Wanted to get solar installed got a number of competitive quotes. The reason I went with Artisan was the extremely friendly service from Jeff Bennett, he was very patient taking extra time to explain the process. The price was also comparable with the other quotes I received.

I was really glad I went with Artisan their entire process from start to end is designed to keep you in the loop with what is going on. They are very flexible and communicative. They did exactly what they said they would each and every time.

Quality install (no roof leaks!) and worked with me to minimize the cosmetics of the install to the street front.

It really made me feel like that they had my back during the entire process and really cared about their work.

Case in point - Jeff went to bat for me when PSE screwed up and was taking a really long time to turn the system on (> 30 days - out of Artisan's control), which I really appreciated.

Only suggestion I would have for them for future improvement would be to make sure they seal the lines coming in and out of the house and not using blue painters tape for the labels, but that was caught on the inspection and fixed promptly.

I've always been taught to leave a place better than you found it. Installing our new solar system is a small part we can do to help reduce our carbon footprint. But if you are reading this, you already know that.

For our project, we contacted several companies. Some companies used the time-share condo sales approach others just gave a verbal quote over the phone. Others just looked at satellite images and emailed us their proposal. Artisan Electric did not do any of these poor customer service methods.

When I contacted them, they were out to the house within a few days. They took detailed measurements and gave us an initial proposal on the spot. Then they went back to the office to adjust their initial proposal to reflect their site visit and measurements for a revised proposal. All along the way, we were kept informed. Their communication was top notch. When we signed the contract and arranged for the solar loan (they were able to negotiate a better rate for us) we were on the calendar for the install.

Before the actual install week (it took about 4 days to do our project) their job foreman came out to inspect the site as well so that he was aware of any possible issues. The crew were on time and very professional. Their workmanship was extremely neat and professional. After everything was installed their foreman was on site for the city inspections (mechanical and electrical). All passed without any issue. Lastly our salesperson came back out for the final walk-through. He went over the entire system and answered any additional questions. I wish all contractors can take a lesson from Artisan on customer service. I highly recommend Artisan.

Artisan installed our solar panels. Highly recommended to anyone looking. They’re communicative, they handle all the permitting, communication with the electric company and even filled out our tax credit form for us. Everyone was extremely professional, they clearly know their craft and I would recommend them in a heartbeat.

After a few delays due to Covid, staffing problems and previously booked commercial projects, Artisan finally installed our electric car charger. Artisan provided excellent service with professional electricians who patiently answered all my questions. Highly recommend Artisan!

Great company. The electricians and installers were nothing less than completely professional. It was comforting to observe how great they were. The first encounter I had with the salesman was close to same. It was obvious the salesman knew his product BUT it was obvious he was scared of heights. Even though he was pretty shaky in the knees he was still excited to get on roof and explain all aspects to me. I have nothing but positive comments on entire process.

We worked with Artisan Electric to add solar power to our home this year. Every person we worked with, from sales to installation, was easy to talk with, clearly knowledgeable, and professional. The solar panels are working great, and help position us for a future electric vehicle.

Edit: Artisan responded here saying they would reach out to me. A week later they have still not reached out to me.

Another edit: About a month after that last edit I filed a report with the BBB and now the two final issues (meter error and referral bonus) were resolved.

Many negative experiences with Artisan.
- before paying a deposit they told me 2 months before install. immediately after paying it became 4 months
- the crew left tons of trash at my house. not just packaging from the equipment - months later I am still finding food wrappers and plastic utensils in random places. didn’t apologize or anything when I reported this, they sent some to clean up, there was still plenty of visible trash when they left.
- I was referred by another customer, and they are supposed to receive $500. I have asked multiple times and they have not sent it
- my meter is reporting some error, I have asked many many times, they’ve said they would get back to me and send someone to take a look, but for the last several months they just haven’t even responded to my emails

Overall, pretty awful experience.

I've used Artisan for my Solar power install a couple of years ago and did they did a great job. Glad to use them again.
They had to replace the electrical line from power pole to the house. Previous power line was underground and the line deteriorated with numerous faults. They constructed the required electrical housing for new power panel and the necessary wiring. Everything was professionally done and looks good. Highly recommended.

My PV system was installed in October 2020, and I received outstanding service from Artisan Electric. They were professional and friendly. The design we finalized was close to Evan’s recommendations, and was perfect for my home. It was well worth the many questions that I asked to become well-informed about the process, and all on the Artisan staff were patient with me and even seemed to appreciate my level of detailed interest. The installation process took about three days, and the lead electrician, the site coordinator, along the roof crew, were all polite and considerate, as well as extremely knowledgeable. I got the strong impression that the employees enjoyed their work and that the company is very well-managed. I did get another bid before choosing Artisan, and I am so happy that I asked Artisan Electric to design and install my system. I appreciate that Artisan is a union shop, yet the price for the other bid that I got was nearly the same price (but with less desirable choices for my installation), plus the other company’s consultant couldn’t answer quite a few of my questions. I found that Artisan designers were extremely well informed leaders in the PV industry in our area.
Since Artisan can also provide other electrical services, I feel confident that my investment will be better protected, and that this company will be around to service my system for many years. I highly recommend Artisan Electric, without reservation, to anyone considering solar panels for their home.

Great experience. I was able to get on Artisan's schedule quickly, the work was professional, and billing was fair. I particularly appreciated that they didn't charge the minimum 2hr fee twice when they had to come back after ordering a part, they just billed me for the total hours spent on the job. Will use again!

As the first step in a total bathroom remodel, Artisan Electric removed the old wall heater and installed a new heater/fan/light combo unit in the ceiling.
They did everything from start to finish in 1 day, were on time, professional, courteous, friendly and clean!
They've down work for us before - including a 32.panel solar system w/ whole home battery - and we will continue to work with them in the future.

Artisan Electric has done multiple installs and other electrical jobs for me over the past ten years, at two homes. I’ve been very satisfied with their work, their communication and customer service, their professionalism and knowledge. These qualities have been consistently represented by all members of their team who have done work for me, so they’re my go-to company for solar and residential electric projects of all kinds.

We picked Artisan because they proposed a solar panel roof layout that used the available roof area more efficiently than proposals from other vendors. That was fortuitous since that depended on what our roof dimensions happened to be. But, it was a fortunate choice as we felt very well taken care of by Artisan throughout the process. The price was competitive with other proposals. We liked that the solar panels were manufactured locally.

Of the four solar companies I got an estimate from, Artisan was the most thorough. I also appreciate that they took the time to explain about solar panel sourcing and manufacturing, and were not at all pushy. I highly recommend!

We’re investing in an electric future, so I initially contacted Artisan Electric about installing a car charger, as they were the rare certified installer that serviced my area. They were quick to respond, and helpful in helping me figure out what needed to be done. As it is, our electric panel box was decades ancient, and also needed to be updated, the house wasn’t grounded according to current code, etc. Artisan came and took care of it all in a day, even going so far as to salvage slumbering strawberry plants in the bed they installed the ground in. I cannot recommend them enough, especially for anyone like me who lives in Kitsap County, but finds their choices for professional electrical work lacking.

Should we get to instal a solar roof/panels in the future, I know where to go.

Approximately 7 years ago I had Artisan Electric install solar panels and inverters on my house. The inverters worked for the first year but after that they started overheating. The inverters were replaced but they started charging $250 to replace them even though they were under warranty. The solar panel manufacture had quality issues and left the state. I now have no 30 year warranty as advertised when purchased. I’m now having problems with the eguage monitoring system and Artisan refuses to assist!

Great communication from day 1. Electrician was running late and communicated with me early so I wasn't waiting around and wondering. Work was done quickly, efficiently and cleanly. I would highly recommend Artisan for your electrical needs.
New update. Had Artisan install Solar for us. The company again was excellent from day 1. Our system is up and running with no issues. They kept us informed every step of the way. Installers were awesome and super professional.

We used Artisan both to inspect a residential solar setup before we put in a bid on a house, and then to do work afterwards.

A large part of the reason we went with them was because of how solid their inspection was. Had them install a new solar inverter to replace one that was recalled, and add optimizers to an existing solar install. The entire process was fantastic- probably one of the best contractors I've worked with, starting from working with us on the quote, to their attention to detail during the install, how carefully they worked with our existing system, and going the extra mile at every step of the process.

Even post install, they invested serious time and effort to verify their work, educate us on the new system, and make sure we had all the necessary paperwork.

Seriously, hands-down one of the best experiences we've had with a contractor and we're very happy with the resulting solar setup.

I have been interested in going solar for some time now and Artisan was recommended to me by a family member. There were a couple of glitches in the process but every time I informed folks at Artisan they responded quickly and effectively. I'm happy with the quality of workmanship (the electricians were particularly thorough) and am getting addicted to the online monitoring system that tells me what's going on overhead. It does feel good to know we are part of the greening!

We have an older home that needed a new roof before we could move forward with the installation. Artisan was able to recommend a local roofer and work with him to get the job done in a timely fashion. Very happy with the whole experience even though the computerized contract signing was a challenge for me. Would definitely recommend this very professional company to anyone.

We got our 22 solar panels (on our roof) in 2014. Five years later, I am still really glad we picked Artisan. Great support, great follow-through. Everything was very professional, from the beginning. They listened carefully to what we wanted, did a lot of measurements at the site, then presented us with various options to choose from, and pros & cons of each option (not just cost). The installation team was very careful. And when there was a recall of one of the parts of our system, they helped us with that too. It was a big project for us, and having their support all along the way has been super.

This was a remove and replace operation while a new roof was put on. The Artisan crew was responsive and efficient. They required one day to remove the old system and store it and one day to reinstall it. Great job!

Artisan is great. If you want solar, I strongly recommend them. I shopped thoroughly and was actually leaning toward a company that installed my metal roof also to install solar, but when I solicited proposals and bids, Artisan was more responsive, more knowledgeable, more experienced, and flexible in adjusting their proposal to meet some of my specific requests. I am so glad I engaged Artisan. I got a remarkably affordable system that will supply all of our electrical needs, including charging a car for city driving. So essentially, beyond generating solar for our house, I am running a car on solar. The crew was great, Evan (a co-owner) was great, I got a clean looking and well-organized system and I can check my computer or phone and see that it is working well and will be generating all of our electrical needs. If you want solar, I strongly recommend this company.

I've had my Artisan solar system for about 5 years now. Everything went well for the installation (clean, nice looking, etc). I have since had a hand full of issues

1. After install they wanted to change a panel orientation (to squeeze out a little more efficiency), but forgot to plug something in (no power check?) causing my system to be down for weeks

2. Communication with Solar system went down, called it in and was told it was an easy 20 min fix......... That then took 3 months (yes, 3 months) after multiple no call no shows (had to call them every time) to get fixed. System was still running so at least I didn't lose any production.

3 Inverter failures (Not Artisans fault they failed, just poor scheduling/communication) , I am currently waiting for my 4th inverter replacement and not a single time have they shown up on the initial scheduled day and 2 of them have been no call/no shows. All have taken several weeks and some over a month to get remedied.

All this down time adds up quick with both the Solar power and Solar production incentives(ending in 2020) that are being missed, It seems once they got your money you end up on the back burner.

Everyone I have dealt with has been real nice and seems to care, just a lack of follow up, which unfortunately is a huge deal (at least for me)

Evan and his team were fantastic to work with. The project completed on time and on budget, even under time constraints. The entire process was transparent and Artisan walked us through every step. They efficiently and professionally handled the prep, installation, commissioning, follow up and close out process. The cost was reasonable and Evan took all the time we needed to explain the system, monitoring tools and various incentives and tax rebates. I can't imagine a better home improvement experience.

From the moment we contacted Artisan it was as if we were their most important customers. They walked us through every step of the process with skill, patience and sincere warmth. The crew who installed our system was a joy to have around. The work was completed on time and we have been enjoying the benefits of solar ever since. Not long ago We needed a service call and within 24 hours of contacting Artisan someone returned our call, reassured us and came that very evening after getting off of work to make sure we didn't lose a moment of valuable production time. Everyone who works for Artisan is passionate about solar and cares about people; the two together makes for an outstanding product and service. Go Artisan!

My solar installation took place in February 2019. They took care of everything. Permits, working with the PUD, inspections, easy. Artisan has agreements with local financial institutions for solar setup loans. We were producing electricity in no time. After installation, they walk you through care and maintenance activities (you can have them do it if you want). Excellent service. Competitive pricing. Fast response on questions after installation. I couldn't ask for more.

I've used Artisan three times, twice for solar panel installations, once to install a NEMA 14-50 for my EV. I'm talking to them currently regarding a battery installation for load balancing and backup for my solar system.

FANTASTIC EXPERIENCE working with Artisan Electric! From start to completion, the Artisan team was personable, professional and punctual and they finished the project on schedule. I would highly recommend this company and we have also used them for other jobs requiring an electrician. We just celebrated our one year anniversary with our panels and sold back 1/3rd more energy then we consumed; the whole system will pay itself back in less then the projected time of 7 years, hooray!

Incredibly nice and courteous to work with, they’re also very knowledgeable and explained in detail everything they were doing.
But the best part being around them was observing how well they worked together as a team.
Their lead electrician was really wonderful , and it was apparent how respectful the men were to her and how they all deferred to her for her expertise.

Artisan gave my project the 'hands on' approach right from the start, as I worked closely with Evan to design my installation. He took my suggestion to create a canopy, allowing me to capture all the sun on the south side of my home. I'm very satisfied with the interactions, with the quality of work, and with the knowledgeableness of all the staff who assisted.

Artisan was on time with appointed, completed work they were required to, and worked with vendor until problem was resolved. They were also able to convince vendor that I should not be charged for the visit!

Just over two years ago we signed up for solar power through the Solarize program in Northwest Seattle. Artisan was the company that was contracted to do the work. We can not sing their praises enough. They explained the process in detail, answering all my questions and provided a readable list of options once they had done their analysis.

Once we signed the contract they walked with us every step of the way through installation. A couple months after install, they decided it would be helpful for us to have monitoring to keep track of how the system was doing. They installed all the hardware and showed us what the monitoring system could do. Even then they weren't done. At the one year anniversary they came back and got up on the roof to see how the system is doing.

These folks know their stuff, are responsive and, well, are just pros.

These guys are total pros. From the initial consultation and installation, to the comprehensive follow-up after the system was up and running, Artisan is a 'top drawer' company. Can't recommend them enough!

Artisan installed our system just over a year ago. I was a bit skeptical at first- not sure how working with a contractor would go. When Anthony showed up at our door he had a packet with 6 (!) potential solar plans for our home. Each showed the cost, benefits, return on investment timeline, and power production plan. There were helpful graphs that let us see quickly how the plans measured up against each other. There was no pressure- and when I sent messages asking questions the responses were fast. When the project started the workers were professional, respectful, and quiet. We could continue with our lives pretty much as usual. There was some noise of course, but much less than expected. Since our 2 youngest were still taking naps that was important. The project was done ontime and on budget. We had helpful follow ups at the end and a month later to make sure we understood everything. And the few times I've asked questions over the past year, responses were still fast. They don't leave you once the project is done. They don't just sell solar, they really believe in it.

Artisan is our go-to electrician - when we tried to do our own DIY electrical work for our home studio and arcade and realized we were in way above our heads, they swooped in to save the day! Really great people, responsive communication and quality work what more can you ask for. Thank you!

These guys installed my solar more than three years ago, but they still keep in contact with me! They offer me cleaning deals, remind me to check my panels after a storm or get an extra cleaning because of the summer fires (that was a few years ago), send in my info for my yearly check and more. But what I love most is that they aren't pushy, they remind you once and then it's up to you and they respect you and your decision.

Even though the pandemic, weather, and the normal wrinkles of scheduling occasionally delayed the work we had done, I found every employee professional, competent, flexible, and kind. I'm delighted with a system that takes care of 90% of our electric bill - even in Winter! Can't imagine what summer will bring!

I have no association with, professional experience with, or prior knowledge of this company, but I have followed the recent story (November, 2016) very carefully over the past few days, hoping to see justice done one way or another. It genuinely appears to be a case of the kids involved crying wolf after being caught behaving badly, and using their race as a way to create a false story. I am saddened by this, as it really does a great deal of damage to race relations as a whole. PLEASE read the statement on their FB home page, and reconsider unfairly rating this company. I am very impressed by their statement, and their accountability for the part that their employee had to play in the incident, even if he was unfairly portrayed. I hope the parents of the kids involved use this as a opportunity to have a very frank discussion about how very, very damaging it is to make false statements about racism, and how far backwards it pushes the cause of racial harmony in general.
