They came to repair my main sewer line and left my front yard a mess, destroyed the irrigation system, did a poor job of replacing the line.

Best service hands down.

A week ago the prior owner of our condo had a simple leaky faucet repaired as a part of repairs for the home sale. We moved in and attempted to wash the tub when the faucet let loose completely gushing water and we had to shut the water off. We called Sunshine and they said they would not warranty their work just a week later because we were different owner. They then demanded a prepaid 160.00 fee to diagnose what they did wrong. We called some one else, and so should you.

In late November 2022, I had a maintenance issue with my Carrier furnace that was installed by Sunshine Plumbing and Heating in 2011. I called for service on November 30th. When I asked for a service appointment, I was told that they were not scheduling service calls. I assumed that meant, in the short term, they were too busy. I asked for a later date, perhaps in January, and was told “we’re not scheduling service calls”. I told the person that over the past years, I spent over $12k with Sunshine, and what was I supposed to do? I was told to “find another contractor”!!!! I asked to speak to a manager, and was transferred to a voicemail. I left a message with my cell phone number and never heard back. Later that night, I went on-line to the Sunshine website. The site still has a portal to file a service request. I filed a service request, and that has gone unanswered. On 12/2/22, I contacted another heating contractor, got immediate service, and the maintenance problem has been resolved. My purpose in filing this review is to alert potential customers of Sunshine of this experience. I have no idea what is going on with Sunshine that caused their unacceptable response; however, I will never do business with them again. I gave this review 1 Star, only because I had to; it's really ZERO STARS.

My toilet wasn't flushing and they got a technician out in a few hours. He was friendly and quick. Always nice to have a flushing toilet.

My mother had Sunshine install a new Aerocool swamp cooler on her home last summer. The installation was done poorly with the tech not sealing the holes in the roof from the old cooler, installing the wrong sized motor, and not setting the pulley speed coorect. Over a month later Sunshine finally came and fixed these problems. On startup this spring one of the fan bearings was dry and the seal had failed. Since it was less than a year old I figured Sunshine would replace under warranty (either their 1 year warranty or the manufacturer's 2 year warranty). Sunshine said the warranty was void because we didn't pay them to start up the unit this spring. I'm now working with Aerocool warranty department to have the bearing replaced. I should have learned my lesson earlier when Sunshine cut roof truss in my house when installing duct work a few years earlier. I cannot recommend Sunshine and I suggest avoiding them at all costs.

I've had Sunshine out to my home twice as well as several other local companies at various times over the years. Sunshine has by far been the best service I've received.

scheduled an appt back in April based on the good reviews online and was told they needed to order certain parts to fix my bathroom leak. We waited for two months without any updates and called back in mid-June to follow up. We were told the technician will be in touch with us. It is almost end of July still have not heard a word back. We are beyond disappointed. Would not recommend.

November 2014 our original furnace decided to quit and the weather was getting cold. We called Sunshine Plumbing & Heating and we had a new Carrier furnace in a few days. The other companies we contacted couldn’t even get to the house for weeks.

Then this past summer our swamp cooler decided to quit. Who did we call; Sunshine Plumbing & Heating. They had a challenge getting a new system in the furnace space in our 1969 tri level home, but they did it. We now have a Carrier heating and air conditioning system that is fantastic.
We can’t praise the personnel at Sunshine Plumbing & Heating enough, they are great!

We live in Placitas and have used Sunshine Plumbing several times. We have always received excellent service at reasonable costs. Our latest serviceman, Shane, was efficient, professional, and courteous. We will continue to use Sunshine for all our plumbing and heating needs. Shane even did his best to keep our costs down since our final bill was less than the estimated charge. Thank you!!

I paid Sunshine to get my swamp cooler ready for the summer. I had done it myself the previous year, but it leaked a lot. Sunshine charged me $130, but it still leaked. I called them and they came back out, told me my hose bib wax responsible for the leak and charged me a $90 service fee. I had the bib replaced (it was leaking a little bit) and the swampy is still leaking. I feel like Sunshine saw that bib leak and took the opportunity to blame the problem on something that wasn’t their responsibility instead of looking at their own work. I’ve paid them $200+ and my cooler works no better than it did last year.

Very expensive. Still charged us the service fee of $75 in addition to the $260 to fix our toilet. Will definitely not use them again.

We had them install a mini split system on our addition. The system worked great for about 3 or 4 days but then started not blowing cold. I looked at the unit and saw where the freon was leaking and called them back. They told use that the cause was 2 service valves that both started leaking at the same time on a brand new unit and not their line set connections which was where I saw the freon leak was coming from and charged us another 500.00. I called to argue the bil but was told they didn't touch that area so not their fault. I won't be using them again.

I had a hard time getting someone to call me back after multiple attempts to have my work completed. Once I got a hold of someone, it took a couple weeks to have the work actually done. If the pricing hadn't been so competitive, I would have gone somewhere else. I was sorely disappointed to see my poor lawn ripped to shreds after the work was done, though I suppose there is no way around this.

Tevor from Susnhine Plumbing came out and fixed my sinks in the bathrooms that another plumber did not fix properly. Trevor was able to let me know exactly what was needed----then he got the parts and fixed it.
My wife and I are so happy that our sinks work properly now. Thanks to Trevor and Sunshine Plumbing we will call again with our plumbing problems. Stan and Donna B

We got our furnace and A/C Unit installed by Sunshine in 2009 and it has been working like a charm - they have great Customer Service and their maintenance personnel are very friendly, know the product every time they come to the house for maintenance twice a year. I highly recommend them!!!

At This Point, They’ve Basically Stolen My Money

I called up Sunshine Plumbing to do a sewer inspection on a property I was interested in, after the general home inspection found there were potential blockages.

Sunshine came out fast enough and did some kind of sewer inspection, but that’s when all sense of responsibility and service ended.

After the inspection was done, I had to call them multiple times to try and get the inspection report and their cost estimate for fixing the issues they uncovered. This was all under a tight timeline that Sunshine knew about, and because of their delays, I missed several important deadlines in the deal. Eventually, Sunshine sent me a “report” that was basically a hand written report by the lady at the front desk, not the actual inspector. This report was bare bones, didn’t have any kind of cost estimation, or explanation of issues that they found. It basically just told me that there was a blockage. Sunshine’s report was less informative than the general inspection report I got on the sewer line. I spoke to about 6 people, including a manager there, asking for a more informative report and cost estimations. Nothing EVER materialized.

So eventually, we had to go with another plumbing company to get what we needed, but two weeks had already gone by. I called Sunshine on in late Dec. to ask for a refund. They were totally accommodating on the phone and said they understood and even apologized.

Over a month later, I still have gotten no refund. I’ve called four times about it now, and I keep getting the same excuse that “So and so needs to approve it and they are out.” Or, “Our finance team will be releasing those refunds at the end of this week.” All BS. I feel like at this point they’ve just stolen my money and I won’t ever see it again. Avoid using this place at all costs. They will over promise, under deliver, and keep any payments you made to them. If I could give them negative stars, I would.

I rarely have good customer service experiences anymore so when they do occur I am excited to share. We had one company come out and say they could not find our AC leak. They said we needed to then repipe from attic above 2nd floor down to ground level outside to the unit. This was going to run us $5k+ (not to mention have new piping down the prominent face of our house). I decided to get a 2nd opinion and called Sunshine. These guys were so personable and professional. They ran one test and found the leak in minutes. It was in fact outside and on the unit itself. So, had we re-piped the whole system from the attic and paid thousands we would have still had a leak! I am a nurse and mom of 3. No one deserves to be lied to but I truly don't understand these things and I'm so glad I found a company that advocated for me and is doing the right thing for my home and family. Highly recommend Kurston and Josh! Thankful for companies that value their customers.

Sunshine plumbing helped us out replacing part of our distribution pipes on our community water system. We had difficulty getting anyone to do the work on our system, but these folks came through, the work was phenomenal, the price was great and our results were fantastic.
During the process the supervisors and workers were extremely professional and competent. They were able to get all the work done quickly with very few interruptions in service.
Our distribution system services several families and they were very informative and patient with all of our questions and requests.
They went above and beyond and I would recommend them to anyone in need of plumbing services.

One of their trucks was driving erratically at 7 this morning on I40. If they plumb like they drive, I don't want them anywhere near my pipes

We thought we had a water leak from our main water line to our home in our front yard, and Bobby from Sunshine plumbing came out and helped us find the problem. Bobby was honest, reliable and very professional. He gave us reassurance by showing us where the leak was, and that it wasn’t our water line to the house! He also showed us how to repair the leak! I wouldn’t wish plumbing problems on anyone, BUT if you find yourself in that hole, CALL SUNSHINE! They were fast, reliable and so honest. We will be using them again in the future!

I called to have them look at heater in garage
and they said I need entire new system, so I called well name company and they fix no problem. Sunshine ripoff business

Called and asked for an estimate. Receptionist wasn't sure which department would give the estimate, but they'd find out and I'd be contacted soon. Almost a week later and no call.

Kirsten Kramer came out today to check on our air conditioning. Very knowledgeable, professional and honest. I highly recommend Sunshine!

The service was prompt but seemed way over priced. We got what we thought was a worse case scenario quote. Simple main line repair, we had the hole already 1/3 partially dug and the water turned off. They sent 3 people, 1 to dig, 1 to supervise, and 1 to parts run. 3 hours later the repair was done and landscaping was mostly cleaned up. This was on a weekday mid day. and sent us a bill for $2000. Invoice had 0 details about labor or parts, just said leak repair.

They just finished a sewer project on a house I sold. They were communicative, friendly and most importantly did the job the correct way while still doing their best to save me money. I'll work with them again, for sure!

They rescheduled 3 times than said on the 4 time they’d be out from 2-4 but come 4 nobody had came or given a curtesy call. Don’t recommend for residential needs they seem to be to occupied on other projects

There are many facets to Sunshine Plumbing & Heating, which are not all on the same team. The salesperson will promise you the world, telling you about how they will fix/install your heater with quick efficiency. The receptionist will tell you they are booked, and call somebody else. The actual Boiler Tech will start the work, then disappear half-way through. This is a broken system. The ONE guy who was their boiler guy, came out to remove my 22-year-old boiler, and install a Tankless boiler seemed like he knew what he was doing at the beginning. After only two days of work, he disappeared from Sunshine’s ranks, supposedly not returning phone calls, emails, text messages. What happened? Who knows? Sunshine apparently doesn’t even know. Later, I found out this Boiler guy has done this disappearing-act before. So, Sunshine sent out a plumber to continue the Boiler work. The plumber stated to me “he doesn’t know how the water gets into the Boiler, and he is a plumber”. Great, just great. The Boiler guy performs a reappearing-act, about a week after he left, and decides to continue the work at my house. Unfortunately for me, we spent the winter with no heat because the wiring for the radiant floor valves was not properly setup/connected to the boiler. There was more work that was needed to actually get the floor valves to turn on. Apparently, the Boiler Tech did not know this, or care to complete the work. In fact, the boiler did not even have a purge valve, so water could not be drained from the system. The radiant floor lines were never purged of air or old water. I called Sunshine Plumbing about this problem, and was told they currently have not Boiler techs, and was told to call somebody else. Unreal. So, the floors throughout my house were cold over the winter because Sunshine Plumbing and Heating does not know how to properly install a Tankless Boiler. I had to call another company to come fix the disaster that Sunshine Plumbing had left behind. My recommendation, if you have Boiler work, DO NOT use Sunshine Plumbing and Heating. They are terrible at returning phone calls, performing Boiler work, and just being honest about what needs to be done and is being done.

Excellent honest service!! I can not say how excellent the service I received. Ramon Alderrtte performed a video rocording for my sewer and was prompt and provided the utmost customer service!!!! Also Shane came out to my property to provide a quote on a new water meter install and also provided excellent customer service!! I highly recommend Sunshine Plumbing because they are honest, affordable and most of all provide superior customer service!!!!

My most recent experience with Sunshine Plumbing was last week to have our ducts cleaned and fogged. With allergy season upon us and spending most of our time in the house because of lockdown orders it was important to ensure the air we were breathing was as clean as possible.

As part of this service they also verified the Global Plasma Solution units were properly functioning. These units are incredible as they neutralize odors, kill mold, bacteria and virus, and help control allergens. These units run when the fan for the HVAC unit is on. It the past the entire family has suffered from allergies to Mulberry and Juniper. Even with these pollen counts off the charts right now we are not feeling the effects while in our home. The draw back is the fan does need to be on so the electric bill will be higher this month. I will gladly pay that bill for the relief this brings.

The technicians Alan and Jeremiah were prompt, courteous, and ensured the job was completed to my satisfaction.

The AC was intermittently switching off without reaching the desired temperature. It was in the middle of August and very hot. I called Sunshine, thinking that it would be a week or two before we got any attention. I called at 8 am by 9:30 am the same day it was fixed. Thank You Sunshine.

This company is fraud! We bought a house that needed the sewer line spot repair, and the previous owners paid for it and chose this company. Less than a year later, the sewer backed up, so we called them. They never did the work. We checked with the city, and there was never a permit pulled. They did come out and actually complete the work, probably so they didn't get sued. The previous owner paid like 3,000. Also, they told us they would reimburse us for having to call roto rooter, and when my husband sent the manager the receipt, he got no response. Do not use this company!

this business is a scam they charged us $170 just to come out here and didn't tell us that that was just for them to come out there they told us that that was all of it together they lied they lied and took our money is there a bunch of crooks and even when they do do a job they do it very poorly and don't fix the problem they will rip you off take $170 from you and not do anything pathetic excuse for a company

Had to use the 24 hour emergency service. Tech came right away (Dallas) and he was very professional and friendly. However, 3 stars due to not being able to press 2 for emergency service for the past 2 days. Had to call contractors to get phone numbers. Since they have to return to do some warranty work I will update my review when HVAC issues are resolved.

Main water line outside house had a hole leaking water; had to shut off water to house. I received a quote the day I called before then knowing specifically what was wrong. They were able to get to it two days later. Took ~3 hours total to do the job. $2400.

Sunshine is owned and operated by a very legitimate and honest person and their service is excellent. I've dealt with them professionally as well as personally and have never been disappointed. I would recommend their services highly.

I have used Sunshine Plumbing for about 8 years. They have installed new hot water heater, new furnace, new air conditioning (got rid of swamp cooler) and have always been professional. The products they sell are top quality at very fair prices and in the one instance of needing minor warranty maintenance they were very responsive. Highly recommend this company.

This used to be my favorite company for my
Business, but now I’m starting to wonder if they are deliberately dodging my service calls. I’ve needed a drain tech the last over the Last couple weeks, and they always seem to have an excuse why they can’t make it.

Wow, what great service. The service gentlemen Josh, was on time, very professional, took an impossable repair and got the job done for me. I've been so disappointed in the past with home repairs and Josh was so patient and worked until the job met all expectations. When I was in business I would wish for this exact employee. My plumbing is working and I can't wait to get that shower going. This company is very very fair on prices and for those that worry about the safe distancing, he wore a mask the entire time and cleaned up everything perfectly before leaving. They called and said that they had a cancellation and were able to come earlier if I was okay with it. The service man and assistant fixed my swamp cooler. Found the float needed replacing, which I expected it was the problem when I called. No further issues since the visit.

My first experience with Sunshine Plumbing and Heating occurred when our household hot water tank needed to be replaced.

Bobby, a senior service tech, pointed out the problem cause and explained why a straight trade out, tank for tank, would not work. Not a sales pitch, what was in our best interest.

Damian, the plumber, arrived on time to perform the various tasks. Before starting, he took the time to review all the notes Bobby had entered, confirmed the estimated work time, and the project cost.

Damian's work was efficient, neat, and surprisingly quite.

Based on my experience with Bobby and Damian, I recommend Sunshine Plumbing and Heating without reservation.

We have used Sunshine in the past for remolding updates and an AC conversion, their quotes are always very competitive. It's their work that stands above all the others. Josh was the most knowledgable supervisor that has ever given us an estimate. He informed us of everything that needed to be done and exactly what to expect. They always arrive on time and they called before their arival to confirm their visit, Highly Professional!!!
More recently they sent Damien over to install a Whole House Water Filtration System from scratch, complete with bi-pass valves. Damien had previously done an excellent job converting our cooktop from electric to gas so I was familiar with his work, but this time he outdid himself and the filtration system turned out great. Neat and clean work necessary to create a complex system that blends seamlessly in the corner of the garage, I'm very pleased.
We wouldn't use any other company for my plumbing and heating needs, period!

The most recent technicians who came to my house installed larger ducts in two rooms and now I am getting heat in those rooms. For several years now, those rooms have been cold. Until Bobby and Evans replaced the existing ducts those rooms were cold. Bobby and Evan were efficient and I want to thank them for the work they did. For years now, I have been cold and until now, no one had suggested to me that the ducts to those rooms were too small. Josh the service manager and Joseph the owner approved Sunshine Plumbing installing larger ducts. Thank you everyone involved.

Sadly they came out a few times and had us wait back and forth for 10 days to replace a water heater... just to then have them say they didn't want to do the job because it was too much work. Terrible!

I've had Sunshine do several services, but the big one was a recent install of a ductless mini-split system for AC and heat. Ron did an amazing job assessing our home and recommending what to do, was professional, answered all my questions, and put my mind at ease. When it came time for the work Henry and Rodrigo were on time every day (it was a 3 day job), worked super hard in the heat, were nice, courteous with our things, and professional. Ron continued to come by and make sure everything was going smoothly and answer any questions we had. All in all, everything went super well, our new ductless system works great and it's been such a relief to have air in our home again. I would recommend Sunshine for this and any HVAC, plumbing work you need. I'll continue to reach out to them for period maintenance of our system.

My experience has been stellar. My A/C went out during a hot weekend and it’s been miserable. I called a few places and Sunshine was booked for a couple days. But, they called me and managed to get a technician here later that same day. Kearston was professional, prompt, educated me on preventative maintenance. Great company!

Me and my husband recently purchased a home. After inspection we found that the entire air conditioning / heat pump system needed to be replaced.
After calling around and getting several estimates we chose Sunshine Plumbing and Heating. They were able to replace the unit and entire duct work system in less than a week at a reasonable price. The unit also has a long warranty. The crew that did the work was courteous and very professional. I would highly recommend them to others.

I had an appointment to switch from furnace to swamp cooler. I was told I needed a new pan because the one I have leaks. Tech was to come back a few days later to complete the job. He was running late (Sunshine called to tell me); later I got a call he wasn't coming at all. I guess he was the only one who could do this work that I had already paid for. Next appointment they tried to set was a day I could not stay home from work. Because the last appointment never happened, I figured they really couldn't give me an accurate time of their arrival. Tried to set another appointment but was given first available. I thought that because I was already a customer waiting for 10 days to get the cooler running that I might be given some kind of preferential treatment. I refused the first available and did not set another appointment. I've been using this company for more than 5 years but I'm looking for another company that I hope is more reliable.

Friendly and on time. Fixed problem in 30 minutes. Charged me $186.00! Seems a little high to me.

I have used them for 20years. Very professional tidy installation. Their price beat two other companies they were on time as promised. They have serviced my boiler for heating. Converted swamp coolers to refrigeration and. Changed out. Heaters and every faucet was changed out. They are a family business for 40+years

He was professional, kind and patient in his explanation of the situation and what needed to be done to resolve the issue. Sunshine, like most plumbers, has a show up charge ($89) to come over and do an estimate. When they came to my house, the Tech immediately informed he they do not do plumbing work related to sprinkler systems. He did his job and charged me $89 for the one-minute evaluation. Later, I made a telephone appeal to Sunshine to ask if they would consider abating the charge since the Techs weren't there more than two minutes and didn't do any work. Sunshine graciously abated the charge in full. Thank you very much, Sunshine. I'll be calling you guys again when there's a plumbing need.

The receptionist was very friendly and helpful, not to mention prompt in giving information. The inspection went well, and the work to replace my AC unit was done the very next day. I'm happy with the service and the price.

My 85 year old mother-in-law who is a widow has a roof top unit (RTU) with refrigerated cooling and gas heating. It was blowing cold air this winter and I was out of town and she needed to get it repaired. She contacted Sunshine and they came out and got the unit heating again for $240. They recommended that she replace the unit and gave her two quotes with the lowest being $11,300. About 5 days later the heating quit working again and Sunshine was contacted to come back under warranty. They said the tech had cleaned the flame sensor and there was nothing more they could do since they said the unit needed entire RTRU needed replacing. If they did come back out there would be another charge ($240). After getting back in town I did some research and saw that a new flame sensor is $20 and an easy DIY replacement. The tech should have replaced and not just “clean” the flame sensor. We got a second quote from Thompson HVAC for 35% less to replace the RTU! I would not recommend Sunshine for service or new work.

I was very pleased with Preston who replaced my broken water heater. He came early worked efficiently and cleaned up after himself. I will recommend Sunshine Plumbing to others.

After waiting over 2 weeks for an appointment, I received a confirmation on Friday for my monday appointment. The service tech was to call me, for service between 12-4, I waited the ENTIRE day, with nobody calling me. After I inquired, I got the Im so sorry our tech went out there. No phone no nothing. I will NEVER use this company, and NOBODY else should either. I will NEVER recommend this business. Customer service must not have been passed down to the generation who took over this business. Thanks for wasting my day, and thanks for NOTHING.

He did a great job fixing my broken pipe under my house, I don't understand why I had to pay $75.00 dollars for laundry. Isn't it his job to go under homes to fix broken pipes?But I am pleased with his job.

Called them for a water heater estimate, scheduled for 8 am thursday. No one showed up or called me. At 9:15 I called them , the woman said he had truck issues and can come now !!?! No communication and wasted my time

Lupe, Josh and the Service Manager were awesome. We had a clogged sewer pipe. At first we called TLC. They came with a very thin snake ofcourse did nothing charged $200. TTLC charges trip charges 2 hiur min and charge by the hour. They wanted to charge me $500 to bring a camera. Then another $300 to power blast it. I said why don't you carry all of your equipment on one truck. I stopped him said no and called Sunshine Plumbing. They were so nice,. Best thing we did.Way under $500. They used a large coiled steel snake unclogged the pipes and brought in a camera, recirded the whole thing. Said we arent sure why they would want to use a camera. The camera cant see through cloudy water. You have to get it unplugged first. So moral of the story call Sunshine plumbing first. Pkus they are locally owned and are a great New Mexico family with morals. Thank you so much. Great experience.

Insanely overpriced for the service that was provided. There was one employee that worked for less than two hours. He dug up some ground and capped a sewer line. I was charged $800 for this. Based on the cost I assumed more would be involved... As a former contractor myself, I can't see anyway the job should have cost this much. I assume the work was done well (can't check because it's underground), but due to the overly inflated cost I cannot recommend this company.

It was terrible. I was looking for an installation and haul- away of a toilet. We had picked up toilet and was quoted a price of $127.95 minus 10% senior discount. Service guy was prompt but we had wrong connection part. I ran to Lowes and got proper connector so work was completed within 75 minutes of his arrival. When he presented bill it was now $301!!!. I would have paid a pro-rata for additional half hour (127.95 x 50% = 63.98) for a total of $191.92 -10% or $172. Instead he reduced it to $243 which we feel is a ripoff for simple toilet hookup. We had been quoted 125-135 by other plumber.

Stay away from these people

Got me twice. First time, they came in to fix water flooding in one bathroom and ended up replacing the main line out of the house, digging up my entire front yard, not realizing this bathroom had its own drainage on the side of the house. Needless to say, it was close to 5-6 months of intermittent flooding from the bathroom before they finally got the problem fixed! This ordeal cost me a fortune. Most of my belongings in that area were completely water damaged. Another time, they came in to install a swamp cooler. It took them 10 hrs??! to get it done and I had to call the main office several times asking they send someone else from the company to figure out what the problem was. The water bill came back at $500 that month for that *one* day of repair when they kept the water running. Of course, they refused to pay it. I tried to email their CEO and office manager and the emails bounced back...of course. Beware.

Very Professional, completed the work on time and on budget. Very happy with the new systems installed.
