This company was really useful to detect a small pinhole leak in a pipe I am having at home for some time. After trying three different plumbers with no luck, the last one of them suggested me to call this company. They sent a first tech, who was not able to find the leak. When I called to pay for the service the lady from the office told me they will send a second tech to check and they were not going to charge me until the find the issue. They sent Shane Pyle and this guy is amazing. He was able to find the leak that it's so small it is not being detected either by the water meter or by using any of the device they user to hear into the pipe. To be able to find that leak you really need some kind of special observation skill this guy has. Really grateful with the job done.
I've had them come out to repair a leak in my pool twice. First time $300 dollars to come out, and a $40 epoxy job that lasted maybe 2 weeks. When you are the only show in town you can charge and do what you want. 2nd time, a different guy, and he actually got out the equipment to do a full leak test (first guy did not). After determining the leak was in the same place as the first guy, I was informed it couldn't be fixed with epoxy, charged me another $300 dollars and told me I would get a proposal to fix the pool. 2 weeks later I get the proposal of $1200 and was informed that the $640 I had already paid them doesn't go towards to cost of the repair.

Very unprofessional and terrible service. He arrived with no mask after being told to have a mask so had to wait for him to go back to his truck to get one which he clearly did not want to put on. When he finished he said he couldn't find any leaks but when I asked him why there was moisture around the air conditioning area he pointed to my dog's water bowl which was about 5 ft away and said there's your problem That's where your water is coming from.It is a non-tip bowl which sits on several layers of protective rug!!!His name was Carlos.Don't use this company!I will be reporting this to the Better Business Bureau.

I never write reviews but had to write this one. We have a modern house with a pool on the second floor. For months, we had a leak into a storage room under the pool on the first floor. Our contractor who built the house made multiple attempts to find the leak, our pool service company drained the pool to work on it and they searched for the leak. Stumped, the pool company recommended American Leak Detection. Denny from American Leak Detection came out and using his experience and expertise found the leak between the deck and the pool!. He did not even need to use all the special equipment they have at their disposal. We are extremely grateful because we had been living with the leak and the resultant damage for months. Dawn who runs the office is also very courteous and helpful. I highly recommend.

While the service person was professional and polite and the leak in my pool was repaired I am very upset that the repair on the pool deck was never completed! I called and was told that they FORGOT!! Now the pool is not complete and as a senior I am concerned that I may trip and fall. I think they don’t care because they got the money! Like I said I am a senior and Feel as though they have taken acdvantage of me. Be warned to not pay until the work is complete. I trusted them .....shouldn’t have!!
Very unprofessional behavior from the service rep. If you have to use this company, recommend not having a woman meet the tech. He clearly had an issue with taking information from a woman. The conclusion he drew was laughable. If the water came in from where he said the water damage would have been in a completely different room. But he had “15 years experience” which he reminded us of constantly. He decided when he first got there where the problem was and defied any and all evidence to the contrary.Recommended by our insurance company. Have the feeling that they find what the insurance company tells them to.

Called after hours and left a message. Next morning I set up my appointment for the same day, they found my leak in less than 20 minutes and fixed it. Fast, professional and considering the cost of having to put water in my pool every 3-4 days well worth the cost. Make sure to do a bucket test first to be sure it's a leak. I highly recommend calling them if you suspect a leak.
I contacted American Leak Detection on the advice of my long time plumber after receiving a water bill showing I used 10,000 gallons in one month. There were no visible signs of a leak anywhere.First let me say, I have rarely come across someone as nice as Dawn Foley. Talk about excellent customer service! She went above and beyond to get me taken care quickly. Her genuine concern comes across even over the phone. She is incredibly helpful. You don't get that often these days.Denny came out to find the leak. He was very thorough. I have an old home (built in 1950's) and lets just say EVERYTHING in this house is challenging! He located it right next to a swimspa I recently had installed. He came back a few days later to do the repair. Unfortunately the leak turned out to be a little further under the swimspa slab than first anticipated. But let me tell you, Denny worked his butt off doing everything he could to try to access it! He truly wanted to help, but it was out of his control. The swimspa would have to be moved with a crane to access the leak. This would cost thousands of dollars, so it wasn't an option. I had to resort to a replumb instead. But his determination and drive to do everything in his power to solve the problem was admirable. My situation is unique. Seems to be a theme in my old home. But I would not hesitate to recommend this company to others.
Insurance company called American Leak Detection, they came out quickly but I was told they could not detect any leaks. Insurance paid on this report. When workers opened the shower wall up they found two pipes leaking between the shower wall and bathtub! I would call someone else if I ever thought I had a leak somewhere in the walls.
I had a very strange interaction with Denny from American Leak detection. First he was at my door I was in back of the home and never heard the bell so my daughter was coming in and alerted me to his presence. Upon meeting him he was standoffish( as if he was the customer and I was the service person) whatever, I went to greet him with my name and a handshake, which he didn't provide! He never provided the company name nor his name and then he meets my handshake with a fist bump saying it is safer to avoid germs because I see a lot of people throughout the day.. and then he proceeds to step into my home without invitation!! He was an older man (at least in his late 50s early 60s so I would presume that he would know better). Well, he met a person today that decided to teach him better and I did very kindly let him know, don't ever walk into my home without a proper greeting and without being invited, especially when the nature of the matter at hand is on the outside of my home!!! I'm calling the insurance company and informing them of this and I will call the company too... don't ever send a rude service man to my home, I won't tolerate it... and I'm a woman, where is his chivalry...ugh!!!
I had two different plumbers come out and give me estimates on a hot water slab leak in our kitchen. Both of them, suggested a 2nd opinion on where the leak was, by using American Leak Detection. I paid the $325 for American Leak Detection to come out and “detect” the leak within a 12x12 radious. Unfortunately they ended up being 4 feet off. Where they said the 12x12 leak was, was exactly where the plumbers started. So the plumbersbstarted jackhammering, which was in our living room, and that ended up not being where the leak was. They were 4 feet off and it ended up being infront of our kitchen sink. So now we have a hole in our living room and then one in front of our kitchen sink, which was where the leak actually ended up being. I ended up having to pay the plumbers twice because of American Leak Detection’s wrong “guessing.”
An employee for this company (White man, 50s, short gray hair and gray beard) was on Jax Beach near the pier taking pictures and videos of women sunbathing. When confronted in the parking lot he refused to show his phone. He then got into his ALD work van and drove off. I called the company and left a message but never heard back. I wouldn't trust anyone at this company on your property, especially if you live at the beach. The employee can be identified by going to their Facebook page. He is the older man in the middle of their photo. Wouldn't let him in your home.

Paid them $325 to come out and check 2 areas that had water damage/discoloration on the ceiling and a possible leak in a house that I was in the process of purchasing. They told me there were no active leaks and no moisture anywhere in the house and the water damage was probably from a previous leak that had been repaired. I bought the house and not even 2 months later the water damage in those 2 areas is twice as bad. In one of the areas the drywall is actually soggy and falling off the ceiling! This was the biggest scam I've ever fallen for. Before I purchased the house I spent an hour on the phone with their receptionist telling her I was nervous to spend the money on their inspection (after I'd already spent another $1k on other required inspections) because I didn't want to find out later that there was a leak that went undetected. She convinced me that there are no leak detection company's like this one in Jacksonville and no one has a better capability to find leaks than they do and they are insurance companies choice. She never mentioned that there was only a 30 day guarantee on their service. I found this out last week after I called to let them know that both places they inspected were worse. It took 3 calls and a voicemail last week to get anyone to call me back today (8 days later) just to tell me they will come out and inspect again for another $160 lol ooookkkkaaaayyyyy. When I told the lady on phone that I was upset that I wasted $400 and bought a house with active leaks she said well it was actually only $325... Well excuse meeee. They sent me an email invoice 2 days after the inspection which I never opened because I already knew what I paid. Had I opened it I would have seen in the fine print that their inspection is only good for 30 days. In my case it wouldn't matter because it took almost 2 months for the leaks to show up worse and either way they were not able to detect the leaks in the first place. Had she told me on the phone prior to scheduling the inspection that they only had a 30 day guarantee then I would have never gone through with it. No leak is going to progress enough in 30 days to be noticeably worse, especially not in a vacant house like my situation. Overall, poor inspection skills and terrible customer service. I wish I read these reviews before giving them any money. Do not trust them with your leaks.

They did not actually perform work on my home. Reading, Jim's review here, I could rapidly see I was heading towards the outcome he had. I called to set up the appointment, and Dawn was great when I explained our problem. She said it would be $325 for the service person to come out but explained what all he would be doing to for the fee, and I felt comfortable with this, so we set up the appointment. The service person, Denny calls prior to the appointment, and I explain the issues we are having the same as I explained to Dawn. Denny then tells me, Well, I don't think we are going to be able to find the source of the problem, and I am not sure what I will be able to do.Well, then I obviously do not feel comfortable spending the money. I call the office back and speak to Dawn to see if they would still charge me the $325 for Denny to tell me what he just told me. She says yes, they would still charge this and that would perform all the things she had previously explained (even though Denny did not say he would do any of these things). I did not feel comfortable spending $325 when Denny has already told me he will not be able to find a problem.
I called American Leak Detection for a problem with my pool.Within a few days he was at my front door. He brought in his equipment and wet suit. After testing all of the Plumbing and eliminating that area as a problem he Put on the wet Suit and went over the Pool inch by inch... Finally he found the problem and patched it.But this did not solve the problem. I had to recall the service in a Few Days. No Arguments or Excuses, the service man was at the Front Door that same day. Again, the wet suite and after moreexamination he found the problem. I did not like what he found and the solution, but at least I knowwhat must be Done. R

Set up service due to a suspected pool leak. The Technician (Steve) came with an apprentice; found two leaks, patched them both, gave an impromptu education on pool plumbing, checked the plumbing while he was at it - competent, knowledgeable, will use again.

American Leak Detection is amazing! It took them less than 20 minutes to find a sneaky leak that has been giving me problems for months!! They were very courteous and professional. Highly recommend this company if you have a leak.
David came to our home, located the leak in our pool and repaired it quickly and with no clean-up issues. we would use him again (hopefully, we won't need to) an recommend him to anyone needing his services.

Wouldn't trust these people to find the only car In the parking lot, let alone a leak in your home. They say they wont charge you unless they find a leak, that is entirely false. I had to pay over 300 dollars for a inconclusive report that solved nothing.

Great service. Got an appointment quickly and they were able to diagnose the problem. Dawn was a very helpful representative and Steve, our technician, was able to detect our leak and let us know the extent of our damage in no time. Thankful for their quick service!!

This company is great and so are the people that work there. Dawn in the office was friendly and quick to answer any questions. Brandon and Steve came out to do the detection and repair. They were professional and explained things thoroughly. I highly recommend them to anyone in need of this type of service.

Denny is the man!!!!! He found and fixed a leak in our pool that another company couldn't find. I would highly recommend American Leak Detection for any LEAK you may have.
Came in and accessed the issue. The insurance tried to do something that was not professional. American Leak's report was helpful
