days later and reviewed codes, indicating codes were erroneous due to snow which covered intake vents, then he cleared the codes. Technician was pleasant, reviewing his thoughts, showed me how to clear the codes then manually started generator to exercise the unit. Generator was found to be in good order - no issues. The visit cost me $129.41 which for 10 minutes of work is an excessive amount.
We have dealt with Z&R since they installed our furnace/ac years ago. Always a positive experience. We had spring maintenance done this time to give us peace of mind during the cooling season.

D'mitri was a very knowledgable, conscientious and personable tech. Did a great job explaining everything that he was doing. The furnace is 18 years old, and he tried to bring it back to life. Unfortunately the parts cost was becoming prohibitive for a furnace that age. He explained all the possible options and outcomes, never trying to push things. Really appreciated his desire to do what was best. Great guy.
Worked with Earl for estimates on replacing my furnace, hot water tank and adding AC. Great prices.. approved for the NYS rebate program. Once approved I was scheduled immediately and installation was completed on the furnace and duct work in a timely and professional manner. Next is hot water tank!!

I called Zenner & Ritter for 2 estimates, 1 on a new Boiler, and the other on a whole house generator. Rob Schadel spent a long time with me explaining and showing pictures of a new Lennox Boiler installed in another customer's home. He's friendly and is knowledgeable about the boiler systems and installation. Before he left, he sent a quote to my email so I could decide later what I wanted to do.Earl Farley also came to my house to give me an estimate on a whole house Generac generator. He also was friendly and has years of experience with Z&R. He too explained everything and showed me where the generator would be placed, and gave me a quote, which I signed that day to have it installed in about 5 weeks or more. It's nice to have a company that you can trust and rely on. The BBB gives them a 5 star rating.After I have the Boiler and Generator installed, I will give a complete review with pictures.

I contacted Zenner Ritter as a first time customer because my central AC was not working properly. It is super old and I honestly expected whoever came out to just use the opportunity to try to sell me a new unit. Not only did they not try to sell me a new unit, they fixed mine, checked EVERYTHING, cleaned EVERYTHING, and the service was outstanding from the phone call to the technician visit. I will definitely contact them in the future.

Bill Yaw came to my residence to work up a quotation for the purchase and installation of a Generac power back up system. Bill was very thorough and discussed options as we walked through the inside and outside of my home. He was extremely knowledgeable and provided information at various points of the walk-thru. Upon completion of the work up, he sat down with me and went over the proposal that was forwarded to my e-mail address for later reference. We had an unusual munchkin heating and cooling system installed in a crawl space under an addition years ago. No one has been able to fix it or get it running properly. It finally died right when the weather got cold. I called another company and they weren’t able to come for a week and a half but then I called Zenner & Ritter and they were able to come right away. The salespeople were ok but the service techs who installed the system were incredible!I highly recommend Brandon and Daniel!They were awesome! They showed up on time as promised and spent 2 days in a miserable tight crawl space installing our new heating and cooling system. The salesperson had recommended an AC unit that was way too large. Brandon was able to find one that met our needs and is just what I wanted. He also found us a better thermostat. He saved us money and got us the best products! Both Brandon and Daniel took care not to damage our house and cleaned up everything they used. I’ve had numerous repairmen in the 25 years I’ve lived in this home and I can genuinely say Brandon and Daniel did the best job ever! They are the only repair people I want to work here again!!!

Had one service rep break the boiler down @ our rental property and gave us the estimate to get back and running. Provided us a quote just under $1,000 to do the job right, saying we would get a potential 10 additional years of life with a safe system. Second service rep showed up 4 days later as scheduled for repair with a conflicting story and refused to do the work, expressing entire new boiler required. (15 minute evaluation with an Estimated $6,000-$8,000 worth of work required)Left us high and dry with a house un-heated for over a week. I took the time and fixed it with my business partner on a weekend for under $300...Scratching my head on how two separate service reps story could be at opposite sides of the spectrum. Its obvious service rep 1 was willing to do the work... rep 2, not so much??
Dave and Joel were fast, professional and detail oriented. Responded quickly and did an emergency copper water pipe repair. Highly recommend Z&R.

First time using this company after using another for some years. I received a call back from online request within a short time. Was given an appointment soon and they accommodated need to have it after a certain time that day. Received the name and photo of service person, he was very professional. Price is competitive. Wasn’t inundated with alot of sales pitches.
I have a stand alone generator that was installed by Zenner & Ritter several years ago. I get it serviced once a year to be sure it is in good working condition. This year, they are as busy as all businesses are and our service agent arrived later than planned. They normally are always on time. While you might expect that he would be frustrated at the late timing, he was friendly, efficient, and made sure that he explained everything that needed to be taken care of. This young man was so pleasant and at no time did we feel we couldn't ask him a question. They are a great company to work with.

Do not buy the home care package on the generator. The generator support guy Ricky said if I paid for their home support package they would monitor and help me. Well. My generator stopped working and they provided no support. Every time they came to my house they charged me for things that was part of my plan. I spent 2 days with their billing department to get a refund. The generator service is nowhere to be found when you need it. They told me they could monitor everything via wi-fi. They charged me 100 dollars to put a wi-fi extender to do this. I called their support line. I was a told a case would be filed. 10 hours later no follow up regarding helping me.I am pretty sure they pay their people based on sales. Because every time someone comes over it’s a sales pitch. I took the bait on the generator care. Do not do it.

The salesman that did the guote was very knowledgeable, he explained everything in detail and answered all our questions to our satisfaction.
He was very personable and was not pressuring us for an immediate decision.
My hot water tank gave out over the weekend, and they were able to schedule a replacement job ASAP on Monday. The technicians were on time, talked me through the whole process and were super courteous and kind. Most of all, they were professional and got the job done in no time. I truly thought that this would be an all-day affair, but they banged it out in a couple hours. Super impressed, and I would recommend them to anyone.(Oh, and to anyone concerned about Covid, they wore masks the whole time. Even when I said they didn’t have to since I’ve already had it and was vaccinated)

Our tech was very professional, answered all questions and explained what he was doing very well. In addition to doing the ac maintenance, he serviced our house generator according to manufacturer specs. He did a very thorough job in that as well as the ac maintenance. He wore a mask at all times while in the house and wore shoe coverings as well.

The problem is you overwork Greg due to manpower shortage and your inability to notify customer when repair will take place. Communication was poor. I believe your answering service is located out of state as they were unaware of blizzard. Parts are an issue . Thankfully we have heat now after a 17 day wait. Nate was at my house to do a maintenance check on my generator. Nate was very professional and explained everything that he was doing and why. It was nice that he didn't just replace something because he thought it was what was wrong with my generator. He was very understanding about how much my bill was going to be because he could tell that I was concerned as well. It is nice to have a company that can be trusted not to sell you parts just thinking that it might be the issue. I highly recommend them if you have any problems with your generator

The project took less than 5 hours to complete including cleanup and removal of the old furnace. I would recommend this business to friends and family.
I was so disappointed when our year old air conditioner stopped working yesterday evening. I called the emergency 24/7 service. A tech coming out after hours would cost extra, so I deferred to this morning. A Zenner and Ritter phone rep called promptly first thing. She couldn’t commit to a tech coming over today. I expressed my desire that it be repaired ASAP.I was delighted when I received a text within a half-hour that Jeremy was on his way. We dealt with Jeremy last year when we had an issue with our new air conditioner. He is top-notch! He quickly diagnosed this latest problem. It wasn’t the air conditioner at all but a faulty pump that we had installed with a new humidifier three months ago. The pump simply stopped working, and a fail safe was triggered to avoid water leaking onto our basement floor. So, that shut down the whole AC system.In any event, Jeremy switched out the pump. He tested it, and it worked properly. No charge. AC is back on! Indeed, we’ve had a couple of issues with equipment that had manufacturing defects and was not the fault of Zenner and Ritter. Stuff happens! But I’m very satisfied with Zenner and Ritter’s prompt response to these issues as well as the professionalism of Jeremy. So, I would highly recommend them!

They got a technician out to my place right away and he did a great job explaining that everything was fine with my system. He also checked to make sure that my humidifier was working properly and adjusted it.

Very thankful our generator was reset. The serviceman showed us what to look out for on the generator in case of another storm. He checked our furnace to make sure it was running properly and informed us about some maintenance that might be needed in the future. We have used Zenner and Ritter for the past 30-years and are very satisfied with our purchases and their service. Hopefully we will never see another storm of this magnitude again.
We called it in within a few hours. A repairman came decided that the boiler needed to be changed. The next day. Service man came took the measurements. This is Sunday and I had an estimate given to me within a half an hour settle down the price and they’ll do the work in the next couple of days, that’s good service. Thanks guys.
I called on Tuesday 11/30/2021 to make an appointment for them to go out to a rental property that lost heat. The tenant is without heat but the earliest they could get us in was Friday 12/3, so I took the appointment. I got a reminder text on thursday and at 8:45am Friday they called to cancel my appointment because they had “an influx of emergency appointments”. I’m not really sure why being without heat for days in Buffalo isn’t an emergency but they wouldn’t tell me why it wasn’t one. The girl kept repeating herself “we don’t have availability for your appointment”. Then why did you allow me to waste mine and my tenants time? This is extremely unprofessional- she wasn’t even apologetic, just rude. They wanted to reschedule me for a week later 12/9, so they clearly don’t think being without heat is an “emergency.” Don’t use this company in the winter months unless you want to be cancelled last minute.

The first year that I contracted with Zenner everything was good. On time, professional and reliable. This business has really gone down hill this past year.I scheduled the annual furnace check up months in advance. They pushed the date out 3 months without notifying me. I needed repair, no show then a surprise visit on a Saturday without notification.The tech was very unprofessional and recommended expensive unnecessary part replacement.I ended up calling another company who came quickly, on time, tech was very professional and fixed the problem for hundreds of dollars less!!!!

Wonderful experience! I just purchased my home and the new furnace had the Zenner and Ritter sticker on it...and since I'm unfamiliar with the area, I decided to go to them to add central air. The service was very prompt and courteous. The salesman came to my home on time and explained to me the various options and price points, as well as the importance of a matched system (same brand furnace and central air component) the installation went smooth and the guys were great. Explained the functionality and cleaned everything up. They even installed a new covered GFCI outlet to replace the existing one, even though it is not part of the cooling system. Next year I will be getting an air cleaner and humidifier. I highly recommend them!
Z&R did the initial install on my furnace and hot water tank, and now performed the annual checkup. So far so good! No complaints. Thanks for the great service!

I had a hot water tank start to leak this past weekend. I called and said it was not an emergency. I was a new customer the person on the phone was very Plesant took all my information down and would have someone call on Monday. I got a text Monday that the tech was on his way at 8:00am. He and his partner look at what was need quoted me a fair price and took care of the job right away. they replaced my Hot water tank and installed a C0 detector. they were very quick and clean. Bought water tank in October 2021 we then left driving to Florida April 2023, and after being there two days neighbor called saying there was water pouring out the front of my street. I had my neighbor go over to the basement and the drain valve on the hot water tank exploded. He shut everything off. Everything was OK due to his efforts then called Zenner & Ritter. They came out. Ordered a replacement valve and did the repair, which was under warranty. Nate did a great job very cordial guy.

I was pleased with Z&R and John and Sheldon, as all have delivered on their promises. I was apprised of their imminent arrival, who was coming, and reminded to be ready. They arrived in due course, introduced themselves, and set to work straightaway. It was a full day of work, so I stayed out of their way, but my questions were answered, I felt taken care of, and I trusted they were empowered with expertise and experience to install my unit. The older I get, the younger these workers seem, but I trusted the process, and was rewarded. They did all they were scheduled to do, politely, efficiently, and tested the system before leaving. It couldn't have gone better. All debris was removed and the premises returned to pre-work conditions. Yes, I swept the trackway, but that's to be expected. Nice work, John and Sheldon!

I have been using Zenner and Ritter for 12 years to perform maintenance on my whole house Generac generator. They give me courteous, professional service, and every time the power goes out in my neighborhood the generator runs like a trouper, and is totally dependable. Aaron was very thorough and communicative throughout the visit. He explained what he was doing at every step, let me know what his recommendations were for things that weren't necessarily needed that second and shared the pricing of everything so I could decide before he did any work. Not to mention I called that morning about needing service and had him at my door a few hours later. Very impressed all around.

Called in the evening with a leak coming out from hot water piping from the hot water tank. Info taken down and i said it was not an emergency, was told a morning call would be made to set up a time. Next morning a call, set up a time and everything went as planned. Very professional 👏

I have used Zenner & Ritter for over 30 years for heating and air conditioning installation and service. They a well established, well-run operation and can handle any job. They have always been prompt, professional, and reasonably priced.D'mitri has been their tech on the last two or three calls. He's courteous, knowledgeable, and will go the extra distance to explain what he's done, why he did it, and what he recommends clearly and transparently. As a customer I appreciate this.The next week, Bill came out and did an evaluation, recommended a boiler, and prepared an estimate. Bill is a man who clearly loves his job and has appreciation and knowledge of the older hot water heating systems common in Buffalo. I'm confident that the boiler he recommended is the best choice for my house.

Earl Farley did an absolutely outstanding job of providing technical information and pricing for replacement heating equipment. He answered every question with great technical knowledge and no confusion or need for additional research. He is extremely well-informed, and a complete pleasure to work with.
Bill came to give us an estimate for whole house generator. I was very please with the time he took to explain the process and attention to details.Matt, Chris, Mike and David came to start the install of our generator. We're still waiting for the generator due to Covid and multiple hurricanes and wild fires this season. The team was professional and courteous. The job site was left clean and organized, quite an accomplishment considering the inch of rain the day before. Looking forward to the final hookup in the next week.
Sump pump was replaced plus the discharge pipe from water back-up pump was extended and re-directed so water flows away from home. Dave arrived promptly with his assistant and both were pleasant, considerate of my property, and efficient.
We recently had new granite counter tops installed. This required the plumbing to be disconnected prior to installation and reconnected after the installation. Mark Altobelli of Zenner and Ritter performed both services, and I am glad he did. He did an excellent job and was very professional. He performed the work as if he were working on his own house. I would use Mark Altobelli and Zener Ritter for all my plumbing, heating and cooling needs.
Very friendly, fast professional service at a fair price. We will definitely be using them again! Our hot water tank went yesterday and they literally had us set up for an appointment in less than 24 hours!

The salesman Marc, was excellent. He answered all of my little questions. He explained everything in full detail so I understood what we were getting. The installer was courteous and professional and had the job done in a timely manner.
Extremely and very professional company. Very courteous and customer friendly. Installed a outside generator and fully explained all details of the project. Covid hindered obtaining the generator we ordered. This was not the fault of the company. Recommend this company highly.

They did an excellent job performing maintenance work on my generator. The technician explained everything so well. He was very nice and courteous!
The technician was friendly and professional. He gave us useful tips on regular care for our furnace and manually, set the date and time on our Google nest because it didn't have enough power to connect to Wi-Fi when installed. The price for everything seemed reasonable, too. But I took of one star for the inconvenience of having our original appointment rescheduled the day before. Despite that I would still recommend this service.

I've been a zenner and ritter customer for more than a decade - they have installed my furnace, central air, water heater, and whole house generator. I pay the annual maintenance fee because they told me that not only do they check and maintain the furnace, air conditioner, and whole house generator but you also give priority to maintenance contract customers on your 24/7 call line.I started calling their repair line Friday when my generator stopped working (they installed it just a year ago and did an annual maintenance check just a few months ago)Their answering service was no help whatsoever and stopped working late Friday night.I finally got through to generac and the rep helped me figure out some possible causes of the generator not working. Eventually I was able to get it running for a few hours at a time. But then my furnace wouldn't restart.Just a call back from a technician would have been appreciated. I was once a zenner and ritter customer for life, but now you've lost a customer for life. Their maintenance contract is a joke., and borders on fraud. I will be expecting a full refund.

So further update, four years after install of our Generac generator package and three years into maintenance agreements with Z&R. Techs who are assigned are quite competent. You get what you pay for. I do mind the extra cost for distance from Z&R to our home in southern Erie County... kinda cheesy as a policy goes... but I appreciate the consistent high level of service.Hey, an update here... Sam Buncy showed up within two hours of my call at 9:30 a.m. on a hot Thursday morning. Our AC did not function, system was installed by subcontractor on our new home less than three years ago. Generac power management module failed. Fortunately Z-R installed our Generac, Sam bypassed the faulty unit and serviced our AC while he was here. Outstanding. Great value. Will do more business. Recommend.Jim Brainerd is terrific at our hydronic heating system needs. Top notch.We just had our Schedule A service done by Brian from Z-R, on the Generac emergency generator. Great work, fairly priced. Good education on continuing use of our great generator & transfer switch. (9-7-21)

We had new furnace and a-c installed. I liked that Zenner & Ritter provided a detailed list on the estimate so when the service tech informed me that I didn’t need a wire for my new thermostat I knew exactly what was taken off the bill. The service techs were great - showed up on time, cleaned up after they left and explained everything they had done. Would 100% recommend them to anyone.
When Joe came over to give me estimates, he wasn’t pushy to make a sale, that’s what I really like about him. He explained both options and I told him I would get back to him. Shelton & Ethan did a great job with my HVAC installation, they were on time, professional and friendly. They left my basement clean, couldn’t even tell they were there. Very satisfied with the help of the office staff, Joe, Shelton and Ethan, will definitely recommend Zenner & Ritter to my family and friends.

Had a new generator installed. Met with the company representative to discuss replacing my old generator. He explained everything very well. I was given a time frame for installation and it was met. The people that arrived today were on time and explained everything that they would be doing step by step. Said they would be turning off all power and approximately how long before power would be turned back on. This job took quite a few hours as there was much work to do. They kept having to go down in the basement and back outside. There were at least 4 people working on the project. When they were done they came in to tell me what to expect during a power outage & the noises I would hear as the system kicked in. These people work hard. Zenner & Ritter have the best people working for them. Even the support staff that takes your calls are pros.
Tom provided us with information on the estimate for putting in a house standby generator. He was well informed and did a good presentation without any pressure to make a decision immediately. Great job.

Generator would shut off after 30 seconds . Rich came out , had the problem resolved in no time . Cleaned up his work.

After 19 years my furnace stopped working. Although a Friday night service call could not fix the problem, Ray helped get me a fair quote that night and Shawn and Ben completed the install on Saturday by 2pm. The job was done efficiently and the area was clean. Shawn answered all questions and assisted with the thermostat setup. Did not expect to have a large expenditure this weekend but it helped to have service that exceeded expectations. Thank you all.
Zenner and Ritter was recommended to me by a family member who works in a similar industry, and said they had a great reputation. We had an awesome experience with them doing the install, and would definitely use them again. Friendly, genuinely helpful, good work- what more can you ask for?

They replaced my furnace and did a fantastic job. They came the next day since I didn’t have heat. They had the best price on a better unit than their competitors. They even managed to extend my old ductwork instead of completely replace it like they had quoted me and saved me a few hundred dollars during installation. I’m very pleased with them.

Furnace decided to quit on a ten degree day. They were very responsive and did great work. Technician Aaron was very polite and informative.
It was a pleasure having Aaron take care of our thermostat problem. We had a smart thermostat installed by another company, the thing was not working and the company was unable to resolve the problem, Aaron found the problem, and actually had to remove and replace the faulty unit. I found that my house wiring wasn't compatible with the smart technology, and Aaron got our A/C running properly in short order ! Thanks Aaron and Zenner & Ritter !!!!

It was Nate G. and I think Brad, They did a great job and I was very happy with them.
Bill was very courteous and knowledgeable. He went out of his way to point out some ways we can affordably make our house more energy efficient and came across as very trustworthy. I am very impressed with Zenner & Ritter so far through the estimate process, and really appreciate what I think was very fair and reasonable pricing and not trying to up-sell me on things I don’t need like some of their competitors.
