My AC went out on Tuesday 6/21/22. I was given a wait time of 24-48 hours and when I got a call on 6/23/22 was told someone will come 6/24/22 to check it out between 8:00AM and 4:00 PM. After inspection Sergio said they do not have a motor and also the turbo needs to be replaced stating it will need to be ordered to be replaced. I was told I would get a call the next day. I never received a call and I called several times he did not answer or call back also VM was full I was not able to leave a message. It is now Saturday 6/25 and I end up finding another person to fix my AC. He came that day and replaced the turbo and told me the motor is fine. I have yet to hear back from Sergio and am unable to reach him to let him know we no longer need the repairs, the motor was fine that was not the problem with our AC. I feel he lied to get the new part and collect from the American Home shield coverage. Sergio ended up calling and leaving me a message on 6/29/22 that the part will be in next Wednesday being 7/6/22. How do they expect someone in Arizona with triple digest and heat advisory warning to be with out AC for that long. My mother is 72 and was in a wheel chair from an injury she had and we had to get a hotel for 3 night while we waisted money on the hotel stays and time waiting on them. I was not able to report them to The Better Business Bureau since this is not a company that is Accredited or listed on Better Business Bureau.

Tried to get AC maintenance. They canceled on me twice and never contacted me to do a reschedule. I had to call my home warranty company to get another company scheduled because not even they could get in touch with Consolidated Mechanical. I understand being backed up, but don't accept jobs you can't do, customers have busy schedules, too. Update: They called me today to tell me they aren't doing any maintenance...a month after they were supposed to be out. Hilarious. I went with Semper Fi, which only cost me $17.50, they were out the next day. I need a new AC soon, so going to buy one from them, too.

This company has been out to check my air conditioning twice. They cannot figure out what the problem is and do not seem to care. Each time the contractor was out here for a very short period of time. Our AC works intermittently but that is not good enough in Arizona. It is 107° out and our AC is creeping up to the mid 80s. When I called the company, the agent was completely disinterested and told me someone could call me back tomorrow. I would not recommend this company and would not use them if we weren't tied to a home warranty. I am getting to the point where I'm willing to pay to have it fixed and just lose the warranty money.

This company is a JOKE. We used Consolidated Mechanical for an A/C repair thru American Home Shield. We submitted the repair order on Monday, 6/6 after the A/C failed to start. Wednesday, 6/8 was the slot assigned for my repair. Walter from Consolidated called and 30 minutes later he arrived. I explained the problem to him and within 20 minutes he let me know that the unit was old and needs to be replaced, and that he would be recommending full replacement on the work order as he could not get the unit to run AC. I was told he would submit the order to the home warranty and they would be in touch for next steps.

On Friday, we reached out for a follow up and the company assured us that they sent the request to American Home Shield. We call back on Monday morning (6/13)after American Home Shield said there was no work order sent to them for approval. I spoke with the GM, Daryl in attempt to get this resolved ASAP. He was rude, unhelpful, and not at all empathetic to the fact that they wrongly closed my work order, lied about the AC working at 59 degrees when it hasn't been less than 84 degrees in my home for over a week now, and claimed there was nothing he could do. I cannot believe that there are companies treating customers like this who have zero respect or understanding for people and their homes in the Arizona heat.

It's 114 degrees outside and my house won't get below 84 degrees, and you don't think that's a problem? He told me I can contact another company if I am so unhappy with the service but my warranty company is making me use them. How about instead, you take accountability to fix the situation that you've caused? This is ridiculous and I've never had a worse experience with a company. You try working from home with your husband and 2 dogs for 7+ days without any air conditioning when it's 114 degrees outside and let me know how that feels and how you'd react to someone telling you that there's nothing they can do and that they don't want to hear it when I complain about the heat and how frustrated with how this has been handled. I just want working air conditioning in my home....is that too much to ask for?

STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY.

My AC is leaking water into my home requiring extraction and causing damage. This company gave me an 8 hour window for the next day in which I was told I had to be available with a 15-30 minute window from 8-4 pm. Was told if I missed the call or didn't answer, they would boot me to the next day. So, I canceled my whole day for their supposed availability. At 1 pm, I called and was told that they canceled yesterday and did not let me know. Would NEVER use such a company - EVER! If your Home Warranty suggests them, you need a back up plan or refuse to allow them to come.

A/C went out at my home last night. I submitted a claim to my home warranty company (after hours) and they connected me with Consolidated Mechanical Contractors. Consolidated called me first thing the following morning to schedule a time window for that day. Alex S. was the tech assigned. He called me prior to his arrival. He was on time, polite, courteous, and quickly diagnosed the problem. The motor had gone out. He had replacement parts with him and was able to swap it out in no time. He checked the Freon levels to make sure they were still good (which they were) and checked to make sure the system was working properly before he left. I don't normally leave reviews, but Alex S. did a great job and our AC is running again. Would recommend. Thank you!

I feel sad to write this review. I like to give people a chance to be professional and do their job. However, this company has not done either of these things. They work through American Home Shield. We have been trying to deal with them now for almost a year because they installed the wrong compressor and all our coolant leaked out. On the second visit, they did end up replacing the coolant, which we paid them to do. However, they said they would not get the right compressor and the one they put in would be fine. My husband also made them fix the pin hole leak and bolt down the compressor at least. Long story short, the third time they were supposed to come was yesterday. They called my number, even though they were supposed to call my husbands number. They left me a message saying that if I didn’t call them back in 15 minutes they would move on. The tech called as well. I was working, but called both places back within 5 minutes, no one answered, so I left messages and texted and called the tech. No answer, no response from him ever. My husband was at our home and had taken the day off work. He also tried to reach them, but they never responded. I have read some other reviews that have said the exact same thing. If American Home Shield assigns this company to you, I highly suggest asking for a different company.

Our AC went out on the hottest day of the year. After calling our home warranty company, they assigned a different service company. I never heard from them on arranging for an appointment so I called them. It went to an answering service at which time I left a message. That night the temperature in our condo went up to 98 degrees. Leaving all doors and windows open, the temperature dropped to 95. When I called the service company the next morning, they indicated that yes they had seen the service order from the warranty company but unfortunately they would not be able to help us due to the fact we have tile in the stairwell so therefore it is a two man job as one needs to hold the ladder and they just don't have two men available. I was very surprised as not only do we not have tile, we don't even have a stairwell. Access for the roof AC unit is via the top of the garage from the paved parking lot. Their rep indicated that she lived in our area and was very familiar with it and so sorry. I wasn't happy, there was a whole day wasted and another record setting hot day in the desert was expected. The warranty company then assigned Consolidated and they were top notch all the way. Special tanks to the tech Walter. Clearly went out of his way to make sure we had our AC back as fast as possible. I would give them 10 stars if I could.

I used Consolidated Mechanical for an A/C repair thru American Home Shield. I submitted the repair order on Sunday afternoon after the A/C failed to start. Tuesday afternoon was the slot assigned for my repair. Walter from Consolidated called and 25-30 minutes later he arrived. I explained the problem to him and within 2 minutes, he figured it was probably a blown fuse in the Air Handler in the attic. Less than 1 hour later my A/C was up and running. Great service, quick turn around and Walter was professional and courteous. You can't ask for a better service call. Highly recommended based on my experience with them.

My nest thermostat wasn’t charging so I was charging it manually. We asked for them to install a common wire from AC unit to thermostat so it could self charge.

They came out and said they found an “extra wire” and connected it. They said to charge my thermostat and put it back on in a few hours to see if the best holds charge.

So I plug it in and the nest pops up a diagram I’ve never seen before stating there in no power to my AC unit at all. So my AC unit was working, they came out and now it’s not working. I get a call back after asking for a recall from some guy who genuinely didn’t care. He tried to question whether this was his guys fault multiple times. Questioning the timeline. And then demanding I pay an extra 150$ just for them to come look at it today.

Look, this was clearly their fault. The unit ran fine, they came out and now it has no power. Pretty freaking simple timeline. I just want this fixed. I have 5 children under the age of 10 and it was 45 degrees in my house last night. Most of our belongings are in storage as we are set to a move in 48 hours. I need them to do the right thing. I need them to fix their mistake.

Considering the 1 star review on google, I was pleasantly surprised with their service. I was extremely skeptical to go through with this contractor when my warranty assigned it to them. The office staff can use some work regarding their scheduling and organization. The first time I put in a service order was on the Saturday my AC was acting up. I had one of their workers call me on the following Monday saying he was 15 mins from my house…. I never was able to schedule anything because their office hours state they are closed on weekends and next thing you know, someone says they’re 15 mins out??? The guy on the phone wasnt the nicest but I brushed it off because I desperately needed my AC on. That whole situation put me off guard so I canceled my service request. Put in another service order and had my father to help handle the entire situation, thankfully, everything went wonderful! I am incredibly thankful to have Keith and Kenny fix my AC unit! My father went to my property as I was in the middle of my work day and my father had nothing but great things to say about the Kenny and Keith! Replaced the motor on my AC unit and it feels like I have a brand new unit!! Thank you Kenny and Keith!!

Stay away from this company. I put in a request in MAY to have my air conditioner serviced. They didn't respond until June, claimed they set up an appointment for AUG and I just got a call that they are not going to meet their obligation AT ALL. No apologies just we are not longer going to provide this service. Thank you very much for nothing.

We concur with all of the negative ratings for Consolidated. This company (we spoke to 4 different people during our dealings with Consolidated) lies to its customers, does not respond when it says it will, and misrepresents facts. The most significant issue however was that their technician misdiagnosed the reason the thermostat on our a/c unit was not working which resulted in a 2 1/2 week delay in its repair (when it was 109 degrees outside in Arizona). The technician claimed a wire from the a/c unit to the thermostat had burned up and had to be completely replaced. Consolidated also claimed it could not access the wire to replace it but, even if they could access it, Consolidated stated it did not have enough staff to repair it. Consolidated's assessment of the problem with our a/c unit turned out to be completely wrong. Even though we had a home warranty with American Home Shield, we ultimately had to hire another company to repair our a/c unit at our expense ($420). The company that actually repaired our a/c unit told us the repair was actually simple and should have been easily diagnosed by Consolidated. We had paid extra to have Consolidated come on a weekend since they told us they could not schedule a technician to come to our home for 4 days because it was a holiday weekend. Even after our a/c unit was repaired and we notified Consolidated that they had misdiagnosed the issue with our a/c unit, they refused to return any of the $225 we had paid to them for their initial 15 minute visit when they misdiagnosed the problem. We have notified American Home Shield of our total dissatisfaction with Consolidated and made a formal complaint against them. Be aware that American Home Shield allows its contractors to charge extra for certain services and will not require their contractors to return fees.

Sent out by AHS. Three days to come out for A/C unit repair. Misdiagnosed first repair. Came back out and said it was something else that AHS wont cover. Said if its not that, I dont know. When I saw all of the horrible reviews, AHS refused to change contractors. Do not use this contractor!!!!!!

American Home Shield assigned my AC issue to Consolidated Mechanical Contractors. The first work order was submitted in September of 2020. The technician came out and stated that my AC unit was just a little low on freon, top the unit off and stated I should be good. Still no improvement and asked that they come back out. The same Tech came out and stated there was nothing wrong with my unit. He cannot fix was it not broken, mind you my ac was not cooling to temp.

Work order was closed. Last month I happen to have a conversation with someone who works on AC units and told them the issues I was having. First question: did they go in the attic to look at the system up there. NOPE!!! So he did that for me and found the coil needs to be replaced because it is rusted and leaking. Oh and Techs are not suppose to put freon in a unit if it is leaking.

I placed another work order and it was assigned to Consolidated Mechanical Contractors once again. I received a call from the office and scheduled the appointment for them to come out the next day. Great!

The next day my window is 7-noon. I have a missed call on my phone at 9:51am, no message left (not important right?). When I get a chance I call the number back to see who/what it was about an hour later. It was the Tech from Consolidated Mechanical. He proceeds to tell me he is not in my area and he is not sure if he will be back. My response: ok, I wish you would have left a message. His response: You should have answered you phone, it works both ways. WHAT?!?!?!

First off, this is not professional nor is it good customer services. Good customer services would have been to leave the customer a message letting them know they are trying to reach you to come out. Seeing a message, I would have known someone is trying to get a hold of me and would have warranted a much quicker reaction.

My immediate response was do not worry about coming out, I will find another company.

Based on my first experience with this technician back in September and now, I would not recommend!!!

Not only is this business incompetent in it's ability to handle customer service, the owner is dishonest and tried to rip me off. I was forced to use this company through my home warranty company. Everyone that I have spoken to has been condescending and rude as if they know they can do what they want because we are stuck using them through our warranty. My ac unit is 21 years old and I had to make the decision to repair or replace the system. The warranty company will only cover the cost to repair the compressor minus the $800 in Freon that the repair contractor was going to charge me. Besides being charged $800 for something that I found online for $100, he then gave me a quote for the replacement of the two systems. He specifically told me that American Home Shield had a buy out program where they would apply a roughly $2500 credit towards the replacement of each of my two units. He gave me a bid and said that the credit would only be applied through his company. I had red flags about his company because it took a week for him to get back to me even though they said he would call me back on the same day about the repair. It is 100 degrees still and no call back with broken ac. I called 4 times over the weekend and three more times on Monday. It took until Friday for him to call me back. This is the owner we are talking about not just an employee. I was told multiple times he was on the phone or in a meeting and then he told me he was out of town. I choose to be an informed consumer so I personally called my home warranty company to ask about the credit because if it existed I didn't want to use it with this subcontractor. They informed me that the credit didn't exist. He lied to me about the credit to try and get me to replace the system through his company. His marked up sales price minus the credit was what he tried to pitch to make it sound like a $5000 discount was too good of a deal to pass up. He is a liar and the only reason his company is open is because they have warranty jobs that people are required to use them for. You will be better off paying more for a real company. Also, don't pay the $65 per pound for old Freon. You can find it all day long for $6.67 per pound online.

WORTHLESS. If you plan on going with Consolidate mechanical it will be a waste of money. I tried to go through my home warranty which sent them out to diagnose the issue with my HVAC and they told me it was the thermostat and told me to fix it (Which cost me $100 to just get them out). I bought a new thermostat and still had the same issues. Then tried to follow up on their 30 day call back policy by calling every day for 5 DAYS without air conditioning to realize i needed to call a competent contractor. Now my air conditioning is fixed no thanks to CMC.

I have American Home Shield Warranty. Our tenant said the air conditioner is not blowing any cool air. I put in a service request through American Shield and received a phone call within 30 minutes from Consolidated Mechanical Contractors. I scheduled an appointment for the next morning and met with Walter. He diagnosed the problem with the A/C and thank goodness it was a simple repair of replacing the battery. He explained that sometimes the control units won't show low battery. I thought his service was excellent. Also one of his co-workers showed up with two ladders in case they needed to go on the roof.

If you use them please ask for Walter.

BEWARE do not get involved with this company. CMI was sent to me by my warranty company American Home Shield. I was scheduled to have my AC unit replaced. The day before the replacement I checked with the warranty company to make sure everything was reported because I was advised I could not replace my unit without the warranty company signing off on the replacement. The day of the replacement the warranty company still had not received the diagnosis. I contacted CMI to inform them I did not want the unit replaced until the warranty company was aware. After going back and forth I finally requested the install to be canceled. For two weeks I have been calling requesting a refund from the money I paid since I did not have the unit installed. They have hung up on me, at times wont answer my calls if I call from my number, I’m always told accounting is not available, then I was told I needed to speak with the owner who is never available. Two weeks later no refund and no response so I have just decided to review them and work with an attorney to report them to American Home Shield, the Better Business Bureau, the Az State Registrar of Contractors and anyone else that I find who should be aware. I wish I would have read the reviews before I started dealing with them.

My A/C stopped cooling last night at about 8 pm, so I immediately reached out to AHS, my home warranty company. CMI was assigned to my claim and I couldn't be happier with the service I received. Their website indicates they open at 8 am. My plan was to call them right at 8 to follow up with my claim, but I didn't need to. They phoned me at 7:30 and gave me a service window of 7 to 12. Two gentlemen arrived by 8:30 and discovered a disconnect short. They had it fixed within the hour and they were on their way!
