My first experience with these guys was a couple years ago. They located a leak in my front yard and helped me figure out how to repair it. This year, I had a major leak under the slab. When I contacted them, they quoted me for a re pipe. From polybutylene to PEX. Decent price. I went with them, but the financing was complicated. Then they started the job the week of Thanksgiving. But the crew rushed it so they could leave early. They substituted different materials than I was quoted, and the place was left a mess! I had to call them several times to have it done right. Then they couldn't get the City out for inspections for almost 2 weeks! I was unable to reside in my home until the water was done! It was not a pleasant experience. I discovered that half the crew were actually only certified for sprinkler installs, knew very little about household plumbing , and were not accustomed to being clean about their work. I was disappointed! One week later, my pipes froze! They hadn't been properly insulated! I was told to leave a faucet running at night, but I shouldn't have to with new pipes in 26° weather! I made them come out and re insulate the pipes!

It's been a few months and have had to have the guys back a couple times. Im a single homeowner struggling during this pandemic and cant afford to waste money on water. Ed was awesome in locating the issue the second time around. It was a simple valve issue in the faucet. The 3rd time, I discovered my rear sprinklers weren't receiving water at all due to a water valve being buried along the side of the house. Without digging it up, I wouldn't have been able to get water to the back yard at all! Really? Bury an access line? Tonight, I got my water statement and have yet another hidden leak to the tune of 11 thousand gallons this month. No audible indication, no dampness visible, so I've reached out yet again. I'm hoping they can make it right this time.

They pinpointed the leak.

From beginning to end these guys were unbelievably great and I sincerely mean that. After a couple of very high water bills we knew something was wrong. Our neighbor recently had a similar problem and used American Leak. I called for an appointment and within a few days Kenneth arrived and using a few different techniques found the leak under the foundation. By the way, the office called a day before our time and asked if I would like Kenneth to come by now, a day earlier than scheduled. After finding the problem, I was presented a couple of options, costs, and timing. Chris and Bryan came a few days later and went to work. First covering everything in the room, walls and floors, They carefully removed an area of the existing floor and then proceeded to break up the slab and remove a lot of dirt to get down to the leak. They we careful not to damage any of the other plumbing and radiant lines. After a solid 8 hours they were done, but not before thoroughly checking their work and cleaning up everything. Again, these guys are GREAT and it was a real pleasure to experience this kind of professionalism.

Jonathan was so great, efficient, knowledgeable and informative. I discovered through my water bill and checking my water meter that I have what I thought was a pretty serious leak somewhere. I called ALD and spoke with the answering service as it was after 5. Jonathan called me back within minutes and said he could come by after taking care of an emergency in Santa Fe. I was amazed he could come out on a Friday night on short notice and in the dark. He arrived a couple of hours later, found the leak in less than an hour and gave me a quote on cost to repair the leak. I'm so relieved to know where the leak is (not under the slab) and that it can be fixed quickly. I'm so impressed!

Leaks not found and very high fee charged, just to check for leaks. My leaks still exist, now I hear on radio ads they don't charge any fee to come out and check for leaks!! Not a positive experience! Won't recommend this service.

ALD did a complete re-piping of my house, which was a huge job. Not only was the plumbing work excellent, but the plumbers were cognizant of aesthetics, making suggestions for work-arounds that suited the style of my house. They cleaned up beautifully after each workday.

The subcontractors ALD sent to repair the holes in the walls, Dave and Deslyn Kundert of Kundert Construction, were delightful as well as efficient. I was very happy with the work they did.

All-in-all, a superb job. I would use ALD again in a heartbeat.

Our experience with American Leak Detection was great beyond our expectations. We had a hidden leak somewhere in our home and called American Leak Detection. They were out to locate and repair what turned out to be a complicated leak on damaged pipe. Everyone who participated in the repair was extremely courteous, professional, skilled, and neat in all they did. Kuddos to Ed, Ethan, Brian, Ryan, Levi, Johnathan, and Dave. All had great attitudes as the hours extended. We were treated very fairly in the whole effort and we unhesitatingly recommend American Leak Detection for leak location and repair.

We contacted them on line and they actually came the same day to help us find a water leak. Kenneth came and found the leak and other problem that needed to be repaired. . The plumbers came to repair and fix our problem the next day. They were timely, courteous and professional. Christian and 3 others worked nonstop throughout the day. They were lovely caring people and solved our problem magnificently. I would recommend them highly to anyone having any kind of plumbing problem.

The report and the detection of the leaks were good but I had a terrible customer service experience with lack of communication. Also I had been running my A/C proir to the inspection but somehow the next day after the inspection my roof was flooded after turning on the A/C. The inspector completely denied that it could have been his fault in any way.

These guys were fantastic. I had a major leak from the ground into my living room. It turned into a much bigger nightmare than they anticipated but they persisted and after much digging it was determined that my entire drain pipe was cracked! They communicated well and persisted until it was repaired. It scares me to think what could’ve happened with a different company. Brian and Christian were here every day and now we consider them friends.

ALD of NM did a fantastic job for our family. It was a weekend emergency and Dave found the leak very quickly. Ed was our technician for the leak survey and was worth every cent. We are a six acre property with a 40 year old main line. Ed was extremely conscientious in his work and took his time to verify his findings, and was available for my questions and concerns after the leaks were located and repaired. While this service is initially costly it is highly valuable and will pay itself back in the reduction of the water loss for our property. Ed also recommended the installation of isolation valves, which we did. This assisted us in verifying that we had discovered and repaired all leaks on the main line. We are certainly grateful for his expertise and will call on ALD again should the need arise.

If you can’t make your window for service that’s poor management. If I hadn’t called 30 minutes after the 3 hour window I doubt I would have heard from them. My money went elsewhere.

Just Received the good old Bait and Switch! BBB means nothing! There are no real consequences to these practices. They quoted me a services with and without using insurance. I double checked what he was saying, wrote it down and he told service guy to charge me different. Nice! single mother rt after xmass, pipe burst. DON'T TRUST JONATHAN ! They get one star because service guy was professional.

I had a complex leak situation which required multiple detection visits and repairs. But Ryan T, Ron, Alex, Jonathan and Ryan persisted and got the job done. They were always courteous and professional, and left the yard in good condition when the work was done. Many thanks guys!!!

I called American Leak Detection after years of paying for a leak that no one else was able to locate. My bills were ridiculously high after the city installed a new meter and I thought the meter was defective but the city said it wasn't. Finally, I called this company about 3 months ago and with the equipment they had, they found it! I waited to write a review because I wanted to make sure that solved the issue by the water bill. Now, my water bill is normal and my bill is only $90 compared to the $250-400 every month I paid for 10 yrs! We are thrilled and wished we had called them instead of plumbers & other leak companies a long time ago. Thank you so much American Leak Detecton!!

They told us our leak was in a closet in our house, when in fact it was in our backyard. If they had done their job thoroughly they would have easily known this. We tore apart our house to fix this 'leak,' and they were unapologetic about the whole issue and unwilling to compensate us in any way.

Martin came to detect a leak in my yard. He was very courteous and respectful. He was on time. He answered my questions when I observed him doing the exam. Martin explained the next steps involved in repairs. He eased some of my anxiety by his calm approach. The next step will be repair

The worst ever. They replaced all all pipes thru the ceiling and walls but did not get a connection tight and our house flooded. The owner was very unconcerned and had some company come in and dry the carpet and replace the padding. In the meantime all the pergo floors warped and the carpet dry rotted. We had to remove all the flooring and it was molded and mildewed. Large holes in the concrete where they replaced pipes were under the carpeting. This has cost us over $10,000.00 to repair and replace. I would not recommend this company to anyone.

This company is extremely unprofessional and rude. The crew turned their pipe heater on high heat over our indoor rug and left the house. Luckily the smoke and smell from the burning rug were horrendous and I found the problem before the house caught on fire. The crew fixed the plumbing leak, but left behind a huge muddy mess in the house. After several weeks with no contact with the company, my wife called to inquire. After multiple failed attempts to make contact, my wife finally got a hold of the manager, who got in a yelling match with her about replacing the $100 rug. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY!

Ed came out this morning and was terrific. We were told by a plumbing company that we had an underground leak. Ed checked everything and found out that we do NOT! I was absolutely dazzled by the courtesy, professionalism and excellent service by American Leak Detection crew Dave, the foreman, Wes, Christian, Brian and Devon. They accomplished a formidable task of re-piping my leaking slab hot and cold water pipes after applying protective floor and carpet sheeting, routing new PEX-A piping from the main water source through the attic and down the walls leading to three bathrooms, kitchen, and laundry room. Dave and Christian were helpful in answering my numerous questions and thoroughly explaining the complex process of re-ping the entire house. Also commendable was Dan and Stephanie at the service desk for their friendliness and keeping me abreast as to the enormous task. The crew completely cleaned up after their work and returning my landscaping to its original condition following ditches that were dug to accommodate the pipe from the city water source to the house. American Leak Detection stands out as one of the best contractors I have had the pleasure of dealing with in Albuquerque. I highly recommend this excellent company.

Analysis of leak and its location detection

I highly recommend American Leak Detection. Stephanie came out to locate the slab leak. She was professional when locating the leak and in her explanation of the issues and options available. She provided an estimate to repair the leak for our insurance company and an additional estimate to re-pipe the entire house. Dave, the project manager, and Levi, Brian, and Ryan problem-solved solutions to many interesting situations and completed re-piping the house in 4 days. (Yes, we have a small home!) Through the entire process, communication with the company's knowledgeable office staff (Dee Dee, Chris, and Maryann) was calm, professional, and helpful and communication with Dave and his crew was thorough, respectful, and answered my many questions. With a job of this magnitude and a cost of several thousand dollars, having trust in a company, its staff, and most of all in its workers is paramount. I have this trust with American Leak Detection.

So grateful for this team. First they came right away to detect the leak underground. Then they were able to squeeze us in the next day. It took several days of digging but it's repaired. The clean-up was perfect -- looks like the leak never happened. It was a tough job and they rocked it!!!

American Leak Detection saved me thousands of dollars! The cost to repipe my house for gas was going to be very expensive. I contacted
American Leak Detection who found my gas leak because that is what they do! I am indebted to them for their professionalism and honesty. I have had a high water bill in the last 2 months that was way out of the norm. I called American Leak thinking that I might have a big leak in new lines that I put in. We had a suspected slab leak and American Leak Detection was able to verify and locate it within inches without digging. 2 days later the repair crew were out and did a thorough and professional job, digging 2 feet down, repairing the pipe and pressure testing to make sure the fix was correct. Awesome Company - After having three consecutive months of high water bills, a water audit and a plumber to fix a leak the water meter was still spinning out of control.

If I could give this place zero stars I would . Do not use this company or allow your insurance company to use this company. I'm a guide here in Albuquerque and I've never delt with such an unprofessional company. These guys came to my house and destroyed just demo'd and then tried to charge thousands of dollars and recommended me to destroy walls to fix the problem a fair plummer came and fixed their mess for a tenth of their estimate. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY AT ALL COST!!!!!!!!!

They marked the wrong spot and I had a plumber drill into the concrete to find no water line. Now they want to charge another $150 to come out again. Horrible

Jonathan found the leak within minutes and gave me a discounted fee. Will call them again.

I own Tres Pinos Home Inspection, LLC. In my inspections I turn off all the water in the home and check the meter to see if it is turning. If it is, that means there is a leak somewhere. I check my own meter every month, too, because I have had two leaks in my main line over the years, and by the time it gets to the surface you have lost lots of $$$ in water. This month, sure enough, all the water in the house was turned off and the meter was turning; no water visible anywhere in or outside the house.

Ed from American Leak Detection of New Mexico came out the next day and pinpointed the leak in about 30 minutes. Unfortunately, it was not out in the yard in the main line, it was under the slab below the kitchen sink. He recommended a method of repair that did not involve breaking through the floor and the slab, and since we have a custom travertine tile floor (see pics), that was wonderful.

The next day Ryan and Nick from American Leak Detection came out to do the repair. They were excellent! They covered the floor all the way from the front door to the kitchen to protect it and keep it clean, were extremely diligent in keeping the mess to a minimum, and when they were finished, cleaned up like they had never been there. The repair is good. It was a beautiful site to see the water meter no longer turning.

American Leak Detection did the entire job quickly and for a VERY reasonable price. I am extremely satisfied. Ed, Ryan, and Nick were all very professional, friendly, and knowledgeable.

I couldn’t be more satisfied with not only the professionalism of the in office staff but when Stephanie came out to actually perform the leak test she calmed me immediately and assured me that everything would be okay and she would be able to find the culprit of the flood in my home. And to my amazement she did and gave me 3 different options to repair the damage. She was awesome I couldn’t have been more grateful at the time and in the end thankful I made the decision to call ALD before I might have made a huge costly mistake. Although we didn't mutually agreed as you didn't give me any solution to move the shut off valve to a place that is not my living room, I hope that you can offer me the possibility of moving the valve to the garage so that I can pay the remaining balance. We both know that it can be done. If you agree with that, please send me an email w your proposal. Consider not to call me right before you are coming without knowing what you will be working in my house. It is too bad that you don't give the job description in writing, and I am glad that thanks to my insistent request w Stephanie, she finally printed a document that I can go by when all the work was done!!!

This is the mess American Leak Detection left in my living room, a piece of plastic that I can hardly place in the hole the plumbers left in one of the walls in the living room because, according to Cristian Garcia, there were only other choice, which was lo leave it outside the house, on the other side of the same wall. Please see photos below. I wonder how they would have covered it. With the same trashy piece of plastic? I also wonder why I could not have this shut off valve under one of the bathrooms' vanity, as I had it before and as my neighbors have after repiping their houses. Some have it in the garage, but no one in the middle of the living room. This is a work that costs a total of 16,181.25. Until now, I have paid the amount of 12,090.62. The boss, Jonathan, passed me a verbal message though Stephanie Chavez, who works in the office, that if she doesn't pay today, I will charge her a 50% more. This was last June 24, 2021, and today is June 28, 2021. Jonathan must now read in this review that I will not pay the remaining 4,090.63 until they move this valve to the garage, which is by the living room, and finish this work in an acceptable and minimally professional manner.

Using American leak detection was the worse decision we have made as home owners., They used sharkbite fittings which we found out most all plumbers will not use., we had to have another company come in and fix their work., they still have not fixed our drywall which they billed us for., long story short no pride in their workmanship and customer service was unsatisfactory at best., Their “techs” had no answers to our simple questions about the repairs., after all said and done we had to pay almost double what they quoted us at first when they came out for estimate.,

The man that came out told us where he though the leak was so we removed tile and broke slab and dug for multiple hourse only to find out he was off by almost 14ft resulting in us having to cut and remove more slab and tile

We had a break in our main line from the well. It was from a tree root, and it was 4 feet underground. With their detection equipment, (and a very knowledgable operator) ALD found the leak, and helped repair the broken pipe. Quick response, excellent service!

Robert Tafoya was quick to respond, very professional, identified the leak by inspection and verified no additional leaks via a pressure test. He was quick to get the reports to my insurance company so we can proceed with getting back to a normal life (fixing water damage).

Professional and polite

Heard a leak in the wall on a Saturday morning. Ed from American Leak Detection came out on early Saturday afternoon. He graciously tried to make the most inexpensive repair possible. When that didn't work, he took the time to get into the wall and fix the problem immediately rather than scheduling a call during the regular work week. The price was very reasonable and in line with all my other plumbing services. I would call them again in a minute and ask for Ed.

Ed and Robert T were professional and personable. They found and repaired the leak and explained the problem to me.

ALD is a superb company. I have used them three times to find and repair leaks in my home. Two of the leaks were in the radiant heating system, and the last one in the domestic hot water system. All three required that the slab be broken, the leak discovered, the repair made and the hole in the slab re-cemented. This is loud and messy work. ALD handled every aspect perfectly. Our last leak was this week, and ALD gave us the kind of service and quality professionalism that I have come to expect from them. Ed, Wes, Bobby and Tyler worked on the latest leak, and I dealt with Dan in the office by phone, and they were all excellent is every way. They were on schedule, on time, neat and caring about potential mess in the house, completely professional in their work, communicative with me, and superb in terms of how they handled our problem. I enthusiastically recommend American Leak Detection to anyone who has a similar issue as ours. They are the very best! Thanks to everyone at ALD. American Leak Detection have the most fantastic and professional staff to work with. We had a slab leak occur, and Jonathon came out on a Sunday to identify the location of the leak. Soon after, Ryan and Alex arrived to complete the repairs. They worked hard the whole day until the leak was repaired and were very courteous and professional throughout the process. Highly recommended!

I called American Leak Detection about a bad water leak and it
was very quick to send Nick to find our leak. He spent 6 hours looking
for the leak from our meter to the house a distance of 1/2 mile and was not successful. He and another man came back 2 days later and found
the leak in our den.They put us on the priority list and Tyler and Wes came
back in 2 days. They arrived at 9:30 and dug a hole 3 1/2 feet deep through rock and then 2 feet north. they found the leak at about 6 pm.
Nick showed back up and they finally got the leak fixed and left our house
at 10 pm. Several men showed up the next morning and checked to make
sure the lead was fixed and then put all the dirt and rock back in the hole and left our den clean. The cost for fixing the leak was very reasonable.
These were wonderful men and I would give them 7 stars.

Kenneth of American Leak Detection was professional, efficient, and polite in his June 16, 2021 visit. i had a coupon for free leak detection. He checked the water meter and saw it moving slightly although no water was being used. He checked possible sources. He quickly solved the problem when he fixed the float/water level in a toilet. i did not have to turn off the water to the house while he was here.

Thank you to Christian and Asiimwe for the excellent work they did to uncover, repair, and refill a slab leak. Their positive attitude, professionalism and scheduling flexibility was very much appreciated. Thanks also to Jonathan for locating our leak spot-on.

I'm very satisfied with our experience with this company. We were alerted by Los Lunas' water department of a probable leak on a Thursday late afternoon, called American Leak Detection (they were recommended by Jose, our kitchen remodeler) and got an appointment set up for the next afternoon. The leak was found to be in our front yard, partially under the driveway. We were given a reasonable estimate and decided to have them do the fix, tentatively on Tuesday but Monday if possible. Monday morning, they call to say they were on their way! The guys had it dug up, took pics for insurance, pipe fixed and water restored before noon. Stuck to their estimate, too. Good to have water again!

I need to revise this review! The repair made by American Leak Detection lasted all of 6 months! Had to have it repaired again and called TLC because they could get to it sooner, warranty for the work had expired anyway. TLC fixed the leak using a different method.
