We love our heating and ac replacement. They were very nice and professional. We also got our duct work cleaned they offered to replace our vent registers no extra charge and changed out our cross over to a metal instead of flex very professional and nice. The plumbing since we switched from gas to electric the came in before our electrian to remove our old water heater so our electrian would have space to work. They were very nice and professional about installing our water heater and when they had to fix a leaking pipe under the home.

If I was able to give less than a 1 star I would there service was horrible Fahnestock came to my home 4 times and every time it was someone saying something different also called the on call emergency line and they never answered back after they were at my home 2 days prior also have them on video saying if the heat blower is F××ked up not my problem and laughing I would never recommend this company and will be turning the video in to the BBB

I had some plumbing work done by Jeremy yesterday, and he was back today to put in a new sump pump with a backup system and a tankless water heater. He was awesome! Prompt and professional... what more can you ask for?

Professional and prompt but GREEDY!!! I already knew (and told them) it was the HVAC spark ignitor (HSI unit), which sells at retail for about $22. Their cost was a total of $255, which included diagnosis and the ignitor was priced thru them at $66. I replaced the ignitor last time and it took all of 20 minutes and the $20 cost to buy the new HSI. Here's what's wrong with America today!

What a great company! Quick to respond in an emergency situation! Jeremy came and fixed a clogged sink which he further discovered a broken and leaking pipe in our basement! I had to jump in again ..a year later and give another positive update...called on sweltering Sunday with Temps over 100 and the service tech arrived within 3 hours and had me cool again. 😊😊😊

I was pleased with the air conditioner replacement Fahnestock did for me. They were prompt in sending Larry out to provide me with a proposal, and I very much enjoyed interacting with him. He quickly answered any questions I had and provided me with good options and advice. There was about a 2 week wait to secure the coil needed for the install after the first one came damaged. The wait was not their fault, but I didn’t get as many updates as I had hoped throughout that time. However, Dakota arrived on time the day of the install and worked quickly and efficiently and left behind a quality install. I enjoyed working with him also. A supervisor stopped by at the end of the job to do a final quality check. It was a good experience all around and I’m happy to have A/C back!

Never had service from this company HOWEVER, my experience with two of their employees today says it all....

We were moving a piano out of our apartment in Newton. My dad saw two gentleman who were employees of Fahnestock and asked if they were interested in it. They politely said no, but immediately followed up with We'd be happy to help you move it though. Under no pretenses of gaining anything out of the scenario, these two gentleman helped us move a 500lb piano. (We compensated them after and they were very appreciative.)
Billy was one of the gentleman, I unfortunately didn't catch the name of the other gentleman but they were both so courteous and kind.
These men were so kind to us strangers, I can't imagine how wonderful they would be to paying customers!

James the technician was extremely helpful and got my HVAC unit up and running, even though this meant he had to run out and get me a new part after troubleshooting the issue. Afterwards, he took the extra time to answer my questions concerning my unit and guided me through programming.

Late on a Saturday my AC went out on a hot humid August evening. I called for service and left a message on the voicemail. Within 30 minutes I had a knock on my door and Abel got me fixed up and cooked off. I have the Gold Service plan and because of that the emergency weekend call was completely covered. Good service company, but with a LIAR as a salesman and an office who won't back the customer up. The service techs are great and have been nothing but helpful, but one of their salesmen, Tom, is a liar. I needed my coils replaced on my A/C unit and was told it was going to cost me $1k. Fine. The first thing I explained to Tom was that I was not in a position to pay that in full and could I make payments. He told me no problem and was trying to get me to agree to the service right away. I thought that was fair and agreed to the service. They came out the next day and did the job. I started paying them right away. However, I started getting calls and letters from them saying that I needed to pay in full right away. When I called them to tell them that Tom had told me I could make payments, they put me in touch with him and he acted like I was absolutely crazy. Now I didn't make up that I asked about making payments and I certainly would not have signed up for service that I couldn't afford outright. I told Tom that I was not able to pay in full, but that I would continue to pay them each month until I had paid it in full. He said fine, only to turn around and turn me in to a credit agency. I happen to know that this company is in financial trouble and was willing to lie to me to get me to sign up for service only to turn around and demand the money in full. I will NEVER use this company again and will tell as many people as I can not to. That is however long they are still around.

Bought a furnace and AC. A year later I got their letter in the mail stating I had a free service checkin. They got me in the same day that I called and the service tech they sent out was super helpful and informative just like the first at the consultation. Highly recommend!!

I just had two young fellas out here working from 8AM until 4:30PM on replacing my old school crap central heat/air unit with a new one. They were efficient, knowledgeable, and extremely friendly and fun to work with. As a stay-at-home mom, they were stuck dealing with me and my two young children for the whole day and were very considerate about keeping the kids out of harms way and were very friendly with them as they stood around and asked them a million questions. They were especially patient with my son as he informed them of the ins and outs of The Lord of the Rings for what seemed like forever. They continued to work the entire time, but were kind enough to seem interested in what he was saying. I don't even think they took a break (which now I feel bad for not offering them lunch), but they worked hard and got the job done! They ran into a few issues considering how outdated our home is, but they seemed to have no problem with problem-solving and working through it. Obviously, it'll be some time before we know if there are any issues in how the job was done...but I can say that I don't think we will be back here with anything negative to report! I believe that the work reflects the people, and these were just a couple of real good guys, so I'm certain they did real good work!!! :) Good working with you, Fahenstock. Wish I knew the names of the fellas that came out here today...I'd advise you to give them a raise (or at least a free lunch!). :)

Brady and Elliot arrived, assessed the situation and quickly replaced the unit. Can't say enough about the speed and service and everyone at my house is thankful to have a hot shower today.

Chris Straub was particularly helpful with his familiarity of the new ecobee wi-fi thermostat that was installed under our service agreement. I was a little disappointed in the fact that in my call to set up service I was told they would call prior to coming to my house- they didn’t. I was told we would be first on the list from 8-10... the technician showed up at 9:45 and then was at my house until 10:30. I was quoted a price of service and then was charged extra due to the size of the filter. I was never asked about the filter prior to service. I felt that everything I was told prior to service was a lie. I called to talk about the issues and felt like they really didn’t care.

Jeremy was our plumber today. He was efficient and very quick.

I had numerous plumbing issues in my home and contacted several businesses for quotes. Fahnestock plumbing was very professional, understanding, responsive and worked with me on payments. Braden was the employee that came to my home, provided a quote and even did some necessary repairs while there. He was very knowledgeable, polite and didn't waste any time getting the work done and getting out which saved both time and money. I will definitely use them again if needed. It’s a relief to have knowledgeable people working on my system. It’s geothermal and not many companies are up to speed on what’s involved and how to fix them. I’ve also have them install on-demand HW heater. Great service!

I am a project manager for a National Design build firm and we had a project in the Wichita area. During the design phase we called local subcontracotrs and ask them if they are interested in providing us proposals for all their indivdual trades that are needed (in this case the HVAC, Plumbing, and Electrical) and only place the names of the ones that indicate that they are interested. After the design is complete and the construction documents are permit ready, we contact them again and ask if they are still interested as well as ask for contact or estimator name (in this case Dave) and then we send a bid package with complete drawings which at that point they should be expecting. The package went out on the 16th of June with a request that their proposals are provided to us by the 30th of June. As of yet we have recieved nothing, so I called yesterday and was told Dave was not available. So I left him a message on his voicemail to please call and/or email me/us to let us know if they were still interested and going to send a proposal. No return call from Dave so I called this morning and left another message and once again, no return call. So I called this afternoon and indicated to the receptionist lady why I was calling and that Dave still had not returned my calls concernig our project which was close to permit ready and would be breaking ground in the next three weeks. She very rudely (in a no duh !!! manor) indicated that obviously if he had not returned my call they were not interested. Very un-professional, all that was needed was a call/email stating that they did not have the time and desire for a $400,000 +/- (combined electrical/hvac/plumbing portion) project and I would not have wasted any more of their and more important my time. Courtesy goes a long way in this business.

My thermostat was stuck this morning and the house was cold. I could not figure it out even with the manual. Zack from Fahnestock was fantastic in helping me to get the furnace to turn back on!

I'm an easy-going guy and not hard to get along with. I give most everyone the benefit of the doubt, but expect to be treated fairly and with respect and common courtesy. I called for service on a Wednesday because I couldn't get my regular A/C tech to clean my unit. I specifically asked for a cleaning of my unit as well as to check to see why it was short-cycling. The cleaning was more important to me. The Fahnestock representative told me they would come out the following Monday Afternoon. I received a call from their office slightly after 4 P.M. on Monday and they advised me that they could not do a 'spring service' and clean my unit, that they would have to schedule another service call for that but they still wanted to come out and check to see why I was getting a 'no cool' whatever that means. Whoever I spoke with was rude to me and cut me off. I tried to tell her I specifically needed a cleaning and she told me that she wasn't going to argue with me and then rudely asked me 'do you want us to come out or not?' I am getting cold air, it just shuts on and off repeatedly. I am sure it's because the unit needs cleaned. I don't understand why they didn't listen to begin with and why the office help had to be so rude. I was only trying to give them my business and they treated me poorly. I can't do business with them for this reason, so I cancelled the service call. I would not recommend this company to anyone.

Just now I'm waiting until 8 for someone to ring back and sell me, on sale, an air conditioner and a furnace......Just in the past two or three months I've acquired two new sump pumps, had the furnace given a temporary lease on life.....They're great, all of them. The voice of the lady who answers the phone alternately makes you forget why you called or encourages you to buy one of everything....

I was told by another company with whom I had a service contract that I probably needed a new system and at the very least a new heat exchanger. The part was under warranty but labor was not and would cost $800 to install. Colt with Fahnestock came out to give a quote on a new system and decided to check mine since he'd never seen an exchanger crack. He found that someone had turned the gas pressure valve all the way open which was causing the other problems. He adjusted that and things have worked fine. I commend him for checking it out and not just trying to sell me a new furnace. Integrity is rare anymore and Colt has it in spades! Thanks Colt as you saved me lots and lots of money!!!

Our Furnace went out and we had to call one of the Techs on a weekend. He arrived on time, checked the furnace and informed us that there was nothing wrong. He then politely explain it was more than likely our thermostat. He was able to test it and install a new one in no time

I built a brand new house and made the error of using Fahnestock for all three trades, electrical, plumbing and hvac. I was charged for the “construction meter” by Fahnestock, but they never called it in to get it inspected so the entire house was built without electricity. The builder had to bring in generators to charge their tools because Fahanestock refused to get electricity (the pole and wires were already installed by the electric company prior to the building going up). Then, they refused to hook up the heater in the middle of winter, so I couldn’t get flooring or cabinets installed (contractor was worried the cold would bow the wood)and the sheetrock crew had to bring in propane heaters so they could get the mud to dry. The plumbers tried to refuse to hook up the shower drain for the master bath, and the water pressure is now non-existent. I have livestock and it takes over an hour to fill water tanks every other day. When it came time for the final inspection, the house FAILED final inspection because of how the wiring went from the house to the attached garage. Had to hire another company to come make it right. The other company also walked thru and noticed that I was over charged for outlets, fixtures etc and gave me a list totaling about $3,000 of overages. I had to email Fahnestock and they pretended that I hadn’t been sent a copy of the “change order” and lowered my final billing on electrical. I was quoted for sinks with plumbing, and ended up providing my own and they refused to lower the cost of the plumbing. Three months after the house was completed I had to email and ask for the final bill for hvac, they originally told me I was completely paid then less than 24 hours later sent me a bill for another $3000 that they had “forgotten” to send. And now, 4 months after moving in, when I try to use a hair dryer in my master bathroom it flips the breakers. During the only walk through we had, I was told I would get to move in before Christmas by the Fahnestock rep, but ended up not getting to move in until May, and my building permit had expired by then. I’m very unhappy with the work.

My AC went out on a Friday and called to schedule first available appointment which was on Monday at 8:00 AM. My service tech Wayne diagnosed the issue within 10 minutes of being here. He was very good and helpful. He even found a hole in my duct work that needs repair. Last year I had another company come out and the tech, to be fair, was new and was not helpful at all. I will definitely be calling back for any future needs.

I was employed by this company and while on maternity leave they decided they were going to fill my position with no notice. Unprofessionally decided they found a reason to write me up on my first 30 min of returning to work after 6 weeks. Very unprofessional treatment from what was supposed to be a business.

Very quick to send someone out to give us a quote. The gentleman that came to our home was professional, knowledgeable, and easy to talk to. While we ultimately went with someone else for the job, we were pleasantly surprised by their prices.

I would not recommend this company to anyone. The technician that came to our home was extremely unprofessional, and the service department representative was not much better. We were informed that we would be charged $225 for parts and labor, when the part itself is $30 and the technician said it would take no longer than 5 minutes to install. Even the service rep said it would only take 30 minutes from arrival to departure. This doesn't include the $79 call-out charge to diagnose the problem. We will definitely be utilizing the services of a different local company that values fairness and customer service, and will encourage our friends and family to do the same.

The salesman we talked to was Tom Balbierz. He was knowledgeable and friendly and we had a very good experience with him. The installers were also outstanding. They worked very hard for about six hours in less than ideal weather conditions. So far, we are happy with the product, although based on our first bill, I'm not sure we got the savings that I expected. It might have been the weather conditions in the month of December and we'll need to see a few more bills to get a better picture. The one (very minor) complaint I have concerned financing options. Nothing in that regard was really explained to us and after a couple of attempts to learn what our options might be, I was left with the impression that there were no options and that we needed to pay the cash upfront. This wasn't a problem as we have a low-interest credit card I could charge it to which I intended to use anyway, but it would have been nice to have gotten that spelled out earlier in the process. Overall, thank you for an excellent experience.

If I could give a zero star review, I would. We attempted to schedule on appointment on May 31st for a week and a half in advance. When we called to confirm our appointment the day of, they had no record of it. Fahnestock also failed to have a technician that can do both HVAC and electrical like they claimed over the phone the first time (the reason it had to be scheduled a week and a half out). Then to said make up for it, they could send someone out between 1 and 5 the same day as our first scheduled appointment, and we didn't hear anything from them until 5:15 and couldn't make it until 5:45. Sat all day at home all afternoon waiting for nothing. Not an acceptable way to run a business.

Dishonesty loses customers.

I find this company to be more capable than most in town and a lot more customer oriented. They are good with complicated issues and are priced right in line with the rest of the top providers in town.

Have had a maintenance contract for about 15 years or more and they are always on time and provide great service; this last time the tech noted a leak in the pipe downstairs and that same day a plumber came out and fixed it. I have the Gold plan. I called Sunday afternoon. Nick was quick to respond. I had a condenser fan that was old and the bearings wore down which was tripping the breaker. Nick diagnosed and repaired in good time and my AC is working good again.

Old unit 28 yrs old, did a lot of researching and had several free consultations. Of all footwork to making our investment, we were the most impressed with Fahnestock, a Carrier unit.
The sales rep Colt Oberle came out immediately on a Thursday and began assessing our needs. Without any dog & pony show, trying to sell top units, and speaking a/c language that we could not understand, he offered us a Carrier unit, approximately $1,200 cheaper than others, who just did not make that same impression as Colt.
The following Monday, Fahnestock had us up and running with a new heater / air condition unit installed by the most professional, organized and curtious installers.
It was a shop around investment that we walked away from feeling confident with our Fahnestock choice and will always recommend them.

New Lennox HVAC install in November 2022. 2 stage heater and AC. This is our second system installation with Fahnestock. We worked with Tom Balbierz as our sales associate. He was very knowledgeable about the systems and took the time to answer all of my questions thoroughly. I especially appreciated he was not pushy and trying to sell me more than I needed. The installers worked efficiently and also walked me through what work they were doing and any issues they ran into. Afterwards, they cleaned up the work area and trained me on the new system. The install took one work day to complete with minimal inconvenience to our family. Very happy with the quality of this company's work.

The service technicians always do a very good job in taking care of my heat pump and inside heating/air conditioning unit. My unit is about 5 years old but when the heat pump compressor went out, Fahnestock replaced the compressor and loaned a unit to me so I could have air conditioning. Very good company ans I highly recommend the company.

I just had a new sump pump and a back-up sump pump with a maintenance free battery installed by Billy Sherman whom is the best plumber I ever had come to our home. He was so conscientious, clean and thorough covering every aspect of the complete job. He was amazing!!! I also have had Fahnestock for 30 years for heating and air conditioning with excellent service, but just found out they do plumbing, as so glad they do!!!

Had an issue with my AC unit, small leak and coils frozen over. Our tech, Dylan, was super helpful and knowledgeable. Made quick work of it all and restored cold air that was needed!

Some 5 years ago I had Fahnestock install a state of the art Ground Source heating and cooling system from Climatemaster in a new home as it was being built. It has been efficient and trouble free... until this past May 25th. About 9 pm on Friday, May 25th the unit quit working... which happens from time to time, I understand this. I called on Saturday, May 26th and spoke with the service tech who was on call about the problem, and we went through the things I'd already done to try to correct the problem... making sure breakers hadn't been thrown, confirming proper air flow across the cooling coils, and discovering there was any voltage flowing to the ground source circulating pump. Our best guess was a faulty circuit board. Since it was the beginning of the Labor Day Weekend and it wasn't unGodly hot, I told him I'd wait to have a tech come out so I wouldn't be messing up someone's Labor Day Weekend with my problem. On Tuesday, May 29th I called as soon as Fahnestock opened and made my request for service and was told the earliest it could be looked at was on the afternoon of Friday, June the 1st. So much for a prompt service call, but okay... it's till doable and I'm not dying from the heat. The serviceman who came out was EXTREMELY polite and very thorough... and he made the diagnosis of a blown circuit board. It was getting on towards later in the afternoon and he didn't know if the part would be ordered on Friday. We talked about having the part shipped in using an express service to get this unit back up and running, and he said he'd mention it to the powers that be at Fahnestock... and that someone should be in contact with me. Well, no contact... so it's now Wednesday June 6th, so I called and talked to ... I believe the scheduler... who said it looked like the part might be in on Friday, June 8th. So much for Fahnestock or Climatemaster caring about the customer enough to use expedited shipping! I was told that the tech would be sent back out as soon as the part arrived.. so I'll keep you posted as to when that occurs and when the unit is actually repaired. On Friday this unit will have been down for TWO WEEKS... and there doesn't seem to be a sign of a hurry to get it back up and running. This is probably what you can expect if purchase a Climatemaster ... and use Fahnestock as the contractor? I don't know why your experience would be any different than mine. Again, I'll repost more results as they happen. I can't say I'm overjoyed at this point, and it's getting hotter. Good Luck!

Fahnestock tech who came to see our AC did not even check that the filter had been put in the wrong direction. This is my second bad experience with them in less than a year. Previously, their tech could not fix the tripping of HVAC and did expensive diagnostics which did not solve the problem. So I talked to a handyman who asked me Did he check the switch connection?. He had not. So the handyman just tightened the connection and it has not tripped since then (eight months ago).

They were on time actually headed time I really appreciate that and he told me honestly what I need to do next for my sink it wasn't fixed but you told me what I need to do and I can call him back up and gets a discount on my next faucet and then he unclogged my toilet much appreciated

First of all, the service was timely and professional. I understand that a company has to make money to stay in business and I'm okay with paying what is fair. The $79.00 service call was reasonable. My problem is being less than honest about the cost f materials. We needed to have a furnace igniter replaced. We were charged $205.00 for a part that retails between $20.00 and $5.00, with most being closer to the lower price. I'd actually rather be charged more for the service call or labor, than be charged 1000% more for a standard part that I could have picked up at any supply house.

Casey was quick to respond when I reached out about installing a new A/C system and was friendly and knowledgeable in what was best for our home. He checked in a few times to see if we have questions on our options provided and made sure we had taken initial steps to ensure our home was ready for a new system (we had the wrong amp in our breaker box). We didn’t even get other quotes because we knew we had found the right company to work with.

Fast forward about 3 weeks after he first gave us the quote/acceptance (time for supplies to come in / get on the schedule), the install crew was just here 2 days ago to complete the job. The two guys showed up on time, wonderfully friendly, didn’t mind our barking fur babies, worked in the rain a bit and helped to make sure we knew everything about our new system, and even installed and setup our new smart thermostat. They even lined our floors and stairs with drop cloths to make easy cleanup for them, and worry free for me. I can’t recommend enough - I work from home so I’m always a bit leery with how it will go having an install crew / repairman here with me, can’t be too careful. But these guys (wish I had their names) were so wonderful and made it a stress free and quick to get our new HVAC system ready before the Kansas heat gets here! Our house is now cool, more energy efficient, and has the right size system for our square footage!

I gotta say, this was the fastest and fairest treatment I have had from any company in Wichita for a while. I called them at 3:42pm saying my heater wasn't blowing hot. They were here by 4:21 pm. Less than 40 minutes. Our technician Craig was helpful and polite. He got our heater fixed in 40 minutes. I called at 342pm and my heater was working by 5pm. AND to top it off the price was extremely fair. 3 huge positives. Fast service, friendly service, and fair price. You simply can't beat that.
