I was pleased that corporate called the day before to confirm appt plus the morning of my appt to say that tech was on the way. Joe was extremely knowledgeable and professional. I was a bit taken aback by the fee structure but Joe explained it in detail and I am happy with the work that was completed and believe it was worth the cost.

Very professional and friendly, on time and did a great job. He fixed everything that needed it (it's 60 year old plumbing, so not an easy job) and stopped when he got to the area that was still solid. Very happy to find an honest and professional plumber.

Detected a problem with a burst copper pipe on my outdoor irrigation system and placed a call to Benjamin Franklin for repair options. My customer service rep was pleasant and helpful. Offered me an appointment two days out which was very quick considering this was a non-emergency. The day of the visit I was sent a text to inform of my technician's arrival as well. Zach arrived promptly and proceeded to analyze the issue and provide two repair options with related charges. Once I accepted he immediately fixed the damaged pipe and showed me how it was repaired. Zach was very professional, pleasant and helpful. Wore plastic booties when inside my home to keep things neat and clean. Very impressed with Benjamin Franklin's service process and will definitely use them again in the near future

3 stars for service and speed getting to my place as they were able to squeeze me in same day I called. Trevor was nice enough. -2 stars because prices are WAY too expensive. Charged $433 for a tub drain sweep that took 5 minutes. Don’t like how these plumbing and HVAC companies tell you what price services are until they are there, and charge you a service fee of $99 regardless. they didn’t even evaluate the issue and just assumed what it was then gave me a price basically as soon as he stepped in the bathroom. So Could have easily told me what cost was over phone before making a trip. Shows poor business practice and doesn’t instill trust in relationship between client and customer. Will go to a handyman or independent contractor next time.

Arrived earlier than expected to fix a same day call gas leak. Did an excellent job and will definitely call again if we need anything!

Every part of our experience with Benjamin Franklin was top notch. It was easy to schedule an appointment and we didn’t have to wait long. The technician was on time and courteous and professional. And therein lies the problem. They did absolutely NOTHING. I detected moisture on wood beams holding house up. Called Benjamin Franklin. guy came out and looked at about 2 locations of pipes. said turquoise build up on pipes directly where moisture detected was normal (was on plastic and copper). we pulled out refrigerator which sits above those beams. was some water under brig (I should have remembered we briefly turned on valve to ice maker). he stated refrigerator leaking and to call appliance repair. didn't specify who. just that Benjamin Franklin doesn't do. I expected $89.00 trip charge. I DID NOT expect $112.00 pipe inspection fee. asked why 89.00 not applied to inspection. was told that was not an actual task performed. (gee I paid for the work ??!?). trip charge legit. plumbing inspection was NOT done,Had appliance repair out this morning. Refrigerator NOT leaking. water under refrigerator because Benjamin Franklin briefly turned ice maker value. Issue was ice maker connected to refrigerator. Benjamin Franklin guy should have been a used car salesman (sorry car sales people, common phrase). He didn't look as though he'd ever done any plumbing work. I should not have been charged for work not done. this guy's job was to make money.

I had Discount Plumbers in my house 3 times in January and they never fully unclogged my drain with a snake. Mike was extremely professional, and used a water jet to obliterate the calcium deposit that was the culprit. He actually solved the underlying problem, what a concept! I have a new plumber and will use these guys for everything in the future!

We are on their service plan and had our first inspection. He found many items that were not working and he reset/corrected them all included in the annual price.

I asked for installation of a utility sink to replace the old one in my basement. I had purchased the new sink and faucet for $150 at Menards so the tech had only to swap out the sinks. He did that well and removed the old sink. I should have asked for an estimate before he began but being old-school I just expected a fair price. I was charged $695.95. I give Franklin two stars for taking advantage of me but I give myself only one for for being stupid enough to let them. I hope you let my experience protect you.On June 10, I got a call from Gary a plumbing manager who seemed incredulous that Jarrod had not discussed the price before doing the work. I assured him he had not. The discounted price of $695.95 plus membership cost for the Ben Franklin Society of about $10/month for one year for Peace of Mind for You & Your Home is outrageous for the service of easy sink assembly and hook-up of the included hoses to the already-present water shut off valves. There should be financial disciplining from the company and perhaps legal repercussions to anyone involved in this ruse. I await Gary's followup.June 13, 2022: Gary and I spoke today. Benjamin Franklin has issued a substantial refund. I thank Gary for his cordial response and for making this happen.

Had a clog and tech was able to come out quickly. Very informative and straightforward with costs. They were very helpful about how to remedy stuff so the issue doesn’t happen again!

We are remodeling our bathroom and quickly we were over our heads with the plumbing changes needed. Zach came out late night and got everything fixed up and squared away so we could get our water supply line back on by morning. I had a leak in the basement somewhere behind the wall. I called Benjamin Franklin plumbing and they sent out Brad promptly (other companies wanted to book me 3 weeks out for service). He worked quickly and efficiently, and located the leak to a cracked PVC drain pipe behind the wall. He cut out the damaged piece and spliced in a new pipe segment. He referred me to a water damage mitigation company, who were also prompt and professional.I really appreciated Brad's professionalism, and quick work, and the referral. He was extremely helpful and the cost of the work was very reasonable (a lot less than I feared it would be). I highly recommend Benjamin Franklin for your plumbing needs, and especially Brad.

Joe was early for our appointment and was kind in waiting while I set our dog up and finished a phone call. Joe was also patient as I called my spouse to relay all information on pricing prior to starting the job. I appreciated that Ben Franklin sent an email with the pro’s photo so that I knew who to expect.The service was quick and solved the problem. Joe walked through the issue, preventative options, and was not pushy in upselling services or products. He gave me information to contact should we want any of them in the future.

All I can say is WOW, Joe did an amazing job on assisting us with re-piping and repairing an outside faucet. He was extremely professional, responsive and answered our questions. The piping configuration in our basement beforehand was in my words, 'a hot mess'. It now looks like a masterpiece.

I called Ben Franklin because my water heater stopped working.Brett arrived about 11:45 and found the problem. He gave me several options. My water heater was 18 years old so a new unit was the only logical choice. I also decided to get a water conditioner. (I had not had one for several years.)By now it was after noon and I assumed I would have to wait at least another day. Brett said that everything could be done right then so I would have hot water. It was all done by 5:00!Brett greatly exceeded my expectations! He cleaned the area when he took the old units out, replaced a lot of the copper pipes, and removed pipes no longer needed.The area is beautiful! I could not be happier. In fact, I had my yearly furnace check the following day and the service person noted the new units, remarking that they looked beautiful! Really!I am so grateful to Brett for doing such a great job. I always feel uneasy about calling people out to repair any major appliance because I feels like they are not being honest or transparent. Not the case this time! Brendan was very professional, transparent and insured I understood what he was testing as well as all the possible remedies. The service was good and it was a quick repair. They replaced the screw in lift and turn in my bathtub. I am a bit shocked at what it cost, less then a 1/2 repair for $283.00! Unfortunately I won’t be using their service again.

It’s never great news that you need a new water heater, but Joe with Ben Franklin made it as easy as possible. He answered all our questions and quickly installed a new water heater. I would call them again with any plumbing issues.

A faucet wouldn’t stop gushing, so we had to turn off our home’s water until we could get someone out. Scheduled for 5-ish,but called to see if they could come earlier when the schedule opened. Reid arrived around 1and was out the door with everything replaced, fixed, dry and tidy, within the hour. Great service and good work.

Brent was a great employee. He Explained to me the service in detailed, installed a new sump pump with 3 HP. Satisfied with his customer service skills and professionalism.

Super over priced service. They quoted me $89.00 service fee to address my clogged drain below the toilet. Turns out that is the fee for them just to drive to my house. Anything they need to do to unclog is going to cost extra.$ 290.00 extra to run a snake thru the toilet to clear the drain. This is a one bathroom house, so yeah, I said to go ahead. It took less than 5 minutes to go get the tool from the van and run it thru the drain to the clogged area. Flushed the toilet a couple times to make sure it wad clear. Works great. While he's adding up the charges, he proceeds to tell me that the auger he used costs about $60.00 at home depot, and that I should get one incase it clogs again. So yeah, $380.00 total for about 15 minutes of chatting and discussion to 5 minutes to fix it, extremely overpriced. Price gouging at its best.

Needed my own toilet reinstalled after we got new wood floors put in and I wasn't confident with the reinstall. The company had time available on the day I needed. The technician was friendly and offered me three options. A new toilet over $1,100 a base model for $800 or replace my existing toilet for $479. Which one do you suppose I chose?I can understand parts, labor, and fixing various things wrong with my existing toilet but why does it cost $479 to replace my own toilet?Seems kinda like I got swindled on something Home Depot could've done for half the price. Now I know better.I only rated as such because the tech did a good job. Seems like highway robbery otherwise.

Jeremy and his team did an outstanding job tearing out all of my old steel galvanized water supply pipes and replacing them with copper and plex. They also replaced my old hot water heater. They were on time and finished this very large job in only one day. They were very responsive and did the job in the way I wanted it done. I will be using them again when I start to replace all of my 80 year old sewer lines. I highly recommend using Benjamin Franklin Plumbing.

Nobody loves to hire plumbers because generally there is a rather urgent issue when the need arises to contact one. That being said, my experience with Benjamin Franklin Plumbing was extremely positive despite the reason for contacting them being a bummer.Three days before Christmas our 8 year old water heater was dying and I filled out the web form late Sunday night describing our issues. I received a phone call just after 7am Monday and by noon Emanuel and his assistant were out putting in a new unit after diagnosing the problems with the old one. We might have gotten another 6 months out of it, but it wasn't going to last is any longer than that. And just looking at the new one after install I can tell that's it is done way better than the last one was.I'm not going to say that it was a bargain, because it certainly is a significant expenditure, but I've learned that sometimes the best costs more and that value doesn't equal the cheapest price. In fact, we loved the work on the water heater so much they we had a whole home filtration system installed the day after Christmas.

I had 2 different issues this week. The first was from Trevor and team who helped with my basement flooding. They were great with communication and problem solving. It made a nightmarish situation easier. The other was with Brent and team were able to help fix a leak in my upstairs sink. His communication and clarity was extremely helpful. Getting the news that the sewer needed to be replaced wasn’t welcome. Working with Joe and Cory and their teams was great. Joe gave me the options and the information I needed to make a decision that worked for me. Cory and his team, explained the process as it was being done. There was minimal mess. They are a great group of guys. I am so happy that the sleeve was the process used. My yard wasn’t torn up and it kept the price down. I recommend Ben Franklin Plumbing and this process for replacing a sewer. Guaranteed for 60 years too!

Cleaned everything back up better than when they started and made sure to review with me the work that was done, and make sure any questions I had were answered. The most disrespectful thing was using scare tactics to get my wife to buy a new water heater without checking with a competitor who was 500 dollars cheaper for the same water heater. Then to talk her into buying some yearly inspection. They are more like car sales people then plumbers or fitters. Telling my wife our existing hot water heater was a bomb waiting to go off. Of course at that point she wanted their services. Absolutely unacceptable. You should all be ashamed of yourselves.

Had a sewer backup and drain tech was nice and came out on a Saturday night and fixed the problem. Price was a little high, but whatever. I needed my sewer line cleaned of roots on a weekday after that though. I was told by the emergency drain tech and a scheduler that the price would be $400 for a hyrdo jetting. When the hydro jetting guy got there he was two steps in my door and told me the price would be $600. He was firm on that and said the other people misquoted me. After the work i wrote to the company and they never even bothered to reply, so i guess i'll leave it on here.Whether or not the hydro-jetting guy was telling the truth, showing up to someone's house after they've arranged their schedule and sacrificed calling anyone else to do the job and telling them the price is 50% more than what they were told by two other people, is price gouging and predatory in the eyes of the customer. If i had been told that price at the get-go i would have gotten someone else for a lot cheaper. It doesn't matter if hydro-jetting guy was telling the truth and the others mispoke, it is still price gouging to the customer.Won't recommend them to anyone. They were nice and got my problem fixed, but way to pricey and they never even responded to my inquiry about the problem.

I had Reid out to do a water tankless water heater flush which went well. The part that soured my experience is that he slapped a bunch of One Hour Heating stickers on my furnace without my permission. The furnace was installed and is maintained by Standard Heating. Their large sticker covered up the quick tip troubleshooting guide from Standard. Reid had no business touching my furnace. Now I have to use Goo Gone to remove the stickers and ask Standard for a new sticker

Sewer backed up into my basement. Tried to charge me $3000 for 50ft of descaling or $5000 for 75ft. Found a company in elk river that would descale to the city main (100ft) for $245. Shame there are still companies out there that would try to take such advantage of young homeowners like us.

Woke up to find no hot water and that our tank had finally died. Called and was able to get an appointment within 2 hours of calling. Zach was great, explained everything he was going to do with upfront pricing. Had us back up and running within 2 hours!

The service person, Emanuel, was a very nice person, explained the possible fixes very clearly, then fixed the problem promptly. I couldn't be happier!

The main drain was backing up so I called and was able to get someone to fix it the next day. The plumber was thorough with pricing, $350-400 for first (scaling) option, jet high pressure water cleaning with 6 month warranty was $711 with coupon with the diagnosis fee $99 waived because we went with service, & the last option (same fixing option as 2) was around $900 with a year warranty. There’s also a 19.95 monthly membership for one year with 20% off applied to the same day you received the service. Just fyi, they only offer payments for anything costing above $1000. Don’t forget to mention the coupon if applicable it’ll save you $57! Joe was friendly and explained the process thoroughly!

Great service! I called on a Saturday and got a full explanation of what to expect so there were no surprises. Joe was at another job across town but arrived within an hour and got right to work on our clogged kitchen sink. Very polite, respectful and professional, careful to clean up thoroughly. He explained every step throughout the job, patiently answered our questions, and even offered to check out and explain the cause of a toilet flushing issue when I asked about it. Because of his obvious mastery and knowledge about plumbing, I decided to purchase a membership that includes discounts and extended warranties on purchases, maintenance and repairs of plumbing & HVAC. We have an older house so the cost of this membership will easily pay for itself throughout the year, not to mention the peace of mind it provides. My husband was at work and I hate being alone when workers come but Joe was a complete sweetheart. They were able to come the next day after calling and worked with us on pricing to give us the best deal. He made a major job look like a piece of cake. I caused the problem by over-tightening a PVC pipe connection while re-installing a toilet. The end of the pipe snapped off and the remaining pipe was just inside the drywall hole.Brett and his co-worker surveyed the situation and explained the options. With my permission, he cut a small access hole to replace the PVC with flexible PEX pipe and then attached a more efficient ball valve instead of a gate valve. At my request, they also replaced gate valves for the sink shutoffs with ball valves.Afterwards, they cleaned up the drywall dust so everything looked as neat as it could.My one negative comment is, I was without water for about 20 hours before they could get someone to my house. That's a long time to wait, though I suppose they only have so many plumbers to go around.

We had a new washer and dishwasher delivered the other day and we learned we needed to change out water lines for the dishwasher and replace a shut of valvue for the clothes washer. I called Benjamin Franklin Plumbing that evening and was told they could send someone the following day. The plumbers were running a little late, but the company kept me up to date and gave a discount for not arriving within their quoted time window.Rob and his apprentice Daniel were awesome once they arrived. Friendly, positive, willing to explain exactly what they were going to do, and able to do the repairs needed right then. The prices were definately that of a big company, but I am so so glad I chose to pay them and have these guys take care of the problems instead of trying to find someone else.The washer lines were too short, so they gave me new ones without changing the cost they quoted me. The dishwasher was frustrating. They pulled it in and out of the location it would go at least 7 times and continued to work for multiple hours until it fit and worked perfectly. I would have been frustrated and quit with all the obstacles they overcame and issues they solved installing it, but they were both friendly and positive the entire time and now I have two new appliances that I am positive are working correctly and my plumbing lines are up to code and correct now.I would absolutely work with this company again and recommend them to friends. I hope all of their staff are as attentive to details and positive as Rob and Daniel.

I started using them a few months ago. I’ve neglected my plumbing needs for years. A few months ago they repaired and replaced my kitchen and shower faucets, that had both been leaking and not working properly. I signed up for their maintenance program (getting discounts on repairs and annual inspections). Yesterday they came to inspect all of my plumbing and drained my water heater (who knew that was important?!). They also showed me each area of concern and explained why. Nothing is broken right now, and I’m grateful for that. But I’m also really grateful for the list of things to be mindful of and begin to prioritize and budget for. Grateful they have financing options! Today they came and checked my main water pipe and talked me through the whole process. Again, grateful nothing is crazy problematic but also grateful to know estimated costs of preventative options. Every phone interaction and all three different home visits - they’ve been kind, respectful, and listened to me and answered my questions. I’m really grateful to be using this company and instead of having an undertone of anxiety regarding any and all plumbing issues - I know what’s up, I know who will help when I’m ready or when I need it. Excellent customer service.

We’ve had the same “guy” perform our annual check in and check up for a number of years. This is one of the hidden advantages of working with this company: they know you.We pay a monthly fee, and then the annual check is included in the cost. I’m not sure we would be disciplined or knowledgeable enough to do this without their expertise.In the course of a month, we will have an annual plumbing, check, a sewer inspection, and a furnace check up.We love doing this during the early months of the year when it’s cold outside and things break. It’s not cheap, but neither is their service or their quality of work. We have 100+ year old house and we mean to take good care of it to pass it onto the next owners. I love this service and I love my “guy.“

No details on pricing until they show up besides the trip fee just to arrive at your home, $89 - $159. Then it was another $389 for a category 2 repair, not just parts and labor for repair. It took the repair person a wax ring or two and a couple bolts that were rusted for parts (max $25 in parts) and about 1.25 hours for repair. So I guess that is a labor rate of about $290 per hour which is ridiculous! Then they tried to get me to replace the water heater at a flat rate cost of about $2330 for a 40 gallon gas water heater. I checked Home Depot and you can get the best 40 gallon water they have for about $775 + installation. I could buy two water heaters in the next 20 -30 years for what they want to charge for a 6yr warranty 40 gallon water heater. I would not recommend this company.

I experienced a very professional service technician that explained all of the services that he would be performing.Once the inspection and water heater maintenance were complete, he took some time to explain his findings as well as provide me with several options to consider, should I choose to do so. No pressure and no sales pitch. The experience was great.I will consider the suggestions rendered, as I feel that they are important to stay current as possible in an aging home (Built in the 70's). So minor costs here and there can save major cost suddenly.I actually look forward to have Ben Franklin onsite. Very professional, on time and informative. Probably not the cheapest, but quality is better than quantity (of visits). They maintain all of our heating/cooling and plumbing systems. Great team.

Joe showed up on time and quickly diagnosed our issue. He then made the repair and I asked if he could tighten a set screw on another faucet which he quickly did. I really appreciated that. My wife appreciated that he wore shoe coverings. All in all great job!

They came on time and fixed everything in a timely manner but the service cost way more than I have paid with other companies in recent years. They told us how much it would cost, so I agreed to it, but wish I would have called one of the companies I had used in the past to begin with. Then they sold us three bottles of their drain cleaner. When we got the reciept we realized they were $195. For drain cleaner.

Emanuel replaced the valves on our shower and bathtub. The valves were 80 years old and one was at the end of its life and starting to leak. Emanuel arrived promptly, diagnosed the problem in 15 minutes, picked up the right parts, and fixed the problem. Professional and reliable in his explanation and follow-through. Cost of the job was in line with market. Very pleased with the low-hassle approach.

My main drain in the basement was backing up. Joe fixed it in under an hour. He was very helpful and answered all my questions. He also provided me with an eco-safe drain product. I would encourage Benjamin Franklin to give him a raise.My only concern is the text photo. Joe currently has a mustache. I was texted a photo of a man without a mustache to do the service. Franklin... Would you text a old photo of a woman to clients after she dyed her hair?

We have used Benjamin Franklin Plumbing multiple times, including to add a liner within our sewer line. Our existing clay pipes were deteriorating, particularly because of tree roots. Our only other alternative was excavation, so we were happy with the more affordable liner option. There were some unexpected issues, but Benjamin Franklin was responsive to our concerns and we were able to coordinate work options ahead with management. Management addressed our concerns quickly and kindly, even bringing in additional workers to complete the project. I felt like I was a partner in this endeavor. I would recommend their services and will continue to use Benjamin Franklin for future plumbing needs.

I am looking to move my washer & dryer up to the main level from the basement. Ray provided me a thorough inspection, asked me good questions and explained his estimate in a clear manner. He wanted to make sure I didn't have any more questions, plus showed me where to turn the water off if necessary.

We had a leak in our water heater and had Brett came out. He provided us with different options before we ended up settling on a new water heater. During the initial visit, he also noticed we had a leak in our meter horn of the main water line into our home. He advised me to contact the City of Plymouth to get a new meter horn. Brett then came out within the week to install our new water heater, installed the new water meter I picked up from the City of Plymouth, and tested our water all on the same visit! Brett was very professional, honestly answered my questions, and did quality work! Was very happy with the service received from Brett and Benjamin Franklin Plumbing!

Prompt, great service, many pricing options

Tech who came out to the house was perfectly fine and professional, but the service charge to hear basically just hear a sales pitch is ridiculous. I told him what the problem likely was, we've had roots in our main line before, and got a lot of info for plans and options for the current problem. The service fee costs about 1% of their lowest price for the job, but there should be no fee at all since the tech did no work beyond walking down to the basement. Not his fault, he's just doing what he his job required. A service fee for this is ridiculous. UPDATE: turns out the problem wasn't what I thought it was, the blockage was farther up the pipe, not tree roots. Learned this from a plumber who showed up and actually did some work. UPDATE 2: Benjamin Franklin refunded the fee, and I am satisfied with this resolution.

I needed service on a Sunday. They came quick and were knowledgeable. However, it was a valve that needed to be replaced, which took him about 15min to replace... the bill was over $700!?!? I was stuck, so I had to pay it, but goodness that's taking someone over the coals for a 20-30min stop.

Joe was knowledgeable and friendly. He took the time to show me the damaged parts, and explained exactly what he would do to repair them. He gave me an estimate, and was careful to explain that the charge(s) were for the designated job, not for the amount of time spent on doing the repairs. I was pleased with the result and the amount I was charged for the job. I told Joe that I had originally tried a competitor, but they kept having emergencies and not showing up. I told him that my daughter had recently utilized the services of Ben Franklin Plumbing for a plumbing problem she had. I am pleased with the service provided by Ben Franklin in the time window scheduled, and as represented and provided by Joe Fletcher. I told Joe that we had a number other plumbing jobs which need to be looked at, and he offered to look at them, ,but told him that today it was our current emergency that I needed resolved. Before starting, he gave a free inspection, where we were told a lot of our plumbing was about to fail. He started in with a campaign to buy their monthly membership plan. I declined, but he brought it up multiple times, and it got uncomfortable, his demeanor changed. Too bad, because he seemed like a nice guy otherwise.Final bill was $700 for a minor job. Like other reviewers, I'm unclear how they price the job and should have asked upfront. If it's hourly, I paid for 30 min of free inspection and sales pitch/pressure to buy the membership.One star for the nice scheduling lady and one star for the work which seems fine.So much potential, Benjamin Franklin. Please be transparent with pricing, price fairly, let your plumbers plumb rather than be forced to be salesman.

We asked Benjamin Franklin to snake our main sewer line and they came out and quoted us $1,350 after charging us $350 just to put a camera down our drain. They instructed us they’d need to take our toilet off in order to access the main line. We declined services and called somewhere else for a second opinion. This plumber found our main line immediately and charged us $225 to snake the line. I think Benjamin Franklin was trying to take advantage of me. I will NEVER use them again.

Shady business. Wish I hadn't used them.I asked them for a quote for installing a new garbage disposal. They refused to give me a quote, but promised that they'd charge a fair price. Once they arrived, they installed it in less than an hour, then charged me $500. Rather than call me to ask for approval, they asked my mom who happened to be in the house at the time.To make it worse, the installer said that we shouldn't use the garbage disposal for food - they said that food should be scraped into the garbage.I called around other plumbing companies for a number of quotes, and none of them were more than $400. Had I known their business practices, I would have used a different company.

Had a water softener installed and a laundry tub.The price was more than I thought it would be but that may be the lack of my knowledge on how much it would cost and just figured it would have been lower. The coupons and discounts helped. They were fast and friendly, absolutely respectful with masks and covers on thier boots i was also given a rundown of the operation of the water softener and they programmed it for me. Was happy with everything and would recommend them if you need work done.

We have had 2 different plumbers try to fix our problem of our sump pump backing up into the kitchen sink. Ben Franklin came to the rescue when our water lines clogged completely and flooded our kitchen. We were ready to pay for after hours emergency cost, but a cancellation in their schedule got them out early and they only charged the regular fee. Wow! Impressive customer service.

This company is a scam. Quoted me $900 to replace my garbage disposal. Basic setup. The disposal was $119 at Home Depot and I just swapped it myself in 30 minutes. This company is outrageously over priced. They also quoted me $1800 to add an RO system to my already plumbed refrigerator water line. You can't make this stuff up. Go elsewhere.

Luke provided recommended options for replacement of our galvanized kitchen drain line. Drain line was replaced in minimal time and everything was cleaned up after he was completed. Thank you Luke and Michael!

Felipe did a great job helping us fix the drain clog we had from our toilet. He also was great with walking through our options and the plan for resolving the clog.

Reid and his crew did an excellent jog at the somewhat complicated plumbing job of removing my old carbon filter and water heater and installing a new and more efficient tankless water hearer.

Brad was great to work with, listened to our issue and showed me what the possible problem was. When he narrowed down the problem, he explained what was wrong and presented me with a few options ranging from minimal to complete that would make the situation better. He discovered that the recirculator wasn't working because we had a bad check valve. He reset the water heater and mixer, shut off the recirculator and closed the valves that were pushing cold water backwards. Hopefully that was all that was needed. If not, I will be in touch. Toilet needed a new valve system, total repair was done and charged an exobitent fee, which was partially refunded. I was in and out of hospital for 1 1/2 years. Called to report toilet doesn't hold water. Was told I would have to pay for service call AND repairs, again! Not a reputable company in my opinion if they can't repair something correctly and then want to charge again to fix what they didn't fix the first time.

Paid 250 bucks to have a clogged drain cleaned to the city street, they gave up half way through. Say they cant fix it and give me a quote for a 4 grand high pressure jet to blast the stuff out.This is a common trick used by companies to grift you out of money. I called a smaller company my friend recommended and they cleared the line for 150 dollars. I paid 250 dollars to learn a lesson. I will never use Ben Franklin again. And I recommend you don't.

Plumber was professional and found the leak immediately. Did a great job explaining the issue. He fixed the problem right away and saved us money! We experienced a very rare occurrence where company’s computer system was down and this caused service to be late. Staff kept me informed and I would like to share that we were reimbursed for the time by taking a portion off the bill for which I was so appreciative!

Matt provided a quick assessment of our water heater (which needed to be replaced) and was able to get a new one installed in less than 2 hours. Great experience and would use again.

We got a shut off valve replaced and they charged us $700. The part itself is extremely cheap and he was here for an hour, so apparently they charge over $600/hour for labor?We also asked him to look at a leaky spigot outside and he quoted us over $1k because he could tell by looking at it that we need to get into the drywall. The next day we got it fixed for $300, there was no need to open up the wall. Apparently they are reputable but we had a bad experience with them, wouldn't recommend.

We were desperate for expert help off hours. Roman picked up our call at 8pm and completed the job quietly enough that neither of our kids woke up. It was a little expensive, but again, this is off hours expert help that showed up within an hour of calling.

We had a mostly clogged drain. They were able to schedule me in the next day after calling. My technician had been out to my house before and already had a good understanding of the idiosyncrasies of the house's plumbing. They were quick and efficient and willing to work around the other construction going on in my house.

Service was good but they only had one option for water heater. It was a good one though. Price was higher than others but service was performed on Saturday in 4 hours.

Brett came to run a gas line for a new range. While there, he noticed another line that wasn't connected to anything obvious. He took the time to investigate and determine that it was running through a crawlspace to a connection for a gas grill the previous owners had. He made sure the gas was turned off, preventing a safety hazard we hadn't been aware of. Oh, and he determined the best way to hook up the range and did the work quickly and efficiently. My water softener wasn't softening, I called a company and they came yesterday and couldn't find a problem. Within 5 minutes reid found the valve that wasn't supposed to be on and turned it off and my water softener worked. I called Ben Franklin Plumbing to replace my failing water heater. It was long over due and had finally started leaking. Daniel was prompt and very professional. He had a new heater with him and was able to replace it in just a few hours. He was very careful not to damage my doors or carpeting bringing in the new heater and removing the old one. And he cleaned up after himself before leaving. I was very satisfied and would call them again if I have any other plumbing needs.

I have called on Benjamin Franklin Plumbing for multiple projects over the past year. It is always easy to schedule the work, the technician comes when expected, and the repairs seem well done. Matt S recently replaced both some outdoor plumbing and then I needed him to replace my water heater. Matt seemed very knowledgeable, friendly, and talked me through options without pressure. Work was completed right away.

I was quoted $ 1,500 $1,300 with a membership for a main valve on my waterline to be replaced. I knew (as two professionals) told me it would cost about $200-$300 max dollars. Benjamin Franklin Plumbing charged me $69.00 to come out and look at it. I had to pay that fee and tell them they were out of their mind on the price. I called a local plumbing company and it took 10 minutes to do the work. I paid for one hour $195. NEVER USE Benjamin Franklin Plumbing.

Had a shower valve replacement. Plumber was very good, efficient service. Only complaint was sticker shock. The plumber was upfront about the cost. The part was maybe 100 bucks but the labor was 7 times more. We needed a workable shower so didn’t have time to shop around for someone else.

We were without hot water this morning, and I called to request service at about 10:30 AM. By 11:45 AM, Brendan arrived. Unfortunately, our water heater had rusted through and so needed to be replaced. Unlike my experience with another plumbing company, Brendan did not recommend a tankless heater, even though it would likely have meant more income. He cleared his afternoon schedule, got an associate to bring a replacement water heater over, and was completely done with the installation by 3:30 PM. I suspect that this might not be the cheapest company around, but it was a pleasure doing business with a concern that seems dedicated to customer service and honesty in its dealings.

Their service technicians are professional and very respectful of your home as well as rentals - and tenants.Responsive, capable, and no BS.Would recommend.

My small 4plex building has had such good experiences working with Ben Franklin. I’d called them for basic-but-urgent plumbing issues way back, and they were great then, too! But they have been outstanding to work with for urgent plumbing issues and boiler issues but also have a great (and very reasonably priced) inspection subscription program to help reduce the likelihood of urgent issues by catching them ahead. The teams always take our urgent calls seriously, have provided very prompt service with good communication, and the staff who make the house calls are always both extremely knowledgeable but also professional and friendly. Would happily recommend these folks for any of your plumbing/water heater or boiler/furnace needs.

I hired them to change an older water heater, water softener and fix 2 toilets. They did a good job but the new water softener (Brita Pro) failed about a week later. They reset and worked for a few days. Then again stopped working. Then they came again to clean the electric motor, and failed again. I talked to the manager because it is obvious that we got a defective product, but he told me that they do not manufacture it, but just install it. And they need to follow Brita’s instructions. Now it failed again. I am waiting for them to come a third time. Now they will change a circuit board (they ordered it and in the meantime I have to wait - with hard water). I have had worse water since they installed this faulty product than I had with my old one.In summary: Good plumbers, questionable customer service policies, and a very bad product.Update 1/14: Still waiting for the part. I called and they will not change the softener.Update 1/20: They changed the part and the water softener has been working. They mentioned that if it fails one more time, they will change the softener.

This was the first experience I've had with this company. From start to finish it was spectacular. I called because I had a coupon from one of those mailers. I was able to schedule quickly (within 2 days out) and then a day before the repairman was scheduled, the office reached out and said they were in the area and if I was available they could come out same day. Fantastic!In comes Brett. After explaining the toilet leak and why we thought it was leaking (recently had a contractor work on a bathroom project and he had made some modifications to the toilet because it was a little wobbly). Brett listened, explained what could be the problem and the options and pricing. Luckily, the problem didn't warrant us to do some major repair and renovations. He was thorough and explained everything before and after fixing the issue. Brett not only fixed the toilet but in the troubleshooting process, he noticed where the seal in our shower wasn't fully caulked and told us that it looked like water was getting thru and showed us where we needed to re-caulk. We never noticed that before!!! As we were finishing the service call, I thanked him again and especially for finding that caulking issue. He told me that a lot of times leaks are not always caused by what we think so he knows that he should look around for other issues causing leaks. Who knows how long or even if we would have noticed this resulting in long term mold issues.Definitely would recommend Brett and Benjamin Frankly Plumbing. Hopefully no more plumbing issues but if I did, I'd use them again in a heartbeat!

We were having issues with the water pressure in our home. Brad listened to what we had told him. He did a thorough inspection. When he didn’t see anything wrong with the pipes, he asked if we had recently turned off the water in the house. We had. This led him to the turn off valve where he discovered that the gear inside was neither opening nor closing. It got repaired in no time. In addition when I asked about a leaky faucet in the kitchen, he had a clear answer. Now, we have the water pressure back, it’s a new lever to turn the water off to the house, along with an updated kitchen faucet. Brad was very personable, which made the experience better.

Hard water buildup had caused our kitchen faucet to malfunction and leak so we needed a replacement. They were able to send someone out the same day. Joe evaluated the situation and gave me a quote. He recommended that I buy the replacement faucet myself as it would save me quite a bit of money. While he took out the old one, I ran to Home Depot and bought a new one, which he was able to install very quickly. He also tested my water hardness and gave me some information about water softeners. He was friendly, personable, informative, and professional. I appreciated the help on such short notice. We're headed out of the country in a few days and it was one less thing to worry about before we leave.

Cut a whole through the wall behind the toilet, identified the problem, and confirmed the cost. I told him to go ahead. Altogether it took about an hour. He was clean and wore booties to protect my floor. I would definitely recommend this company and plumber.

Wow - wanting to overcharge for a water heater installation is an understatement! A reputable plumber is charging $1500-1700 for water heater replacement. Benjamin Franklin - One hour plumbing wanted more the TWICE the price! Absolutely a waste of time.

BF Plumbing came out on a Monday after being contacted on Sunday to fix a leaky faucet before we left on vacation the day after. They were upfront and open about the cost. However, they made it sound like a hard job and that they may have to get into our house and cut open the wall behind it, which I shared then we would not fix. They changed out the exterior hose bibb ($17 part at the local hardware store) and finished the job in less than 10 minutes. They charged hundreds of dollars. They left happy and I felt swindled and exploited. What a way to start vacation.

Emanuel was able to locate the pipe problem within less than 5mins and fixed our pipe leakage for a reasonable charge amount. I would definitely use Benjamin Franklin Plumbing again and recommend them to anyone having plumbing issues.

On time and very professional! Moved our gas line keeping the area super clean! Answered all of our questions about other projects and helped disconnect our dishwasher at the end of the service.

He also installed our new stove after several failures by a retail vendor's outsourced installers. He was very knowledgeable and explained what he was doing and why. We had Ben Franklin out to replace a bathroom faucet. They accidentally cracked the vanity top (I sympathize, that faucet was NOT easy to remove) but they were very helpful the entire way. They offered to send us a check for a new vanity, then came out and swapped out the vanity and installed the faucet for free. It was not an ideal situation but everyone I worked with was very professional and courteous and they made situation right in the end. I appreciate their help and feel confident working with them in the future!

Matt was very courteous and polite. He thoroughly explained everything he was going to do, made sure we understood what he was doing and why. He was able to find the problem and fix it. He tried to give us the lowest cost. He thoroughly explained the Ben Franklin membership, but no pressure to sign up. Our dog loved Matt!!

I needed their service to see if the water in the basement was a plumbing issue. Gabe was so knowledgeable, friendly, and professional. He is a keeper and a real asset to the team.

Plumbing evaluation was excellent.

Needed my boiler to be diagnosed which they did, and said the total to repair a expansion tank and supposedly the gauge would be almost 1,000 dollars. DID IT MYSELF for a whopping $45 and the gauge works just fine reading correct numbers now. I’m already struggling with money and was really about to pay 15x the price for an expansion tank replacement. I really can’t believe they screw people who don’t know much all day long.

Skilled plumber…Yes. Nice guy…yes. They came the same day ….But OMG the installation fee to install( replace) existing water heater ( we had the water heater) was $2,051 (included tax and I used coupon) They were here under 2 hours. That’s $1,000 an hour. Ridiculous!

I'm so angry and frustrated with my customer service experience with Ben Franklin Plumbing of Greater Minneapolis. We had a gas leak at night when it was freezing outside. They knew it was an emergency (our furnace was down because of it, the pipes could have frozen, we'd have had to relocate for the night), and I feel like they totally exploited the situation. The technician just made up a number for a price, and refused to itemize it in any way- parts, labor, etc, even after we repeatedly asked him to. There was zero transparency to the pricing. It's what I say it costs. He knew we were desperate. At first, I figured, well, I'm sure he's right. But after we had him fix it (we had to, we didn't really have a choice), we researched it and several independent sources, including the gas company, told us that the price they charged was “totally unreasonable” and “wildly exorbitant - nearly 4 times what it should have cost.Additionally, an hour or two after he left, we got a water leak we’d never had before in the precise area he'd been working. When we called to ask about it, he told us “too bad for you, it’s not my problem.” My husband told him we'd go to the Better Business Bureau, and he said, do it, what the hell do I care? and essentially hung up on us. I then called the main office and asked to speak to someone about the whole situation- about how they determined the price, about the rudeness and lack of follow-up. I tried to be reasonable and kind, and the woman on the phone was pleasant enough, but told me over and over the only person I could talk to was the manager of the plumbing department...who also happened to be our technician. I begged her to talk to any other kind of manager or owner, and she said he was the only person to talk to. Clearly that wasn't an option at that point.We then turned to the Better Business Bureau to mediate, and Ben Franklin plumbing still refused to explain the rate or give us a break. They did tell us and the BBB they’d refund one small piece - a membership program he essentially made us purchase (it discounted the rate by enough that it paid for itself, in theory, though the rates were so arbitrary it just seems like a scam). And then they simply didn’t process the refund. When the BBB followed up they said they “forgot” and that they took care of it, but it still hasn't shown up and at this point I'm sure it never will. This was an all-around enraging experience, and we feel that they completely took advantage of the desperateness of our situation.
