I called with main water line in bath clogged. They sent someone right out. Excellent service from Josh. He was very knowledgeable and after a thorough inspection presented several options for fixing the problem--giving the pros and cons of each one.
He was able to fix the problem, cleaned up the mess, and conducted the entire appointment professionally and friendly. I will definitely call Roto Rooter again if I have a problem.

The plumber here in Lexington Kentucky was very professional and friendly. He worked hard to help us out and was here at the house with in 30 minutes of our call. With 3 small children a clogged pipe that flooded the basement everytime the toilet was flushed is not ideal. He was quick with his job.

The main inlet line to our septic tank was clogged (roots in the line, apparently) which caused all of the toilets in our house not to flush and water to back up into all of our bathtubs. Of course, this all happened at about 8:00 PM on a night that my wife and I had to get up and go to work the next day. After making several calls to local plumbing contractors in the Paris/Lexington area, Roto-Rooter was the only one who would come help resolve the issue to get us flowing again. The plumber ended up being at our house working until after 1:00 AM but with the help of the mega-sized drain snake was able to get the drain line issue resolved so that we could use our facilities. The plumber was professional and friendly while at our home and he also added an extra wax gasket to the toilet that he pulled inside to help prevent future issues with the seal, which was appreciated.

My only issue was with the $4,500 quote that the plumber gave us to replace the inlet line running from the house to the septic tank. As a new, first-time homeowner, my eyeballs almost leapt from their sockets. I know that septic system repairs can be quite costly, but I also know that replacing one roughly 20' length of cast-iron pipe with PVC pipe should not be THAT expensive. After doing some research, I found that the quoted price was closer to what it would have cost to replace almost the entire septic system which would have been unnecessary given that their were no other obvious problems with the existing system. Needless to say, we got a few other quotes and a reputable local contractor (Martin's Sanitation Services) did the job for $900 (5x less than what we were quoted by Roto-Rooter). That said, I understand that a quote is just that--a quote--and perhaps in the end the final cost could have been much less than said quote. However, let's be real--that was definitely an overestimate. Maybe it's better to quote high as a precaution but it was very easy to feel like it was an attempt to take advantage of a couple of young, first-time-homeowner newbies. Take note, pricey quotes seem to be a relatively common complaint in other reviews.

All in all, I felt that the plumber was friendly and professional, the repair performed at the time of service was satisfactory (although temporary due to the nature of the larger problem), and cost for an emergency call late in the evening/night was relatively reasonable, as far as plumbing jobs go. However, the quote that we received for the ultimate repair was totally bonkers (total cost of over $5,000 with the service call that night). Would I use Roto-Rooter again? For an emergency, perhaps...but I will certainly be shopping around before contracting any major work or repairs.

Jacob was quick, efficient, polite and professional. He diagnosed the issue and quickly remedied the issue and left our bathroom cleaner than he found it afterward. He worked with our homeowners warranty company and provided all pertinent information without question. He's truly an asset to Roto-Rooter. Worst service I have ever received. I was told $450 for the issue I had and it ended up being $800 to drive 20 minutes and fix a clogged drain. The technician told us to go outside and dig a hole to expose the pipe he needed to get to and he would consider charging us less.

Wow, I don't expect to write a rave review on plumbers but these ones are worth the effort. We had an upstairs shower disaster that caused a waterfall coming from the ceiling on the ground floor. We shut off the main but while still in panic-mode called the first 24 Hr Plumber that Google gave us. Kyle came to the house within an hour (it was 9:30 at night) and assessed the damage which is said was not bad enough to start ripping up until the plumber could come in the morning. He could have gone nuts and started destroying the downstairs but he suggested the conservative (and correct) approach.

John came early the next morning and solved a pretty weird problem with the bath spigot with a minimum of fuss. I was utterly impressed with his professionalism and helpfulness. Ever had a plumber where you said, Hey, I wouldn't mind hanging out we these guys?

I hope my business leaves as good an impression on our customers.

We had issues with our septic system and Tyler came for 2 days for 13 hours straight and resolved the problem. He was professional and thorough every step of the way. The second day another tech Brian, also came and continued with the same work ethic and professionalism until the problems were resolved and septic was fixed. They were both extremely knowledgeable and courteous. I would highly recommend these two gentlemen.

Our 50 gallon gas water heater died on a Friday after 12 years of service. Not many local plumbing options exist over the weekend, and we called Roto-Rooter Plumbing to see if they could help. From their 24 hour dispatcher, to their prompt scheduling--they stayed in contact with us until our technician could arrive the next day. Andrew (our technician) was both knowledgeable and professional. He informed our all our options and was able to anticipate other potential problems so that his repair time was minimized. The repairs were completed and at at a fair/competitive price. I would certainly recommend calling Roto-Rooter plumbing again to anyone who needed their assistance.

Quoted $300 per hour. That's ridiculous. I'm very suspicious of the positive reviews. The guy who came was very nice and all but a company that charges $300 per hour is unreasonable. I got a guy to do the job for $100.

THANK YOU Roto Rooter for coming to our rescue! I called Roto Rooter in the middle of the night when we discovered a leak in the master bath Jacuzzi faucet. My husband tried to fix It himself and we ended up with water shooting out of the faucet like a geyser. The only way to stop it was to shut the water off for the whole house. John came over at 1 AM and fixed everything in about 20 minutes. He even had the needed part on his truck. He was polite, efficient, and neat. I will absolutely recommend them and use them again.

We had been having sewer issues on our street. It got to the point where everything we did, laundry, dishes all came up in the bathtub. The toilet left us with at least 2 of water each time we flushed it. Thought we could fix it ourselves, wrong! So I got on the web and found Roto Rooter Plumbing in Lexington, Ky and requested service at 8:30a.m. By 9a.m., I received a phone call stating they were on the way! About 9:15a.m., Derrick pulled in our driveway, was totally polite and pumped out our sewer. He had us check to make sure all was fine before he gave us the bill! Yes, it was a little costly, but his sincerety, quickness of service and being able to have normal sewer functions was all that mattered. I have always gotten great service from Roto Rooter Plumbing, Lexington and will continue to use them.

The job was done exactly as explained and on time. My technician, Sean, was thoroughly professional and went out of his way to explain what he was doing and to complete his job with extra touches to make it both functional and attractive. The job was the installation of a backup water-powered sump pump in my basement drainage system. I will absolutely call them for future plumbing needs.

Daniel did a great job on fixing our leak. He was very nice and professional and he worked all day in the rain fixing the broken line coming in from the main, in spite of the builders installing the water meter and lines incorrectly and making his job harder. I would highly recommend him for any plumbing service.

Great Service if price or value are not factors. I called and spoke with customer service and asked what their hourly rates were. They said they do not charge hourly, but charge by the job. The plumber came out on time, as expected, and did a good job. He was there for two (2) hours and I was charged $700 labor plus materials of $100. Their hourly rate is $300++

Our kitchen sink was not draining and I spent the weekend, and then into Monday trying to fix the problem. I made a request for help via Roto-Rooter's convenient website and within an hour someone from their dispatch team had called me to indicate that Justin would be at our house within 30 minutes! When he arrived I showed him the sink and explained everything I had attempted to do to resolve the problem. After about 20 minutes with me and after trying to use his equipment to remove the stoppage he indicated to me that he would be calling in Dale and Brian who could clean out the wickedest drains, including this one! Justin was apologetic about being unable to perform the fix and I assured him that I appreciated his honesty and efforts. When Brian and Dale arrived they had already been given details on our problem and began working. It turns out that the stoppage was some 50 feet away from my sink drain! I would have never fixed this without their help. I'm so grateful for Roto-Rooter!

Called on a Sunday man came out said he would be back Monday at 7 to fix a water leak and he never showed or answered his phone. Company finally sent someone out at 3 pm. Totally unacceptable.

Exceptional experience with Roto-Rooter! What started out as a request to unclog our commodes, yet again, turned into the realization that we finally had to face the fact that our 80 year-old sewer system was in dire need of renovation. Roto-Rooter showed up promptly at the agreed start time, began prepping the work area for jack-hammering, and quickly discovered that our sewer line was in fact going slightly UPHILL! AND, that there was a break in an inside drainpipe. No wonder we had all those problems in the past! Justin and the gang devised an elegant solution, consulted with us, and presented their plan. We were on board because we wanted the problem finally fixed, and fixed well. The guys worked hard installing the new plumbing and new line, showed us what they were doing every day, and thoroughly cleaned up the work areas, both inside and outside, after they finished. I was having low water pressure in my bathroom sink. I wanted a second opinion after a previous plumbing company told me I needed all of my pipes replaced because they were rusted and eventually none of my plumbing would work. Tyler came and the only problem was a clogged aerator in my faucet. He was fast, professional and saved me from a lot of worry and a huge unnecessary expense. I would highly recommend.

I had saved-up a variety of plumbing tasks that were all things I could do, but would have been a serious pain to do myself: changing the wax rings on two toilets, fixing one leaky faucet, and installing a new dishwasher. The toilets had been installed with hard plastic supply lines, which I'm happy to say Manning (the plumber who did the job) replaced with flexible metal lines in addition to reseating the toilets. Some other people we've had do misc. repairs have definitely been oriented toward the good enough quick fix, but this fellow really seemed very focused on getting things set for the long term. Cost was not cheap, but not at all unreasonable for the work done.

I had a stopped up sewer line. Call Roto- Rooter they were at my place within about 2 hours. Tyler was a very kind and knowledge employee and had the problem fix and cleaning up in about an hour's time. I highly recommend this service.

Recently sprang a leak. Called Roto-Rooter and they were at our house with an hour of the call. Tech quickly found the problem, provided an estimate and completed work shortly afterwards. Price was reasonable and I was happy with the service. I would use them again if needed.

Our water heater developed a slow leak and I knew it was just a matter of time before we had serious problems. I called Roto-Rooter and they were very concerned about my problem and said they would get someone right out. Shaun arrived about 20 minutes later, quickly assessed the problem, explained my options and gave me a not to exceed estimate. He and his team were able to locate the one water heater in town that matched my requirements and made arrangements to pick it up and install it. He was extremely cordial and professional and did an excellent job on the installation, ensuring that my configuration now met current code. Tyler came to our house on time, had our clogged sink fixed in just a few minutes and was very thorough in making sure the problem was solved. He was upfront about the price before he got started. Andrew came out on a Sunday afternoon and worked on unclogging what turned out to be a tough clog in the main sewer line. I think he did a great job and would have given 5 stars except it was pretty expensive. (I wrote a longer review on Yelp.)

From scheduling online to the service performed everything was wonderful! It was easy to schedule and I was happy to see I could have a later day appointment. I received confirmation quickly and was even contacted earlier than my appointment to see if the technician could come earlier. The technician, Brian, was very professional and knowledgeable. It was a difficulty problem and he was able to fix it. He explained the issues to me and even made recommendations for future care in order to avoid it. Even when there was a mess from an overflowing sink, Brian cleaned everything up. The cost for the services was very reasonable. I would definitely recommend Roto-Rooter and will call them again if I need any plumbing service. I would even use them over my home warranty company.

I called Roto-Rooter and they sent out a technician right away to clean up our water damage. It took a little bit of time to get a plumber out here but when we did they were fantastic and extremely apologetic and explained the situation. We were extremely satisfied with the clean up technician, John, and with the plumbers, Andrew and Joshua. Andrew provided excellent customer service and diligence to fix our problem.

Roto rooter is the only plumbing company I will use. Their prices are fair, and their plumbers are honest. I've had the pleasure of working with Tristan, Brian, Dale and Tyler, and they have all gone above and beyond to ensure that any problems I have are fixed correctly, the first time. Last Wednesday, the day before Thanksgiving, I had a water main break under my foundation. They were there at 8 am and around 5 pm we realized there was secondary break farther up the line also under my foundation, they would not be able to fix that night. In order to make sure I had water they stayed 3 hours late to dig up my main line and connect it to my house directly, as a temporary fix until they could get back Friday morning and get to the secondary break. Friday morning they were back bright and early at 8 am, got to the secondary break and ran new pipe from there to the initial break and reconnected back into the house. They then back filled the holes they dug for temporary fix, filled in the holes from the 2 breaks, and relaid the concrete they had to jack hammer through to get to them, and they were done by 5 PM.

Roto-rooter is the only plumbing company I will use, and I cannot recommend them enough!

To be fair, there was nothing wrong with the quality of service and the technician was professional. It was also easy to schedule and we got someone out there quickly.

However, the price was outlandish. The technician installed a new sink drain that I had purchased at Lowe's, and ran a snake through the wall as a precaution (he never verified that the snake was needed, but I told him I thought it might be because that drain had been slow before the pipe broke). The job took 10 minutes of work, and we were charged $224. For those of you keeping score at home, that's $1344 per hour.

After the service I was solicited for a review that was supposed to be put on Google, but it never was. So my guess is the company is screening reviews and only posting positive ones, which perhaps explains the 4.6 star rating.

They repaired one of our hot water heaters today. I was impressed with their speed of service and honesty in recommending service on my heaters. Their many great Google reviews are well deserved. Go no further if you are in need of plumbing service. This is a solid business with honest, competent staff.

I had a few different issues in my house that I’m trying to sell. The gas company wouldn’t turn on the gas until a shut off valve was installed. Also I had a leaky shower and a busted ptrap in the bathroom. Tyler was here in a timely manner, I commend him on the gas shutoff, he didn’t feel comfortable so Brian came over and installed the shut off. Tyler rebuilt my entire shower and ptrap, he was clean, respectful and very knowledgeable! I would recommend Tyler any day! He also went out of his way to go to Lowe’s with me to pick out a shower kit that I liked! Very impressed!

I went online to find a plumber in Lexington to fix a drippy faucet. I found a few, and the reviews were iffy. Who knew Roto-Rooter - a nationally known brand - was also a plumbing service. I just always associated it with outdoor drain issues. I called them, and to my pleasant surprise, they could send someone out THAT DAY! That was the first star....and the others come from a courteous pair of guys, who not only fixed my dripping faucet, but asked if there was anything else they could help with while they were there. I had them look at a refrigerator whose ice/water had been turned off due to a leak that had damaged the floor below it, and stained the ceiling in the basement. They were able to pinpoint the problem (something a plumber before them had not been able to do). They attempted to fix it, but when they realized it was really a part of the fridge that needed to be fixed, they advised me they could not continue, and I should call an appliance repair person. For all of this - they charged me NOTHING. I paid for the drippy faucet repair only. I appreciate that SOOOOO much!

Our downstairs bathroom was flooding and there was sewage backup in our shower. Daniel Webb, our technician, was genuinely nice and extremelyknowledgable and helped us out beyond what we expected. We would call him again any day and know that he would take care of us.

At 9:00 am on Saturday morning I called rotor rooter because I had a leak under my bathroom sink By 11:00 AM they had arrived fixed the problem and was ready to leave.

I had an appointment for an independent plumber to be at my house at noon to replace my water heater. He hadn't showed by 12:30 and didn't answer my call or voice mail. At 12:50 I called Roto-Rooter, and Nick was at my house within 15 minutes.

He assessed the situation and took extra effort to purchase the water heater brand I wanted (mine had lasted 16 years, so I wanted the same brand). It cost more, but he didn't not increase the estimate or final cost.

Unfortunately, the new water heater's fittings did not align with the installed pipes. and the location of the T&P relief valve was different. This meant that the job required more pipe and fittings and a trip for parts. Instead of taking the easy route and using an obtrusive pipe at a 90-degree angle from the T&P valve, around the heater to the wall, he cut several lengths of pipe and used several elbows, so the pipe would lay close to the heater all the way around.

The crew was courteous, extremely professional and diligent, and very knowledgeable. This was my first call to a plumber during nine years in my house. It started off badly, but thanks to Roto-Rooter, Nick and James, it ended perfectly. I'm now thankful that the first plumber failed to appear (things happen for a reason, they say). I recently purchased a townhouse and it seemed to spring a few leaks at the connections after only a few days of owning. I woke up on a Sunday morning with a water heater mess. It had flooded my laundry room and office. I had no idea that Roto-Rooter handled this type of problem from beginning to end, but they did. They responded right away and had someone at my house in less than 30 minutes. It took several days before everything was dried out and safe again. Both guys that came to my house were extremely polite and professional.

We have a kitchen sink that has leaked and backed up off and on for years. Last week the situation became hopeless and we had to call a professional. Chase from RotoRooter was at our house within a half hour and quickly began assessing the situation. Unfortunately, as soon as he began to work, our electricity went out on the whole block and he had to wait for over an hour before he could get started. He was so nice and patient. He even offered to run and grab me lunch since I couldn't cook. Once the electricity came back on and he began to work, it became obvious that the problem was much worse than first thought. He tried several techniques, soaking himself with grime and crud from the pipes in the process. Chase worked for several hours by himself before having to call in reinforcements, who also arrived quickly and got straight to work. The problem was finally solved and they even cleaned up after themselves. My only complaint is that the price was a little higher than quoted, but the issue was fixed and it was a bigger job than expected. They did a great job and we really appreciated it!

They came to fix a clog and I appreciated knowing cost before they did work. I understand part of labor is equipment upkeep so I didn't think their price was outrageous. They showed me my line to the sewer with the See Snake which was reassuring.

After they fixed the problem they took the time to answer my questions about my house's plumbing. They explained things well. They recommended some things I should think about upgrading (1960s house) but also told me about sections that could wait. He wrote down everything - so I can compare to other estimates when I upgrade/remodel later.

Wanted to retract my previous post. I was not home the next day after work I had was done. When I returned the following day I discovered that the work I had roto rooter do was not very good. The problem was not fixed and the work was very sub par. Some of the parts installed were not properly installed. I had to have another plumber come out and fix this and actually fixed it installing more parts, etc. I might add the 2nd plumber did twice the products and service for half the price. I can only speak to my experience but I will just say lesson learned and will not ever consider Roto rooter again and would not recommend them at all

I cannot emphasize enough how wonderful our experience with Daniel was. I have just bought a house for the first time and called Roto-Rooter to see about getting a gas line prepped for a gas stove. While in the basement I noticed a puddle and a leak and then I was being faced with a huge amount of repairs I wasn't expecting to make within a week of owning this home. Daniel Webb was our plumber and he was such a hard worker, as well as kind and very empathetic. He worked so hard figuring out where to find the leak and did everything in his power to make cuts in hidden areas of the home. Had a leak on a copper pipe coming from my water heater. Called multiple places and when Roto-Rooter came to inspect and quote me the price. They knew I was in a rush to fix the issue. They quoted me 760 (660 for labor and 100 for parts) just to cut of corroded pipe and weld in another one. Got another company to do the exact same thing with less than 200.

Excellent technicians, very professional. They repaired a very bad septic tank discharge problem. Returned the septic tank to service better than new. There was a misunderstanding about the quoted price which could be made better by itemized action and related cost. This is the third time I have used them and their service has been excellent.

Tyler was very professional in his dealings. The first time he came, he replaced a toilet that had been in the house since 1960. He made sure I understood what the costs were to repair it vs. a replacement. He gave a very detailed explanation of what he was doing. Called early on Sunday morning and someone was at my house in 15 minutes! My kitchen sink drain was cleared shortly after the technician arrived.

I just moved into a house and come to find out the hard way that my flush out pipe had been bored through which caused sewage backup in my house. They came out and identified the issue and right away. Within 24 hours the mess was cleaned up thanks to the cleanup crew (Christian Cullip and Dana Deathridge). Called Roto-Rooter first thing in the morning to get a bathroom sink drain unclogged. Appointment was scheduled for late morning. We had a clog in the line from our upstairs bathroom. Josh came out and used the line tool and completely cleared the line. .He was very knowledgeable and friendly. After he finished, he took the time to clean the bathroom floor. We were given a 6-month guarantee as well. That is great service and we will definitely use Roto-Rooter in the future for our plumbing needs.

Slow running laundry drain that was overflowing on the washing machine rinse/spin cycle. Called early in the morning and Roto-Rooter was able to send a technician to us promptly within about 30 minutes. Problem solved and out in no more than an hour. We've been customers of Roto-Rooter from their early beginnings and long before all of the name copycat companies now in business. Rates are rather expensive but probably comparable with other like companies, even though I haven't checked. They did provide a senior discount.

We live in a very old house and have recurring drain problems in 'old' piping (those pipes that can't be replaced without great pains).
