I've been coming to the specialty tools store for professional tree gear since 1999. This store has always had top-notch gear and the fact that it's local allows for you to see it in person try on the equipment if needed and make sure you're getting what you want before you buy it.
They are also very knowledgeable and helping you to determine what you might need for the job at hand.
Since the change of ownership, the store seems to be carrying more items in stock and is very motivated to deliver exceptional customer service. I would highly recommend anyone in the tree industry to stop by and visit the store in person.

(I have yet to experience this business nor have I had the opportunity to work with them.) BUT I WILL SAY!
However, as an ISA Certified Arborist and tree care PROFESIONAL and tree care business owner and operator, MY TIME IS VERY VALUABLE!
I for one do NOT give FREE assessments. (BECAUSE) I have worked very hard to accomplish my craft of a professional ISA CERTIFIED ARBORIST. My time is very important to me and my family. This is a skill I have crafted over nearly 20 years. My time, my experience, my knowledge, my fuel, and my craft SHALL not be taken advantage of or be accepted to be (FREE). We, as true professional arborist have worked hard in our craft. And it IS UNLIKE ANY OTHER. (Our work is typically in the top 10 most dangerous jobs every year). So please take that into account.
As for this business, their time is also VERY VALUABLE. PLEASE DONT CALL ASKING FOR A FREE EVALUATION OVER THE PHONE... PAY THESE PROFESIONALS THEIR WORTH. (What they ask.) The assessment/ evaluation fee should come off the top of their proposal if you chooset to have them do the work for you...
Otherwise, that payment goes towards  their TIME , EXPERIENCE, AND PROFESSIONAL KNOWLEDGE.
(They come to you) to assess YOUR trees. Give education, and give the best industry recommendations, use their time, their expertise, and their fuel. So PLEASE do not take ARBORISTS for granted. WE ARE THE BEST OF THE BEST. (You're more then happy to call a landscaper). (BUT, IF YOU THINK HIRING AN ARBORIST IS EXPENSIVE THEN TRY ONE THAT IS NOT).
STOP TAKING THESE PROFESIONALS TIME FOR GRANTED AND USE THEM..

tree trimming equipment , new owners a big plus ....... so if you didn't go there because of the old owners which I have herd more people never went there cause of the old owner well they are gone gone gone , new blood and nice environment , polite people , nobody talks down to anyone , verry enjoyable visit and purchase ..

I own a tree company in the valley and am constantly in the shop. They have a extremely knowledgeable and helpful staff. They have all the specialty and unique tools the arbor care industry requires. If you are in the business of trees and have not stopped by to check them out, you need to.

Called to get an estimate and was told $100 just to get an estimate on tree trimming. He said my doctor doesn't give me a discount on the office visit when he decides to do surgery when I asked if that would come off of the work if we went with them. Tons of companies will give you a price before you having to hire them so I thought people should be warned.

Just called to get some information. Spoke with Jim the arborist and he could not give me any information unless I paid the $175 consultation fee. When you call and ask a business what services they provide it would be helpful to give you some information and not a standard response I do not know unless you pay me to come look at it. I am not a tree expert but if you want someone to use your services please be able to explain what they are. It would of been HELPFUL if he explained what happens once he comes and looks at the tree and what can be done to save a tree. I understand what a consultation is for but it helps someone use your business if they know what they do after a consultation.

This place has great equipment and if you can get Tim to come out and give some advice about trimming a tree, it is worth it!

Bad, bad business. The Arborist came to my house when I was not home (I explicitly said in MULTIPLE emails what time to come) and was barely here 10 minutes. After many days, I finally get an email from Karen that says the Arborist can write the report for $200+ !! I told her my grievances and exactly how they could redeem their business (if they would just provide the report). Karen emails: obviously we cannot make you happy -- what ?? These are also her words: Obviously, we are not going to be able to satisfy you. I suggest you call another Registered Consulting Arborist. I am taking my 84 & 85-year old parents back to Wisconsin early Friday morning to see my ailing 83-year old uncle. So, I am trying to keep things in perspective and not let your words upset me. It seems like you have had a rough time lately and I truly do hope you and your trees will be ok.

How passive aggressive is that? I have no clue what she is talking about with me having problems -- maybe confusing me with ANOTHER customer??

I then called Arborvision, who are compassionate about trees, knowledgeable and trustworthy.. ArborVision removed a very old, very large tree from my front yard and had to use a crane... Hard work, yet they were cheerful and fair :)

I walked into the Artistic Arborist on a Monday 4 weeks ago to ask about treatment for aphids on my trees. I was told someone would get back to me that week to schedule the treatment. No one called. Week 2, I called to find out when I might be scheduled. I was told only one person, Tim, handles the treatments and he was out with the flu. So on week three I called again and was told Tim was back and would call me. He did not call. Week 4: Tim's back but the receptionist says he isn't scheduling chemical treatments that week. (??) Well today is the beginning of week five so I called and asked to speak to the scheduler directly. (I had only been able to speak with receptionists to that point.) He refused to speak to me directly! The receptionist came back on the line saying he still wasn't ready to schedule any chemical treatments. At that point I said forget it. I'm going to find another company and forget about the Arrogant Arborist!

Family run business by people who are in the industry and super friendly! If you need climbing gear or things to cut with this is definitely the place.

Friendly, knowledgeable, and have just about every climbing/rigging apparatus you could ever need.

This place is amazing the staff is knowledgeable and I felt like a kid in a candy store.

Get what you need for all your aboriculture needs!!
