Very Professional but seems expensive. Tim’s pros did a great job of fixing the problem and providing a solution. I would definitely use them again. It would be nice to have them provide a contractor or various to finish the drywall.

Tim responded immediately to my text messages after 8 in the evening and showed up the next day, quickly estimated the work and upon receipt of deposit got started. He was not cheap but the work seems top notch and he was extremely prompt and easy to deal with.

Had a pipe leak in the basement...on a Saturday. Called and two hours later (exactly at time quotes) they showed up and fixed the leak. Friendly and professional.

Tim Chen Plumbing was recommended to me by a neighbor. I needed to replace a gas water heater that was beyond its useful life, and my condo had unique guidelines that needed to be followed. Tim and his employees were very responsive, professional, and quick. It was one of the best service experiences I’ve received - highly recommended.

We used Tim Chen Plumbing again, this time to repair a leak and to unclog a drain. Once again, their work was excellent. As they have been in the past, Tim was very responsive and very responsible about being on time and keeping in touch. His two plumbers were on time and were super careful about cleanup. We called Chen plumbing on a Sunday and were so fortunate Tim came out within a few hours. He immediately found and cleared the issue as to why our sewage had backed up in basement. Within 48 hrs for permanent fix, he quarterbacked a big dig 12 ft deep in the front yard and repaired faulty pipe connections compromised by roots. Smart, honest, hardworking, fair priced. No better plumber!!!!!

Tim’s service was excellent! Our hot water went out - we contacted one of the big name companies only to be put on a wait list. It took them three days to come. That company didn’t want to do the work as they would have to get into the crawl space to replace our heater.

Tim and his crew are great. I had a problem with outbound pipes that resulted in basement flooding. He came quickly (within 24 hours) and allowed me to observe his diagnostics, including viewing the camera displays of my pipes. I got a quick, reasonable quote. He had his team out to conduct the work the next day. He even fixed other issues related to my sprinkler system and clearing out pipes that were technically in city domain (so I didn’t have to deal with Atlanta city bureaucracy). My problem was solved quickly, the cost was reasonable, Tim was easy to work with, and I have all positive and no negative feedback. I’m really happy to have found a good plumber. You will be too!

Would not recommend. Cancelled multiple times before finally arriving and doesn't seem to understand some very basic plumbing issues that other plumbers consider routine.

This is my 3rd time using Tim Chen plumbing service. I have been impressed each time. My water heater blew out and flooded the basement over the weekend. I received a call back from my message and was setup for 8:30 am Monday. The crew showed up at exactly 8:30 and went straight to work. They had it replaced and all cleaned up within 2 hrs. The Piping work looks fantastic and my family is very happy to be taking warm showers again. Thank you!

This guy is a con man with no ethics. He quoted me one price $395 then got the toilet off and told me it would be $995 to continue. And that was just to do the diagnostic! Even the guys doing the work agreed it was shady and way over-priced. When I told him I was going to report him to the BBB and not to continue he texted me that he was going to put a lien on my house because I didn’t pay. Never did I even threaten not to pay the $395 and yet he pulled that kind of threat out as if it was common practice. I was shocked.
And by the way , the toilet still won’t drain into the septic.

Had a bit of a plumbing emergency. Tim was incredibly responsive and got Victor out to our place in a couple of hours (on a weekend). Turns out the job was complicated and Tim came to help. They got it fixed and made sure everything was running well and did a very nice job cleaning up. Cannot say enough good things on responsiveness, value and quality/professionalism

I had a non-emergency plumbing issue on Sunday. I texted Tim Chen at 11:45am Monday and he was there in less than an hour. Super professional, courteous and efficient. Tim and his colleague Victor relocated about 190 feet of water supply line. Due to some illegal development close to my property line a few years ago my pipe failed last week and began leaking. Tim came out the next day to help me put together a plan. He listened very well and helped me work through options. He had a quote to me in a few hours. He had Victor and a helper there the next morning. Victor walked over the job with me as well to make sure we were in sync.

He wasn't the cheapest bid but his professionalism and my friends recommendation helped him get the business. I'd use him again in a flash.

Tim was great to do business with, able to get my water heater installed , in addition to replacing 2 leaking shut off valves, the day after I called, and his employees performed the job professionally and did a great cleanup before leaving. His pricing is fair and the quote he gave me over the phone was exactly what I paid, no surprise add on fees! Highly recommended!

My water heater was leaking and to my surprise someone was at my house in 30 minutes and fixed my leaky PRV in another 30 minutes! I love how simple and quick the whole process was. All I had to do was text in a photo of what I found leaking and they did the rest of the work for a reasonable price. I will be recommending and using Chen Plumbing in the future!

In order to do an urgent repair, a different plumber (with whom I have a service contract) told me I would have to call the City water dept to have the main water shutoff valve replaced at the street because it was frozen, so the repair could not be done until the City replaced the valve.

The City said it would take 10 days to do an inspection and another 45 days to repair the valve if needed.

A friend suggested I call Tim Chen. I texted him at 8 pm and by 8:30 am the next day the repair was completed—no problem shutting off the water.

I called Tim and 2 other plumbers to get quotes for replacing my water heater. After asking me some questions about my old water heater Tim gave me a quote over the phone. He thoroughly explained the removal and installation process and after seeing pictures of my heater he assured me there would be no surprises. On the day of the install, Tim's plumber, John arrived on time, completed the removal and installation in about 2 hours, and left the work area as clean or cleaner than when he arrived. I am in property remodeling . Tim has helped me with many projects, whether plumbing an addition or clearing a drain he is always fair on pricing and very responsive. When clearing drains he has cameras to examine the pipe , most plumbers don:t have them or have to rent the equipment . Most recently my client had a break at the meter , his crew got there same day and made repair. customer only out of water 4 hours.

Our water heater died suddenly this morning- I called Tim Chen and got quote(s) for options and advice back quickly via text. They were able to come in the afternoon, haul away our old unit and install a brand new 50 gallon unit for a very fair price. Highly recommend!

A neighbor recommended Chen Plumbing, so we had them come
to our house to advise on pressure issues we were having. They quickly identified and corrected the issues. We also had them fix our outdoor faucets since they were already here. Now everything works like new. We are very happy with the result.

Does not stand by his work. Tim Chen recommended a $4,000 system, that all experts now agree should not have been recommended for our home. In addition, 3 defects in installation, or parts were found, and he wanted to charge me more money to come back and fix his initial installation and have the system operate as sold. Since Installation there was a water leak, finally after 3 months I had to engage another plumber to fix the leaking pipe/defective part that is warranted, but I had to pay to fix it, as the original plumber has to process the warranty item. Out another $323. DO NOT USE HIM.

This company did a total replacement of my home plumbing. Tim was quick to respond to my initial request for a quote to repair a few leaks and was helpful to help me understand my problems were bigger than I realized without ever being pushy to do more than I had originally called about. I decided to go with a total re-pipe, got other quotes and Chen’s was the most reasonable by far. He sent Victor and his crew for the job. They arrived exactly on time, finished within 8 hours and completely cleaned up after themselves. Victor reviewed all they had done and demonstrated everything was working. Very professional.

We needed washer supply lines moved to an adjacent wall and supply lines and a drain added for a laundry tub. Mr. Chen was quite responsive via text. He sent a 2 man crew out to do the work and they completed it in 3.5 hours, something that would have taken us every hour of our weekend. They laid down canvas to protect the floors and cleaned up when they were done. It was a pleasure to have them do the plumbing for our laundry room renovation!

I started texting with the company in the afternoon yesterday, and they were extra responsive. Very detailed about who was coming to do the repair and when, which I find a nice touch during the pandemic. Theyassessed the situation and gave a quote with a fair price quickly. The work was done much faster than I expected and advice was given for the future including how to do some things on our own. Tim came out the day after I called. Didn’t charge me to look at the problem and fixed my septic issue for under $500. Another company wanted to charge me to come out and said it would be around 1800 to fix. I highly recommend Tim, good guy!

Found a leak in my water heater on a Saturday morning…have used Tim Chen years ago so I went to website, sure they were closed and prepared to pay big bucks for a Saturday call. Not only were they open, they answered the phone, looked at photos I sent, and directed me how to turn off leak (hot water circulator leaking). Likely I don’t need a new water heater, but when I do, Tim Chen will get the job!

Hot Water Heater

Tim’s crew arrived on time, worked quickly and efficiently, and replaced my ‘dead’ water heater for exactly the amount he quoted over the phone yesterday. Very professional and courteous, and they completed the job less than 24 hours after my initial call. Tim was recommended by a friend who had this same exact experience with Tim Chen Plumbing.

Tim Chen's staff member was very knowledgeable. He knew exactly how to diagnose the problem and fix it. He wore a face mask and was in and out in half an hour. When the fix for our tub leak was easier than expected, our price was reduced accordingly. I felt like I was treated very fairly and will recommend Tim Chen's team to my neighbors!

I spent A LOT of money to get all the leaks in the finished basement utility room fixed. However, the hose from the ice machine on the main floor is still leaking because the way the Chen Plumbing team installed one of the pipes forces the water to go uphill. The ice machine does not have a pump. It's designed to drain through gravity. Therefore, the cold water just sits in the hose and causes condensation that then leaks on the floor. When I called and told them there was still a leak, Chen Plumbing came back out and said they cannot fix it. However, they are the ones that raised the drain pipes to the wrong height to begin with. Save your money and peace of mind, and look for another company. These guys are too expensive for the quality of work that they do.

Tim and his crew pulled through in what for me was an emergency situation, a clogged sewage line. They were fast and tidy and gave me a very fair price. My neighbors all recommend Tim and so do I

Our waste water line backed up into our basement. Ugh! Tim Chen came out promptly and determined that the blocked section of the line (tree roots had infiltrated the concrete connector between the cast iron and the Orangeburg pipe) needed to be repaired. Tim did his best to alleviate the blockage temporarily, saving us, both seniors, a lot of pain and distress and then replaced the entire line between the house and the DeKalb Co sewer.

We were fully apprised of our options and the costs at all times.a Our yard was restored as much as possible, given the work that was done, to its original condition. We will have to resod to some degree and replace two small bushes which were almost directly above the line.

We could not be more pleased with Tim and recommend him highly.

Called Tim and was able to come out the same day. He’s very responsive and knowledgeable. He diagnosed the problem and offered multiple solutions. I would definitely use him again and would definitely recommend him to others.

Tim and his team are who you need to use every time, but especially when you are in a pinch! They were booked all day when I had an emergency, but regardless, they were at my door within 1 hour of my phone call to them.

They truly care for their customers and it shows in their urgency, timeliness, and attention to detail and description in detail when they are on-site.

I hope to not run into to plumbing issues in the future, but I do hope to run into Tim and his team again!

Shame on Tim Chen! He took advantage of my 86 year old landlord! He charged him $5000 to replace the old pipes for PVC. I understand this is expensive that is not the problem. The problem is he tore up the lawn on both sides of the driveway and he tore up the driveway! There is a 3 foot wide and high gravel pile which used to be the driveway. I can't even drive over it! When I asked him about the damage he states not my problem! Now my landlord has to replace the entire driveway! Karma will get you one day Tim Chen!

1968 house, original galvanized pipe, finally busted like so many in my neighborhood have before me. Of course in middle-of-the- night before weekend! Dekalb Cty watershed came, turned off water and said its on our side, by 2 inches. Texted Tim and he immediately called me back, 7:30 am. Came right away. Quoted me job and began or asap. By 3:45 pm all work was complete. CLEAN SMOOTH TRENCH! Re-Fillled it beautifully. He an his crew Re-ran the water line as well, so as to pevethvin to destroy the front porch were original line runs under to get into the house. Smart, reliable, freely, and very easy to work with. Highly recommend!! We will call on him for all our indoor/outdoor plumbing needs now.

Supposedly repaired downstairs sink that was dripping. One week later the hot water side started pouring. Came back out, claimed the faucet was too old (15 years old, at most) and that part no longer exists. Now the cold water side is pouring out. If the faucet was too old, as they now claim, why didn't they say that at the first visit??? Ridiculous.

Tim Chen and his team were professional, responsive and friendly throughout the process of replacing all the outdated and leaking pipes in my crawl space. Not an easy job I'm sure. Yet Tim Chen Plumbing's crew, lead by Victor, made short work of it, completing the job in 1 day! Amazing! I really appreciated the fact that we didn't have to go overnight without a functioning commode. Clean up was also very good. They cut up and neatly piled the big bush they had to excavate along my property curb for trash pick up. Overall, the whole experience was great and not as stressful as I expected. That's a big plus for a homeowner like me who has limited experience with major home repair like this.

Unable to leave zero stars, but that is what he deserves.

Tim charged us $650 to clean out pipes in our home to address a leak in our crawl space from the outflow to our septic. My wife told him we had a septic system several times and asked if blowing the pipes into the septic would be a problem. He said no, but magically we now have a septic problem, Tim came back and said they were unrelated but wanted $1200 to empty our septic tank. He told me we needed to hook up to the sewer and he could do that for $20000 but would first require $300 for a firm quote. he also charged me $350 to dig a hole. When I suggested that the first problem might be related to the second problem, he said he didn't know we had a septic system. Very unprofessional, and I feel I have been ripped off. When I told him that I would like my last $350 back, he said I had agreed to pay him $1200 to pump my septic tank (untrue) and that I actually owed him money. Call anyone else.

I’ve hired Tim’s company twice, once to install a tankless water heater, second time to fix a waste pipe clog and install a new garbage disposal, new pipes under the kitchen sink and house, and a vent. His guys are very professional and nice; they make very clear ahead of time during the initial quote what work will be done, what it will cost, and they do great work. Some things I value in tradesmen since we’re paying for it is good clean work, making my life easy, and doing the job in a reasonable timeframe. Both times they were minimally intrusive, fast, and respectful. Highly recommend this company.

I needed the stack coming out of our water heater fixed AND my kitchen faucet broke. I called Tim on a Saturday and after sending a couple photos of what I needed done, he gave me a reasonable quote and had his team out to my house in Decatur within 30 mins! The guys were professional - without even me asking, they wore masks the whole time and took their shoes off before coming inside. This safety measure was so appreciated, as I have a 3 month old baby at home. The guys had both jobs done (replacing kitchen faucet and fixing water heater stack) within 30 minutes. From call to completion was an hour. Will absolutely use them again!

I got a quote from the first company who had visited my home , and then got a quote from Tim Chen, who had performed this service for my neighbor. I have used Tim Chen Plumbing for many years. He has always done excellent work. He is on time for appointments and communicates any changes. I would recommend using his company for any plumbing problem.

Tim and his guys were great. As soon as we showed them the issue they got to work assessing the problem and running tests to see where the leak was coming from.

As soon as Tim found the leak he explained to us the issue, the process he recommended to fix it, and the cost upfront. At no point did I feel like I was being upsold, I was just getting exactly what I needed from an honest assessment. He checked out two other noisy toilets and within 4 hours had all my toilets and piping fixed.

I will be calling Tim for all my plumbing issues while I have a home in the Atlanta area.

Tim came to replace our sewer drainage line. He was recommended to us by a friend who is a customer of his. He did it quick and clean. Solid work.

We have called Tim for multiple plumbing projects of varying size and complexity. He is always quick to respond (even texts me while he's in the middle of things!), the price is very competitive, and the final product is always exactly what we want- PERFECT!

Tim and his team are great! We just bought a 12 year old house and immediately noted low water pressure in the 30s. The water company came out and found a leak in a water pipe going into the house. Tim’s team came out and after exposing the pipe, discovered that the builder installed the original pipe incorrectly which was part of the reason the leak developed. They quickly cut away the bad section of pipe and correctly installed a short length of copper pipe to correct the problem. No more leaks! They also checked my oven gas line for leaks and took a look at my tankless water heater. However I still had low water pressure. Tim came out the next day and determined that I had a cheap pressure reduction valve that was no longer any good. He replaced it with a top of the line pressure reduction valve. Immediately my water pressure went up into the 70s where it should be. I cannot recommend Tim highly enough. They were professional, fast, communicative, and reasonably priced. 5 stars!

Tim was recommended from a business owner friend of mine. This is after I had a quote from one company, when they showed the following day, they tried to upsell us relentlessly. Trying to repair items that just were not broken. maybe in the future, They were ok and working. Tim not only was less in fee, he mentioned the items the other company wanted to repair and gave solid advise. Did not try to upsell. It was an emergency, our whole sewage system collapsed under our home. It was a nightmare. He was responsive. While a lot of companies say 24 hours, not true. Most wanted to come out in a week+/- regardless. Tim took only 2 days after contact. I cannot say enough about Tim and his crew, ethics, quality and most of all, integrity/honesty. This was a huge job/emergency. I will tell 10 people ti use this company!

Recently our 100year old iron drain pipe finally rusted through and we couldn’t use our kitchen. Several plumbers didn’t return our calls and the few who did couldn’t come out until later in the week.

I had a main line water leak. I was out of town. I called Tim at noon he came out and had it all repaired in about 2 hrs, before I made it home. Price was more than reasonable. The greatest service. I highly recommend.

Estimate for washer dryer installation and walk in shower installation

We called midday and someone was able to come help us within the hour. He knew exactly what the problem was and brought all the right supplies and tools. Our old valves were replaced with much higher quality materials and he was done very fast. I see this company recommended all the time in local groups and I understand why!
