Dennis and his crew were fairly priced, reliable and punctual, they came when promised!! They were very neat and clean in their workmanship as well as careful. They installed 4 fans and a light fixture and installed new outlets as well as moved some existing ones for us. They did a great job & came highly reccomended. I would definitely use them again in the future.

We have been searching for a reliable electrician and have found one with York Electrical. We have used York twice over the past 2 months for relatively minor work (Outdoor light install and ceiling fan replacement and install) and am extremely pleased with the all around quality of service. In both cases, they were responsive, professional and reasonably priced. It didn't matter how small of a job, as they treated me with the same quality service regardless of if it was a small or large job. The most recent work was performed by Shawn and Dennis. They had to come twice (first to install new box and second to install fan) to finish the job because I had purchased an incorrect ceiling fan. They honored the original quote and did not charge me for coming back, even though I purchased the wrong fan. Both times they were available either the same day or next day from the day I made the appointment. They arrived on time and were extremely professional. They clearly explained the work that needed to be done in easy-to-understand layman's terms. They were respectful and cleaned up thoroughly after completing the job. I have additional work needing to be done in the next several months and am happy to have finally found a reliable electrician.

I called the office this morning. I asked for a quote to install the wall mount charger for tesla. Denis answered my call right a way. He told me he would be at my house in 15 minutes.
He arrived in less than 15 minutes, inspected the electrical panel, suggested the best location where the charger should be installed, and gave me a very reasonable price.
He said he would call me to schedule the installation by later today.
I am amazed by his quick response and courteous and professional service. I will keep you updated after the installation.

I don't know if Google provides enough space for me to express how happy I was with my call to York Electrical Contractors. It was already late in the day when we encountered a problem with the electrical in one room. Two out of three room outlets were out and it cut off power to parts of the kitchen and bathroom. No one was seemed to be available or wanted to deal with that during the night. I liked the other reviews here for York so I decided to give it a final try. They answered, and I am grateful. After my son gave them as best an explanation possible of the situation as he could, they explained how the service would work and their availability. They got someone out to me that same night.

Dennis and everyone at York are some of the most polite and professional people I have had the pleasure of calling in on a job. My son guided them through the situation so they could assess and determine a course of action. They were beyond patient and very dedicated to making sure the issue was resolved. My son was very impressed with how they conduct themselves. Think of that quick sand moment where one thing goes wrong and then another and another. That overwhelmed feeling as a homeowner or property manager? It was put completely at ease. Dennis arrived with a fully loaded vehicle ready to tackle nearly anything. Even at a late hour York Electrical performed their repairs as if it was the first job of the morning.

Everything was resolved. It was an adventure, but the job was done. Outlets were all back in working order and the other areas had power restored as well. The work was looked over and checked more than once to make sure we were left without any further issues. The prices were very fair and I am already telling friends and family about them. I hope this review convinces somewhere out there who may be hesitant to give York Electrical Contractors a try. I know I will be calling them again if I ever have a future repair, upgrade or installation need.

The electricians from York Electric were quick, clean, and reasonably priced. They hard wired a few smoke/CO2 detectors in my house. They had a fine dust vacuum to collect the sheetrock dust when cutting. Sean and Dennis were careful, clean, and skillful. We are elated.

I had them do an EV charging installation (chargepoint) and it was a nice experience. The guys really knew their stuff and the job was done efficiently. Reasonable pricing as well. They kept the area clean. I would highly recommend this company.

I had a problem with the wiring in a ceiling lamp that 2 electricians previously spent 2 hours fixing, but it only lasted a week. It also took a fairly long time for the York guys, but they were very nice the whole time, charged less, and it's working fine so far. Would definitely use again for any electrical need

Incredibly professional is the best way to describe this Company. York Electrical gave me a fair estimate for the work, showed up as promised, both for the est. Apt. and the promised date of work. His staff was very corteous and professional and when they were done, broom swept and left everything clean. Dennis, the owner, stopped in on the day of work several times to check and ensure all was going to plan. After I paid, I realized a small item was missed. I called Dennis next morning and he had someone there that same afternoon to fix.
I would not hesitate to use this company again and I strongly reccomend them to anyone else without hesitation. A phone # to keep in my contacts as there are not many company's out there like this.

Had a situation close to closing where an inspection for an older upgrade to an electrical panel was not cleared from county records, and the original contractor was now out of business. York was a recommended electrical contractor to deal with the open permit issue, and I found them responsive and efficient in getting the permit issue cleared quickly. Dennis and his workers are very professional. I left a message in Angi in the middle of night. He called me the next morning and inspected my apartment the following day. I got all the work done in one day. Also he did paperwork quickly since my place is a coop building. The management needs a licence and insurance. He is cooperative. His workers are manners. They cleaned up after they did the work. Also helped me to install the smoke detector even though that is not their part of the job.

My smoke alarm started chirping for no reason, I called York Electrical at 11:30am and the electrician was at my door before 1p. Smoke alarm was replaced, and my sanity was saved! This is 2nd time I've used York. Great, professional service!

When we needed all new outdoor lighting around the complex the first company we thought of was YORK ELECTRICAL CONTRACTORS! York is fantastic! They came quickly and gave a free estimate for the work. Scheduled the work quickly, showed up on time, were respectful of my property, and gave a fair price. I Worked with Dennis who was very professional and respectful. As I am a single female some contractors are rude or dismissive. Dennis was not. He had two young men complete the work and they were done in a timely fashion.

I was having trouble with the lights around my pool area. 2X's I hired a handy man/ electrician to fix the problem, and whatever they did fixed the problem.... 'temporarily'. I was at my wits end. I searched for electricians in my area, and YORK was at the top of the list. I read the reviews and they were all glowing reviews. I was initially hesitant, thinking how could this company have all good reviews? Boy, was I ever wrong.
I placed the call and spoke to Dennis. We made an appt. to assess the situation. He told me he could fix my problem, and gave me an estimate. He also told me I could replace all the lighting we had, and still fix my problem, and the cost was not that much more.
Dennis was so reassuring, and my wife and I both felt very comfortable with what he was saying, we said Ok LET'S DO IT.
Are we ever glad we did.
The new lighting completely transformed the appearance of my pool area. As you can see by the picture and short video, it now looks like some fancy resort.
Dennis knows his stuff, and you can be assured, he puts everything into each job, as if it was his own.

The York electricians replaced my very old (think screw-in fuses) electrical panel and they also replaced a light fixture and switch. They were very pleasant and professional and they did a good clean-up job at the end. The price I paid was the same as the estimate and very reasonable for the amount of work required. This is an example of how you run a company. Dennis is flawless and his crew are flawless! My Mustang Mach E is now on a Level 2 charger and it is a bid difference from using Level 1 for so long. My panel was replaced and it was no easy feat when you are dealing with a home that is close to 100 years old. Dennis made it happen and both jobs were performed in 1 day. I highly recommend them.

I was up all night after an electrician botched the whole job and ruined the wiring for my new dryer. I called Dennis at 3am to leave a message and he called back at 7:30am. He was so understanding and really took the time to talk to me about what I should do about the situation and send he was sending two guys out. They were there within an hour and a half! He gave me a price over the phone after I sent pictures and explained it all. The guys that arrived came in a licensed van and brought all there own equipment. (Which the previous “handyman” did not.) They were extremely polite and professional. They fixed everything PERFECTLY and in a timely manner. I could hardly hear them working either, so quiet! After it was finished they had made sure everything was hooked up correctly and turned on the machines. They went OUT OF THEIR WAY to re do horrible work that was done. Professional, firendly and reliable electrician who fixed my mother's circuit breaker panel. The team at York Electrical are all gentlemen and experts at their craft. They listened to what I wanted and delivered an exceptional final work product. They spent extra time planning the job to ensure it was the best job possible. They were installing 2 EV Chargers in my garage and needed to run a new service line from my main panel in the basement to the garage, plus install a new sub-panel and the two 220v outlets and chargers.

They sketched out a great design, ordered quality materials and then completed the entire job in a single day. They found the best path from my existing panel to the new panel which simplified the job and caused the least need for sheetrock repairs. I’m so happy that I chose York Electric. Dennis and his team are very professional with their work and they also treat you like family. I recently moved to a new house and we wanted to update the circuit breaker, outlets, switches, have recessed lighting installed in many of the rooms and also add outdoor outlets. They ran a 220v wire over ceilings and behind the walls for an electric stove outlet. In spite of the construction mess, they left the place spotless!

My coop is converting our cooking gas to electric and hired York Electric to do the job. They ran new 220 lines, installed new outlet and did necessary work to circuit breakers. I’ve used York Electric a few times in the past. Always have been extremely happy with their work. The most recent time I used them for a complete gut of my previous electric service in my house which was 100 amp and had it converted to a 200 amp service along with changing and upgrading all fixtures/outlets/switches and adding high hats, and lights throughout the whole interior and exterior of the house. Also running wire throughout for A/V, alarm system and for the Sonos Sound system. Dennis, Tommy and the rest of the York Electrical team were amazing. I didn't actually use York Electric, but not because I didn't want to. Dennis explained to me that I didn't need to pay for his services because a different contractor held the permit to do the work on my home and I should hold them accountable. He gave me all the information I needed to do just that. He helped me even when he didn't have to and wasn't going to get a dime from me. I really appreciate that there are still good people out there and Dennis is one of them.

My electrical outlet in the bedroom suddenly died and when I confirmed that it was not the circuit breaker, I knew I needed an electrician. I asked around and got only one referral, who never called me back, even though I left a few messages. I guess my job was not big enough for him. I then looked on Google and Yelp and found York Electrical, who had all excellent reviews. Well, I was not disappointed. The person who came was extremely professional and friendly. Especially as a woman, it's important that I feel comfortable with any service person coming into my home. Well, I was and he immediately determined the problem and fixed it. The price was also good and I didn't feel like I was being over charged. I highly recommend these electricians to anyone requiring their services.

I have had 2 experiences with YORK ELECTRIC. One was to install in the correct wires for a ductless AC system. The second was to repair an electric plate. I called and gave pix on a weekend, problem was diagnosed on the phone (not an emergency) and showed up promptly that Monday. Very good experiences and I would recommend highly. I have taken some time in sending my review of the electrician I called for the job because I needed to purchase a new TV, otherwise, I would have sent this the following day of his visit. I only have high praises to say about Dennis and his company. I called York Electrical one late afternoon and explained to Dennis that I had burned out my plasma TV. He said that perhaps the issue may not be all that costly. We made plans he would come the following morning to check all. He said that a couple of his workers would come in the afternoon to repair cables and increase the wattage. The cost for the job was minimal. Dennis is not only a nice person but also very fair, personable, punctual, and tries to give you the best deal possible. In other words, he does not take advantage. This type of professionalism is rarely seen these days. I trust him, and if and when, I need an electrician, he will be my go-to guy. I highly recommend him!

I called York Electric for the first time and go his phone message. Normally you don't get a quick response BUT I received a call back almost immediately. I was having a problem with an outlet getting very HOT with a heater plugged in. They sent someone over almost immediately and replaced the outlet. Unfortunately, it was a childproof outlet that was extremely difficult for me to insert a plug. I called again and the owner personally came over and fixed it. I would highly recommend this company. They are extremely capable and efficient. They respond to customer needs right away. I am a homeowner and also a real estate broker. We hired York Electrical to take care of two rooms that we needed more light in and our bathroom that needed two GFI outlets, one with a switch. They added a motion sensing light for our hall pantry closet and a ceiling light fixture with three lumen options with a switch in our bedroom entry by our linen closet. Both areas were too dark and dreary for years and lit by battery lights or flashlight. Now we have a tremendous amount of pleasant light that expands out to illuminate everything beautifully, saving us time and we are now able to quickly see everything in our closets, no more searching in dark recesses. We have a new safe GFI circuit for our bathroom and an extra outlet near the ceiling so we can mount a wall fan dehumidifier which will dry out the bathroom much quicker and eliminate mold. Dennis and his workers, foreman Josh and younger Dennis, showed up on time and worked as a team, steadily, efficiently, quietly respectful and safe. All holes were plastered, all debris removed, areas cleaned and vacuumed with a powerful shop vac. Dennis took care of all permits and paperwork for our coop management at no extra cost. Everything went smoothly and was completed between 9-5 with a short lunch break for his men. I found York on the web, but also, our building management has used them regularly before and highly recommended York without knowing that I had already decided on them. All phone and email contact and the workers and Dennis himself, all conducted professionally and quickly. Dennis personally checked the progress several times throughout the day and followed up after by phone to make sure we were satisfied. I was confident in the outcome because they clearly know their business well. We are very happy customers and highly recommend York Electrical if you need their services. Totally satisfied ! I needed to update to circuit breakers and do some additional electrical work and my neighbor recommended York. I contacted them and Dennis came up right away to assess the situation. I had a proposal that same day. I needed to get approval from my coop before I could do the work. Dennis gave me all the information necessary to get approval and do the job. They finished today and did a great job. They are very professional and know what they are doing. They also make sure that everything is cleaned up before they leave. I highly recommend them.

I purchased my home and some of the lights in the house were not working. So I hired York Electrical contractors to come and do an inspection and let me know what was wrong. Tommy came and did an inspection and found that the wiring had been done incorrectly throughout the house. He stated that he could not leave the hose as is due to dangerous existing conditions. Apparently the previous owner had hired a cheap electrician ( not well qualified in my opinion). All I can say is my family and I were lucky ! We shall be forever thankful to Tommy and his crew. If you need electrical work done in your house and you are thinking about hiring your friend or cousin who just happens to delve in electrical work as a hobby, you will need to hire these guys to come and check on your friends work. I worked with Thomas to upgrade my panel, install a few outlets in areas of my home that were lacking, and even repaired a light fixture that unexpectedly went from bright to dim. They were professional, responsive, and clean. Couldn’t have gotten better service on such short notice anywhere else.

I was looking for a electrician to change old glass fuse panel and move meters to outside for awhile. More than 10 electricians came spend about an hour and prices were not affordable for me.

I contacted Dennis a week ago about a light fixture in the dining room that was not working. York Electric just recently completed some electric work I desperately needed in my basement. I've been using York for the last ten years and they are the most reliable contractor that I've ever hired. When I had my kitchen renovation I hired a general contractor who had an electrician that he works with but I insisted we use Dennis @York Electric when the work was completed even my contractor was quite impressed. I had an electrical violation for my building and like everybody these days, we “google” everything. Like everybody, I did my google search for an electrician and of course for the highest rated electrician. Up popped “York Electrical”, but like most people, I am always the pessimist, with the 5 star reviews, but I gave it a try and called. Once I called, Dennis picked up the phone within the third ring. I was totally surprised that the proprietor of the business would pick up, it was just like what the other reviewer said, the owner picks up all calls, its true! I was shocked, usually I would get a secretary or a person on the other line that would simple say, “uh-huh, sure, let me get someone to call you back”. Not with York, Dennis listened to my problem and told me immediately if he was able to help me or not. Dennis listened intently and asked me questions about my issue and treated my issue with the utmost care and respect that he would treat a multi-million dollar deal, of course my issue was minute compared to huge jobs, but the respect that I got from him and York Electrical made me feel that my issue was his issue, and he would take care of it.
As promised, Dennis delivered, within 3 days, the electrical permit was issued and the DOB inspection happened with no issue. I want to thank Dennis in the way he treats his customers the old school way. We hired York to upgrade our main electrical service for our strip center. This was a huge job requiring constant coordination with ConEd and other city departments. Dennis was professional and upfront regarding the challenges and costs of the job. His crew did great work and the finished product was exactly what we expected (and NEEDED for our tenants). Following that job, we had York return to rewire a fire damaged basement to ensure the space was safe for occupancy and, again, the job was done very well. This is a family business as Dennis runs York with his cousin, and his son works on site. No complaints. I strongly recommend York.

York was called in to repair electrical meter banks. Great job replacing the banks and upgrading Meyers as well. Little down time limiting adverse effects on residents. I would highly recommend their services.

I had called 3 other places that did not respond. Dennis answered the phone, asked about the issue, explained possible options, and was upfront with cost. He scheduled workers, texted 10 mins before arrival, and resolved the problem of replacing the outlet completely. They left the area clean. And he followed up afterward to make sure outlet was working. Overall, very pleased with the service.

I needed some electrical work in a commercial space completed right away. I called in the morning and YORK had someone out to my space in the afternoon. Tommy provided prompt and solid service as well as some very friendly conversation. He not only fixed the issue I called him about but he identified the root cause of our circuit breaker failures and suggested installing some service switches to prevent future failures. Can’t say enough good things! Had an electoral emergency - buzzing noise in one of my lines. Called at 9:00 am, on. Sunday! It's not often that you find a contractor that is responsive and knows the job. I was referred to Dennis at York from one of my other vendors, and I am glad that I found him. His guys were professional, to the point and knew exactly what they were doing. I would gladly use them for any other electrical work that I need to have done.

What most impressed me about York Electric was not just the speed at which they did the job overall – but the completeness of the patchwork and cleaning follow-through – when they left, not only was everything working, but the entire place was primed, ready to be finished and spotless! Most firms will do a good job – York Electrical Contractors, Inc. did a “complete job” - from beginning to end!!

We closed on an apartment that had an open electrical permit for a remodeled panel that was no longer up to code. York Electric upgraded the panel perfectly and brought it up to code, ensuring that it would pass inspection. The job was initially thought to take two days, but it was all completed in a day.
