Very, very expensive but you get what you pay for. Our electrician was only a few minutes late, wearing a mask properly (I am vulnerable), and happily put on shoe covers. He was wonderful. He was knowledgeable and best of all, honest. He fixed our broken thermostat after we gave him permission to, but before he did, he told us the truth about how HVAC would've been cheaper. I wasn't expecting integrity along with my morning coffee!That was impressive and part of why we went ahead with the repair despite the extra cost. Who knows how long it would take to find a similarly excellent repairman? Luis also answered all of our other questions; we live in a 116 year old house with a ton of electrical issues. He told us how to address two minor issues, then gave us a very useful estimate for our terrible kitchen lighting.He was in and out in under an hour-- so no one had to miss work! I understand why people call Powell Electric. While it is expensive, if you don't have time or patience for this city's incredibly unprofessional and incompetent repair people, Powell is the best choice.

Doug came to my home and confirmed what was needed, wrote a quote and arranged for the work to be done the following day!!This Team was amazing. They were polite, on time, energetic, helpful, explained what was scheduled and what they were actually doing. It was wonderful. Teamwork. Louis was very professional and straight to the point. He came to do an inspection on what we wanted to have done, gave us options and performed one service that day which was repairing an outlet.Next, Brian and Andrew came two days later. They repaired 4 more outlets, 3 switches, installed 2 light fixtures, pulled out a cable wire and even patched up both sides of the wall. They were very professional, respectful and cleaned up after themselves.We cannot be more happy with the services provided and are extremely happy with the customer service from the Powell Electric team. I'm not sure why these reviews are so high. The ones on Yelp are much more accurate. They charged me $99 to give me an estimate for a simple job that was almost FIVE TIMES the price of other electricians. I've read some of their responses to reviews here and they say they pride themselves on providing upfront pricing. They do not provide upfront pricing. They charge a hundred dollars to give you a grossly inflated price. They come out ahead whether they do the job or not. Have never had such a shady experience with a business before.UPDATE: Powell followed up with me via phone to explain why they think $1200 was an appropriate cost to swap out fountain pumps. I was still able to get the job done by another electrician for $100. But Powell reimbursed the charge for the estimate call. I appreciate their professionalism and proactive willingness to make it right and have updated my review to reflect that.

Hands down one of the best experiences with Powell Electric. This is my 3rd time needing their services over the past few years and while all of my experiences have been good, this one stands out! Powell Electric did an excellent job in rewiring and installing a light fixture in the kitchen. Doug was extremely professional and efficient. For such service and quality, do expect the prices to be on the high side. However, they stand by their work and paying cheaper is not always the best route when it comes to electrical systems. When the time comes for other electrical repairs, I will rely on Powell Electric.

The engineer that came out was prompt, professional, and very friendly. He definitely knows his trade and was patient and informative. I ultimately decided not to use their services as the bid was too high in my opinion. I will be exploring other options. They are a well oiled machine and if money is not a concern I would recommend them.
I live in and own my home which I recently purchased. I will have a long journey to restore the home to the quality and ambience it needs and deserves. The quality of work done by the knowledgeable Technician and his Assistant has been in keeping with my goals for this home and I appreciated the work they did. Doug and Powell Electric were fantastic. Doug came out yesterday and then again today to take a look at a related problem - my heater broke - and fixed it!!!! No charge, no fuss (it was an electrical issue). A pleasure to deal with. He is honest, fair, and, most important, loved our dog Rocco. I really feel I can trust his work and integrity. I have a big electrical job coming out, and I will use Doug. I never do these shout-outs but Doug really came through for our family. My house is warm and toasty. And Rocco wants to adopt him!
Doug came out to diagnosis my problem. And he certainly did what was expected. He told me that the problem lies with my utility company. If my utility company does their work and my problem isn't resolved, I'm most certainly requesting Doug again to come out and repair any outstanding issues so that I may get my electrical outlets working again. He was honest, straightforward, professional, respectful, and so so kind. He's an amazing employee! Everything that a business needs in an employee. It's hard to find this kind of professionalism. I definitely recommend calling Powell Electric for electrical work. Their advertisements work. And one more thing, he listened to me and answered all my questions. I needed a few things done around the house like a new gfci and some problems with our led and lawn lights. Powell electric got someone out within a few days which was great and Doug was courteous and friendly came at the estimated time and gave me different options without being pushy. John & Carlos were meticulously careful, kept the house clean despite a muddy downpour, were friendly, and did a great job finding my short circuit and replacing all related receptacles and switches.I thought what Powell Electric charged was high. Two quality electricians, even for a full days work, shouldn'tbe THAT pricey. But they got the job done well -- in a single day -- and took me out of a 3-day depression over this mysterious and unexplained outage. I'm glad I could afford it!

My garage door started opening and closing in its own. And none of the key pads worked. Although this is not a typical call for Powell, the technician was thorough with troubleshooting and got it working and stabilized. He was professional and friendly. And he didn’t overcharge. All good qualities.

I'm a repeat customer of Powell Electric & their young electricians, Juan & Gio completed their task in locating where the short circuit is coming from & fixed it. They arrived on time, located the problem in the attic, fixed it then cleaned up. Although Powell is kinda pricey on their estimates, I'm happy with the result & have a peace of mind that they are fully insured, bonded & licensed electricians...so they say in their TV ads, We'll fix it in a flash!
I called to repair a ceiling fan. The fan turned off by itself. The first technician told me the fan was installed incorrectly and a part was broken. The cost was $499, but someone would have to come back on Monday. New technician came on Monday, needed new fan, additional cost to install $399. I am buying the new fan. Who spends $900 for the installation of a ceiling fan in their right mind? I had paid the $80 service fee and $210 deposit on the $499. I had no problem with the service charge, but Pat (the technician) agreed to give me back the $210 deposit after talking with his supervisor, Sam. Pat could not give me a zero balance invoice with the return of the $210 deposit. He told me they would send one from the office in the morning. I have not received the invoice as of this writing.

He simply Flipped the Breaker.
I understand that they charge for a Service Call to just show up but it took 5 minutes and i was charged full price. It just would’ve been nice if they would’ve given an old lady a discount since he can go to another service call right away.
It was a pleasure having Adrian and Andrew retrace and install the hot wire I nicked trying to replace an ancient receptacle. It snapped attempting to move it into place, and disappeared into the conduit. Also replaced seven plugs. Sharp, affable, and respectful; while clean and efficient going about their work. Worth every dollar. A+
I was very satisfied with the prompt response of the scheduler and the professionalism of the technician, William. On the other hand, the total charge ($399) seemed quite high. That was surprising and frankly disappointing. I’ll do more research next time.

TOTAL SCAM! God I'm so disappointed in the prices. Again should have did my due diligence, but I was in a pinch. Had an outlet problem. After 10 minutes the attendant told me I just needed the GCFI outlet replaced. It was a simple swap (I could have probably did it myself after watching).He went outside to get a price from his boss.Comes back and quotes me $399.PAT WAS AMAZING THOUGH! Really means well.Poor guy though. The people who work for this place are honest people and do good work, but the people who are working behind the scenes and running the prices are money hungry monsters.I have a ton of connections in LA and I will not be recommending this place ever again.
What I thought would be a minor repair turned into a major job, but these guys completed it on time and within their original price quote. Their office checked in with frequent updates/status. I would say on balance they were professional and delivered the job on time, and I would use them again.
Mr Reyes was helpful very knowledgeable and extremely professional. I am glad we found Power electric and they sent Mr Reyes. He was a much-needed help with the situation I have going on and I thank you for sending him.

For those that say the prices are high - they are a Union Company and provide Medical & Dental coverage to their employees. That was good to hear that they trat their employees well.
The lights were flickering in my kitchen. Powell came and checked the switches and located the problem. They not only fixed everything, but did additional services without charge. Very happy with the service people and the work done.

SCE damaged the main breaker in my electrical panel and Stephen (Powell Electric) was able to come on short notice to assess the damage. Powell even has the replacement breaker in stock so they're coming back tomorrow to replace it and restore full power to my house. After a nightmare experience with SCE, I really appreciate how responsive Powell has been and how informed they keep their customers. It feels good knowing Powell is handling this problem and that it's going to get resolved very soon.

Where to begin, I can't say enough good things about Powell Electric, their customer service representatives, their management and most importantly their Electricians. I live in a single family home in Westlake Village, CA. 5 years ago, Powell installed a dedicated electrical line for my pool. Over time one of the wires corroded underground causing the pool to lose power and shutting down the pump. The work was warrantied for 1 year as with most/all Electrical work these days. I spoke with Sam, one of the field managers at Powell and he was fantastic, without question he sent out his team the very next day and fixed the issue at no charge. They went above and beyond by replacing all the wires to ensure this wouldn't happen again. In this day and age, customer service at this level is rare and hard to come by. They identified the problem and it was fixed the next day. The repairmen were very professional. I regret not having the work itemized, broken down on cost for individual parts and labor. The invoice seemed very high for what was done and neighbors agreed with me. The power was out so it wasn’t very viable to get a second opinion.
Tough job and Powell had the proper amount of techs as needed. Ari came back to fix an issue. They do clean up after the work. Worst storm in years and 3 techs showed up and kept the house clean after going outside
Had a newly installed smoke detector checked because it was (already) chirping. Mauricio checked things out, made a minor correction, and tested the wiring and my panel. Fingers crossed all is good, but if it turns out I need some minor wiring repair, this is who I'll be calling.

Very prompt call back. Able to come out as day, due to cancellation.. Original need replace dimmer switch. Added replace front door light switch and two hall light switches. Total. Warning there is a $99 service call charge if you only get estimate and have NO work done. I estimated in my own mind $300 maybe $500 tops. Hold on to you seat Pat came back with a quote for One thousand Three hundred fifty dollars. Sticker shock. Yes $1350 to replace 6 light sites. They did do a thurrow inspection and put everything back together but my head was stuck to the ceiling..i can't recommend Powell because of pricingI'm going back to Home Depot and get a revommdation.

I requested a visit to install a ring door bell wired to an alarm system. My quote for the 2 wires needed to attach a doorbell $1900!!! I didn't pay half that much for the doorbell or entire system!! I was charged $75 to be told that?! I'm livid and still feel robbed. The tech showed up with a teenage son that I feel he had tagging along knocking out as much of these outrageous price, collect$75 a pop and go home without lifting a finger along the way. I want my money back or a more reasonable quote. There's no oversight in this business and 10-12 visited a day is close to $1k daily!!! There's no incentive to do any work with this charlatan grifter a pricing yo be more profitable. I didn't dare can not afford to receive any more quotes at that rate!! My property owner (who owns a plumbing, heating and electrical company) sent their own technician who could not get my ceiling fan to work, even though they installed it!The owner called Powell Electric. Pat came out and assessed the problem and set and appointment to return the next day. Not only did they return ON TIME, but he brought Carlos to assist. These 2 gentlemen reinstalled the fan, cleaned it and mounted the remote for us! The craziest part was THEY CLEANED UP THEIR MESS! I would highly recommend this company! We also love the television commercials!

This is my 2nd time having Powell Electric out to our home. Ari & Pat came out to install additional lighting in my bedroom - nothing is worse than poor lighting in your bedroom / bathroom / ANY room actually! They recommended 4 recessed lights on a dimmer switch. ?? They were in and out in a jiffy and took extra precautions not to leave a trace of dirt or drywall dust anywhere. Just like their commercial says: ?They fixed it in a ✨flash ✨! ??Next project I have scheduled with Powell Electric is to have them install my Ring doorbell and surveillance cameras. Mariano is a lovely man and was very helpful. Unfortunately, the estimate for repair was over $2600 for a small break in the buried conduit housing a wire. My husband found that excessive.Mariano made a temporary cover over the break. My husband will repair it properly.That was $399 for the visit and the temporary cover. Regret that I will not be adding Powell Electric to my Contacts.

We were generally pleased by our experience, however, we would have liked to have had a parts and labor itemization with the final invoice so that we could determine the value of the services rendered. This was our first call for an electrician in decades in we did not know what to expect. The technician was very professional and scheduled our job for the following day and completed the work cleanly and quickly. Expensive, but i accept paying for time. What I DO NOT accept is deceptive advertising. When the company says that the service fee will be applied towards service, that isn't the same as just pulling it off the bill. Choose a service provider carefully. I paid full price after being told that the 99$ service fee was going to be applied to the service. It isn't. It is an item on the invoice that they then remove. This is 100% not the same thing. As some one in a service industry I would never tell that to a client and expect them to come back. Powell and I are done in our relationship. The Electrician was very nice and I would hire him one on one again.

$500 to fix the problem. Did not fix the problem. Subsequent $5400 to fix the unfixed problem. I rejected. $34 timer switch I installed fixed the problem. Saved myself $5365 you can do the same. Don’t call Powel.

Tech seemed like he didn’t want to do anything for me. Tech said fountain pump was shorting. Turned out to be the plug. Asked to replace broken plug outside. Gave me a quote of $450. Handyman replaced it for $20 total. Called company person got upset with my questions and he hopes I don’t call again. Will not use or recommend again

If you like paying $1,000 hour for labor only that was our estimated when union labor rates for electricians are under $200. We cancelled the call and are still in shock.
I get an appointment within days after calling. Doug was friendly and helpful. He showed up on time. The quote for the work was high enough that I decided not to use Powell, but he explained carefully the reason why and could not have been more professional.

I had a breaker that was bad and needed to have it replaced along with a dimmer switch. I've never replaced a breaker but have built and own a number of buildings as well as homes so when it comes to this type of stuff, I'm pretty good at gauging what things should cost. I just finished building a 55,000 sf. building so I have a pretty good idea of the hourly rates charged by electricians. They charged $99 to come out and then informed me that it would be $399 to replace the breaker and another $399 to install a dimmer switch. I've probably personally installed over 100 dimmer switches over the years and and can't say that any one of them ever took more than 15 minutes.I live in Santa Monica and expect that the over-priced work is the result of Powell Electric taking advantage of the affluence of the area and perhaps people not knowing better. A real hose job to say the least. When I questioned the cost, the person in the office gave me a host of reasons, none of which reconciled what they were asking to be paid vs. what the job should have cost.

I have had the team from Powell (led by Miguel Ortiz) on-site for a couple of weeks now. They have been fantastic in every respect: on time every day, very professional & efficient in their work, extremely personable, and they leave the house clean every day when they leave. They have also been very accommodating to changes I have requested as the project progressed. I am 100% satisfied with their work. Happy to recommend them.
I called at least 4 other electricians. One took my info and never called me back. Another took my info and even made an appointment... and never showed up or answered my calls ever again. Powell picked up on the first call and actually showed up for their appointment. The electrical work wasn't cheap but for a business I'd rather pay than possibly wire something wrong myself and being liable. Got the same technician on both interactions and he worked quickly and was a very nice dude. Thanks Powell!Month Later Update: Noticed a small issue that began after Powell's repair. They had someone over within a few days and sorted everything out! Again, they are great!

First time customer and I would use again. My main bathroom electricity had burn out from a heater/light/fan. It was replaced along with the 2 GFIs it burned out. Rewiring in a very small attic space was a challenge but the pictures of the work I was shown, everything was complete and properly installed.Pat Ma and his partner Jesus were the best!!! They were great and professional always. They put plastic down and cleaned afterwards. Yes, it was costly, but it was worth every penny! I don't want to have to worry about an electric fire. I would call on them should the need come up.

Since Powell was the first electric company to address our needs, we felt it was logical to get a couple more estimates. Window was 12pm-3pm. When I called at 245pm to see where the tech was, they said sorry we had a few call outs and it will be around 4pm. They never reached out to me to say they would be late. If I'm paying for a service and asked to wait during that time....then if it's outside the window I should of received a call automatically from them not me calling them. They didnt offer a discount for wasting my time. Tech was not knowledgeable at all. Told me I have return the carbon monoxide units I purchased and repurchase smoke alarms only which is NOT true. Then when i was questioning him he had to call his work for clarification and then said they would install the units. And the quote was so ridiculous! To install 1 digital thermostat and 2 carbon dioxide alarms was $699 which insane. Not only did they waste my time.....they wanted to rip me off as well. I will not be doing business will Powell electric.

I called Powell Electric to have them come out to install a Ring Floodlight Cam for the front of the house. Raul came out on the time and date we agreed on. He was very Professional and Knowledgeable with the unit to be installed. Gave us a fair estimate and completed all tasks in a timely manner. We tested the system and made sure we were using it at it full capacity. Clean up and had us sign for agreed price. Wehave always been happy with Powell Electric and will call them again when needed.
Quoted $1600. Mostly new switches, one flush mount closet fixture. Other electric company did the job for $325. Wow!!

This is the 2nd time it has been our good fortune to have Mr. Reyes as our electrician. For each service call he was prompt, listened intently, worked smartly and effectively. Most importantly he either resolved our issue(s) or provided options for safe and cost effective results. Mr. Reyes' visit was as comfortable as a visit from an old friend who is very well educated and certified in all things electrical.
Stephen was very professional. With a pleasant smile, he introduced himself, put protective footies over his shoes and was ready to work. I needed three smoke detectors installed. He discussed pricing, warranty and a senior discount. He also replaced the bulbs in the chandelier in my stairwell. The work was very neat, he left the areas clean. I will request Stephen again if need be.

Company was contracted to prepare a court report document on damages done by previous electrician, AND a quote to repair. Charged me $399. Emailed me a quote for services and no damage report.Not only was it explained up front what was required, but I called Sam at the office to reiterate and go over WHAT the report needed to say WHILE Luis was standing in front of me taking notes.After I received the quote, I spoke to Luis again and was told now they won’t provide what I paid for. I again, stated that I did not pay $399 for a one page quote to install light fixtures and a few outlets, and that we had spent over an hour GOING OVER everything to be included in the report. He stated that he would check with the owner for a refund. Haven’t heard anything back from the company despite several emails. Still trying to get my money back from them. I have filed a dispute with my credit card, and will be following up with other agencies if that does not work.Edit 7/12/2022 in response:I have spoken to Luis MULTIPLE times, and to the owner Sam.I have corresponded via email requesting my money back, and was told to call them (I refuse to call, as I want a record of the conversations, since they are acting dishonestly and this may end up in small claims court). They were here solely to provide documentation about the work done by the previous electrician (there was visible damage everywhere) , that would be admissible in court, and they did not provide that.To charge me $399 for “not being able to see what was done” - and then claiming that this was what we agreed upon is neither honest nor showing any amount of integrity. Why would I pay $399 for a QUOTE, and an inspection you claim you could not do? You did not provide the documentation you were requested to provide. End of story. Refund my money.

They were right on time for the appointment. I will say that the service was extremely expensive. Great quality work but pricy as I said. In the past I had my Tesla charger installed by a private electrician and it was only 350 dollars. To install my new Porsche electric charger and replace it for the Tesla charger it was 1,050 dollars. No complaints about the job done I just think it was a little on the pricy side is all.

Stephen, was on time very professional and reassured that I was not crazy. My electrical issues was caused by a renovation that was done prior to my move in. awful service. i used them once and it was great. and then the problem started occurring again. they came back and said it was a different issue (the light trim). gave me a quote for $700 for four light trims and repair.i looked up the light trim and it was $14 for the exact model I had. I watched a video and repaired it myself in less than 30 seconds.they were fully taking advantage thinking a young woman doesn't know how to do an easy task or find the model of the light. incredibly rude. will not be using again.

He explained and showed me pictures of the incomplete and incorrectly completed work.Raul is very knowledgeable and explained the problem and showed me proof of the problems. Every time they opened up an outlet they found something that was completed incorrectly by the remodeling crew. Very nice people and very communicative but $850 to install a standard wall outlet is wild. 2 other big companies offered to do it for under 300$ so I didn’t end up using powell but still had to pay for the quote. Maybe they are worth it for big jobs but If you have a small job might as well get a free quote from other electrical companies and save on both ends

I needed to get a quote on some replacement outlets and Powell Electric was very responsive. They sent an electrician out and texted me beforehand to let me know who was coming, along with a picture of him. Doug was courteous and professional. He was knowledgeable and friendly. He got 2 quotes for me when I decided to get fewer outlets replaced and we had a lovely conversation while he did the work. He let me know what he was doing and what to look out for in the future if I had any difficulties with power going on and off randomly, etc. I have all original wiring in my condo so this was all good information to know. He also provided me with a folder that has the warranty and certificate of insurance. I recommend Powell and would definitely use them again.

I just had one of Powell Electric's electricians at our home and when he left our home ai turned to my wife and said this was one of the best experiences I have ever had with anyone that did work in our home. Powell sent us a gentlemen who has been with the company for more than 20 years. His name is, Doug, and he was simply in jus one word INCREDIBLE . Doug walked with me around our home and I pointed out several concerns my wife and I had and as I did he took notes and asked questions, some I could answer and others I was not quite sure about. Doug was very patient and extremely diligent in finding out what the issues were that we needed to have fixed. Not only was he a great electrician, he was just as nice and kind as anyone could possibly be. He managed to find ways to completely fix some of the issues and one will need to be tended to next week. Frankly, I am looking forward to having Doug retuned because he was such a sweet guy along with being one heck of an electrical genius. Based on this experience, and the experience other family members have had when working with the folks at Powell Electric, I can without a moments hesitation recommend their company to anyone in need of excellent, qualified, and reasonably priced electrical electrical work throughout your home. Early yesterday morning, my friend noticed a smell coming from the wiring in the wall and my ceiling light went out. He remembered the Powell Electric commercial, so we got their number and I gave them a call. They said they would send somebody within the hour. It wasn't very long after I received a call from Mariano Reyes saying he would be there within 45 minutes and he was there within about 30 minutes. I'm not sure exactly how long it took but it was less than that. He replaced two ceiling light fixtures and the GFI (a panel with seven plugs on the wall). I love the lighting fixtures that he put in. They are beautiful! I can now be at peace and not have to worry that my place is going to burn down because of an electrical short. It was a major concern to me, because my brother's mobile home burned down several years ago due to an electrical short that he didn't notice. Needless to say, I am very happy with the service and the work that I received, and if I ever need any electrical work, or if anyone asks me if I know of a good electrician, I will definitely recommend Mariano and Powell Electric. Don't make the same mistake that I did by seeing up an appointment with Powell Electric. This outfit is no better than the worst Electrical company's out there. They make appointments, had to wait 5 days and then after I wasted all of my time waiting for them in the time window, they called to say they couldn't make it. They wanted to reschedule for another day. No real apologies. Just a comment that sometimes things happen. Never again with this company.

I can’t thank Powell Electric enough. Fully explained what is needed and how to get the job fixed. Mariano was very professional. Showed up exactly on time. Wore his mask entire time he worked and I’m sure it’s not easy to do manual labor and have your airway restricted. He even wore booties while inside my house. We have light colored flooring and this was a major concern of mine as a homeowner. The entire interaction was a great experience. From booking my appointment last night at 7pm to job being completed by 11am this morning was exceptional. I would not only highly recommend Powell Electric but I’ll definitely be using them in the future myself. They have great employees representing their company!
i have had plenty of service people in my house over the last 30 years so i can say clearly that Ari and James at Powell are above average on relating the job thru all my constant interruption they were polite informative and never talked down to me for not knowing electrical stuff and they spoke to me on my level to help me understand what they were doing thank you gentlemen ?
Doug did a great job in quickly and thoroughly assessing the problem. He was very courteous and professional throughout and was willing to answer all of my questions. Unfortunately, their work order bid based on that assessment so I opted to use a local provider that I know rather than Powell Electric. For reference, I was able to get all the necessary work done for approximately 10% of the Powell bid price, which makes me feel like there might have been something wrong with the bid I received. Admittedly, I'm still not certain why Powell was so much higher, but in the end I'm happy with the outcome now that the work has been completed by a local provider.

I felt very confident in his knowledge and skills and trusted him completely. Plus we was very nice to our cats, and careful with the door so as not to let them out. Price gouged. The technician was good but Powell Electric is overpriced. They charged me $349 for less than 1hr of work, with labor only to replace a smoke detector and screw in 2 bulbs on a outdoor security light using ab6ft ladder. They also charge $99 to come out if you don't accept their high price quote after they come out to assess the job. And what happened to the $49 special. False advertising gimmick to get you to call, but I never did get an understandable answer to how this applied. The company provided No materials for this job. Ridiculous. I know they likely paid the technician less than $100/hr. So they pocketed over 2/3 in profit. Schiesters!

I called Powell Electric and they came out quickly to our house. We needed two light switches fixed, my Ring doorbell fixed due to no power and to check out outdoor lights. Raul was absolutely great. He fixed everything and got everything working. He also found and fixed a dangerous situation with our outdoor outlet that was actually burning and needed to replaced with a GFI one with an outdoor cover. I highly recommend him and Powell electric.
Mariano was fantastic. I had lots of switches to replace and some rewriting. He was at my home for 4 hours installing WiFi switches. He would install them, and I would sync them to my phone and Alexa. We were a good team. I had installed a couple myself, but then they became difficult, so I called Powell.

Doug was great! It was more of speaking with a nice guy than being bamboozled by an electrician. He instantly presented us with licensure and insurance credentials. Nothing is done on the cheap, but it’s more than an investment, it’s my home. We use Powell Electric.
Powell was much more responsive, reliable, & faster than a previous electrician I had used in Hermosa Beach. Super easy to reach someone on the phone. They provide a folder with all their insurance, warranty, pledges, & billing paperwork. My new fixtures & dimmers look amazing! I just wished they had been cleaner; they needed to sweep up the drywall dust & especially the broken glass from the old fixture they broke; thank God I had shoes on in my bedroom, there were shards of glass everywhere!
Mariano was incredibly nice and professional. Our decision to not use Powell on this project was not because of him but the cost quoted. It was 3x what others want to charge as well as 3x more than Hone Advisor stated it should cost.

My experience with electricians in past years has made me hesitant to use their services, so I delayed an electrical problem for quite awhile. I finally decided to call Powell Electric, as the song goes. I was scheduled for 12:00 - 3:00. On the day of the service, I got a call 10 minutes BEFORE 12:00 to tell me Mariano would be coming within 30 minutes! My experience with house calls of most contractors has been they show up at the end of the time quote they give, after you wait for a few hours. Mariano came and was immediately professional, clearly knew his stuff, and was also FRIENDLY! He analyzed my problem in minutes, and I hung around to talk while he fixed it, because he was so nice and also he was informative by explaining what he was doing. At completion, the Powell billing was just as the TV video says - VERY reasonable! It was an amazing experience. I would definitely use them again, and ask for Mariano!

Doug is very professional and communicated price and an explanation of the issue and how he fixed it. I submitted an online request for work through the website on Sunday. Monday at 8:30am someone called me, explained the price, and offered someone to come same day. The person on the phone was professional as well. I got another call that the electrician was on his way and he showed up on time. Doug fixed the problem quickly and he was very pleasant. They charged us $99 for the estimate which consisted of the technician to take a picture of our light switch for 5 minutes and told us it would $1760 just to move the switch over 5 feet ok the same wall!!! This is a simple job, but this company just overcharges you. Don't use this company unless you want to be ripped off.
Called Powell Electric after sparks were coming out of an outlet, and loss power.Luis assessed the problem, thoroughly checked all outlets and the power boxes. Once he identified the the circuit with the short, he explained what and why it happened. He answered all my questions and was pleasant and professional. We set up a date for the work to be done and it's a great feeling to deal with a reputable company that I can trust.
He did an outstanding job. He explained everything very well. This was the second time he did work here and I would hope you could schedule him to come back for more. My home is 101 years old and the electrical is a long way from code. I'm hoping Powell electric can set things right.
I had asked Powell electric to come out as I was having issues with a grounded outlet for my garbage disposal. After inspecting the gentleman told me that there was an exposed neutral wire and that the outlets GFI had been tripped, that there was potential water damage at the switch and said he would go work up an estimate. After 30 minutes he came back and worked up a quote for $800, a quote to redo my circuit breaker for $6000 and a quote to rewire essentially my entire house for $16000. I had asked for one outlet to be checked and replaced. After trying to sell me in on all of these services I asked them to leave went to Home Depot and got the $20 part and did it myself. This was ridiculous, I understand upselling and a range of work but the request was to look at one outlet not to rewire my house. Sure the $800 quote may have been fair for the amount of work that was quoted but I didn’t ask for my entire kitchen area to be rewired and replace junction boxes that were perfectly fine, I asked for one switch and one outlet to be fixed.I did not use this service and would caution anyone on their estimates and the amount of work that needs to be done. Would not recommend.

Mariano was the best! He’s a keeper for sure. Very thorough and found my issue immediately! Took time to do a complete walk through and walk around the exterior. Found loose wiring in our box! Tightened it all up, so hopefully our electric bill goes down! Then, the repair people came out to install LED rated dimmer switches, fixed some recessed lighting wiring issues, put in a remote control switch for ceiling fan, installed a new Dust to Dawn outdoor light fixture. Very, very seldom am I impressed with service that I receive. In fact, the last time I was, was probably flying first class. Mariano (my technician for Powell Electric) provided first class service. He arrived early and called. I missed the first call and he called again one minute later. He was polite, friendly, and respectful of both me and my house. He explained was what he was going to do, showed me the findings of his diagnosis, provided a solution to my problem, and showed me again once it was complete. I'm absolutely wowed by my experience and will have his card handy for as many recommendations as I can give him.

We had an emergency that had to be addressed immediately. Mariano arrived sooner than expected. He was absolutely wonderful in his thoroughness getting to the cause of the problem. He provided a temporary fix and helped us get Edison out to investigate the outside wiring. He was very concerned about our situation. We will have to have more work done, but we could not accept the estimate Powell Electric gave us—it was unreasonably high. We paid $400 for the emergency visit. Mariano’s advice and actions were worth it given the situation, but we will not be using Powell again.

The electrician who arrived was outstanding, very cool and clear on what he could do and how long it would take.I am all for paying folks for service, but was floored when I got the total estimate before work began. For a total of 1 hour of work, I was quoted $770??? I have already made two calls to other electricians and their quotes were more than HALF of what I was quoted.

I was pleasantly surprised (and relieved) while the electrician, William G began his work on our outdoor light fixture and tackled a really tough broken bulb in our bathroom fixture. I appreciated that he repaired the outdoor fixture using the least expensive, but functional route for me. I now have a working outdoor light! William was polite, professional, precise and quick without rushing.I say I was relieved because of the bad reviews and 2 star rating that I read before calling. However, William’s professionalism AND the honoring of the $78 charge that they advertise was the actual and final cost for my work! I paid $399 for spend 5 minutes for the tech to test the electrical box to tell me there was a problem with SCE; and then called SCE to fix the issue. I was grateful for the quick solution & expedient field visit. The price hurt the pocket book; but They saved the Xmas eve family celebration. They also said the $399 would be applied to any repair.if needed.

I received a quote for my laundry room light fixtures. He was very knowledgeable and told me the difference between the LED light and the regular lights. I looked it up and he was right it does save more money and it's safer also what I read about LED is much safer than the regular light what do they call the regular light florescent?lol

Honestly, it was the technician that made this service so enjoyable. He was friendly, warm, and a pleasure to have around. He made sure to explain everything including why my plugs didn't work and what's needed to fix them. Raul answered all of my questions and we had a great conversation during his time here. I have no problem paying a little extra for great service because I've had some really shady companies come out who were cheap but I find more often than not, cheap prices gets you cheap service. Will definitely use them again.
We had a quick fix (thank goodness). And we did not need to pay more than the $99 service call. All the reviews are right- SCAM COMPANY DO NOT CALL!!!!!!Was given an astronomically high ridiculous quote for a quick under sink job- was quoted $1,080!!!!!! Was quoted for the same job a few months earlier for $300 by another company!Will not be recommending this company to anyone. We feel scammed into paying for the $99 visit only to be given a quote that is out of the realms of logic. Was told someone would be here between 10-1. No one arrived until after 1:30. Was told he had the parts, only to receive the quote and find out he couldn't to the work until after Thursday! This is unacceptable and unprofessional. Wish I could leave less than 1 star.It also seems incredibly sketchy that they have 1.5 stars rating on Yelp yet 4.7 stars rating on Google.

Their electrician Raul, took the time to throughly diagnosed our electrical wire arching problem, executed steps to make the situation safe and provided clear steps to permanently correct the problem. Best of all, he explained his diagnosis and answered all our questions with very polite, clearly understood information.
Doug came right on time and got right into the issue... which seemed to remedy itself just an hour prior to his arrival. Undeterred, Doug still got into it and looked to see if he could find out why the breaker on my pool’s electric panel had stopped working. After a thorough inspection and his clear explanation, he also sized up my house’s aging electric set up. I’m thankful I kept the appointment with Powell.

Mariano went above and beyond to find a intermittent power supply problem. He was a great technician and made sure that we had an accurate assessment of our issues I will definitely use them in the future and he will finish this job within a couple days when the parts arrive. Stephen is great and his team (Ari et al) are great too! They are timely, responsive, courteous; and most importantly they know what they are doing and get it done right. They may not be the cheapest, and maybe even at a slight premium, but in exchange, they won't waste your time with ineffective or incomplete work. So choose Powell - don't be penny wise pound foolish IMHO.
I am very pleased with the service from the dispatcher to the technician Doug Edwards. Doug was very professional and was upfront and honest on what was needed. Since I initially tried to change the light switch with no experience on my own but following YouTube which led in loss of power... I could've been told that I damaged something which would cost me an arm and a leg. However Doug brought the power back and provided me options for installing a timer switch. I am appreciative of that and the job was done with quality. I would definitely call again if another job is needed.

Called to have some work done, they said that they would be at my the next day (a Friday) between 1 pm and 4pm. Friday came and went 3x over and still no call no show. No good. I will fix the problem myself. I didn't want to go this route but they should fix the problem they created.

The tech Joshua was professional and polite, no issue there. But $350 to replace a light switch and that was with a $50 discount already being applied ?. I was expecting maybe 150ish so I was shocked and disappointed. They do guarantee the work but still, that’s expensive! Now I see why the guy wouldn’t give me idea on replacing the light switch over the phone. No power issue just needed something simple done. Anyways, learned my lesson with this company.

I have used this business in the past, but they wanted to charge more than $900 just to replace three bathroom fixtures. They were my first call so I wasn’t sure the price was fair. However, Greg was on time, patient, friendly, and professional. Everything that makes me call Powell for estimates anytime I need electrical work.

I had Powell Electric come over to consult on some work to be done on our 110 year old house with wiring of different eras.The electrician was very knowledgeable and easy to talk to.I learned more than expected and he even made a useful suggestion about something I hadn't thought of.Very pleased. Explained several electrical issues in the garage. He evaluated the issues and created a work order for for the work to be done on a scheduled date.Raul explained very well what the problems were. So next week the work is scheduled to be doneGreat job in upgrading the electrical in the garage , a lot done . The 2 electricians (John and Antonio) sent by Raul did all that needed to be done !When Brian came on Friday he was able to reset the timing on the motion detectors . That night I could get the results I wanted from motion light detectors ! All is good .

The technician, Raul, was really professional and I would have hired this company based on him but their price was 3-4 times that of the other estimates I received.Raul could not break out the invoice by parts and labor saying it was company policy not to. Their workaround is labeling the job as a complete service. That maybe legal but surely feels deceptive. Of course I had to pay $99 to potentially get screwed. For a 4 hour job and $350 in parts, Powell wanted $4600!! Wolf did a super job for $950.? Call Powell Electric, they'll stick it up you A__! ?

Stephen Kitz was friendly, on time and got the job done very quickly. Excellent service. The only issue might be the $302 charge to replace a simple outlet. We thought that a little pricey. However, all other aspects were a pleasant experience.
$99 to come out to give you a quote. Fair enough, that's not too uncommon. But the quote was MORE than double 2 other quotes I got from reputable, smaller electricians. Total rip off. Save your time and money and find a local, smaller reputable electrician.

Greg came to my house early which I consider on time. He wore footies throughout my house and he wore a mask and gloves. He was very very professional and showed me everything relating to questions I had for electrical. I did call for one specific purpose or two actually. One was to install an adapter for an electric dryer in my garage and second was to get my gfi plugs (had like 3) properly reinstalled in the wall: they were not sitting flush to the wall due to a remodel. My concern wasn’t price it was the up sell. I decided against the “NEW” electric plug installation, it was the gfi plugs being installed recessed to the wall was my original intentions only. His solution was to replace 4 GFI plugs and install one brand new one. While that was a great solution it’s not what I called for. I needed the GFI plugs just recessed to the wall and nothing more. The cost $1,450 to ensure I have a warranty on the installation was up selling. I just needed an electrician to install them by placing them back in the wall and I wasn’t looking for New GFI plugs .... the ones currently installed and actually still working all passed inspection. Thanks Powell Electric for taking $99.00 and not giving this lady an option to just fix the position of the GFI’s that were currently in place and still functioning. Nice person, and extremely professional but there hustle wasn’t for me. Buyer be aware (especially females) you don’t get hit with an unnecessary up sell tactic by Powell Electric. We know things are bad due to Corona Virus but enough.

I've used Powell Electric for a couple of jobs on a rental condo that I own. They're always on time, trustworthy, and professional. They also have stuck to their estimates on the work they've done for me. I would recommend using them for your electrical and lighting needs.

Wow. This is a fine example why it is good to get three quotes for a project, and to never trust a company who charges a fee for consultation without first looking at independent reviews such as Yelp. Wish I learned that lesson earlier.By the time Powell Electric arrived at my home, I had already received two separate quotes of $3,450 and $4,850 from two other local companies for a 200A panel upgrade. Neither of them charged me a fee for their quotes.Powell Electric charged me $99 for a quote of $9,980 for the same 200A panel upgrade (which is provided as a boilerplate quote-see photo), plus an additional $4,290 to install two 50A NEMA 14-50 circuits within 25 feet of the panel in the garage. Had their quote been in the same ballpark as the others, I wouldn't have felt bad about the consultation fee, but given it was essentially a 'no-quote' they gave me, this felt like theft.EDIT: I see I got what appears to be the standard canned reply that you can discuss their prices with them if they’re not what you expect. While this would seem reasonable if the quote was in the ballpark of other quotes, it feels like a deflection from the real issue here. My quote was so high that trust goes right out the window.And what’s with the recent rash of 5-star reviews with short, little or no detail comments? Go check out Yelp; it’s a better picture over there.
Doug came and was extremely professional and responsive, thorough and knowledgeable. We haven’t decided if we are going to use the services they quoted for us but have full confidence in their ability if we do.

The technician was very good. The snag here is the cost that the company charges. It’s greatly inflated. And dealing with the handler who responds to these honest postings is a company man' who has little signs of humanity or ethics. This is an absolute money scam. I'll do whatever I can to spread that to unsuspecting folks. Truly, a sign of this times; emblematic of the last five years have been. Nobody cares about anything other than the $$$ and stealing it anyway they can - without an ounce of integrity.

He was very knowledgeable and explained why the circuit breaker tripped. I guess I have too many air fryers?! So now I know what NOT to do, which is run them at once on the same circuit! Not only was Mariano prompt, he was super nice and thoroughly went over and explained everything that he needed to do. He checked what I thought wasn’t working, confirmed it was accurate and double checked my breaker panel to make sure it wasn’t more extensive than just the one breaker itself. He just made sure that not only the plug was fine but the breaker as well. Great company and I would totally use them again!!!

Dave and Caesar were my servicemen and they were great. They replaced my old outlets, replaced a bad transformer in one of my kitchen lights and put in a new outlet for the outdoor tv that I plan to put in. They were able to install the new outlet even in the rain. Whenever I have an electrical issue, I always call Powell Electric. Their service is great and they are very responsive.

1. The technician cut what he thought was an inconsequential cord. It turns out the cord was somehow connected to the power source for the garage door. We were forced to plug the garage door cord into an outlet on the far side of the garage, using two extension cords, to get the garage door system to work. We have yet to rearrange this set-up. I do not understand how a trained electrician could be so careless.2. Regarding the estimate Powell was called to provide, the technician informed me that the job would cost $4000.00. When he called in to confirm the estimate, he was told it would cost less than $3000.00. It is very concerning that this technician so readily provided inaccurate information.Lastly, this technician came within six feet of me more than once. I am not clear why he had trouble remembering to maintain social distance, but this was one reason I declined to allow him to stay to troubleshoot the problem. All and all, working with your company was a very disappointing experience.

Scheduled me for next day, which was great. Jason was thorough and able to troubleshoot what turned out to be an odd situation (coins / change had landed in a fixture) when he could have sold me easily on rewiring the whole room. Very knowledgable, nice, efficient. I will definitely call them again.

Dana was great and provided all the options and he was very professional. The issue i have is with the pricing. The quote for installing a nema 14-50 was given as $1200.00 which is at least 800 more than other quotes I got from different providers which are also licensed. as the visiting charge is $99 it would be better to have a online quote based on nature of work being requested and change it only if some extraordinary circumstances are found. I payed $99 because i agreed to pay before the visit..but I feel someone took my $99 for nothing..

We paid to have the technician come to our house for three electrical issues. When making the appointment, I asked for a ballpark estimate for the services. The rep could not give me an idea of cost for anything. Once the tech (very nice guy) came, he called the company for pricing and we were absolutely shocked at the quoted prices for any of the fixes! It was outrageous pricing! $90 later, the tech left and nothing had been fixed. The company needs to be able to give typical price range for certain common fixes or projects. What a waste of time and money!!

Raul did a good job and was friendly. The issue was that the price was $499 for an outlet and move a switch. Way too high based upon material cost and time to complete. You guys need to be more fair on your pricing.
The process was convenient, but price seemed very high. The tech was professional and did a good job. I thought the pricing was very, very high. It worked out to be $800 for less than 90 minutes of relatively routine work: replace a cieling fan remote receiver and replace an easily accessible outdoor wall socket that was defective. I had them write an additional quote for a new electrical outdoor wall socket and that was $2,395.00, which I thought was outrageous, so I didn't have them do it. I would have liked to see a standard price sheet to be sure I was being priced fairly and not based on driveway pricing. In the end, I paid for the convenience.

Greg was here this morning to upgrade a ceiling box and install a new fan. He was friendly, efficient and we hardly knew he was here. Covered the entire room with plastic sheeting for protection, cleaned up every scrap when he finished. He also covered his shoes while in our home. I want to start off by saying that both the electricians that completed the work were very professional, hard working, and knowledgeable. I was able to get an immediate appointment but the work was not able to be completed on the day of the appointment because of unforeseen circumstances. The reason I rated them two stars is because I was charged an excruciatingly large amount of money for the work that was completed. I had a couple electricians look at my billing receipt and based on the parts and the labor (time) an estimation of $500/hr. was what I was charged. As well as the service provided turned out, it was not worth the financial gouge. I feel like I was financially taken advantage of by the company. I would not recommend it.

The whole process was effortless on my part and I greatly apreciate the high level of customer service received from service level to office. Highly recommend!

ETA was between 12-3. I called Powell at 3, since one has reached out to me. I was given a window of 30 more mins. About 50 minutes later the technician arrived.Juan was courteous, professional, thorough & used Covid safety precations. He was very helpful in explaining his findings & repair recommendations. Unfortunately the pricing is not in my current budget and I'll have to hold off. Fortunately I was assured by Juan that the wiring was fine in both the light fixture & attic.I question the slogan we'll fix it in a flash as I made an appt on Monday & given a Wednesday date. Also, if I could have afforded the $1,000 quote, the repair date would have been two days out. The quote woukd be to install an electrical box with one that supports a ceiling fan and installation of a new ceiling fan which I had in my possession.

Steve promised to change a light switch to a plug but didn't do it on the day of service. Also he did confirm the location of the new plug by measuring the new oven. He was very good last time which is why I requested him and left him to do the work with my mom at home.

The technician was fine, no issues,there was a loose wire , however his supervisor did not honor the $49 coupon?and he had a poor excuse that coupon applies after the $99 initial fee,there was no where on their coupon stating that the coupon only applies after the initial $99 flat fee,it said coupon applies if the work is done? Raul arrived 10 minutes early, was beyond thorough! He was very friendly, and funny, he did the job in record time, took pictures of how everything was arranged in the house to be sure it was put back correctly and cleaned up after himself with a mini shop vac as he worked. I’m not going to lie and tell you that there wasn’t a pretty big sticker shock moment for me but he doesn’t set the pricing, the main office does. Raul is a gem.

Powell electric charges $90 for a quote. We got quoted $4000 for a job that another electrician quoted us $1500 for. They are absolutely ridiculous with their prices and because we didn’t go with them we lost our $90

Did a thorough inspection of the problem, the estimate for the damage repair seems very fair; and a possible other option for a repair was noted. A repair technician that shows up on time, knows what he or she is doing - always is what I am looking for. I would hire Doug and Powell Electric again if needed.

We had an unusual job with real no gauge of how much it might cost or how long it could take. Mariano was friendly, professional, walked us through it and was done in less than 30 minutes.Highly recommend!
We had called numerous electricians and no one called back. Finally the jingle for Powell Electric came to mind. A fellow named Steve came and made us feel incredibly secure with what we needed done. They were able to accommodate our tight schedule. So far very happy!
After reading the reviews here, I agree that Powell Electric overcharges their customers and appears only interested in collecting their $99 trip charge. I had lighting problems in my commercial business. Their guy popped open ONE flourescent fixture, closed it and said I had major problems. Gave me a FIXED PRICE estimate of $3200 and said they couldn't send someone out for THREE days and job would take TWO people about FOUR hours. I declined. Had another electrician come out and he fixed the problem in 30 minutes with $10 in parts. He was going to charge me $120. I was so relieved, I gave him $200 in consideration of how much he saved me. Powell's technician provided completely inadequate and incomplete troubleshooting of the problem. The reviews here are spot on. They obviously spend quite a bit on advertising as I see their ads all over TV and the Web and at the top of search results...now I see how they can afford it.
Stephen was top quality, efficient, confident. However, his company’s quote was very high. You decide - install new rope lighting to replace existing burned out rope lighting in a 15x15 inset was quoted at $1500.
I felt it should have been $500-750 allowing for fair profit margin.

Just wanted to let you know that Dana, Doug, and Oscar G. did a great job fixing our bathroom's electrical problems. From the first phone call to the last goodbye. I have been totally impressed with Powell Electric's customer service. You guys were prompt, organized, and clear about everything. I appreciated the phone calls letting us know when a technician was on the way and the fact that you didn't keep us waiting for long periods of time for someone to show up. Best of all, Dana and Doug were super friendly. We have a lot of animals in the house and both Dana and Doug were really conscientious about not stressing them. They both seemed to know their jobs very well. After Doug and Oscar left, everything was put right back in its place just as they found it...and of course, it is great to have electricity in the bathroom again! Many thanks! I would recommend you highly to anyone.

This is not against the technician who visited, but when we got our quote, we realized that we just wasted $100 since there was no way we were going to pay their outrageous prices. We were quoted $500 by another vendor for the exact same work, but decided not to go with it because the other vendor was rude. We decided to have Powell come out, not thinking we would be quoted $3000 to install a ceiling fan, have a plug moved, and another one replaced.I should have known better.
Powell was the second company i called. 1/2 of the circuits were out. They came out same day and William identified the problem within 10 minutes. He suggested I could get Edison to fix it free, but I didn’t want delays and a possible runaround or blame shifting from SCE. I paid a nominal amount for William to do the work which took less than an hour and all is good.Contrast to the first call I made. Diagnosis took over an hour after which I was given 3 options ranging from $9000 to $17000 to fix the problem. This was a reputable company, too. If it seems high, get a second opinion!

Mariano was very polite and helpful. He did take care of one of the things we wanted done but we are going to get other bids on the other two.
Powell Electric responded to a work order requesting a quote on changing four electrical receptacles from a two prong to a three. Powell has a service call minimum of $ 99.00 the quote was for $ 1,990. We paid for the service call and found another electrician who completed the work for $250.00. The Powell Electric work order made me feel like I was taken for a service call/one hundred dollars. Please note the amount of people in our local Community that feel the same way as I do on yelp.

I have had Powell Electric out to my house a few occasions over the years. The last two technicians that helped me were beyond outstanding. Stephen and Miguel both took care of everything I needed, and I really felt like they followed my instructions while at my home.I was having some wiring done for a door entry key pad and doorbell system, which required them to work inside and outside of my house. They left every room neat and clean as they went in and out of my house, never bringing any dirt inside or leaving trash around. They actually cleaned up everywhere they were working!No matter what they were doing or where in my home they were working, they were considerate. If the power had to be turned off, they let me know so that I could shut down my computers ahead of time.When each one finished, we walked through the work and tested everything. Their expertise really shined, and I could see they took their careers seriously. I would have either of them back to my house to work any time!
Let me say straightaway that my interaction with Mariano was the deciding factor in my decision to go with Powell Electric (even though the actual work that I agreed to doesn't begin until tomorrow, Wed. 7/03). Everything he explained to me, and showed me in the electrical distribution panel seemed spot-on, even though it directly contradicted the informed opinions of the jackleg electricians I've had around here. I qualified for your no interest, 12 month credit loan, and the 2 year warranty sealed the deal. Mariano returns here tomorrow to start and complete the job. I fully expect to be satisfied with Powell Electric and be able to recommend your work.

Arturo was very punctual, professional, and very helpful. I was a bit shocked when told how much it would cost to change a single switch to a double, and move the electrical box only an inch or two. In the end, I am confident that it was done properly and to code and that peace of mind is worth the price. I plan to call them back for any future jobs.

We called Powell Electric to have someone fix/install/rewire our Skybell(similar to Ring) doorbell. Arturo came out to my house. He was on time, presented his business card, and offered to put booties on his feet to keep my floor from getting dirty. Pretty impressive!! He was professional, courteous and most of all knowledgeable. He knew exactly what needed to be done and finished quickly! I was so happy with Arturo and Powell Electric! I will definitely call them again!

Had Powell electric out to look at an issue with the power to my spa heater. They were very polite and professional. They gave me a quote for $495.00 to replace the needed part. I thought the quote was excessively high so I paid the service call ($73.00) looked up the part online and picked it up at Mag Trol in Long Beach for $34.00 and Installed it myself. This is the second time I have attempted to use Powell Electric both times there pricing was ridiculous. One star for professionalism but I am trying to be nice.
I bought a dishwasher for 999.0 at home depot and to put in an electrical plug. (wires were there) a ten minute job. It costs me 850.0 for Powell to hookup. Why so much? No one at Powell could tell me. Feel taken advantage of. Will not use them again.
About a week ago, Powell sent Raul to my condo for a problem I was having with my bathroom light and a heater unit. He was very professional, introduced himself with a positive attitude, put on his red booties, and got right to work. After a short amount of time he found that the light bulb was just not sitting properly. He adjusted the socket and problem 1 was solved.The heater was a different situation. The unit had been in there for a long time and I think its best days were passed. Raul suggested we replace the unit with a new model, and he showed me a unit that would fit into the location and get my bathroom warm again. I had him replace the unit. Raul returned the next day and took care of the replacement. He did very clean work and I felt the price was fair for what needed to be done. Thanks Raul - I'll have you back if I ever need electrical work again.

One didn’t show up at scheduled time, one came over and said he could try to fix the issue but can’t guarantee what’s wrong, and one said he would have to return!Dana from Powell arrived on time, Fixed the issues quickly and Spent time explaining the problems. How can I adequately thank you for the superb sales and service I received recently.I initially called for three small tasks: fix the balcony light fixture; replace socket for three-way lamp; and fix an outlet.When Dana arrived, he assessed my requests. Then he noticed the smoke detectors -- they needed updating/replacement. He also noticed some cords that were not up to code. Those cords always caught my attention and I knew they should have been placed in the wall when the job was completed in November.So I agreed to the full job.Today, as I look at the repairs, especially the cords, I realize how pleased I am to have all that work completed and safely installed. Each time I look around, a big smile comes over my face. What a morale builder!Please extend my gratitude to Dana, Juan, and his partner. I did complete a survey card. I highly recommend Powell Electric to anyone ,and have referred them to many of my friends who all agree. Not only do they do the job right, they are well priced too. Luis came to my house promptly , and he was very professional, polite and fixed my electrical problem with no fuss . I had some lights not working and he found the problem on the circuit. He did me a favor and replaced it. He even wore red booties and cleaned up after himself. I keep their number stored in my phone now just in case of emergencies!
Came home from a 3 week holiday to find 1/3 of our electricity was off. Flipping breakers didn't work, so I looked on the net for a recommended electrical service. Called Powell and was given a time that day! The serviceman - Mariano - was pleasant, precise and knowledgeable. He quickly solved the issue and saved me much anxiety! I would highly vouch for this firm and in particular Mariano!

Doug was on time to install a new ceiling fan and light. Unfortunately, when taking down the old light, he realized because safety codes have changed since the original installation the additional work was too expensive snd the installation was not completed. He explained the situation thoroughly.

First, they do not charge by the hour. One fee to analyze which is cancelled if they do the job. He was courteous and very knowledgeable. Showed up with a neatly packed truck with all he would need. Had this problem which. we had been working on for two years with oven engineers and other electricians. He fixed it in 2 hours !
William the inspector or really the salesperson whichever he was did not do an investigation to determine what my issue was. I have a circuit that powers off and stays off for sometimes up to two days then comes back on. The circuit breaker does not trip. He told me that all the wall outlets were on the same circuit when factually they are not. When the power trips two bedrooms still have power the living room and the other bedroom do not. There is no way they are on the same circuit. Everything was unplugged when he arrived. Power was on in the circuit when he came out. He did not plug in equipment to see if it would overload the circuit and cause it to go out without the breaker tripping. Quoted $2400-2500 price to add a new circuit the load. Waste of money and time.P.S. Was told when calling for the inspector to come out the $79 charge would be deducted from the job cost but was not

I'm grateful that I called the Powell Electric company. Jaime was a compete professional. After asking a few questions regarding my home's electrical issue, he went straight to work. He worked efficiently. Although, it was a simple repair, he took the time to explain his findings and how to resolve same issue in the future. He even answered a question that I had about the fire alarms. I trust their work!
Just like they say in the commercial, our issue was fixed in a flash. We were provided great information on questions we had about potential future projects as well. We will most definitely use Powell Electric again.

You guys are a ripoff & I’ll be making a complaint to the Better Business bureau ASAP! DO NOT HIRE THEM! READ ALL YELP REVIEWS FIRST! They come out, quote you a fee that is 3 or 4 times what the job should cost, and then collect their $99 service fee for coming out. It’s deplorable!UPDATE: One of the field supervisors, Sam, reached out to me the very next day after my service and review. He very quickly offered to refund the $99.00 in order to resolve my dismay. I appreciate the gesture and swift customer service.

Their electricians arrived promptly (and always after a same-day call from the company to confirm the appointment), were pleasant and well-mannered, and they always cleaned up after themselves. Terrible...so much for Google guarantee.I have a small light fixture above the bathroom mirror and I want to move it up 10. The man from Powell electric looked at it and quoted $850. I believe it's a scam because when I say no he will collect $99. I said no and paid. The same day I called three other electricians they all quoted between $120-160. The job was done the following day for $140 and it took 30 minutes .
Brian was very professional and polite. He actually showed me how to make a fixture work that I thought was broken. I could not be more pleased with a professional service!

After trying for a month to get 4 different electricians to show up at my house, the first estimate I received involved doing a complete service change and rewiring the entire house. Needless to say I needed a second opinion. That's when I called Powell Electric. They were professional and courteous. They fixed the problem which was caused by a couple bad circuit breakers and a bad outlet. The whole repair took less than 1.5 hours. They had all the parts they needed on their truck and fixed the problem without taking advantage of us. Honest, ethical and reliable. This is what a service company should be. I highly recommend them. My service rep, Jaime Ambriz was top shelf and Powell Electric will be my electrician's for life!
I wish this company weren’t so expensivve, However for any project lstgr it small they send out several layers of people. We had an outlet in our patio room that went bad and it controlled other outlets and switches in there. They had to cut out the fixture to replace it because it was riveted into the metal part of the wall. It cost more than I was expecting but they did a great job and were very responsive when we thought we had a problem that turned out to be nothing.

The technician that came to my home was very professional and thorough, however, he wanted to charge me almost $3000 for the job. With a quote like that, I called another electrician to get a second opinion. While he agreed that the path Powell Electric wanted to take was a fine one, there were ways to avoid such a big job. That other electrician fixed the issue for $200. I'm done with Powell.

I have had estimates twice from Powell. The first was a high quote estimate for electrical work that after having a second opinion did not need to be done and the second was another high estimate for replacing an exhaust fan, second opinion estimate was for less than half of theirs. Will not ever have another estimate done from them. They are very quick and polite but felt that I was gouged with their pricing.
My technician was prompt, courteous and professional. He was very knowledgeable and patiently explained all aspects and options related to my service call and future improvement plans I had. I could not have asked for better service. Thank you Stephen ?
I will ask for Mariano by name from now on. A really nice guy and a local, for me, so he understands the issues in the older houses like mine. Identified my problem in the first couple of minutes and fixed it shortly after.
They do the work I need to, they do it well. Granted, I actually am related to them, which I am not always willing to admit. Then again, they usually do not want to admit to being related to me. Putting that aside, the people they send our excellent and the work they do always works. Updating review in 2021...after another visit...did what it took after an apparent product issue (not their fault...the device) to get it right. New again in 2021...Doug got it done, explained it, and now the distressed light fixture ain't distressed anymore.
As a former electrician, I can say that Raul performed excellent work on a tricky installation. Would hire again without reservation.
I was hopeful they would make a difference by adjusting the outlets in my bedroom, restoring lighting in the dining room and kitchen. They only checked bedroom for power, ignored dining room, removed old 220 box line from kitchen and did something to ceiling wiring for which they charged $6,950 dollars of our hard earned retirement money. Leaving us to still run power hazard power strip around bedroom, sink light in kitchen unable because of flashing, blinking, and dining room needing a lamp to add extra light. Terrible. Then quoted $5,000 to fix diningroom. My husband was recoupering from illness and I so, I'm just doing my review. They seem to be TV ads and smoke and mirrors. Regretfull.

I just had Powell electric come out last week and install a chandelier and sconces in my dining room. I've always used Powell electric for every job since I moved into my house in 2005. They always go above and beyond the call of duty - my house was built in 1939 and the wiring was not updated, so they have fixed many many things for me, in addition to helping me with my outdoor lighting, installing fixtures, smoke alarms, surge protectors etc.I love them because they are always professional and efficient, and they are clear about the scope of work, and do what they say they are going to do.I read the other reviews and it appears that the main complaint is the price. I honestly have no idea whether Powell Electric is more expensive than other places - because I don't shop around and I just call them - but if they are I assume it's because each electrician is thoroughly vetted, and they are well taken care of. Most of the electricians on the Powell team tell me they were independent contractors until working for Powell, and they would never go back because Powell takes such good care of them benefits-wise. Personally, for me, this is important. Almost as important as the fact that they are background checked.But the bottom line is that the work is always perfect - never a problem. So I'd rather make it right the first time.
So my wife called today for an electrician to do two things in our home. Fix a garage light fixture and replace a bathroom light fixture with one that she had. The gentlemen from Powell Electric wanted $400.00 to replace a ballast and $249.00 to hang a new light fixture in a bathroom. We paid the 99.00 service fee that you need to agree to before they give you a price. I asked him to leave. I watched a You Tube video on changing a ballast. Went to Home Depot paid $23.67 with tax for a new T8 4 120/277 Phillips Ballast. Installed it in under an hour. I will also be installing the bathroom light. The price they are asking is exorbitant. Look elsewhere or do it yourself. You Tube is a great resource. I have read other reviews today and can not believe this company stays in business.

Dave, Cesar and Brian identified and resolved a problem with our panel expertly. Between the three of them, they located a faulty wire created by another electric company, re-wired the panel and restored power. There was a minor complication with a breaker that was shut off accidentally, but Powell came quickly to resolve the issue
Luis came today to rescue a ceiling fan and install and install a new ceiling fan which I had a new one in the box. Luis called the office for a price. Luis came in with a quote of $1,290.00 dollars. I would not recommend this company to anyone especially Seniors... I hope they enjoy the $78.00 dollar service call fee. Stay away from these guys.

The service provider was very pleasant and competent.
Greg did a great job, quick and knowledgeable. He didn’t have part on truck so needed to reschedule half the work, but scheduled for next day and morning.
People always say dealing with contractors/tradesmen is a pain in the butt. Well that sure wasn't my experience with William from Powell Electric. I needed someone to trouble-shoot and fix a serious problem at one of my apartments because the tenant was screaming bloody murder. William showed up right on time just as scheduled. He was neatly dressed, clean and very professional. He had all the equipment and materials needed right there on the truck which let him get the job done quickly. He must have known his stuff because the problem was solved in short order and an estimate for the cost of repair was reasonable. It was really nice to not feel taken advantage of even though it was an urgent matter. I would not hesitate to use Powell Electric again and am recommending them to all my friends and other apartment owners I know.
The technician Luis was fantastic. Very knowledgeable electrician and a pleasure to do business with. BUT, Powel Electrics prices are crazy high, I mean 4x's any other estimate I have received. No idea how anyone could afford that crazy price.
I am very impressed at the professionalism Dana did for me. Very thorough work. I would give him a five star except the price was way stiffer than I expected for a few simple work in an apartment unit.

They made me wait in the office for 2 hours and 40 minutes after doing 1hour of pure paperwork , so once I spoked with the recruiter he just told me they only work with Residential properties. They do not think on the person's personal time.Waist of 3hours of my personal time.

Wow...they're so expensive that it isn't even funny.I got a quote to replace some hardwire smoke detectors. Replace! Not new installations. No wiring needed and my ceiling is standard height, 8ft.Their quote was about $400 per! That's for parts and labor, each will take 10-15 mins max. I needed many of them switched out too, it wasn't a one off thing.That $400 per may have been reasonable for new installations, with wiring and patching walls if needed, but not for replacing an existing hard wired detector.I gave them two stars because they were quick and professional. I also paid their $100 service fee for the visit.

Scheduled Saturday. Didn't show . Reschedule to Tuesday. Person showed wanted $1150 to install a ceiling fan. Couldn't do job right then. Wanted to schedule next week for a ceiling fan. I called a local handy man - same day installation- $ 60.
Requested two additional electrical outlets be installed in upstairs bedroom in addition to upgrading panel from 100 amp to 200 amp. While Powell Electric sent a punctual, professional technician, the quotes were outrageous! With a straight face technician quoted $1120 per new electrical outlet and $9500 to upgrade panel. Got the work done by a different punctual, licensed professional for $210 per new outlet and $5000 for panel upgrade.

Hands down.If you are looking for a professional who is incredibly skillful with a friendly demeanor and a kind heart, select Powell Electric for your next electrical challenge. They rewired and hung an old chandelier - turning my Dad's I'll get to it someday five year nightmare into something that was done within a few short hours.The price is more than fair for what you get with Powell Electric.
Less than a month ago on 4/4/2019, I hired them to connect front pilaster lights to existing garage timer. Garage timer AND lights no longer working. Asked that they return today to fix, gave me a window of 1-4pm. Not a single call from them that they were running late. I called them at 3:30pm to ask if someone is still coming. They didn't know when someone may show up. Maybe someone will show up by 4, maybe not. Eventually said they could have someone out here in an hour. Well, now it's been almost 5 hours and they are a NO SHOW. I paid $379 to have them connect my lights to the garage timer. Waste of time and money. False warranty.

Powell electric came out to our inspection on a home we purchased. The home was built in 1950 with a remodel in 1980s. Lots of electrical issues. Their work is great and we really thought Sam was amazing!!
Don't call them if you are female. Called them to do a small project for me, should have been about $1,000 to $1,500. I have done numerous projects before so I knew the range it should. I walked the electrician through the project, he went to his car to call his office and came back 5 minutes later with a $4,500 estimate. Oh wait they will use the $99 you pay for the estimate toward it, still a bad deal!! I asked if he was kidding because it was just so far out of the ball park I couldn't believe it! Ladies beware, sad but true:(
PLEASE CHECK YELP FIRST - This company is overcharging on estimates by 4-5x even 10x what competitors charge and should not be in business if they find fools willing to pay this amount. I was quoted $25,000+ for minor repairs on outdoor lighting, a couple of new switches and a new outlet installation. Yes, you read that right, $25,000+!!! The new outlet, which is 1 quad dedicated circuit, was going to be over $6500 on its own. The next highest quote I got from a competitor was $1250. I don't know what kind of racket they're trying to get away with over there, but it's mind-blowing and disturbing. When my very kind and thorough technician Doug completed his inspection of my home he handed me these quotes and I was honestly speechless. I tried telling him politely that the numbers were exorbitant, being careful not to offend, but now that I've had a chance to recover, I'm simply left angry at how they could have a habit of overcharging by SO MUCH. Yelp is replete with reviews about this issue, it's obviously not an isolated event. I HIGHLY DO NOT RECOMMEND POWELL ELECTRIC. You will waste $99 on an inspection, where that is only bait to get you to feel obligated to accept their work.

Powell Electric is the Best Electrical Company out there. They are Honest and Upfront about their work and pricing.Most of All the Customer Service Representatives are ALL Knowledgeable and Caring. Tech was lovely but their prices are outrageously high! Charged $399 to replace one GFCI outlet! DO NOT CALL THIS COMPANY. $28 part and 15min job. Total rip off.

OUTSTANDING customer service and very knowledgeable of the issue. We instantly hired him for another job at our other rental property. Powell did an excellent job.
As I suspected, the Electrician was excellent, but the $77 got him in the door so that he could provide a $2,5000 quotation, which I rejected. It could be a legitimate appraisal, but I suspect that like others have said in reviews, your prices are overly inflated and your $77 specail is a door opener.. The Electrician was a very polite gentleman, but I believe he is programmed to awfulize situations.
Same as J De Nuccio's review. One of my recessed lights wasn't working. $76 to show up, inspect it and give me a bid. About $900 to replace with an LED ballast or $499 with a regular one. I usually don't mess with electrical problems myself but that seemed ridiculous so we sent him home. About 10 minutes of googling and I tried something myself. Literally as simple as unscrewing the bulb, pulling down the little brass piece with needle nose pliers, putting new bulb in. Done. Fixed. $0 and 2 minutes. The guy was either incompetent or a crook. Unacceptable either way.
Powell replaced a Timer switch with a new one (same shape and wiring) valued at $75 and replaced 2 light bulbs with 2 new scouce light bulbs. Total time less than 2 hours. Charge: $850. This charge is absolutely excessive and I consider a ripoff .Job # 304612

Service was prompt and Electricians were friendly. The only thing that prohibits giving a 5 star rating is the price. For two hours of work on a job I had done 30 years ago; with very little changes to my orginal work. Powell Electric billed $850 in what was basically labor (I provided the security light) they provided a couple of GFI recpticles, cover plate, a little conduit and wire that I could see. Seems quite steep for the work completed! If it wasn't for going into the holiday season and the security issues of the old light not working, I would have shopped around or completed the job myself for that price. Never did see any discount in price with all the advertising claims they have on television even after I asked about there TV ad. I was told it is reflected in the price (some discount....☹)

Powell came out to rewire some shady work that was done prior to me owning my home. They replaced outlets in my kitchen months before my kitchen was installed. When it was installed, one of the outlets wasnt working. They came out and replaced it swiftly with no issues. I will always use Powell electric for my electrical issues.

Mariano was a consummate professional who knew what he was talking about. No concerns about safety as he wore a mask, booties and gloves and continued to change out his gloves. Completely courteous and respectful.
First Off, My Grandmother (Homeowner) had neglected getting the fuse box checked on for over a decade and a half since Grandfather passed away in '01 so she kept getting rooms added by shade tree contractors plus buying major appliances before we were literally going out to the fuse box everyday. Finally, she (we all) had enough as food in the 2nd fridge was in danger of being a total waste. My Aunt called the toll-free number and asked for the special. The Powell electrical technician came out the next morning and just me & my Grandmother was home to meet him.I forget his name, I'm almost certain Powell train their techs very well in quality senior citizen/elderly customer care! He was magnificent, dealing with her 1-on-1 then looking to me to make sure that everything he said was fully understandable. He went over every detail of her estimate & contract perfectly & then (I'll say painstakingly, forever) waited patiently for her to decide if she was ready to bring a complete halt to electrical problems that had been present in the family home for far too long 2 rooms & 2 bathroom additions later.Grandmother, finally agreed to the high estimate; Powell tech called the home office & offered us 2 estimates, 1 with new electrical outlets in the most important rooms (kitchen & master bed) & 1 estimate without the extra outlets which was cheaper of course. Powell tech took a deposit & confirmed when the work will be done & before the next weekend, we were problem free in the electrical department. It was as if I could feel the difference in the house after they had finished on both the 1st & 2nd days. Even more importantly, I had classes and apologized that I had to go, they said Sure, No Problem and when I returned they had neatly removed almost everything out of her kitchen neatly & as organized as possible in to the family room & den. Upon my return late that afternoon, I was so impressed I told the 3 techs I will put the kitchen items back myself. They still vacuumed & swept fully, making it easier for me to put the kitchen back to her level of comfort easily! I hate to mention this, but I am sure there are many businesses who do not pride themselves on quality & careful elderly & senior customer care yet I am so glad that Powell Electric not only stands by it they put it in writing and have not just my Grandmother's name on all documents but mine too as a family member who lives there who can attest to all being true! Overall, I cannot imagine going with any one else in the future but Powell Electric for even my own needs as a future real estate investor & you will hear from me in the future! Thank you tremendously Powell Electric, from my family to yours because whenever (My Grandmother) the 86 year-old matriarch of the family is happy everyone is certainly happy!

ABSOLUTE RIP OFFS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Quoted me $1250 to change 2 pendant lights to plug ins. Then we said NO WAY it doesn't sound right for 20 mins work. So we had to pay $99 just for him to come and quote that, because we thought that price was too expensive! WHAAAT!!!So after asking on social media, I found another electrician that came and did the job for only $90!!!I called Powell Electrical to ask why their quote was so much more expensive and he was so rude to me on the phone and said I should have gone with that guy in the first place - didn't make sense.Please read these reviews and do your research because I really wish I did!!!! I would have an extra $99 in my pocket!!!! And I definitely don't think your taking any of these bad reviews on board otherwise you wouldn't keep ripping people off!!!

I call to have a led light power supply installed, told them it was 15 to 18 ft high. I said the only thing you need is a tall ladder, I have the part. They come out look at the part, look at the lamp and say $850 to come back, we need a big ladder. So I pay the $100 fee and I’m right back were I started... should have just rented a ladder. Powell has contacted me and we have reached a positive resolution. I would recommend them based on this follow up and concern for customer satisfaction. Thanks

Ripp off, Highway Robbery to say the least, The wanted 900.00 Dollars to replace a Ballast, that cost 35.00 dollars and 5 minutes to replace, they charged me 76.00 to come out and tell me they are crooks. Do not ever, ever use Powell Electric. I did it my self, 4 wires tied together one screw 5 minutes, 35.00 for the Ballast. Always get a second estimate, try other company's FIRST that do not charge for your estimate. NEVER, NEVER call Powell Electric.those crooks are still in business, what a shame

Hired Powell for misc work I needed done. They were ontime, polite, clean and upfront about everything. The work was top notch and the price was fair. I'll hire them for all my future needs.
Powell Electric is my go to for any and all electrical issues. They are always super friendly, courteous and give EXCEPTIONAL service. They've installed a ceiling fan, replaced an outlet and more recently installed a new panel and generator so we don't have to go without power during power outages. If you want the job done right the first time, call Powell Electric!

I have to say my experience with Powell Electric is $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ to say the least. Less than an hour of work cost me $390 (originally quoted $449 and I talked them into reducing $50). I should have gotten another estimate before I had the work done. Well you learned from mistake. I thought they are reasonably priced electric company according to their Ad on TV. Later I talked to another electrician and he told me he would have charged me around $150 for what Powell did. No more Powell Electric for me.

As usual, good customer service. Technician was on time. I like knowing who's coming , and what they look like, so POWELL sends a text with that information. Powell ain't cheap, but reliable, reasonable, and they stand behind their work. I have been a customer for a long while. And will continue to be a POWELL customer. They also havespecials. I don't think they take advantage of WOMEN , Sr CITIZENS or PEOPLED WITH DISABILITIES .I also used them for exterior lighting , and CHRISTMAS LIGHTS ,in front of my house, and patio.8/7/18POWELL ELECTRIC just left. They finished the work from yesterday. I'm VERY VERY HAPPY with the workers, and the results. Now i can enjoy my 70th birthday present, a HOT TUB, safely. They also cleaned up their mess,not very messy, but they cleaned the area where they were working. They did what they said they would do, and did it to my satisfaction. I'm a very happy camper!???

Total rip off. Came out to tell my ballast was bad, which I had already told them before they came out. Then wanted to charge me $450.00 to change out the entire fixture. Only needed a $50 ballast. Also charged me $99 for just looking at my light. Bait and Switch company praying on people who don't know better. Luckily I do. Ended up fixing the fixture myself.

The two for Powell Electric Doug was so knowledgeable, courteous & professional. He answered all our questions and explained everything so well. We will be recommending Powell to everyone.
Technician checked three light switches abd found them to be in working order. Loose fitting light buld was the problem. New light bulb installed $79. Cost to install a new light fixture (which we supplied)... another $399. We said no... Ridiculously high cost!!!

This company is a complete scam. They'll come out to your house and charge you $99 to do so and then quote you an exorbitant price. I was quoted $300 for a wiring job from another company and Powell quoted me $3,000, for a three hour job with minimal materials required. Stay far far away from this company. They just are using you to take the $99 and not provide any service.

Provided detailed assessment of what was needed to correct an electrical problem after a small fire occurred due in the wiring. Greg was courteous and professional. Used PPE as a safeguard against the Covid-19 virus.
First time user via their commercial. Very professional. Called when they said they would Arrived when they said they would. Technician was neatly dressed, professional, presented his card, and went about fixing the problem, plus two small electrical issues. Very pleased. Reasonable. Price. Definitely a keeper.

This company is a complete scam. They charge you $99.00 for an estimate come to your house and quote you an exorbitant price for a simple job. Then walk away with your hard earned money. Guy didn't even put back what he took apart. I had to fix it myself. Don't believe their bologna! Better Business Bureau, here I come!
The technician arrived on time and was very professional. He was able to diagnose the issue and solve my problem rather quickly. I would definitely use Powell Electric again!
Raul was very attentive and helpful and very knowledgeable and he thoroughly explained what needed to be done. There are some decisions I need to make. Overall, I was very satisfied by his service.

Requested a simple repair: get pool.motor started. It was fine until a week ago. Instead, I’m told the whole yard has to be dug up at a cost of $23,000!!!! Oh, they’ll turn on the pool light for $5990!! What a bunch of crooks. Greg was polite and nice but he wasted my time and his. You should
be ashamed.

Powel Elect sent out ‘Doug’ with a pre approved site eval charge of $99.After Doug, an incredibly kind & knowledgeable guy, realized my job was not part of Powells services, he not only ‘WAIVED’ the site fee, but gave me alot of very good advice about my job emabling me to re think my plan and go another direction! This is the OLD SCHOOL service that is incredibly hard to find in any business these dayes, and this single father of 3 is overwhelmingly appreciative!!! ☺️Thank you Powell Electric... ??Brian Armstrong

We were very pleased with the service. Our repair man was extremely knowledgeable. We had three different repairs for him to do, and we are looking forward to his return visit. There wasn't anything he couldn't do.
Dave and his crew were fantastic! They were kind knowledgeable and worked very hard for us to achieve our wants for our house!!!

My service call was to diagnose the problem with an attic fan. The technician, Steven, was polite, knowledgeable, and helpful. Unfortunately, the estimate for fixing it was too high.
Technician did a great job. Highly recommend Powell Electric. .

Luis came quickly. He was very professional and maintained the social distancing. He wore a mask also. He gave me sound advice on the beat way to attack the problem with the least cost.
Very efficient and friendly staff. Needed to find out what the issue was and they were able to pinpoint the problem and provide a resolution quickly.*Update to another day.... They came back exactly when they said they would and while correcting the issue that needed to be resolved, they were nice to notify me of another issue under the house, that if I did not know about it would have gone unnoticed and cost me a lot more money to fix it then rather than getting ahead of the issue and correcting it now.
Mariano Reyes was a pleasure to work with. His advise/recommendation was spot on for my electrical needs, and saved me thousands of dollars over what I was intending on doing.
Powell Electric came out twice for two different reasons. Both times they were able to come the day I called and fix the problems immediately.
Very very nice and helpful electricians. I won’t call anyone else!!!
