I've used Security Plumbing in past - from the time I was living in my condo. I've always been able to get an appointment within a day or two and was satisfied with their repairs and prices.
However, I've had to call them twice in the last five months or so and I haven't been pleased. The first time was to repair the drain in the shower. They had to look for the proper stopper because the tub was not a common design. I called the contractor who remodeled my house and they referred me to the website of the manufacturer of the stopper. I sent the correct email to Security Plumbing. A week went by, then a month, a month and a half, and nothing. I finally ordered the part myself and told Security Plumbing I got the stopper so please send someone to replace it. They sent someone over and it was done fairly quickly.
On a recent occasion, I wanted grab bars placed in the shower. They sent someone to take measurements so they could order the grab bars. I waited about 5 weeks without hearing back from them so I called them back. I was told that they were hesitant to send someone because they weren't sure what kind of studs were used. And there was an issue if their stud finder could find where the studs were placed since there's an enclosure. I called the contractor and was told that the studs were wood, not metal (it seems metal is more common nowadays). I told Security Plumbing. They were able to find a plumber on stuff who was confident that he find the studs and drill through the enclosure without damaging anything. An appointment was made and the gentleman came down. He was able to find the studs (they were placed the standard 16 inches apart) and suggested ways he could drill the holes to attach the grab bars. He would send me an estimate and if I agreed, they could make an appointment.
After waiting five weeks, I called again. A woman answered and said the supervisor would call me make in a couple of minutes. I had to call back later and said they would call back in a few minutes. I waited two more days and called again. I finally talked to the gentleman and was told that he would call me in a couple of minutes before he leaves for the day. It's been about a week and no call.
I should have learned me lesson the first time. I'll look for another plumber. The only reason I am giving Security Plumbing three stars is because of the excellent work they've done before. I worked with Brandon, the owner, about six or seven years ago and he was great. Can't say the same thing for some of his employees.
