I bought a new build home and hired Outdoor Xscapes to do the backyard landscaping. Joel did a beautiful design based on what I explained I wanted, with a very detailed and fair estimate. He showed how it would look at night when the lights were on, which none of the other contractors showed me. He also explained the warranty in great detail. All of that together sealed the deal for me to hire them. I got a patio overlay with pavers, walkway, drip system, lighting, artificial turf and many flowering plants. One plant died while under warranty and they were very prompt to replace it. I love my back yard!

Steve and his crew of Outdoor Xscapes transformed our backyard into our own personal oasis. My husband and I wanted something low maintenance, respectful of the desert (low water usage), beautiful enough to entertain, and with the ability to have a small garden. We got just what we asked for. We had received other bids, up to almost $40k for our small backyard - Ridiculous!! Outdoor Xscapes came in with a perfect bid and the work was quick, efficient, and beautiful. Steve was an excellent project manager and his crew were courteous and professional. My experience with Outdoor Xscapes was the best experience I have ever had with a remodel project. Joel, my salesperson, was extremely responsive through the entire process and he delivered exactly what he promised. The crew was fantastic - they showed up when they said they would, they worked hard, they were friendly and they finished the project ahead of schedule. I would recommend this company to anyone!

Best Landscape company out there! They made my backyard paradise for me and my partner. I cant wait to go out at night and watch the stars with him while listening to the soft sounds from my fountain. The only reason I went with this company, was because Joel was so tentative to our every need. He never failed to call and check in on us even after the project was completed. My wife and I, newly arrived to Mesa, AZ from Wisconsin, purchased a new home that required completion of the landscaping of our backyard. We decided to go with Outdoor Xscapes because of our interactions with Mr. Steve Marr. We were impressed with his professionalism, his honesty and his knowledgeable advice with a project we have never experience while owning a home. He is a man of his word. Each day his hard working crew would complete a specific project. His crew members were always on time and were considerate and respectful with our home property. After each work day, the crew cleaned-up the work area and when they left for the day it was as though they were never at our home...that's how good of a job they did! Steve would always follow-through with a phone call after each work day and ask me if I was satisfied with the work and if I had any questions. JOB WELL DONE STEVE MARR AND YOUR WORK CREW! When we were referred to Outdoor Xscapes, we weren’t expecting even close to what was provided us...meaning a timely start, excellent communication, friendly and responsive customer service and beautiful results! We got that, and more!
What brought us to Outdoor Xscapes was being put on continuing hold, delays and pushback from a different company we had planned on working with for over a year. When we were pushed back a final time, we no longer felt like a priority so we gave up and contacted Outdoor Xscapes via a personal referral. They were at our home within a day to review the project and after agreeing to take us on, they began delivering product by the following day. Working with the entire staff, from the business owner, the office staff, project designer, project superintendent as well as every person on site...everyone played a very impressive and important role and it was quite obvious, they all enjoy what they do and they love working for the company as most have been there for years.
I would like to let everyone know, not only do I recommend Outdoor Xscapes, I will be using them again very soon for our backyard paradise.

Me and my mom went to one of their homeshows so we can find someone who can remodel our pool and backyard and we happened to stop by their booth. One of the sales man (Joel), gave us his business card and we signed up for the free estimate. The project took some time but the outcome was amazing! Our backyard looks like a resort and we can't wait for summer so we can have our famous family BBQ.
I recommend anyone who wants to go into business with them.

Steve Marr with Outdoor Xscapes was wonderful to deal with. He patiently lead me through all of the options, making suggestions as needed and always listening to what I wanted. He even went above and beyond when the project was finished. The guys finished quickly and did an excellent clean up job. Would highly recommend! My backyard is a beautiful escape!

We used Outdoor Xscapes a couple years ago for our first initial project (some basic landscaping with pavers, travertine, lawn, etc), and we contacted them for a second round a few weeks ago. This time to build a bbq, fireplace, and a couple walls. Steve has been our designer for both projects and we could not be happier. The whole process went really smooth, the guys did a great job (the crew was really nice and super clean, and made sure that when they were done they wash the backyard area where they were working at), and completed he project to our desire. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Outdoor Xscapes to anyone looking for a great landscaper. Thank you guys!!

So pleased with the outcome of my project. The designer Garrett came and met with us personally and was able to give me exactly what I wanted. His 3d walk through designs were phenomenal. The job was finished in a timely manner without any issues. I would definitely recommend giving them a call if you want something unique and functional.

After being totally disappointed by a local landscaper I looked to Yelpers for a Landscaper to trust.
Joel and his team are very professional and are not afraid to tackle big jobs. Our new home needs TLC and the yard and land have been not been taken care of for a very long time.
Our irrigation system doesn't work. Many plants were diseased or infested. All the trees over grow/unbalanced. The previous owner threw garbage over the wall. UGH!
After 2 days of hard work our yard looks clean and healthy thanks to them!!
We will be calling Joel for our backyard paradise future plans.

We live in Mesa, AZ and Outdoor Xscapes and Steve Marr were referred to us by several friends that had used them for their backyard landscaping. They made our backyard look totally awesome and the crew that was here could not have been more polite and great to work with, considering it was well over 100 degrees, they still got the job done when promised and the clean-up they did was immaculate! We moved here from Colorado and worked with many landscapers there, but none were as meticulous as Outdoor Escapes! Thank you for a great patio!

The project was certainly out of the ordinary and challenging and Outdoor Xscapes followed my exact instructions. In spite of the time constraints due to having very little notice they finished with time to spare for my party

My husband & I can not say enough good things about Steve Marr & Outdoor Xscapes. Steve came recommended to us by our Handyman. From the start he was very professional & knowledgeable about what our yard & side yard could handle with regard to making it a perfect place to relax & entertain. He gave us wonderful suggestions and furnished us with a detailed plan and pricing that we went with and could not be happier with the results. Gave us paver's, lights, built in Bar-B-Q and artificial turf in the back yard and a pergola for our side yard. His attention to detail made the process so simple and done in a short amount of time. His employees where very conscious and also cleaned up after themselves each day. We are more than pleased, we are extremely satisfied. Hire them for a complete backyard demo and Remodel. And to reinstall sprinkler heads in our front yard. Have had them come back out to the property multiple times and job is still yet to be complete. Spoke with owner and was treated very very poorly. If job is not completed will be filing a complaint with the ROC. would not recommend this company to anyone

No one matches the touch that they can add to the houses. We were the first in the neighborhood to get a garden installed by Outdoor Xscapes and now everyone around is following. They do not just add flowers and plants, but they create a very soothing environment to spend time in the sunlight. Our neighborhood is catching up and occasionally, people stop by to have a glance at the houses. All credit to the Outdoor Xscapes.

So disappointed. Heard great things and saw good reviews. Wanted to hire them for full backyard on our new home. Not only did they not show for our scheduled appointment but we did not receive a phone call letting us know they had to cancel. We drove 2 hrs to meet for nothing.

We had them remove grass in the front and they were to cap off the existing sprinklers, but what they did in broke them off and left them that way. Then tried telling me that they just turned off that station which is not what we were told would be done. They came out today and capped them off they way it was suppose to be done to start with, but the supervisor on the phone will the guys were here still said that is not what they were to do. I would not recommend them to anyone after what happened.

Made an appointment 2 weeks in advance. The day of the appointment, I called to see when the crew would be showing up. They said they would call the crew and get back to me. A short time later they did call back and said they would not be able to make it and we would have to reschedule another week and a half out. Had I not called, I would have not know they were not going to show up.

My father used Outdoor Xcapes and they forced him to pay up front and 6 months later they still refuse to come back and finish the work. They keep jerking him around. Do NOT use them. Get a trustworthy company.

Good company to work with my job was simple yet very precise. It was done in a timely manner and ever since we finished my front yard, my neighbors have been using them as well.

I had this company quote us on building a pool in our back yard. Their process is easy to comprehend and their prices are reasonable. They stand behind their work. I highly recommend this company!

Steve Marr was the project manager for my landscape redesign.
Firstly, I asked him to keep the cost under $50K. After all his change orders and changes it came to over $70K. They did a total demo of the front and partial of the back including redoing the pool cool decking with travertine. The tile work around the pool looks awful, very poor workmanship. They left concrete exposed from under travertine edge to the tile in numerous locations (see pic). There are also a lot of cracked travertine tiles. I had given Steve certain plants that with color that I wanted and he said sure, no problem and then he picked out what he wanted or thought would look better. He chose mostly ugly desert style plants that I did not like, and I specifically asked him not to select. As of today most of the plants have died or had to be replaced. Partly because of a very poor job of planting them. It always seemed like they wanted to get in and out as soon as possible which lead to poor workmanship(see pic of poor planting job) They also ripped out my mature Tiff putting lawn when that was not part of the contract. They admitted the mistake and replaced it with ordinary Bermuda grass that is now full of low spots and weeds and charged me for the grass. Steve charged $13K for a built in BBQ with a BBQ Galore Turbo gas grill that had not worked properly. They told me I needed to get with the manufacture to get it fixed and I did, but they said that problem stems from Outdoor Xscapes poor installation job and
that they have warrantied all that they could. Steve also installed the Pro Trade low voltage timer and wiring for path lights and the timer has already gone bad. These timers have a lifetime warranty, however I have no documentation for it and Outdoor Xscapes is unwilling to provide their help. I have tried on many occasions to get Outdoor Xscapes help in fixing some of these issues but they are not responsive and refuse to return my request. The only customer service person that I can contact is a woman named Meghan who handles their booking and warranty. So far she has not been a help and has developed a very poor customer service attitude.

All-in-all, I would never use this company again and would advise others not to use them also. I found them at the Home and Garden show in Glendale....needless to say they have very slick salespeople but the company does not back up their claims for customer service.
