By no means is this a knock about the quality of work of First Plumbing, as we did not get to the point of them ever coming to our home. This review is for the unprovoked and extremely rude appointment setter who called to us to set up our appointment. A little background here...we were assigned this plumbing company by our home warranty company. We just purchased a home 3,000 miles away, and unfortunately, our hot water heater failed and leaked 50 gallons of water inside of our house, so we are trying to coordinate water intrusion remediation asap, and also the repair/replacement/evaluation of the hot water heater failure, from 3,000 miles away. The appointment setter called, and I could tell she was not very friendly right out of the gate. She simply said this is First Plumbing, and we have an appointment available in two days (Monday). No hello, how are you, my name is.... so I had a feeling that this call was not going to go well....so I simply said ok to the appointment, as I was trying fumble and grab my calendar to write down the appointment. I said I was sorry about the fumbling around, and explained to her what was going on regarding our dilemma and doing it long distance, etc...(this explanation took maybe about 30 seconds), and I simply asked her if she could give a note to the plumber to call our real estate agent and he would give the plumber the code to lockbox so they could get themselves into the property. She snapped back and said it is not their responsibility to obtain access codes to get into a property. So I admit that I got annoyed by her response, because she was so rude from the very beginning for no reason. I said listen....i'm just trying to get my hot water heater taken care of, and in a very dismissive and condescending tone, she claimed that she quietly listened to my story (as if listening to someone for maybe 30 seconds was an issue for her), and told me that I was the one being rude. So being the adult, I said I apologize if you feel I was being rude, but i'm just trying to get my hot water heater fixed, and I am not physically at the property to let the plumber in, so perhaps I should just call the home warranty company back and have them dispatch another company. She then said the other company would have the same policy. I told her to just forget it and to cancel the appointment, and told her even if I have to pay for a plumber out of pocket on my own, I would do it, because this was not worth it. We then called the warranty company back and told them about the incident. They apologized and said that they would also review our complaint regarding the appointment setter. They have assigned a different plumbing company to us now, so hopefully, and hope we will have a better experience when they contact us for an appointment.
