Ed Lee's Home Repair

Just used Ed Lee’s Home Repair Services for my plumbing needs. Owners and technician were very helpful and responsive. Plumbing technician arrived on time and did a great job installing a new toilet, fixing issues with two others and installing new stoppers in multiple sinks. Will use them again on my next project.

We found Ed Lee's service online and they have been a nightmare to deal with. My parents want to prepare their home to sell so my sister and I wanted to surprise them and help remodel the kitchen and possibly the bathrooms.

We hired Ed to start work on replacing some kitchen cabinets and the kitchen sink with the understanding that if that went well we could have them start work replacing some bathroom fixtures. Ed and his wife Trina came by and gave us an estimate of about $700 to take out the cabinets along with repairing some water damage and an additional $600 to install the new cabinets. Everything was fine to that point until they started the actual work. They tore out the old cabinets and when they went to put the new cabinets, surprise! Not only were the measurements they did for the new ones wrong (one cabinet was 4 inches shorter than the others, how do you not notice?) they forgot they were installing a kitchen sink and bought the wrong piece. Fortunately, we kept all the receipts for the cabinets he had picked out so we'll be able to return them and if that were it I'd say no big deal, but it's not where it ends.

We had told them about the possibility about working on the bathrooms and had even shown them the fixtures we wanted replaced. We let them know it all depended on if we liked the work in the kitchen Trina however didn't understand that and had the workers begin taking out fixtures in the bathroom when we specifically told them not to do it. That was too far and we told them they could keep the $700 we had already paid, but that we no longer wanted to work with them.

After we told them not to come back Trina sent a nasty letter to my sister, called her a racist and invoiced her an additional $600. $300, was for the work in the bathroom we didn't ask for and $300 for Trina's 'consultation fee' which had never been discussed. When we disputed the charges and tried to reason it out with them they threatened taking it to court and are now preparing for that nonsense. They have been unprofessional, pushy and bullying towards my parents. If you love drama, people wrecking your house and people trying to sue you, Ed Lee's handyman service is for you.

Update: they say they can't pay their workers with the $700 we paid them. They worked for 5 and a half hours which for Ed and his 2 workers would come out to about $42 an hour for each of them. I think they'll be fine.

I recently used this handyman service for a garage door repair. They quoted my repair using my pictures in one hour and were onsite working the following morning. The end results were good and I am now planning another home repair that I have put off this summer. Also they answered all professional questions ( liability insurance, technician I.D., and invoice costs) with a pleasant tone.

Ed has done repairs on our condo twice now, he is very professional and articulate, and explains the problem clearly and doesn't try to make an easy buck. I highly recommend this company to anyone looking for good profesional work at a fair price.

The 1 star review given is very disingenuous to the credibility of ed and his company, ignore it and be assured you have a great repair man in Ed Lee.

The wife of the owner is rude. They said they warranty work for 6-months, but when the repair doesn’t hold for even three, the response “you don’t have anything in writing.” I had them come out to repair a sliding glass door and the repair person says he only fixed one of the rollers (but there was no reason not to replace both when they were both old and worn...and he charged us extra to go to Home Depot to get the parts). Then they rescheduled coming out for the repair (fine), but didn’t show for the time it was rescheduled. They said at first they would come the following week, then tried to say they were only doing emergency repairs until lockdown was over, but they never gave a courtesy call to say that before leaving town nor did they say that at the beginning of the call. I was also told that they charge a $99 fee to give an estimate and if hired $50 is credited toward the repairs. I was told that the job was going to be $475 and the invoice to my warranty company shows $475, but she’s saying she has an invoice for $525 and won’t be giving any additional discounts. Ed said he credited the home warranty company $50, but they’re showing they we’re invoiced $475 and they paid $300 and I paid $175. I believe we paid the money before the work was completed because he mentioned he forgot to credit the $50; however, that could have been a miscommunication I was willing to let go of February when this happened. I only bring it up now because it’s just one more issue to add to their poor customer service.

I tried the first time service request with this company. He did a great job to help repair and replace the bathroom volet. Very capable, very smart, very handy, knows what he doing, good problem solving, an excellent job. Thank you very much!

If I could add pictures I would....Don’t use!!!I hired Ed Lee’s service to for a repair and ended up have to hire another company to fix the complete trash Ed did. I strongly recommend you reconsider using Ed’s services , BAD workmanship and extremely high pricing .

Absolutely dreadful service. We had them come out to replace a ceiling fan. They broke the original fan upon removal and fried the motor on the new fan. They left our home without a solution. We have been back and forth for a month about a replacement and they refuse to replace either fan they broke. The worst service I have ever seen. Avoid at all costs!

I needed my headboard and footboard attached to my bed frame and I hired Ed Lee home repair and they got the job done and did a great job! Very friendly!
