Spartan Concrete

Spartan was an absolute disaster from day one. Their communication is horrific. Their laborers are just as problematic as their front office. I had them do the concrete work for my pool construction.

1. They’ve showed up unexpectedly without warning- even after I called the day prior to try to confirm a time.
2. They’ve neglected to properly latch my side gate several times. My dog got out and was lost for 4 hours in the heat because of it.
3. They left my back yard a complete mess.
4. There’s concrete NAILS everywhere, trash everywhere. I have Gatorade bottles all over my yard.
5. Mounds of concrete scattered all over my yard that I now have to pay someone to come clean up.
6. Instead of diligently moving boulders and rocks to a safe location they tossed them into the bottom of my pool.
7. When their laborers need to come talk to me they will ring the door bell and then just walk away instead of standing at the door and waiting for me to answer. It’s petty - yes. It when you have as many issues as I’ve had with these guys.. this is just another solid example of their lack of professionalism and customer service.
8. They’ve tried to blame me for not having my patio ready to lay the acrylic lace- but, I told them a week prior that we wouldn’t be doing that area. Instead of communicating properly- they just left and didn’t finish the job.

All around, this company has massive issues with communication, customer service, and doing anything in a timely manner. I am incredibly worried that they did a crummy job and I’ll have to end up dealing with their poor workmanship very soon down the road.

They have delayed my pool build on several occasions. Not to mention they will make you pay for the entire project of concrete work and the acrylic lace before the job is complete. If I could give them negative stars- I would.

We had our Kool Deck done through Spartan Concrete 3 years ago, they were the contractor California Pools used at the time for our pool remodel. It’s been just over 3 years and the Kool Deck is cracking and pealing. We were told that it was no longer under warranty. After making 5 phone calls to Spartan over a 4 month period and each time being promised that someone would call me back and that they stood behind their work and that I was right to be upset that the decking was already cracking. The finial call I was told “listen we are too busy to fix anything unless California Pools makes us fix it we will not do the work”. I went back to California Pools and they provided another contractor who came out immediately and gave me an estimate for repair. The original bill for our decking through Spartan was over $8000, the cost to repair their inferior work is going to cost us $1500. Would I use them again? Never! They do inferior work and then do not stand behind it nor will they repair what they installed even if you are paying the bill.

This company is a joke. They workmanship is even worse. My decking had issues from the beginning. Chips, cracks, uneven surfaces, causing retaining water. Company promised to come out several times to do repairs. Always had one excuse after another, just to put off repairs long enough, to get out of the responsibility or to prolong the process long enough, to be out of warranty. It was always an issue to get them to come do the repairs, either busy screwing over other people, or there excuse was the weather, or there staff, always something. They would call at the end of the day always, and the second you call them back no answer. Because they aren't smart enough to call customers when there office is open. Would rather call you when there closed, so you cant interact with them, so ridiculous. I had 2 different people out to my home from there company, that both claim to be the owners. Both of them promised to get the job done correctly, and still havent done it. My decking has been a nightmare with this company. All they want to do when they show up, is too epoxy everything and paint over it. I didnt pay for band aids on my decking, and just too cover the problem that needs to get fixed. I would definitely not use this company for anything, and if your pool company uses them, i would choose another pool company or ask your company to use a different decking company. My issue has been going on longer than 5 years, im just finally fed up and my patience is GONE!!! And it takes alot for me to complain, but i would hate for anyone else to go through what i have had to deal with. Buying a pool is a hard enough process and very expensive. Nobody deserves to go through what i have had to deal with. Stay away from Spartan Concrete.

Horrible works and they do horrible work. Wish the pool company we used would drop them and find a better company. Not professional customer service or in their work. If they did the work right they wouldn’t have to come fix it. Stay away from this company.
