My technician Chris Meyers was excellent!!! He arrived promptly and was incredibly professional the entire visit. He ended up replacing my furnace and I know nothing about that sort of thing. He very thoroughly explained what was going on with my furnace and gave various options for replacement. He explained things in a way that even I could understand. There’s was no mess, he left everything clean at the end of the job. I would give him a third thumb up if I had one,lol!

The technician was great affordable guaranteed work.

Prompt response time but outrageous prices. Called to have waterline ran to fridge and wash machine hookups set up. Their quote came in at over $1700. We had the water supply line kit. The only equipment we did not have was the shutoff valves for the wash machine hookups. Blew my mind how crazy the price was. Ended up doing the waterline to the fridge myself in under an hour. That cost was over $400 for on the quote. The technician seemed like a good guy though.

Matthew listened to my concerns. Was very informative and gave me options. This company is very flexible and works with you if you need financing.

Had plumbing and electrical guys out today for an estimate. All members of the Hoover team were very respectful and professional. I have used Hoover in the past and will continue to use them in the future.

The technician Chris Meyers was extremely knowledgeable and very professional. I was having issues with my furnace due to it not performing a proper heating cycle. Chris quickly identified the problem, resolved the issue, and explained their full point inspection upon completion.

In addition, I was offered several possible solutions to other issues that I was made aware of, e.g., water heater, vent duct cleaning.

However, I never felt as if I was being pressured into additional services or products. Although, I did appreciate the honesty and candor of the technician which allowed me to confidently make a qualified judgement on possible next steps later in the year.

Josh came today to fix a leaking tub drain, and quickly identified the root cause. He not only repaired it, but also took care to fix and enhance a few other things unrelated to the original issue. In addition, he was very professional, cordial, and completed the job promptly. I give him and Hoover the highest possible marks!

They came quickly. The Electrician was nice and very professional; but GONE are the days when they say they will give you a FREE ESTIMATE, even though it was advertised. ( lol) I thought the doorbell was out, it wasn’t and that my friends cost me $60. I should have called my neighbor. With prices like this, companies won’t sustain their businesses. There seems to not be any GOODWILL anymore.

The technician contacted me according to the pre-arranged time and arrived as scheduled. Chris was courteous, went to work on the furnace and cleaned and looked at safety concerns. He also took time to check my new thermostat in order to check the furnace response. A power outage had changed details on the mechanism. I was satisfied with all the work even though it ended with a safety concern to clear up and added extra cost.

This middle aged man came out, punctually, said he'd been with Hoover only 6 months, after years of self-employment. He quoted me on on a repair of rusting old drain-pipe, and secondly, for an upgrade to carbon-filter the entire house's water. Still thinking about that one. He was VERY knowledgeable, and even taught me things about the house I've owned forever.
The prior tech installed my new wi-fi thermostat. Of course, he was young, but surely knew his stuff. It works amazingly well.
A third visit ago, yet another young tech fixed my stove burner, told me how to fix my own furnace-humidifier, and charged me only for some other minor repair.
What a company!!!?!!

If you ever need electrical work done, I can fully recommend Hoover Electric Inc. I just had these guys out for a two day upgrade job on a 1940's bungalow. They HOOKED IT UP. They knew their stuff, were totally professional, fixed everything, cleaned up, and got me up to code, even handled a few additional items beautifully. The price was below my budget. In ways, its like a new house. I will have them back for more work for sure.

Chris, Tyler, and Scott have done a phenomenal job at installing the new furnace. The installation took half a day, but it took that long because they wanted to make sure that the set up was done probably and correctly which I admire most. Christ and Tyler gave me a tour of their work and walked me through the thermostat. I would highly recommend these guys to anyone.

This company is one of the biggest rip offs ever. They charge for estimates. Their estimates are 4x more than any reasonable price and include less service. The things that are comparable in price include less service. Employees have gone out of their way to try to do things for me behind the companies back because they know its THAT bad and can offer me such a better price its silly. NOTICE: anyone giving a positive review doesn't quote prices, doesn't know what they are talking about, and are just happy that they didn't get ripped off because they are terrible at doing business.

The service man was professional. But the price was put outrageous. Approximately 600.00, to change toilet tank and replace faucet. I was supplying all materials.

Had William come out for an issue with a Sanipro maceration pump in my basement. He made sure to walk me through a number of potential issues before trying a couple trouble shooting tasks before doing any major work. Thankfully the issue was solved with a quick flush of the system by turning on the shower that had not been used in about a year. He made sure to understand the problem and try small fixes before diagnosing anything and starting work that would have likely cost me at least double the price. I appreciate the honesty and respect he showed me while at my house to figure things out.

Arrived within a half hour of my call and charged $80 to diagnose and repair my furnace. The guy knew what he was doing and completed the work quickly.

We'd been feeling sick for about a month so we decided to have our own safety inspection done on the furnace. Joe and Scott came out from Hoover and took one look at our furnace. There was a crack and heat exchanger and it was so old and it was not working properly and it was condemned. After that they did a Co2 check on the furnace. It was putting out after Chart Co2. I would recommend these guys to anybody they are honest and their up front. I have been sick for almost a month with headaches and nausea not understanding why I'm sick. Hoover did a wonderful job I could not have asked for more. They were professional they were polite and knowledgeable I highly recommend these people

Unfortunately I needed both Electrical and Plumbing checked out. Both teams were on time, professional, friendly, and thorough. I couldn’t ask for better service. I wish I could afford to get all done, but will have to do little at a time.

I made an appointment for this company to come out and bid some work. I was quoted a morning time, and made plans to take the morning off work to accommodate. At 2 PM, no one had shown, so I called and was told i was next on the list for their tech. I then made arrangements to miss the rest of the day at work at that point, to ensure I'd be able to be at my home for the tech's imminent arrival. At 5 PM, no one had shown. This shows how little value this company places in honoring their commitments, and how little they value the time of their customers. I work in residential real estate sales, and will be glad to share my terrible experience with anyone who asks about a plumbing, HVAC, or electrical contractor. Do not waste your time with this company, they will certainly waste yours.

Some of the worst quotes I’ve ever seen, it’s obvious why they don’t talk price ranges over the phone. Wouldn’t recommend this company to my worst enemy.

I purchased a house and paid $100 for an estimate from this company last year and was told that it would cost around $4000 to tear out the floor to replace the pipes in order to fix a low water flowing sink. I called another company and they fixed the problem by banging on the pipes with a wrench, laughed and charged me $20 for gas lol.

A technician came out to look at my mother's furnace and quoted her a price of $1,667 to fix her main control board, flame sensor and smart valve gas. The same day a another technician from the same company came out and told her it was better to replace the furnace, she then received a quote of $3k. We wanted a second opinion and had another company come out the following day and the furnace was fixed for $150.00!! One wire needed to be replaced and she did NOT have to spend thousands!

Timely and professional craftsmanship.

The toilet was unclogged, but the day after I found scratches on the bathroom floor. When I brought this up to them, I was told the plumber denied it and blamed it on a previous company which is absolutely false. Since Hoover couldn’t show proof for either side, they refunded me completely so I give them credit for that.

My advice is to take pictures of the area they’re working on before they come over for repairs so this doesn’t happen to you. They’ll also try to sell you a “VIP membership”.

Had Chris out to my house today to look at my furnace. Nice guy, real thorough and knowledgeable. Got out here the same day I called. Didn’t try to push anything on me or make me feel dumb for not knowing all about my furnace. Made sure to lay out all the options for me and ensure I understood everything. When it comes time to replace my aging furnace, definitely plan to use Hoover.

Brady was very prompt and courteous and listened very well. He was able to diagnose my exterior electrical problem very quickly and solved my issue (I’m happy!). I will now have him come back for more electrical work upstairs. I also appreciated the texts I received from Hoover Electrical regarding my appointment time and technician name (it even had Brady’s picture so I knew whom to expect!). Great job!

I had a water heater installed and some electrical work done to fix a well pump issue. Both the electrician and plumber were very knowledgeable and professional.

I've also had them out multiple times for HVAC. The latest was to repair some damage from a roof leak. Not only did they repair the damage, but they cleaned up my large mess (I had to tear some water saturated ceiling tiles out of the ceiling to get to the leak and had left a big mess that I had planned on cleaning after the repair).

I have only positive things to say about all 3 trades represented by this company.

The technician, William, was able to fix the issue with my sump pump while diagnosing the problem. After that, he tested the system and showed me a few techniques to test it periodically. Fortunately it was a minor issue and it cost a lot less than I expected.

Truly disgusted with the level of professionalism and service provided. We have been having issues with our AC unit and furnace and, unfortunately, discovered that our furnace needed to be replaced and couldn't be repaired. Since Hoover came out to look at the furnace to repair it, we decided to schedule a quote and new furnace install with them. They told us that they'd get back to us to get that all scheduled, but never reached out. When we reached out ourselves they scheduled us a week out of a quote and promised to put us on an urgency list (with hopeful next day installation, same week installation guaranteed) since we were living in a home with no AC in the height of summer. After that phone call, we were feeling hopeful. The next day, however, our hopes were completely tanked. We called to double check the quote window so one of us could be home and they told us they were still coming out for the quote, but couldn't do an install until a week later (we were told they scheduled us for the later date), but would try to get us higher up on the list. We called today to see if there was any movement and when to expect someone to come out for an install and they then informed us that we in fact WERE NOT scheduled for the day we thought we were scheduled for and were told we were scheduled for and that now they couldn't get someone out for an install for another 2 weeks. We have been in desperate need to get our furnace and AC fixed because the house has been measuring at 90 degrees indoors for 4 days straight and Hoover was made well aware of this. I understand that the season is busy, but when we are guaranteed same week installation, get pushed back with a guarantee of a different date only to find out they didn't actually put us on the schedule? I'm disgusted. DO NOT book anything with Hoover. They will just screw you over when you need it most. We are cancelling all future appointments with them and will NEVER be calling them again.

I had major issues with my drain and hoover electric plumbing and heating was there. They were very fast and courteousand went way out of their way to make sure that my problem was handled in a timely manner. I would definitely recommend them!!!great job

I normally do not do long reviews (if any at all). Furnace went out last night. Of course it’s February and freezing temps outside! Next morning, I thought for sure any Company that I call to come out same day, I was probably going to be ‘taken for a ride’. And I’d pay. No heat. Winter. House freezing! My niece recommended Hoover Electric Plumbing Heating and Cooling. I called. Explained situation. They said someone would call me back. Chris M. called me back. He said they could schedule a visit for tomorrow. They close at 5pm. I told him I get off work around 5pm and could be home by 5:15pm. And he said yes! He was willing to wait after hours to help. Finished work. Drove home. The messaging, and text service from Hoover was a nice touch. You know exactly where and what time they are arriving. I was told by Amy in Office it was a $80 Service Fee to come out. And that any work done, the $80 fee would be applied towards bill. I’m thinking ‘$80? Not bad. Same day. Technically after hours! What’s the catch?’
Chris came out. Very polite. Very professional. Punctual. 5:14pm. He went to basement and started on Furnace. Said to me, ‘this usually takes anywhere from 30-45mins to diagnose the problem’. I was thinking, ‘Oh boy, here it comes!’ My furnace is only 9 years old, but I was still expecting to pay $250-300 minimum. 35 mins later, Chris tells me ‘your furnace is back on’. He had checked out the unit from A-Z. Found a clogged tube. Cleaned it. Put it back in. Heat! Glorious heat! We discussed some other things I was thinking about: new water heater, duct cleaning etc. He writes up an estimate for everything I ask for. Tells me they also do 0% financing and one year same as as cash. I’m thinking ‘nice’. Also thinking, ‘what’s he getting out of this?’ I ask him. ‘So, your commission based, right?’ He says, ‘nope. I’m hourly. Makes no difference to me whether you decide to upgrade, or what type of unit. I get paid the same’.
Now that’s an awesome thing! Not being pressured or fear talked into ‘upgrading’ into something that I may not need. He shows me my invoice for work done. $80. Total.That’s it! My faith is restored in finding such an honest and ethical HVAC Company! I will be recommending Hoover Electric Plumbing & H/C to all my family and friends! And, Chris... thank you! I’m grateful. I myself am a licensed plumber, but don’t snake drains. My customer had Hoover out to snake the main drain. I was there. Tech told my customer that they don’t snake through house traps and that he would have to break up the basement floor and dig up outside. To the tune of 10,000$!! I had another plumber friend of mine snake it for 100$. These guys are a total rip off. It really makes me angry when people in my trade rip people off. It gives us all a bad name. Oh, by the way the sewer opened in 5 feet, and was clear all the way out. Can anyone say commission?

We should have called Family Heating and Cooling. To trouble shoot a job we were charged $370 dollars. The price for putting up a ceiling fan was almost $500, which we declined. While the reps were nice and professional, what we were charged was outlandish. If we had to do it all over again we would have said no to everything and just took a loss on the $60 dollar service call fee. VERY DISAPPOINTED WITH THE HIGH PRICE FOR GETTING A COUPLE OF OUTLETS WORKING. :-(

Pricing is simply outrageous… We had a small list of work to be done that the technician quoted $8,500 for and said would only take him a day to complete - that’s $1,100 PER HOUR for a service that competitors have quoted me $2,000, at most.

Definitely ask for an itemized estimate - you will find charges out of this world… including $672 for THREE fire/carbon detectors to be put on the ceiling… $362 just to replace THREE GFI outlets… $479 just to check my three ceiling fans were on fan boxes (literally to just remove the fan, peak up, and put the fan back on the ceiling)… and the kicker a whopping $1500 just to REPLACE 30 traditional outlets. Purely remarkable estimates for materials that cost little to nothing in comparison. And they said they don’t provide quotes based off labor, just by the project - which I found interesting considering electrical work is literally labor work.

Loved to see the great reviews on here but sadly had to go with a competitor as they were able to complete the work faster for so much less!

We had a brown out in our area that I didn’t know about that caused our furnace to go down. Hoover was able to get to my house right away and was super nice about it. Despite it just being a problem with the power company they were still very polite about the whole thing. They even checked out some other stuff in my house and answered all my questions about the outage and the possibility of it being something elsenin the house. I will absolutely be using them in the future. I 100% recommend them.

We purchased two new 40 gallon water heaters through Home Depot for about $4,000. HD contracted with DRF who in turn contracted with Hoover. Hoover was good on communication, calling and sending texts about the arrival of their technician. They were professional, and cleaned up the area nicely. Unfortunately, the water heaters produced only tepid water in the first 24 hours. The technician returned, and changed the height of a dip tube. That produced hot water, but we had to run the kitchen sink for 4.5 minutes to get water at 110 degrees, despite its location about 30 linear feet from the tanks. On the third visit, a more experienced technician decided we needed significant changes to the way the water came in and out of the tanks, with five new valves and a cost to us of $835. If this had been in the original quote, we might have seen it as reasonable. Now, this project has caused us to be home four days in the last week, and it cost us more than other quotes we received. We are very disappointed.

As it turned out, Hoover just had to check out my circuit box to discover I wasn't flicking a couple breakers all the way over, this allowing them to trip easily. Price to replace a garbage disposal was $867 and the plumber took only 45 minutes. There was no detailed invoice provided but i checked pricing of the garbage disposal model at one of the home improvement stores and it was $110. Feel I got very ripped off on labor charges! Won’t use this company again.

Not only was he super friendly with an upbeat personality, he really knew his stuff. Definitely an asset to your company. Won't hesitate to call upon Hoover again for future service.

They were totally unable to fix our problem. Paid them $300 to replace the flame sensor because they said we needed it. He replaced that and he still couldn’t get the furnace to work. So the next day he called wanting to come back for a third time, but this time he wanted us to allow him to replace both the memory board ($700)and something else for $300, yet he wanted to be clear that those would be attempts to fix what MAY Be wrong. He said he had called Lennox many times for advice but was unable to get through, so he was assuming it were going to be one of the two suggested parts. He was totally clueless! After that I told him not to come back until he can tell me what the problem actually is. I could’ve watched a YouTube video and called Lennox myself if I wanted to shoot aimlessly into the dark and hope throwing parts at it would eventually stick. 🙄

Hoover came by to provide an estimate on a water tank – they do not provide free estimates, be prepared to pay a fee. Quote was way too high compared to others with same water tank size. Thankful that I didn’t use Hoover.

Wesley arrived bright and early and on time! A very pleasant and professional young man, who had to duck as he entered our home. I felt confident with him right away as we introduced ourselves. I could tell he definitely knew what he was doing. After a few minutes of information gathering, he got right to work, knowing what the problem was. He also offered to inspect the rest of the house just Incase there were other issues that I may not have noticed. He did find a couple and offered to fix those as well. They also took trim off the wall in the bedroom, and left it off said I have to fix that myself. Otherwise they were polite. I like the texts the company sends. i have The above issues but I will probably use them again if I need anything.

We had a sewer back up in our basement. We had a different company come out first and they had no idea where the main drain was and really didn't care. Took money for a service call (they couldn't find the problem in the clean out) and said they'd come back if we found it. Called HOOVER ELECTRIC PLUMBING and we met WESLEY!! He's an angel!!! (Wings were hidden) He took the time and found the outside clean out and found a bunch of tree roots that caused our back up. Cleaned it out and all is great!!!! Thank you WESLEY!!! YOU ROCK!!! Thanks to Chris, whose thorough inspection on our furnace ensured us about our HAVC before the winter arrives. He's polite, professional, willing to answer questions and do favors. Besides inspection, he also helped me changing the filter and inspect the filter of the humdifier. Strongly recommend Hoover, from the pre and after service I belive it's a company with many staffs as dedicated as Chris.

I would never ever use this company for anything they are the biggest rip offs ever. I called them to get a quote for a water line for my refrigerator. The guy came in looked at the are and quoted me $835 yep $835. I told him thanks but no thanks and he left. Now remind you I had 2 quotes prior to that and 1 was $175-250 and the other was $150-225 big difference right. 2 hours after he left he called back and said his boss looked at the quote and realized that he hit the wrong button and the quote was actually $614 lmao. Needless to say I paid $190 with a warranty. Listen seniors please beware.

Unbelievable. Typical cost to install a new outlet is $150. I’ve had this exact work done multiple times in the same home.

Hoover charges $60 to come to the home with the promise that that charge would go toward the work. They then gave an estimate of $650 for a 10’ run of cable for a new outlet off an existing line! This is criminal. The racket here is partner with Home Depot, go on as many calls as possible and do as little actual work as possible. If the work is agreed upon it is a 4x markup of what it should be. I will be filing a complaint.

I had a problem with my hot water heater and sump pump. They came out and did a great job . Today William came out because the problem recurred he thought we had to replace a part on the water heater while waiting to receive the part he realized that the problem was the gfi plug . The heater was fine no parts needed. After he left I was concerned because i did not see a flame william came back checked the unit and explained what i should look for. He was real nice and patient with me and my ignorance about these things . I am grateful to him and appreciated his efforts. Thank you for a great job.

I was looking to have a vent fan and some lights installed in my house. Note, I haven't yet had the work done but let me tell you about the wonderful customer experience I have had thus far. When you call this company they genuinely seem happy to talk with you, very flexible with your schedule, and consistent in maintaining that schedule. The day before I got a reminder text and email about their service, the morning of I got a personal call from their office giving a closer estimate to the time frame of when the technician would arrive. When I confirmed that was fine they sent a text with a picture of the technician coming to my house. Donnie was amazing. Very personable, worked with everything that I was looking for, and gave a home visual inspection while he was here. His inspection and quote for the work took around 30 minutes, he walked me through what he found in the inspection and the cost of each part of the electrical work I wanted done. I got the estimate and the inspection in an email instantly for my records. He set up a time right then and there to come back out to get the work done! I am incredibly impressed and happy with my experience thus far and will be happy to update this review once the work is done. (Oh they also provide awesome financing options!!!)

Update: Work was done today and I am absolutely blown away by the quality of the work done. Donnie and Duane were done sooner than expected, cleaned up after themselves, and everything looks great. Would absolutely recommend to anyone looking to have some electrical done in their home.

Call Hoover to have a drippy shower repaired. Joe was there same day within a couple of hours and gave an estimate first and a free evaluation of the entire home. He fixed the leak which was the cartridge in the handle in 15 min and we were all set. One hour tops! A little pricey but worth it for the efficiency and quality. Excellent

While i was over charged by at least $100 ($299.00 to snake out a kitchen drain) and over sold on some other items , the service was good and the tech was nice however i wont use these guys again

We called to have a water leak fixed. After trying 2 other companies that either never showed up and/or never called back, we tried Hoover for the first time. The appointment process was pleasant, fast and we made it for the next day between 8 am and 10 am. The time window came and went and no plumbers arrived. 11 am came and went. Nobody showed and NO CALL. I called Hoover. I was told they don’t show up until the current appointment is complete and they are on their way AND they don’t call to let you know they will be late. So, the point of setting up a two-hour appointment window is what??? We also run a business and, IMO, this is no way to conduct business, especially with another business owner. Now, the work - After arriving 4 hours late, they checked and couldn’t find a water leak. After telling me that, they did put a 2 foot square hole in our drywall. With that, they did find a leak. A clogged drain. They don’t do drywall repair work. So, there’s that problem. A gaping hole remains. $670.00 for about an hours work. The leak is fixed. We are left with a two-foot square hole. I’m just numb. I guess I should be happy they showed up. The other two companies didn’t.

Excellent Service. Marcus, Technician, was very friendly, answered questions, and informative. He informed me of different things about the furnace system I was not aware of. I joined the VIP membership program, which appears to be a really good membership program for heating, plumbing, and electric work.

My water heater died December 23. I verified on Rheem's website that the heater was under warranty. Hoover was listed as an authorized service provider. The morning of the 24th I used webchat and told them that Ihad looked up the diagnostic code and needed a new flammable vapor sensor and assumed that the repair would be covered under warranty. I was told that was fine but I needed to schedule on the phone. I got a call and scheduled for that afternoon. I was told that there was a $60 trip charge, waived if they did the repair, and I repeated that I expected it to be covered under warranty. I was told that she would note that on the paperwork.

That afternoon I got a call that the technician was delayed and we'd need to reschedule for another day. Given that the next day was Christmas, I told them I'd consult my wife and call back. We were busy and decided to just wait. I called on the 26th, repeated that I needed a flammable vapor sensor and expected it to be a warranty repair. They sent a technician that afternoon.

I told the technician that the error code was for a flammable vapor sensor and that I had tried to reset the sensor but that it would fail in thirty minutes or so. He verified the code. I told him that I expected it to be repaired under warranty. He said that the warranty only covered parts, that he would have to order the part and have it shipped to my home. I asked if he could use one of his parts and replace it with the warranty part. He said no. He took the manual and went to his truck to call the manufacturer.

He came back a long while later, went down to the basement and returned and said it was fixed, no part needed. I asked what he'd done. He said he reset it. I told him I'd already tried that. He told me he'd done more than unplug the power and plug it back in. I asked if he'd done more than turn the dial six times. He hadn't; so he'd done nothing more than I'd already done several times.

He collected the $60 trip charge and left. I ordered the part. When it came I decided that I'd just install the damn thing myself.

Hoover's staff should be trained to tell customers that warranty only covers parts and that the parts need to be ordered in advance. If I had been told that on the 24th, I could have had water many days sooner since parts take 2-4 business days to ship. I felt nobody was listening to me from start to finish. Their primary training and concern seemed to revolve around getting a trip charge.

Dave, at Hoover plumbing did an excellent job, cleaning out my basement drain, came on a Saturday , where other companies don't , had great communication , explained the issue and further prevention to my issue, a little on the pricey side, but overall excellent job .

My furnace was not working and I was able to have Hoover send a technician over within an hour of calling them on a Saturday. They sent me a picture of the technician, Scott, as well as letting me know via text message when he would be arriving. Luckily it was not a major fix and we only ended up paying for the service call, but Scott did notice there were a couple issues that might cause problems down the road and he presented two options to us for a future service call if we needed to pursue it. He also showed me how to fix the primary issue if it happened again. My wife and I were both very pleased with the service as well as the punctuality and professionalism of the technician.
