If anyone is in need of a plumber in the Park Ridge/Northwest Chicago area, I highly recommend Tim at Practical Plumbing. He is extremely responsive (providing updates on scheduling/arrival), professional, flexible, as well as clean and considerate of the areas he is working in. Additionally, he is affordable and honest – hard to come by sometimes these days. I’ve been looking for a local plumber for a while and have now found my go-to guy.

This is my go-to plumber for jobs big and small. They're super clean, professional and considerate; always wearing booties before entering. I never see that with any other company who comes to my home to do work. Very affordable and has always worked around my schedule. They always make me feel confident that I called the right place.

Excellent plumber, affordable, courteous & down to earth!!! We had a chain company out, charged us $150 to “try and fix it” then estimated the job on the roof to unclog our drain $700 more than what Jim charged us! Jim gave us a affordable quote on further work needed in the near future ( very affordable)... I wish i would have called him before we spent the weekend trying to fix it ourselves. We did not get anything in return for this review, just hoping to help other folks find a great plumber 😊

I worked with Jim, he was aggressive and confrontational when I inquired about the work I paid him for. Big attitude problem and careless about customer service. I recommend he check his ego and that you look for someone else who cares to answer simple questions. Good luck if you choose his services.

My wife and I had a very bad experience with Jim Beattie, the owner of Practical Plumbing. There are lots of plumbers out there. Find one that is licensed, insured, and has good reviews.

BEWARE- Jim will become aggressive and even confrontational when asked about the work he has performed. If you want to be able to understand the work you are paying thousands for, i would not recommend his services. Completely unprofessional and rude. Anybody who hangs up on a customer that is simply trying to understand the price for the work should not service the community. Highly recommend he check his ego and that you look for someone else if you want good customer service. Never recommending him to any of my network and hope you do not trust him when he says you have a warranty on his work.
